- 0:28Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, bring in zac Efron and Ashley tissed
- 0:31Speaker 3: down because.
- 0:31Speaker 2: It and what's the missus? Trench ball trench bull.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Note, what's the names darves?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Because it's fucking summertime?
- 0:39Speaker 3: Baby, So and I are also very Mary.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Kayden Ashley matching today.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Yeah, literally, both rocked up in a gray band tea
- 0:49Speaker 3: slip back bun, statement necklace, gold hoops, and a ribbon
- 0:53Speaker 3: in our hair. So I'm honestly surprised you're not wearing
- 0:56Speaker 3: cowboy booths.
- 0:57Speaker 4: I know it's like thirty seven degrees today.
- 0:59Speaker 3: I couldn't do it. Are committed, proud of you? Okay, So, today,
- 1:03Speaker 3: given that it's summer, we are going to do our
- 1:08Speaker 3: seasonal episode of our Hot Chicks Summer Checklist. We you
- 1:12Speaker 3: chicks love these episodes, I know and I love that.
- 1:15Speaker 3: And again, a Hot Chick summer is an energy. It's
- 1:19Speaker 3: not a look it's not anything. It's feeling, it's vibing
- 1:22Speaker 3: and it's thriving. Yes, But before we get into the episode,
- 1:26Speaker 3: we always share our life lesson of the week, but
- 1:29Speaker 3: I wanted to start with game. Okay, do you want
- 1:33Speaker 3: to fla goop? I don't know if you would have
- 1:36Speaker 3: seen this, but it's currently like trending on TikTok and
- 1:39Speaker 3: it's we listen.
- 1:41Speaker 2: We don't judge.
- 1:43Speaker 3: No, and you admit something to the other person and
- 1:47Speaker 3: you listen, but we don't judge. Okay, Sometimes when I'm
- 1:51Speaker 3: at your house, I'll just like use your razor even
- 1:54Speaker 3: if I don't really need to, And I'm like, I'll
- 1:56Speaker 3: use it like everywhere, Like I'll shave my pupes with your.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Why do I think I already.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Knew that I've definitely done it on holidays. I was
- 2:05Speaker 3: going to say definitely, But sometimes when I'm just at
- 2:08Speaker 3: your house, I'm like, I might as well because you
- 2:10Speaker 3: always have nicer raisors.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Than I do.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Oh my God is always nicer. So I sometimes just
- 2:18Speaker 3: because you've always got like the moisturizing one. Yes, yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 3: but they're like twenty bucks. I don't know, I always
- 2:23Speaker 3: get them on sale. Yeah, So sometimes I'll just use
- 2:25Speaker 3: your razor.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Wow, because I knew that you use them when we
- 2:29Speaker 4: go away together, because I purposely don't put them back
- 2:32Speaker 4: in my toilet trees and I leave them in the
- 2:34Speaker 4: shower knowing that you'll probably need to use.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Is that gross?
- 2:38Speaker 4: Okay, I've got one for you. So Alex never finishes
- 2:43Speaker 4: her food. So a lot of the time when you
- 2:45Speaker 4: come to my house, whether we've got takeaway or we've
- 2:48Speaker 4: made food, when I clear away your plate, I eat
- 2:52Speaker 4: your leftovers. Yeah, you're like half chewed up.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Really do like half two food and cook them well.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Like you always leave like a couple of olives left,
- 3:06Speaker 4: and I always eat them. And you think I'm washing
- 3:09Speaker 4: up and I'm alone.
- 3:10Speaker 3: With things, just having a little nibble. Yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 4: And I told Chris the other day and he was like,
- 3:16Speaker 4: what is wrong with you? I was like, I just
- 3:18Speaker 4: know that I'll be in bed trying to go to sleep,
- 3:21Speaker 4: like thinking about those three olives that are now in
- 3:23Speaker 4: the bin that I could have beaten.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Sometimes when I borrow some of your clothes, I will
- 3:28Speaker 3: wait until you ask for it to back, until I
- 3:31Speaker 3: give it back because I really like the clothes.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I think there's a few bases that there are that
- 3:37Speaker 4: are still out online.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Yeah, there are, and there's a reason why they haven't
- 3:41Speaker 3: come back. Fuck. I'm like, well she has.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Asked them back, like they're mine, they're my clothes.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, but they're ours. Oh my god, do
- 3:51Speaker 3: my picture back?
- 3:54Speaker 4: That was fun? Can you chicks put yours in the
- 3:56Speaker 4: comments to make us feel better about ourselves?
- 3:58Speaker 3: Thank you?
- 3:59Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 4:00Speaker 3: All right?
- 4:01Speaker 2: What's your life lesson of the week?
- 4:02Speaker 3: Okay, mine's slightly different.
- 4:04Speaker 4: It's on a slightly different tangent e. Yeah, and it's
- 4:07Speaker 4: a life lesson that we picked up not in the
- 4:10Speaker 4: last week, but I would say like in the last year.
- 4:14Speaker 3: And it's the Sorted app. Oh yes, yes.
