• 3:30
Speaker 1: There have to have a lava lamp.

Speaker 3: Yeah, some Goodyear white letters on Craggers spokes.
• 3:39
Speaker 1: Yes, you bet I'm flashing back right now.
• 3:43
Speaker 1: You bet I'm flashing back right now.
• 3:44
Speaker 1: Or we could try to find Danny Edmondson's white Ford Econoline that had been totally ragged out.
• 3:51
Speaker 1: It was a delivery van, white, and there was not one thing in the back, nothing Except scraped off paint from them delivering whatever they delivered out of that thing.
• 4:01
Speaker 1: They did have two seats.
• 4:03
Speaker 1: That's not my phone.
• 4:05
Speaker 1: Is that yours, jeff?
• 4:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, it is, for some reason.
• 4:08
Speaker 1: Huh, that's probably some sort of cyber call.
• 4:10
Speaker 3: It could be that's somebody with a shagging wagon.
• 4:13
  Speaker 1: Maybe that's it.
• 4:14
Speaker 1: They're going to donate it to us Great.
• 4:15
Speaker 1: All right, I had a little.
• 4:23
Speaker 1: Well, we can do several things here.
• 4:24
Speaker 1: Let's try them All right.
• 4:24
Speaker 1: First one is the serious thing here that we've got vehicle complexity on inboard safety systems inside cars.
• 4:31
Speaker 1: Or we could do Hemmingscom sold cars roundup.
• 4:35
Speaker 1: I think I know which way this is going to go.
• 4:37
Speaker 1: Let's go to lunch.
• 4:39
Speaker 1: Okay, let's do Hemmings Mars whatever you're doing down there, you're going to have to pay attention.
• 4:44
Speaker 2: I am Get your scorecard.
• 4:46
Speaker 2: Steven Ruse sent a message.
• 4:47
  Speaker 2: I'm returning him a favor.
• 4:48
Speaker 2: Oh, okay, all right, well, hey.
• 4:50
Speaker 1: Steven Ruse would have the shag and wax.
• 4:52
Speaker 1: That's probably why Steven Ruse and I went to high school together.
• 4:55
Speaker 1: I keep up with him on Facebook.
• 5:00
Speaker 3: He doesn't know him.
• 5:01
Speaker 3: No, don't tell him the white beat-up van the creeper segment Danny.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: Edmondson yeah well, we were creepers at 17,.
• 5:10
Speaker 1: 18 years old at the time.
• 5:12
Speaker 2: I guess that would make you a creeper.
• 5:14
Speaker 1: But there was a lot more going on than that, trust me.
• 5:17
Speaker 1: Okay, and speaking of creeper wagons, this one we're going to start off with you, jeff, all right.
• 5:23
Speaker 1: This is right up your alley Streaker.
• 5:25
Speaker 1: Okay, so Hemings Sold Car Roundup.
• 5:28
Speaker 1: These are cars that were sold online through Hemingscom and there's all sorts of different cars, not necessarily collector cars, but people cars, our kind of cars.
• 5:38
Speaker 1: Picture in your mind, if you will, a 1987 Chevrolet Caprice Classic wagon oh.
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: That's brown.
• 5:49
Speaker 1: It's brown and it's got the white wood trim on the side.
• 5:51
Speaker 1: Be still my heart.
• 5:52
Speaker 1: So what do you think an 87 Chevy Caprice Classic would go for?
• 5:59
Speaker 1: Now, this one has the wire wheel covers, it's all gussied up for a Chevy.
• 6:04
Speaker 1: It's got the roof rack on it, but it's a Caprice, so it's the top of the line from Chevrolet.
• 6:11
Speaker 1: What do you think that they're getting for it?
• 6:13
Speaker 1: I don't know what the mileage is on it.
• 6:15
Speaker 1: Clearly it's got miles on it 1987, chevy Caprice $12,000.
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: $12,000.
• 6:20
Speaker 1: Mars, what do you think?
• 6:21
Speaker 1: I'm going to step up to?
• 6:22
  Speaker 1: $16,000.
• 6:23
  Speaker 1: $16,000.
• 6:24
Speaker 1: Well, I'm going to tell you, the actual sold price was $4,700,.
