- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: He is a tremendous follow.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: I've been following his work for a while.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: We were talking a little bit before the show.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: And his is breakdowns and evaluation of Y-Drecyvers, especially for me this draft season, where the
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: Browns desperately needed help at Wider Seaver, and there were so many prospects to go through and learn about.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: You really helped educate me on the Wider Seaver prospects and help me form my opinions on who I liked and who I wanted for the Browns.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: And we got two guys that I was very excited to get so can welcome to the show.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: Happy to have you, man.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: is a pleasure to be here.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a big fan of what you guys do and what you do.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate that.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_02]: And why don't you just real quick?
- 4:40[SPEAKER_02]: I know we said you already did this before the show, but recap for everybody watching listening, you're background and you know your football history and how you got to doing what you're doing now.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I actually grew up in a basketball city, but I found out that football was just in my lineage.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: My cousin played 10 years in NFL for the Vikings.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: He was a receiver semi-white, and then my pops had up trial with the Patriots.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: And so I said, let me just trial college football and high school football.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I didn't really get my chance like that, but I did have a couple private workouts with XFL teams.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: I played overseas in Mexico.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: But I found out my true calling was getting the next generation better at being receivers, train them, mentoring them, all that.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I've gotten the chance to train a lot of high school players, college players, division one athletes, and I've also gotten the chance to even train with an NFL receiver this past off season.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: So that was great.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, who was it?
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: Do you mind me asking?
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: He could've said, yeah.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: All right, that's what's he like, you know, just as a, I mean, I will dive into him and just profile and everything, but just as a person.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: I said it when his trainer Jeep took me to his pro day.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: The first thing I noticed about him was that he's just a kind person.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: You could almost just feel it.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like when I dapped him up on just like, there's something about him that just like, it seems so just he genuine.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like really genuine.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: It was crazy.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then he told me like, yeah, you're not the only one that's ever told me that.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, wow, that's crazy.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: And then fast forward, he becomes a brown.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: are you kidding this is crazy like I just met him two months ago at his pro day it was it was wow to see he's a he's a he's a extremely hard worker he's he's a leader he will test guys he will let guys know what it is from the jump he doesn't sugarcoat but he just seems like an all-round great guy that loves football and it's extremely focused on just getting better at every time
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: That's a really cool insight because we've had people ask us, who's going to be the emerges, the leader and the widersaver room who's even more outspoken person?
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of people, they don't know the personality of these new players on the team, the rookie is especially, but to hear you say that is awesome because
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of, I've kind of gotten that from him a little bit just through press conferences and media stuff and I feel like he's, he is definitely genuine.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the, he's got the stutter, right, that he's dealt with his whole life and I saw something where he was talking about wanting to be a good example for, you know, younger kids that also deal with, you know, things like that and just be a positive example and I'm like, I'm very happy that Browns are bringing in not just talented athletes and good football players,
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: You could just, you can just tell just by hearing them talk how he of approach is just everything.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: It was just, it was just good to see.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, that's a receiver on my team now.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: I feel great.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it was amazing.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: So the Browns, your team, I really want to hear your story about being a Browns fan.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I grew up being a Browns fan from the time I believe I was about six years old, six years old, so it was the time where I think we had William Green and whatnot.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I was kind of on the fence.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: My best friend was a bankless fan.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: And they just so happened to be good.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, be a bankless fan or should I be a Browns fan?
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: And my father's been sick.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not letting that happen.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: And so here I am.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: Young kid believing that every single week we could have won one game when we went all in 16.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: All that I just I love everything about Cleveland.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: I love I love football.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: I just love the Browns.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's really what it is.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: I just I never gave up on them never will.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Cleveland for life.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: Really.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: Bleeding Brown and Orange man.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's yeah.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: There's something about being a Browns fan too.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's it's just different.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're you're you're you're
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: Because people ask me all the time, why do you still do this?
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: And just find a new team.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I can't.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_02]: You don't understand.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: There's a commitment here that I will never give up.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's just something about, I don't really know.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't been good.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: Really, I think we won't be good.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: Great season.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's, but it's just, people call it a sickness.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: I call it loyalty.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you can call a lot of things, but yeah, it's just who we are.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: It is just who we are and you know, we're hoping that the trend and history of not being very good can start to reroute itself a little bit here.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: Give me a break down.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: Let's start with some of these, the two rookies that we brought in.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll just start with Casey, Concepts you own because obviously he's the first guy we drafted.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: He was our first round pick at, you know, 24 in the first.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think that there has been a lot of, and you can correct me if I'm wrong here on my perception.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like Denzel Bosson's gotten a lot of the highlight buzz from the OTA as a mini kit, because he makes the big down the field 50, 50 catch the contestic, all that stuff.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's awesome at that.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like Casey Concepcion's going a little under the radar because what he does very well and what I believe he's going to do very well for the Browns isn't really these quick clip highlight reels that you're going to get huge engagement on social media.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's the quick hitters, the quick slant.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's get the ball into his hands fast because that's when the magic happens.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, give me your breakdown on Casey.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: actually agree with that.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny you said that because I said that in the space on Twitter not too long ago.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: It was I think it was right after you when I was you said basically like then Zell does get all the highlight reels, but we're not paying attention to the slants case he's can set shelves catching and he's running and getting yak, but it's not a big play because we can't tackle exact level.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: So we haven't had a guy to be able to take
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: for six since OBJ and it's case he that's how long goes miss and be there with a food that and not not only does do that but he's able to play everywhere he's just not designated in a slot he can play to your ex he can play your z obviously can go in a slot I mean
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't had this in years, so it's just really good to be able to have somebody that has a full route tree like that, and that can win everywhere.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: Talk about that real quick.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: The importance of having an expanded route tree for a receiver.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's super important because you don't want to limit yourself.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: When you limit yourself especially in the NFL, it makes your job a little bit harder.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: When you're able to do everything, you have more opportunities.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I've been telling everybody, Casey will be able to have a ton of opportunities because he can play everywhere, and not just everywhere, he can run any route you got.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: Any route top look it has, he can run an exceptional level.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why I think he's going to get a ton of opportunities.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: So you think there is wide receiver one, alpha commanding target potential for KC conception.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: Is that kind of what I'm hearing?
