Latest / Your Utmost Life / The Real Reason You Keep Starting Over Every Monday (Why Your Week Falls Apart)
Transcript
- 0:00Misty Celli: You can be busy every single day of the week and still look up on Friday and realize you didn't move the needle on anything that actually matters to you.
- 0:07Misty Celli: Busy is easy.
- 0:08Misty Celli: Busy will fill every hour you give it, but busy is not the same as progress.
- 0:12Misty Celli: And deep down you already know the difference.
- 0:14Misty Celli: You can feel it.
- 0:15Misty Celli: The exhaustion that comes from a productive week feels different than exhaustion that comes from a week you just survived.
- 0:20Misty Celli: One fills you, one erases you.
- 0:22Misty Celli: And most weeks you've been erased.
- 0:25Misty Celli: Not because you're doing it wrong, but because nobody ever helped you build a week that was actually built for your life.
- 0:30Misty Celli: If you ever felt like you were living for everyone else, don't know who you are anymore, and you catch yourself thinking, is this all there is?
- 0:37Misty Celli: Even though you know you were made for more, you're in the right place.
- 0:40Misty Celli: You were never meant to disappear into your roles, but somewhere between everyone's needs and expectations, you became invisible, disconnected, and living on autopilot.
- 0:48Misty Celli: This podcast is where you learn the principles and strategic tools to reclaim who you are.
- 0:52Misty Celli: Design a life that is fully and intentionally yours so you can show up every day as the utmost woman you were always meant to be.
- 0:58Misty Celli: Not just for everyone else, but finally fully for yourself.
- 1:01Misty Celli: This is where you begin the process of becoming your utmost self, not by accident, not by obligation, but by design.
- 1:08Misty Celli: Reclaiming a life that feels like yours again.
- 1:10Misty Celli: Welcome to your utmost life podcast.
- 1:12Misty Celli: I'm Misty, identity and self-leadership coach for Ambitious Mothers.
- 1:15Misty Celli: If you are a woman who starts strong on Monday and by Thursday you don't even recognize what happened to the week, it's not a time management problem.
- 1:23Misty Celli: It's not a motivation problem, and it's absolutely not a you problem.
- 1:27Misty Celli: Here's the deal Momentum is not a feeling.
- 1:30Misty Celli: It is a structure.
- 1:31Misty Celli: And if your structure isn't built right, it doesn't matter how motivated you are on Monday morning, because by Thursday, you're going to be running on fumes and wondering what happened.
- 1:41Misty Celli: Here's what I know about you.
- 1:43Misty Celli: You are a woman who carries a lot, and you've probably been caring for so long that you don't even notice the weight of it anymore.
- 1:50Misty Celli: It just feels like life.
- 1:52Misty Celli: It feels like any normal day of the week.
- 1:54Misty Celli: You wake up and before your feet hit the floor, the list has already started.
- 1:58Misty Celli: What does everyone need today?
- 2:00Misty Celli: What did I forget?
- 2:01Misty Celli: What's falling behind?
- 2:03Misty Celli: And somewhere in the middle of all of that, you are losing ground.
- 2:07Misty Celli: Not because you are failing, not because you aren't capable, but because you have been running someone else's life.
- 2:14Misty Celli: And what I want to show you today is what it feels like to finally run your own.
- 2:18Misty Celli: You don't have to earn the right to have a life that works.
- 2:23Misty Celli: You don't have to reach some sort of threshold of productivity before you deserve a week that feels like yours.
- 2:29Misty Celli: You are allowed to want that right now, not someday.
- 2:33Misty Celli: So take a breath, let that land, and let's do this.
- 2:37Misty Celli: So here's what I believe has been happening.
- 2:39Misty Celli: You have tried systems before.
- 2:41Misty Celli: Maybe you've done the planners, the habit trackers, the Sunday resets.
- 2:45Misty Celli: You've gone all in for two weeks, maybe three, and then life happens.
