Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast.
- 0:12Speaker 2: This week on Joe Gabble Gable. If a man twenty
- 0:15Speaker 2: years older than you with a foot fetish buys you
- 0:17Speaker 2: an engagement ring, do you have to pay him the
- 0:19Speaker 2: money back?
- 0:20Speaker 1: Judge Matthis might need to go to jail with him.
- 0:23Speaker 3: And if you volunteer to be a part of a
- 0:25Speaker 3: documentary where you don't eat anything for thirty days and
- 0:28Speaker 3: you start acting like a lunatic.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Can you sue somebody for defamation? Judge Glory Lake tells
- 0:34Speaker 1: us real people in real cases, Thank justice.
- 0:36Speaker 2: This is.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Ah Hi.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Everybody wanted another episode of Yo gabble Gable. It is
- 0:46Speaker 3: great to be here today in the chamber. It's a
- 0:48Speaker 3: very simple program. I watched a TV courtroom show. I'm
- 0:51Speaker 3: gonna tell Dan about it. He's gonna try to guess
- 0:53Speaker 3: the verdict and then we're gonna do the same thing
- 0:54Speaker 3: but flip it. In Reversee, we did the same thing
- 0:58Speaker 3: every single week and.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Every single week and people love it.
- 1:01Speaker 3: If you like this episode and this is your first one,
- 1:03Speaker 3: you have so many to go back and listen to,
- 1:06Speaker 3: so many good cases, and we think that you should
- 1:09Speaker 3: do that because I mean, for our money, it's a
- 1:12Speaker 3: real good time.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it is a real good time.
- 1:14Speaker 2: And also we get reviews like this one from k
- 1:16Speaker 2: Twulu thirty four, who says, I like Gabbls. That's the
- 1:20Speaker 2: title of the RULs and the review it sounds I
- 1:23Speaker 2: really like gabbls. That's the whole review, and it's wonderful
- 1:28Speaker 2: because it's five Well that's two gavels, and you know
- 1:30Speaker 2: gabble double gabbl situation.
- 1:32Speaker 1: That's Gavils. Yeah, it's like I like turtles. Yeah, I
- 1:35Speaker 1: like gavel.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I like gavels. Yours sounds gross. It's so gross. So
- 1:42Speaker 3: is it better to start with it or end with it?
- 1:44Speaker 2: I mean, I think we should probably start with it,
- 1:47Speaker 2: because I gotta be honest. I might never watch Judge
- 1:51Speaker 2: Mathis again. Oh no, I will tell you the only caveat.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I've been a loyal viewer, even though I disagree with
- 1:58Speaker 2: him ninety percent of this time, because it's readily available
- 2:03Speaker 2: on YouTube, it's in good quality, and he's funny.
- 2:07Speaker 1: That's why. Those are the reasons. Big three.
- 2:09Speaker 2: That's exactly right, the Big three entertainment. But this might
- 2:14Speaker 2: be it for me, It might be it. I'll tell
- 2:16Speaker 2: you the only reason why I want we'll be at
- 2:17Speaker 2: the very end. Richard Chapman is suing former fiance Lisa
- 2:23Speaker 2: Volnallman Vunnelman. I don't know. We'll just call her Lisa
- 2:27Speaker 2: for five hundred dollars for the cost of an engagement rink. Okay,
- 2:30Speaker 2: how much? Five hundred bucks. Richard walks into the courtroom
- 2:34Speaker 2: with his black dress shirt on, button down, top, button,
- 2:38Speaker 2: two buttons unbuttoned, two gold chains, one giant gold cross necklace,
- 2:43Speaker 2: flat top, military haircut. You know this guy. I love
- 2:48Speaker 2: this guy. You don't you know him? Though you know
- 2:51Speaker 2: him though. Richard says, to start off with first, I'd
- 2:54Speaker 2: like to say your honor that I watch your show
- 2:57Speaker 2: every day at four pm, and I'm impressed with your
- 3:00Speaker 2: witty wisdom.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Wow sucking up early. But it's also Judge.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Judy on at four o'clock as well, so I have
- 3:06Speaker 2: to flip back and forth. And the only reason I
- 3:08Speaker 2: do that is that she's prettier than you. That's how
- 3:12Speaker 2: Richard starts and matthis loves it. He raves about Judge
- 3:16Speaker 2: Judy much love Judge we do, how much money she
- 3:21Speaker 2: has and all that stuff. I appreciate Judy more than
- 3:24Speaker 2: I like Judy.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I don't either think, but uh, she's a self made
- 3:29Speaker 1: I don't want to hear it. I don't want to
- 3:31Speaker 1: hear it. I don't want to do this. We're not
- 3:32Speaker 1: I'm not doing it.
