Transcript
- 0:20Speaker 1: I want to shout out to my beautiful friend, Reverend
- 0:22Speaker 1: Paul Slackus, who's produced this wonderful event of peace and
- 0:26Speaker 1: love for 24 years. A lot of work goes into this.
- 0:29Speaker 1: We had a little situation today, but the show goes
- 0:32Speaker 1: on thanks to his heart and the whole team here.
- 0:34Speaker 1: We love you, Paul. My name is John Pasquale, although
- 0:37Speaker 1: many of you know me as Soho Johnny. It's an
- 0:39Speaker 1: honor to be here today to speak about peace, compassion,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and the importance of helping one another. I grew up
- 0:46Speaker 1: in the Bronx where music became one of my great
- 0:48Speaker 1: passions of my life, which taught me that people from
- 0:51Speaker 1: completely different backgrounds could come together in harmony. As an entrepreneur,
- 0:56Speaker 1: I did real estate, particularly in Soho, through peprealestate.com, which
- 0:59Speaker 1: provides commercial pop-ups and long-term locations all throughout Soho West Village.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Real estate has never only been about storefronts. It's about
- 1:08Speaker 1: people and communities. My love of music eventually brought me
- 1:11Speaker 1: into entertainment, producing events and promoting artists through Tribeca Records,
- 1:15Speaker 1: New Era Music. However, one of the most important chapters
- 1:18Speaker 1: of my life came from one of the most painful.
- 1:23Speaker 1: During the pandemic, I lost my mom, like many of
- 1:25Speaker 1: us have lost loved ones. She taught me that kindness
- 1:29Speaker 1: is never wasted and that when someone needs help, you
- 1:32Speaker 1: do what you can. It's a mandate, it's an obligation
- 1:34Speaker 1: of our humanity.
- 1:41Speaker 2: To the Lord Jesus Christ On that day We will
- 1:51Speaker 2: sing Holy, holy, holy, holy On that day We'll bow
- 1:58Speaker 2: down in the light.
- 2:30Speaker 3: The Gold Ribbon Tech Initiative, we take your gently used
- 2:34Speaker 3: or old technology, we refurbish it or sell it, and
- 2:38Speaker 3: we place it with a family. which is what we're
- 2:40Speaker 3: doing today. So today we're gonna offer Dream Jefferson an
- 2:44Speaker 3: iMac for beating his, he's been, how long have you
- 2:48Speaker 3: been cancer free? He's been four months cancer free, everyone.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Give it up for Dream.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Yeah, we're the Dream Team up here, everybody. Thank you all.
- 3:04Speaker 5: And if you want to support the Kiana Foundation, you
- 3:07Speaker 5: can see our logos there.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Find us at kianafoundation.org.
- 3:12Speaker 5: Times Square, New York, and all y'all for being here.
- 3:15Speaker 5: God bless you.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Yay.
- 3:15Speaker 5: So my name is Heidi Little, and I decided a
- 3:22Speaker 5: couple of weeks ago I was going to move into
- 3:24Speaker 5: Aria Lightness, which is a stage name that I made
- 3:27Speaker 5: for a musical in 2017. So... I'm a part of
- 3:32Speaker 5: something called We the World Tour. And for the last
- 3:35Speaker 5: 30 years, I kind of pioneered social-emotional learning in 1993,
- 3:39Speaker 5: if you all have heard about that education system, connecting
- 3:43Speaker 5: people with the heart, the inner guidance system, connecting with
- 3:47Speaker 5: our purpose, gifts, and mission. And We the World Tour,
- 3:51Speaker 5: I've also been the volunteer director of International Children's Month
- 3:54Speaker 5: for 14 years.
- 3:55Speaker 2: And.
- 3:57Speaker 5: I got together with Ludwig Nobel from the Nobel Peace
- 4:02Speaker 5: Prize family, my co-producer Lawrence Freiberg, who was Michael Jackson's
- 4:07Speaker 5: director of management for his studios for 25 years, and
- 4:10Speaker 5: Rick Ulfick from We The World, and Rick Lukens from
- 4:14Speaker 5: Live Aid, and we've all joined forces to create this
- 4:18Speaker 5: We The World tour.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Hello, New York.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Great to see you. We're going to try something a
- 4:23Speaker 4: little different. We're going to do what's like a fairy tale,
- 4:26Speaker 4: but a sustainable fairy tale, a sustainable. So let me start.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Once upon a time, on the first day of spring,
- 4:36Speaker 4: that's chapter one, the children woke up early, as they
- 4:40Speaker 4: often do. Little Zoe reached the meadow first, still wet
- 4:44Speaker 4: with morning dew. She waited for her favorite sound, the
- 4:49Speaker 4: bumblebee's buzz, but no sound came round. No bees, no birds,
- 4:55Speaker 4: no butterflies. The meadow stood still. Something was missing from
- 5:00Speaker 4: here all the way to the hill. You'd think the
- 5:05Speaker 4: grown-ups would have realized it upon sight, but adults are
- 5:08Speaker 4: busy from morning until night.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you always know how to live. You're the destiny
- 5:14Speaker 2: by my side through November and June. You're the destiny
- 5:18Speaker 2: by my side through November and June. To not just imagine,
- 5:37Speaker 2: but do. Imagine all four people Living life in peace
- 5:52Speaker 2: You may say I'm a dreamer But
- 5:59Speaker 4: I'm not the only one
