- 0:00Very broadcast radio, The station that's giving veterans a
- 0:04voice. Find us on the web at MB.
- 0:07Radio dot web. Think of all that time, every
- 0:12wait in the winter, all those hours no one else.
- 0:17Think of all that time. Think of every Saturday night in
- 0:20the summer, Every wait in the mornings on the levee, late
- 0:24nights in the film, bus rides to playoff games, every bump in the
- 0:30road, every moment of ecstasy, every moment of doubt, years
- 0:38wondering is it all worth it? It's all led to this.
- 0:50It's a 60 minute drive for a 60 minute game.
- 0:57After all the miles we've traveled, we're almost there
- 1:02after all the hours. We've worked.
- 1:04One more can make us legends after all that time.
- 1:12This is our time. Opinions expressed in this
- 2:14program are those of the speakers and do not necessarily
- 2:19reflect the views or positions of any entities they represent.
- 3:28OK, I don't know why it does that.
- 3:29I've had issues all week. Nonetheless, welcome in to
- 3:31Inside the Hoosier Mind, brought to you in part by military
- 3:34broadcast radio, helping give veterans a voice, helping teach
- 3:36them how to podcast, and most importantly, letting veterans
- 3:38voices be heard. Appreciate everybody tuning in.
- 3:40Hopefully this stays through. There's a little bit of storms
- 3:42going through Indiana right now. Lost power for only like 30
- 3:47seconds, but still like reset minor and everything.
- 3:49So hopefully that stays true and stays the way we are.
- 3:52We already got MJ in the comments saying we are.
- 3:54For anybody who doesn't know, MJ is a massive Penn State fans and
- 3:57she likes to she likes to remind me of that and I like to, you
- 3:59know, poke fun at her a little bit and what not.
- 4:01Of course, we got Jay from ASAP joining in as well.
- 4:05And then we got into the Weeds podcast hosted by Laura and
- 4:08Amber both. So if you like anything sci-fi,
- 4:10creepy, or honestly, you just like the tea for a lot of the
- 4:13social drama, those two ladies are the ones that you want to go
- 4:16to for all of that. But nonetheless, though, I have
- 4:19a repeat guest that's a special guy coming back on to the
- 4:22podcast today by a gentleman by the name of Jackson, who is a
- 4:25huge Packers fan as well as a South Carolina Gamecocks fan
- 4:31who's going to be joining. We're going to be discussing a
- 4:32little bit about his Packers, how he feels about the Matthew
- 4:36Golden draft, how he feels about Jordan Love, if he's still the
- 4:40guy or not, how Jackson feels about the college football play
- 4:43offs expanding. And of course, Jackson's former
- 4:45quarterback Aaron Rodgers and if he will ever sign with the
- 4:49Pittsburgh Steelers because he's somewhat of a drama queen.
- 4:52We've also got Charles in here. He's the husband of Amber and
- 4:57Laura's dad, a big supporter of, I'm assuming of end of the Weeds
- 5:00podcast. Also in here saying I hear her
- 5:04husband's creepy. I haven't I haven't heard that
- 5:07one. I have not heard that you're
- 5:08creepy good Sir. I've heard I've heard nothing
- 5:10good but good things. I've heard you're also
- 5:12incredibly intelligent. So I mean, you're, you're good
- 5:16at my book so far at least. But nonetheless, with all that
- 5:19being said, let us go ahead and get Jackson in here.
- 5:23The interview of the week is brought to you by Jersey Mike's,
- 5:28a sub above. Jackson, welcome in, good Sir.
- 5:33How are you? It has.
- 5:34It has been a hot minute. I'm doing good man.
- 5:37How about yourself? Pretty good, pretty good.
- 5:40So, so let's just jump right into it, man.
- 5:42We'll we'll jump into a little bit with college first, 'cause
- 5:45there, I know there's a little bit to talk about there, but
- 5:47there's not a whole lot. They already, they kind of
- 5:50already talked about this when they first did the playoff
- 5:53expansion, when they expanded the teams to 12 this past
- 5:57season, they said that they were going to do this for the 2024
- 6:00and the 2025 season and then potentially in 2026 they were
- 6:04going to have the option to expand it out to 14 teams.
- 6:07Now we're hearing a little bit of rumors that it might be 16
- 6:10teams that we could expand out to.
- 6:13So realistically, about the top third of your top 25 or 2/3 of
- 6:19your top 25 are potentially going to be eligible to make a
- 6:23playoff run. And it also leaves more room for
- 6:25error like you could have a three to four loss team now in
- 6:29the playoffs as a result. So, so I kind of got 2 questions
- 6:32for you and I'll, I'll ask the first one, then we'll then we'll
- 6:35jump into the second one. Do you like the idea of them
- 6:39expanding it out past 12 or do you kind of already think 12
- 6:42might be a bit too much just from what we've seen this past
- 6:45season? I mean, well, you know,
- 6:48personally I think 14 or 16 would be would have been great
- 6:53this past season because. Gamecocks would have gotten as
- 6:59they finished as hot as they did.
- 7:01Yeah, I don't know. I think it's really fine either
- 7:04way. I think 12 seems like a good
- 7:06number to me, but I know as an SEC fan, I think I'm supposed to
- 7:10root for the more more teams. I know the big 10 and SEC are
- 7:14big time pushing for 16. I think 12th or 16 seems like a
- 7:20lot just in terms of valuing regular season games.
- 7:25But also the playoffs were really fun most of them.
- 7:29So I I'm all for more more football, so either way is good
- 7:34for me. Right.
- 7:36Well, that that kind of leads into the to the second part of
- 7:38my question because, you know, like, like you pointed out how
- 7:41they had been expanded. South Carolina, Ole Miss and
- 7:44Alabama were, you know, one of the three teams left that they
- 7:47were, you know, constantly debating on all right, should
- 7:49they be in the playoffs and should they potentially replace
- 7:53either SMU, Clemson, whoever was going to come out of the ACC And
- 7:59it ultimately ended up, believe it or not, they they kept SMU
- 8:03in. I thought for sure they were
- 8:04going to boot SMU out. See, you know, the, but my
- 8:10second question was going to be, do you think they were primarily
- 8:12doing this mostly for Alabama? Because if you remember when
- 8:17that schedule first dropped, Alabama was in and myself
- 8:22included, I was like, there there's absolutely no reason for
- 8:25it. Now, of course, all the Alabama
- 8:28Crimson Tide fans that have accumulated over the years
- 8:30through, you know, due to their past success and whatnot are
- 8:32like, ah, you know, Roll Tide. We love the taste of your tears,
- 8:36like all this crap, but but realistically, it's like, OK,
- 8:40well, it's hard to make an argument when you lose to a
- 8:42really bad Oklahoma team this year.