- 4:17Speaker 4: So if you checks haven't heard of the Sorted app,
- 4:21Speaker 4: it's an app that allows you to like save and
- 4:23Speaker 4: organize items from any online store into lists.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Yeah. If you have like five billion shopping tabs open
- 4:30Speaker 3: of all the things that you want to buy, this
- 4:32Speaker 3: is the app for you.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Yeah, or like a note app full of random links
- 4:37Speaker 4: to things that you're like, oh yeah, I'll go back
- 4:38Speaker 4: and buy that when it's on sale, and then you
- 4:40Speaker 4: just forget you never do. Yeah, you're like, fuck my life.
- 4:44Speaker 4: So This is so good for organizing, like wish lists
- 4:47Speaker 4: for Christmas, for your birthday, if you're going on Eurosummer, like,
- 4:52Speaker 4: it's just amazing.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 4: So we are absolutely obsessed, and we're actually teaming up
- 4:58Speaker 4: with Sorted to do a very exciting giveaway next week.
- 5:03Speaker 4: We won't spill all the details.
- 5:04Speaker 2: It's just ten thousand dollars.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Okay, we'll spill all the details.
- 5:11Speaker 3: So worth ten billion dollars, but on the thousand dollars,
- 5:17Speaker 3: ten thousand dollars over ten days. Yeah, we're doing ten
- 5:19Speaker 3: days of Christmas. Guys, We're doing ten days of Christmas. Sorry.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Sorry, we are doing a ten days of Christmas giveaway.
- 5:26Speaker 4: We Sorted with over ten thousand dollars worth of goodies
- 5:30Speaker 4: to win, like dice in air, apps or rings, robes,
- 5:35Speaker 4: k eighteen, so many cute accessories, home wears, specials, new balances,
- 5:41Speaker 4: whatever you want. Yeah, and sow Yeah honestly one hour
- 5:46Speaker 4: with sour, no questions.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Snow exchanges. Sorry.
- 5:51Speaker 4: So yeah, every day we'll be dropping a different Sorted
- 5:53Speaker 4: wish list that you can throw your hat in for
- 5:55Speaker 4: a chance to win. And it starts on the first
- 5:57Speaker 4: of December.
- 5:58Speaker 2: We're fucking Santa Claus yeah.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Honestly, my first one for my Hot Chick summer checklist
- 6:11Speaker 3: this summer is I want to start like seventeen new hobbies.
- 6:15Speaker 3: And I know this is probably just my like adhdving,
- 6:18Speaker 3: like let's start that that's shunny and new. I just
- 6:21Speaker 3: want to go and do things that have absolutely nothing
- 6:25Speaker 3: to do with self betterment or work or making more
- 6:32Speaker 3: money or.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Whatever that is.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I know there's like two years ago my news resolution
- 6:37Speaker 3: was like get rich or like really focus on my finances,
- 6:40Speaker 3: which is really good and it is really important to
- 6:44Speaker 3: do that.
- 6:44Speaker 2: But I think for me this summer, my number one.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Priority is to really have fun and play. And I
- 6:51Speaker 3: think everyone that I've been speaking to, I think hobbies
- 6:54Speaker 3: have taken a bit of a breast on the back
- 6:57Speaker 3: burner for.
- 6:57Speaker 2: A lot of people.
- 6:58Speaker 3: It's been a bit of a groin this year. And
- 7:02Speaker 3: I just want to literally learn things for the sake
- 7:05Speaker 3: of learning and not for the sake of self betterment,
- 7:08Speaker 3: and I think hobbies play such a crucial part.
- 7:11Speaker 2: We actually have an episode.
- 7:12Speaker 3: We did recently on like the four Hobbies that you Need,
- 7:16Speaker 3: and it kind of made me realize how much I
- 7:19Speaker 3: haven't really prioritized just hobbies that I'm finding fun outside
- 7:24Speaker 3: of like reading. Yeah, I agree.
- 7:26Speaker 4: I feel like my hobbies have sort of remained the
- 7:28Speaker 4: same yeah, for a long time, and even then, I'm
- 7:31Speaker 4: just not putting as much time to them as I should,
- 7:35Speaker 4: or as I not even as I should, but as
- 7:37Speaker 4: I want to exactly.
- 7:38Speaker 3: And part of the fun of hobbies is learning a
- 7:40Speaker 3: new one. So I have some like twenty twenty five
- 7:43Speaker 3: hot girl hobbies that I'm going to be starting. One
- 7:47Speaker 3: knitting I want to learn.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I used to knit when I.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Was little, and I loved it. It's so good, especially
- 7:54Speaker 3: if you're like watching TV and you're someone that needs
- 7:56Speaker 3: to do something with your hands instead of scrolling on
- 7:59Speaker 3: your phone. Knit. On top of that, I want to
- 8:02Speaker 3: learn how to sew. I want to get a sewing machine,
- 8:05Speaker 3: like a beginner like her first machine, like a little
- 8:09Speaker 3: girl one, and yeah, and literally learn how to sew,
- 8:14Speaker 3: because one that's also going to save me so much
- 8:16Speaker 3: money with like hemming pants or like fixing clothes that
- 8:20Speaker 3: I have that maybe the zipp is broken, fixing the straps,
- 8:24Speaker 3: and honestly, it's so simple, like when you look up
- 8:26Speaker 3: the tutorials. I'm sure it'll take me a little while,
- 8:28Speaker 3: but it's just a hobby and a skill that I
- 8:30Speaker 3: want to have. And then another one is an instrument
- 8:35Speaker 3: I really want to prioritize. I used to play piano
- 8:37Speaker 3: when I was little, so I really want to prioritize
- 8:40Speaker 3: getting back into that. Yes, you've got your Disney playbook,
- 8:43Speaker 3: come on, I know, and I really want to get
- 8:46Speaker 3: back into doing that that I'm even thinking of like
- 8:49Speaker 3: looking into lessons, like a weekly lesson. I love that,
- 8:52Speaker 3: I know, and like she'll be like did you practice?
