- 1:15Speaker 4: Today at six five.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Oh I show ship so four maybe my clock is off? Okay,
- 1:22Speaker 2: Uh yeah.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I was just making my bagel in there because I
- 1:24Speaker 3: figured I was gonna come here at six oh five,
- 1:26Speaker 3: six o six, when we normally start.
- 1:28Speaker 5: So you you leave it to the second.
- 1:31Speaker 2: No.
- 1:31Speaker 3: What ended up happening is I had to add some stuff.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Anna and I were adding some stuff to the stories.
- 1:36Speaker 3: That's all till.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Neck, like you do anything for the show, I mean,
- 1:40Speaker 5: and was adding stories.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Well if you had, we were adding stories.
- 1:44Speaker 4: He was telling me what he wanted added.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and we got it. Ago, do you fall again? No,
- 1:54Speaker 2: off your high horse, Off my high horse, that's correct,
- 1:58Speaker 2: Off your your soapbox. Mmmm. It's a morning we've already started.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Usually it's I say something and Amy comes in and goes,
- 2:08Speaker 3: six oh four, six oh five, start the show. Something
- 2:11Speaker 3: outrageous that I say about this morning. So, uh, let
- 2:14Speaker 3: me say hello to you guys. Hello, you guys.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Hi, mister Handley, excellent, really good.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Okay, quick announcement that tonight is that wine dinner at
- 2:29Speaker 3: the Anaheim white House, and we still have some seats
- 2:32Speaker 3: available and if you'd like to join, it's Antonore Winery,
- 2:37Speaker 3: very high end winery. It's at the Anaheim white House
- 2:40Speaker 3: and a curated dinner, so you can imagine how good
- 2:42Speaker 3: that's going to be. It starts at seven o'clock tonight.
- 2:45Speaker 3: One hundred and fifty dollars per person for but this
- 2:47Speaker 3: is a destination, high end stuff, plus tax and gratuity,
- 2:51Speaker 3: So go to Anaheim white House dot com. Anaheim white
- 2:55Speaker 3: house dot com. Love to see you there. There'll be
- 2:57Speaker 3: a group of us there that are hanging out. So
- 3:01Speaker 3: there you go, and you'll see me. I mean very
- 3:04Speaker 3: very high end lines. And so they have promised me
- 3:07Speaker 3: that I'll be drinking very very high end diet coke.
- 3:12Speaker 5: We need to get you a special wine glass that
- 3:15Speaker 5: says diet Coke on it.
- 3:16Speaker 3: I've had a lot of those. Yeah, yeah, but I
- 3:19Speaker 3: drink out of the can. I drink out of the can.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Oh yeah, fancy, yeah, I'm a can guy.
- 3:25Speaker 4: At restaurants, you do that too.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Absolutely if they have them. The problem is a lot
- 3:30Speaker 3: of restaurants only have fountain drinks. Now, you go to
- 3:32Speaker 3: a Thai restaurant. I've never been to a Thai restaurant
- 3:35Speaker 3: that did not have a can. Yeah you know what
- 3:38Speaker 3: that is, because that's the law. You have to have
- 3:39Speaker 3: a can. It's back there in the corner.
- 3:41Speaker 5: What is that? What?
- 3:43Speaker 2: I don't know why, but yes, that is very true. Yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 2: it's just weird. It's weird.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Okay, there's everybody said good morning to me, and the
- 3:53Speaker 3: normal crowd is here, so we've got stuff to talk about.
- 3:57Speaker 2: What else is going on? Of course I'm Donald Trump.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Stuff we got to talk about out, but not not
- 4:03Speaker 3: crazy Donald or not really.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I would say, not important earth shattering Donald Trump Trump stuff.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Spreme Court came in with an earth's shattering decision that
- 4:14Speaker 3: we'll talk about later. It's coming up at seven o'clock
- 4:17Speaker 3: which may change things completely in the United States in Congress.
- 4:22Speaker 3: And this was very good news for Republicans. Okay, guys,
- 4:25Speaker 3: are you ready to do it? That's the answer is
- 4:29Speaker 3: yes to that.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Okay, yes, you're g d right, Bill, let's get the news.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Wow, we're starting. Excitement level has hit on just many
- 4:45Speaker 2: many levels, level five. Yes, that's true. Also some Darth
- 4:49Speaker 2: Vader news, Darth Vader. Yeah, Ralph, Ralph Nader news at
- 4:55Speaker 2: Ralph Nader, the guy in black Holly drives cord Vers
- 5:00Speaker 2: And this is for Anne and you a Disneyland story,
- 5:03Speaker 2: which for Amy and me, That's what I said, Ann
- 5:08Speaker 2: is Padres. I understand, Yeah, I get it. I always
- 5:10Speaker 2: confuse the two.