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: To an extent, yes, but we'll see, but yes, there is a big possibility for that.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: Whenever I was going through my wide receiver evaluations too in the draft process, I just kept coming back to him and saying to myself, like, I think this guy could be a wide receiver one for an NFL offense, because like you said, he can just play everywhere.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: You really can't be that target commander for a team in the NFL if you have to come off the field and two wide receiver sets, because you're limited to this position or that position
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: For a guy that can bounce inside outside run, like you said, every raffle, you use him in the screen game and around reverses, just get the ball in his hands, his yards after catchability in college blew me away.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I think people, they wait kind of crazy.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when I said he's actually our own version of Antonio Brown from back in a day.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying he's going to have his exact legacy, his exact stats, but the way he was used in the pumperate turn, the kick return, where versus inside and outside, the way they were at least to run, they get the way they get out of their brakes, it's literally the same.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: They're the same speed.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's hilarious to see because it's just like we finally have our own version of a guy that can do everything and we have not had that sense of if you want to say
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's just amazing to see that we really have that.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the the return ability too.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you brought that up because.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't just even had a guy that can return, you know, consistently or with any, you know, success really and this guy, I just feel like he's an all around weapon.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: And when people use comps, I think the average fan will hear, oh, he's Antonio Brown and they do what you just said, they think, well, he's going to have that career.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you're saying.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: No, you're saying that's the profile, the athletic profile, the way he plays the game, the way he can be utilized.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: and then if they're all hits the ceiling, sure, maybe the production looks similar, but exactly, I love that.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: So then Denzel Boston, you know?
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: I did you have a first round like grade on Denzel Boston.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: I saw at the end of the first round because I could definitely see a team going after him.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: I saw us getting him possibly if we went tackle as six or even traded down.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I see a lot of people saying he doesn't separate well, but for his art type, you don't need to have consistent separation of getting by people by three yards.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: What he needs to do is just, never want to obviously catch the ball.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: which he did at a high rate, I think he was only behind car now and dropped right.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: I believe with like 3.1% of his, uh, what were drops.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: And then obviously using your physicality, being able to win versus press and just getting out of your brakes and an an an an an efficient rate.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: He does a half to be a KC and then make defenders miss at the line every single time and make guys look silly.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: All he has to do is just use his body, catch the football and run great rounds.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I think people get misconstrued because then he NFL, anyway, and if I
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: half a yard, a yard of separation is getting open, you know?
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: So that's really all we all we need to see from Denzel Boston.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's true, and I hear that a lot to even on the broadcasts, don't mention something about an NFL window.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: The NFL Open is not wide, you know, break away from your defender open.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like mad in where you're just breaking away five yards.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we wish, but it's just now reality, especially with corners getting better.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know, so this is very true.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: And then, you know, you mentioned the drop weights rate.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll go back just real quick to Casey.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: Can you put Brown's fans minds at ease at all with the concern over his, uh, his drop rate in college?
