- 0:20Hey, everyone, welcome to Bless This Messa, the True Crump Podcast.
- 0:23I don't care, here's do says do. Hey. All right, so
- 0:25we're back and this week we were going to Texas and we are in Texas.
- 0:30We are in Texas. We're going to Texas, all things Texas.
- 0:33So anyways, what is going on in our lives? We're recording this late
- 0:42because I got to stay up because Disney Cruise Lines make you open their window,
- 0:47like booking window at midnight Eastern time, so to be able to get
- 0:53my daughter and me into the Royal Tea party. I got to get on
- 0:57there because it's a first time cruiser. We just we just now get to
- 1:00book like seventy five days out. So if you do the math, you'll
- 1:04know where we're going now around the house. Anyways, what else is new?
- 1:11The baby's sick, so that's fun. Yeah, that's about it.
- 1:18It's still dealing with hail damage. Yeah, we're still dealing with that.
- 1:21Roofers put a nail in our gas line. Yeah. So I felt like
- 1:26for several days I was being gas lit as if if you will, no
- 1:30pun intended, because I'd come in and I'd smell just the faintest whiff of
- 1:36natural gas. I'm like, but it was just enough to make you think
- 1:40you're crazy, And then students smell it at all, and so finally I
- 1:45freaked. I freaked out. I was like, all of a sudden one
- 1:48night on Sunday night, I freaked out and I was like, no,
- 1:51we're getting everybody out of this house. I'm certain I smelt it because I
- 1:53don't like dealing with this house is going to blow up. I've never I've
- 1:57never lived in a house with natural gas. Iron stand that people say,
- 2:00you know it cooks better all that stuff. Now you're cooking with gas,
- 2:04as my boss was saying when I were doing about it, like and he's
- 2:06like, but that's where the phrase comes from. I'm give me my electric
- 2:09I don't I don't care. I don't like feeling like my house is gonna
- 2:13explode because a roofer puts a nail through a through a pipe. Anyways,
- 2:20so I panicked. Stu was like, can I take a shower? I
- 2:23was like, no, I know there's natural because he still didn't smell it.
- 2:27It was just me. So then we get the kids out of bed,
- 2:30put him in their stroller because there are of course as sleeps. It's
- 2:32nine thirty at night, babies asleep, get her outside, we go.
- 2:38He I was like, I was six going to go out front, and
- 2:38she's like, well, we can at least go stand on the backyard because
- 2:43it wasn't at a level the house was going to explode, obviously. But
- 2:46the gas guy that came did not make me feel much better. He's like,
- 2:51yeah, I've been working twelve plus hours today and he was getting another
- 2:53call while we were like, he was dealing with ours. He's trying to
- 2:57find the leak, and uh, come to find out, he was somewhat
- 3:01incompetent or very tired from his twelve hour shift, so he didn't actually find
- 3:06the leak. So then the next day I still smelt the gas. I'm
- 3:08like, no, I'm crazy. Now, I need to just let this
- 3:10go. He isolated that he thought it was the fireplace, he isolated it,
- 3:15whatever, But no, I kept thinking it, and then finally I
- 3:17think you finally did smell it, did you. That was the ninth of
- 3:22the game. The atmosky was there? No that you called the gas company
- 3:28the people to repair it. So we called the people to repair it.
- 3:31You said you, well, no, he shut the thing down. But
- 3:35I had to call the people to come check the voalves out in the regulators.
- 3:38Okay, so when they came, they said, there's still gas leaking
- 3:40in your house. They said it wasn't at the two places that they that
- 3:46we thought it was. Okay, that's what I'm saying. But you,
- 3:49I thought you said you smelt it after the guy came and the gas guy
- 3:52came, I thought you said you okay, whatever, stew finally smelt it
- 3:58because you dealt it. I knew that was con because he's freaking five.
- 4:02Oh shut up, Stuart, that is not even true. What is wrong
- 4:05with you? Somebody might believe it anyways. No, the baby has been
- 4:12very stinky. She's got she's got problems. Anyways, So the guys came
- 4:19to fix the repair of the line and they're like, well, it's still
- 4:23leaking gas. To say, finally figured it out. It was not coming
- 4:25from the fireplace. We have a pool and it has a heater, and
- 4:28so when the guys put the roof on, they shot a nail through the
- 4:32line and it was just leaking up in the attic. I'm guessing that gas
- 4:36line is probably not code and the way they ran it out there. So
- 4:42well anyway, so after the people that repair the gas line came and looked
- 4:46at it, did a pressure test, and then spent three hours here at
- 4:50one hundred and fifty dollars an hour. They proceeded to tell us what was
- 4:55wrong, and then now we have to have the roofing company come and fix
- 4:58it because it was their fault. So we've been dealing with that. We
- 5:02had our air conditioner drained back up, and then our ceilings like falling apart.
- 5:08Note to self, don't ever get a dr Horton house again, and
- 5:12then what else I want to Sam, don't get Samsung appliances. TV's are
- 5:21fine. Yeah, So anyways, so that's what we've been dealing with.
