Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Big 98.7.
- 0:01Speaker 2: I did.
- 0:04Speaker 3: That for you, yeah.
- 0:06Speaker 4: Yes, thank you.
- 0:07Speaker 5: I'm in a fight with Moose and Dave over at
- 0:10Speaker 5: the Fox, and they don't know.
- 0:12Speaker 6: I was going to say, do they know?
- 0:14Speaker 5: No.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Sounds about like Angie. They're guys.
- 0:17Speaker 6: They don't know.
- 0:18Speaker 5: Okay, but this was what happened. So yesterday, and we're
- 0:22Speaker 5: very friendly with those guys. I love them, and this
- 0:24Speaker 5: is why it hurts so much. They walked past our office, Gabe,
- 0:29Speaker 5: and they welcomed me back because I had been gone
- 0:32Speaker 5: on a little vacation. And so they were asking me
- 0:33Speaker 5: questions like, oh, how did it go, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
- 0:36Speaker 5: And then I got up to show them some pictures
- 0:40Speaker 5: on my phone from the trip.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Right.
- 0:41Speaker 5: So we're standing very close to each other and looking
- 0:45Speaker 5: at each other and talking. And then the interaction concludes
- 0:49Speaker 5: and I go to the bathroom and I look in the.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Mirror and I see Gabe. That I had a piece.
- 0:55Speaker 5: Of cilantro in my teeth. Like by one of my
- 1:01Speaker 5: big old buck teeth, there was this big, huge piece
- 1:03Speaker 5: of cilantro.
- 1:04Speaker 6: And they said nothing.
- 1:05Speaker 2: They said nothing.
- 1:06Speaker 4: They said nothing. You couldn't miss it. And so I felt.
- 1:10Speaker 5: Very betrayed because how do you just let me walk
- 1:14Speaker 5: around with a big old chunk of food in my teeth?
- 1:16Speaker 4: What do you hate me, Moose and Dave? You want
- 1:19Speaker 4: me to walk around embarrassed all day? Why didn't they
- 1:21Speaker 4: tell me?
- 1:22Speaker 3: Maybe they thought you were saving it for lunch or something.
- 1:25Speaker 6: She's saving it for later.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that's smart. I'm going to try that.
- 1:29Speaker 7: No.
- 1:29Speaker 8: I don't understand that because there is no way. I
- 1:32Speaker 8: would go and tell a complete stranger if they've got
- 1:35Speaker 8: something that looks embarrassing that I'd want somebody to tell
- 1:37Speaker 8: me about.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Okay, yes, that's where my brain is at. So it
- 1:40Speaker 5: begs the question, if you see someone... With something in
- 1:43Speaker 5: their teeth or like a smudge on their face or
- 1:45Speaker 5: something in their hair or their tag pulled.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Out or their zipper down. Like, do you tell them?
- 1:51Speaker 5: And is it like based on familiarity or what? Because
- 1:55Speaker 5: I'm in Megan's boat. If it's a stranger, if it's
- 1:58Speaker 5: someone I know, I don't want you walking around looking embarrassed.
- 2:01Speaker 8: I just I just the other day I saw a
- 2:03Speaker 8: gal who is younger and I walked over like, hey, honey,
- 2:05Speaker 8: I was like, did you know that you're you're like
- 2:07Speaker 8: tag is hanging out this the back?
- 2:09Speaker 6: And she's like, no.
- 2:10Speaker 3: And so.
- 2:11Speaker 8: Tucked it in like, okay, I just want to let
- 2:12Speaker 8: you know.
- 2:12Speaker 6: And I did it very casually. I didn't want anybody
- 2:15Speaker 6: else to know about it either.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a girl's girl. What about you, Gabe, because
- 2:19Speaker 5: you've been awfully silent?
- 2:21Speaker 3: I'll tell you right now. If you text us here
- 2:23Speaker 3: at 701-280-1987 and you say, I always tell someone when
- 2:28Speaker 3: they have stuff in their teeth or makeup or their
- 2:30Speaker 3: zipper down, I'm going to call you a liar because
- 2:32Speaker 3: I guarantee you have watched me walk around the FM
- 2:35Speaker 3: area with my zipper down. I am the worst at
- 2:38Speaker 3: remembering this damn zipper. And not a soul has one
- 2:43Speaker 3: time been like, oh, hey, Gabe, can you?
- 2:45Speaker 6: You're assuming we're looking down there.
- 2:47Speaker 5: I was going to say, to be fair, your eyes
- 2:49Speaker 5: are up there, Gabe. That's where I'd be looking. You're right.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I don't want you to objectify me.