- 8:44You lose to a you get like destroyed actually by Oklahoma.
- 8:48You get blown out by Vandy to to boot, and you can't sit here and
- 8:53say, oh, well, if the Tide get in, Tide got in, they weren't
- 8:56going to do anything. But it was also going to be crap
- 8:59because they were going to hand the Tide probably the easiest
- 9:02path in the playoffs. Like if they if they want to go
- 9:05through the gauntlet, yeah, sure, Alabama can go in as much
- 9:07as they want, but they weren't going to do that.
- 9:10Do you think that's part of why they're expanding it?
- 9:14I think it probably is. I think it's really just the SEC
- 9:17in general. I mean, I think those are three
- 9:20like really good teams, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Alabama
- 9:23that got left out. And I think it's just AI think
- 9:31it's a definitely pandering to the big conferences and the big
- 9:3410 as well, because those teams, they do play a a gauntlet just
- 9:39in the regular season. You know, I can't remember a
- 9:42time where South Carolina hasn't had a top 10 schedule and you
- 9:47know, a team like SMU played two decent teams and lost.
- 9:51So I think the more and you're definitely pandering to those
- 9:56because they want those big markets in.
- 9:59Yeah, yeah. And for anybody who doesn't know
- 10:02or anybody who hasn't paid as much of attention.
- 10:04So for the 16 team playoff, if I remember correctly and correct
- 10:08me on my math, Jackson, if I'm wrong, the Big 10 wants 4
- 10:11automatic bids, the SEC wants 4 automatic bids.
- 10:16So now we've got 8. They want to offer the Big 12,
- 10:19two, they want to offer the ACC 2.
- 10:22So then that would make up 12. So that would lead basically 4
- 10:26spots left. We're going to assume one of
- 10:29those is going to be Notre Dame because at least in the current
- 10:32format, Notre Dame kind of all but has their kind of built in
- 10:37as far as being able to be in the play offs, barring them
- 10:40having just a disaster of a season type of thing.
- 10:43So realistically you've got three spots left that's kind of
- 10:48open and that's if they kind of continue what they did with this
- 10:51one of whoever is the most, you know, winning Power 5 or not
- 10:55power Group of Five conference champion left, they would get a
- 11:01spot. So then you kind of have two
- 11:02freebies leftover from I'm assuming any one of the Power 4
- 11:06conferences left at that point. What like, like do you kind of
- 11:11think that's fair? I don't know if fair's the right
- 11:16word, but it makes sense. You know, they control so much
- 11:21right now just in terms of revenue, and they have the,
- 11:26generally speaking, the better teams.
- 11:28Like, I think it makes sense. I think my favorite part about
- 11:32the new stuff is the reseeding. I like the top four teams.
- 11:38Just being the top four teams and not getting buys.
- 11:42I think that's probably the best part of it.
- 11:44I think that makes a lot of sense.
- 11:46Yeah. And, and that was kind of one of
- 11:48the things too that I, that, and it's funny because I ended up
- 11:52working out this past playoffs. It was like all the lower teams
- 11:56basically got eliminated. Ohio State was like the last
- 11:58basically team as far as like low seeding goes.
- 12:01And they had to go on the road for all of them but one.
- 12:05So it's funny how that kind of worked out.
- 12:06But I, I am kind of a fan of it because it's one of those if
- 12:10you're good enough to be one of the top four teams in college
- 12:12football and then realistically you don't even get to host a
- 12:17playoff game. Like it's kind of a smack in the
- 12:18face. It's like, well, you know, yeah,
- 12:20it'd be cool because I mean, you got to think, think of all the
- 12:23money that they're kind of missing out on whenever they do
- 12:26that. And they're not, they're not
- 12:28capitalizing on it from such an like financial standpoint of,
- 12:32yeah, if it's say, you know, let's say it's South Carolina
- 12:36and, you know, let's say it's Clemson rolls in.
- 12:39So you get that. You get the Palmetto Series
- 12:41twice in one season and depending on how the first match
- 12:45up goes, maybe it's a total revenge thing and you know, the,
- 12:48the momentum completely swings. So I, I don't necessarily think
- 12:52it's a bad thing. One of the things I did want to
- 12:55get your thoughts on real quick before we, before we change
- 12:57topics. I had a buddy and I talk about
- 13:00this before because I feel like now a lot of the bowl games are
- 13:04just they're, they're not what they used to be.
- 13:06They're kind of they're kind of trash because now for a lot of
- 13:09guys, the bowl games, they don't mean much of anything.
- 13:11Usually it's you know, teams that they've missed out on the
- 13:14play offs. It's kind of their last chance
- 13:16to play type thing. A lot of your juniors that may,
- 13:20may or may not be moving on into the NFL, even your seniors and
- 13:23whatnot, they may or may not play in it.
- 13:26They may also be trying to get ready to move on to the next
- 13:28level and whatnot. Or if you're going to enter the
- 13:30transfer portal, you may or may not play.
- 13:31So we don't necessarily get the best of those teams for like
- 13:36better matchups and what they could be.
- 13:38My thought is maybe make some of these like big time matchups,
- 13:42especially early in the season when you have a lot more of the
- 13:44out of conference matchups, you know, going off.
- 13:47Make those bowl games like this upcoming season.
- 13:50Obviously you've got, you know, Texas versus Ohio State.
- 13:53You know, you can't tell me you couldn't make that, you know,
- 13:56like, I don't know, like the Pop Tart bowl or, or just something
- 14:00or just something like that because it's OK.
- 14:03It's a it's a big brand. It's a big name.
- 14:05More people are going to watch it now at the beginning of the
- 14:08season especially than now that it's going to be back rather
- 14:11than kind of at the end. It's like, well, if you say
- 14:15you're a fan of like Kansas State, Kansas State doesn't get
- 14:17in the play offs. Like, yeah, they're going to
- 14:20play a bowl game, but doesn't really matter.
- 14:22Season's kind of over. It's not it's not really for
- 14:24anything at that point. But do you do you think they
- 14:27should do something like that? Because again, I feel like they
- 14:29could get more money from that If they do like a Chick-fil-A
- 14:32bowl for like LSU and Clemson. It's like you're missing out on
- 14:35a ton of money if you do that. Actually like I haven't thought
- 14:39about that, but I think that is like that makes sense because
- 14:42especially like the companies that are sponsoring and that's a
- 14:45lot more money from them because those games definitely do matter
- 14:50more like week, I think it's week 1, Texas, Ohio State is
- 14:54going to matter a lot more than week 16.