• 6:30
Speaker 3: Jeff, I could have bought three.
• 6:32
Speaker 3: You could have, yeah, for the price that you want.
• 6:34
Speaker 3: I want to see that puppy.
• 6:35
  Speaker 3: There it is.
• 6:35
  Speaker 3: It's gorgeous.
• 6:36
  Speaker 3: It is gorgeous.
• 6:37
  Speaker 3: Look at that.
• 6:38
Speaker 1: All right, now let's put your mind into a 1979 Jeep CJ5, and I had one similar to this.
• 6:46
Speaker 1: I bought it off of the showroom floor at Archer Jeep on 59th and Southwest Freeway.
• 6:52
Speaker 1: It was white with a black interior, no-transcript.
• 7:02
Speaker 1: Now the locking hubs.
• 7:03
  Speaker 1: Get outside.
• 7:04
Speaker 1: Get out there and turn the hub to lock it up.
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: Right Jeep, it's a Jeep.
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: It's a Jeep.
• 7:09
Speaker 1: This is old school Jeep, but it was a brand new vehicle, 1979 CJ5.
• 7:15
Speaker 1: I'm going to go again $12,000.
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: $12,000.
• 7:18
Speaker 1: And I will tell you that this one it doesn't say, but my guess is it probably had the Pontiac four-cylinder motor in it, because that's what they used at the time.
• 7:32
Speaker 1: Okay, so what do you think?
• 7:33
Speaker 1: You said 12 bars.
• 7:33
Speaker 2: What do you think I'm going to say?
• 7:34
Speaker 2: Since it's on hemmings, it's got to be in pretty good shape.
• 7:36
Speaker 2: I'm going to say it's more of a collector.
• 7:39
Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with 21 11 445 dollars and now you know why I don't have any cars like that.
• 7:46
Speaker 2: That's why you don't have any cars.
• 7:50
Speaker 1: You have the in-wheel time truck.
• 7:52
Speaker 1: All right, let's go back to Chevrolet.
• 7:53
Speaker 1: But let's turn back the hands of time here, shall we?
• 7:56
Speaker 1: Okay, a 1966 Chevrolet Impala, two-door hardtop what do you think something like that would go for?
• 8:08
  Speaker 1: Now, this one.
• 8:08
Speaker 1: I'm just going to give you a little bit of a hint.
• 8:11
Speaker 1: This one is fixed up, gussied up, pretty nice.
• 8:17
  Speaker 1: It's not a show car.
• 8:19
Speaker 1: I don't think it's got Kregers and white leather tires on it.
• 8:22
  Speaker 1: It's red.
• 8:23
Speaker 1: It looks like it's got a beige interior, which is all wrong.
• 8:26
Speaker 1: But whatever, 66 Chevy Impala, what do you think you sold for $27,000.
• 8:33
Speaker 2: I'm going to say 66 are rare.
• 8:35
Speaker 2: You're pretty close, but I have to drop back down to around $22,000.
• 8:40
  Speaker 2: How?
• 8:40
  Speaker 1: about $37,000?
• 8:42
  Speaker 1: .
• 8:42
Speaker 1: Somebody wanted that car really bad.
• 8:44
  Speaker 1: Yes, they did.
• 8:45
Speaker 3: And we don't know the actual interior look and all that.
• 8:50
Speaker 1: Now this is up my alley.
• 8:52
Speaker 1: My dad, when we moved down here in 1962, decided that he's got a brand new job, he's making some money, mom's going to drive a nice car.
• 9:00
Speaker 1: So we go down to Demontron Buick on OST and Dad buys a 1962 Buick, but it's a Buick, la Sabra, the cheapo, but it's a Buick and it's new.
• 9:19
  Speaker 1: And it's new.
• 9:19
Speaker 1: This one here is a four-holer 1962 Buick, electra Deuce and a quarter.
• 9:24
Speaker 1: What do you think that that car?
• 9:28
Speaker 1: And it looks magnificent, it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
• 9:32
  Speaker 1: It's a two-door hardtop, 62 Buick, electra Deuce and a quarter, I'm going to say 18.
• 9:42
Speaker 2: I'm going to go for 10.
