  and Jay g Hertzler, and so we're just be walking around and having a

  right? This is one of those rare times where the actors actually got in

  costume and makeup. They both look great and we really had a good time

  wait, that feels weird. It feels weird. Yeah, you fished up

  and playing on you. You and you're the horse. You came in.

  If you've never been to a comic con before, it can be pretty overwhelming.

  There is something here for everyone, and I do mean everyone every genre.

  Uh. If you're into comic books, if you're into anime, sci

  fi, fantasy, board games, uh, cartoons, anything. Uh.

  If you're into it, there is something here representing it. Uh. There
• 1:53
  are vendors as far as the eye can see, selling everything from comic books
• 1:57
  to video games, to stickers to hand crafted items. Again, for just
• 2:05
  about every genre, there's something here for everyone. There is a ton to
• 2:09
  look at and interact with. There are hundreds of people dressed up as their
• 2:15
  favorite characters from their favorite movies and video games and comics. It's really a
• 2:23
  sight to see. One of my favorite things to do at comic con or
• 2:29
  convention is attend the guest panels. This is where an actor, writer,
• 2:34
  or other celebrity sits down on stage and talks to the audience. Sometimes members
• 2:38
  of the audience are invited to step up to the mic and ask a question.

  As I stepped up to the mic, the conversation had turned towards school
• 2:46
  fight songs. An a do you have from I was in the army?

  We have a fight army song? Yes, let's heart a little bit of

  that. Okay, First to fight for the right and to build the Nation's

  Mike and the Army goes road League until the battle time and the Army Hotel

  little bit about your birth and what you guys do. Are absolutely hair Grand

  Rapids Comic count where the USS Grand Patoski West Michigan chapter of the International Star

  Trek Fan Club. I'm also the regional coordinator of Preaching thirteen of SFI,
• 6:25
  which is Michigan and Eastern Canada. I'll stand in, I'll stay. So

  you guys have a chapter Grand Raps and there's chapters. Well, yeah,

  since we got started in twenty nineteen, we kind of owe that to g
• 6:35
  R Condo. Mark Hodges, who is a longtime business associate of mine,

  brought the idea to me back in twenty nineteen. We debuted the chapter here
• 6:43
  in twenty nineteen. Since then we've grown into three more chapters in Michigan,
• 6:46
  where before there were not The SFI as a whole really wasn't a thing in
• 6:50
  Michigan. Now we're growing. Okay, how can people get hold of here

  booth here representing just about every single genre, and I ran into one with

  our favorite neighborhood parent, Normal Investigators. Hey everybody, I'm Scott. I'm

  here at the Grand Rapids Comic Con twenty twenty three. I'm at a Ghostbusters
• 7:30
  booth and I'm here with my friend Dan. Dan, you want to tell
• 7:33
  me a little bit about yourself? What do you do? Absolutely? My
• 7:35
  name is Dan Holroyd. So I head up as a co founder with Ghostbusters
• 7:42
  Detroit, the Great Lakes Ghostbuster Coalition. Most importantly, I'm a co founder
• 7:46
  with Tom Birkenbach in the Kalamazoo Ghostbusters. And there are Ghostbusters in most every
• 7:54
  city every state in the United States. And we have a coalition of seventeen
• 8:00
  groups here in Michigan. And what we do is what you see here in
• 8:03
  the booth today. We build props. We have the cars, of course,
• 8:09
  we have a ton of the packs, all sorts of personal props,
• 8:11
  and through our fandom, we're able to spread goodwill and do a lot of
• 8:18
  things in the community, much like you know the superheroes and some of the
• 8:22
  other groups do. Where part of autism walks, cancer walks, heart walks,
• 8:26
  hospital visits, all throughout Michigan, including De Boss. So we're just
• 8:33
  trying to share smiles and make a difference again to this great fandom which is
• 8:37
  Ghostbuster. And you're a Star Trek fan. I am very much a track
• 8:41
  fan, and I remember watching it with my uncles as it was premiering each
• 8:46
  week in the city, the original series, so and my love of it
• 8:52
  has just stayed. And so we're next door to Starfleet. They've been trying
• 8:58
  to get me to join on an for the longest time, so we'll see
• 9:01
  where that goes. And cars are a very cool aspect of what we do
• 9:05
  too. I've built seven of them, which is maybe a little crazy.

  I don't know. You tell me, hey, maybe yeah, yeah,
• 9:11
  bleed Blue Pole down there in their comments section let me know. But you
• 9:16
  know, we either have the hearses or we make them out of jeeps,
• 9:20
  all sorts of things, Sue Brews, I mean mini coopers. I've seen
• 9:22
  them all boatswagons, you know, boatswagon, buses, every little thing.

  So it adds to I guess what we're doing. And then when we do
• 9:33
  parades, they definitely we love doing the light parades and they love to see
• 9:37
  the cars on us walking with the cars. Well, I appreciate you talking

  cast Facebook group. These guys had a ton of props and one of the

  most impressive ones was the containment unit from the movie, and one of their
• 10:09
  guys gave me a demonstration on how it works. So we're here to give
• 10:13
  you a demonstration of the containment unit. This is where we keep all the
• 10:16
  ghosts, spectors, anything that we catch, all right. First up,
• 10:22
  you insert your loaded ghost trap right turns red. That means that the systems
• 10:30
  ready to receive a ghost, all right, So you lock your system,
• 10:35
  You set your entry grid neutralizer field. The light is green, the trap
• 10:41
  is clean. The ghost is stored in our custom made storage facility. We've
• 10:45
  on the view screen over here where if you look for a second there you
• 10:48
  can see him in there. It's kind of popping his head up in there.
• 10:52
  We had to put him in there because he's drinking too much of the
• 10:54
  lemonade over there and making a mess and scaring all the children. I have
• 10:58

  on by the Harp Twins, who were later joined by the Wolfgang Twins.