- 8:54Speaker 3: And I'll be like, no, miss. Those are like some
- 8:58Speaker 3: hobbies that I really want to do, so like nitty sewing,
- 9:01Speaker 3: learning an instrument, and continuing with like a couple that
- 9:05Speaker 3: I already have in terms of like keeping up with
- 9:08Speaker 3: the reading, going for more swims.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, what about you?
- 9:12Speaker 3: What hobbies do you want to start this summer.
- 9:13Speaker 4: I've been seeing so much on junk journaling, and I
- 9:17Speaker 4: think that's something that's really easy to do and get into.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Like obviously so many people are very skilled at scrapbooking,
- 9:26Speaker 4: but I also think it's not necessarily something like painting
- 9:29Speaker 4: or drawing, where if you're not necessarily if you don't
- 9:32Speaker 4: necessarily have a lot of experience in it like you
- 9:34Speaker 4: can still have fun with it and play.
- 9:36Speaker 3: You don't have to have any experience for art. I
- 9:38Speaker 3: think that's the trouble that we have that we look
- 9:41Speaker 3: at it and we think we have to be good
- 9:43Speaker 3: at it. Yeah, you don't have to. Like, that's why
- 9:46Speaker 3: art is so amazing and so beautiful is because you
- 9:49Speaker 3: don't have to be good at it. It's just an expression.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Yeah. And I used to always draw when I was
- 9:54Speaker 4: a little kid, and I absolutely loved it. And I'm
- 9:56Speaker 4: a very nostalgic person, so I feel like doing something
- 9:59Speaker 4: like junk journaling would really fill my cup and it
- 10:03Speaker 4: would just be so cute to be able to like
- 10:05Speaker 4: pick up you know, like coasters and postcards and stickers
- 10:08Speaker 4: and matchbooks and like just little things along the way
- 10:11Speaker 4: from the summer and start doing that and then what else?
- 10:15Speaker 4: I think maybe because I'll probably be going down to
- 10:18Speaker 4: Wollongong quite a bit to see my family over the summer.
- 10:20Speaker 4: And my dad recently got a new surfboard and I
- 10:23Speaker 4: was like and then he and he was like, you
- 10:26Speaker 4: can borrow it any type, So.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Like, God, are you going to get back into surfs?
- 10:31Speaker 4: I'm like, that could be fun, because that's the thing
- 10:33Speaker 4: for me, I've always been like, well, I'm not going
- 10:35Speaker 4: to buy a board. I don't have anywhere to store
- 10:37Speaker 4: it in my one bedroom shoe box.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And you don't really live near like forty minutes to
- 10:41Speaker 3: get to be.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Yeah at the moment. Whereas if I can just go
- 10:44Speaker 4: down to Wollongong and like steal dad's board, that would
- 10:46Speaker 4: be sick.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah. So yeah, those are probably two and I love
- 10:49Speaker 3: that Soper Girl.
- 10:53Speaker 4: My next Hot Chick Summer checklist item is summer proof
- 10:58Speaker 4: your makeup routine. This is a bane of my existence.
- 11:03Speaker 3: You've been doing this for the last seven years.
- 11:04Speaker 4: I've been doing this all year round because I run hot.
- 11:07Speaker 4: She's a hotty Ptodi number one use less product.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Overall, this makes so much sense. You know what. I
- 11:15Speaker 3: think my frontal lobe is developing because I think skin
- 11:19Speaker 3: tints look better than foundation.
- 11:22Speaker 4: You've been really rocking the skin tints and during summer.
- 11:24Speaker 4: It is such a good idea because if you really
- 11:28Speaker 4: think about it, it does make sense like if you
- 11:29Speaker 4: have more product on, that means that there's more product
- 11:32Speaker 4: to slip and slide around and melt off when it
- 11:34Speaker 4: gets really hot.
- 11:35Speaker 3: I just think it accentuates like any unwanted texture that
- 11:40Speaker 3: you don't want to accentuate. Yeah, Whereas like previously, I
- 11:44Speaker 3: was thinking like that's what's going to hide the texture,
- 11:47Speaker 3: but no, yeah, opposite.
- 11:50Speaker 4: And as you sweat or get more oily throughout a
- 11:53Speaker 4: hot day, your skin is going to look more textured anyway.
- 11:56Speaker 4: So the more products you have on, the more it's
- 11:58Speaker 4: going to accentuate that. And it's also uncomfortable. I love
- 12:01Speaker 4: like a bronzing glow drop as a base.