- 14:58I don't know, Duke versus whoever.
- 15:03So I think that actually is a cool idea that maybe could
- 15:06start. They could start implementing
- 15:08soon. I think so.
- 15:10I think so. But we will take one quick
- 15:12commercial break when we come back, we'll dive into the NFL.
- 15:15We'll dive into Jackson's Packers, the fact that they
- 15:17finally draft a wide receiver for the first time in like 20
- 15:20years and if Jordan loves the guy or not.
- 15:23So when we come back. Tune into Clado's cacophony of
- 15:28sound every Saturday night from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM Eastern on
- 15:33military broadcast radio at MB Radio dot US or on Twitch at DJ
- 15:39under score. Clado MBR giving veterans a
- 15:44voice. All right, welcome into in back
- 16:01into inside the Hoosier mine brought to you in part by
- 16:04military broadcast radio helping give veterans a voice back here
- 16:07with Jackson to discuss his team, the Packers.
- 16:10So they did something that, you know, I think a lot of Packers
- 16:13fans I think wanted years ago when you had much bigger names
- 16:18out there on the on the draft boards and whatnot.
- 16:21As far as drafting a wide receiver for the first time in
- 16:26forever out of Texas, Matthew Golden had a pretty decent,
- 16:31pretty decent career. He played two years at Houston,
- 16:34played about 20 games. Yeah, played 20 games, came out
- 16:38of Houston 13 touchdowns, just shy of 1000 yards between the
- 16:43two years. And then Texas has a breakout
- 16:45season, played in 16 games, had again just under 1000 yards
- 16:50receiving and had nine touchdowns.
- 16:53It was a pretty big factor in the kick return game as well,
- 16:55but didn't have any kick returns for touchdowns.
- 16:59First wide receiver selected by the Packers since Javon Walker
- 17:02in 2022. So it's been 23 years since the
- 17:05Packers drafted a wide receiver. So, Jackson, just give me your
- 17:09first thoughts. Is this one of those?
- 17:12You're happy that they did it, But are you like, kind of
- 17:15frustrated? It took them 23 years to decide.
- 17:18OK, yeah. Now we'll now we'll drop the guy
- 17:20in the first round. Now we'll give our quarterback,
- 17:22whoever it is, a first round talent wide receiver, at least
- 17:27from face value. Well, first of all, can we talk
- 17:30about how electric the announcement was with Mark
- 17:33Murphy going up there, getting the.
- 17:36I didn't know he was such a showman.
- 17:37Yeah, he really played the crowd.
- 17:41But I love the pic and I don't really hold anything against
- 17:46them from the past because they wanted some of them like they
- 17:49really liked Jigba, they really liked IU and they really liked
- 17:54Jefferson. They just the draft board didn't
- 17:56fall that way. So I'm not like super, you know,
- 18:01whatever, it's in the past now. But As for Matthew Golden, I'm
- 18:06I'm really excited about what he can bring to the team.
- 18:09Yeah, and, and it's kind of interesting too, because he it,
- 18:14it's funny 'cause if you look at him kind of throughout the
- 18:17season and I, I don't know how much Texas you watch this year,
- 18:21especially with them being in, being in the SEC for the first
- 18:24year, this year, I watched a lot of them and I felt like it was
- 18:27Isaiah Bond was #1 and then kind of Golden was #2 but Bond kind
- 18:32of had a shaky, injury riddled year this year.
- 18:35And so Golden kind of had to step up and he did.
- 18:37And he stepped up in a pretty phenomenal way.
- 18:40And here Golden is drafted first round while Bond is actually
- 18:44undrafted and hasn't even been signed to anybody yet, which is
- 18:48kind of surprising. Do you feel like at least from
- 18:51what you've seen? And I again, I don't know how
- 18:54many highlights or how much you watched of him.
- 18:56Do you feel like he was worth it or do you feel like, yeah, you
- 19:00kind of wish they would have gone for somebody else, 'cause I
- 19:02mean, there there's still a lot of very solid wide receivers,
- 19:06'cause I mean, this other than I would say quarterback class,
- 19:09this is a very deep draft for just about every single position
- 19:13that you can need other than quarterback.
- 19:15Definitely, yeah, I think I didn't expect it at all for
- 19:19sure. I don't think there's any other
- 19:21receivers I would have picked over him.
- 19:24I think Golden, the one thing I like about him the most is that
- 19:27he had that clutch gene. I mean, he really came through
- 19:30late in the season on that playoff run.
- 19:32Like that's when he really, I mean, he was that's where he
- 19:35really rose up the draft board and became a first round pick
- 19:38that in his 40 yard dash. But he really came through when
- 19:41Texas needed it the most, when Bond was out and he clearly just
- 19:46lost a step for some reason. I mean, I think he ran like a
- 19:49four or five or something like that, which was crazy.
- 19:54Some, I don't know what happened with him.
- 19:55But anyway, they needed him to step up and he did.
- 20:00And so I, I think watching the tape, I actually think he
- 20:04probably would have been a lot better.
- 20:06A lot of people say like the speed, because he ran a 429, the
- 20:09speed doesn't show up on tape. I think a lot of that is because
- 20:11Quinn Ewers just doesn't have a strong arm.
- 20:14Yeah, really. I really think he just played in
- 20:17the system with a, a, a weaker armed quarterback and just
- 20:22couldn't take the top off like he needed to or like he can, I
- 20:25suppose. So I, I think, I think he was a
- 20:28is a good pick and I think he was worthy of a first round
- 20:30selection. Yeah, that and I will say not to
- 20:34super derail it, but that that was kind of one of the things
- 20:36that I I thought about when I looked at this quarterback draft
- 20:39class this season. It was like to to meet Cam Ward
- 20:43was undeniably like the the best quarterback in this class.
- 20:46But I'll say too, if you would have put him in like last year's
- 20:50draft class, he'd he'd maybe break the top ten.
- 20:54Like like realistically, he'd maybe just break the top ten.
- 20:58And to me that just kind of shows the difference in the
- 21:01level of quarterbacks that we had coming into the draft
- 21:04season. You know, I liked Quinn.
- 21:06I think Quinn had a lot of injury issues.
- 21:08Like you said, he doesn't really have a strong arm.
- 21:11He kind of had, to me, Quinn didn't really have that it
- 21:14factor, if you know what I mean. Like he had the benefit of.
- 21:17Yeah. Texas, I mean, you look at it
- 21:19last year, you know, they produced two top, top receivers
- 21:24in Worthy and Donnie Mitchell. And then this year you have
- 21:27Golden and you have Bond and then they have two more
- 21:30receivers kind of behind that. And plus you had what he had
- 21:33like 5 running backs that have all been drafted and are a part
- 21:37of teams right now. So it's like it's kind of hard
- 21:39for Quinn not to be successful when you had all.