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, you got to look at the balls that he was trying to catch from his quarterback, sometimes he was getting hit and it was just some more concentration drops.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Some even when he was catching them, he called him, but he was looking up, feel quick.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's just trying to make a move.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I want everyone to understand.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's not that he can't catch.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not that at all because I watched the man work out.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: No gloves.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: He was snagging things one hand.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: It like it was just,
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: Second day stimulus ridiculous.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's just all it is.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's just focusing on catching the catch net and looking at it And then and then and then and then folks on face to which is getting up field.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's really all it is.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: The man can catch He had a great contested catch right.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's not that he can't catch everybody He's able to do that.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: He just has to hone in on that and it will probably we even want to be that big of a deal on a sleep
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: That's that's really good to hear and I was watching another podcast.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: I forget who it was the guest at.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: He was also a evaluator wide receivers and he was talking about concepts he on and said.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: the same thing you're saying, concentration drops.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: And he said, that is ways or to fix, then drops due to hand strength or lack of hand strength.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, absolutely.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because you see guys go up in traffic and yeah, they high point the ball, but they just they can't grip it.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have a strong hands.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: And that is more difficult to make that better because it's just it takes a lot more time, a lot more effort, a lot more nuanced.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: if he will.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, his problem is really not that big deal.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I've seen it in, uh, in rookie, many camp in many camp where I mean, I think we're from Washington.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: He caught like a slant and he looked it all the way in.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: So I could tell he's focusing on what he's been, what he's been quote unquote lacking.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: So that's when I know he's, he's just player that I watched when he was working out.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's trying to be the best he can as positive.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: So, that definitely, I mean, I wasn't overly concerned about the drops myself on this show we haven't really been, but I just, every time I talk about him, that's one of the first comments I get from just the average fan, I think, or like, well, but his drops, I'm like, I don't think that's that big of a deal, but it's good to hear here.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he doesn't have a 0.0 drop right like like Carnell, but I mean, when we can't say, he can't catch the football now, he can catch the football.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: He can catch one.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_02]: He can he can do some stuff with it after the catch and, you know, Denzel Boston will go back to him.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I could say, when is the last time the Browns have had this type of receiver?
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: This big body, what is he six, six, three, two, 15, something like that?
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: I, it's three, six, four.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_02]: I know as far as body size is probably the most similar on the roster.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I've been saying the exact same build.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: The skill set.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be what a lot of people thought said your Tim would be.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: Would be our possible number one guide.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: But this kid is a little bit different.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think he even said him one hit to his interviews.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's trying to make these, he's trying to take DB's launches.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's trying to make people like understand.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm him.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to do whatever I can to make you look bad.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: And when he said that, I was like,
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, his mentality is crazy.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: We got some killers on this team.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I, we had a really seen it.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, as far as production, we could just say Josh Warden.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and before that, Raylan Edwards, so it's been a very long time, very long time.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think it was the draft call.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: Andrew Barry to Denzel Boston, I saw it on whatever, X, and I think he said to him, are you a little pissed off after last night?
- 19:03[SPEAKER_02]: Meaning, you didn't go in the first round
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yes I am.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: I get that I get it.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: I love that mentality like you said the dog mentality.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_02]: Come out here and body your guy.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, don't let them take you.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: You go out there and you impose your will.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's your ball.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: You go get it and I'm excited to watch Denzel Boston play.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: super excited because now we have a guy that if it is in the resin, we have a smaller corner, we can take a shot.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's right there, why not?
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: Because we haven't had that, we've always had to kind of rely on guys that either weren't sure handed or a little bit smaller.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: Now we got a guy that can do everything.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the beauty of our receiver room.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now we're going to get into it, but
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't really had this top of receiver room ever, at least for as long as I had been a fan, at least on my pay.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think?
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you, man.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: Just what they did in the draft.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I can't believe they got conception Boston, who's skill sets in my opinion.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think you probably agree compliment each other so well.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: Perfectly.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: you know, they don't overlap each other or take away from what the other and it's where one is a little either deficient due to skill set or just because of their body's type, archetype or whatever, the other one is proficient and vice versa.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, we can attack all areas of the field just with those two guys.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_02]: And then you factor in the other guys we'll talk about Judy and, you know, to him in bond, I want to talk to you about and, you know, Harold Fanon at the tight end spot, just like, from week and actually do some stuff.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: You can, and you said it perfectly, they perfectly compliment each other because they do things differently, but they can also do the same things as well, like playing in a slot, playing any position.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: But it makes me believe and have more faith, and not only just Andrew Barry and Topmunkin, but our scouting department.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like they really did their research on what they needed to do whenever.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: See, we all knew we were getting at least one guy.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: But the fact that they got two guys that high, and they compliment each other so well,
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: Well done.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's like they obviously recognized we were lacking in that receiver room and they were willing to use two of their first three picks on receivers and I could have believed it.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't either.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't sure if he was going to do it because everyone's going to take one at six and take one at twenty four like I don't think Andrew Barry's taking two receivers in the first round.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was thinking at least maybe fit, I guess.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: In the 50s, do we have a 54 or something?
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's something like that, yeah.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was thinking to receive her there, but 39 hours, I was shocked.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I was going to be an EMW on me too.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: Me too.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_02]: And then when we got him to 58, it's like, what just happened, what just happened here?
- 21:49[SPEAKER_02]: Look at the draw, I'll tell you there right now.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: It really was, the draft board fell our way, and we just, we did it, we made it happen.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 22:04[SPEAKER_02]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing against the house.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_02]: There's no house trying to beat you.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: So if you think the public is wrong and the Browns can make the playoffs in Todd Munkins first year, or Casey Concepcion, Denzel Boston, one of those guys can win offensive rookie of the year, you can take the other side of the market and then if you're right, that's a big payout for you.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not just sports either, you can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: It works like this, simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: So, if you trust your takes and instincts, and I know you guys do, go check out Cowshin see what markets are live right now.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: So use our link in the description or just head over to kalshi.com slash dogs, KAL, SHI.com slash dogs, DAWGS, and you'll get $10 when you sign up and trade $100 on Cowshin, because why shouldn't you guys get paid for being right?