- 5:11Speaker 3: You know, we have to do other names because you know,
- 5:13Speaker 3: how long have you we've been doing this together and Amy.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Problem is it starts with both names start with an
- 5:18Speaker 3: A and I.
- 5:19Speaker 4: All three years, Bill, three years.
- 5:21Speaker 2: So there you go.
- 5:22Speaker 4: How confusing, that would be for you.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I still call my daughters by each other's names.
- 5:27Speaker 4: And I witnessed that at Disneyland.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Ala.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Sometimes I know I conflate the two and I have
- 5:35Speaker 3: four years. Yeah, my dad used to call both my
- 5:40Speaker 3: brother and I the same name exactly, and we would
- 5:44Speaker 3: have to know by his inflection who he was referring to.
- 5:47Speaker 5: But you can't say that on the air.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yeah I can, but I won't. Okay, you guys ready
- 5:55Speaker 2: to do it? Here we go some big news handle
- 5:58Speaker 2: on the news, Amy and Me, Amy not and Amy
- 6:03Speaker 2: Neil and me lead story. Well, Jerome Powell who is
- 6:10Speaker 2: leaving as FED chair May fifteenth because this term is
- 6:14Speaker 2: over and it doesn't look like the President would reappoint him,
- 6:19Speaker 2: although there have been presidents that have reappointed chair the
- 6:23Speaker 2: FED chairs. He's staying on.
- 6:26Speaker 3: He can stay on until twenty twenty eight as a governor.
- 6:29Speaker 3: One of the I think twelve votes or fifteen votes
- 6:33Speaker 3: on it at the FED and Ian Powell, the President.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Powell have gotten into it. And I'll do more about
- 6:43Speaker 3: this story a little bit later on because this is
- 6:46Speaker 3: a good one. Jerome Powell, Jerome Powell, who is the
- 6:51Speaker 3: FED chair, has to be very very careful because anything
- 6:55Speaker 3: the Fed chair says immediately reverberates across markets, economic markets
- 7:02Speaker 3: around the world. So President called him a moron and
- 7:08Speaker 3: not high iq starting since he was a Trump appointee.
- 7:11Speaker 3: What a great guy he was, but not anymore.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Moving on, this could really have far reaching implications. And
- 7:20Speaker 6: I know Bill's going to talk about it a little
- 7:21Speaker 6: bit later as well. But the Supreme Court has thrown
- 7:24Speaker 6: out a congressional map in Louisiana that had been drawn
- 7:27Speaker 6: to protect the voting power of black residents, a decision
- 7:30Speaker 6: that undercuts the landmark civil rights law. So the Court
- 7:33Speaker 6: ruled sixty three so along ideological lines that challenging the
- 7:39Speaker 6: map as relying too heavily on race to sort voters.
- 7:45Speaker 6: Justice Alito called the map an unconstitutional gerrymander. Justice Elena Kagan, though,
- 7:52Speaker 6: said the consequences of this decision are likely to be
- 7:56Speaker 6: far reaching and grave, rendering the protections of the Civil
- 7:59Speaker 6: rights saw the Voting Rights Act all but a dead letter.
- 8:05Speaker 3: What ended up happening here is that the law and
- 8:11Speaker 3: the policy and the decisions Supreme Court is you cannot
- 8:13Speaker 3: have race be considered with an election. You cannot jerry
- 8:19Speaker 3: mander or you cannot set up racial districts based on race,
- 8:24Speaker 3: and the court had ruled that if race is not involved,
- 8:27Speaker 3: the legislatures can do whatever.
- 8:29Speaker 2: The hell they want.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Well, these Democratic legislators had set up these districts specifically
- 8:36Speaker 3: along racial lines, and the court said you can't do that.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Now.
- 8:41Speaker 3: That means, since you have for the most part, Republican legislators,
- 8:46Speaker 3: you're going to see districts where black voters, where these
- 8:52Speaker 3: communities of black voters are segregated and put into one district.