- 5:26I have been more active. I've been trying to be more active on the
- 5:29Instagram. I'm trying to get my life together, so I figured i'd just
- 5:32share it all with you guys. Maybe I'll do better if I if I'm
- 5:35like recording getting sharing it. So I've been trying to like mail prep and
- 5:41work out and get my house organized. Because what happens is is that you
- 5:47have all these things you want to do, like record a podcast, but
- 5:50we're not organized to get our house clean and do all the things we need
- 5:55to do. So because we have three children, like before, we could
- 5:58just wing it. I mean we weren't that great it then anyways, but
- 6:00we were better. But for me, you have any children, you just
- 6:02kind of wing it and you just figure it out. Like nobody's like destroying
- 6:05your house while you're cleaning it when you have no children. But then you
- 6:09have children, and We've had three in less than four years. So I've
- 6:15got to do I've got to get like on a system and get better at
- 6:18mill prepping and doing things like that. So I'm sharing it all on Instagram,
- 6:26so if you want, there'll still be some true crime stuff like the
- 6:29video of my daughter want to kill something with her fake knife. That'll be
- 6:35that stuff as well, like podcast stuff. But I'm also going to be
- 6:39sharing more of my recipes and everything like that. And then yeah, so
- 6:45the baby's crying, so we're gonna go tend to her and we'll be right
- 6:48back anyways, back to the whole thing. So yeah, go check out
- 6:51the follow the Instagram and you can see me, see me try to get
- 6:57my life together. It's not having I did really good today. I meal
- 7:04prepped, so much stuff and it's all healthy. We had a Caesar salad
- 7:08with chicken that I mill prepped. H Stewart. Yeah, I know.
- 7:14Well that was kind of like a lunch though. That was a lunch.
- 7:15So anyways, all right, Well with that said, let's get into this
- 7:24week's case Stuka. Are you ready. Oh, we have Patreon. Don't
- 7:29forget the Patreon you patreon get We appreciate everybody. You get this twenty four
- 7:33hours ahead and it's ad free. And then yeah, Instagram, buy me
- 7:39a coffee. Facebook, you know, reviews. We've got up to seven
- 7:43hundred reviews. That's like pretty good. Go to Apple podcast. You can
- 7:46really help us out by yeah, five stars only we're not yeah, I
- 7:51mean we'll read the one stars. I mean no, but just five stars.
- 7:56You can write, well, do five stars, then write something negative.
- 7:58That's fine, they're not they're not counting in the negative words. Just
- 8:03like if you if you're on my Instagram, like the podcast Instagram, and
- 8:07you're upset that it's not just all like murder, murder, murder, now,
- 8:09because let's face it, people, there's only so much true crime stuff
- 8:13you can post. Okay, there is a lot of time. Yes,
- 8:16there's pages specifically dedicated to it, but it's a bit of a downer.
- 8:20So I feel like we should just perk up a little bit with like,
- 8:22hey, here's a fun recipe for uh aperol sprits or something I don't know
- 8:28anyways. Yeah, so if you see something on Instagram that you don't like,
- 8:31just no, just like it and then keep scrolling. Give it the
- 8:39old heart first, and then keep scrolling, you know, up like they
- 8:46they can't see I'm telling them anyways. All right, we're moving on from
- 8:50this. If you've been fast forwarding through the podcast, here's your time to
- 8:54stop because we're about to start right now. Robin Spielbauer Nay Blutsoe was born
- 9:03October twenty third, nineteen eighty one, in Altus, Oklahoma, at the
- 9:05Altus Air Force Base, to Steve and Jackie Bletsoe. She had one sister
- 9:09named Brandy. Robin was a military brat. Both of her parents were serving
- 9:15in the military, and so this when they would move frequently, you know,
- 9:18being in especially both of them being in the military, constantly moving.
- 9:22This included going overseas the family would find up in finally end up in North
- 9:26Dakota until nineteen ninety five when Robin moved to Amarillo, Texas. Don't sing,
- 9:33Stewart, you don't want them to sing. No, he started singing
- 9:37when I told him it was in Amarillo. And he doesn't even know who
- 9:39George Strait is. So that's by Garth Brooks. See this is what he
- 9:43does. He does this to intentionally piss me off. He says that George
- 9:48Strait songs are by Garth Brooks, and Garth Brooks songs are by George Strait.
- 9:52Yeah, he did go to a Garth Brooks concert though. So I've
- 9:58been knowing Willie Nelson consent, and I've been to Toby Keith. You went
- 10:01to Garth Brooks because I made you though. Yeah, great concert though everybody
- 10:05knows all the words. I've been to Hank Williams dor You know where we
- 10:09having is the Taylor Swift concert and that's where we're really didn't get to go
- 10:15when we're in San Antonio. Was the Tesla concert? Oh yeah, they
- 10:18were right across the uh the the street from our All you had to do
- 10:22is just take the children of the hotel. I could have gone to Tesla.
- 10:24Yeah, I just take all three children to the hotel by myself and
- 10:28deal with them in the hotel. Actually, it wouldn't have been that bad.
- 10:31We could have room surface, I could have laid in bed and watched
- 10:35TV. It was hot, it was sweaty. We were walking around the
- 10:37world. It was hot, it was very humid. And been done with
- 10:43it. See, I need to need to share it like our travels on
- 10:46Instagram too, stew I don't I forget to share stuff like that, you
- 10:50know. And we saw some cool stuff like tar on the beach. Have
- 10:56we been Have we been on here since we went to South Paudry? I
- 10:58don't. Okay, Well that's never mind. We don't have to go into
- 11:01that, all right. So Robin she moves to Amarillo in nineteen ninety five.