- 3:33Speaker 2: She's you know, the hardy money mongol is to build
- 3:40Speaker 2: an empire.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Stop as a woman. Stop it. Do you know how
- 3:43Speaker 1: hard it is?
- 3:43Speaker 2: Stop it? Stop it? Read about Judge Judy. One just
- 3:46Speaker 2: read one book, one one page. I read the page,
- 3:49Speaker 2: and she did it. It gets worse for Richard. Richard says,
- 3:54Speaker 2: which I'll maybe maybe called Dick the rest of the way,
- 3:56Speaker 2: who knows.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Uh.
- 3:57Speaker 2: He says, I'd like to ask Judge Judy to dinner
- 4:00Speaker 2: so I could see her point at her forehead and say,
- 4:01Speaker 2: do you see stupid on my forehead?
- 4:03Speaker 1: That's something she does, a classic Judge judo.
- 4:06Speaker 2: And then Matths is like, thanks for watching, but obviously
- 4:09Speaker 2: you're not gonna get anything but fair Trump and he
- 4:11Speaker 2: gotta be honest. It was a lot of Judy talk
- 4:12Speaker 2: on this, just a lot of Judy talk. Old Dick says,
- 4:15Speaker 2: I met Lisa at church. We really hit it off.
- 4:17Speaker 2: We dated for about four weeks. I found out she
- 4:19Speaker 2: was twenty three years younger than me, and I thought, hot,
- 4:22Speaker 2: diggity dog, I've hit the jackpod.
- 4:25Speaker 1: How much younger?
- 4:26Speaker 2: Twenty three years she's forty six, he's sixty nine. WHOA,
- 4:31Speaker 2: this case was fifteen years old, so we can only
- 4:33Speaker 2: hope that Dick is dead. So four weeks in, I said,
- 4:39Speaker 2: let's go to the jewelry store and pick out a rink.
- 4:41Speaker 2: We went to the jewelry store. She picked out a ring.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It was eight or nine hundred dollars, and I started
- 4:46Speaker 2: negotiating with the jeweler in front of her. In front
- 4:48Speaker 2: of her, I'm sure it made her feel so good,
- 4:51Speaker 2: and I got the thing down to five hundred dollars.
- 4:52Speaker 2: And I was really very happy that my fiance was
- 4:54Speaker 2: very frugal in selecting that ring. She could have picked
- 4:56Speaker 2: out a two or three thousand dollars ring. We talked
- 4:58Speaker 2: about a wedding date in the fall. A few days later,
- 5:01Speaker 2: Lisa said, let's do the first of the year, so
- 5:02Speaker 2: we picked January tenth. That's my birthday, Happy birthday, Bay,
- 5:07Speaker 2: it's my birthday.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Is my birthday? My birthday? Huh?
- 5:12Speaker 2: So Lisa says, we did meet at church, and I
- 5:14Speaker 2: initially thought he was a god fearing man. But it
- 5:16Speaker 2: turned out he was a freak. She trails off when
- 5:19Speaker 2: she says freak. She doesn't say it with competest. She's like,
- 5:22Speaker 2: it turns out he was a freek. She's very southern. No,
- 5:24Speaker 2: he was a freak, and matthis goes what now, and
- 5:27Speaker 2: then Lisa says, well, he did some things that made
- 5:29Speaker 2: me very uncomfortable. We would go shopping and he would
- 5:31Speaker 2: buy me some things, and that would suggest sexual favors
- 5:35Speaker 2: for the things that he bought her at the mall.
- 5:39Speaker 2: We would be at church and he would buy me
- 5:43Speaker 2: shoes to wear to church, and then he would rub
- 5:46Speaker 2: my feet during church and suggest what he'd like to
- 5:50Speaker 2: see me do later in those shoes during church. During
- 5:55Speaker 2: durn during at this point, we cut to Dick during
- 5:59Speaker 2: Rumor's Right, during.