- 2:49Misty Celli: Someone gets sick, a deadline shifts, a season gets hard, and the whole system collapses like a house of cards because it wasn't built for your life.
- 2:58Misty Celli: It was built for someone else's idea of a productive life.
- 3:01Misty Celli: And when it collapses, here's what you tell yourself.
- 3:04Misty Celli: See, I just can't manage things.
- 3:06Misty Celli: I don't have the discipline.
- 3:08Misty Celli: Why can't I get my act together?
- 3:10Misty Celli: Can I tell you what I hear underneath that?
- 3:12Misty Celli: I hear you've been living someone else's version of your week and wondering why it feels wrong.
- 3:17Misty Celli: That's not a discipline problem.
- 3:19Misty Celli: That is not a you problem.
- 3:21Misty Celli: That is someone else's life dressed up as yours.
- 3:24Misty Celli: You feel the weight of another week coming at you, and you think, if I could just get organized, if I could just be consistent, if I could just figure out what's wrong with me.
- 3:35Misty Celli: There's nothing wrong with you.
- 3:37Misty Celli: You have been using the wrong tools for the wrong life.
- 3:40Misty Celli: But you know what's interesting?
- 3:42Misty Celli: You keep trying.
- 3:43Misty Celli: You keep pulling out the planner, you keep starting on Monday.
- 3:46Misty Celli: And I think that's worth paying attention to because a woman who didn't have it in her to be living an utmost life, she wouldn't keep trying.
- 3:54Misty Celli: The fact that you are still searching for the thing that works, that is your utmost self buried inside you, saying, There is a version of this week that is actually mine.
- 4:03Misty Celli: I just haven't found it yet.
- 4:05Misty Celli: She's right.
- 4:06Misty Celli: And today we're going to find it.
- 4:07Misty Celli: Here's what I want you to really sit with for a second because I think we breeze past this and we shouldn't.
- 4:13Misty Celli: When you don't have a weekly structure that holds, when every week is just reactive and survival and triage, here's what it costs you.
- 4:20Misty Celli: First, it costs you your energy.
- 4:22Misty Celli: When you don't know what your most important thing is, your brain is making a thousand micro decisions every single day.
- 4:29Misty Celli: What should I do next?
- 4:31Misty Celli: What should I eat?
- 4:32Misty Celli: Is this the most important thing?
- 4:33Misty Celli: Am I behind?
- 4:34Misty Celli: Should I be doing something else right now?
- 4:36Misty Celli: That is exhausting, genuinely exhausting in a way that has nothing to do with how much sleep you got.
- 4:42Misty Celli: Decision fatigue is real and it is quietly draining you every single week.
- 4:46Misty Celli: Second, your progress.
- 4:48Misty Celli: Here's what I've noticed.
- 4:49Misty Celli: And maybe you've noticed this too.
- 4:51Misty Celli: You can be incredibly busy.
- 4:53Misty Celli: You can hustle all week long and feel like you ran a marathon and then look up on Friday afternoon and realize you didn't actually move the needle on anything that matters.
- 5:01Misty Celli: You were busy, but you were productive toward your actual life.
- 5:04Misty Celli: No, those are two completely different things.
- 5:07Misty Celli: Busy is easy, progress is intentional.
- 5:10Misty Celli: The third cost, and this is the one that I really want you to hear, your sense of self.
- 5:15Misty Celli: When you constantly don't follow through on what you said you were going to do, not because you're lazy or because you don't care, but because the structure wasn't right, you start to lose trust in yourself.
- 5:25Misty Celli: You start to feel like a woman who doesn't finish things.
- 5:28Misty Celli: That lie creeps in quietly and settles deep.
- 5:31Misty Celli: And before you know it, you're just not struggling with your calendar.
- 5:34Misty Celli: You're struggling to believe that you're capable of the life that you want.
- 5:38Misty Celli: Here's the truth the reason your systems haven't held is not because you don't hold.
- 5:42Misty Celli: It is because you haven't built a structure rooted in who you are and what actually matters to you.