- 12:06Speaker 3: I love that we're reading this out while we're sitting
- 12:08Speaker 3: here in a way.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Look we're in the studio.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I know, I degree, I agree. I just also love
- 12:15Speaker 3: giving us shit.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. And speaking of if you do decide to
- 12:19Speaker 4: opt for like a full beat, go for a waterproof
- 12:23Speaker 4: and heat resistant foundation like the Esday Lauda Doublewar Foundation,
- 12:28Speaker 4: the Mabelene Super Stay, or the Mac Studio Fixed Fluid, Yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 4: because they're less likely to move around if you are
- 12:35Speaker 4: sweating and stuff throughout the day.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Yeah. I think also looking at long wear makeup, like tints,
- 12:41Speaker 3: like lip tints, eyebrow tints, getting like a lash lift
- 12:45Speaker 3: and a lash tint when we're going into summer, Like
- 12:48Speaker 3: that'll be my splurge to be like, all right, I'll
- 12:51Speaker 3: go get my brows done and tinted and my lash
- 12:53Speaker 3: is lifted and tinted and do that, because then I'm
- 12:56Speaker 3: kind of like I'm half done. I'm really about like
- 13:00Speaker 3: the least amount of effort that I can possibly do
- 13:03Speaker 3: in order to get the result of not looking like
- 13:06Speaker 3: a corpse.
- 13:07Speaker 4: High maintenance to be low maintenance.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Okay, our next Hot Chick summer check this item is
- 13:12Speaker 3: to declutter the shit out of your shit, because I know,
- 13:19Speaker 3: I know you all have like a pile somewhere, whether
- 13:23Speaker 3: it's on the chair, whether it's in a spare room,
- 13:26Speaker 3: whether it's in the back of your wardrobe that you
- 13:28Speaker 3: like chuck it in there because a guy was coming
- 13:30Speaker 3: over and you didn't want your room to be messy.
- 13:32Speaker 3: It's somewhere, and it's there. And I've put together like
- 13:35Speaker 3: a little checklist for your digital declutter, your physical declutter,
- 13:41Speaker 3: and your mental declutter, because when you've got that little
- 13:44Speaker 3: break in between Christmas and New Year's that is the time.
- 13:50Speaker 3: It is the time to literally gut it and get
- 13:53Speaker 3: it all out so that way you can go into
- 13:55Speaker 3: the new year with such a fresh, lighter space. And
- 13:59Speaker 3: it is my favorite thing to do because I think
- 14:02Speaker 3: as well, when you're doing this, yes, you take everything
- 14:05Speaker 3: out and you put it all in a pile, and
- 14:07Speaker 3: then you but I'm tired and I don't want to
- 14:10Speaker 3: do it, and then you've got to go to work
- 14:11Speaker 3: and blah blah blah blah blah. So that's why doing
- 14:13Speaker 3: it during this time of the year, during summer, when
- 14:15Speaker 3: you're maybe off work, or you've got a little bit
- 14:17Speaker 3: less on your plate, maybe you're on holidays, it's a
- 14:20Speaker 3: good time to do it because you can space it
- 14:21Speaker 3: out a little bit. You can maybe do one room
- 14:24Speaker 3: on one day, or you can do your phone on
- 14:27Speaker 3: one day and then your wardrobe on another day. And
- 14:29Speaker 3: you don't have to get it all done in one
- 14:30Speaker 3: day if you don't want to, but you also can
- 14:32Speaker 3: if you do want to.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I did that last summer holidays, during that Christmas
- 14:36Speaker 4: break between Christmas and New Year, and I did my declutter.
- 14:40Speaker 4: But then during the boxing day sales, I also bought
- 14:43Speaker 4: a bunch of organizer stuff on sale, so like sunglasses,
- 14:47Speaker 4: organizers and things like that, to just make sure that
- 14:50Speaker 4: things would stay decluttered.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Yeah, So for your digital de clutter, you break it
- 14:55Speaker 3: up between like your computer and your phone, so your
- 14:57Speaker 3: computer is unsubscribing from emails, setting up email spam filters
- 15:02Speaker 3: to automatically delete, delete and clean out your files that
- 15:07Speaker 3: are taking up memory. And for your phone, you want
- 15:09Speaker 3: to be removing unused apps. For me personally, what I'm
- 15:13Speaker 3: going to do this year is I'm going to delete
- 15:15Speaker 3: all my apps and then as I need them, I'll
- 15:18Speaker 3: redownload them so it really shows me what apps I'm using,
- 15:21Speaker 3: because it's kind of like when you clean out your
- 15:23Speaker 3: wardrobe with apps and you're like, oh no, but I
- 15:26Speaker 3: might need that when the red hawk comes in the
- 15:27Speaker 3: blue moon of the silver rising of the airy sun, like,
- 15:30Speaker 3: and you're like, I'd never fucking use it, and then
- 15:33Speaker 3: turn off non essential notifications.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I actually think you should just turn off.