- 23:07[SPEAKER_02]: I guess let's talk about Jerry Judy.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: Let's move into him real quick because I think a lot of people would say he's kind of the default wide receiver one until one of the other guys establishes himself.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: Some people are like, well, Judy's just automatically wide receiver three is an afterthought to begin with.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: Talk to me about Jerry Judy.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: from the jump people should know he is going to be the guy he's going to get the most chances only because he is the vet and he still did have 12 hundred yards in 2024.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's just he's the quote unquote leader in that room as far as just having experience.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's our primary X right now or Z.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be in his primary position and he's going to get his shot and guys are just going to kind of following and compliment him as the as it goes.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: But I've been saying too is that since we have this four deep receiver room that can really do it all.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: guys are gonna have their own wide receiver one gang.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: We might see Isaiah Bon had 80 yards in the touchdown.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: We'll probably see Jerry Judy had 1-10 in up and a touchdown.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: We'll probably see Boston have like 80 yards in two touchdowns.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Same with KC just going on.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's gonna have their own games when they go out based on personnel coverage is how they like to play people and just being able to just like go after deficiencies in their defense.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: I feel good about Jerry Judy because he's not gonna be the only guy think about it like this and this is No, this is no shade or are the receivers, but even when said your Timon was going or when uh Jerry Judy was going off We had Elijah Moore which we never really used correctly, but Jerry Judy was our main guy who else did we really had the rely on who else did defense is really fear?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: No one
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: So if you only have Jerry Judy, you'd see their hand or you're done.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: So now we don't have that.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: If Jerry Judy gets locked up, you still got a guard, three of our receivers, not counting Harold Fanon and possibly Joe Royer.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm glad you threw Joe Royer in there.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sneaky intrigued to see what Joe Royer does here over the summer.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's a baller.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: He's a waller.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_02]: Well, maybe we'll talk about him for a quick minute.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: Here's the end because we need somebody.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: We need somebody else at the tight end spot.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_02]: I can't just be Harold Fan, especially since he's not your traditional tight end.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on with you on that.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so you mentioned Isaiah Bond.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: And what you said there about every guy having their, what, you know, quote, unquote, whiter, see for one game, I believe that.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think that it's not going to be every week.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to be peppering one guy with 10 to 15 targets, and then everybody else just gets the scraps.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's like you said it's going to be game, game plan, specific, a lot of weeks.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Isaiah Bond.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know, as a rookie, I was, I was impressed with what he was able to do with limited opportunities, limited preparation.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't even get here until after preseason was over, if I remember correctly.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: So missed all that opportunity to train and get up to NFL speed.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: Only Kyle was at 18 or something, 16 passes the whole year, but ended up with 338 yards or something.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't a lot of passes, I'll tell you that.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: No, but I mean, he packed the, you know, piled up the yards and talked me about him because we've been hearing a lot from the mini camp about he's looking good, like the route trees expanding, he's adding some muscle.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see you upside here for Isaiah Bond.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: He lives good from just watching his training videos.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like he's really focused on things that can make him just not just a deep threat Like people think just everything he can just working on his intermediate game is a short game and that's what she wants So I think it's gonna be a whole different ball game this year because like I said people think he's only
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: a nine-row guide, a deep post guide, but we're going to see him run slans.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to see him run quick outs.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to see him be able to catch some curls and get some jack because I think what we're forgetting is he can get some jack.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: He can get some yards out of the catch and we've seen it at Texas.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: So again, he's not going to be the primeary guy.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: People are going to have to worry about three other targets when he's on the other side.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: I feel really good about him, especially like you said, no preparation, he was just basically going off of just athleticism and what he knows and what he could pick up in a short amount of time and it didn't work out at first, but as he went along, the packers game, he looked amazing, just we couldn't get him the football, the Detroit game was really when he took off, I mean, and then you had that one play with the bears, you know, where should or change the play,
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: it makes me really excited not only for him but the entire receiver room because again they compliment each other so well back guys are going to do it's going to be a real balanced room that you will yeah I agree with you on that and the for me I just always picture that throw in the raiders game the 52 yard bomb from chador's like and I love the deep throughout ability and I know like you said he's working on being able to do more than just that but
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: Betschador's game like he the deep ball the deep accuracy like that's that's where he lives You know, he's so good at that and I feel like we've got guys now who can actually
- 28:22[SPEAKER_02]: make it happen on the other end.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you and that's the reason why I think he's going to get even more open it because guys are going to be so worried about KC and the intermediate and short game.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: Jerry Judy and those same two and Denzel Boston, you know, it's just going to be everyone's going to be moving around and people might be panicking.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: So it's going to leave I say, guys, like I say, a bond that people may not forget, but it's like if he beats his damn, that's tough or
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: So we've got we'll talk about Senator Tillman real quick because he's obviously the other vet on the team last year of his rookie contract here.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_02]: It just hasn't gone the way we hoped when we took him in the third round, he hasn't been able to stay healthy, hasn't he flashed a little bit?