• 9:44
  Speaker 1: $28,350.
• 9:47
Speaker 1: That's all the money for that.
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: It's a nice car.
• 9:50
  Speaker 1: There it is.
• 9:51
Speaker 2: Okay, what are you doing Now?
• 9:52
Speaker 1: here's another station wagon for you, jeff.
• 9:54
Speaker 1: Pay attention, I like that one there, jeff, for you.
• 9:58
Speaker 1: Okay, a 1952, the year you were born, 1952, pontiac Chieftain station wagon.
• 10:09
Speaker 1: Whoa, it's got some wood on it.
• 10:12
  Speaker 1: It looks fantastic.
• 10:16
Speaker 1: Wide whites, full wheel covers.
• 10:18
Speaker 1: It is nice, jeff, I would help you buy this car if you would buy it.
• 10:25
  Speaker 3: I'm going to say it's 52?
• 10:26
Speaker 3: Yeah it, I'm going to say it's 52.
• 10:27
  Speaker 1: Yeah, 52.
• 10:27
  Speaker 3: I'm going to say $52,000.
• 10:30
Speaker 2: No, I was thinking more like $32,000.
• 10:33
  Speaker 1: $21,055.
• 10:35
  Speaker 1: Look at this.
• 10:38
  Speaker 3: Ready.
• 10:38
Speaker 3: I'm going to want it.
• 10:39
Speaker 3: You are going to want it.
• 10:40
Speaker 3: It's too bad, it's already sold.
• 10:40
  Speaker 3: Look at that.
• 10:41
Speaker 1: It's even got the sunshade.
• 10:42
  Speaker 3: That's a hot rod to a car.
• 10:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, and the wide, whites, everything that's a hot rod to a car.
• 10:46
Speaker 1: And our last car of the morning is going to be another station wagon for Jeff, except this one is a 19,.
• 10:55
Speaker 1: It looks more of a Chevrolet to me, but you'll have to be the judge of that, not me A 1996 Buick Roadmaster Station Wagon.
• 11:06
Speaker 1: I don't know why I got the station wagon the last year of the wagons.
• 11:09
Speaker 1: 1996 Buick Station Wagon.
• 11:14
Speaker 1: What do you think it went for?
• 11:14
  Speaker 1: I'm going to say $12,000.
• 11:16
  Speaker 1: $12,000?
• 11:16
  Speaker 1: I was thinking $8,000.
• 11:17
  Speaker 1: All right, $7,000.
• 11:19
Speaker 1: There you go, finally got something close Got close.
• 11:21
Speaker 3: There you go, here it is.
• 11:22
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you know what it looks like.
• 11:24
Speaker 3: The wall it looks like a Chevy, an Impala?
• 11:27
  Speaker 1: Yeah, it does.
• 11:28
Speaker 3: The Impala front end and they made the SS Impala with that front end style.
• 11:32
Speaker 3: Okay, Well, somebody's jacked with it.
• 11:33
Speaker 1: You can see that there.
• 11:35
Speaker 3: No, it's probably right, okay, all right.
• 11:38
  Speaker 1: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
• 11:38
  Speaker 1: Stay at home.
• 11:39
Speaker 1: I wanted to run this by you.
• 11:40
Speaker 1: This is more serious nature, still fun to talk about.
• 11:49
Speaker 1: Vehicle complexity in onboard safety systems and the lighter composite materials introduced each model year are placing a strain on the auto collision repair industry.
• 11:59
Speaker 1: According to a new report, 40% of new vehicles' cost comes from the electronic components that give a car its safety, reliability, comfort and autonomy.
• 12:14
Speaker 1: But despite collision warning, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and adaptive headlights, advanced traction control, gps navigation and automatic parking, roughly 13 million car accidents occur annually, involving 23.6 million drivers and vehicles that, according to this company, ccc, as a result, the advanced technology in vehicles contributes to a 60% increase in the amount of time it takes for cars to enter repair shops compared to pre-pandemic times.
• 12:44
Speaker 1: Kyle Krumloff, director of industry analytics at CCC and co-author of the report, said the intricacy of vehicles is creating a new normal Don't wreck your car because it's going to cost you out the wazoo.
