  SPEAKER_00: And so I just signed off on that last episode.

  SPEAKER_00: And I don't even know what I said.

  SPEAKER_00: I said something like, I'll sing to you on the next episode.

  SPEAKER_00: So yeah, if you heard that, you can laugh along with me that words are hard, God is good.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, so I had a coaching call with a client today with one of my one-on-ones, and our conversation was so good that I want to share with you because like God is bringing so much awareness.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, because my client is positioning herself to see and hear what the Lord is teaching her.

  SPEAKER_00: She is surrendering and submitting to that, even though it's scary, even though um it's not something that she's walked through before, but God is so good to give us exactly what we need for today, what we need.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, and so she was explaining to me that like right now she's uh going on a special eating plan uh that she she's working with her holistic doctor and all that.

  SPEAKER_00: And um she's like, I really feel like I can't do this, but like I have to fully rely on the Lord for this, and I know that, and I know that I'm not gonna be able to bring the victory, it's only gonna be by his hand.

  SPEAKER_00: And I was like, exactly, because you know, and so I love that God knows our hearts, he knows the things that we struggle with, he knows exactly what to give us and how to lead us.

  SPEAKER_00: He is our good shepherd, he knows, and we can trust him.

  SPEAKER_00: You know, this is not me coaching her into this, this is God leading her and giving his sheep, his daughter, exactly what she needs to break off and to release many crutches that she's been turning to instead of to him to satisfy her.

  SPEAKER_00: And like it's just it was so awesome to have this conversation about you know, addressing the fear and seeing all of the threads that God is weaving together through this and that she is piecing together because the Holy Spirit is leaving her, because she's walking in the spirit, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Like being able to see how, you know, asking the question of what am I actually craving here?

  SPEAKER_00: Right.

  SPEAKER_00: And how the answer to that, she didn't hesitate.
• 3:18
  SPEAKER_00: She was like, I'm craving worth and I'm craving validation, right?
• 3:24
  SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh, that's so good.
• 3:26
  SPEAKER_00: And so then turning to the Lord and saying, God, feed me what I need right now, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Like, feed me, you feed me instead, right?
• 3:35
  SPEAKER_00: Instead of turning to um, you know, in her instance, she had shared, you know, different food or snacks or um, you know, certain things.

  SPEAKER_00: And for me personally, it's been it's been scrolling on my phone or online shopping or also eating and putting stuff in my face.

  SPEAKER_00: Like also I struggle with those, but you know, those are always counterfeits, right?
• 3:57
  SPEAKER_00: Those are always they usually have back end regrets and they never fully satisfy, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Because you always want more.
• 4:04
  SPEAKER_00: Um, you always like you always come back for more kind of thing, right?
• 4:09
  SPEAKER_00: Like it satisfies for an instant, but but not long term.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, and so that's what she was sharing with me.

  SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, just being able to see how like this path that God has her on right now is breaking her of all of these things and giving her the space to sit in her discomfort and to ask God instead, you feed me what I need, instead of going to my husband to validate me or to find my worthiness, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Like, instead, I'm going to you, Lord, and you're teaching me a new way of how to do that.

  SPEAKER_00: And she asked me, you know, like, how do I how do I practically do this?
• 4:46
  SPEAKER_00: And I said, Okay, well, there's two things here.
• 4:47
  SPEAKER_00: The first is just recognizing the fact that, hey, I'm craving something other than God right now.
• 4:53
  SPEAKER_00: And then worship or go to God's word and grab a sword to fight, to cut through to what's the actual thing under the thing that's actually the thing here, right?

  SPEAKER_00: So that you can combat these half-truths and lies and deceptions of the enemy and of ourselves and of our own lens of perspective of how we interpret experiences, right, based on old experiences, right?

  SPEAKER_00: And just anchoring in truth.

  SPEAKER_00: That's practically how we do that, right?
• 5:27
  SPEAKER_00: It's it's getting in community, community where we have godly discipleship, where we we practice discernment, where we test everything, right?

  SPEAKER_00: We test this craving.
• 5:38
  SPEAKER_00: What is it that they what am I actually craving here, right?
• 5:41
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's worth.
• 5:43
  SPEAKER_00: Well, I know my husband can't make me feel worthy.
• 5:47
  SPEAKER_00: I know my husband can't do that for me.
• 5:50
  SPEAKER_00: That is something that only God Himself can do.
• 5:53
  SPEAKER_00: And so I need to turn to the only source that is capable of doing that, because otherwise, what I'm doing is I'm putting a burden on my husband that he is not capable of fulfilling.

  SPEAKER_00: So this morning I was reading in James and in James chapter four, where it's talking about um, you know, not judging your neighbor or your brother, um, and how like you are not judge, you are not lawmaker, right?

  SPEAKER_00: You are neither able to save nor destroy.

