Transcript
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jack Wars fans, welcome in to do Vault Daily, presented by GenJack.com.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan O'Luga, thanks so much for being here Tuesday, January, 20th, the off-season rolls on, and this is a week that has been filled with.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: Some pretty wild coaching news, obviously as we have seen with the bills firing Sean McDermott promoting Brandon Bean, a lot of different things going on, lots of higherings happening around the league as well.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: You have Stifancy to Atlanta, you have Harbott in New York, you have halfway to Miami, and now you have Robert Sala to the Tennessee Titans.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to get into that.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about some updates on Anthony Camponele, Grant Yedinsky, all that good stuff.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out jingjag.com.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new dov all gear, help support the channel a lot, look good while doing it.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hype up the video somehow.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how that works, but if you can do it, thank you.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: No Matt Nagy to Tennessee, which is what I think all Jack's fans were hoping for.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: No Matt Nagy to Tennessee is the head coach.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: I just think that the, in the court of public opinion, Matt Nagy is just like a laughable head coaching candidate, not only based on how things went last time around for him as the Chicago Bears Head Coach, but also just, you know, uninspired kind of coach on the
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: a good hire, a good potential hire.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: So Maggie's not going to be the one in Tennessee, which a lot of jacks fans were hoping for, but probably the funniest other outcome that you could possibly have for a number of reasons, Robert Sala, and not funny in that he can't be successful.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Robert's all can be successful.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: Now, did he have a successful stent as the jet-ted coach overall resounding no?
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: He did have them playing defense at an extremely high level and he is a defensive coach.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: But why is it funny?
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, for one,
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: The Liam Cohen, Robert Sala, Saga throughout the week leading up to the Jaguars taking on the 49ers in San Francisco, this past season was absolute gold.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: And then what happened after the game, Robert Sala basically said the Jaguars steel signs, you know, too long didn't read, that's what happened.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Said the Jaguars steel signs, they're very good at it.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Said it wasn't cheating, but I mean, you're saying they steal signs, so it's kind of
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen, Jacksonville Jaguars, they go to San Francisco, they beat the 49ers, and after the game, Liam Cohen says, keep my name out, Joe, bleeping mouth.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: It does not get much more cinema than that in the NFL.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: It does not.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is an entertainment business and that is entertainment of the highest order.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: So now they get to face each other twice a year.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: They get to kind of build their teams around each other to a certain extent.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: Um, the Titans got swept by the Jaguar's this year as we all know, beautiful thing.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: Love to see it.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Borgonzi is their general manager and the report is that he's the one that ended up picking Robert Sala and we have seen a just really weird hiring and firing cycle with the Titans.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's been multiple, multiple regimes now where it's like, you hire the GM,
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: You hire the head then later on you hire the head coach then you fire the GM and the head coach sticks around and then
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: the head coach ends up getting fired and then you hire a new GM and it's just like they're playing musical chairs with with these two positions and now if Mike Borgonzi is the one who made this decision to bring in Robert Sala they should be tied and they should be in a position to then where if it doesn't work out they should be able to clean house properly and not just have this like lame duck situation with the GM and then
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: these two should now be tied together and I say that, you know, I'd be happy if the titans continue to operate as a dysfunctional franchise, but if you're talking about being serious here and becoming a functional franchise, these two need to be tied together and if it works for them, great for them, if not, they need to do a clean slate situation next time, right?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's absolutely what needs to happen, who knows if that's what will happen, but probably the funniest other outcome other than Matt Nagu.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe even funnier.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: Then Robert Sala also feels spurned by the Jack Wars.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's probably part of why the Liam Cohen comments happened.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: He was here to interview for the head coaching job last year.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: when the jacks were like, mmm, actually, we're gonna go with Liam going, sorry.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, good stuff.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: Just, you know, adding fuel to the fire of the Jack Wars and Titans rivalry.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: And right now, you could definitely argue that Houston is the bigger rival of the moment like in the current arc between the Jack Wars and the Texans and the AFC South, the Texans are the bigger rival at the moment.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: But for the Jack Wars franchise history,
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: the titans are their archnimesis.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: They might be taking a little bit of a nap right now, they're not as competitive, but that is the Jaguar's archnimesis, making no bones about it.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, good stuff there.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't be really funny to see them interact, to see them talk about each other, and all that good stuff.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure they're going to try to keep it very respectful, but you never know.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen's a fiery guy and so is Robert Sala.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Robert Sala's like,