- 15:37Speaker 3: All notifications digitally a Fox method if you will ye,
- 15:40Speaker 3: set app time limits, delete old notes you don't need,
- 15:44Speaker 3: your grocery list from twenty twelve, delete old photos. Go
- 15:48Speaker 3: through your social media saves folder. This one is one
- 15:51Speaker 3: of my favorites because there's things saved in there that
- 15:53Speaker 3: you don't need and you don't care. Yeah, and it's
- 15:56Speaker 3: just taking up memory on your phone. And that's why
- 15:58Speaker 3: your phone's really slow, and delete screenshots again you don't
- 16:01Speaker 3: need them, you never look at them. And so for
- 16:03Speaker 3: your physical declutter, this is evidently one that we've already mentioned,
- 16:08Speaker 3: but our favorite it's to depop your wardrobe. Last year
- 16:13Speaker 3: I did this. I made like a thousand dollars, and
- 16:16Speaker 3: I was listing things for like twenty dollars max. Like
- 16:20Speaker 3: I'm not saying go pop it on and like try
- 16:22Speaker 3: to get two hundred bucks thro address. I mean, if
- 16:24Speaker 3: it was expensive, short, go for gold. But like I
- 16:27Speaker 3: took the mentality being like I just want it gone
- 16:29Speaker 3: and I just want it out and I don't want
- 16:31Speaker 3: to have to do the back and forth of people
- 16:33Speaker 3: negotiating the prices. Yeah, I want it to be someone
- 16:35Speaker 3: sees it, they're like, oh shit, that's good, and they
- 16:37Speaker 3: just get it. Yeah.
- 16:38Speaker 2: And it was literally such a seamless process.
- 16:40Speaker 3: I would go once a week or like once every
- 16:44Speaker 3: three days, depending on what my schedule was, but I
- 16:47Speaker 3: had that in notes been like items are shipped out
- 16:49Speaker 3: every Wednesday and then literally within like two to three weeks,
- 16:53Speaker 3: I made like a thousand dollars. But it is just
- 16:56Speaker 3: you know, a more sustainable option. They're getting a second life,
- 16:59Speaker 3: and then anything that I I was like, you know,
- 17:02Speaker 3: maybe this is better going to like a Vinnie's. If
- 17:04Speaker 3: you can't be bothered, just drop it to a Vinie's.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Mmm, something like my strategy. Yeah yeah.
- 17:10Speaker 3: And then your kitchen, especially the fridge and the freezer.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I know there's some stuff at the back of that fraser,
- 17:17Speaker 3: like that bag of peas that you haven't touched.
- 17:19Speaker 2: The final declutter for your.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Summer is your mental so work in terms of please
- 17:27Speaker 3: try to have a rest. I know if you're working
- 17:29Speaker 3: shift based or casual work like that can be a
- 17:32Speaker 3: little bit difficult, but at least over a little bit.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Over summer, you have to make sure you're prioritizing your
- 17:37Speaker 3: mental load and resetting and taking time for that. It's
- 17:41Speaker 3: also a really good time to think about what your
- 17:43Speaker 3: career goals will be. But make sure you have the
- 17:46Speaker 3: rest first. And then your friends. Make sure you're spending
- 17:50Speaker 3: time with the friends that mean a lot, and maybe
- 17:52Speaker 3: decluttering out the ones that make the mental load.
- 17:54Speaker 2: A bit heavier.
- 17:55Speaker 3: And then relationships dumpy, shitty boyfriends. Obviously, because December eleventh
- 18:02Speaker 3: is breakup day. Apparently, December eleventh is the most popular
- 18:06Speaker 3: day for breakups.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Out of the entire year.
- 18:10Speaker 3: It's so wild, it's wow. But it makes sense because
- 18:12Speaker 3: people are breaking up with partners or they're going through
- 18:16Speaker 3: breakups and relationships that they don't want to take into
- 18:18Speaker 3: the new year, but also that they don't want to
- 18:21Speaker 3: buy a Christmas present.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Well, I understand that.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I love that there's scientists out there and they go
- 18:28Speaker 3: O coo, we get and they go, let's figure out
- 18:30Speaker 3: when people break up the most.
- 18:32Speaker 4: Yeah, they're like, this is the research that needs to
- 18:34Speaker 4: be done.
- 18:35Speaker 3: And it's the research that we thank them for. Yeah.
- 18:37Speaker 3: So it's a thankless job, sow. It is, so we
- 18:41Speaker 3: here to thank them. Okay.
- 18:42Speaker 4: My next tip for the Hot Chick Summer checklist is
- 18:45Speaker 4: a reminder ooh, and it's a reminder that you don't
- 18:49Speaker 4: need to change your body for a season. You don't
- 18:52Speaker 4: really need to change your body for anything. But we
- 18:56Speaker 4: say this every summer, and I think it bears repeating
- 19:01Speaker 4: that if you have a body, you have a bikini body.
- 19:05Speaker 4: At this time of year, so many of us feel
- 19:08Speaker 4: really insecure and have these thoughts like, oh, I need
- 19:12Speaker 4: to shred for summer or I need to get bikini
- 19:14Speaker 4: body ready.
- 19:15Speaker 3: And I've even just been seeing so much stuff pop
- 19:17Speaker 3: up on social media and I'm like not interested the same.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I just hate it.
