- 1:31Speaker 3: I can't. I got to turn the mouth. Turn you
- 1:43Speaker 3: probably got to turn the mouth the word of the mop.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Look me come come out.
- 1:59Speaker 1: You think that, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 2: You all listening to the voice, come on dig me now,
- 2:09Speaker 2: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man,
- 2:12Speaker 2: old man, Oh Man symbolizes just one thing to me. Man,
- 2:16Speaker 2: It's just a constant remind of exactly how good God
- 2:19Speaker 2: has been to me over the years.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And I'm thanking for it too, because.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I realize every day that I wake up that I
- 2:25Speaker 2: would be nothing without Him. That everything I am, that's
- 2:29Speaker 2: any good in me, I owe to him.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Now.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Have I made some mistakes along the way, yep, bunches,
- 2:37Speaker 2: bunches and bunches. And will I continue to make mistakes
- 2:41Speaker 2: along the way?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yep?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Not as many, hopefully as I have in the past,
- 2:47Speaker 2: because a lot of stuff I know better now. But
- 2:51Speaker 2: you're still going to make mistakes now, you know, Hopefully
- 2:56Speaker 2: I've limited the amount of intentional errors in my life.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I've wiped quite a few of those out. But from
- 3:04Speaker 2: time to time, because we're human, we're going to make
- 3:07Speaker 2: a mistake every now and then. The trick, what it is, y'all,
- 3:11Speaker 2: is not to let the devil deceive you into thinking
- 3:13Speaker 2: that once you make that mistake that that's it. You
- 3:16Speaker 2: can't do it. You're falling off the wagon. You can't
- 3:20Speaker 2: reboard it. That's the biggest trick that he uses. He
- 3:23Speaker 2: makes you think that if you keep stumbling, that you
- 3:29Speaker 2: can't run the race. It kind of reminds me of
- 3:34Speaker 2: a marathon runner. From time to time I watch them
- 3:37Speaker 2: on TV, and you'll see some people who finish the race,
- 3:43Speaker 2: you know, in a nice pace. You see people finish
- 3:47Speaker 2: the race sprinting towards the finished line. But every now
- 3:51Speaker 2: and then you'll watch a marathon and you'll see a
- 3:55Speaker 2: runner and the runner is in really, really bad shape.
- 4:02Speaker 2: The key is they finish the race. See, you don't
- 4:07Speaker 2: get disqualified in the marathon because you stumble.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You don't. They don't.
- 4:14Speaker 2: They don't take your opportunity to finish the race because
- 4:19Speaker 2: you keep falling.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That's not the key. The key is finishing.
- 4:24Speaker 2: And a lot of times what the devil does is
- 4:27Speaker 2: he makes you think that because you keep stumbling, because
- 4:31Speaker 2: you're swaying from side to side, that you know you
- 4:35Speaker 2: out the race. Well that's not the case. And see
- 4:39Speaker 2: and then this thing called life, let me help you
- 4:41Speaker 2: understand something. Everybody falls, Nobody sprints to the tape in
- 4:45Speaker 2: this one. Nobody just runs free and clear. That has
- 4:49Speaker 2: some people running faster than you and all like this.
- 4:52Speaker 2: And some people gonna get to the end before you
- 4:54Speaker 2: let them go ahead. And when the end come, the
- 4:56Speaker 2: end come. I ain't in the rust, you get to
- 4:58Speaker 2: the end. But in race, though, when you're stumbling and
- 5:02Speaker 2: you're falling, it's a part of it. No one gets
- 5:06Speaker 2: through this race without stumbling and falling, swaying from side
- 5:09Speaker 2: to side. So don't let the enemy to see you
- 5:13Speaker 2: in the thinking that it's over. I try to be
- 5:18Speaker 2: encouraging to people because I don't want people to get
- 5:22Speaker 2: stuck on this thing, you know. And my walk is
- 5:24Speaker 2: very different from a lot of people's walks. And then
- 5:27Speaker 2: I know a lot of people who walking in faith
- 5:29Speaker 2: the way I'm walking in faith. But my thing in
- 5:32Speaker 2: the morning is just to remind those that is not
- 5:35Speaker 2: a perfect walk man, that it's not something that's set
- 5:39Speaker 2: up where you're gonna be skipping through life scott free
- 5:43Speaker 2: without any pitfalls. You know, I keep saying it over
- 5:46Speaker 2: and over and over again because, like I said, when
- 5:48Speaker 2: I was in DC, my boy Hondo said this to
- 5:52Speaker 2: me and it just kind of stuck with me that
- 5:54Speaker 2: the road to construct, the road to success is always
- 5:58Speaker 2: under construction. You have to figure and count on the
- 6:02Speaker 2: setbacks and the pitfalls. But it's those people that that
- 6:06Speaker 2: are that that are that fight through will be the
- 6:09Speaker 2: victors in the end. You cannot give up, man, Stop
- 6:13Speaker 2: going somewhere and sitting down every time something goes down.