- 6:00Speaker 1: The Romans rouge.
- 6:01Speaker 2: At this point, we cut to Dick, who once again
- 6:03Speaker 2: we can only hope he's dead, and he is staring
- 6:07Speaker 2: at the camera with his mouth, clothes and a glint
- 6:11Speaker 2: in his eye, and he's nodding like, hell, that's what
- 6:15Speaker 2: he's doing. Yes, she's explaining what made her uncomfortable, and
- 6:19Speaker 2: he is like, that's right, Yeah, that's what he's doing.
- 6:23Speaker 2: That's who this guy is. That's who he is. Lisa says,
- 6:28Speaker 2: we were in the pews in church when he did this.
- 6:30Speaker 2: He went as far look further in our relationship where
- 6:35Speaker 2: he asked a woman he bowls with what type of
- 6:38Speaker 2: bra she wears because he wanted that look for me.
- 6:46Speaker 1: So that was upsetting. And once again, this case sixteen
- 6:50Speaker 1: years old.
- 6:50Speaker 2: We can only hope Dick's dead. Uh Matthis says, did
- 6:54Speaker 2: you do all this? And Dick says, yes, sir, I did.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I did all of it without even missing a yeah.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Uh matthis says, at least you're honest. Lisa says it
- 7:03Speaker 2: got further and furthermore and more uncomfortable, and Mathis goes,
- 7:06Speaker 2: but you stuck around for all this, and she says,
- 7:09Speaker 2: not as long as he said I did. I went
- 7:11Speaker 2: to my daughter's house for my grandson's birthday. He kept
- 7:14Speaker 2: calling the house asking where I was. This case gets worse.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Can I ask a quick question, just letting you know
- 7:19Speaker 2: right now? Yeah, for all those in the room involved
- 7:22Speaker 2: who think this is kind of the bottom of the barrel,
- 7:24Speaker 2: it's gonna get worse.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I'm letting you all know it's gonna get worse. Can
- 7:28Speaker 1: I ask you a quol question.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I would love they they got engaged relatively early in
- 7:31Speaker 3: this relationship. Yeah, I mean he's sixty nine years old. Yeah,
- 7:33Speaker 3: you gotta get to it, get stepping. Did he do
- 7:37Speaker 3: you know if his behavior changed post engagement?
- 7:42Speaker 1: Was he like she says, I thought he was a
- 7:44Speaker 1: godfaring man.
- 7:45Speaker 2: And then the way that this is said at least
- 7:49Speaker 2: is that the first two or three weeks seem normal
- 7:52Speaker 2: and this is never said out loud, first two or
- 7:55Speaker 2: three weeks seem normal, and then after the engagement ring,
- 7:58Speaker 2: it's when the stuff about like it sounded like she
- 8:02Speaker 2: didn't put a timeline together, but it sounds like, hey,
- 8:04Speaker 2: he would buy me some stuff at the mall and
- 8:06Speaker 2: then kind of like say what he wanted me to do,
- 8:08Speaker 2: and it was like, that's all right, that's just I
- 8:11Speaker 2: think she just kind of, you know, you want to
- 8:13Speaker 2: hope for the best, and you probably write that off
- 8:15Speaker 2: and then things escalate as they clearly, like clearly what
- 8:19Speaker 2: I've just said everything, all of these things are absolutely
- 8:23Speaker 2: abominable and you know, rotten hell diic, but they get worse,
- 8:27Speaker 2: like you know what like buying someone something at the
- 8:30Speaker 2: mall and suggesting what you would like in return, real
- 8:33Speaker 2: bad then foot things and then what was going up
- 8:37Speaker 2: to women and being like, hey, I want my wife
- 8:39Speaker 2: to wear that same my fiance wear the same. Bro Like,
- 8:42Speaker 2: this is all really terrible, right, it just is really bad.
- 8:46Speaker 2: So she said that I just lost my place. Oh yeah,
- 8:51Speaker 2: I went to my daughter's house for my grandson's birthday.
