- 0:01Hey. Everybody, welcome to the Good
- 0:03Morning from the Chicken Coop podcast.
- 0:05My name is Kim Johnson and I am a mastermindset, coach, creative
- 0:08strategist, and also happened to be a farmer.
- 0:11This is my Chicken coop and I come out here.
- 0:13Every day to record a podcast to.
- 0:15Teach distinctions, possibilities, new ways of.
- 0:18Thinking. And just bring some.
- 0:20Joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey, everybody, good morning. From the porch can hear all the
- 0:31frogs still going off. It's very, very early.
- 0:34All the little bugs. Everybody's still busy out there
- 0:37and it's pitch dark. I don't even think I've heard
- 0:40the rooster go off yet. The reason I'm shooting from the
- 0:44porch early without the girls is because I wanted to talk to you
- 0:47about taking that step into the morning peacefully.
- 0:52Because here's the deal. When you set your morning up in
- 0:56chaos, your day is set on that path.
- 0:59And we've talked about this before, but especially after the
- 1:03week that happened last week, I think it's very important that
- 1:06everyone realize that we slow the hell down.
- 1:10We take a deep breath, we collect ourselves and we say,
- 1:14OK, no matter how much I rush, the day is still going to go on.
- 1:19No matter how bad I feel, the day is still going to go on.
- 1:22No matter how much I, you know, have anguish over things, the
- 1:27day is still going to go on. So why shouldn't it go on with
- 1:30me being in a state of peace, me feeling good, me feeling like
- 1:34I've collected myself. So I come out here in the
- 1:36morning and I pause when it's still and it's slow.
- 1:40I love this time of day because years ago when Wayne Dyer used
- 1:46to come and talk for Tony and I would listen to him intently and
- 1:51he would talk to us all about how you have to be grounded, you
- 1:55have to be focused, you have to be in that moment.
- 1:57You just be present. And when he spoke to you, he had
- 2:00this way of speaking where he would talk to you like he you
- 2:03were the only person there. And it made everybody feel like
- 2:06when you walked up to him and you had a conversation with him
- 2:09backstage, he would just be completely present with you.
- 2:13And I always admired that. I thought that that was such a
- 2:16brilliant character trait of his.
- 2:20And he would talk intently about how early morning, you know, he
- 2:25would wake up at 3:00 AM and he didn't get frustrated like
- 2:27everybody else who woke up early that, you know, I woke up at
- 2:313:00 and I couldn't go back to sleep.
- 2:32He would say, well, I woke up and that was that's the the
- 2:36spiritual hour. That's the God hour.
- 2:38That's when you start feeling things.
- 2:41You're picking up energy. I woke up because there was an
- 2:43energy in me that woke up. So he would use that time to
- 2:47write. He would get up and be
- 2:49productive, which I think is amazing.
- 2:52And I adopted that. And I come out here really,
- 2:56really, really early. And I think it's about 4:10
- 3:00right now. And that feeling of before the
- 3:03world wakes up, that feeling when there's a whole different
- 3:07world out there that is peaceful and just appears to be peaceful.
- 3:13I mean, if you dig in, the bugs are not peaceful.
- 3:15They're all busy, They're all doing their thing.
- 3:17They're just on a different schedule than we are.
- 3:19But it makes you feel like, you know what, We're not as
- 3:22important as we think we are. Life goes on and we have to slow
- 3:26down and we have to take it in and we have to feel good in
- 3:29order to feel good. In order to feel good, you have
- 3:32to choose good. In order to get there, you have
- 3:34to just choose to slow down and be like, OK.
- 3:37I can remember so many times when we were getting ready to
- 3:40hold events and everybody would be filled with anxiety about
- 3:44we're not getting enough stuff done.
- 3:45We should be more. We should have more done by now.
- 3:47And I always say, listen, the events going to go off
- 3:52regardless of if we're ready or not, when those doors are
- 3:56supposed to open, the doors are going to open and the people are
- 3:58going to come in and we'll figure it out because we always
- 4:01do. And it's our choice if we want
- 4:04to have that energy of anxiety or frustration going with us all
- 4:11day, it's OK to have it for a second, but we don't need it
- 4:14driving full force. We can put it in the back and
- 4:16say, no, I'm just going to have my consistent get things done
- 4:20girl driving. But I'm not going to be anxious
- 4:22about it. I'm just going to have fun.
- 4:24What would happen if you chose to have fun?
- 4:26What would happen if you just relaxed and chose to have fun?
- 4:29So I'm going to encourage you to bring that forward.
- 4:32I'm going to encourage you to look for that because there is
- 4:35nothing better than taking that into your week.
- 4:38And then every night you finish up your day and say, hey, you
- 4:42know what? I got it all.
- 4:43I got. I got things done.
- 4:44I may not have gotten it all done, but I've gotten things
- 4:47done. And then you can look and you
- 4:49can see where do I want to add it in.
- 4:51I can assure you that my calendar today says I've got a
- 4:54lot of things to do. Yeah, I do.
- 4:56I absolutely have a lot of things to do.
- 4:58But guess what? That's OK because I'm if I don't
- 5:02finish them all today, I'll move something over.
- 5:04I'll do the best I can, but I am not going to get frenetic and
- 5:08amped up because that doesn't help me get it done.
- 5:10All that does is cause me to delay even further.
- 5:13And that's what sucks because when something delays even
- 5:16further, it's so frustrating. It's so frustrating.
- 5:21It's just going to get me and then I'm not going to be
- 5:22thinking clearly and I'm definitely not going to get it
- 5:24done. So if I just slow down, if I
- 5:26just take the pace, if I just do it the right way, I come out
- 5:30here in the morning, I catch my breath.
- 5:31The air is cool this morning. It feels amazing.
- 5:36There's no humidity, it just feels wonderful.
- 5:39It's cold. I have a sweatshirt on, I have
- 5:41long leggings on. It's like feels so good.
- 5:44So just take that moment, collect yourself, bring that
- 5:49person, that emotion in with you have that emotion driving,
- 5:54you're going to feel amazing. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:57you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 5:59Bye.