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: Well, was that 2024 with James Winston there for about two and a half games, I think.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then he had the concussion against the Steelers, lost the rest of the season.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: What do you see with Cedric Tilman and what's kind of your prediction for him as far as a roster spot?
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think they'll probably make the team because I mean, they're still, he's not talentless.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: He does have talent.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not consistent, but in the NFL, you do need consistency and you're as good as what you've done last, you know.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how it shakes up.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think the main thing with him is just stay healthy and try to fight your way into those games so that way you can get your shot.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: And if he does, I think he should do fine, especially with and not having to be, then possibly the number one or number two option now.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: So now you can fall back and just kind of gain his role and just be consistent catching the football whatnot.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see what I'm not putting all my expectations in him.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, I think that's kind of where I'm at too, like I'm not putting any high expectations, but I'm not ruling him out completely.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's been a lot of talk amongst the media and just fans in general about this wide receiver room and could we see a potential trade during training camper preseason if another team suffers an injury and just looking at the roster in the contract situations.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think the two guys that make the most sense in that would be Cedric Tillman, being on the last year of his DOF a team, or to say, hey, we could use that.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: type of receiver, we had an injury or whatever, depends on what they're willing to.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Jerry duties contract is actually tradable this year.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: So, Barry, I don't know.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it wasn't steel because actually people say, well, he's getting paid wide receiver one money.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: No, he's not.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as you very did this thing with that, but here's the thing though.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: I keep trying to tell everybody I think is if Jerry Judy actually does do well, they're probably going to pay him and it's still not going to be crazy.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: Why receiver one money.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: This going to be a balanced contract if if if you will.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: I would be okay with that because if we're thinking about it, if he does do well, that's two out of three good years that he's had with the Browns and two of those years he played with what's seven different quarterbacks and let's just say Shidorah was a quarterback competition and they finally hit off.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: He does well with the guy that played all 17 games.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's a recipe for success in my opinion.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he'd be your only veteran in that room.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: That is very true.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: Why you'd be rolling into next year with two second years guys, a 30-year guy?
- 31:49[SPEAKER_02]: Not ideal, I'll say that, not ideal.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, definitely not.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: You need a veteran presence or couple if you can in a lot of positions.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I think it would be really beneficial for the Browns of Jerry Judy.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_02]: bounces back.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he needs to.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think he knows he needs to as well.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see, but I feel I feel good about it.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: I know he wasn't catching a football last year as good as we would hope, but
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a hone in and just lock you know what he has been lacking and then we all know the talent's there.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, and that's another thing, too.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think is important to remember with this room, even if we're down on Judy or down on Tillman, like they have talent, these guys are not lacking in that department whatsoever.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: As far as the other guys, I guess,
- 32:37[SPEAKER_02]: fighting for roster spots here over the summer training camp preseason.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: Is there anybody specifically like you want to highlight as a guy or a couple guys at the Browns fans should keep their eye on that might actually make a push for this roster?
- 32:50[SPEAKER_02]: Any of that stuff?
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: I like what thrash brains seen him in the Patriots game.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think before halftime with Dylan Gabriel I just like what he does and he fights.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: He really does fight.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: I remember in a Denver game where Jerry Judy went off and I think 2024 he ran a whip route and then he fell going into it.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: He got a right back up and then got the football.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's when I knew like
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's he's at a mature level as far as being a receiver.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to see more.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he lacks talent either I just don't think he's gotten a chance of I don't know what's been happening whether he's just gotten beat now or maybe he was hurt or something But I like what trash brains really might be
- 33:30[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I mean, I was definitely interested when we took him in the fifth round a couple years back and then you know, as a little surprise last year, he got wave during roster cut downs, right, and then got brought back onto the the practice squad ended up coming back to the roster during the season, all that, but yeah, he's definitely somebody to be watching.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_01]: I like him too.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's a pretty good route runner.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: But we just got to use him in ways that helps him and that can really help him.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think that since we have our receiver room, I think we can get him in a row if he does make the team to be able to succeed.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: And since we have munked as well, he's going to put people in the best position to do well.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: So that's how that's why I feel really good about that as well.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, give me your thoughts on Todd Monk and real quick, just as an offensive mind, kind of compared to what we've had the last six years with Kevin's to fanski because I feel like I've been talking a lot about the
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, improving the offense or, you know, changing anything up.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: So, what do you think about Monk and compared to what we've had?
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: The main thing with Monk and compared to just what we've had in the past five or six years is space.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's space and we're going to have guys that are just, we're, they're not two yards apart on every route.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: Cause even last year when I was watching the tape, it's just,
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: every other play guys are like this close together and just it's not a recipe for success whatsoever.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: So again it goes with guys they're spacing.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Guys being in their correct spots, Judy being at the Z, Denzel being at the X, KC being everywhere.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: Just guys being at their in their best spot to do well for the Browns.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's what we're going to see in a difference with this offense this year.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you mentioned the spacing because as soon as you said that, I started getting hit with some memories from all the games last year where you'd see two receivers basically right on each other's butt and it's like, what are we doing here in the biggest one that hit me immediately was that preseason game against the Eagles doing Gabriel through that pick six and we couldn't figure out who he was throwing to because there were two guys there and it's like, you you saw the problems in the preseason and they just carried straight through the season.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I was wondering as well because it wasn't only last year, it was year's prior.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: So we have different players doing this.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: Is it the player?