- 8:57Speaker 3: You've seen those Jerrymander lines. I mean, it's not square,
- 9:00Speaker 3: it's just these weird salamander, just weird rorse shark test
- 9:05Speaker 3: looking lines. And if you draw enough around black neighborhoods
- 9:10Speaker 3: and you include those, that means the other neighborhoods around
- 9:13Speaker 3: there are going to be white, and blacks traditionally vote
- 9:18Speaker 3: vote Democrat, or whites vote Republican far.
- 9:22Speaker 2: More than blacks. And it looks like Republican seats are
- 9:25Speaker 2: going to be glamed, Republican leaning seats are going to
- 9:28Speaker 2: be gained. This is a very very big deal.
- 9:30Speaker 5: How I understand the rule, but how do you protect minorities?
- 9:36Speaker 2: That's the question. I mean question.
- 9:39Speaker 5: You don't want racial lines to be there's no other
- 9:41Speaker 5: way of doing it, because there's no other way used
- 9:43Speaker 5: on both sides.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I suppose, yeah, how do you You can't.
- 9:47Speaker 3: You can't protect minorities because minorities are by definition racial.
- 9:54Speaker 2: It's a race of minorities. I mean you can.
- 9:56Speaker 3: You know, there's a gay community and that is, but
- 9:59Speaker 3: there are very few gay districts. I mean, you could
- 10:01Speaker 3: do that along West Hollywood probably, although West Hollywood, I
- 10:05Speaker 3: mean theoretically you could do that in communities in which
- 10:08Speaker 3: there is one group of people and you segregate them,
- 10:12Speaker 3: give them a district here that's yours. All the districts
- 10:16Speaker 3: around are ours. Now, you can do it as long
- 10:20Speaker 3: as it's not for racial purposes. The court said, if
- 10:22Speaker 3: you're doing it just for political purposes, there is no problem.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Which is so weird because it's the whole idea is
- 10:29Speaker 6: representation of the people. And when you take a whole
- 10:32Speaker 6: state like they just did in Virginia and make it
- 10:37Speaker 6: more democratic, or you take it another and you do
- 10:40Speaker 6: it in Texas and you make it more republican, it's
- 10:42Speaker 6: not actually representing the voting public.
- 10:45Speaker 3: That is what the Democrats argument was is that by
- 10:48Speaker 3: eliminating considering race, eliminating that completely, representation among minorities basically disappears.
- 10:58Speaker 2: And that is the arguments.
- 11:00Speaker 3: You just hit the nail right on the head or
- 11:02Speaker 3: the head right on the nail, and it was and
- 11:05Speaker 3: the court said down. You know, we're not going to
- 11:08Speaker 3: allow race to be part of it.
- 11:10Speaker 2: It's a tough one. Both sides have an argument for sure.
- 11:13Speaker 5: All Right, oil briefly surpassed one hundred and twenty six
- 11:17Speaker 5: bucks a barrel on Thursday. The Brent crude that's the
- 11:21Speaker 5: global benchmark here surged overnight one twenty six forty one
- 11:26Speaker 5: a barrel fell back to one point fifteen point eight
- 11:29Speaker 5: a barrel as trading volumes thin, but that's huge, just
- 11:34Speaker 5: the highest it's been in like four years.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's pretty crazy, eity, what's what's the oil
- 11:40Speaker 2: now right now?
- 11:41Speaker 4: Crude oil?
- 11:43Speaker 6: The markets haven't opened, but it's at one O four
- 11:46Speaker 6: forty two and Brent is that's not the Brent. I
- 11:51Speaker 6: don't have the Brent average bill.
- 11:53Speaker 5: What was the four years ago? What knocked it up
- 11:56Speaker 5: four years ago?
- 11:57Speaker 2: I was in the one thirties, I think four years Yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 2: but what was it that caused that? Jump.
- 12:04Speaker 5: Do you remember, because I can.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it was after the pandemic and everything.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Everybody started really ramping up and buying oil. I crazy.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I think that was it. If I'm not mistaken, I
- 12:16Speaker 2: may very well be mistaken. And if I am mistaken,
- 12:18Speaker 2: don't bring it up. You got it, sir, Thank you, sir.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Fireworks on Capitol Hill.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseeth was sparring with House Democrats, who
- 12:29Speaker 6: repeatedly accused him of misleading the public about the war
- 12:33Speaker 6: in Iran and for unjustly firing senior military leaders, which
- 12:38Speaker 6: he has fired a lot of them. The six hour
- 12:41Speaker 6: meeting happened at the House Armed Services Committee, so HeiG
- 12:45Speaker 6: Seth and General Dan Kine, who's the chairman of the
- 12:48Speaker 6: Joint Chiefs of Staff, were there to talk about the
- 12:51Speaker 6: one point five trillion dollar defense budget request. But it
- 12:55Speaker 6: turned into a rather heated and pointed and come back
- 13:01Speaker 6: exchange between the Democrats and Pete Heapseth.