- 8:54Speaker 2: He kept calling the house asking where I was. We
- 8:57Speaker 2: obviously whoever answered just was like, she's here. Which if
- 9:01Speaker 2: he's calling the house asking where she is and she's like,
- 9:04Speaker 2: I'm here, I think that pretty much solved it. I
- 9:05Speaker 2: don't know why he keeps calling, that's weird. I was
- 9:08Speaker 2: so angry at this guy, and Judge mathis that I
- 9:09Speaker 2: really have time for this. Uh, when I got back home,
- 9:12Speaker 2: he was there waiting on me, and then he started
- 9:15Speaker 2: sniffing around.
- 9:16Speaker 3: She's like, specifically mad about the broth thing. Is that
- 9:19Speaker 3: what she No, she just is at her grandson's birthday
- 9:23Speaker 3: and she's so then she says this exactly.
- 9:28Speaker 2: When I got back home, he's there and start sniffing
- 9:33Speaker 2: around and says he didn't want me giving his loving away.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And then matthis asked this question once again, I don't
- 9:42Speaker 2: the gabble is the gavel is the gabble. This is
- 9:44Speaker 2: what we do in this program.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Uh.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Now, when you say the man was sniffing around, do
- 9:48Speaker 2: you mean literally or figuratively? And then she says literally
- 10:01Speaker 2: looking for your scent sense she was. She said literally
- 10:05Speaker 2: he was sniffing my shoulders and my neck. Wow, and
- 10:09Speaker 2: said he didn't want me giving his loving away.
- 10:11Speaker 1: You know what, Yeah, I guess a good question.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Mathis at this point takes the side of Richard in
- 10:18Speaker 2: a stunning turn of events, saying, Hey, I think there
- 10:21Speaker 2: are women out there that would like this stuff. He's
- 10:23Speaker 2: buying you things and he's you know, you know, sniffing
- 10:27Speaker 2: around your neck. That's We've heard worse in this courtroom.
- 10:31Speaker 2: And she repeats again, well it was. It was very uncomfortable. Uh,
- 10:38Speaker 2: he was doing unchristian things, and I was done with him.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Even if there are women that are into that thing,
- 10:44Speaker 3: it doesn't mean that.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, she's wrong for it. I understand this was two
- 10:48Speaker 2: thousand and nine when this court case happened. I don't
- 10:51Speaker 2: really care what year it is.
- 10:53Speaker 1: It's bad.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Yeah, she Mathis is like, what unchristian things are you
- 10:58Speaker 2: talking about? And she's like, well, you don't. She said this,
- 11:00Speaker 2: and it sounds like it's straight out of the Righteous Gemstones,
- 11:02Speaker 2: and that it did make me laugh even though I
- 11:04Speaker 2: was feeling terrible for her. She said, you don't do
- 11:07Speaker 2: sexual advances in church. You listen to your pastor. And
- 11:11Speaker 2: Math is like, that's true, that's you're right, You're right
- 11:14Speaker 2: about that one, and she goes he made me very uncomfortable.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I told him at that point to stop coming by
- 11:18Speaker 2: my house or calling. And after that he went on
- 11:20Speaker 2: a trip to Texas. He contacted me. When I got
- 11:23Speaker 2: he got back, I told him, please don't call, Please,
- 11:25Speaker 2: don't come back. Richard says, you're on her. After we'd
- 11:28Speaker 2: set the date for our marriage. You need to know
- 11:30Speaker 2: that I talked to her about a prenup because I've
- 11:32Speaker 2: been burned in the past by several.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Of my wives. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 2: At this point, Math is like, man, I got to
- 11:43Speaker 2: take some notes, seriously, like how are you pulling all
- 11:47Speaker 2: these women? That's seriously what matthis is doing? Seriously aout
- 11:53Speaker 2: the case. So I had to do a prenup. And
- 11:57Speaker 2: then he's like, I've been burning the past several times
- 11:59Speaker 2: by my wife. We were gonna go on this Texas
- 12:01Speaker 2: trip together. I was going to see my granddaughter who's
- 12:03Speaker 2: the same age as her daughter. I thought they really
- 12:05Speaker 2: hit it off, and we're gonna go in my big
- 12:07Speaker 2: red f six fifty pickup truck, which I brought a
- 12:11Speaker 2: picture of. He brings a picture for Massis matthis of
- 12:14Speaker 2: his red f six fifty. Yeah, and how did that
- 12:17Speaker 2: change the course of Mathis loved it. He loved the
- 12:23Speaker 2: picture of this dude's f six fifty, which is just
- 12:29Speaker 2: shy of a mack truck. Like you, there's no reason
- 12:32Speaker 2: you need this truck.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Did she like it?