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: Is that, are that many players messing up or is it the scheme?
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: So that's when I started leaning to more towards the scheme because it wasn't just happening one one season, it was happening almost every season.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, that's what I'm really most excited for.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, guys having space to do what they do best.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a very simple thought, but obviously the execution from the coaching standpoint isn't always quite as simple, but I'm excited for Monk and I think that he's got such extensive history with developing offences and working with different players, different styles of players, arc types, you know, I receive a running back quarterback.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's had different players everywhere, and he's able to mold what he wants to do around those guys.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: absolutely and I can't wait to see not only what he does with the receiver room, but what he does with a Titan room like 13 person though, 12 person now.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see what he does with Don Samson and Quenchon Juggins.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to just see overall what he does to this offense and because we're so used to like you said having a stale offense where even fans could call off some of the plays that we may run on certain sentences just like when that happens,
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: I, Dylan Samson, I don't feel like they knew how to use him last year.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: And the bank was getting they do.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was a slot.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: But after that, you kind of just really didn't see.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: They wanted him really going in between the tackles all the time.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I wasn't really a fan of that.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's more way more than that.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that's really him.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think you need to get him out of space.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: So my idea.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think that he's his talent level, I'm so intrigued by what Dylan Samson could be, what he was able to do with just limited touches last year, like you said, that bangles game was unbelievable what he was able to do.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_02]: We had no wrong game.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: He was doing that, just I couldn't believe it, I'm like, who is this guy is about to be?
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: and saying yeah insane but we just never used in the right way and and even when it narrators game he got used a little bit but it wasn't the same and totality as the bangles game and now we got to get back to that yeah we definitely do and and speaking of quenchon like
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: The videos of him working out and the fact I did not expect him, I've been saying this a ton.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: I just still can't get over the fact that he was full go for OTAs in many camp.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: I fully expected him to be limited participant and I would have been happy with limited participant coming off of that, you know, leg injury, late in the season, coming in here like chaos, take it easy in the spring, we'll get you, you know, up to speed ready to go for training camp.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: He was full go right off the rip, I'm like, who is this guy?
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think he was full of the rip because I did a city day and really hurt any knee ligaments.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think if he would hurt someone there, I think he'd have been to a little bit longer.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that's true and man, watching that play, I don't know how he didn't.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it doesn't make any sense, so.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm more blessed about that bus.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, he looks even quicker and faster than he did, which is, it doesn't make sense to me either.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm confused honestly, but I love, I'm all for me too.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's totally changed my expectations for him early in the season.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I was fully prepared for a slower start, which I, he's coming off this injury, like, let's just give him a little time, but apparently he's good to go, and I'm pumped about it.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm excited.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: The only, the only caveat to that is I remember one of my guys told me a stat about the Browns offense of line.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: I guess we're the only team in NFL history to revamp an entire offense of line on one off season.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know the bears did it last year, but it might, maybe it was just four out of the five or something like that.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're only seeing that has only done every single process.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we've talked a ton on this podcast about the offensive line.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, we get excited for the prospects for the season.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_02]: But then it's almost like we got to rewind or quit ground ourselves in the fact that this, we don't know.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: The biggest, Justin said last night in the live show, he's like, I am scared as hell about this offensive line.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_02]: Because we just don't know.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we on paper, it looks good, you know, we got guys who we think can play and do certain things well.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_02]: They've never played together.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: They don't have any chemistry, camaraderie, rapport whatsoever.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: So it's how quickly can that get up to speed.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to be a big deal.

- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: uh... my guess is about four to six weeks especially going against that first front seven with the jacks not saying it's gonna be horrible not that but that goes back to why we have our receivers being able to win in quick game because if we did it if we only just had Jerry Judy like last year it'd be tough
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: because we it only be him if they shut down him.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: She got her off and him, but he can't do everything every place.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: So it'll balance out.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: They'll take some, uh, some, uh, pressure away from whoever the quarterback is and offensive line.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: They just got to just keep improving every single week.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's really what it is.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I'm expecting, you know, penalties, you know, some frustrating penalties in the early part of the season is these guys get up to speed with each other, but like you said as long as it's improving week to week and and we see that then that'll be a that'll be good.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's I'm excited for this season.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think that it could be a lot of fun.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: Some people, although actually a lot of people think we're going to be really bad, but I don't really see it, especially with the schedule and just, we already know our defense should be good.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not a number top three, but they should still be a top 10 unit.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: And then you got the improvement on the offense.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: I still don't think people understand having that type of receiver court that we have can just elevate your entire offense.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe from being
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: People don't understand how crazy that is, how much that can elevate your offense.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm the talent they brought in here, and again, I know it's all young, but it's really good for the future of this team.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_02]: And we've seen young guys rookie receivers come into the NFL and you know, really start to make their stamp on an offense, part way through the season, second half of the season.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mean, Harold Fanon was a rookie, a 21 year old rookie freaking tight end out of the Mac.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, like, these are some good players we have.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's different, I don't understand his grown man's strength.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: He responded to play.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: He looked back a five-year vet.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just like, this is a rookie.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't believe it.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, you're dragging four or five players.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_01]: They're almost every player.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't saying.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: We said every week, like if you need seven yards to the sticks, hit him at four and he'll get you five more.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like you don't have to worry about it.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's insane.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: I love Darrell Finnich.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_02]: He's probably my favorite player right now on the team.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: I just...