- 19:22Speaker 4: I like hate it for myself personally, because obviously it's
- 19:28Speaker 4: very conflicting for to be feeling that way or feel
- 19:32Speaker 4: pressure that you have to change your body for a season.
- 19:34Speaker 4: But I also hate the thought of people feeling like
- 19:37Speaker 4: they can't enjoy the benefits of summer because of how
- 19:41Speaker 4: they look. The best parts of summer is being able
- 19:44Speaker 4: to go out and enjoy the weather, go to the beach,
- 19:46Speaker 4: make memories with your friends, and none of those things
- 19:49Speaker 4: are dependent on how you look. All of the happy
- 19:53Speaker 4: memories that you have with those things that are the
- 19:56Speaker 4: best about summer are the memories that you have.
- 19:58Speaker 3: People aren't going to remember what you looked like at
- 20:01Speaker 3: the beach. People are going to remember, you know, the
- 20:03Speaker 3: really funny thing you did when you're at cocktails with
- 20:05Speaker 3: your friends. They're going to remember the way that you
- 20:08Speaker 3: maybe helped them with something that they needed help with,
- 20:11Speaker 3: or when you gave them a hug when they were
- 20:13Speaker 3: feeling sad. Yeah, like, they're not going to remember anything
- 20:17Speaker 3: other than the way that you made them feel in
- 20:19Speaker 3: those moments.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Like most people we've definitely experienced this, and you know.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Also reminder for us as well.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a reminder for us.
- 20:30Speaker 4: And I think that sometimes it's easier said than done,
- 20:32Speaker 4: just being like embrace.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like a hypocrite half the time. We're like,
- 20:36Speaker 3: if I'm feeling self conscious, and I know you feel
- 20:38Speaker 3: the same way. Yeah, I'm like, no, take your own
- 20:40Speaker 3: fucking advice exactly, Like, take the advice. But we've also
- 20:44Speaker 3: got some actionable tips that can help you embrace your
- 20:48Speaker 3: body this summer. Number one, unfollow social media accounts that
- 20:52Speaker 3: make you feel bad about yourself. Look for people who look.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Like you, and if you're following somebody and they're making
- 20:59Speaker 4: you feel insecure, unfollow them. Yeah. You know, like you
- 21:04Speaker 4: don't need things on your phone that are going to make.
- 21:07Speaker 2: You feel bad.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Yeah. I think sometimes there's this toxic trait of following
- 21:12Speaker 3: people or accounts as inspo, and it's not inspo. It's
- 21:19Speaker 3: a psychological reminder that you're toxically setting up for yourself
- 21:26Speaker 3: of what you want to be and what you're not.
- 21:29Speaker 4: My next tip actively mark content that you find triggering
- 21:34Speaker 4: as not interested on TikTok.
- 21:37Speaker 3: I love that button.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Honestly, it is my favorite button, and it is the
- 21:41Speaker 4: best ways to tell the algorithm that you are not
- 21:44Speaker 4: interested in this. And I've been doing it a lot,
- 21:47Speaker 4: and i feel like I've been seeing less and less
- 21:49Speaker 4: of that type of content on my TikTok. If you
- 21:51Speaker 4: do feel insecure when you're going to the beach or
- 21:53Speaker 4: going for a swim, investing in swim where that makes
- 21:57Speaker 4: you feel as comfortable and supported as possible is going
- 22:00Speaker 4: to help. And then my last tip is organize beach
- 22:04Speaker 4: or swim days with your friends or people that you
- 22:08Speaker 4: love who love you regardless of what you look like,
- 22:13Speaker 4: and replace some of those negative memories or associations that
- 22:16Speaker 4: you have with situations like that and with spaces like
- 22:20Speaker 4: that that typically have made you feel self conscious with
- 22:24Speaker 4: happy memories instead. It will help remind you that when
- 22:28Speaker 4: you go for a swim, the thing that you remember
- 22:30Speaker 4: is like giggling with your friend when.
- 22:32Speaker 3: You got dumped by wave, not playing Mermaids.
- 22:34Speaker 4: And playing Mermaids, not how you look. And it also
- 22:37Speaker 4: gives you fresh reminders that nobody else is looking at
- 22:41Speaker 4: you and nobody else cares about how.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Your body looks. One of my favorite memories at the
- 22:47Speaker 3: beach is when Sala and I were there with like
- 22:51Speaker 3: our two other friends, and sell Me and our friend
- 22:55Speaker 3: Sean just keept fighting over this rock to stand. This
- 23:00Speaker 3: was literally like two months ago, and.
- 23:04Speaker 4: We ran into some chicks while we were but there
- 23:07Speaker 4: was like this rock that if you stood on it,
- 23:09Speaker 4: like you didn't have to tread water, and we all
- 23:12Speaker 4: just kept fighting over this rock, going.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Dylan, that looks really good, and like, those are the
- 23:18Speaker 3: type of memories that I'm like, I don't even remember
- 23:20Speaker 3: what bikini I wore that day, you know, I don't
- 23:23Speaker 3: have like I cannot tell you what I wore that
- 23:27Speaker 3: day or anyone else wore that day. I just remember
- 23:30Speaker 3: really giggling or trying to push Sean off this.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Well that looks really good.