- 11:07She would work at young Blood Stockyard Cafe and would go on to meet
- 11:11j. D. Spilbauer in two thousand and three. Soon after dating,
- 11:15Robin would become pregnant with a daughter, and then they would go on to
- 11:18marry in two thousand and five. They would end up having two daughters,
- 11:22Jaden and Harley. Now, early on there was trouble in the marriage because
- 11:26JD was cheater, cheater pumpkin eater, stew pussy eater more. God,
- 11:33Wow, what did I just say? Nice beaver? Thanks? I just
- 11:37had it stuffed. Why did I just say that? Okay? Uh?
- 11:43He was cheating on Robin like multiple times with multiple women. Bad bad guy.
- 11:48You know. However, Robin was very much in love with JD and
- 11:52she wanted it to work, so she would end up staying with him for
- 11:58a long time with that type of behavior. In total, it was seven
- 12:01years and after multiple affairs, Robin finally had enough now JD. Because part
- 12:07of the reason they explained why she did stay is just because she had seen
- 12:11her parents, like with this family and everything, and that's what she really
- 12:13really wanted, was like a nice family, nice husband, and she got
- 12:18this asshole that's like cheating on her left and right. Yeah, what's doing
- 12:22seven years? Yeah, it's a long time stick, but they had the
- 12:26two kids and stuff. She's just trying to trying to make it work,
- 12:30you know, trying to be the bigger person, and he just kept I'm
- 12:33sure he kept telling her, I'm as to me the last time, baby,
- 12:35I promise I want to fuck no more girl. Anyway, So one
- 12:41of the affairs was with one of Robin's goods friends named Katie Phipps. So
- 12:45this was kind of the last straw, like the last straw, and that's
- 12:50when, because that's when she decided to leave. She was like, Okay,
- 12:52if he's gonna cheat on me with my one of my good friends.
- 12:54And this is a woman that I had told all about my marital problems everything
- 13:00at this and she cheated with my husband. Like this is uh, this
- 13:03is too far baby. She Okay, so we're still not hawked to it
- 13:09face, Okay, I feel that poor girl. I've said some I've said
- 13:13some pretty dumb things when I've been drunk when I was younger, and I
- 13:16can't even imagine it being on people making parodies of it songs. Evidently she's
- 13:22made about sixty five grand in March off of this, so oh well,
- 13:26I mean, but that's still not well. No, she just needs to
- 13:30parlay it into a full time content making career. But I heard she was
- 13:33like a pastor's daughter and stuff. Oh lord, yeah, just like Onloos,
- 13:39nobody puts baby in a corner. Oh it's not the wrong movie a
- 13:45little bit. Yeah, oh Footloose, that's got Kevin Bacon. Okay,
- 13:50we just watched a movie with Kevin Bacon that was terrible. Don't even don't
- 13:54even want that leave the world behind. Don't watch that movie. I was
- 13:56We were so sucked in and it was a fucking and let down. Let
- 14:01me tell you. Yeah, all right left us with blue balls. But
- 14:07you know who didn't have any j D because he was cheating on Robin left
- 14:11and right. So she so she finally she leaves JD takes her two daughters.
- 14:16But shortly after the divorce, j D would go on to I believe
- 14:20he marries Katie the girl, he hows the friend and sort just let it
- 14:26go. I've already said, I've already said enough. You don't need to
- 14:30add to it now, he would. What's the kicker though, is the
- 14:33kick you and the ball spit on your neck fantastic? Which is a friends
- 14:37quote. You wouldn't know that, I would not. He moves into a
- 14:41house just two houses down from where Robin was living with their two girls,
- 14:46like just a big f you you know, amr L is not that small
- 14:50of a town. He could have found another place. Yeah, before he
- 14:54starts to before I start one, Yes, I would just like to make
- 14:58a correction because I think whenever I was talking about the friend's quote, I
- 15:01was talking about balls, and I said, kick you and the balls everybody
- 15:03before you ride into me. I know it's kick you in the crotch,
- 15:05spit on your neck, fantastic. Just just to clarify, I just realized
- 15:13I did that so Rachel would never say balls. She's classier than that.
- 15:18Now I saw her and we are the Miller's and she no, that's e
- 15:24Jennifer Aniston. Rachel would not. She's a classy girl. Okay. Anyway.
- 15:31On April eighth, twenty fourteen, a car was driving along Helium Road.
- 15:35It's a dirt road on the outskirts of Amarillo, and this person came
- 15:39upon a black tahoe on the side of the road. Lying next to the
- 15:43back passenger tire. In the grass was what appeared to be a body.
- 15:48Well, can I just say that it was called Helium Road because apparently like
- 15:52that part like Ambilla, what used to be one of the largest manufacturers of
- 15:56helium helium producer producers. Yeah, I don't know if you manufacture. I
- 16:03know I said the wrong word again, Stewart. Okay, wow, Jesus,
- 16:06it is late. It is Sunday. On a Sunday. I have
- 16:10to go to work in the morning, but Disney waits for no one,
- 16:12So go on, can I now? The driver called nine to one one
- 16:19and the sheriff arrived at the scene and confirmed that it was a body and
- 16:23it was a deceased female. It was clear that the woman had suffered injuries
- 16:27to the back of her head. They found no id, no phone,
- 16:32no wallet, but they were able to run the license plate and they found
- 16:34that the suv belonged to a thirty two year old Robin Spielbauer. They contacted
- 16:41her parents, who sent over pictures to the police, and they, through
- 16:47the pictures of the police, were able to confirm that it was Robin.
- 16:51Yeah, because they still got to confirm because somebody could have stolen her car.