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you, but here's the thing that, well this is just like kind of my analysis based on just everything coming together as an offense.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think it will be so balanced.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think people are putting a lot of pressure on what he may do this year as far as like, oh, he's going to have like nine hundred yards with thousand yards.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: We got to remember.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: We're so stacked in the receiver room, we're towards hot paving now.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: Because now we got to go to bond, we got to go to uh, Judy, we got to go to KC and Denzel.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: And then now we have Joe Royer that can definitely do something
- 45:23[SPEAKER_01]: He may not have as much yards as he had last year could be more touchdowns, which is okay.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: But he may have a little bit less yards, and that's not a bad thing if everyone else is doing their job.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll see, but this is my kind of analysis on that.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: No, I mean, you got you have a pie, and you've got more people eating out of that pie now.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's...
- 45:44[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't mean he's getting worse or not doing as well.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like you said, there's more options now.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: And speaking of the other option that I wanted to talk to you about Joe Royer, you just said his name again, talk to me about Joe Royer.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: He's a dog.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a dog.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: He catches everything.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: He really is great routes.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, one of my guys, he got me, he put me on to him in a Cybers Island
- 46:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to say him, but he's he's got to hit him.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: He can run Rouse, he can catch the football, he does what he does and putting him next to Fanon.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't believe we got him, but that could be a duel.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: But again, at the same time, like you just said, we have a pie, you only have one football, but the fact that you have that threat and the 12 personnel is just crazy.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: I love what he brings, and they also, him and Fanon compliment each other well as again.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I love what he can do and what he brings at his football team, honestly.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and you know, you just mentioned Allen and you had a car and I'll take right one of your spaces.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I know they don't and he doesn't play for the those guys don't play for Cleveland or anything, but what was that like talking to those guys?
- 47:02[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, yes, Cyrus.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's, uh, obviously just based on his hair and him talk and his mentality.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted him on the Browns because we need, we need that type of doll.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: We needed it.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: So, and just watching his film, he doesn't drop football as well.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think he only had one drop this past year, let his conference and touchdowns.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he was a super down-earth guy, loves football, knows football, understands it at an extreme level of just detail.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: I love it, and then Carnell talking to him was also insane because you got some insight on certain plays that they had.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he broke down a play where him, Brian Harlin and Jeremiah, they kind of just like, like drew up a play and he's
- 47:49[SPEAKER_01]: So here in him talk football, he's so smart and I haven't, there's no way he doesn't panic.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't know where he's going to be.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be a guy.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_01]: He catches everything.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think he has like 10 and a half inch hands as well, which I didn't even know that, which is insane.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that's bigger than no BJ.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: So talking to those guys was just,
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: It was a good experience just hearing them talk football, especially just being going that high in the draft as well.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: Because I didn't know he's going to go top four.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking maybe top six to 10, but being able to have a top four guy and you just talk football with him, especially at a receiver position and I'm able to understand what he's saying.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: It was a great experience.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm not sure if you've seen it, too.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think he said on a podcast that he said that if if the ties didn't get him, he thought he was coming to Cleveland.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder I obviously we didn't get a chance to find out if the people were going to take him or pass, but.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's your felt like it at times like we needed that top dog receiver and he was my wide receiver one.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure he was yours right in the class.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_02]: And people, oh, you're in Ohio State home or blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yes, I love Ohio State.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's my team.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's my school.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_02]: But, uh, name me a guy for how to that school that hasn't paned out.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: I, in past 10 years, really can't, so, yeah, I, I think it was possible he would have landed here because for him to even say that I was like, that's interesting because it was leaning towards it once the car and those took Jeremiah love, it kind of messed the entire draft up.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: So, we'll never know, but I'm kind of leaning towards, he probably would have been a brown.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, looking back on the draft now, I'm very happy that we were able to get Spencer Fano where we did.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_02]: We were able to trade back, collect a couple of extra picks, still get him, and then still get conception and Boston.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I would change that.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_02]: As much as I wanted Cardinal Tate, I think having those three guys on this rebuilding roster, I think that's crucial.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: You get more guys, you get more guys, and their quality guys too, so.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_01]: And then not the mention, you still got EMW.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: I just, you don't want to change it, but yeah, it's crazy how that draft and how I love it.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it really is.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I appreciate your time here.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_02]: I got one last thing, I mean, if you don't really want to dive into it, we don't have to, but I'm just curious your opinion on the quarterback situation.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's the biggest topic.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_02]: you know talking about the bread and you know it's not just because of who's involved it's because it's the most important position in the sport you know if you don't have a competent quarterback leading the offense none of the other pieces matter as much because they just can't do what they can do at a high level so who do you think should be the QB one who do you think will be all that kind of stuff?