  SPEAKER_00: And you know, what happens is when we when we turn to our spouse to fulfill us or satisfy us, or um, you know, to satisfy these cravings that we have or these yearnings that we have, we're setting him up for failure and we're setting ourselves up to never be satisfied and to continue putting more and more and more pressure on.

  SPEAKER_00: Eventually, like what we're doing is we're turning our spouse or our marriage or our ideal of marriage into an idol, right?

  SPEAKER_00: That neither has ears nor eyes nor hands nor feet, right?
• 6:59
  SPEAKER_00: It's just a dead piece of wood, essentially, just like an idol, right?

  SPEAKER_00: It's it's a created, not the creator, the only one who is able to satisfy us in these things.

  SPEAKER_00: And so I just I wanted to share this conversation with you today because it was so, it was just so profound.

  SPEAKER_00: I just I love sitting down for coaching sessions when you know, a lot of times when I'm coaching, you know, that there's I I'm like, Lord help me.

  SPEAKER_00: I like I don't know, I don't know what to do.
• 7:26
  SPEAKER_00: And that's why like God, God did give me gifts and skills in coaching to be able to read between the lines and hear what's not being said and see what's not being actually done or what is being done.

  SPEAKER_00: You get what I'm saying?

  SPEAKER_00: Um, but but so often, like God has just through through doing working in marriages and being a marriage professional, essentially, um, he's just continued to show me that I it's not me.

  SPEAKER_00: Like it's him.

  SPEAKER_00: He brings the transformation.

  SPEAKER_00: I am simply there to be his tool, to be his mouthpiece, to lead wives through this process, right?

  SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, but I so there's a lot of calls, most calls where I'm like, I have no idea what I'm doing.

  SPEAKER_00: If you're one of one of my one-on-ones, take heart in this, okay?

  SPEAKER_00: It's not that I don't know what I'm doing, it's just I can't do it.

  SPEAKER_00: I have to be fully surrendered to the Lord leading me through, leading you.

  SPEAKER_00: So don't fear in that.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, but God gets the glory, not me.

  SPEAKER_00: Like, He gets the glory.
• 8:34
  SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I'm not one of those coaches.

  SPEAKER_00: You've heard me talk about this before.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm not one of those coaches that's like, oh, come and do my 12-step program that you know, this is how I fixed my marriage.

  SPEAKER_00: No, like, no, God did.

  SPEAKER_00: God did.

  SPEAKER_00: Like, go back to the I think two episodes ago.

  SPEAKER_00: I talked about this, or last episode, I talked about the fact that like God gets the glory, God gets the victory, God's not gonna share his glory with anyone else.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay, he's not gonna share it with me, like he's not gonna bring marriage transformations on my back or through my words, like it's gonna be him speaking through me, his words, his plan, his truth.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, and so, but when I have these calls where I see God's thread being woven through it all, and I'm seeing my client see with eyes into the spiritual and hear with ears that hear the father's voice and how he is specifically leading them and refining them and pruning them, right?

  SPEAKER_00: And pressing them and testing them, like that aha, that spiritual, holy aha, where where they get it, you know, and God gets all the glory for that.

  SPEAKER_00: Like it was just it was such a cool experience.

  SPEAKER_00: So I want to share that with you that like God knows exactly what you need.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay, I know it's scary for you to give control away, to lay your control down, to stop managing your marriage and everyone around you.

  SPEAKER_00: Like, I know that.

  SPEAKER_00: I know that.

  SPEAKER_00: I know that it's scary to recognize that I am self-protecting and intimacy is not going to be able to coexist here, and I want intimacy, so I'm gonna have to lay all this down.

  SPEAKER_00: Like, I know that that's scary.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, obedience is scary, but but when it's fear in the Lord and not fear of man or self or potential threats, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Like it just hits different, okay, and it's worth it, and it brings life and it it releases burdens and it allows us to truly walk in the fact that we get to come and rest at Jesus' feet, that indeed his burden is easy and his yoke is light.

  SPEAKER_00: Truthfully, not just knowing that in our heads, but really believing it and tasting and seeing that goodness of the Lord firsthand.

  SPEAKER_00: So when I invite you into surrender, this is what I'm talking about.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm also telling you firsthand, I know what this feels like because I've walked through it and I continue to walk through it in different layers, deeper layers, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Different facets of something that God is pruning in me.
• 11:21
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 11:21
  SPEAKER_00: I am submitted to the same cross, I am under the same authority of Christ as Lord as you are, and we get to walk through this together.

  SPEAKER_00: And so for today, I want to challenge you to sit back and ask the Lord what it is that He is asking you to lay down in full surrender.

  SPEAKER_00: The area where He is He is asking you to respond with I can't, God, but you can, and I fully trust and believe, and I will take action forward of obedience of what that looks like.