• 12:57
Speaker 1: Don't ask me what the wazoo is, well, based on electronics.
• 13:03
Speaker 3: Is there a reason everything has to go through one mainframe in the car?
• 13:06
Speaker 3: Can't they have separate ones?
• 13:08
Speaker 3: Is there a cost?
• 13:08
Speaker 2: Some of them have got like 20 different computers.
• 13:10
Speaker 3: But they all run through the same head.
• 13:12
Speaker 2: Right, but you've got to have them a place.
• 13:14
Speaker 2: They can all communicate with each other, it's true?
• 13:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's like the windshield.
• 13:18
Speaker 1: Dale Holquist got us going on that.
• 13:21
Speaker 1: Hey Don, it's not just about buying a windshield anymore.
• 13:23
Speaker 1: No, Because, now with that stuff up there behind the rearview mirror that you've got to have recalibrated to the car which the car you know.
• 13:36
Speaker 1: It may be a Buick Century but there are various and sundry differences within the Buick Century line that that stuff up there behind the rearview mirror has to be calibrated correctly.
• 13:50
Speaker 3: Exactly, and you're seeing that on those windshield commercials now where they talk about that.
• 13:53
Speaker 3: My first Cadillac that happened I had a windshield replaced took it to a name brand place here in Houston.
• 13:59
Speaker 3: Not going to say it, they cut the windshield out.
• 14:01
Speaker 3: But when they did that, they cut everything up in the headliner.
• 14:03
Speaker 3: Oh no, I had to wait three weeks for a new headliner.
• 14:08
Speaker 3: Oh my God, I had the new windshield but I couldn't use any of the functions because they cut all the wires Many vehicles now include automated driving functions, most new vehicles equipped with level one or level two automation and safety features, such as automatic emergency braking.
• 14:22
Speaker 1: The growth of that technology in the past few years is staggering, rising from being in 25% of the vehicles in 2017 to an estimated 95% in 2023, according to the research.
• 14:32
Speaker 1: This is a story from Automotive News.
• 14:34
Speaker 1: This abundance of vehicle technology has resulted in a burgeoning cottage industry of collision repair shops that focus solely on the recalibration of a car's sensors and safety systems that are damaged or compromised as a result of accidents.
• 14:48
Speaker 1: If your kid's looking for something to do, put him into the computer department over at Houston Community College or your college, wherever you are, wherever yeah.
• 14:57
Speaker 1: Learn all of that stuff.
• 14:59
Speaker 1: Have him open his own shop.
• 15:00
  Speaker 1: He'll make a bajillion dollars.
• 15:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, level 5 Solutions in Springfield, virginia, takes vehicles that are fixed at traditional body shops and recalibrates the sensor targets that may have been knocked out of alignment in a collision.
• 15:13
Speaker 1: We do the calibration and we'll program any modules that have been replaced and need to be coded to that particular vehicle.
• 15:21
Speaker 1: According to Bethany Youngblood, who co-founded Level 5 Solutions in 2020 with Cameron Carter and he's the managing partner, we do alignments as well as make sure there is no suspension damage and that the thrust angle of the rear wheels is straight and that the steering wheel sensor is reading correctly, which is required prior to the calibration.
• 15:41
Speaker 1: So they kind of go hand in hand.
• 15:43
Speaker 3: But you know, if they couldn't recalibrate it, they'd probably have the new part too.
• 15:47
  Speaker 1: Probably have something.
• 15:47
Speaker 1: Crash Course Report also covered some trends for 24, including labor rates and shortages.
• 15:52
Speaker 1: It said collision labor rates have increased over the past two years, while technician employment levels have increased for the first time in six years.
• 16:01
Speaker 1: So the kids are getting the word.
• 16:03
Speaker 2: Getting into the computer sciences?
• 16:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, in six years.
• 16:04
Speaker 2: So the kids are getting the word Getting into the computer sciences.
• 16:06
Speaker 1: Demand for new collision technicians is expected to be 20,000 people per year through 2027.
• 16:14
Speaker 3: And you don't have to get your hands dirty.
• 16:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't have to get out in the heat.
• 16:18
Speaker 1: Get your laptop Go to town.
• 16:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I'll do that.