- 5:47Misty Celli: Every productivity system you've ever tried was built for the generic woman, this mythical woman with endless time and a blank calendar and no one depending on her.
- 5:55Misty Celli: That's not you.
- 5:56Misty Celli: You are an ambitious mother.
- 5:58Misty Celli: You have a full life and you need a life that was built for your life, not someone else's.
- 6:03Misty Celli: That is exactly what we're going to build today.
- 6:05Misty Celli: I used to think momentum was something you felt.
- 6:08Misty Celli: Like some mornings you wake up and you have it, you're energized, you're clear, you know exactly what you're doing, and other mornings you don't.
- 6:14Misty Celli: And for a long time, I treated momentum like weather.
- 6:16Misty Celli: It either showed up sunny and bright or it was dark and gloomy.
- 6:20Misty Celli: And I was just looking outside wondering if I needed an umbrella or flip-flops.
- 6:24Misty Celli: And what that meant practically was that my best weeks were when I felt good, and my worst were when I didn't.
- 6:29Misty Celli: And I was completely at the mercy of my own emotional state.
- 6:33Misty Celli: And let me tell you, that is not a suitable way to run a life.
- 6:36Misty Celli: The shift happened when I started asking a different question.
- 6:39Misty Celli: I stopped asking how do I feel today, and I started asking, what does my life need today?
- 6:44Misty Celli: And who do I need to be to show up for it?
- 6:46Misty Celli: And that question cracked something open because here's what I came to understand.
- 6:51Misty Celli: And this is the thing that changed everything for me.
- 6:53Misty Celli: Who you are determines what you design.
- 6:56Misty Celli: What you design determines what you create.
- 6:58Misty Celli: That's it.
- 6:59Misty Celli: That's the whole thing.
- 7:00Misty Celli: Your identity is not separate from your week.
- 7:03Misty Celli: It's the source of it.
- 7:04Misty Celli: When you know who you are, when you have decided who or you are choosing to be, the week stops being something that happens to you.
- 7:11Misty Celli: It becomes something you designed.
- 7:13Misty Celli: And what you designed produces what you create, not by accident, but by intention.
- 7:18Misty Celli: The utmost woman doesn't wait for motivation to move.
- 7:21Misty Celli: She has already decided who she is.
- 7:23Misty Celli: And because she knows who she is, she knows what her week is supposed to do.
- 7:27Misty Celli: She shows up for the life she designed, and that life produces momentum.
- 7:31Misty Celli: And momentum produces the feeling of being alive and on purpose that she was chasing all along.
- 7:37Misty Celli: The feeling comes from the decision, not the other way around.
- 7:40Misty Celli: So when I finally understood that, two things changed in how I built my week.
- 7:44Misty Celli: The first is your weekly rhythm, the shape of your week, what it holds, and what it protects.
- 7:50Misty Celli: The second is your do, your dedicated utmost execution, the thing that you show up for consistently at your highest standard that moves your most important work forward.
- 8:00Misty Celli: Your rhythm is what you design.
- 8:02Misty Celli: Your do is what you create.
- 8:04Misty Celli: And underneath both of them, the foundation that makes either one possible is knowing who you are.
- 8:10Misty Celli: When you know all three, you stop waking up on Monday morning asking, what am I even doing this week?
- 8:16Misty Celli: You already know.
- 8:17Misty Celli: You already decided, and you already know who you are choosing to be inside it.
- 8:22Misty Celli: Your weekly rhythm is the intentional architecture of your week.
- 8:26Misty Celli: It is not a to-do list or a schedule.
- 8:28Misty Celli: It is the shape of your week, the recurring structure that holds your most important things so that they do not get dropped and so the week does not get to decide for you.
- 8:37Misty Celli: Think of it like this: without a rhythm, every week, it's a blank page.
- 8:41Misty Celli: And a blank page sounds like freedom, but for most of us, it's actually terrifying because into that blank page floods everything that is urgent, everything that is loud, everything that demands attention first.