- 12:34Speaker 2: No?
- 12:35Speaker 1: God, no, I had you.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Remember, Mike is f one fifty right, six fifty is
- 12:40Speaker 2: a big boy. That's like something that you use for
- 12:43Speaker 2: like commercial hauling. It's a medium duty truck. Like it's
- 12:47Speaker 2: just on this side of mack truck. I'm gonna god,
- 12:50Speaker 2: uh so uh matthis is is doing a bit with
- 12:54Speaker 2: his his white male bailiff about like look at this truck,
- 12:58Speaker 2: look at blah blah blah. Richard says she was unable
- 13:01Speaker 2: to go on the trip, and I called her when
- 13:03Speaker 2: I got home.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I couldn't get a hold of her. Yes, that's a
- 13:06Speaker 1: big truck.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Yes, Uh it's stupid. That's a full compensation truck. That
- 13:12Speaker 2: is all that is.
- 13:13Speaker 1: We go.
- 13:14Speaker 3: That's good stuff right there. You can see that clearly. Yeah, so, uh,
- 13:18Speaker 3: Richard's like I got back. I called her, couldn't get
- 13:20Speaker 3: a holder, and I went over to her house. I knocked
- 13:21Speaker 3: on the door, nobody answered. I went home. When I
- 13:23Speaker 3: got home, I had a voicemail from her saying we
- 13:27Speaker 3: were over. I brought the voicemail in.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Here's the thing about Mathis that really makes as tough
- 13:32Speaker 2: as some court cases we go to. It's clearly actors.
- 13:36Speaker 2: This is Mathis doesn't do actors. That's another reason I
- 13:39Speaker 2: liked the show. They're all real people. We play the voicemail.
- 13:42Speaker 1: It is her.
- 13:43Speaker 2: It couldn't be more Hey, I heard you got back
- 13:47Speaker 2: in town. I told you before you left. I'm telling
- 13:49Speaker 2: you again. Please don't call me, Please don't come by.
- 13:51Speaker 1: We are done. It is over.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Goodbye, Like literally, couldn't be more direct. Did she give
- 13:56Speaker 2: the ring back?
- 13:57Speaker 1: No?
- 13:57Speaker 2: Okay, no, matthis says, why'd you do that? Why'd you
- 14:02Speaker 2: send him that voicemail which is just efing crazy? Uh?
- 14:06Speaker 1: She says, well, he made me uncomfortable. I didn't want to.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I didn't want to marry him. Matthis says, it sounds
- 14:12Speaker 2: like his behavior has pretty been pretty consistent throughout your relationship.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Once again, if you we can only hope that Dick
- 14:19Speaker 2: is dead.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Uh.
- 14:21Speaker 2: And then he asked for a copy of the receipt
- 14:24Speaker 2: of the ring, which Richard provides. And then he goes, oh,
- 14:27Speaker 2: it's the prenup. After you ask for the prenup, you
- 14:31Speaker 2: broke up with him.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Uh.
- 14:34Speaker 2: And and here's the one thing I will say, and
- 14:39Speaker 2: this is there's no defense for any of this being
- 14:42Speaker 2: true or real. She is not only in a generally
- 14:45Speaker 2: good demeanor for all of this. She laughs when he
- 14:49Speaker 2: mentions the prenup. Now, I'm not saying I'm not saying
- 14:53Speaker 2: it's a bit. This could be a bit. They could
- 14:56Speaker 2: have wrote these two people in for this. I think
- 14:58Speaker 2: it's a really dark, dark bit if it's a bit.