- 21:42That. Yeah.
- 21:44And even then it's like how successful really were you like
- 21:48as a whole type of thing? So I mean, I, I didn't view him
- 21:52as a franchise guy. I'll be honest, I did not view
- 21:55Chadur as a franchise guy. I know a lot of people kind of
- 21:59went crazy about, I know Mel Kiper went crazy about that in
- 22:02particular, having his whole like meltdown.
- 22:04Oh my gosh. Dude went like 13 and 11 at
- 22:08Colorado. Now, don't get it twisted.
- 22:09He had a great career at Jackson State.
- 22:11Like he went, he went off there. But look at the level of talent
- 22:15you were playing with. And again, you also had Travis
- 22:17Hunter there the entire time. You kind of move up to Colorado,
- 22:21you move up to bigger, a little bit better opponents.
- 22:23Like you look at the Oregon game, Colorado got absolutely
- 22:26destroyed in that. So it's like I don't, I didn't
- 22:31really see Shadour as kind of that leader, even if it was one
- 22:34of those like just like just from the wins column and
- 22:37whatnot. Like, I don't expect you to go
- 22:38out and always win a national title or a Heisman or even
- 22:41compete, But it's like you never competed for the PAC 12.
- 22:44You never competed for the Big 12.
- 22:46You weren't even like close part of the time you'd throw
- 22:49teammates under the bus. You know, he even did a
- 22:51interview, well, kind of an interview, but more of a
- 22:53one-on-one trash talking session with Kim Ward so that he didn't
- 22:57have a running game last year. And I'm like, that's probably
- 23:00why you fell a little bit rather like I don't really have the
- 23:03intangibles. But even the other quarterbacks,
- 23:07like I didn't care really for Dylan Gabriel, like I thought he
- 23:10would be good for Oregon. I didn't view him as like an NFL
- 23:12starting quarterback. Kind of same for Will Howard.
- 23:15I'll be honest, I was really down on Will Howard.
- 23:17I was like, Nah, he won't lead them to a title.
- 23:19There's there's no flipping way. Sure enough wins.
- 23:21Damn title. I was like, oh, wow, sorry, Will
- 23:25not saying you're, I'm still not going to say you're an NFL
- 23:27caliber guy, but I mean, hey, good.
- 23:30Good for you, man, good for you. It's like he's a perfect
- 23:32stealer. That's such a stealer's you
- 23:34pick. Yeah, but but you know, it's
- 23:36funny too because you watch him at least I don't know if you
- 23:39follow him on TikTok, but like Jon Gruden has kind of like with
- 23:43like a pretty good following and whatnot.
- 23:45Like to watch will break it down.
- 23:47I'm like, OK, well, I'm going to be honest.
- 23:49You at least know game better than like Jackson Dart because I
- 23:53feel like that's another game benefited from like an extremely
- 23:57talented team and just a phenomenal offensive system with
- 24:01Lane Kiffin and whatnot. It's like, what did you really
- 24:05do with it though? He is so hard to read because I
- 24:08think he actually does have like some really solid hard talent.
- 24:11But if you look at his like passive, I want to say like 70%
- 24:15role, like design screens, RPO behind the line of scrimmage,
- 24:20like it was all just manufactured.
- 24:24So I really have no idea how he's going to translate.
- 24:27Yeah, and somebody even pointed out too, if you look at the lot
- 24:29of the big games that he played, that old miss lost in,
- 24:32especially when they face like tough opponents, he didn't play
- 24:35well. I mean, they lost to LSU, they
- 24:38ended up beating Georgia. But I mean, it wasn't like he
- 24:40did it in the in the best looking way possible.
- 24:43It was like, it's a little rough that you even got that win
- 24:46there, buddy. So kind of back to to Golden
- 24:51though, how do you feel the heat elevates this Packers offense
- 24:55'cause they already have, you know, they have a lot of guys
- 24:57that they're not first round picks, but they, they've been
- 25:00able to make a name for themselves.
- 25:02Cause you've got, you've got Christian Watson, you've got
- 25:05Jaden Reed, you've got Romeo Dubes.
- 25:07So I mean, those are realistically your top three
- 25:10guys right there. So I mean, just kind of looking
- 25:13at it outside in not seeing how he doesn't practice or on the
- 25:17field so far, Golden's looking like #4 as far as on the, on the
- 25:22depth chart goes, barring him maybe beating anybody out.
- 25:24I even saw a potential report that they see Jaden read as the
- 25:28number one option on the Packers.
- 25:30And I was like, I to me, I thought that was Watson and it
- 25:33might just be because he's more of like that speed demon.
- 25:36He just goes down the field, you just throw it and he's he's
- 25:38going to be down there to catch it type thing.
- 25:40But what's what's your thoughts on it?
- 25:42Well, the thing with Watson is he tore his ACL late last year,
- 25:47so he's probably not coming back until November at the earliest.
- 25:53And so I think that's one of when you look at the receiver
- 25:55room and when you look at Matt, what Matt Lafor does is you
- 25:58really need to replace that speed.
- 26:01You know, like Romeo Dobbs, Gray green Reed is good, but none of
- 26:04them are down the field vertical stretchers.
- 26:08So I think that's probably the role golden plays.
- 26:10I think he probably comes in and is immediately the Z, maybe the
- 26:14XI think really the thing I like is that he has he's a very
- 26:20natural pass catcher is what everyone describes him as.
- 26:23Like he's had some drops, but it ever it doesn't look like he he
- 26:27knows how to do it. And like that was the biggest,
- 26:30we were second in the league in drops, highest drop percentage
- 26:33in the league. And I think that really tanked
- 26:37Jordan's stats. I think that really just hurt
- 26:39the team a lot. And so you needed someone to
- 26:41come in and be a a go to guy. I also think just him being able
- 26:48to come in and increased competition is good.
- 26:53I think they kind of needed a a kick in the butt.
- 26:55Like, hey, you aren't invincible here.
- 26:58I know we all love you. You know, the Packers fans were
- 27:01really high on the receiver room going into 2024, but they
- 27:05underperformed. And so here, you know, like
- 27:08you're, you're on the block right now.
- 27:10Right, right. And so that we'll we'll kind of
- 27:13use that to just jump into the next topic.
- 27:16So this is Jordan. This will be Jordan Love's third
- 27:19full year as a starter. And as you know, I've I've never
- 27:24really been high on the on the Jordan Love train, mainly just
- 27:27because everybody like blew it out of proportion.