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: into you so yeah good stuff there I'm excited for it and functionally who's going to be their offensive coordinator could it be Matt and Aggie he's not going back to Kansas City they're hiring Eric we enemy back I don't know I don't know who they're offensive coordinator will be there's some good candidates out there and candidates that Robert Sala has worked with I've seen Mike McDaniel brought up I would be a good higher I think
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that this build, this plan could work for the Titans.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: They have Cam Ward in place.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: They have a really good defensive front in place.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: They have some pieces on the offensive line.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a lot of, they've still got a lot of work to do with their roster.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: They do.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's no question about that, but they have their head coach, they have their quarterback, they have a defensive front that can be problematic for opponents.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: Now they got to get that offensive coordinator and just continue to build up that talent base.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anybody is expecting a huge year one for the Titans necessarily and let, I mean, you never know.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: They all have the ability to, but if they get camward some more legit receivers and they can protect him a little bit better,
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: You never know, they could be a really difficult team to be in 2020, uh, six here.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: Um, again, be an enemy of actually K.C.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe Matt and Aggie could be an offensive coordinator candidate for them.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: That would be really funny as well.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Anthony Campanylei interviewed with the Ravens yesterday, I believe.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what you're paying attention to now because the dolphins are hiring Jeff Haffley.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, crisis is averted there and I hate to say that because like, I want to root for anything he can't believe he's really the person to get what he deserves.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: He does deserve a head coaching job.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'll do a good job wherever he ends up being a head coach.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: But, selfishly, you want to see him in Jacksonville.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: You want to see this group finish the job.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: Dolphin's hiring Jeff Haffley, who obviously and then he can't believe they worked for in 2024.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: As the linebacker's coach and run game coordinator on defense for the Packers, Jeff Haffley was the Packers Defense Coordinator.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: So you've had multiple reports, though, of other head coaching candidates getting second interviews now this week with the Ravens.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: We have not gotten that report or A report stating that with Anthony Campanile, but you've seen Joe Brady and Anthony Weaver, the Dolphins former defensive coordinator.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: both reportedly getting second interviews this week with the Ravens and the Ravens had a sweeping search.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: So it was always going to be a bit of a long shot for Campanella to land that job.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we're out of the woods yet, and I think that he would be a great fit in Baltimore.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the Jaguars are out of the woods yet, though, with this one.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're going to interview a lot of guys second time.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: So keep an eye on it.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: But at the moment, I think it's at least somewhat positive that you're getting other coaches getting reported second interviews in Campanile has not been reported for a second interview yet.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: Remains to be seen if he will be.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: And then Grant Yedinsky, apparently the rounds were blown away.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen reports of that that they loved what they saw or heard from Grant Yedinsky, which is not surprising.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's a really bright young mind and football, really smart guy, great communicator.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you're out of the woods with either of the offensive or defensive coordinated for the Jaguars yet, but keep your fingers crossed if you want to keep those guys around, right?
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars' assistant offensive line coach did accept the job at Stanford for the offensive line coach there.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't talk about that because you're getting down into the nitty gritty, getting into the weeds, when you're talking about assistant offensive line coach.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but that is something, you know, the jaguars will probably be looking to add a, um, new offensive line, assistant offensive line coach, right?
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just trying to pull this up actually.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's happened a few days ago.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was Friday.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I'm not even going to attempt to pronounce his name because I don't know how to pronounce it properly, but
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's assistant offensive line coach is now the offensive line coach for the Stanford Cardinal in college.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: So good for him.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars will probably be looking to replace that position, something to just keep an eye on as well.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: In summary, Robert Sala, Titan said coach, very funny situation, but it could work out, got to keep an eye on
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: Mike at the job, who knows, if they do, the Jaguars will have a big role to fill.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then Anthony Campanile will be looking to see if he gets a second interview with the Baltimore Ravens.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: Again, really appreciate y'all being here.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'll check out Jimjag.com, pick up some new Dooval gear, hype up the video somehow.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I'm not sure how to do that, but y'all have a good one.