- 15:01Speaker 2: But she is not portraying herself in a way where
- 15:05Speaker 2: she's upset about this. She's portraying herself in a way
- 15:07Speaker 2: where it's funny. That's how she's portraying herself. Now, her
- 15:10Speaker 2: words matter way more than that. And it's clearly awful,
- 15:14Speaker 2: and this guy should be thrown in jail and Mathis
- 15:16Speaker 2: should be thrown in jail alongside of him. But when
- 15:18Speaker 2: he mentioned the prenup, she basically she doesn't admit it
- 15:22Speaker 2: with her words, but she basically kind of like with
- 15:24Speaker 2: her body language and laughing, kind of does not deny
- 15:29Speaker 2: that that did change the thing.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Okay, but that is.
- 15:33Speaker 2: One little small thing versus a preponderance of evidence that
- 15:37Speaker 2: would suggest that this guy is the worst human being alive. Yeah,
- 15:40Speaker 2: math is ready to rule. So what is all the
- 15:45Speaker 2: money for five hundred dollars for the wedding ring that
- 15:48Speaker 2: she he purchased her? She we don't know what happened
- 15:50Speaker 2: to it. She's not giving it back. He wants five hundred.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Dollars, Okay him, I mean, I guess give him the
- 15:56Speaker 3: ring back, yeah, or the money.
- 16:00Speaker 2: We do know based on doing the show that it
- 16:02Speaker 2: is the engagement ring is the only gift you are
- 16:05Speaker 2: required to return, right, And so I knew before we
- 16:08Speaker 2: started Mathis was going to rule in favor of the
- 16:10Speaker 2: PLANEFF and give them five hundred dollars. That didn't make
- 16:12Speaker 2: me any less angry when he did it, sure, but
- 16:16Speaker 2: I knew that was coming. I do think every you know,
- 16:19Speaker 2: maybe a really just justice would throw it out. I
- 16:23Speaker 2: think most judges, but most judges that we watch, would
- 16:26Speaker 2: give them the five hundred dollars. And I know that
- 16:28Speaker 2: because it's an engagement ring and that's the one gift
- 16:30Speaker 2: you're required to give back. I know that this still
- 16:32Speaker 2: was the most infuriating case I think I've ever watched
- 16:37Speaker 2: for this particular program.
- 16:39Speaker 1: It was. It was unbelievable.
- 16:41Speaker 3: You imagine going to church and seeing somebody give them
- 16:43Speaker 3: somebody a foot rope and talk like, yeah, I'm sure
- 16:47Speaker 3: he was whispering the dirty stuff. But they say that
- 16:49Speaker 3: if you're on the road behind him, like you can
- 16:51Speaker 3: probably see something's going on that you don't want to
- 16:54Speaker 3: be able to look over, and there's a foot massage
- 16:56Speaker 3: going on and pew number two.
- 16:59Speaker 2: But all of this stuff is just so ridiculous, Like
- 17:01Speaker 2: it is, like, so we've reached ridiculous with like he's
- 17:06Speaker 2: just like, I mean, God, I hope, I do hope.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Sixteen years later, it's less comfortable for men out there
- 17:11Speaker 2: than it was in two thousand and nine. I don't
- 17:13Speaker 2: know if it is, but I hope it is, because
- 17:16Speaker 2: this guy's just like, yeah, I'm seventy, what are you
- 17:18Speaker 2: gonna do?
- 17:18Speaker 1: I'm rich?
- 17:18Speaker 2: And I'm seventy and hell yeah, man, I like to
- 17:21Speaker 2: give the old church foot massage.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yeah I did.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I asked this woman about her bra If you bet it.
- 17:27Speaker 2: It's brutal tough out there. Let's head over to Lauren Lake. Okay,
- 17:34Speaker 2: Lauren Lake would have maybe castrated this individual.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Another.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Self made female judge. Yeah, now this female judge. I'm
- 17:43Speaker 3: here for we the people.
- 17:45Speaker 1: With Lauren Lake.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Lily Larson is suing Iris Lucy. I thought, was I
- 17:50Speaker 3: love Lucy? But it's Iris Lucy Iris Loy Iris. I
- 17:55Speaker 3: like the flower or the song or the eye part. Yeah,
- 17:59Speaker 3: I thought you said Irish Lucy. And now that's a
- 18:02Speaker 3: weird way to go into courtroom. They call me irish,
- 18:04Speaker 3: they call me Irish. No Iris six thousand, five hundred
- 18:08Speaker 3: dollars for deathamation of sixty five hund Lily met Iris
- 18:14Speaker 3: through a documentary that Iris was making about water fasting.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You know about water fasting? Is it where you fast
- 18:22Speaker 1: and only drink water?