- 27:30Like he he did do really well his first statistical year, like
- 27:34actually starting. I can't, I can't deny that the
- 27:36dude went, you know, 4100 yards, 32 touchdowns, 11 picks.
- 27:41You know, they went on a super, super big hot streak right there
- 27:44at the end of the season. Like he, he absolutely lit the
- 27:47league up. I can't deny that.
- 27:49But then people are coming out like, Oh my God, it's the next
- 27:52Aaron Rodgers. Like he's the next greatest
- 27:54thing like ever. He's a top five quarterback
- 27:56right now. And I'm like, did you like pump
- 27:59the brakes? Like, hold on.
- 28:01We we saw Case Keenum lead the Vikings to like 13 and 3 and
- 28:07even with like a Stefan digs Hail Mary throw took them to the
- 28:10NFC Championship. And ain't nobody sitting here
- 28:13saying Case Keenum is like a top five quarterback, like calm
- 28:16down. But much to your point, though,
- 28:19you talked about the Packers being like the second having the
- 28:23second most drops in the league last year.
- 28:26His numbers did kind of dwindle a little bit because
- 28:28realistically, kind of look at it last year was Jordan Love's
- 28:31true like rookie season. This year would be technically
- 28:34considered as sophomore as far as starting goes.
- 28:38Production was definitely down. He didn't play all 17 games.
- 28:41He went nine and six. He had just under 3400 yards.
- 28:45He had 25 touchdowns, 11 picks. Again, completion percentage,
- 28:49she's only like a percentage point less, so I'm not really
- 28:52going to heartbeat him on that. But last year though, they paid
- 28:58him like a top five quarterback, which again, to me, I feel like
- 29:02is nuts. Not saying don't sign him or
- 29:04give him like a fair deal or whatnot.
- 29:06And, you know, just kind of see, but I felt like to me that was
- 29:10really early to do. Do you feel like now with Golden
- 29:15and his things kind of change now that, again, people are
- 29:19going to kind of evaluate him a little bit more?
- 29:21Do you still feel like Jordan Love is the guy heading into
- 29:25starting year? You know, his third year now?
- 29:29Yeah, 100%. That's my guy.
- 29:31I think he definitely did not have the best year last year.
- 29:37And it might sound like an excuse, but he was hurt all
- 29:39year. Like he, he really was hurt in
- 29:41the Eagles game. And then later on he hurt his
- 29:43groin and he, he was playing hurt for the entire season
- 29:47pretty much. And it wasn't like, oh, he, he
- 29:50sucks because he's hurt and like he shouldn't be playing.
- 29:53It was like, OK, he just isn't as mobile as he should be.
- 29:57He he was definitely just off like we weren't running play
- 30:01action because he couldn't really, he just couldn't really
- 30:04run it as well as we needed him to.
- 30:07And also the drops again, just it's another excuse, but I I
- 30:11it's real, you know, so I think he definitely he's got all the
- 30:15tools. I think especially when you add
- 30:17golden and also you add Savion Williams, third or fourth round
- 30:23receiver, he is crazy. I don't know if you've watched
- 30:28any CCU games, but he like winds up as an H back 1/2 back, a full
- 30:34back. He does every he's like a devo
- 30:36type of guy. So they just figure that's just
- 30:39like a toy that was just a matte Leflore.
- 30:41Just here's a here's a toy for you to figure out how to use.
- 30:45I think all that going into 2025 is like, I think he should have
- 30:50by far the best year of his career.
- 30:53The obvious line looks solid. Josh Jacobs is still there.
- 30:56I think he's definitely still the guy and.
- 30:59I just I just kind of wondered because honestly, like when he
- 31:02when he got hurt and they put Malik Willis in, it was like,
- 31:04OK, now one of the Packers look like honestly, Malik Willis
- 31:07balled out pretty well for and that that's where I guess to me.
- 31:13And again, you you tell me what you think or you can correct me
- 31:15if I'm wrong. Like I like, don't get me wrong,
- 31:18I get it. Like, you know, you paid Jordan
- 31:21Love all this money, like Jordan Love is the starter and whatnot,
- 31:24but if you have your backup, it's just balling out and your
- 31:27starting quarterback is hurt anyway.
- 31:30The old adage, you know, you kind of roll with the hot hand
- 31:32of what you got. And I and I don't think
- 31:36realistically Malik would be the long term solution for Green
- 31:39Bay. But you know what, what's the
- 31:42harm or the foul? And like, hey, if we can get
- 31:45like a 6-7 game, you know, streak out of this kid.
- 31:47And even if he only goes, you know, five and two, four and
- 31:51three at the worst, like you're still coming out above a 500
- 31:56record, like you're still in, you know, competition, you're
- 31:59still more than likely going to make the playoffs and whatnot.
- 32:02Like, and to me, that's where I'm kind of like, why did they
- 32:05go back to love If he's hurt? Is it's like if if leak was
- 32:09doing poorly, like, ah, no, we're a second ship.
- 32:11We got to get we got to get Jordan out there like fast.
- 32:13But again, I don't know if that's a we're paying him all
- 32:16this money. So he needs to be out here kind
- 32:18of thing or what? But that that's just kind of my
- 32:21thought. I'm like.
- 32:22Trust me, I mean there were definitely Packers fans that
- 32:25were saying the same thing. There's actually a surprising
- 32:28amount of Packers fans that are just anti Jordan Love in
- 32:30general. But a lot of them were like why
- 32:34not just let Malik ride, especially if Love is banged up?
- 32:37I think it was really at the time, it was the two game
- 32:41stretch with Malik. We were playing Minnesota.
- 32:44It was the first Confra Division game.
- 32:47I just think they really wanted Jordan back for that game and so
- 32:49they kind of rushed him back. Ended up I think that game went
- 32:52pretty poorly. We think we kind of got smacked
- 32:56and I think after that it was like, why take him out now, I
- 33:00guess, or just just let him try to work through it and I think
- 33:06that was just kind of what it was.
- 33:08So. Where's the contract?
- 33:10Right. So real quick, since you alluded
- 33:12to it, I don't know if you happen to know, but I do.
- 33:14I do have to ask as a kind of a fellow Jordan love hater just
- 33:17because of again, everybody put him up on a pedestal like he's
- 33:20the greatest thing ever. And I'm like wait.
- 33:23Well, let's be clear here. You're also a Packers hater.
- 33:26I think yes, I am. But like what?