- 13:05Speaker 2: It used to be at these hearings people were polite.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Not anymore.
- 13:10Speaker 3: They're not even close anymore. Now they're so adversarial. And
- 13:15Speaker 3: heg Seth. The biggest challenge, he said, the biggest challenge.
- 13:19Speaker 2: The biggest adversary we face at this point are the reckless, feckless,
- 13:24Speaker 2: defeatist words.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Of Congressional Democrat and some Republicans. I would think the
- 13:28Speaker 3: biggest challenge would be the Iranians far more than maybe
- 13:34Speaker 3: the Democrats on the hill, but maybe give.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Some credit for the use of the word feckless just
- 13:40Speaker 5: often so.
- 13:41Speaker 3: And the budget for the war up to this point
- 13:45Speaker 3: is twenty five billion dollars. And the word quagmire was
- 13:48Speaker 3: thrown at Hegseth We're going into a quagmire, and Heasek
- 13:52Speaker 3: went crazy. He goes, We've only been at it for
- 13:56Speaker 3: two months. And I wish I had been there, as
- 14:00Speaker 3: I would have said. I would have asked him, when
- 14:02Speaker 3: is it a quagmire for you?
- 14:04Speaker 5: Giggity?
- 14:05Speaker 2: When does that? When does that? Lin Kraft cross when
- 14:10Speaker 2: it is a quagmire?
- 14:11Speaker 3: And he comes, well, we are in Afghanistan twenty years
- 14:14Speaker 3: and we were in Vietnam eleven years, So I guess
- 14:18Speaker 3: would you think it would be ten years of war?
- 14:20Speaker 2: Maybe that's when it becomes a quagmire.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Giggity giggity.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 14:24Speaker 3: The answer, but it's these hearings don't do much they
- 14:29Speaker 3: don't find anything out with these hearings. They're screaming matches
- 14:32Speaker 3: and fifteen minutes of fame.
- 14:35Speaker 5: All right, the Trump administration launched a bombshell offensive. You
- 14:39Speaker 5: can say what you want about Trump, but I tell you,
- 14:42Speaker 5: the war on drugs is the first time I've ever
- 14:44Speaker 5: seen actually any president go to war on drugs. Wednesday,
- 14:48Speaker 5: he went against Mexican government officials, accused of accused them
- 14:54Speaker 5: of complicity with the notorious Sinaloa cartel. And this thirty
- 15:01Speaker 5: four page indictment man is filled with all kinds of
- 15:04Speaker 5: outlines of alleged patterns of bribes, murders, kidnappings, and other
- 15:09Speaker 5: crimes linked to high ranking law and security chiefs there
- 15:13Speaker 5: in Mexico.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it's pretty corrupt in Mexico, and I mean really corrupt.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I think I shared that story with you. One of
- 15:22Speaker 3: my surrogacy clients was a huge broker, international broker of oil,
- 15:29Speaker 3: and he was in a meeting with the Mexican government
- 15:33Speaker 3: and right there in the meeting, the government official handed
- 15:36Speaker 3: him a piece of paper with the number of a
- 15:40Speaker 3: Swiss bank account and he said, I want a dollar
- 15:44Speaker 3: fifty per barrel put into this bank account.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I'm straight out, and so he told me.
- 15:51Speaker 3: He then asked me when we were talking the broker
- 15:53Speaker 3: and he said, you know what the difference between the
- 15:55Speaker 3: president of the Mexico and the cop on the street
- 15:59Speaker 3: that rouse you, just the money, they're both the same.
- 16:03Speaker 3: You pay the president a little bit more for corruption
- 16:05Speaker 3: than you do the cop that stops you. Yeah, that's
- 16:08Speaker 3: Mexico for you. And you know, Trump's right on this one.