- 8:53Misty Celli: And the things that matter most, the things that are important but not screaming, they get pushed to the edge again and again and again.
- 9:02Misty Celli: A weekly rhythm changes that.
- 9:04Misty Celli: It says these things happen on these days.
- 9:07Misty Celli: They are not negotiable, they are protected, they are designed.
- 9:11Misty Celli: Inside your rhythm live what I call your anchors.
- 9:14Misty Celli: Your anchors are the two or three recurring moments that when they hold, your whole week holds, not 20 things, two or three.
- 9:22Misty Celli: The ones that create momentum when they happen consistently.
- 9:25Misty Celli: Here's what anchors look like in a real week: a Sunday planning session where you look at the week ahead and decide what matters before the week decides for you.
- 9:34Misty Celli: A momentum block that protects your energy so you have something left for the things that matter.
- 9:39Misty Celli: A learning window, even 30 minutes, where you invest in the woman you are becoming, not just the roles that you are filling.
- 9:45Misty Celli: Your anchors will look different from mine.
- 9:47Misty Celli: A woman with teenagers has different anchors than a woman whose kids are in college.
- 9:51Misty Celli: A woman building a business has different protective blocks than a woman managing a household and aging parents.
- 9:57Misty Celli: That is the point.
- 9:58Misty Celli: Your rhythm is not someone else's template.
- 10:01Misty Celli: It's yours, built around your life, your energy, your season.
- 10:04Misty Celli: But here's what every anchor has in common, regardless of what it looks like.
- 10:08Misty Celli: It must be decided.
- 10:10Misty Celli: It must be dedicated to, and it must be followed through with action and intention, not just good intentions that evaporate by Tuesday.
- 10:19Misty Celli: The question is, what are your anchors?
- 10:22Misty Celli: What are the two or three reoccurring things that when they hold, your week holds?
- 10:27Misty Celli: If you do not your week will decide, and I promise you , , the week will not choose the same things you would.
- 10:34Misty Celli: Now I want to talk about your DUE, and I want to start by telling you what it stands for because the definition is the teaching.
- 10:40Misty Celli: D is dedicated, committed to, not tried when you feel like it, not squeezed in if everything else cooperates, decided in advance and shown up for consistently, even when it's hard, even when motivation has left the building.
- 10:54Misty Celli: You is utmost, your highest standard, not someone else's definition of excellence.
- 11:00Misty Celli: Yours, determined by who you actually are, your utmost self.
- 11:04Misty Celli: The version of you that does not settle, does not phone it in, and does not produce work that is beneath what she is capable of.
- 11:11Misty Celli: E is executed.
- 11:12Misty Celli: It exists.
- 11:13Misty Celli: It is the fruit, the thing that is real when you are done, not a thought, not a plan, not a great intention.
- 11:19Misty Celli: Something you actually produced, pursued with your greatest effort, moved forward with with full intention.
- 11:25Misty Celli: Your DUE is not just what you produce.
- 11:28Misty Celli: It is how you show up to produce it.
- 11:30Misty Celli: The dedication and standard determine the quality of what gets made.
- 11:34Misty Celli: And what gets made moves the needle toward your goal, toward your life, toward the woman you are longing to become.
- 11:41Misty Celli: Here's what I see happen over and over with ambitious women.
- 11:45Misty Celli: They fill their week with tasks, necessary tasks even, but tasks that are not their due.
- 11:51Misty Celli: And they look up on Friday, and the most important thing, the thing that actually moves the life that they designed forward, did not happen again.
- 12:00Misty Celli: So let me give you a tool right now to identify yours.
- 12:04Misty Celli: Three questions.
- 12:05Misty Celli: Answer them honestly, and your DUE will reveal itself.
- 12:08Misty Celli: Question one, what is the one thing that if I did not do it this week, nothing else would meaningfully move forward?
- 12:15Misty Celli: Question two, what is the thing I keep saying I will get to and keep not getting to?