- 2:53Speaker 5: You're right.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 2:55Speaker 3: But no, I'm not saying a word unless it's like
- 2:57Speaker 3: a friend. If it's a stranger, go live your best life.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Maybe they're doing it on purpose. I don't care if
- 3:02Speaker 3: it's a buddy or because I've told Angie before. I've
- 3:05Speaker 3: told obviously Corey, but I've been like, oh, hey, you
- 3:07Speaker 3: got makeup on your teeth.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I've said that, but that's someone I know and I'm like,
- 3:12Speaker 3: I'm really cool with. If it's a stranger, I'm not
- 3:14Speaker 3: saying a word. Enjoy the rest of your day.
- 3:16Speaker 6: Women are so much nicer.
- 3:17Speaker 4: That's what I was going to say. Do you think
- 3:19Speaker 4: it's a gender thing, Megan? Because I feel like it.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I mean, based on the independent research that just took place,
- 3:25Speaker 4: Gabe would not tell.
- 3:26Speaker 7: No.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Wait a minute. But Moose and Dave didn't tell, but
- 3:29Speaker 4: I'm not a stranger.
- 3:30Speaker 3: And you know what?
- 3:31Speaker 6: Here's my thing. They didn't notice.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Oh.
- 3:35Speaker 6: They, like, I bet they, if you bring it up
- 3:38Speaker 6: to them and be like, why didn't you tell me?
- 3:39Speaker 6: They're like, I don't know. I guarantee they were clueless.
- 3:41Speaker 6: They didn't even notice.
- 3:43Speaker 5: So what you're saying is I was giving them too
- 3:44Speaker 5: much credit to begin with.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Exactly. I just wouldn't want to say something to someone
- 3:50Speaker 3: and maybe they're trying to do that. Maybe it's a
- 3:53Speaker 3: fashion statement or something and they're like, oh, I meant
- 3:55Speaker 3: to do that.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Are you kidding?
- 3:57Speaker 3: Now I feel like an idiot.
- 3:58Speaker 5: At no point is cilantro in the teeth a fashion statement.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Maybe you got like a stud in there or something
- 4:03Speaker 3: and you were doing something the cool kids do.
- 4:04Speaker 6: Cilantro and diamonds?
- 4:06Speaker 2: Way different.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Maybe they thought it was a giant cavity and didn't
- 4:09Speaker 3: want to embarrass you.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yes.
- 4:15Speaker 9: 701-280-1987.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Would you want someone to tell you? I don't. Just
- 4:18Speaker 3: let me look like an idiot all day. I don't care.
- 4:20Speaker 6: From now on, don't worry. We will.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Celebrating life's little victories.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Victory.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Every morning we practice gratitude on Big 98.7. If I could,
- 4:33Speaker 2: I would.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Keep this feeling in a plastic jar. Bust it out
- 4:36Speaker 3: whenever someone's acting hard.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I just really needed a win, you know.
- 4:40Speaker 9: Share your little victories with us at 701-280-1987.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Megan, do you have a little victory for us this morning?
- 4:47Speaker 6: I do.
- 4:49Speaker 8: I was so excited yesterday because I've been... Since last week,
- 4:54Speaker 8: I've been dreading how my face looks because when your
- 4:58Speaker 8: eyebrows need to get waxed, right?
- 5:02Speaker 6: It was embarrassing. I've been trying to hide my eyebrows.
- 5:05Speaker 8: They got waxed yesterday, and I just feel like a
- 5:07Speaker 8: new woman today.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Doesn't it feel like a weight off your... Yeah, pretty much.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 5:12Speaker 4: They do look very clean.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Thank you. They're very nice, and I feel like eyebrows
- 5:17Speaker 5: can make or break a face, so this is actually
- 5:18Speaker 5: like a major victory, and I love this for you.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Thank you. I was in here with Megan all last week,
- 5:24Speaker 3: and I'll tell you right now, Megan, I did not
- 5:26Speaker 3: notice any poor eyebrow performance out of you, but I'm
- 5:30Speaker 3: happy that you're happy.
- 5:31Speaker 6: Thank you. I just feel like a new woman. I
- 5:33Speaker 6: feel better.
- 5:34Speaker 3: You're beautiful just the way you are, but I'm glad
- 5:36Speaker 3: you feel better. You're so kind.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Are you going to ask him for a favor now?
- 5:39Speaker 4: What do you want?
- 5:41Speaker 6: Why are you buttering up Megan?
- 5:43Speaker 3: There might be something on Tuesday I need next week.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 5:49Speaker 8: Angie, what's your victory?
- 5:51Speaker 5: Last night was the CCRI Halloween Candy Crawl.
- 5:57Speaker 4: I got to go and.
- 5:58Speaker 5: Set up a table for Big 98.7 with one of
- 6:02Speaker 5: our co-workers, Elsie.