- 6:18Speaker 2: It's going to go down. It's a part of it.
- 6:22Speaker 2: It's going to happen. It's going to occur that are
- 6:25Speaker 2: going to be setbacks. If you go and sit down
- 6:28Speaker 2: every time there's a setback, that's.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Not how this works. It is designed that way.
- 6:35Speaker 2: If success were easy, everybody would be successful. But success
- 6:41Speaker 2: is just reserved for those who are willing to fight through,
- 6:45Speaker 2: who refuse to settle for mediocrity, who wants something more. Now,
- 6:50Speaker 2: don't get me wrong. Success is defined by each individual,
- 6:55Speaker 2: So what I may consider to be successful. You may
- 6:58Speaker 2: not consider that. You know what Bill Gates considered successful.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I might not consider what Michael Jordan considered successful. I
- 7:07Speaker 2: might not consider what you consider successful. Your boss might
- 7:11Speaker 2: not consider. You have to define what that is for yourself.
- 7:15Speaker 2: It may not be monetary at all. You know, your
- 7:19Speaker 2: level of success could be tied up in community service.
- 7:22Speaker 2: It could be tied up in family. It could be
- 7:25Speaker 2: tied up in the church. Your level of success could
- 7:28Speaker 2: be tied up into boys clubs. It could be any
- 7:31Speaker 2: number of things. Whatever your level of success is, you
- 7:36Speaker 2: have to determine what that is you and the best
- 7:38Speaker 2: way to determine that is to get in touch with
- 7:42Speaker 2: your maker, who created you, to find out what your
- 7:46Speaker 2: mission and your purpose is so he can put you
- 7:49Speaker 2: on track. I just had this conversation with my son
- 7:53Speaker 2: and we were talking about getting on the path that
- 7:57Speaker 2: God has set up for you. So we find ourselves
- 8:01Speaker 2: fighting through life because of so much uncertainty, because we
- 8:05Speaker 2: have no idea where we're headed. It's like one of
- 8:10Speaker 2: my sayings that I have at my mentoring camp for
- 8:15Speaker 2: boys is is that a boy without a male role
- 8:20Speaker 2: model is like an explorer without a map. See if
- 8:25Speaker 2: you don't have a map laid out in front of
- 8:29Speaker 2: you of where you're going when you wake up every day,
- 8:34Speaker 2: that pretty much explains the feeling of confusion, the laxadaisical attitude,
- 8:41Speaker 2: the lack of purpose, to not understanding your mission because
- 8:47Speaker 2: you don't have not gotten in touch with your creator
- 8:51Speaker 2: to find out exactly what your path in life is.
- 8:55Speaker 2: What are you supposed to be doing? The moment you
- 8:58Speaker 2: can identify that is the moment that you get started
- 9:02Speaker 2: waking up with purpose, with the sense of direction. When
- 9:07Speaker 2: you kill the sense of I don't know what's next
- 9:09Speaker 2: or what to do. Now, there's going to be some
- 9:11Speaker 2: confusing moments no matter what happened, it's going to be
- 9:14Speaker 2: some uncertainty, but at least you'll know where you're going.
- 9:18Speaker 2: So if you're tied a waking up feeling loss, abandon confuse,
- 9:22Speaker 2: don't know what to do, don't know what you're supposed
- 9:25Speaker 2: to be doing, refer back to your maker because when
- 9:31Speaker 2: he created you, he had a plan for you.
- 9:34Speaker 1: When he created you, he had a path for you.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Now we've made some decisions to get off of both
- 9:40Speaker 2: of those, the mission and the path.
- 9:43Speaker 1: But God can get you right back on track.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Do that today, Ask him what you're supposed to be doing,
- 9:51Speaker 2: and listen. God has all the answers if you form
- 9:55Speaker 2: the relationship.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Okay, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show
