- 0:10Hi, I'm Jay Fallon. Thanks for listening to The
- 0:12Slippery Slope. So here in Australia, I believe
- 0:16we are, we're suffering. We are currently suffering under
- 0:23poor leadership and I think we've had an outbreak of poor
- 0:28leadership probably for the best part of a decade.
- 0:31We've had poor leadership within our federal federal governments.
- 0:36We we currently have an extremely weak, beckless leader
- 0:40in Anthony Albanese. We have senators that seem to
- 0:44stand up and care more about the rights and issues in the Middle
- 0:50East than they care about Australians.
- 0:52We have senators that they just disingenuous in what they say.
- 0:58They seem to be intent on dividing the nation, dividing
- 1:03Australia. They constantly want to look
- 1:06back and reinvent history but never want to really talk about
- 1:11actual history. They never want to acknowledge
- 1:14real history. Far more interested in the
- 1:19issues in the Middle East and they're not honest in their
- 1:23reflections of the Middle East and the issues that are there.
- 1:27We have extremely weak leadership when it comes to
- 1:34state premiers, police commissioners over multiple,
- 1:38multiple states. For instance, the former police
- 1:42commissioner in Queensland, the current police commissioner in
- 1:47NSW. It just seems like we have an
- 1:50epidemic of all leadership and leadership failures within this
- 1:56nation. And I can't, I can't really put
- 2:03my finger. I've been trying to work out
- 2:06why, how we got here. How do we, how did we raise, how
- 2:10did we vote in so many of these all leaders and then others that
- 2:18are just bureaucrats? How did they manage to rise
- 2:21through the ranks and, and get these positions of power where
- 2:28they are decision makers? And yet so many times it seems
- 2:31like they cannot make not just not make the right decision.
- 2:38So many times it seems like they cannot make any decision.
- 2:41It was pointed out to me, I'd already been thinking about
- 2:44this, but it was, it was pointed out to me that, you know, we've
- 2:46had this, we've had this fire bombing with a synagogue down
- 2:52South. I'm in Queensland.
- 2:55So we've had this, we've had this bombing of the synagogue,
- 2:59the Jewish synagogue. And why did it take Anthony
- 3:03Albanese so long to realise that, oh, this was a terrorist
- 3:09attack? Why did it take so long?
- 3:12And why is it that we are, we're so, so intent on allowing
- 3:22protests in favour of the Palestinian movement.
- 3:26We, we, it seems like we'll just allow protesters to get up and
- 3:29protest about the Palestinian movement and in favour of the
- 3:33Palestinian movement and in favour of Hamas, though they can
- 3:37get up and say whatever they want in support of Hamas,
- 3:41Hezbollah get up there and, and not tell the truth when they're
- 3:45protesting. And we, we'll allow that.
- 3:47We'll allow destruction on our streets and none of it's really
- 3:52called out, emphatically called out.
- 3:55Anti semitism has been allowed to grow, to prosper in this
- 4:00state, in this nation, especially in NSW, Sydney and
- 4:05Melbourne. Anti semitism I believe is rife
- 4:08down there and our politicians just will not call it out.
- 4:11We have politicians like Lydia Thorpe who constantly reinvents
- 4:18history. She's got from the things that
- 4:21she says, you know, she's obviously got no other, she's
- 4:24got no idea or she's just flat out lying when it comes to the
- 4:29Palestinian 'cause that she stands up for.
- 4:32And then she's constantly equating the Australian
- 4:36Indigenous 'cause you want to say or just Australian
- 4:41Indigenous people and what in the history of the Indigenous
- 4:45people here in this nation constantly equating that with
- 4:50the Palestinian movement. And you know, they, they love
- 4:56the slogan. What is it always was, always
- 5:00will be. And from the river to the sea, 2
- 5:04slogans, which I honestly don't think they really have any, any
- 5:09place in Australia at all. Neither of those slogans, even
- 5:14the indigenous slogan, always was, always, always will be.
- 5:18And if you don't like that, well, whatever.
- 5:22But yeah, well, and then you've got other politicians who quite
- 5:26frankly, I think if you're a senator, well, quite frankly, I,
- 5:30I think that if you weren't born in this nation, I don't think
- 5:33you should be allowed to run for, for a political appointment
- 5:36here. I just don't think it should be
- 5:38allowed. You need to be born here.
- 5:40You need to have a stake in the nation and you need to be able
- 5:44to be well, you really do need to be honest with your own
- 5:50political affiliations and and your own ideologies.
- 5:54And if you're more interested in the nation where you came from
- 5:58than you are in representing the nation of Australia and the
- 6:01people in in Australia, well then go back to the nation where
- 6:05you came from. I'm sorry if if you're here and
- 6:09then you want to serve in in, in politics, but then all you want
- 6:13to carry on about is the people of Palestine, you know, A2 state
- 6:18solution, all that rhetoric, go back to Palestine.
- 6:22Feel free, but you don't come here to Australia.
- 6:26I just don't think if you're not born here, you don't get to run
- 6:31for politics in this nation. That's that's how I feel about
- 6:35it anyway. So getting back to the topic at
- 6:39hand, so poor leadership. I really don't.
- 6:43I can't really put my finger on the exact, the exact cause of it
- 6:49all. I think a lot of it is, is
- 6:51spiritual. If you're looking at from a
- 6:54Christian point of view, I think a lot of it relates back to what
- 6:57the Bible says in Romans, Romans chapter 1.
- 7:01So I think a lot of it is, is spiritual.
- 7:03I think we've allowed so much sin in this nation.
- 7:06We've got politicians who they've just been blinded
- 7:10spiritually and they don't know how to think straight.
- 7:14They don't know how to think sensibly with wisdom.