- 6:03Speaker 4: She was Rapunzel from Tangled.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Yay.
- 6:07Speaker 4: So I was Mother Gothel.
- 6:10Speaker 5: And let me tell you, those little kiddos prefer Rapunzel.
- 6:15Speaker 6: They don't like the villain?
- 6:16Speaker 4: Mother Gothel's evil.
- 6:18Speaker 5: But it was really fun to see all of the
- 6:21Speaker 5: trigger treaters and everything. And what was cool is there's
- 6:24Speaker 5: several different tables, different themes.
- 6:27Speaker 4: But there were competing things. Uno-themed tables. Really?
- 6:32Speaker 6: Yes. How has that even happened?
- 6:34Speaker 4: I know.
- 6:35Speaker 5: I had seen, we were set up next to one
- 6:38Speaker 5: of the Unos, but then, you know, I walked around.
- 6:40Speaker 4: I had to walk around and see what everybody's table was.
- 6:43Speaker 6: You could vote.
- 6:44Speaker 5: You could vote on your favorite table. And so when
- 6:48Speaker 5: I went toward the back, I saw another Uno table.
- 6:50Speaker 5: I was like, competing Uno tables.
- 6:52Speaker 4: And they were like, I know, we didn't know.
- 6:54Speaker 2: But.
- 6:55Speaker 5: The second Uno table I saw, they listen to Big.
- 6:59Speaker 4: 98.7 every morning. So I was like, you guys are
- 7:01Speaker 4: winners in my book.
- 7:02Speaker 3: That's right. That is right.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Love it.
- 7:05Speaker 5: But it was really good. It was such a fun event.
- 7:07Speaker 5: And I hope we get to do it again next year.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 7: Heck yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 4: That's a good time.
- 7:12Speaker 3: My little victory. Do you remember yesterday we were talking
- 7:14Speaker 3: about the boo buckets at McDonald's?
- 7:16Speaker 7: Yes.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Yes. Which is wonderful. I hope everyone gets a bucket.
- 7:19Speaker 3: But I was upset because my line was going to
- 7:22Speaker 3: be long for me to go get my Monopoly pieces.
- 7:24Speaker 6: That's right.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I went yesterday to McDonald's at 4.55, right before that
- 7:29Speaker 3: 5 o'clock just dreadful line you have to wait in.
- 7:33Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 3: I didn't have to wait for a single car. It
- 7:36Speaker 3: was wonderful. I got there right before the long line.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I drove in, gave them my little code from the app,
- 7:44Speaker 3: went around the corner, grabbed my food, and I was
- 7:46Speaker 3: out of there in like four minutes.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Oh, I love that.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Oh, it was incredible.
- 7:49Speaker 5: There's nothing better than getting through the drive-thru line quickly.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Magical. And then I got home and realized I wasn't
- 7:55Speaker 3: a millionaire, so I'm back here with you guys today.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Today's variety. It's big 98.7 morning show. We got sunshine
- 8:05Speaker 3: and 68 today. Have you ever spent so much time
- 8:10Speaker 3: looking for a movie on your 17 streaming services that
- 8:15Speaker 3: by the end of it, you're like, I'm done.
- 8:18Speaker 5: This is a daily occurrence at my house. And it's
- 8:22Speaker 5: always because we're trying to find something that's also kid
- 8:24Speaker 5: friendly and And then I like to watch.
- 8:27Speaker 4: The same thing over and over. I think that says
- 8:29Speaker 4: something about me. Meanwhile, the kids are like, we never
- 8:31Speaker 4: watch something new.
- 8:32Speaker 5: So then it's this whole thing and we're scrolling forever.
- 8:35Speaker 5: And then it's like, you know what? I don't know.
- 8:37Speaker 4: How to say that in English. Everybody out the car.
- 8:41Speaker 5: No one's going. That's how the phrase goes. Which is
- 8:44Speaker 5: because now no one's watching anything and we turn off
- 8:46Speaker 5: the TV.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Just go to bed.
- 8:48Speaker 6: Like we're done.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Well, I learned that. And this is kind of heartbreaking,
- 8:54Speaker 3: but in a year, you waste 110 hours. looking for
- 9:01Speaker 3: something to watch on all these streaming services and this
- 9:04Speaker 3: is a real thing it is called streaming fatigue and
- 9:07Speaker 3: it is exactly what you just described where you scroll
- 9:10Speaker 3: and you're like oh yeah that might be cool but
- 9:12Speaker 3: there might be something better down the line and then
- 9:15Speaker 3: you just get so tired of not being able to
- 9:17Speaker 3: pick something you eventually just don't do anything you shut
- 9:20Speaker 3: the tv off and go sit in your bean bag
- 9:22Speaker 3: naked eating cheetos oh.