• 16:22
Speaker 1: You'd say, cut me off?
• 16:24
Speaker 1: Mm-hmm, gladly, all right, we need to take a break.
• 16:31
Speaker 1: Yes, if you'd like to get in touch with us, shoot us an email.
• 16:36
Speaker 1: The address here is info at inwheeltimecom.
• 16:40
Speaker 1: We'll be back with races that defined America and Mr Barr's review of the 2024 Chevy Traverse.
• 16:47
Speaker 1: Right after this, the original group of Loopy Tortilla restaurants will have you telling your family and friends just what the original recipe means when it comes to the best fajitas in Southeast Texas.
• 16:56

• 19:26
  Speaker 2: on All right.
• 19:26
Speaker 1: Time now for Jeff's feature.
• 19:28
Speaker 1: Today, it's going to be races that defined America.
• 19:32
Speaker 3: Yes, Five iconic races that defined America and also some of the culture too.
• 19:37
Speaker 3: So number five we have here, Mike, is the Baja 1000.
• 19:41
Speaker 3: It is an off-road race that puts vehicles and drivers through some of the toughest terrains.
• 19:45
Speaker 3: Held on the Mexican Baja California Peninsula, this race is a favorite among off-road racing enthusiasts from America.
• 19:53
Speaker 3: Its unforgiving course tests the durability and resilience of the vehicles and drivers alike, making it a legacy event even in the off-road racing community.
• 20:02
Speaker 1: All that comes to mind is Richard Tomlin.
• 20:05
  Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
• 20:07
Speaker 3: You'll think more of that.
• 20:08
Speaker 3: So the number four would be the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
• 20:12
Speaker 3: Hello, the International Hill Climb, also known as Don the Race to the Clouds, which you were on.
• 20:19
Speaker 1: Oh hell, no, there's no damn race in my mind.
• 20:20
Speaker 1: We talked about that.
• 20:21
Speaker 1: Yeah it, there's no damn race in my mind.
• 20:21
Speaker 1: It's white knuckle race.
• 20:22
Speaker 1: That's what it is.
• 20:23
Speaker 3: It's a unique challenge in the world of motorsports.
• 20:25
Speaker 3: Competitors race up a steep and winding bike's peak in Colorado.
• 20:28
Speaker 3: I got off on my timing, uh-oh, facing the thinning air and the high altitudes.
• 20:33
Speaker 3: This race has been a proving ground for both conventional and electric vehicles, showcasing an evolving landscape of the automotive technology.
• 20:41
Speaker 3: So Mike went ahead.
• 20:43
Speaker 3: Landscape of the automotive technology, so Mike went ahead.
• 20:45
Speaker 3: The 24 Hours of Le Mans, which is not very similar to San Leon, but we're going to get there.
• 20:49
Speaker 1: I mean Le Mans, le Mans.
• 20:52
Speaker 3: Well, not based in the US.
• 20:54
Speaker 3: The influence of the 24-hour race on American motorsports cannot be overstated.
• 20:58
Speaker 3: American teams and drivers have a long history of participation and success in this endurance race.
• 21:04
Speaker 3: If you remember the Ford GT40s victory over Ferrari in the 1960s, that was Le Mans.
• 21:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, the tale of American ingenuity and rivalry, and still inspires automotive enthusiasts and professionals alike to this day.
• 21:18
Speaker 3: Then you got the Daytona 500.
• 21:22
Speaker 3: Woo-wee, known as the great American race, the Daytona 500 in NASCAR, most prestigious event since its inception, mike, in 1959.
• 21:30
Speaker 3: It's been held at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida.
• 21:33
Speaker 3: This race is synonymous with high octane excitement and has been the most dramatic finishes in NASCAR history.
• 21:40
Speaker 3: Legends like Mr Richard Petty, dale Earnhardt, have carved their names into the annals of the Daytona 500.
• 21:48
Speaker 3: Can you say annals on the radio.
• 21:50
Speaker 3: You can say that three times.
• 21:51
Speaker 3: Last one, or the number one race is the Indy 500.
• 21:56
Speaker 3: Of course, the Indy 500 is an iconic fixture in American motorsports.
• 22:00
Speaker 3: Held annually at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, this race has been a staple since 1911.