- 23:37Speaker 3: And that's what you know, summer memories and just all
- 23:41Speaker 3: memories should feel like you didn't remember anything about what
- 23:44Speaker 3: he looked like. And my last one is some books,
- 23:48Speaker 3: because we always have to have some We always have
- 23:50Speaker 3: book wrecks. In this episode, I feel like, and it's
- 23:54Speaker 3: five books cool hot girls are reading before twenty twenty five.
- 23:58Speaker 3: So I saw a creator, Maggie Sellers, do a version
- 24:01Speaker 3: of this while she created it on TikTok and I
- 24:04Speaker 3: wanted to share some of mine that I'm going to
- 24:07Speaker 3: be reading before twenty twenty five to be a cool,
- 24:09Speaker 3: hot girl.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Ooh tell me.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 24:12Speaker 3: So number one is the Age of Magical Overthinking notes
- 24:17Speaker 3: on Modern Irrationality by Amanda Montel, and I'm pretty sure
- 24:22Speaker 3: she wrote that specifically for me, the modern Irrationality. I
- 24:25Speaker 3: was like, okay, lowie your voice. Yeah. Also, the cover
- 24:28Speaker 3: is fucking beautiful. I love the cover. It's incredible. The
- 24:32Speaker 3: next one is The Share Memoir Part one. I love Share.
- 24:37Speaker 3: I think she's such an icon. I think there's going
- 24:40Speaker 3: to be so many incredible learnings that I get from
- 24:42Speaker 3: this just about being like a powerful woman who runs
- 24:44Speaker 3: her own business. And I also just love her, and
- 24:47Speaker 3: I feel like memoirs you always just get so many
- 24:49Speaker 3: like bts moments of people, and I just can't wait
- 24:52Speaker 3: to read that. The next is The Psychology of Money.
- 24:55Speaker 3: This is quite a popular novel already, but all the
- 24:59Speaker 3: reviews are so strong for it, and something like financial
- 25:03Speaker 3: literacy is never anything bad to learn about, so I
- 25:06Speaker 3: always like kind of developing that and learning more about that,
- 25:09Speaker 3: especially as I'm trying to save for an apartment and
- 25:15Speaker 3: also go to Europe, so that's probably a good thing
- 25:18Speaker 3: for me to read. We'll see how well that goes.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I'll see you guys in ten years.
- 25:22Speaker 3: I'll be like, guys, I did it.
- 25:23Speaker 4: I know better late than ever.
- 25:26Speaker 3: The next is a bit on the side, and this
- 25:30Speaker 3: book is about finding the little side dishes that just
- 25:33Speaker 3: bring you so much joy and pleasure in life. It's
- 25:37Speaker 3: very similar vibes to women living deliciously. That's kind of
- 25:40Speaker 3: what I get. But in this book she has like
- 25:43Speaker 3: recipes for things that make you feel good every day,
- 25:47Speaker 3: and yeah, and that's like things that I really really
- 25:50Speaker 3: am attracted to, kind of like those dopamine menus, Like
- 25:53Speaker 3: I love those little list of all those checklists of
- 25:55Speaker 3: things that you can do every day to make you
- 25:57Speaker 3: feel good. So that's wham. And then this one is
- 26:00Speaker 3: a bit of a cheat because it's not out yet,
- 26:04Speaker 3: but I've pre ordered it to read in twenty twenty
- 26:06Speaker 3: five and it's Person in Progress, A Roadmap to the
- 26:10Speaker 3: Psychology of Your Twenties by Jemma s Beg our bestie,
- 26:13Speaker 3: Yes love her, and so I've pre ordered that. And
- 26:16Speaker 3: then last but not least, I've already read it. But
- 26:19Speaker 3: every hotcool Girl should read it before twenty twenty five
- 26:22Speaker 3: is Finding Your People by Alexandra Hrugan and Sally McMullen,
- 26:26Speaker 3: and it's the ultimate guide to enhancing your friendships, your connections,
- 26:31Speaker 3: and being your own best friend in your twenties or
- 26:34Speaker 3: any age like, whatever age you are. If you feel
- 26:36Speaker 3: like you're in your thirties and you're struggling for friendships
- 26:38Speaker 3: your forties beyond whatever that is, and you really want
- 26:41Speaker 3: to develop those, or make new friends, or develop the
- 26:45Speaker 3: relationships you have, or step away from toxic relationships, whether
- 26:49Speaker 3: it's romantic or familial, and help find your platonic soulmate.
- 26:54Speaker 3: This is easily the book to help you do that
- 26:56Speaker 3: in twenty twenty five or whenever you want to read it,
- 26:58Speaker 3: start early. But those are my book club books. Cute,
- 27:04Speaker 3: I love that.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:05Speaker 3: We also have something very exciting coming in twenty twenty
- 27:09Speaker 3: five called The Basic Bitch Book Club. But we'll tell
- 27:12Speaker 3: you more about that later.