- 9:24Speaker 8: I've never done that so specific before.
- 9:28Speaker 5: Oh, sorry.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Just me then.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Yeah, just you.
- 9:29Speaker 9: Just you.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 8: Oh, honestly, within like the first few minutes, if I
- 9:34Speaker 8: don't find something, I'm like, no, I'm going to, you
- 9:35Speaker 8: know what? I can do something more productive and I
- 9:37Speaker 8: go and do whatever.
- 9:39Speaker 5: I really wish I could be more productive.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Yeah, because I will do exactly that. Hop on the
- 9:47Speaker 3: phone and not pay attention to anything around me. Well,
- 9:50Speaker 3: I have learned that 110 hours, it's about four and
- 9:53Speaker 3: a half days, a tiny bit longer.
- 9:55Speaker 2: What?
- 9:56Speaker 5: We spend four and a half days a year A year.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Just doing this?
- 10:00Speaker 4: Rolling.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and I have learned some things that in theory
- 10:02Speaker 3: you could do in about 110 hours. Listen to the
- 10:06Speaker 3: entire Harry Potter audiobook series, which is about 117 hours.
- 10:11Speaker 3: So you could almost do every single book.
- 10:15Speaker 6: I love them.
- 10:15Speaker 4: That is productive.
- 10:17Speaker 6: Yeah, it is very productive.
- 10:17Speaker 4: That's time well spent. Okay, I like that.
- 10:19Speaker 7: All right.
- 10:20Speaker 3: You could learn the basics of a new language. Many
- 10:23Speaker 3: programs say 100 or so hours gets you to the
- 10:27Speaker 3: conversational basics.
- 10:29Speaker 2: You know.
- 10:29Speaker 6: I could.
- 10:30Speaker 3: You could. But will I? But will you?
- 10:32Speaker 4: Is there a different option? What else can we do?
- 10:35Speaker 3: Well, you could learn to play guitar or piano well
- 10:38Speaker 3: enough to play, you know, a handful of real songs.
- 10:42Speaker 3: 110 hours of practice goes a long way.
- 10:44Speaker 6: Okay, so back.
- 10:45Speaker 8: In COVID when I was sitting around doing nothing, I
- 10:48Speaker 8: did try to teach myself guitar.
- 10:50Speaker 6: Turns out I need someone else to teach me.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Oh, there you go.
- 10:54Speaker 3: I got you covered. Yeah, Gabe can play.
- 10:56Speaker 7: Okay. Okay.
- 10:57Speaker 3: And this one is, I think, well, these last two
- 11:00Speaker 3: are the craziest. You could walk about 330 miles. That
- 11:06Speaker 3: is roughly from Fargo to Minneapolis.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Nope.
- 11:10Speaker 3: So instead of doing all that scrolling, get to stepping.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, I would get so many stats.
- 11:16Speaker 6: I'd be so skinny.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Yes.
- 11:18Speaker 3: And then finally, this is the heartbreaker. You could sleep
- 11:21Speaker 3: an extra 20 minutes every morning for a year.
- 11:24Speaker 6: Okay, now that.
- 11:25Speaker 3: That is the one that breaks my heart. It's like,
- 11:27Speaker 3: oh man.
- 11:27Speaker 4: I'm disgusted with myself.
- 11:30Speaker 6: I need more sleep, like stat.
- 11:38Speaker 3: There is this mother who's gone viral as she has
- 11:41Speaker 3: spent 80 hours building her four-year-old a working refrigerator costume
- 11:46Speaker 3: out of recycled cardboard.
- 11:48Speaker 4: I love this mom.
- 11:49Speaker 3: So not just... A cardboard costume that looks like a refrigerator. No,
- 11:53Speaker 3: this thing works. It has handmade cardboard groceries inside, wheels,
- 11:58Speaker 3: and it even dispenses water and ice.
- 12:01Speaker 6: Is she a scientist?
- 12:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I was going to say, she's an engineer.
- 12:04Speaker 8: Right?
- 12:04Speaker 6: I'm sort of like, wow.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah, her son asked to be a fridge after seeing
- 12:09Speaker 3: one at Home Depot.
- 12:10Speaker 5: Ha ha ha!
- 12:11Speaker 1: I love kids.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I love this entire family.
- 12:13Speaker 6: Not the one at home, because everybody's got a fridge.
- 12:16Speaker 4: No, no, no, no.
- 12:17Speaker 6: The one at home, I want to be that fridge.
- 12:20Speaker 3: That's a real guy's guy right there. He saw a
- 12:24Speaker 3: fridge and went, now that's the one.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Yep. I think that's beautiful.