- 16:53Anything could have happened, So even though the car belonged to her,
- 16:56they still had to confirm car jack. Yeah, some other woman, some
- 17:00other woman that got ubducted or something. Yeah. Well, examining the crime
- 17:06scene, they determined that Robin was killed where she was found. She had
- 17:08not been you know, moved from another location or anything like that. Another
- 17:12odd piece of evidence they found were three star like cracks on one of her
- 17:17windows, and these looked similar to if a rock hitcher windshield, if hell
- 17:22hit your windshield, it's just good. Yeah, shattered all four of those
- 17:27windshields, replaced all four of us. We just got to get the Cento
- 17:30replace now. Yeah. Now, the odd part was that there would looked
- 17:36like some like pink paint next to the cracks. So there's these starlight cracks
- 17:40and then there's pink paint, which is very, very strange. They also
- 17:44found a small piece of triangular like shaped plastic on the ground and they collected
- 17:48this as well, and autopsy would later reveal that Robin not only had been
- 17:52beaten on the back of the head, she had also been shot with a
- 17:56twenty two caliber pistol. She had not been sexually assaulted, and it did
- 18:00not appear to be a robbery, despite her not having the ID and the
- 18:06phone and everything. So, I mean, because they left her car there
- 18:07and stuff like, she didn't really have much else of value with her well
- 18:15being shout with the twenty two caliber pistol. First off, if you ever
- 18:18get caught for murdering somebody and you didn't use at least a thirty eight that
- 18:22you're just torturing them, shooting them with they're twenty two, you ought to
- 18:26be well, probably she was beaten too. You ought to be put in
- 18:30a wood chip or feet first, and that's how you should go, because
- 18:33you might as well to shoot somebody with a pellet gun until they're dead and
- 18:37it's just torturous. Oh that's where you were going with that. I wasn't
- 18:41sure you're saying that that shooting someone with a twenty two is just like a
- 18:47terrible thing because they're not going to die right away. No, I mean
- 18:49unless you just hit them in the right spot the first time. Yeah,
- 18:53it's it's like stabbing somebody with a two inch knife instead of a well if
- 18:59you hit the right spot. Yet, if you hit the right spot then
- 19:03anyway talking all right, so yeah we're still anyways. So that's how she
- 19:10That's what the autopsy revealed that someone had actually brought a gun to the murder
- 19:15and she was also shot as well. Because they could only see at the
- 19:18crime scene upon it, they could only see like the blood and like she
- 19:21had been beaten. Police began speaking to friends, family, and they find
- 19:27out quickly that Robin was involved in a love triangle between j D and Katie
- 19:34after the divorce and JD Mary and Katie, the relationship between the three would
- 19:41continue to be volatile, continue between them, continue just to be volatile.
- 19:47There is yes, JD was rumored to still be sleeping with Robin while he
- 19:53was married to Katie. So comes the mistress and everybody. I know what
- 20:02you're thinking right now, You're like, what does old JD look like?
- 20:04Is he look like Brad Pitt or some sort of some sort of you know,
- 20:11model like David Beckham or something crazy to drive the ladies wild or anything
- 20:17that The answer is no, he does not. He is a weasley looking
- 20:22motherfucker. So I'm not really sure what's what the the product is out in
- 20:29Amarillo, but it's if we're basing off JD. It's not great well anyway,
- 20:34but he's apparently knew how to drive the ladies wild so well. Police
- 20:38found out that the tension was hitting up around Thanksgiving him twenty thirteen, when
- 20:44Robin went into JD and Katie's home to get her girls from upstairs, and
- 20:49Katie pulled her hair dragged her down the stairs. The altercation ended when Robin
- 20:56kicked Katie into the fireplace. Man I need like video of this. Finding
- 21:02out this information, police brought Katie in for questioning, and the first question
- 21:07she asked was not about Robin's murder. It was whether or not they knew
- 21:11if her husband JD was for sure sleeping with Robin. She was worried about.
- 21:18Yeah, she was more concerned with the cheating than the death of her
- 21:21former best friend. Police had discovered in the four days leading up to Robin's
- 21:26murder that Katie had become obsessed with the notion that JD might have been sleeping
- 21:30with Robin. Katie had texted JD three three hundred times asking him about the
- 21:37affair. Student Eden, I gave him a drink so or he made himself
- 21:41a drink. So we don't know what's going to happen. Happen people during
- 21:44that time we had to stop recording because you got two drunk. We used
- 21:49to hit it hard back in the day when we recorded this, because this
- 21:52is the only way we could do it. Now half the time we haven't
- 21:55drunk anything when we're recording these and one direck, I'll just put your right
- 21:59in there. Yeah, remember that, you remember that time we got drunk
- 22:02and it was hot in the house because the air conditioner broke because we were
- 22:04doing the Frog episode and then you left town. Yeah, then when you
- 22:10came back, we had to record the rest of it part two. Yeah,
- 22:15that was the Frog episode. I remember being lucky enough to have to
- 22:18go to a training in Houston when the air conditioner went down in the middle
- 22:21of summer, and when I came back it was fixed that day. Ye.