• 22:07
Speaker 3: It's not just about speed, it's a test of endurance, strategy, sheer human and machine capability.
• 22:13
Speaker 3: Mike, the race's rich history and tradition of drinking milk in Victory Lane resonate deeply with fans nationwide.
• 22:21
Speaker 1: You know, the one race that comes to my mind and I don't know why, I don't really know why is a NASCAR race at Riverside California.
• 22:30
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that road race at Riverside California always sticks out in my mind.
• 22:35
Speaker 1: They had some horrific wrecks out there, but it was out basically in the countryside back in the day and I don't know what something attracted me to that.
• 22:44
Speaker 1: The Dale Earnhardt, the Richard Petty, all of those guys back there, the Buddy Bakers man those guys?
• 22:51
Speaker 1: They're all famous drivers, yeah but they could tear that thing up and you would think NASCAR circle racing knew they kicked it out there on that road course.
• 23:01
Speaker 1: All right time now for this hour's car review here on the In-Wheel Time Car Talk Show.
• 23:05
Speaker 1: Mr Mars has the 2024 Chevy Traverse.
• 23:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, it did, and I was really impressed with this vehicle.
• 23:12
Speaker 2: So I'm going to have to hit the highlights pretty quick.
• 23:14
Speaker 2: But it's the 24 Traverse RS all-wheel drive.
• 23:18
Speaker 1: By the way, and if I could interrupt here just for a moment, that picture that appears on there with you, that's when you actually had hair up in the front and you kind of combed it back I thought about going back to all the way back to where I used to have brown hair, but I thought that might be you don't need to get out the dye bottle but no no, I got pictures of it okay use that moving on in a review
• 23:36
Speaker 2: so this is the third generation.
• 23:38
  Speaker 2: It's redesigned for 20 and 24.
• 23:40
Speaker 2: There's actually four different trim levels.
• 23:42
Speaker 2: You can get on the Traverse now the LS, the LT, the Z71, and the RS.
• 23:46
Speaker 2: Now we happen to have the RS with the all-wheel drive.
• 23:50
Speaker 2: It comes with front-wheel drive.
• 23:51
Speaker 2: Otherwise, Now this they consider this a mid-size SUV.
• 23:55
Speaker 2: Now, to me this is a big mid-size SUV.
• 24:00
Speaker 2: Seats seven people got two captain chairs, two in the second row and three it's what they say For the third row On the vehicle we happen to be driving.
• 24:07
Speaker 2: Did you get back To the third row?
• 24:08
  Speaker 2: Test it out?
• 24:08
Speaker 2: I looked at it.
• 24:10
Speaker 2: You wouldn't get you Out of there, Couldn't get my Granddaughters to do it Neither.
• 24:13
Speaker 2: So up front You're going to find LED lighting You're going to have On the front around.
• 24:19
Speaker 2: It's got a black grill because of the rs.
• 24:21
Speaker 2: It's got the special rs badging.
• 24:24
Speaker 2: Got a lot of other black features, like the roof rails good look, body side moldings and uh, and the black wheel moldings are even you know chevy's bumped it up with the they really have particularly, and I particularly like this vehicle.
• 24:35
Speaker 2: like I say, got deep tinted side glass, heated, power folding side mirrors, got a panoramic sunroof that we never got it quite open, but anyway, also has a power liftgate with an auto-sense key fob.
• 24:47
Speaker 2: You know, sometimes they tell you rub your foot underneath and you hit the sensor.
• 24:50
Speaker 2: Well, this one, if you put the setting until you want to do it, you just walk up to it.
• 24:54
Speaker 2: It senses the key fobs close enough and boop it, just automatically opens it.
• 24:58
Speaker 3: And I thought that was pretty cool.
• 25:00
Speaker 2: Now it had 22-inch black wheels on it to go along with all the black moldings that are on it.
• 25:06
Speaker 2: Now you get inside.
• 25:07
Speaker 2: We had the leather seating surfaces.
• 25:09
Speaker 2: First row is vented and heated.
• 25:13
Speaker 2: The second row, the outboard seats, are heated and vented and the power folding on the third row.