- 12:28Speaker 3: It's so cool. I wanted to know, what's the most
- 12:31Speaker 3: elaborate Halloween costume you've ever pulled off? You could even
- 12:34Speaker 3: add in if you want, like how many hours it took.
- 12:36Speaker 8: 701-280-1900.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Eight seven because i have never spent more than 50
- 12:42Speaker 3: minutes on a halloween costume and i did that one
- 12:45Speaker 3: time i.
- 12:45Speaker 6: Was just thinking that's impressive 50 minutes for.
- 12:47Speaker 5: A guy for a guy yeah what about you megan
- 12:50Speaker 5: because i've seen some of your costumes.
- 12:52Speaker 8: You like oh you do the thing i try i
- 12:54Speaker 8: would say probably one of my more elaborate was uh
- 12:58Speaker 8: maleficent from sleeping beauty yes because more of the makeup.
- 13:03Speaker 6: And putting on some of the costume.
- 13:05Speaker 8: I will say, at the time, I had just Mozzie,
- 13:07Speaker 8: and when I put the horns on, he literally barked
- 13:10Speaker 8: at me until I took them off. Oh, yes.
- 13:13Speaker 5: I mean, Maleficent is such a villain. I think that's
- 13:15Speaker 5: so impressive, though. I go all out for Halloween costumes,
- 13:18Speaker 5: but anything that has to do with doing for real,
- 13:21Speaker 5: legit makeup and whatever, that's really difficult for me, so
- 13:24Speaker 5: I'm very.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Impressed by that.
- 13:26Speaker 6: It wasn't great, but I mean, I.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Got it done, I guess.
- 13:28Speaker 2: No!
- 13:29Speaker 4: Oh, that was great.
- 13:31Speaker 8: Okay, Angie, but you're like the queen of costumes and ideas.
- 13:34Speaker 6: What was your most elaborate?
- 13:36Speaker 5: I was trying to think back, and I would have
- 13:38Speaker 5: to say probably last year for Crawloween, which, by the way,
- 13:43Speaker 5: fourth annual Crawloween this Halloween, Saturday, October 31st.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 13:47Speaker 4: So get to working on those costumes.
- 13:49Speaker 5: Last year for Crawloween, I was man about to lose
- 13:53Speaker 5: Christmas tree farm unless marketing exec cutie comes home for
- 13:56Speaker 5: the holidays and saves the day.
- 14:00Speaker 6: Was it the costume or the name that was elaborate?
- 14:02Speaker 4: Both.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Both.
- 14:04Speaker 5: But inspired by my love of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies.
- 14:08Speaker 4: But this one, it's because I had to.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Really show that I was a Christmas tree farmer. So
- 14:13Speaker 5: I had like a little sapling. I had three past
- 14:17Speaker 5: due bills because, you know, I was going to.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Lose the farm.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Those were the easiest items to get. You just went
- 14:24Speaker 3: to your mail.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Just kidding.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Anyway, he clocked me.
- 14:32Speaker 2: No.
- 14:32Speaker 5: And I had like a little name tag. I had
- 14:34Speaker 5: to do the work boots and like the gloves and everything.
- 14:37Speaker 5: And then, of course, I said, man, who whatever. So
- 14:40Speaker 5: I had to tuck all of that.
- 14:42Speaker 4: I have so much hair.
- 14:43Speaker 5: So I had to tuck all of it into like
- 14:45Speaker 5: a beanie thing and then also give myself. Well, I
- 14:49Speaker 5: have a base of facial hair for sure. But then
- 14:53Speaker 5: I had to add to that. So that one probably
- 14:56Speaker 5: was the one that took me the most time to
- 14:58Speaker 5: like put together.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 5: And then coming up with the ridiculous name because I
- 15:02Speaker 5: was like, how do I describe what this is?
- 15:04Speaker 6: The best name ever.
- 15:06Speaker 3: We do have Heidi on the phone. Heidi, what was
- 15:07Speaker 3: your costume?
- 15:09Speaker 7: One year, I dressed up as a haunted porcelain doll.
- 15:12Speaker 7: I spent furry hours doing cracked face makeup. I wore
- 15:15Speaker 7: creepy white contacts, and I had this old Victorian dress
- 15:18Speaker 7: that I found at a thrift store. I even practiced
- 15:21Speaker 7: walking like a doll at night. I scared so many
- 15:24Speaker 7: people that one guy actually refused to take a picture
- 15:27Speaker 7: with me.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I love that.