- 16:13Speaker 3: And Shinebaum has a real problem because to undo that
- 16:16Speaker 3: kind of corruption is really hard. And when you talk
- 16:18Speaker 3: about that corruption, the cartel is so powerful. And put
- 16:21Speaker 3: yourself in the cartel in one of these in one
- 16:25Speaker 3: of these positions of authority, when a cartel member looks
- 16:29Speaker 3: at you and says, you either do what we want
- 16:32Speaker 3: and here's your choice. Lead, I mean gold or bullets
- 16:37Speaker 3: or gold or lead. You do what we want you
- 16:40Speaker 3: to do, You're going to become insanely wealthy. You don't,
- 16:43Speaker 3: you are dead. Your entire family is dead, and everybody
- 16:45Speaker 3: else you knew it will be dead.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Where do you go with that? Just it's an impossible choice.
- 16:55Speaker 6: Imy, This is one heck of a book. Fine City
- 16:59Speaker 6: of Honeyington Beach has been ordered to pay one million
- 17:01Speaker 6: dollars in attorney fees for restricting minors' access to library books.
- 17:06Speaker 6: City council passed a resolution in twenty twenty three that
- 17:09Speaker 6: prohibited children from accessing books deemed to contain sexual content
- 17:13Speaker 6: in the city's public libraries, but critics said the policy
- 17:16Speaker 6: amounted to illegal censorship and that it was actually an
- 17:19Speaker 6: excuse to restrict books with LGBTQ characters and themes.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Is there sex in them or is it just that
- 17:30Speaker 2: they're gay. They're both sex and gay. It's gay sex.
- 17:40Speaker 5: My son watches cartoons and shows where there's gay characters
- 17:44Speaker 5: but there's not sex in them.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Well, but the implication is gayness is a sexual way
- 17:52Speaker 2: because if it has sex in it as it doesn't
- 17:54Speaker 2: matter if it's hetero or.
- 17:57Speaker 5: Homo.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 18:01Speaker 4: It just says LGBTQ characters and themes.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and they sense their books on a big basis
- 18:09Speaker 2: because who decides, Well, the district decides, and the court said, uhh,
- 18:15Speaker 2: can't do it.
- 18:16Speaker 5: So a United Airlines pilot arriving in San Diego, I
- 18:20Speaker 5: guess this is a time when they're kind of going along.
- 18:25Speaker 5: They call it the base leg of the flights. Generally,
- 18:28Speaker 5: when planes fly perpendicular with the runway. It's preparing to
- 18:31Speaker 5: land and it hits something, so thinks the pilot and
- 18:37Speaker 5: the airport tower. Audio goes back and forth. The pilot
- 18:41Speaker 5: thinks it was a drone, saying that it was red,
- 18:45Speaker 5: it was shiny, but couldn't it was fairly small. Now,
- 18:49Speaker 5: Amy was there an update to this story?
- 18:52Speaker 4: The update is this morning.
- 18:53Speaker 6: United is saying that they don't think that the drone
- 18:56Speaker 6: and the plane actually collided. Yesterday they said there was
- 18:59Speaker 6: like a midair collision between this little small, red shiny drone.
- 19:03Speaker 6: But they've examined the plane since then and there's no
- 19:06Speaker 6: damage on it. So they're saying, well, maybe we didn't
- 19:09Speaker 6: actually hit.
- 19:09Speaker 5: It, but I mean it was still there. Yeah. And
- 19:12Speaker 5: to be at three thousand feet I think is where
- 19:15Speaker 5: or so? Is that what they were saying originally? Yeah,
- 19:19Speaker 5: that's pretty high for a drone. They're supposed to be
- 19:21Speaker 5: under four hundred feet, which is about the lowest point
- 19:26Speaker 5: that a helicopter would fly. Mm hm, So that's pretty
- 19:31Speaker 5: high up there for a drone. I hope it wasn't
- 19:33Speaker 5: Santa doing a test flight. Red shiny. No one's worried.
- 19:38Speaker 3: One you can carry so many gifts on a drone
- 19:41Speaker 3: that is the size of a dinner plate.
- 19:45Speaker 5: Those things are I have a small drone about the
- 19:48Speaker 5: size of my hand. That thing books.
- 19:52Speaker 6: Walmart's going to milk this one for all it's worth.
- 19:56Speaker 6: Walmart has opened third processing facility for milk in the
- 20:01Speaker 6: US with a more than three hundred and fifty million
- 20:03Speaker 6: dollar investment. Why it's adding to its decade long effort
- 20:08Speaker 6: to bolster its perishables supply chain.