- 33:31Like what are the Packers fans saying that that that don't like
- 33:34him? Like are they kind of saying the
- 33:36same thing? Like they think they may be paid
- 33:38too early cause 'cause like I said to me, especially when I
- 33:43evaluate a lot of the quarterbacks, whenever they come
- 33:45out of the draft, it's like, OK, to me, you got three years,
- 33:48right? Like rookie year, they typically
- 33:50do really well because, again, nobody really knows what is
- 33:53their game going to look like at the next level.
- 33:55You know, can they figure it out?
- 33:56Can they do really well? They might catch some people off
- 33:59guard and kind of, you know, surprise them and whatnot.
- 34:01So I'm like, OK, rookie year's fine.
- 34:03Sophomore season, all right, Defensive coordinators, teams
- 34:06have more film on them. Like, OK, this is some of the
- 34:08tendencies that the dude tries to tend, you know, tend to do
- 34:11and whatnot. We'll kind of we'll focus and
- 34:13hone in on those. They might have a little bit of
- 34:15a sophomore slump type thing. Then third year, it's like, OK,
- 34:22everybody kind of knows your game.
- 34:24You've come in the first, you know, this is now your second
- 34:27season. Now you've kind of learned now
- 34:29you know what people have kind of figured it out.
- 34:31How have you adapted to it? You know, how do you move
- 34:33forward from it then? So I feel like the third season
- 34:36is really that kind of make or break season for a guy as far as
- 34:40starting goes of like, OK, this is going to be the starting
- 34:43quarterback or we're going to have to potentially move on.
- 34:45And to me, again, if it, if I had been like the Packers, GMI
- 34:51had a signing to like a three-year deal, pay, you know,
- 34:54pay him a fairly decent amount, I wouldn't make him like one of
- 34:57the highest paid quarterbacks ever.
- 34:59But that, that's what I would do be like, look, man, we'll, we'll
- 35:02give you 3 years to truly start kind of see where you're at.
- 35:06And if we feel really good, you know, even halfway through, you
- 35:10know, halfway through year three or whatnot, we'll, we'll start
- 35:13working as far as contract negotiations go.
- 35:16Yeah, I definitely agree with like that assessment, like the
- 35:18three-year window. I think that's probably pretty
- 35:20fair. The, the hard part with Love
- 35:24was, you know, we just had him sit.
- 35:26So we had, he started his fourth year, he had his fifth year con
- 35:30or fifth year option. It was just kind of an awkward
- 35:33timing. You kind of had to pay him.
- 35:35And unfortunately the quarterback market is, is what
- 35:38it is. And we've seen, I've, I, we see
- 35:41we saw quarterbacks worse than him get paid just like, I mean
- 35:44too much. Just got a bag, I think.
- 35:46Yeah, too. I got a bag.
- 35:49DAC is. Paid deck on massive bag.
- 35:54Always go back to the Daniel Jones.
- 35:55Contract say Daniel Jones. Hey, man, Daniel Jones, Kirk
- 36:00Cousins too, like whoever these guys agents are like they
- 36:03deserve, like if I'm DAC, Oh my gosh, I'm looking at my agent
- 36:07like, hey brother, you got me 60 million.
- 36:10Years. I'm gonna slide you like 10 mil
- 36:14just. Yeah, just.
- 36:15For. That yeah, the quarterback
- 36:17contracts are insane. But for Love, I think the the
- 36:22thing the Packers fans don't like, and I think it's really
- 36:25just comes from watching Aaron Rodgers.
- 36:28A lot of these are Aaron Rodgers.
- 36:30Like, that's where that era they grew up in, like myself, you
- 36:34never saw Aaron Rodgers put the ball in harm's way.
- 36:36Like, if it was, if you did, like, you were like, whoa, what
- 36:39just happened? Jordan Love is a gunslinger.
- 36:43Like, that man's going to throw it where whatever he wants,
- 36:45wherever he wants. So he throws a lot more picks.
- 36:48And I think it's just a culture shock to a lot of Packers fans
- 36:52going from that to Jordan Love. And I think they just are kind
- 36:55of holding him to a very high standard for someone his age.
- 37:01But that's what's funny though. So for me, like I grew up
- 37:03watching Brett Favre gunslinger who threw kind of picks.
- 37:09Everyone thought he was going to be the next Aaron Rodgers.
- 37:12He's more like Brett Favre. Right.
- 37:15And I, I think that to me is where I'm like, OK, I, I
- 37:18wouldn't mind that as much because I'm like, OK, he's got
- 37:22Brett Favre tendencies. Like you said, he's a gunslinger
- 37:24and and obviously, you know, he threw 11 picks, you know, both
- 37:27both a year that he started. So he's not necessarily, it's
- 37:31not like he's throwing, you know, 20-30 picks, You know, he,
- 37:33there is some efficiency there. But yeah, I just, I kind of
- 37:36wonder because I'm like, this is how I viewed it personally.
- 37:39And again, everybody's like, ah, you're just a hater.
- 37:41I'm like again, oh, why you're paying this man this much money?
- 37:45Yeah, one good season. This could all go to poop like
- 37:48real fast. And then y'all out a ton of
- 37:50money for this. Yeah, You know, 2 playoffs in
- 37:54this first year so far, I think it's been all right.
- 37:59This. Was a big year though.
- 38:00And realistically, you know, the, I mean, he didn't play
- 38:04great, but I mean, the Packers were the only team that gave the
- 38:06Eagles really a run, you know, last year through their, through
- 38:10their Super Bowl victory. And they won like 22 to 13.
- 38:12And you're like, wait a minute, 22 to 13.
- 38:15Like, why does, why does this look like a fairly close game?
- 38:17And Love threw like 3 picks just in that game by himself.
- 38:21Yeah, offensive line got destroyed in that game, like
- 38:25injury wise. And it was just, I mean, it got
- 38:28really rough on offense, but the defense bringing in Jeff
- 38:31Haffley, that was a huge step forward for the Packers.
- 38:36That defense really was playing lights out last.
- 38:38Year. Yeah, yeah.
- 38:42All right, so we will take a real quick break.
- 38:45We're going to play. We're going to play.
- 38:48You can't spell hero without her by I think his name's Sean
- 38:51Coffey. I know coffee is in there.
- 38:54I could be completely wrong, but we will play that.
- 38:56When we come back, we'll talk about our last topic.
- 38:57We'll talk about Aaron Rodgers and if he will sign with the
- 39:01Steelers or not as he continues to draw his long drama field
- 39:04offseason like he does every single season, as Jackson knows
- 39:07very well-being a Packers fan. When we come back, we'll dive
- 39:09into that. All right, welcome back into
- 42:11Inside the Hoosier Mind, brought to you in part by military
- 42:14broadcast radio helping give veterans a voice.