• 25:18
Speaker 2: One of my kids tried to fold the third row down to put some stuff in there and finally realized she had to push a button instead of trying to pull a lever.
• 25:27
Speaker 2: Up front you're going to find the 11-inch driver display that we used to call a gauge package, the 17.7-inch diagonal LCD display that's right in the middle of the dash.
• 25:37
Speaker 2: You're going to find all your convenience controls.
• 25:39
Speaker 2: It's got the surround view camera settings on it, where you can bounce between different cameras.
• 25:43
Speaker 2: It even has the H surround view camera settings on it, where you can bounce between different cameras.
• 25:46
Speaker 2: It even has the hitch view guidance program in it so that if you're backing up to hook up to your trailer, it'll help you out with that as well.
• 25:51
Speaker 2: It also had the digital rear view mirror that I have come to like a lot, and there's a couple other places chevrolet needs to put that for.
• 25:58
Speaker 2: Uh, their vehicles had a wireless phone charger, google, android and Apple applications that you can use, front and rear USB ports, because this is a big vehicle, it's almost it's big enough to carry your family, that's for sure Bose premium audio 10-speaker system in it.
• 26:17
Speaker 2: Up front, though, to make all this stuff go, it had a 2.5-liter turbo.
• 26:22
Speaker 2: Now, again, this is these small turbos 328 horsepower, 326 pounds.
• 26:27
  Speaker 1: Is it?
• 26:28
  Speaker 2: a four banger.
• 26:28
Speaker 2: Yes, wow, the 326 pound-feet of torque, which is up 22% over last year.
• 26:36
Speaker 2: It's an eight-speed automatic transmission and it is rated to pull 5,000 pounds properly equipped.
• 26:42
Speaker 2: Now the EPA says you should be looking for about 19 in the city, 24 on the highway and combined at 21.
• 26:48
Speaker 2: I got 20.5 miles across the 452.2 miles that I drove this vehicle and I will tell you it rides and drives like a CUV, it's not like a big on-frame heavy.
• 27:00
Speaker 2: How much, ooh, I'm going to.
• 27:05
Speaker 2: Let me tell you you can get a base model $37,600.
• 27:10
Speaker 2: And a base trim price for the RS is $54,200.
• 27:14
  Speaker 2: As tested, $57,495.
• 27:18
Speaker 2: Oh, now you look at a Kia Telluride, based on its $36,199.
• 27:23
Speaker 2: The Hyundai Palisade is $36,650.
• 27:26
  Speaker 2: Mazda CX-90s $37,845.
• 27:29
Speaker 2: So, base price, they're all right in there in the same.
• 27:31
Speaker 2: But I will tell you that I was impressed with this vehicle because how quiet it is, how well it drove out on the highway.
• 27:39
Speaker 2: You know they've redone some of Interstate 10, where it's nice and smooth, you can turn the radio off.
• 27:43
Speaker 2: You, you know they've redone some of Interstate 10, where it's nice and smooth, you can turn the radio off, you still can't hear the road noise at 75 miles an hour.
• 27:47
Speaker 1: I'll tell you I bought two Suburbans back when I was, you know, raising two girls.
• 27:51
Speaker 1: Loved both of them, but boy.
• 27:53
Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, if this were available back then, that's what I'd buy.
• 27:56
Speaker 1: Absolutely the only reason being is because we didn't have much choice back in the day.
• 28:01
Speaker 1: But that body on frame, very heavy, bad gas mileage, all of that sort of stuff back in the day, Sure, but that you got the gas mileage, you got the comfort and it rides like a car and that's what you feel like when you get in.
• 28:17
Speaker 2: When I first got in, I said, oh my God, this is a Suburban, but it's not.
• 28:21
Speaker 3: When I saw that car sitting out there when you had it, I thought it was a Tahoe.
• 28:25
Speaker 3: I absolutely thought it was a Tahoe, until I walked up and saw the Traverse.
• 28:30
Speaker 2: It would be a good option for somebody that didn't want to quite pay that Tahoe price.
• 28:34
Speaker 3: Because it is a little bigger.
• 28:36
Speaker 3: The Tahoe is a little larger.
• 28:37
Speaker 1: I like it a lot, absolutely, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right.
• 28:41