- 15:28Speaker 4: See? And the cracked makeup. Like, I could never do
- 15:31Speaker 4: something like that. That's so impressive.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Heidi was doing calisthenics to get her costume correct. Good
- 15:37Speaker 3: for you, Heidi. Terrifying. My most elaborate Halloween costume. So
- 15:41Speaker 3: the actual costume was very simple, but funny enough, it
- 15:44Speaker 3: was the makeup that took forever, but... I just had on,
- 15:46Speaker 3: you know, the basic black onesie for adults that has
- 15:50Speaker 3: the skeleton arms.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Well, I had this friend in my mid-20s who was
- 15:55Speaker 3: a theater major and knew how to do makeup really well.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 15:59Speaker 3: And they loaded my face up. Like, you see when
- 16:02Speaker 3: you go into restaurants and they have the crazy skeleton
- 16:05Speaker 3: face makeup paintings in there?
- 16:07Speaker 7: Yes.
- 16:07Speaker 3: It was so good. And the idea was from James Bay,
- 16:11Speaker 3: who we play here on Big 98.7.
- 16:12Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 3: He performed on Halloween in that outfit once. And I
- 16:17Speaker 3: went and played a show at this restaurant in Winona, Minnesota.
- 16:22Speaker 3: And I wanted to look like James Bay in the video.
- 16:24Speaker 3: So I had the skeleton paint, the hat and the full.
- 16:27Speaker 4: This is adorable.
- 16:28Speaker 6: I need to see pictures now.
- 16:29Speaker 3: I know.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:30Speaker 4: It didn't happen. That's amazing. I love that.
- 16:32Speaker 3: I will get one for you here.
- 16:33Speaker 9: 701-280-1987.
- 16:33Speaker 3: What's the longest you've ever spent? or the most elaborate
- 16:39Speaker 3: Halloween costume you've ever tried to make, which, once again,
- 16:42Speaker 3: you could be using for the fourth annual Crawlloween presented
- 16:45Speaker 3: by High Noon and Fireball Torch Vanilla coming up in
- 16:47Speaker 3: downtown Fargo on the 31st.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Drop it, drop it. Big 98.7. This is Am I
- 16:54Speaker 2: the Problem?
- 16:55Speaker 7: It's me.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I'm the problem, it's me. We'll hear one side of
- 17:00Speaker 2: the story and with your help. I am not the problem.
- 17:03Speaker 9: Decide if it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 17:07Speaker 6: That's right.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I am the problem. On Big 98.7.
- 17:13Speaker 4: We had Summer write in to us. Hi, guys.
- 17:16Speaker 5: Since Megan and Gabe have pets but Angie doesn't, I
- 17:20Speaker 5: figured you guys are good to ask this to and
- 17:23Speaker 5: also all the people listening. I was dating a guy
- 17:26Speaker 5: for three months and he broke up with me over
- 17:29Speaker 5: pet hair. Yup, pet hair. I have two dogs and
- 17:34Speaker 5: a cat and the pet hair is a bit much.
- 17:37Speaker 5: But I carry a lint brush with me everywhere I
- 17:40Speaker 5: go and vacuum my place twice a day. I stay
- 17:43Speaker 5: on top of it as much as I can because it's.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Not like I love pet hair all over the place.
- 17:49Speaker 5: But the other day, after this guy realized there was
- 17:52Speaker 5: some cat hair on his new bison hoodie, he flipped out.
- 17:57Speaker 5: I thought he was kind of joking at first, but nope.
- 18:01Speaker 5: He said he just can't take all the pet hair
- 18:05Speaker 5: everywhere all the time and that this just isn't going
- 18:09Speaker 5: to work out.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Is that real? No.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Do you think pet hair is.
- 18:12Speaker 5: An actual deal breaker or was he just looking.
- 18:16Speaker 4: For an out? Let us know what you think.
- 18:18Speaker 7: 701-280-1987.
- 18:18Speaker 4: We also have this up on the Big 98.7 Facebook page.
- 18:27Speaker 6: Okay. You don't want to be with that guy anyway.
- 18:29Speaker 6: If he doesn't want your pets, like whatever.
- 18:30Speaker 8: And also the fact that you vacuum twice a day
- 18:33Speaker 8: is the most impressive thing I've ever heard a pet
- 18:36Speaker 8: parent ever do.
- 18:37Speaker 3: There is nothing I do for my pets twice a day.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Ever.
- 18:41Speaker 6: I don't even feed them twice a day. They get
- 18:44Speaker 6: it once a day.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Okay.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Do you think that this is like for the guy,
- 18:48Speaker 5: because you guys do have pets. Do you think like
- 18:50Speaker 5: that's a fair deal breaker or.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Do you think he was probably lying?
- 18:54Speaker 6: I think he was just looking for an out. And
- 18:57Speaker 6: that just happened.
- 18:58Speaker 8: Like, I can see where you might get annoyed with Petfur,
- 19:00Speaker 8: but if he really liked.
- 19:02Speaker 6: Her and really cared about her, that would not be
- 19:05Speaker 6: the deal breaker right there.