- 22:25Anyways, Yeah, they were there working on it. You got a
- 22:26home and it's like, oh, he's working on Yeah, this is a
- 22:30perfect time. Yeah, that's when we were doing the one from the Austin
- 22:32yogurt shop. There was a frog. There was a tree frog in the
- 22:34house. There was a tree frog. Yeah there was Okay, well to
- 22:37have March with a tree frog okay, well millions of people will buy it,
- 22:41yeah, millions of people. Well tens of hashtag frog life. Yes,
- 22:48Okay, anyway, Katie, we're just going to go back to where
- 22:52Katie texted JD three hundred times about the affair, and police responded to Katie
- 22:59and they told told her that they did not have concrete proof that he was
- 23:03getting with Robin, but they had been told by several people he was sleeping
- 23:08with Robin. He also told her that they were supposed to meet at nine
- 23:12thirty the night Robin was killed. Katie begins crying with the news that JD
- 23:18was cheating. Really, but she had bigger problems because she was the prime
- 23:23suspect for the murder of Robin. Investigators told her that they knew she had
- 23:27a motive to kill Robin and asked her if she had ever threatened to kill
- 23:33her. Katie denied this, but investigators spoke to friends of the women,
- 23:37and they said that they had heard Katie threaten robinho who are the what are
- 23:41these people? I've never like? I guess I'm just not I don't know.
- 23:45I don't understand. How are you going around to your friends and be
- 23:48like, Hey, I'm gonna kill I'm gonna kill Robin. You know.
- 23:52Well maybe they were just arguing. They're like, I'm gonna kill that bitch.
- 23:56Oh yeah, all right, I could kill her. I guess if
- 23:59they're getting in fights the front room and stuff like that, it's the different
- 24:02level they're on than what I've ever been with somebody. Katie begins to tear
- 24:07up during the interview, and she tells police she is not a murderer,
- 24:11even though she did not like Robin. She goes on to tell police that
- 24:15she lost her parents at a young age and she would never do that to
- 24:18someone else's children. She offers to take a polygraph test without police asking it,
- 24:26and she fails it. She gives her alibi, stating that she was
- 24:32at a friend's house with her son that night. Police let her go and
- 24:37continue to investigate the murder of Robin. Police served a search warrant for JD
- 24:42and Katie's home and they Tuta Tena's on a would day Tana. When she
- 24:49says Tuta, she says Tena Tenas they found a peak twenty two six hour
- 24:59mosquito pistol that they assume belonged to Katie based on the fact that it was
- 25:03pink, because I remember when I was going to get I was a long
- 25:07time ago when I was going to get a gun. Remember they come,
- 25:10they have all the pink ones and everything to like get the girls. You
- 25:14know. Anyways, well you got one not pink. It wasn't pink,
- 25:18no, but at least it was a thirty eight dressed no. So if
- 25:21you're gonna murder somebody, at least you got a thirty eight and we do
- 25:23have some hollow points, so I was just okay, anyways, canceled.
- 25:30Anyways, Uh, what this is true? Don't break it into my house
- 25:33and touch my children. I will suck you up. I will visit violence
- 25:37upon you if you touch my family. And if you're not willing to visit
- 25:41violence upon somebody, then I don't know. I know. You see that
- 25:45video with all the moms were like, if you would you kill for your
- 25:47child? And have you seen that video that they have and they were asking
- 25:49these moms would you kill for your child? And they're like him, hould
- 25:52about it. I'm like I would be like, dude, I will fucking
- 25:56rip your juggular out with my teeth right now for okay, Yeah, what
- 26:00do you mean You're like, no, I won't kill for my child?
- 26:02Yeah? What was that movie? We bailed out that series? We bailed
- 26:04at them where the guy took the girl like she was abducted twice in plain
- 26:10Sider. We didn't bail out of that. We watched the whole thing because
- 26:11it was so crazy. I didn't watch it. Oh, I watched it
- 26:17abducted in plain sight? Yeah no, no, anyways, Yeah, I
- 26:22don't understand that. But so now along with the pink gun, the other
- 26:27there were several other guns they were able to verify Katie used that gun,
- 26:33that particular gun based on pictures she had on her Facebook page at the shooting
- 26:37range with said pink gun. So they took that gun and they for processing
- 26:45and everything, and they noticed that it had a small plastic piece that was
- 26:48part of the case, the pink the case, yep, and it was
- 26:52broken off. So when they took that, they compared it to that little
- 26:56piece of plastic they found at the crime scene. It was ton of it
- 27:02matched. It matched exactly, so it's like a perfect little little puzzle piece
- 27:07in there. They also discovered that those pink marks around the broken glass on
- 27:10the window matched the sain colors that pink paint from the gun. So it
- 27:14was pretty clear at this point that that was the murder weapon. On top
- 27:18of finding the gun, they try to confirm Katie's alibi and they're unable to.
- 27:22They try to track her cell phone activity, but she said that she
- 27:26had turned off her phone at that time. Yes, because I turn off
- 27:29my phone all the time. Very suspicious. All right, guys, we're
- 27:33gonna have to pause because I gotta go book Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and the Royalty.
- 27:37We'll be back in just a second, hopefully, and I tell you
- 27:41we got them. Okay, let's see, all right. I know you
- 27:44guys were all on the edge of your seat to see if we did,
- 27:47in fact book what we were trying to book. I got the Bibitty Bobby
- 27:51Boutique STU. I was able to get Royalty Day six. The first day
- 27:56was all sold out, so and they had one time slot love for so
- 27:59I got that in. But then there was a panic moment because I didn't
- 28:02realize that you booked nursery too at this time. So then I'm like panicking
- 28:07because I didn't really have a game plan. I thought you booked that like
- 28:10fifteen days out or something like that, and so I had to go through
- 28:14and use the app to like plan this out because we when we went on
- 28:18our first cruise, we were trepidacious about using the nursery, but then we
- 28:22learned that the nursery is great, So we were going to try to book
- 28:26all three of them because they because of the ages that they are, it's
- 28:30it's three and under can go to the nursery, and so our oldest is
- 28:34a little bit of a wild card because she has like super what you just
- 28:38stopped writing the middle breathing the case just to talk about this cruise. Oh
- 28:44the seats, about what happened between Katie and Ryme. Okay, well I
- 28:47thought they were on the edge of their seats because of the cruise. No
- 28:51they're not. You can Okay, fine, I'll talk about it later,
- 28:53all right, go on, stew My god, what anyways, The point
- 28:56is we got it people, O, good god. I'm gonna need you
- 29:02to donate to the Patreon the papers unsubscribed, unsubscribe, I am unsubscribing from
- 29:07your podcast? What is wrong with you? Know what? You're right?