- 42:16And shout out to Coffee Anderson.
- 42:18I knew coffee was in there. I don't know why I thought of
- 42:19telling Coffee like from the Green Mile, like great, great
- 42:21movie, by the way, great actor. RIP to him.
- 42:25But shout out to Coffee Anderson for you can't spell hero without
- 42:28her. Back here with Jackson for our
- 42:30last topic of the night. We're going to talk about Aaron
- 42:33Rodgers and all the rumors has it all the signs point to he's
- 42:38going to sign with Pittsburgh. He's going to be a Steeler.
- 42:42Realistically, that's the only halfway decent spot left that
- 42:46truly needs a quarterback. They didn't they they did draft
- 42:49to do, they drafted Will Howard in the sixth round.
- 42:52But right now their quarterback room is Will Howard, Skylar
- 42:56Thompson and Mason Rudolph. So not a whole lot of hope
- 43:01there, just just to start out with.
- 43:05But Pittsburgh kind of made news this past week because they
- 43:09traded George Pickens to Dallas. So Pittsburgh kind of goes from
- 43:14you got two really big diva wide receivers and Pickens and
- 43:17Metcalf of OK, well, Sir, big dudes to throw to, you're going
- 43:21to throw to one while the other gets in a fist fight with the
- 43:23defensive back. So I mean, they're going to be
- 43:26open, but two big diva wide receivers, a potential huge diva
- 43:31in quarterback. Do you think the Pickens move
- 43:34maybe deters Rogers a little bit?
- 43:37Or again, do you think that realistically this this is kind
- 43:41of his last shot and his last place to go to?
- 43:43Because I know he wanted to go to Minnesota, funny enough,
- 43:46wanted to complete the Brett Favre villain arc.
- 43:48You know, he hated Brett Favre forever.
- 43:52Like you are following his exact footsteps to a tee.
- 43:57You know, the Vikings didn't want him.
- 43:59I know there's rumors he might try to go to the Giants, but
- 44:01again, kind of looking at the Giants and what they have,
- 44:05that's a little bit of a mess and I don't know if the Giants
- 44:08want to put up with that or not. You.
- 44:11Probably not at this point. Yeah.
- 44:14I do think it is the only option.
- 44:16The only other one that even makes any sense is the Saints
- 44:20now. Now that their car is retired, I
- 44:23guess maybe, But I think the Steelers is the only one that
- 44:29makes I didn't mean Steelers need that.
- 44:31I mean like desperately. Like they went out and did and
- 44:36got decaf and paid them a bunch of money because they want to
- 44:38win, not because they want to start Mason Rudolph.
- 44:43I think they've I would hope the Steelers have seen enough of
- 44:46Mason Rudolph. And the weird thing this time
- 44:49around is he keeps alluding to like, this big, like personal
- 44:53matter that is just taking such a big precedent in his life.
- 44:58I have no idea what that could be about.
- 45:00I don't know if he's having a kid or if he's like, I don't
- 45:04know. But there's something going on
- 45:06that's holding him up. But I do think he and ultimately
- 45:09ends up a Steeler. See, here's The funny thing.
- 45:12I don't, I don't see him having a like realistically, because at
- 45:18least with what I would say the last 7 to 8 years is when I feel
- 45:25like Aaron has really kind of come out of his shell and really
- 45:29been more of a vocal diva of I want this, I only want this.
- 45:35It's all about me. You know, I, I said it for years
- 45:38and I, I don't know if you remember in the group chats or
- 45:40not. You know, I used to say it for
- 45:41years with Green Bay. It was like he would take him to
- 45:44the one seed and they would host and then they'd lose.
- 45:48And then the very next year, he's like, Oh, I need more
- 45:49money. So then you can very then like
- 45:51the very next day he's complaining, Oh, they're not
- 45:53getting me any help from like what?
- 45:55Like what cap space do they have left?
- 45:56Dude? Like any, any cap space they
- 45:58have open, you're like, you need to pay me more money.
- 46:01But you could use that to go get like a free agent wide receiver
- 46:05like you, you could get help. No, I need more money.
- 46:08The math is not math in my guy, but.
- 46:11He was definitely getting paid a pretty penny by Green Bay for a
- 46:14while there for a long time. But but I think it's funny
- 46:18because if you remember last year, it was what, the darkness
- 46:20retreat of like, oh, am I going to retire?
- 46:22Am I not going to retire? He's doing like the whole
- 46:24Groundhog Day thing. If he sees a shadow, he's going
- 46:27to retire. And yeah, now this year it's
- 46:29like he he's been more open. He's like, yeah, I don't know if
- 46:33I want to sign yet. And it's like he he just kind of
- 46:35goes dark for a little bit, then he comes back up, then it then
- 46:38it goes away. Yeah.
- 46:40I completely forgot all about the Saints with Derek Carr
- 46:42retiring. But it again, I kind of look at
- 46:45the Saints, though. It's like you, you have a new
- 46:47head coach that's a young offensive guy.
- 46:50I don't know how well Aaron would take that.
- 46:54And realistically, you know, what do the Saints have to work
- 46:56with? Yeah, I mean, I don't know if it
- 46:58makes a lot of sense for him. You know, he he, he's probably
- 47:01got one year left. You would think he would want to
- 47:04go to a team that actually can compete.
- 47:08My thing is if he's like waiting this long, like maybe he thinks
- 47:12like he doesn't have it and if he thinks that that that's the
- 47:15case, then he should just hang it up.
- 47:18I will say with Rodgers, obviously, you know, I've always
- 47:21been a big fan of his. I think he did get a lot better
- 47:25as the year went on. Coming off that Achilles, you
- 47:28know, a 40 year old coming off an Achilles injury was never
- 47:31going to be very good once the season was basically over for
- 47:36them. Is ironically when he started
- 47:38actually playing decent, right? I think he could do something
- 47:43with the with the Steelers. I think he could probably take
- 47:45him to the playoffs and maybe just get bounced in the first.
- 47:49But I I really am interested. Like I don't really know what
- 47:52the hold up is because that's the only, it's the only place.
- 47:56Yeah, because that's kind of my thought.
- 47:58I'm like I because I get it, You don't necessarily have to be
- 48:01there for a lot of the offseason stuff, but it's like, you know,
- 48:03why not? Why not start getting the
- 48:05chemistry started now, you know, get to get to know your
- 48:08offensive line guys? You know, I know running back
- 48:10was a little bit of a question for them as and whatnot.
- 48:13I know they drafted a Caleb Johnson out of Iowa.
- 48:15Apparently they signed another big name in the backfield.