- 19:07Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 19:07Speaker 3: That was his nice way of saying, I just don't
- 19:09Speaker 3: like your personality. No, it could also be maybe he
- 19:15Speaker 3: just didn't like the pets, but he knows he sounds
- 19:17Speaker 3: like a monster if he says that. Like, actually, your
- 19:20Speaker 3: two dogs, I really kind of just hate them. And
- 19:22Speaker 3: your cat's the worst. So that sounds terrible. So yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 3: I'm going to blame the pet hair.
- 19:26Speaker 6: Cause they probably hate him too.
- 19:28Speaker 8: Okay.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Either way, this sounds like a complete lie.
- 19:31Speaker 4: That's so funny. I have the opposite.
- 19:33Speaker 5: I don't have pets, but I'm someone who gets really
- 19:37Speaker 5: icked out by hair, like pet hair, other people's hair,
- 19:42Speaker 5: my own hair, even like I hate when I shed
- 19:44Speaker 5: cause I'd be shedding.
- 19:45Speaker 3: And you find it in the shower.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 19:48Speaker 4: And it grosses me out.
- 19:49Speaker 5: So I, if I were dating someone and it was
- 19:52Speaker 5: just pet hair, even.
- 19:54Speaker 4: If it– I mean I appreciate the trying. But if
- 19:57Speaker 4: I'm finding.
- 19:58Speaker 5: Pet hair all the time, I probably would break up.
- 20:02Speaker 5: I mean, it was only three months. It's not like
- 20:03Speaker 5: it was a year of dating.
- 20:05Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 20:05Speaker 4: I don't necessarily think.
- 20:07Speaker 5: Summer, if I had to guess, I think that maybe
- 20:09Speaker 5: he just really can't stand... Pet hair, and that's the thing.
- 20:13Speaker 5: But meanwhile, Gabe and Megan think that your personality is
- 20:17Speaker 5: the problem, and that's why he left.
- 20:19Speaker 2: No, I'm kidding.
- 20:20Speaker 4: I'm kidding.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I didn't say that. I said he said that.
- 20:24Speaker 6: That's right. Put the words in his mouth, not ours.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Okay, what do you think? 701-280-1987. Maybe you've been in.
- 20:32Speaker 5: A similar situation, and you could shed some light. We
- 20:35Speaker 5: also have this up on the big 98.7 Facebook page.
- 20:38Speaker 5: You did a dad joke right there.
- 20:39Speaker 3: You got the shed thing too?
- 20:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, that was an accident. Let us know
- 20:46Speaker 3: what you think this morning at 701-280-1987.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Summer wants to know if you think the guy that
- 20:58Speaker 5: broke up with her after three months was just looking
- 21:01Speaker 5: to get out or if it was a valid reason
- 21:04Speaker 5: to break up because he didn't like that she always
- 21:07Speaker 5: had a bunch of pet hair everywhere.
- 21:09Speaker 4: She has some pets.
- 21:10Speaker 8: And she vacuumed twice a day and had lint rollers. Girl,
- 21:13Speaker 8: you are above and beyond as a pet parent.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Today's Wednesday, right? I haven't vacuumed once this week.
- 21:20Speaker 6: I did once this month.
- 21:22Speaker 8: And that was this week.
- 21:24Speaker 3: And I have a dog and cats.
- 21:26Speaker 5: I've got two of the airiest little beasts you've ever seen.
- 21:29Speaker 3: I've contributed zero. You know what I did? I turned
- 21:31Speaker 3: on the robot vacuum. That's what I did.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Oh, there you go.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Okay, so Gabe and Megan, they contend that he was
- 21:38Speaker 5: just looking for an out. because pet hair shouldn't really
- 21:42Speaker 5: be a deal breaker. I think, Summer, you're probably a delight,
- 21:46Speaker 5: and really it was the pet hair was the deal breaker,
- 21:49Speaker 5: but that's based on that it would be a deal
- 21:51Speaker 5: breaker for me. So we do have some comments on
- 21:55Speaker 5: the Facebook page, right, Gabe?
- 21:57Speaker 3: Yes, we also do have some texts here, like this
- 22:00Speaker 3: one from Jenna from West Fargo. She said... she's kind
- 22:03Speaker 3: of uh she's really kind of going after the guy
- 22:05Speaker 3: here she said pet hair is not a deal breaker
- 22:08Speaker 3: it's a lint roller problem he was done with her
- 22:11Speaker 3: and found an excuse run summer you dodged one very
- 22:16Speaker 3: guy here to not just be like you know what
- 22:18Speaker 3: i just don't think this is working out you'll find
- 22:21Speaker 3: anything else anything else to get out of something you're
- 22:25Speaker 3: too afraid to do yourself.