- 18:23Speaker 3: Yes, for an extended amount of time. Yeah, I don't
- 18:26Speaker 3: know about that. Never done it, Lily would. Basically, she
- 18:32Speaker 3: wanted to make a documentary showing what water fasting for
- 18:35Speaker 3: thirty days can do to somebody, the Good and the Bat.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Kevin James talked about this on a podcast. Really were
- 18:40Speaker 2: for forty straight days to lose a bunch of weight.
- 18:43Speaker 2: He just had water with a little bit of salt
- 18:44Speaker 2: in it. Yeah, for forty days. Yeah, how'd that go
- 18:47Speaker 2: for him? He lost a bunch of weight. I mean,
- 18:48Speaker 2: get you right back, but he lost you know, he
- 18:50Speaker 2: lost it.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Iris says that water fasting is a trend, and I
- 18:53Speaker 3: wanted to explore the health benefits that would come with
- 18:56Speaker 3: doing a water fast. There are twelve people total that
- 19:00Speaker 3: would spend a month in a house in Malibu together.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Lily says, it's not that nice of a house in Malibu, okay,
- 19:08Speaker 3: And we had to stay with the crew, and they
- 19:11Speaker 3: would just taunt us with food.
- 19:13Speaker 1: They would eat their meals in front of us. That's tough.
- 19:16Speaker 1: That's tough, Iris says.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I am past sixteen hours a day, and it's tough
- 19:21Speaker 2: if you were to do that to me at ten
- 19:23Speaker 2: thirty in the morning.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Iris says, I didn't find it necessary, nor did we
- 19:27Speaker 3: have the room to ask the crew to go somewhere
- 19:29Speaker 3: else to eat their food. But also part of the
- 19:32Speaker 3: experiment was seeing how they would respond to different things
- 19:34Speaker 3: while fasting some of that yes, was, I'm sure they did.
- 19:39Speaker 1: We don't get that.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Lily says that Iris was a struggling actor at the time,
- 19:45Speaker 3: came to her to be a part of this documentary
- 19:47Speaker 3: and I gave her an opportunity. Lily says that I
- 19:49Speaker 3: did this project because during the pandemic, I gained fifty pounds,
- 19:53Speaker 3: so I heard about this idea I could lose weight,
- 19:56Speaker 3: I could gain some mental clarity, etc. And Judge says,
- 20:00Speaker 3: so this wasn't about acting. This wasn't about getting some
- 20:02Speaker 3: sort of acting gig, and she says, no, it wasn't.
- 20:04Speaker 3: It was about gaining clarity. Judge says, well, there's I
- 20:07Speaker 3: gotta be honest with you. There's a lot of ways
- 20:09Speaker 3: that you could gain mental clarity that doesn't involve having
- 20:11Speaker 3: a camera in your face while you're not eating for
- 20:13Speaker 3: thirty days. And Lily says, yes, but this was supposed
- 20:17Speaker 3: to be a documentary, not a reality show. It was
- 20:20Speaker 3: I thought it was gonna show the whole picture of me,
- 20:22Speaker 3: and instead it just showed one part of me, which
- 20:25Speaker 3: was me being a monster. So she's mad that a
- 20:29Speaker 3: reality show depicted her in a negative documentary you're not
- 20:32Speaker 3: getting any money, so what so what is it about
- 20:36Speaker 3: the way that you were portrayed that upsets you? She judges, like,
- 20:41Speaker 3: you didn't eat for thirty days. Of course you're gonna
- 20:44Speaker 3: have some bad bum You gonna do some bad moms.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Lily says, well, they didn't show any of the first
- 20:49Speaker 3: half of the month where I was happy, where I
- 20:51Speaker 3: really felt like I was at peace and gaining mental clarity.