- 29:10This is more of an Instagram situation. So we'll talk about it. We'll
- 29:14talk about on the Graham tomorrow. Go on, you got a Graham.
- 29:18Yeah, just come on, Stewart. Oh, we're not talking about the
- 29:22same grams. No, Wow, Now Caddy's brought back in for questioning.
- 29:29Okay, where we left off. People. Evidently it doesn't been that long
- 29:33for them. They literally were just listening to it. Oh it's been like
- 29:36five hours. It's been a long time for us. But they were,
- 29:38They're they're right there with us. Okay. Cady was brought back in for
- 29:41questioning, and she continues to deny any involvement in Robin's murder, so they
- 29:48keep pressing her, and she finally says that maybe JD did it. I
- 29:52can't believe she's gonna jant dime JD out on this. JD was clearly a
- 29:59suspect, but Teddy was more so of a suspect. They run JD's background
- 30:03check and find that he had been lying for years. He made claims of
- 30:08being a war veteran, some stolen ballor bullshit, but he had never served
- 30:15in the military whatsoever, which is real offensive to her and her parents whenever
- 30:21the parents found out about this, because they both served in the military,
- 30:25which is more offensive to me because I think JD ought to go through a
- 30:29wood chipper. Okay, now they grow into this wood chipper here lately.
- 30:33But well, I've told you about the wood check. I know, I've
- 30:38about the wood chipper several times. They had text records of JD planning to
- 30:44meet up with Robin that evening. He initially denied this, but once confronted
- 30:48him with the evidence, he changed his too. He tells police that he
- 30:52did meet up with Robin that night like the text said, and they had
- 30:56him and they met on Healing Road. He says they got into Robin's vehicle.
- 31:03Then he hears a tapping on the window, like keys or something.
- 31:07He opens the door and it's Katie standing there. The two women get into
- 31:11an argument, and JD tried to intervene by throwing some jello on him wrestling
- 31:18match, but he was unsuccessful at stopping them from arguing. He tries to
- 31:23get Katie to leave, but she will not, so he gets in his
- 31:26truck and he leaves the two women. Seriously, you're gonna leave two women
- 31:30scrapping on the side of the road. Next thing he heard was that Robin
- 31:37had been murdered. Oops, maybe I shouldn't have left Katie there. Yeah,
- 31:42or Katie probably left and god, someone just showed up and killed Robin.
- 31:47Yeah. Yes, what I'm paying attention to you would to my theorizon.
- 31:56So the alibis that might throw out there, well in the well.
- 32:01And I'm getting tired too. I'm just people. The last hour while you
- 32:07were on the phone, I was making things, namely drinks. Yeah,
- 32:15you want to talk about you want to talk about. They all make all
- 32:19these things about like passenger princess, which I can't be because I get real
- 32:22bad carsick passenger princess on their on her phone with their coffee and her water
- 32:28and just like chilling with their snacks while the husband drives her around. Stu
- 32:31is vacation Princess because he just shows up. Bags have been packed, things
- 32:39have been planned, itineraries, reservations made. You just proved my point when
- 32:44you just said you were making drinks while I'm over here booking and planning everything.
- 32:50You know, damn well, you know, damn well I do.
- 32:52I you can say this this vacation coming up, not the cruise, but
- 32:57the one we're talking about going on. Yes, you're doing leg work for
- 33:00but the other one, Scott, like, I did like work for that
- 33:04too, because I told you I wanted to go. I did leg work
- 33:06for her. But I I printed out the itineraries hour by hour. I
- 33:12made reservations at all the restaurants we wanted to go to. I had everything
- 33:15down in a book. Are we not going to finish this case before we
- 33:19argue? Are we? Well? Argue? Is it on the back end?
- 33:22Yes, it's your return. All right now, with this information,
- 33:25please arrest Katie Phipps just three days after the murder of Robin. Now,
- 33:30Katie sits in jail for over a year waiting to go on trial, and
- 33:32she continues to proclaim, proclaim her innocence, not confessing to the murder,
- 33:37because it's just kind of crazy that they just believe j D. Also that
- 33:40he just told him that this is what happened. They're like, sounds good.