- 20:12Speaker 3: And it got the cows so cheaply that they couldn't
- 20:17Speaker 3: say no. See that's a Walmart joke about price it
- 20:22Speaker 3: being so low.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Did you get that? Okay, let's move on.
- 20:32Speaker 5: All right. So, as you heard Handles say earlier, twenty
- 20:36Speaker 5: five billion dollars is the price tag so far on
- 20:40Speaker 5: the receipt for Operation Epic Fury. This was told by
- 20:46Speaker 5: the committee's top Democrat, Adam Smith. Representative said that this
- 20:51Speaker 5: is where we are at the sixty day mark, and
- 20:57Speaker 5: I guess we're supposed to be upset, be happy, be.
- 21:01Speaker 3: And the money is it hasn't even though it costs that,
- 21:04Speaker 3: they haven't put the money into the budget. So they're
- 21:07Speaker 3: asking for They're going to ask for a supplemental Bill
- 21:10Speaker 3: supplementals basically are, gee, we need a lot more money
- 21:13Speaker 3: in Congress has to pass this in order to get money.
- 21:16Speaker 3: The money that the Penton, Pentagon and other agencies get
- 21:22Speaker 3: based on Congress, which funds the United States.
- 21:26Speaker 2: So twenty five billion dollars and counting.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Snakes?
- 21:31Speaker 6: Why did it have to be snakes? A German tourist
- 21:37Speaker 6: has died in Egypt. He was participating in a snake
- 21:42Speaker 6: charmer's performance at a resort in Hergata, which is a
- 21:45Speaker 6: popular Red Sea destination about three hundred miles outside of Cairo.
- 21:51Speaker 6: One of the snakes, presumably cobras, were placed around the
- 21:56Speaker 6: next of guests from the audience, among other things. But
- 21:59Speaker 6: then one of the snakes crawled into his trousers bit
- 22:01Speaker 6: him on the lake and he died.
- 22:04Speaker 4: And he died.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I know, I have a question.
- 22:07Speaker 3: You're I like snakes, and you know I for my
- 22:10Speaker 3: kid's birthday we would have occasionally these giant pythons ran
- 22:14Speaker 3: a conda's. You know, they're ten feet long or twenty
- 22:17Speaker 3: feet long and weigh four hundred pounds.
- 22:19Speaker 2: It was just kind of fun. Do people not know
- 22:22Speaker 2: that cobra's are one of the most venomous steaks, snakes
- 22:26Speaker 2: in the world. Wouldn't you when you see a cobra
- 22:30Speaker 2: get out of dodge?
- 22:32Speaker 5: Can't they spit venom too? It just seems like you
- 22:35Speaker 5: don't need to experience everything on vacation.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Yeah, well we're death, you know, that's that's.
- 22:41Speaker 5: You know, had guillotines and yeah, stuff like that. I
- 22:45Speaker 5: don't know that you need to.
- 22:46Speaker 4: That's right up to the guillotine.
- 22:48Speaker 5: Yeah, he's going to be fun though.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Yeah, these are bucket list items, you know, it's no
- 22:53Speaker 3: issue about that.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Okay, one more Neil, all.
- 22:58Speaker 5: Right, So this has to do with new rules for
- 23:01Speaker 5: non immigrant visa applications. Trump administration said on Tuesday that
- 23:06Speaker 5: it's issuing issuing some new rules for these visa applications,
- 23:11Speaker 5: but it's gonna limit asylum claims in the United States
- 23:14Speaker 5: just with two little questions. So now the US officials
- 23:19Speaker 5: will be required to ask these questions of the applicant,
- 23:22Speaker 5: have you experienced harm or mistreatment in your country or
- 23:27Speaker 5: nationality or last habitual residents? And do you fear harm
- 23:32Speaker 5: or mistreatment in returning to your country of nationality or
- 23:36Speaker 5: permanent residents? If the visa applicants respond verbally with no
- 23:42Speaker 5: to both questions for these questions, and they can continue
- 23:48Speaker 5: with visa issuance. If not, sorry, because we're afraid you're
- 23:54Speaker 5: just going to stay okay.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah, And you can't just say I fear harm. There
- 24:00Speaker 2: has to be some basis for that. You know, you
- 24:03Speaker 2: just can't get because anybody would say I fear fear
- 24:06Speaker 2: of harm or persecution. And the FEDS are limiting the
- 24:10Speaker 2: countries that persecute people and prosecute the people to be
- 24:15Speaker 2: very limited set of countries. It's just getting harder and harder.
