- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Of the goodness of God.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: I love you Lord, though your mercy never fails me all my days I've been held in your hands from the moment that I wake up until I lay my head I will sing of the goodness of God 'cause your goodness keeps running after it's running after me.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Yes, your goodness keeps running after it's running after me.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: I give you everything.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Your goodness keeps running after.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: It's running after me.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: I love to start the podcast at the song because it gives me time to click on everything and make sure we're all connected.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: And then I'm not just sitting here like kind of fumbling, but it's all good today.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Today is a great day.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Hello, y'all.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: My name is Ashley Amber.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: For those of you that don't know me, aka Bubbles is my name out on the farm.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: And I'm so excited to hop on here today.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: It is a glorious whole week.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: You guys, everyone in Wisconsin is celebrating hard.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: We won the World Series! I know that Wisconsin, especially in Milwaukee, is just been going crazy, tearing it up.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: There's an official party happening on Friday where the tickets are already sold out at the Amfam baseball field.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: Or is it somewhere else?
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: Or is it the Pfizer?
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Jeez, I gotta check my information.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Anyways, the tick, I couldn't get tickets anyways, even if I wanted to.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: People are just on fire for this record-breaking win of the World Series where the underdogs took it home.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Even though the Brewers had some of the best stats in the league, I feel like we we won our way.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: I've been seeing that a lot lately on social media is that we won our way, we won our way.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: And then I had to stop and think of like, what does that mean and compare it to we bought our way?
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: I know that we had beat the Dodgers in the championship game, and they pay one of their players one billion dollars to play baseball, which is wonderful for him.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: But it kind of takes out the competitive nature of like natural ability and how they play ball.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: It's like buying their way, right?
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: So the fact that these guys played with grit and heart and a team spirit is just such a wonderful, heartwarming story of success.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: And that despite all the odds and and people that have talked smack in the past, I know I was trying to tell my kids that that's saying that the Brewers cracked the bed is a thing.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Like that's what they make it so far, and then they can never seem to follow through.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: But we can't say that anymore because it's been 44 years since we've been to the World Series.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: The first time that we have taken home that trophy.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: And I couldn't be more proud to be from Wisconsin.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: It's such a great thing for our state, it's such a great thing for our hometown city of Milwaukee.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: And these boys are just putting in the good work and celebrating it.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: And I was just looking back about everything that has unfurled because of the Brewer's win and all the excitement and hype.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: And people are just jolly and joyous in a good mood.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: We're celebrating, and what a great time to be alive.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: I feel like tonight it's like, well, what about the Packers?
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: We got a Packers game tonight.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: It's a go, pack, go.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: And I feel like they're kind of on a roll as well.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: And just a great time for Wisconsin sports.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: And people are like, well, what if the Packers win the Super Bowl?
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: Like, what if?
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: You know, only, only God knows what's in store.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: But I love that this story kind of brings it back to Jesus.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: It's I have a couple things that I just wanted to touch on.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: That Aaron Ashby did an interview and he gave all of the glory to God.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: He talked about our Father, his, our savior, and how without God, he would not be where he was today.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: And that was reached and broadcasted to millions and millions of people that look up to this guy for his story and how he came to have such strong faith.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: And planting sweet seeds of hope and love and joy and giving him all the glory as you should, because it is all for him.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: And that brought God so much glory.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: I know he's really, you know, smiling on Ashby.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: And maybe that's why they won the World Series, is that these this is such a faithful team.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: And that faith is just demonstrated time and time again because it takes a lot of courage to step out and declare your faith, especially where the devil's attacking all the time.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: You just don't know.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: You don't want that to be held over your head.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: But that's what we're called to do is step out in faith.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: And that's exactly what he did.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: And not only did he come out of that article and give all the glory to God, I found it so wild who sent it to me.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: My brother of all people, someone, you know, him and I were raised not in a very religious environment.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: You know, spirituality comes with experience and with time and on everyone's own journey, which I totally love and respect and adore.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: I know he believes in God and accepts Jesus as his savior, but maybe, you know, his journey is just beginning.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: And the fact that he shared this article with me really just touched my heart.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: I feel like it was one thing for Ashby to have said that, but then for my brother to have shared it with me was just super special and just goes to show that, you know, stepping out in that courageous act of sharing your faith really does plant some wonderful seeds in people that you wouldn't really necessarily expect to have plant planted.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: And the fact that he sent it to me is just amazing because I'm like, it's all, it's all jiving for him to think of me when he thinks of faith.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: And, you know, being being a shiny light bearer myself, it just really made me smile and brought a lot of joy to my heart.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: And what also brought a lot of joy to my heart was seeing these boys on their knees pointing up to heaven, pointing up to God, pointing up to our Father, our Savior, like giving him all the glory.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Two names that really stand out is William Contreras and Jackson Churio, who's 22 years old.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: And to be able to, you know, in either other languages, you know, they're from Venezuela, to give all the glory to God is just so heart-touching and just goes to show how big our God is and then watch him work, right?