- 33:45Yeah, well it was her gun, but he lived in the house
- 33:47with her there. I think it's a conspiracy in myself, however, that
- 33:54it's her gun now that they were both involved in it. Anyways, investigators
- 34:00continue to look for more evidence that will place her at the scene of the
- 34:02crime and not just JD's word. Her cell phone was off at the time,
- 34:07so normal tracking methods could not be used. However, they reached out
- 34:10to the FBI and they had a new way of tracking. They had like
- 34:14a new way of tracking cell phones. And this was I mean, this
- 34:16isn't like you know, rocket science, but they were using like Wi Fi
- 34:22because the phones were this was twenty fourteen, so I guess you know,
- 34:24more Wi Fi enabled phones. So anyway, so they could actually, you
- 34:30know, track the Wi Fi. And this was much more accurate than cell
- 34:32phone towers because it's not like triangulating the position. It knows exactly where they
- 34:37were based on the Wi Fi w a route or something. Yeah. Now,
- 34:42like we said, Katie's phone was off the night that Robin was killed,
- 34:45but she said she was with her son, who had an iPhone,
- 34:51and multiple witnesses stated that Katie was with her son the entire day and evening.
- 34:55They said she was with them, She was with them the whole time.
- 34:59Now, so they decided they were going to track his location to see
- 35:01if maybe she brought him with her to commit the crime. Well, they
- 35:07found that Katie was never near, never anywhere near Helium Road like her The
- 35:10son's WiFi was at a friend's house the whole entire time, and that friend
- 35:15said that she Katie was with her son that time. During that time.
- 35:20Now, after over a year in jail and losing everything she had, which
- 35:23included her son, Katie was actually released and all charges were dropped. That's
- 35:29a motherfucker. Yeah, so for a year he lost her son, Yeah,
- 35:32lost her son to Child Protective Services or maybe the father. I think
- 35:40she said he went into CPS or whatever, but she sat there and then
- 35:44they finally were able to track her whereabouts with the son because before when they
- 35:50checked her alibi, I guess there wasn't any solid proof she was where she
- 35:53was until they came up with this plan because everyone said she was with her
- 35:59son. So now they go track the sun there she is. She's not
- 36:02anywhere near the crime scene. So that leaves somebody who did it? Who
- 36:07do we think? Probably a stranger. No, it's not a stranger,
- 36:12stud you don't think. No. With this new information, police arrest JD
- 36:17spieled Bauer in April twenty sixteen, and they charged him with capital murder.
- 36:23Now, the theory that police have is that Robin was upset with JD during
- 36:29their meeting. This seems like some real Barney Fife police work, you know,
- 36:34like a bit we just kind of like, let's just arrest whoever and
- 36:37then we'll figure it out later. Then they just fell into something. Now
- 36:40they believe that at their meeting, she broke off the affair that she was
- 36:44happening with JD, and she demanded that he pay all of the back child
- 36:50support that he owed or she would take him to court. Now, police
- 36:54believed that this anger JD and that they began to argue, so he went
- 37:00back to his truck, pulled out the pink pistol. Robin locked herself in
- 37:06her car and that's when he began beating the window with the butt of the
- 37:09gun. They believed this caused damage to the window and it broke off the
- 37:16grip off the gun, which was found later that matched up. Robin,
- 37:22thinking he would never shoot her, finally gets out of her car and he
- 37:28in fact does shoot her. He then pulled out a tire iron out of
- 37:32his car and beat her just to make sure she was dead. Yeah,
- 37:37because he probably knew that twenty two wasn't gonna do the jump. Yeah,
- 37:42he drove off. I mean, she probably really didn't think he was gonna
- 37:45shoot her. I mean, he wasn't a great guy, but he wasn't
- 37:49It wasn't like a murderers. Yeah, it wasn't like that he'd ever So
- 37:52she probably did just think he's just being ridiculous. But anyways, recapping police
- 38:00Blavy shot her, left her on the side of the road to die,
- 38:04and in January of twenty eighteen, a jury found JD guilty of murder.
- 38:09He was sentenced to life in prison and a ten thousand dollars fine. Yep,
- 38:15that's it. Ten thousand. Well life in prison too. I mean,
- 38:20I'm surprised that most people don't have fines checked onto their Oh well,
- 38:24they don't ever pay them. No, they don't. They're in jail.
- 38:28Like if you gave told me I had a fine, but you also put
- 38:30me in jail for the rest of my life. Why what on earth would
- 38:31I pay that? You might be making ten cents of plate making the license
- 38:36plates in prison. Oh and they, yeah, they do take the money.
- 38:38Then they garnish your wages. Yeah, that's that's pretty You already have
- 38:43an rough ten cents. Oh what do you want from the commissary? You
- 38:47got ten cents and they garnish your wages that you are making in prison.
- 38:52Anyways, but a couple of rama noodles is ninety nine cents, and we
- 38:57just garnished all your money. You got ten cents, nine cents no more.
- 39:00I was posting about the milk. Help. I thought it was just
- 39:04crazy that the milk's gone up almost five percent in a month. That's crazy.
- 39:07It seems like it's a small amount, but that adds up stew it
- 39:13does so. Yeah. But the one person that's not, you know,
- 39:16like the tea the Arizona tea guy. He's keeping his ninety nine cents.
- 39:20It's printed on the can, he said, I'm debt free. It's hard
- 39:24enough as it is. Why would I raise the price on these poor broke
- 39:28people and the giant can? Anyways, all right, do you have a
- 39:34yelling Jesus? Of course I got a yelling Jesus. Okay, I have
- 39:38a gamer who flew on an aeroplane to an attack a rival with a hammer,
- 39:46according to police. Now, is this Florida or not Florida? Wait?
- 39:52What was it again? You were on your phone scrolling through shit.
- 39:57Whenever I was, I was looking at that. Julia Rawroberts was at the
- 40:00Taylor Swift concert. She looked a little too friendly with old Travis Kelce.