- 24:20Speaker 6: This could lead to a deadly and dangerous chain of events.
- 24:24Speaker 6: The head of the organization that's overseeing a treaty banning
- 24:28Speaker 6: nuclear testing has warned that if the US, Russia, or
- 24:31Speaker 6: any other country goes ahead with nuclear testing, other nations
- 24:36Speaker 6: are going to go ahead and start doing it too.
- 24:38Speaker 6: Robert Floyd's, the executive secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test
- 24:42Speaker 6: Ban Treaty Organization, told the UN correspondence that this is
- 24:47Speaker 6: a spiral we do not want to see start because
- 24:50Speaker 6: it may never be able to be stopped.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Yeah, because well, the first test ban treaty test the
- 24:56Speaker 3: test ban treaty, and this was when atmospheric tests were
- 24:59Speaker 3: being die was between the United States and Russia nineteen
- 25:03Speaker 3: sixty it was Kennedy and it was a Khrushchev and
- 25:07Speaker 3: so they were underground testing after that, and now you've
- 25:11Speaker 3: got then their testing is basically just stopped. But you know,
- 25:15Speaker 3: the testing is all done by computer modeling. Now you
- 25:19Speaker 3: don't have to blow anything up. And so the problem
- 25:23Speaker 3: is is all that is over going back to well,
- 25:26Speaker 3: it's the opening for more nuclear weapons.
- 25:29Speaker 2: And at one point the United States, now keep in mind,
- 25:33Speaker 2: how many do you need? How many weapons do you
- 25:35Speaker 2: need to blow apart the world?
- 25:38Speaker 5: Right?
- 25:39Speaker 3: The thermonuclear weapons, these hydrogen bombs, I mean, you don't
- 25:43Speaker 3: need many to blow up the entire world. At one
- 25:46Speaker 3: point we had thirty thousand of them, and Russia on
- 25:51Speaker 3: the other side had close to that number.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Yeah, this nuclear war business is a tough one, isn't it.
- 26:01Speaker 5: I missed the good old days of just us in Russia. Yeah,
- 26:05Speaker 5: all right, from terracotta warriors now to a bunch of robots.
- 26:10Speaker 5: China has a one billion dollar robot army now and
- 26:15Speaker 5: they're doing not only patrolling, they got these five thousand
- 26:20Speaker 5: quadruped If you've seen these robot dogs, they're part cute
- 26:23Speaker 5: and part nightmare fuel. But they're going to be patrolling
- 26:26Speaker 5: substations and mountain transmission lines. And then three thousand dual
- 26:31Speaker 5: armed wheel units are going to be handling coordinated repairs
- 26:36Speaker 5: on their grid. This is all about power grids and
- 26:44Speaker 5: them facing aging infrastructure and all of this stuff, and
- 26:49Speaker 5: they're going to be using these robots instead of humans
- 26:53Speaker 5: to maintain and protect.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a couple of reasons why this is so
- 26:57Speaker 3: critical and what the ramifications are. Number one, the number
- 27:02Speaker 3: of people being born are that are not do not
- 27:07Speaker 3: meet the number of people we're talking about worldwide now
- 27:09Speaker 3: and industrialized nations of which China is one, they are
- 27:13Speaker 3: more old folks than young folks. They're just there isn't
- 27:15Speaker 3: enough labor out there, and so you need something to
- 27:19Speaker 3: take the place of the folks that are retiring and
- 27:22Speaker 3: or dying. Also, China is moving ahead at a breakneck
- 27:26Speaker 3: speed in terms of technology, and they have chosen a
- 27:31Speaker 3: few areas, one of them robotics, the other one is
- 27:35Speaker 3: alternative energy, and then the last one cars. And I'm
- 27:38Speaker 3: going to talk about that coming up. At what time
- 27:43Speaker 3: are we going to do that? Oh seven point thirty
- 27:47Speaker 3: Where we're going to talk about what's going on with
- 27:50Speaker 3: Chinese cars China. The day that China is allowed to
- 27:54Speaker 3: sell their electric vehicles in the United States, all the
- 27:58Speaker 3: other companies are going to collapse.