- 20:54Speaker 3: They didn't show any of that. All they showed was
- 20:57Speaker 3: me crying, getting angry, throwing grills in the pool because
- 21:00Speaker 3: the crew was taunting me. Iris says, I believe that
- 21:05Speaker 3: we did show the whole picture of Lily. She immediately
- 21:09Speaker 3: turned dramatic when the camera turned on. She has that
- 21:12Speaker 3: way the entire time. She was crying within a day
- 21:15Speaker 3: the of this experiment, and I told the crew. I
- 21:18Speaker 3: told them that the crew would be eating in front
- 21:20Speaker 3: of them ahead of time. She could have wow. Iris
- 21:23Speaker 3: said she could have taken her food somewhere else. Judge
- 21:26Speaker 3: says she didn't have any food. Iris is like, you're right.
- 21:29Speaker 3: I meant she could have taken herself away from the food.
- 21:33Speaker 3: But that was a funny thing where she said she
- 21:34Speaker 3: could take her food, and that's kind of the whole
- 21:36Speaker 3: point of the things.
- 21:37Speaker 1: She didn't have any food.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Instead, though, instead of taking herself away, she threw the
- 21:41Speaker 3: grill in the pool. We are not going to get
- 21:44Speaker 3: a whole lot about the grill in the pool. I
- 21:46Speaker 3: hate that, but they mentioned it a few times and
- 21:49Speaker 3: then like, don't really give me the depending on the.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Size of the grill. That's a herculean effort there, Dan.
- 21:54Speaker 3: It was all I know about this is she threw
- 21:56Speaker 3: a grill in the pool while it had was grilling food.
- 21:59Speaker 2: So they was using a grill to grill fresh food
- 22:02Speaker 2: for the crew. Yeah, so you're smelling the grill. Yeah,
- 22:05Speaker 2: they bring them in like a bag lunch. You're doing
- 22:08Speaker 2: a water faster.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Cruse working on the grills. But I don't know how
- 22:13Speaker 3: to show mean, she could have gotten burned. Uh, she
- 22:16Speaker 3: could have gotten burned. So why does iris o Lily
- 22:21Speaker 3: sixty five hundred dollars. Lily says she did not show
- 22:26Speaker 3: me in an accurate light. She defamed my character. And
- 22:29Speaker 3: I wasn't the only one who was going crazy, but
- 22:31Speaker 3: I was the only one that they showed going crazy
- 22:34Speaker 3: in the documentary. Everybody else is all zen zen zend
- 22:38Speaker 3: you having peace, like feeling good about themselves and I'm
- 22:42Speaker 3: over that. All they show of me is going crazy,
- 22:44Speaker 3: throwing grill and pool. And then she says, if I'm
- 22:48Speaker 3: the star of this documentary like they want me to be,
- 22:51Speaker 3: why am I not paid a star away?
- 22:53Speaker 1: This is ridiculous? This is ridiculous.
- 22:55Speaker 2: She's right, Yeah, she is. Hey, when you sign up
- 22:58Speaker 2: to be on a documentary, you sign a lot of
- 23:02Speaker 2: paperwork saying that what you do is gonna be filmed.
- 23:07Speaker 2: You can't possibly believe that signing up for a documentary
- 23:12Speaker 2: and doing a fast live on TV and then having
- 23:15Speaker 2: your actions filmed and then getting mad about it is
- 23:19Speaker 2: gonna mean You're right, I like you shouldn't have done it.
- 23:23Speaker 2: But there is nowhere where she gets a dime. Please
- 23:26Speaker 2: tell me she doesn't get any money.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Judge says, someone can't edit you in a light that
- 23:33Speaker 3: you do not show yourself being in. You can't tell
- 23:37Speaker 3: me that you didn't see a camera rolling and turn
- 23:40Speaker 3: it up a little bit so that you would get
- 23:41Speaker 3: more screen time. You want to be an actress, that's
- 23:45Speaker 3: what actresses do. You can't tell me that that wasn't
- 23:48Speaker 3: your motivation. And Lily says, I mean maybe ten to
- 23:52Speaker 3: fifteen twenty percent my motivation ten fifteen twenty percent. Judge says,
- 23:57Speaker 3: you're a good actor, a really bad mass petition.
- 24:00Speaker 1: She did not defame you. No money.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, Lauren Lake gets it. Lauren Lake, everybody,
- 24:07Speaker 2: we did it. Congratulations to us.
- 24:08Speaker 3: This is what I say if I have a vote
- 24:10Speaker 3: in the in this whole thing, I think we should
- 24:12Speaker 3: come back next week. I love that play. Come back