- 40:06She was in that movie, Julian Roberts. She looked friendly with Travis kel
- 40:09She was all touching his chest and stuff. Maybe Taylor Swift stab Julia Robinson
- 40:15face. It'd be a lot more interesting than that movie we just watched.
- 40:17Well, the movie was really interesting until the end. Well, yeah it
- 40:21was. They really botched the ending. Anyways, what was it again?
- 40:24Something about a hammer? A gamer guy in the plays video games flew to
- 40:30another place to attack a rival with a hammer, according to police, Florida,
- 40:36not Florida, Florida. You won't even believe this. Okay, here's
- 40:45the actual headline. New Jersey gamer Jersey flew to Florida. So we got
- 40:52Jersey and Florida. This is Jersey and Florida. It's all coming together.
- 40:57It's like when Travis Kelsey went out on this stage. He was one of
- 41:00the guys. I don't know what you're talking about. Anyways, So he
- 41:05flew to Florida to attack arrival with a hammer, according to police. Now
- 41:09this comes to us from the New York Times. On was the guy that
- 41:15he went to attack with the hammer? Was he dressed as a mushroom?
- 41:20Maybe? Maybe, because that would make sense if he's a gamer. Mario
- 41:24Brothers, We're gonna have to ask Jesus Jeminez. Oh, I mean Jesus
- 41:30Jimenez. Now. According to the New York Times, a New Jersey man
- 41:37who the police said had blown to Florida and attacked a fellow gamer with a
- 41:44hammer over an online dispute, was charged with attempted second degree murder on Sunday.
- 41:52The me the man, Edward Kang, twenty from New Jersey, was
- 41:57taken into custody early on Sunday morning after he arrived at the fellow gamer's house
- 42:04around two am. This guy serious, I should have had him stay up
- 42:08and book my Disney stay right that same day and attack the victim with a
- 42:13hammer, Sheriff Bill Leeper of Nassau County, Florida said at the New News
- 42:20conference on Good God, I'm drunk on Monday. Sheriff Leeper said that mister
- 42:27Kang had never met the game or he attacked in person, but that they
- 42:30knew each other from playing arch arch arch Age. I don't know what this
- 42:36is, a fantasy online game where players pursued their own adventures of exploration and
- 42:44conquest in a mythical world. Good god, what are these people doing?
- 42:50An arrest report? You know, someday there's going to be like a murder
- 42:53in the meta world or whatever they call that that world. And whether you
- 42:58put on the the headset the oculus, is that the uh, the Facebook
- 43:06version or is that the Google? No, that's Oculus had said? I
- 43:09think is Google? Maybe? Yeah, someday there's gonna be a murder in
- 43:15that world and they're gonna have to investigate. There's a there's a murder happening
- 43:20to this story right now needs to be investigated. It doesn't need to be
- 43:23investigated. We know what happened, Jamison, not that not the child.
- 43:29Not the child that we own and arrest. Report identify the target of mister
- 43:37Kang's attack as a mister Zachary Din, who declined to comment on Tuesday.
- 43:43It was unclear what interactions mister Kang and mister Dinn had online. Shriff Fleeper
- 43:49said that the episode originated from an online altercation. Shriff Fleeper said that in
- 43:57ourc age, characters can be created to fight and kill one another. I
- 44:00don't know what transpired between the victim and the Sunspect suspect, but something made
- 44:06the suspect want to come down to Florida and injure the other individual. Oh
- 44:14all right, is that it? I mean that should be I mean there's
- 44:17this should be it. We should be done. Yeah, I think there's
- 44:21like six more paragraphs. Okay, well we need to be done. I
- 44:23will talk about the cruise or Taylor Swift again. We'll just shut this and
- 44:29we'll just shut this down. Okay. I mean I'd listened to you talked
- 44:32about the cruise for the next four hours, but I don't want to hear
- 44:37Taylor Swift around. Did you know that that cruise we went on, that
- 44:39Allure of the Seas on its inaugural year of selling. Taylor Swift wasn't like,
- 44:47obviously how big she is today. She was, you know, big,
- 44:51but not this big. She actually went and played on that ship.
- 44:54It was like a promotional thing, you know. Good. Thanks. She
- 45:00went on icon of to say, is it caught fire? The other day?
- 45:04Far got caught on far? Oh lord? Anyways, all right,
- 45:07well, thank you for hanging in there. Check out the Instagram. May
- 45:14or may not talk about this. If you don't want to hear about it,
- 45:16then hear about what the cruise. Anyways, I'm getting real tired.
- 45:22I'm not built to stay up this late. This is I'm usually being in
- 45:27bed like two hours ago. No, you're you're just not talking on.
- 45:30No, I'm usually just sitting there zoning out, watching on. We've been
- 45:35watching the Hitler stuff on Netflix. Here. We were thinking I was thinking
- 45:39we should do something like what did I call it? What did I say
- 45:45for the shows that we watch? Listen? Uh tv TV reviews with Karen
- 45:55ste you know anyway? Ways, all right, so uh Instagram, Facebook,
- 46:04check out our Patreon. I am fading fast and I only had like
- 46:09one glass of wine. I'm just I'm not what I used to be.
- 46:13People, I'm I'm just I can attest that, yes, what she used
- 46:19to be. This is getting real depressing. Role is going to be a
- 46:22fourth child or not? All right, well, we will see you next
- 46:28time. Bye everyondesday by ste Don't you know it's bad to be SUPERSTI shots
- 46:38by not being Ali's working. It's pretty learning sick. This worthy, I can
