Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: We'll head down to the dressing room. Josh Mahura standing
- 0:03Speaker 1: by following this big 3-2 win over the Flyers. Mahura,
- 0:06Speaker 1: you assisted on Ville Odovainen's first career goal back in
- 0:10Speaker 1: the second period. Congrats to you, but just take us
- 0:13Speaker 1: through this game from your perspective. It wasn't an easy
- 0:16Speaker 1: one here in Philadelphia, but you guys gutted and grinded
- 0:19Speaker 1: out the big win and got the full two points.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, thank you. I don't know if it's much
- 0:25Speaker 2: of a congrats to me as it is to Otto, but.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it was nice to obviously get the two points.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Gruby was incredible tonight like he always is. And, you know,
- 0:34Speaker 2: we obviously had a little span in the third there where,
- 0:38Speaker 2: you know, we kind of got away from our game
- 0:40Speaker 2: a little bit, got a little tense and, you know,
- 0:42Speaker 2: obviously got back to it. So, you know, it's obviously
- 0:45Speaker 2: nice to get the extra point there in the shootout
- 0:49Speaker 2: and continue this good road trip.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Josh, it got a little spicy there in the second period.
- 0:54Speaker 3: And obviously, guys, you stood up to the task But
- 0:57Speaker 3: do you think that kind of started things going in
- 0:59Speaker 3: the right direction for Philadelphia, obviously grabbing two in the
- 1:02Speaker 3: third period and tying this up?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, a little bit, maybe. I think at the
- 1:06Speaker 2: end of the day, like we're not really focused on
- 1:08Speaker 2: what they're doing, what they're kind of got going on.
- 1:11Speaker 2: You know, we talked about it between the second and
- 1:13Speaker 2: third that, you know, we're going to try to stay
- 1:15Speaker 2: out of their their stuff and what they're trying to
- 1:17Speaker 2: get going. So, you know. I guess, credit to them and,
- 1:21Speaker 2: you know, something that we can learn from here going forward,
- 1:24Speaker 2: you know, being able to hold on to leads and
- 1:26Speaker 2: just play with a little bit more composure.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah, we were talking about Grubauer's play tonight before you
- 1:30Speaker 3: came on. Just talk about what it meant to have
- 1:33Speaker 3: him back there tonight with a 9-2-3 save percentage, stopping
- 1:36Speaker 3: 24 of 26.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I mean, it's every night with him and Joe, too,
- 1:41Speaker 2: of course. We've got two incredible goaltenders that, you know,
- 1:45Speaker 2: no matter who's playing, that we feel so confident and
- 1:48Speaker 2: in front of them with what they're going to do
- 1:49Speaker 2: behind us so you know they they make a lot
- 1:52Speaker 2: of timely saves and and keep us in games when
- 1:55Speaker 2: or giving us a chance no matter what so you
- 1:58Speaker 2: know it's a privilege for us to have the two
- 2:01Speaker 2: of them and you know especially like Grudenite it was
- 2:04Speaker 2: just you know incredible and then you're watching him in
- 2:06Speaker 2: the shootout there and he just looks so calm and
- 2:08Speaker 2: composed just making save after save to give us a
- 2:10Speaker 2: chance to go and win it and You know, like
- 2:13Speaker 2: I said, it's amazing having both of them.
- 2:14Speaker 3: And I know you defensemen play a role in that.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It wasn't tonight, but last game you had a nice
- 2:18Speaker 3: butterfly save there on the left side of the net.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Joined by Kraken defenseman Josh Mahura. One more for you, Josh. Unfortunately,
- 2:26Speaker 1: the Kraken not able to score five goals every night.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Some of them have to be a little bit tighter.
- 2:31Speaker 1: But what did it say about your group here, the
- 2:33Speaker 1: effort tonight? It wasn't easy. It wasn't pretty. You won
- 2:37Speaker 1: a close, tight, one-goal game. How did this game feel
- 2:41Speaker 1: different than the other ones?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like I said, you go into the
- 2:44Speaker 2: third up, too. It's never something you want to give
- 2:47Speaker 2: up to, you know, be going into overtime and into
- 2:51Speaker 2: a shootout. But, you know, it's a credit to us
- 2:54Speaker 2: and the group we have just to, you know, be
- 2:56Speaker 2: able to put that behind us, stick with it, and,
- 2:59Speaker 2: you know, just carry on and try to get back
- 3:01Speaker 2: to our game and get the second point there. So,
- 3:04Speaker 2: You know, we're not, like you said, going to score
- 3:06Speaker 2: five goals or whatever it is every night. And, you know,
- 3:09Speaker 2: we want to get comfortable in these type of games,
- 3:11Speaker 2: these close games, especially with the lead in the third.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Well, Josh, hey, man, thanks for the time. Congrats on
- 3:16Speaker 1: your assist. Congrats on a big, gutsy win here tonight
- 3:19Speaker 1: in Philly. Let's head on to Florida on a good note.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah, awesome. Thanks, boys. All right.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Kraken defenseman Josh Mahura following tonight's 3-2 win over the