- 22:26Speaker 8: Crystal puts up a great point over on our Facebook page.
- 22:30Speaker 8: You can't trust a person who doesn't like animals.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Right.
- 22:33Speaker 5: OK, that is also fair because I'm not trustworthy.
- 22:37Speaker 6: No, I'm kidding. You like animals.
- 22:39Speaker 2: No, I do.
- 22:40Speaker 6: I love animals.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I do.
- 22:42Speaker 4: It's just the pet hair for me would be.
- 22:45Speaker 7: I get it.
- 22:45Speaker 6: But he'd been with her for three months and he's
- 22:47Speaker 6: been dealing with it from the get go.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true. Because if it were me by day three,
- 22:52Speaker 4: I'd be like, I can't do it. I can't do it.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I can't. The hair is grossing me out.
- 22:54Speaker 6: That I can see.
- 22:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 6: You've been going. It's been going on for three months.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Okay, so I feel like now maybe I am changing
- 23:02Speaker 5: my hair.
- 23:02Speaker 2: We're bringing her.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Over to the furry side. Brittany over in Moorhead said,
- 23:07Speaker 3: if you vacuum twice a day and carry a lint brush,
- 23:09Speaker 3: you're doing more than most people. That's not about hair.
- 23:13Speaker 3: That's about him. And I'll tell you what, you are
- 23:14Speaker 3: doing way more than most people. And by most people,
- 23:16Speaker 3: I mean Megan and I here on And we have
- 23:20Speaker 3: Ashley in Moorhead as well. She said, honestly, this is
- 23:24Speaker 3: a deal breaker. She's on the other side. I'm a
- 23:26Speaker 3: clean freak and I couldn't do it either. It's about
- 23:28Speaker 3: lifestyle and that's okay. And that is true. Sometimes compatibility
- 23:32Speaker 3: just isn't it, which is exactly what Renee said in
- 23:36Speaker 3: South Fargo. He could have been nicer, but she knew
- 23:39Speaker 3: she had three animals. Compatibility matters and sometimes it just
- 23:42Speaker 3: doesn't match.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Nicer or just more honest?
- 23:46Speaker 4: Yeah, just we're out of summer.
- 23:48Speaker 5: I think what you can take away from this is
- 23:50Speaker 5: that you're an excellent pet parent in terms of picking
- 23:53Speaker 5: up all that hair.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Which is a great quality.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and that you're just better off without him anyway.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Bye. Starting off the day with something good.
- 24:06Speaker 9: This is Gabe's Good News on Big 98.7.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Today we have a great adventure story about this Irish
- 24:15Speaker 3: man named Ken who wanted to drive a yellow school
- 24:20Speaker 3: bus across America since he was eight years old after
- 24:24Speaker 3: seeing them on Simpsons and South Park. Take a listen
- 24:28Speaker 3: to this, dude.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I'm Irish. I'm over here to drive this yellow school
- 24:32Speaker 1: bus across the states of America.
- 24:33Speaker 2: I've wanted to do.
- 24:34Speaker 1: It since I'm like eight years of age.
- 24:36Speaker 2: I wanted to do.
- 24:36Speaker 1: This and I'm a tour guide back home in Ireland
- 24:39Speaker 1: and I met this wonderful woman, Jane, and she basically
- 24:43Speaker 1: made my dream come true by telling me that she
- 24:45Speaker 1: has an RV.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Well, Ken got a taste of Fargo with his first
- 24:47Speaker 2: bison tailgate.
- 24:48Speaker 1: He had his first shot ski and his first football game.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Now he's off to Yellowstone.
- 24:50Speaker 3: He's got to go to Oregon, San Diego, Mardi Gras
- 24:51Speaker 3: in New Orleans.
- 24:52Speaker 6: Yeah, right.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Even his skeptical mom, who thought there had to be
- 25:12Speaker 3: some catch with this bus, crocheted Jane, who you heard
- 25:15Speaker 3: him mention, a blanket as a thank you. What an
- 25:18Speaker 3: adventurous dude.
- 25:19Speaker 6: Okay, the fact that at eight years old, that was
- 25:22Speaker 6: his goals. I love it. And now he's making it happen.
- 25:25Speaker 6: I love it so much.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Follow your dreams. And I hope he and Jane get together.
- 25:30Speaker 5: I don't want details that would make it seem like
- 25:32Speaker 5: they won't.
- 25:32Speaker 3: All right. Well, in the version that I'll tell you
- 25:34Speaker 3: after the show, they end up together. All right. Yay.
- 25:37Speaker 3: All right. Don't forget my favorite quote. The world's full
- 25:40Speaker 3: of nice people. If you can't find one, you got
- 25:42Speaker 3: to be one. And broken crayons, they still color.