- 48:18I don't remember who it is. It it's not one of those like
- 48:22it's not like eye popping, but it was kind of a fairly big name
- 48:24that they signed. You know, they traded for DK and
- 48:28at one point had DK and George Pickens both.
- 48:30You still got Pratt, Pat Fryermuth at tight end, and
- 48:34obviously the defense is still solid.
- 48:35You know, you still got TJ Watt, you've still got Mika
- 48:37Fitzpatrick, Cam Hayward still checking along.
- 48:41You know, 40 years later, man is still still playing for the
- 48:44Steelers and whatnot. So there is a lot of potential
- 48:49there. And I don't disagree.
- 48:51I think he could very well take them potentially into the first
- 48:55round. Here's where I think he would
- 48:57struggle though, is the division that he's in with the AFC North
- 49:03'cause you know, you've got to face since he twice and albeit
- 49:08defensively since he's probably not going to do much their score
- 49:12a ton of points on you. You know, Baltimore kind of the
- 49:16same thing. They always have a tough time
- 49:18with Baltimore no matter what. And even though Cleveland is the
- 49:22Browns and is a brown show, you know they're you know, they've
- 49:27kind of split the series with Pittsburgh last couple years and
- 49:29what not as far as making it making it pesky for him.
- 49:32So it's like, you know, would he even make it as a wild card team
- 49:36type of thing? Yeah, I think he just, I think
- 49:40it's more just trusting Tomlin more than anything.
- 49:43Trust Tomlin to. He's done it with worse, really.
- 49:47Realistically, I definitely see why he wanted to go to the
- 49:51Vikings. That's a much better situation
- 49:54where you can just sling it with Kevin O'Connell and Justin
- 49:57Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Jordan Addison, Yeah.
- 50:01Now Ty Felton too. I.
- 50:03Don't know why that was the goal, but Hawkinson.
- 50:08Yeah, like it's like I said, I just think it's funny.
- 50:11He tried to complete the the Har Phil and arc.
- 50:13And even though again, I know, I know you probably saw it or
- 50:16maybe you didn't, you know, I know it might be close to any of
- 50:19your time because I remember, you know, they they kind of
- 50:22asked him, you know, how did you feel about Brett Favre and
- 50:23mentor? He's like, oh, Brett never
- 50:25taught me. Brett never taught me anything.
- 50:27Like he was so anti Brett Favre. Brett like him.
- 50:30It was. It was pretty mutual.
- 50:33And, and, and realistically, like, if you're looking at it
- 50:35from Brett's perspective, like, you know, you've been the guy,
- 50:38like you, he was what, a like seventh round pick, like third
- 50:44round pick for Atlanta, like he was super low on the depth
- 50:47chart. Atlanta didn't really play Green
- 50:49Bay trades for him. His first game is an absolute
- 50:52disaster and I think four games in he has this like massive win.
- 50:57And then he's the starter for Green Bay for, you know, almost
- 51:002 decades and, you know, sets all these records, does all this
- 51:03greatness, even gets Green Bay to Super Bowl and wins them one,
- 51:07which is something Aaron was able to do.
- 51:09But yeah, I'm just kind of sitting there and I'm like, I
- 51:12get it because it's like, I've been doing this for years and
- 51:14then you get the kid to replace me.
- 51:16Like, no, I don't. I'm not going to train my
- 51:18replacement. Like that's not happening.
- 51:20But it's the Packers way. I did it again with Love.
- 51:25They did, but I feel. They're always thinking 2 steps
- 51:27ahead. But I feel like Aaron was maybe
- 51:29a little bit more accepting of love, not like, hey, kid, let me
- 51:33take you under my wing. I feel like he's maybe a little
- 51:35bit more open. But again, if you don't like the
- 51:38guy that you know is like, hey, not training you, kid.
- 51:41Absolutely not. Why are you following in his
- 51:43footsteps? Why did you go to The Jets?
- 51:45Brett Favre went to The Jets. Don't go to The Jets, go
- 51:48anywhere. But The Jets?
- 51:49Anybody would want to go to The Jets.
- 51:51Ever. And then he's like.
- 51:53Place where quarterback's going to die.
- 51:55And so not only then are you going to have to hear all you're
- 51:58following Brett Favre's footsteps.
- 51:59You went to The Jets, now it's I want to go to the Vikings.
- 52:03There's another Green Bay Jets quarterback did that too.
- 52:06Or #4 and also went to the Vikings.
- 52:10I think he he definitely, he knew that he was well aware.
- 52:14He just wanted to do it for shits and giggles.
- 52:16Probably. Maybe.
- 52:17He did what if, what if kind of find out like him and him and
- 52:20Brett Farr were just like best Bros now.
- 52:22And he's like, you know. What I think they are like
- 52:24pretty cool and I don't know how they're like friends, but I
- 52:26think they did kind of mend the fences a little bit.
- 52:30I, I think they did, I think when I think when Farve came up
- 52:33there a couple years ago and they did the, they'd retired his
- 52:36number in his jersey and whatnot.
- 52:37I, I think I remember them saying like, Hey, you know,
- 52:40Aaron, how do you feel about, you know, Brett coming up here?
- 52:42He's like, oh, Brett, Brett and I are fine.
- 52:44Like we're, we're all good terms.
- 52:45Like everything's cool. Like no, we're getting stuff of
- 52:48Brett even though he still wanted to follow the villain arc
- 52:52which which? Makes me laugh.
- 52:55It would have been ironic. It would.
- 52:55Have been perfect. Oh yeah, I was kind of rooting
- 53:00for it, honestly. Like there and.
- 53:02And. Even if somebody, even if
- 53:05somebody who you know, I, I follow and root for debears.
- 53:09Like, there's a small part of me was like, you know, you have the
- 53:14opportunity to do the funniest thing and take the Brett Favre
- 53:17villain arc and multiply it by like 5 because Packers fans, the
- 53:22Vikings fans already don't get along if you were to come to the
- 53:25Bears. Oh my.
- 53:28God. Ultimate villain arc if you were
- 53:30to do that, man. He just doesn't need to do that.
- 53:33He's already got stake in the in the team, he doesn't need to
- 53:36play for him too. I was going to say what what
- 53:38better part be like, well, I own the Bears, so why don't I just
- 53:41be their starting quarterback? Like again, there's so many.
- 53:44Like delusion or something there and probably wasn't allowed.
- 53:47Like like as big a wrestling fans as you and I are like
- 53:50there's so many like Seth Rollins villain arc storylines
- 53:53he could have taken their. Biggest heel turn?
- 53:56Exactly. Biggest heel turn.
- 53:57But Jackson, buddy, I appreciate you coming on man, Appreciate