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: who I think should be the quarterback.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, I want Shador to be the guy because everyone knows whether you hate him or you like him or just whatever.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_01]: If Shador is the guy, and he turns out to be the guy for the next 10 to 15 years, that makes the Browns jobs so much easier.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_01]: Because now, first round, you can go get a right tackle or you can go get a corner.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to get a quarterback with the first pick you have or trade up, trade asses for that.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_01]: You want Shador to beat a guy, but as a Browns fan, if the Sean Watson does star and he does beat out Shador.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: You still want him to do well, but the only tricky part is,
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: if he if he goes to the playoffs of the Sean looks like he's good like he's back I get what's to down 24 where do you go from there?
- 51:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's my only question.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_01]: Do you Pam and he's only played one healthy season or I or does he do we let him go and now we just go back to Shadore like at this point we talk about legendary right?
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: Shadore being legendary
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't let them more, honestly, because it's a new era, you know, uh, he's a good, he's a good guy, uh, people should just love who he is as a person, I mean, you can, you can hate, and hate what he does or whatever, but he's, he's overall just a good guy from what I've said what we've seen and what we've heard.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, who do I want, I want Shador, but I'm starting to lean towards, they might put the Sean Watson out there, but ultimately we'll seek.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we will.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, training camp is kicking off.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_02]: By the time this comes out tomorrow, afternoon, I think tomorrow's one rookie's report.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_02]: So training camp will be underway.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_02]: And then next was at the 28th, whatever day that is, Tuesday, Wednesday, everybody's there.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: So interesting.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, rookie's report tomorrow?
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, the 23rd.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: That is, we're in full boss season.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: This is great.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, this, I'll tell you what, this summer break.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_02]: I hate it.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_02]: I hate this summer because there's nothing.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_02]: There's no, like news.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, well, I want to keep creating content, but
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing's happening.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's been tough for you guys to create something like this.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_01]: But you guys are doing what you can, though, so yeah, absolutely.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we find new ways to do different things and keep things interesting.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then, obviously, just reaching out and talking to people like yourself who you've got a very special knowledge about why receivers that I really wanted to get on this show to, you know,
- 53:26[SPEAKER_02]: give to the audience and everything to hear from you because, again, you're work, very impressive, everything you do online and breaking this stuff down with your receiver breakdowns and you're training and everything, it's really cool.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate that.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: I try to do my best now.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm learning to tell people all the time, I do not know anything.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_01]: You can even say I don't know a lot.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: But I've had all the willingness to learn everything I can from everyone I meet and everyone I talk to.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the key, I believe.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's exactly what I do, too.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, I don't know that much, but I'm not afraid to try and put it out there.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_02]: And if I'm wrong, I'll just say, hey, I was wrong.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_02]: Here's why.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_02]: And let's move on.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's the way I got to go.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's how you grow and that's how you get better.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I love it.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_02]: So any aspiring content creators out there, there's a little bit for you guys.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: So Cam, you're the man.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for joining me here today and talking about these receivers.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: Just the Browns overall helping to, you know, shed some light on why there's optimism for this team and for the offense, specifically something that hasn't been very optimistic in the last few years.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I can't, I'm excited.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, you got four guys at this top heavy.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_01]: You may not have a wide receiver one, but that's not particularly a bad thing.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, no, I agree with you 100%.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_02]: So, Kim Boyd, everybody, thanks again.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_02]: Go follow him, route universe nine on X, on Instagram.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_02]: Is there anywhere else people should be following you or looking you up?
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: You said it right there as you said it perfectly.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.

- 55:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know it.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_02]: Who man can freaking white what a great what a great interview a great conversation.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_02]: I
- 55:19[SPEAKER_02]: Right guy, I mean, the knowledge, the knowledge, the expertise, the attention to detail, just specifically at the wider receiver position or pass catching in general, Kim knows his stuff.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm very excited.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, you guys can tell that I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with him and definitely want to have him back on the show as, you know, maybe training camp preseason gets underway later this summer, definitely once the season starts to kind of evaluate the wider
- 55:47[SPEAKER_02]: in real game situations.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_02]: after a couple weeks of the season and see how things really get going.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_02]: But thanks again, Kim White, joining me today, go follow him on X and Instagram, like we said, but again, it's route universe nine, the number nine on X and Instagram, just phenomenal information, great insight and you will learn definitely more than what you know just by following cam.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_02]: So go check him out again, guys.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for tuning in to another episode here.

- 56:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, OTA is a mini camper great, like that's fun.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's a good time, but again, it's a lot of installation.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's a lot of bringing in, even if it's not a new coaching staff.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, still got a ton of new players every season coming into the team that got to get acclimated and up to speed with everything.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_02]: So that's what the spring program is all about and it's over.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_02]: Now, rubber hits the road, pads come on shortly after training camp starts and we start to get some real answers to the real questions that we have about this team and about this roster, this coaching staff,