- 28:00Speaker 2: We'll talk more about that later on.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Goodbye Kylo Wren, Hello Darth Vader.
- 28:11Speaker 6: Darth Vader has set foot in Star Wars Galaxies Edge
- 28:15Speaker 6: for the first time.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Yay, is this the very first time?
- 28:21Speaker 6: Well, you know, he's just he's been in the park
- 28:24Speaker 6: and he's been in the launch pad, and they've had
- 28:27Speaker 6: meet and greets and then like during Star Wars Nights
- 28:30Speaker 6: and that kind of thing, there's an opportunity to see
- 28:33Speaker 6: Vader in the park, But Kylo Wren has been in
- 28:36Speaker 6: Galaxy's Edge, and so they can't have the two in
- 28:40Speaker 6: the same place because they're different timelines. So now Kylo
- 28:43Speaker 6: Ren is out and Darth Vader is in, and they're
- 28:47Speaker 6: also bringing back Luke Skywalker and Princess Leah and Hans
- 28:51Speaker 6: Solo as well.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Which makes sense because those are the big figures.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:57Speaker 5: Finally though, because I certainly know the one.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I certainly know about Prince Leah, and I certainly know
- 29:03Speaker 2: about hands Solo, and of course Darth Vader. I had
- 29:06Speaker 2: no idea who Kylo Ren is?
- 29:07Speaker 4: So you haven't seen the newest trilogy.
- 29:10Speaker 2: No, I stopped. I stopped going to Star Wars a
- 29:14Speaker 2: long long time ago. Are you going to go dressed
- 29:16Speaker 2: as Jewbacca? Okay, with Jewbacca? With that, Harry Yamica.
- 29:22Speaker 6: Yeah, you just saw Chewbacca last time when we were
- 29:25Speaker 6: at Disneyland.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I did, I did see. Did we get a picture
- 29:28Speaker 2: of Jewbacca?
- 29:29Speaker 4: We did not.
- 29:30Speaker 2: He was running off, That's right, he was running off.
- 29:33Speaker 5: But so enters the season of the Force there at
- 29:38Speaker 5: Disney which is a great time to go, by the way, which.
- 29:40Speaker 6: Makes sense too because they have that nighttime show, the
- 29:43Speaker 6: Skywalker Saga. So they think they did like a soft
- 29:46Speaker 6: intro for it or a soft launch good thing.
- 29:49Speaker 5: So over there, yep, all right open. AI Chief executive
- 29:53Speaker 5: Sam All apologized to the Canadian community this is a
- 29:58Speaker 5: tough story and another their question about all the information
- 30:03Speaker 5: that goes over online sources. Now, so he apologized for
- 30:07Speaker 5: failing to alert police about a mass shooter's conversations with
- 30:12Speaker 5: its chatbot. And this has to do with Jesse Van
- 30:16Speaker 5: Root's seller Salar eighteen, who if you remember, killed eight people,
- 30:22Speaker 5: including school children in Tumblr Ridge, British Columbia, before taking
- 30:27Speaker 5: her own life in February. And I guess they knew
- 30:33Speaker 5: something was going on, or they could have known. Well,
- 30:37Speaker 5: I think they knew because they had to shut down
- 30:39Speaker 5: the didn't they shut down the person was banned. He says,
- 30:46Speaker 5: I'm deeply sorry that we did not alert law enforcement
- 30:49Speaker 5: to the account that was banned in June.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah, it goes further than what I said. Yeah, absolutely, Yeah.
- 30:56Speaker 5: So it's you know, the person asked at GPT about
- 31:01Speaker 5: gun violence and and and they actually debated whether they
- 31:07Speaker 5: should call and tell the law enforcement.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Or knowledge, and they didn't. And so big apology coming
- 31:12Speaker 2: maybe okay to have you know or you'll see you'll
- 31:16Speaker 2: be reporters.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, no question about that. You'll see that change. Okay,
- 31:21Speaker 3: A big, big case yesterday Supreme Court. I mean, can
- 31:25Speaker 3: this is monumental importance that I'll share that with you.
- 31:29Speaker 3: It has to do with voting and who and where
- 31:33Speaker 3: people vote, and I'll explain that coming up.
- 31:35Speaker 2: KFI A M six forty.
- 31:38Speaker 1: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show. Catch My
- 31:41Speaker 1: show Monday through Friday six am to nine am, and
- 31:44Speaker 1: anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app,