- 12:21Misty Celli: Question three, what would Friday feel like if I had done just this one thing consistently with dedication and with my utmost standard?
- 12:29Misty Celli: The answer that shows up across all three, that is your due.
- 12:33Misty Celli: Name it, write it down if you can, and then ask yourself the one question that matters next.
- 12:38Misty Celli: Is it in my rhythm?
- 12:40Misty Celli: Is it protected or is it just hoped for?
- 12:43Misty Celli: Because hope is not a design.
- 12:45Misty Celli: A dedicated, decided, protected block is.
- 12:48Misty Celli: And because I want you to actually identify your due and protect it today, not just think about it.
- 12:53Misty Celli: I put together a free one-page planning sheet where you name your due, lock in your weekly rhythm anchors right now.
- 13:00Misty Celli: It takes five minutes.
- 13:01Misty Celli: You can grab it at yourutmost.com forward slash 54.
- 13:06Misty Celli: Link is in the show notes.
- 13:08Misty Celli: Okay, let's talk about what this actually looks like in your week.
- 13:12Misty Celli: I know that voice that is speaking to you quietly in your head, and I want to address it before it gets loud.
- 13:18Misty Celli: This sounds great, but my life is not structured enough for this.
- 13:22Misty Celli: It's too unpredictable.
- 13:24Misty Celli: Things come, people need me.
- 13:26Misty Celli: I hear you, and I want to say something in the most loving way I know how to say it because it might sting a little.
- 13:32Misty Celli: A lack of structure doesn't come from an unpredictable life.
- 13:36Misty Celli: It comes from a decision, either consciously or unconsciously, that everyone else's needs get to reorganize your week before your most important thing gets protected.
- 13:45Misty Celli: Your life is not uniquely unpredictable.
- 13:48Misty Celli: I know that sounds harsh, but I'm not here to make you feel better about a structure that isn't working.
- 13:52Misty Celli: I'm here to help you build one that does.
- 13:54Misty Celli: Every ambitious mother I know has a full, complicated, demanding life.
- 13:58Misty Celli: The difference is not the chaos level.
- 14:01Misty Celli: The difference is whether she decided that her most important thing gets protected and done in a spirit of the chaos that rushes in to claim the week.
- 14:07Misty Celli: The rhythm doesn't eliminate the interruptions.
- 14:10Misty Celli: It gives you a container to come back to when the interruptions are over.
- 14:13Misty Celli: The voice might say, but I've tried to schedule things before and it never sticks.
- 14:18Misty Celli: Yes, because you schedule tasks.
- 14:20Misty Celli: This is different.
- 14:21Misty Celli: We are talking about identity level structure, a week designed around who you are, what matters to you, and what you're building.
- 14:28Misty Celli: That holds differently than a to-do list.
- 14:30Misty Celli: A to-do list is external, a rhythm is yours.
- 14:34Misty Celli: Remember, you are more than everyone's everything.
- 14:37Misty Celli: You are someone and you hold just as much importance as those you love.
- 14:41Misty Celli: And if part of you is thinking, I've tried and failed so many times that maybe I'm just not capable of this, I want you to hear me.
- 14:49Misty Celli: That belief is not evidence.
- 14:52Misty Celli: That is the residue of systems created by someone else and weren't built for you or by you, producing results that look like failure but were actually just misfit.
- 15:01Misty Celli: You are not the problem.
- 15:03Misty Celli: You were giving the wrong life design advice.
- 15:06Misty Celli: You don't become a woman with momentum.
- 15:08Misty Celli: You remember that you are one and you build the structure that lets her move.
- 15:12Misty Celli: I want you to imagine a Tuesday, not some far off someday Tuesday, this Tuesday or next.
- 15:19Misty Celli: You wake up before the house is fully awake, and before you even pick up your phone, before the requests start, the notifications start peeing, before the day starts running you, you open your eyes, you take a deep breath, slowly exhale, and you feel peace.
- 15:34Misty Celli: You know what today is about, you know what your most important thing is, and you know how you are going to show up.