- 7:17And that's what I think spiritually is part of the
- 7:20problem. If I'm just looking at it
- 7:23through a non biblical lens, some of it just seems so crazy.
- 7:30You know that like I said, Senator Thorpe, the rhetoric
- 7:35that comes out of her mouth, a lot of it doesn't make sense.
- 7:39It is divisive. It's dividing the nation.
- 7:43Even when she's talking about Indigenous issues, she still
- 7:47skirts the truth and she exaggerates so many of the
- 7:52issues that are going on. And I don't think she is really
- 7:54helping Indigenous issues at all in this nation anyway, and
- 7:59definitely not helping by tying herself to the Palestinian
- 8:03movement. And then when you've got, like I
- 8:05said, elbow, who takes him days to admit that, hey, this was
- 8:10terrorism that was that was acted out on this nation, on
- 8:16this land and he still can't call it out for days later.
- 8:20It's just ridiculous. What kind of leader is that?
- 8:22What kind of Prime Minister is that?
- 8:24And then I just want to go through another article or I
- 8:27won't bring it up. I'll just talk about this other
- 8:29article about from police commissioner, the current police
- 8:32Commissioner Webb, Karen Webb from NSW, she this headline says
- 8:40could have done things differently.
- 8:41Police commissioner says after recent controversy, she's
- 8:45talking about what happened with, what's his name, Adrian
- 8:48Knight, the senior constable who was charged after he after he
- 8:52tased the 95 year old great grandmother.
- 8:54So yeah, Karen Webb has told 9 News that she could have done
- 8:58some things differently, including her actions after the
- 9:02Senior constable Christian White was charged with manslaughter.
- 9:05Webb spoke out about the sacking of White, which she she's faced
- 9:10criticism from Claire Nolan's and Allen's family while she
- 9:14while White was found guilty. You know, it took her so long to
- 9:20actually get up. It took her far too long to get
- 9:23out and initially speak about the incident, she says.
- 9:28I understand how how upset her family are, but equally I have
- 9:32to follow a process, the legal process.
- 9:35White was sacked a week after being found guilty of
- 9:37manslaughter. Webb also said she could she
- 9:40could have done some things differently.
- 9:41When asked about people questioning her leadership, she
- 9:47goes and said yeah, I can't change that now.
- 9:49Really. I'm looking forward all already
- 9:51thinking about what higher areas of focus for 2025.
- 9:55The largest group of new police recruits are a focus for the
- 9:58commissioner for the new next year, as well as cracking down
- 10:02on domestic violence and gang violence.
- 10:04So when Webb says that she wants to focus on the, you know, the
- 10:08the new police recruits because they've had the the largest
- 10:12group of new police recruits, I think it's in NSW history.
- 10:16Queensland have also had the same, they've had the largest,
- 10:20the largest group of new police recruits in history as well.
- 10:24The fact is that poor leadership over the last decade or so drove
- 10:29out so many experienced and wanting to be dedicated police
- 10:34officers because they felt disenchanted and disenfranchised
- 10:37with the the systems that we both had in, in, in both had in
- 10:43place. Because people who should not be
- 10:46in leadership, many of our many of our top tier leaders within
- 10:52Queensland, NSW and Victoria just shouldn't be there.
- 10:56Anyway. We've had, I've spoken before a
- 10:58number of times how we've had managers instead of actual
- 11:02leaders. And that to me, that's what
- 11:05Karen Webb is. She's just been a manager.
- 11:08She's just been someone who's been able to write a good
- 11:10resume. It wouldn't surprise me if she's
- 11:12mainly there because of, you know, DEI.
- 11:16And I'm not against at all, not against female, female
- 11:21leadership in policing, but so many, so many officers, so many
- 11:28female police seem to be able to fail upwards so much of the
- 11:32time. And it wouldn't surprise me,
- 11:35just my opinion, if Karen Webb was one of those.
- 11:39Even now, you know, she's had a number of failures over the last
- 11:43couple of years still kept in place as the police
- 11:47commissioner, our former police commissioner here in QLD,
- 11:50Katarina Carroll, she had how many failures did she have?
- 11:54How many? It was just, it was embarrassing
- 11:58how many times, how many failures she had under her
- 12:00watch. And yet it was just, it was
- 12:04nothing. She was just allowed to continue
- 12:06on on her $600,000 a year paycheck and no, no
- 12:12repercussions for her failures. And there was her failures were
- 12:17like weekly, constantly. So, yeah, people like Karen,
- 12:21Karen Webb can talk about the influx of new police recruits,
- 12:24but they are only having all these new police recruits
- 12:27because they've had so much leadership failures over the
- 12:32last couple of years. They have pushed out good
- 12:34officers, pushed out experienced officers.
- 12:37And, and, and now you've got to ask, So what, what is the
- 12:41quality of police officer that we're going to get if we have
- 12:44poor quality in our leadership in police, what kind of police
- 12:49recruits are we going to get? But this is the same thing
- 12:52that's happened in our federal government.
- 12:54We've had poor quality in prime ministers lately.
- 12:59And you know, Elbow, elbow was definitely 1 poor, poor quality
- 13:04Prime Minister Scomo another one.
- 13:07And then what happens when you have a poor quality in your
- 13:11prime ministers in in political leaders?
- 13:14Well, then we keep getting people like Lydia Thorpe or that
- 13:17payment come in who shouldn't even be in politics in any way.
- 13:21They're more they're ideologists, they're protesters.
- 13:26They're not actually politicians who want to uplift and build the
- 13:31nation of Australia. Anyway, this is all just my
- 13:36opinion. You let me know what you think.
- 13:39Is there something we can do to help the epidemic of poor
- 13:44leadership in this nation? Not sure.
- 13:49You let me know. I'm Jeff Fallon.
- 13:51Thanks for listening to the slippery Slope They.