- 27:14Speaker 4: Secret We'll put a link in the show notes to
- 27:17Speaker 4: the Instagram so you can chuck and follow and stay
- 27:20Speaker 4: on top of the hot Newgaray, the hard Newer, the
- 27:23Speaker 4: hard newgah. It's very exciting. My last thing on the
- 27:26Speaker 4: hot chick summer checklist is go to an outdoor cinema,
- 27:30Speaker 4: concert or festival.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I really want to do this.
- 27:33Speaker 4: It's honestly the best.
- 27:37Speaker 3: I'm not a festival girlie, but I'm really frothing the
- 27:39Speaker 3: idea of an outdoor cinema, especially Christmas.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Yes, honestly, like get the girls, get some blankies, some snacks,
- 27:49Speaker 4: maybe a.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Bottle of wine, Get the girls some snacks.
- 27:53Speaker 2: God love you.
- 27:54Speaker 4: Also really cute date night or gift idea as well.
- 27:58Speaker 4: And then there are so many door concerts and festivals
- 28:01Speaker 4: happening over the summer all around Australia. It's a really
- 28:05Speaker 4: important time to be supporting local artists and music. And
- 28:08Speaker 4: also you're just gonna have the best fucking time with
- 28:10Speaker 4: your mates, even if it's just a one day festival,
- 28:12Speaker 4: if you're not like a huge festival girly, there are
- 28:15Speaker 4: so many that are even just like in the cities
- 28:18Speaker 4: around Australia. Coming up ten out of ten recommend.
- 28:21Speaker 3: On that note, though, one thing that I think I'm
- 28:25Speaker 3: going to say this is my final hot Girl summer checklist,
- 28:27Speaker 3: which is nothing new. They're very very trendy, but it's
- 28:30Speaker 3: going a digital camera. They're actually so affordable if you
- 28:34Speaker 3: literally just go on like eBay, yeah and just grab one.
- 28:38Speaker 3: And I would actually say, don't get one that's super expensive,
- 28:41Speaker 3: because then you don't have to stress about it, like
- 28:43Speaker 3: when you are taking it out and about you know,
- 28:45Speaker 3: it can be like, oh, that was like nine hundred dollars,
- 28:47Speaker 3: Like you don't need to buy the Canon G seven
- 28:49Speaker 3: x PowerShot digital camera for summer, Like just go get
- 28:53Speaker 3: like a vintage one that's going to probably give you
- 28:55Speaker 3: cooler photos anyway, honestly, and like bang that bitch around
- 28:59Speaker 3: this summer. Right, that came out more sexual than I
- 29:03Speaker 3: intended it too. But my partner's dad, he's like a
- 29:08Speaker 3: massive his hobby's cameras, Like he's a massive camera nerd.
- 29:11Speaker 3: And he had this really old like nicorn camera and
- 29:17Speaker 3: he's like, you can have that so good, and I've
- 29:20Speaker 3: been like banging that bitch around. He said, this looks
- 29:25Speaker 3: so like you bang that. He said, this summer, I
- 29:28Speaker 3: want you to bang that bitch around And I said,
- 29:30Speaker 3: stop calling robs at But I am so excited for summer.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I remember when we were doing the Hot Girl Winter
- 29:42Speaker 3: Checklist episode and I was like.
- 29:44Speaker 1: It's dead dead.
- 29:46Speaker 3: I don't want to be Sarah and I was so
- 29:49Speaker 3: excited and he and I'm ready. And you know what,
- 29:53Speaker 3: it feels like Christmas, bitch, it's feeling it's beginning to
- 29:57Speaker 3: look a lot like Chris mat.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:01Speaker 3: So I'm excited. It smells like summer, it feels like summer.
- 30:06Speaker 3: It's starting to feel like Christmas. The days are longer,
- 30:10Speaker 3: you can go for a spool after work. I'm just like,
- 30:12Speaker 3: let's go. Where are the prawns, where's the icy rose?
- 30:16Speaker 3: I want my fingers to smell like shellfish, and I
- 30:19Speaker 3: want my hair to be salty, and I want to
- 30:22Speaker 3: like taste like sunscreen. That's what I want.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Get me a frosty fruit.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Stat well, that's a wrap. Chicks and well, happy fucking sour,
- 30:34Speaker 3: happy thumb, happy thummy baby girls from Missus darbith And.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Next week is going to be our last week of
- 30:42Speaker 3: the podcast for twenty twenty five.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Twenty twenty four, fuck.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Twenty twenty four. It's happening already. It's happening already. I'm like,
- 30:49Speaker 3: what year is it dying?
- 30:51Speaker 4: But yeah, it's gonna be our last two episodes of
- 30:54Speaker 4: the whole year, So easy tune in, Yeah, don't want
- 30:57Speaker 4: to miss it.
- 30:57Speaker 3: We're gonna be doing worst Investments of twenty twenty four
- 31:01Speaker 3: and twenty four Lessons from twenty twenty four, which is
- 31:05Speaker 3: always an absolute doozy with laughs, tears, and maybe some bonus.
- 31:13Speaker 4: And on that note, thanks to your chicks for having
- 31:15Speaker 4: a CD ear Holes, We love to be here. Thanks
- 31:19Speaker 4: to you, m Ika Made for making today's episode happen
- 31:21Speaker 4: by chicking bye,