- 15:41Misty Celli: There is something in your body that is different.
- 15:43Misty Celli: It's not anxious, it's not bracing for impact, it's ready, quiet, steadily ready.
- 15:50Misty Celli: You move through your morning with a kind of intentionality that you haven't always had, not perfect or uninterrupted.
- 15:56Misty Celli: Your husband asks you something, you answer it, your college kid texts, you respond, but you come back to yourself because you know where you're going today.
- 16:04Misty Celli: And for the first time in a long time, maybe longer than you want to admit, your week feels like yours.
- 16:10Misty Celli: By midday, you have done the most important thing.
- 16:13Misty Celli: You're DUE.
- 16:14Misty Celli: It's done.
- 16:15Misty Celli: And the rest of the day, even if it gets messy, even if something needs you or someone, or even if the afternoon unravels a little, you already did the thing that mattered and you feel it.
- 16:24Misty Celli: You feel it in a way that is hard to describe to someone who has never felt it before.
- 16:29Misty Celli: It's the feeling of being the woman you always knew you could be, not in a dramatic way, in the quietest, most steady way.
- 16:36Misty Celli: Like, yes, this is who I am.
- 16:39Misty Celli: This is the woman I actually am.
- 16:41Misty Celli: And at the end of that Tuesday, you don't fall into bed feeling empty and behind.
- 16:46Misty Celli: You fall into bed feeling spent maybe, tired maybe, but alive in the right way.
- 16:51Misty Celli: Like someone who led her day instead of surviving it.
- 16:54Misty Celli: That is not a fantasy.
- 16:56Misty Celli: That is what happens when you design your week and show up for it.
- 17:00Misty Celli: And you are allowed to want that, not someday, but today.
- 17:03Misty Celli: Here's what I want you to walk away with today.
- 17:06Misty Celli: Not a concept, not inspiration that fades by dinner, something real that you actually do.
- 17:11Misty Celli: This week, I want you to do two things.
- 17:13Misty Celli: First, name your do, your dedicated utmost execution.
- 17:18Misty Celli: What is the one thing that if you produced it consistently, moves your most important goal forward right now?
- 17:24Misty Celli: Name it, write it down, say it out loud if you have to, make it real and make it yours.
- 17:29Misty Celli: Second, find two protected blocks in your week where DUE gets done, not hoped for, not squeezed in if everything else cooperates, protected on the calendar, decided.
- 17:40Misty Celli: That is the beginning of your rhythm.
- 17:41Misty Celli: That is the beginning of a week that is actually designed for your life.
- 17:45Misty Celli: I want you to choose yourself.
- 17:47Misty Celli: So I made it easy.
- 17:48Misty Celli: Grab your one-page tool to make both of those things happen right now.
- 17:52Misty Celli: I put it together for you.

- 18:09Misty Celli: The utmost woman doesn't wait to feel ready before she designs her week.
- 18:14Misty Celli: She designs it, she shows up for it, and the life she has been aching for starts taking shape one decision at a time.
- 18:20Misty Celli: You are not starting from scratch.
- 18:22Misty Celli: You are returning to yourself.
- 18:24Misty Celli: And the woman you are returning to, she knows exactly who she is.
- 18:28Misty Celli: She leads her own week.
- 18:30Misty Celli: She shows up for her own life.
- 18:31Misty Celli: She is not behind.
- 18:33Misty Celli: She is not feeling.
- 18:34Misty Celli: She's right here.
- 18:35Misty Celli: She has always been right here, whispering that she's ready.
- 18:38Misty Celli: She has been ready.
- 18:40Misty Celli: Now you are too.
- 18:41Misty Celli: Remember, you are more than everyone's everything.
- 18:44Misty Celli: You are someone.
- 18:45Misty Celli: I'll see you next week.
- 18:47Misty Celli: Make sure you grab your one page tool, yourutmost.com forward slash 54, so you can take action quickly and get momentum started this week.