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know, maybe I've just really never noticed it before because through this World Series, I'm not a huge baseball fan.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Like you won't find I, you know, I go to a couple, one, maybe two games in a in a season, but didn't really have a relationship with the players.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: Like I didn't feel super invested.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: And these last couple of weeks, watching these boys, you know, lay it all out there and putting their heart on the line and and step out in faith just really makes me feel integrated with this team.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: And I couldn't be more proud to cheer on the Brewers.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: And now, you know, I I don't want to say that like I'm like hopping on the bandwagon, but I just I I like I said, I just feel so much more in love with this team for what they stand for and that they're standing in that solid ground, rooted in faith.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: And these boys are declaring it, uh, you know, out there for the world to hear.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: And I respect that and I honor that and I cherish it, and I cannot wait to see where those seeds of faith are when they root and what they grow into.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Because especially as like, you know, the youth watching them as well.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, these guys are young themselves, 22 years old, 28 years old.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Cooper Pratt went on there.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: He just had this huge smile on his face after the game.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: He was just like in awe and wonder of his works, of his glory.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: And and you know, had some time like enunciating that and being able to explain his feelings with the with the broadcaster, and you know, saying thank you to our king, our father.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: And for these these men to be so young and declaring their faith and then planting those seeds in our youth that look up to them and see that a lot of them have really unique stories of how they got into the position they were.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: You know, they're like again, the underdogs and and who would have thought, but that's been a long time in the making.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: It was hard, you know, trying to explain to my children like the big hype in the deal about the World Series, even though if you're not, you know, a die-hard Brewers fan.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: This is something really to celebrate and and and be in congratulations and be joyous about because it is history in the making.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Like we're gonna look back at these times where we spent together with family and friends watching the Brewers Take Home the World Series and look on back on these memories so fondly.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: That was one of another special part of working at Cheryl's Club.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: I was able to talk with a lot of people about their experience in 1982 when the were when the Brewers had last made it to the World Series.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: And they remember if they went to the game, where they watched the game, who they were with, how they got the tickets.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: It was just really, you know, kind of set you back to be like, wow, we're we're in this moment right here, right now.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: Let's make the best of it.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: Let's do it up.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: I did not get to go to any of the watch parties.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: Uh, we had a watch party at our house.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: And yesterday it was game five, where they they took it home and the kids, you know, were kind of losing interest or losing their attention span as we were watching the game.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: So we went and got pumpkins and let them carve the pumpkins, which occupied some of their time and and made it enjoyable for them to sit and watch the game with us.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: And I feel like them even seeing our reactions when they won, and they're kind of like, wow, like mom and dad are really excited.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: What's we should be excited too?
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: And it was just kind of kind of wild because I feel like at that age, you don't really really realize it in the moment of you know how special this time is.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: But then I know they'll look back and be like, yeah, I I do remember that because it could be once in a lifetime.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: We don't know.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: God only knows.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: It's his plan, right?
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: We could go on a streak and you know win everyone from here on out.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: But the chances are, you know, who knows?
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: But just for today, right?
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: Just for today, we're choosing to celebrate the Brewers and their undeniably awesome win.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: And we're gonna give the glory to our father.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: And I'm so pumped that this team is rooted in faith.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: And I would love to say that maybe that is a big reason for their success, because they're they are not gonna be riddled with anxiety and uncertainty and any fear-based mentality.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Like they know whose planet is and they could just go out there, have fun, do their best and try their dance, their darndest.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: And I it was kind of funny because I was talking to another lady, and the Rays actually, their name used to be the Devils, and then they changed it to the Rays, and then as homage to their prior name, they had a jersey on that said the devil rays, and she's like, Jesus didn't like that.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Nope.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: He uh maybe that's why, maybe that's why they didn't win because they were reppering that that devil language.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: I was like, maybe, maybe, we don't know, but I'm glad that these boys are throwing it up and giving all the praise and all the glory to our father.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Can I get a hallelujah and an amen to that?
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Good job, Bruke Rue.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: We'll be cheering you on.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: I just feel like that's wonderful.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: It's the the Ampham Stadium is right in my backyard.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: It's about 40 minutes away.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: You know, it was a big deal to construct that stadium, and I can kind of see that we're now getting the the fruits of that labor of, you know, that the tax dollars that went to building that.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: It's all coming to fruition now.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: And I'm just curious to see what ticket prices are gonna be, you know, in in in times to come.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: But totally worth it.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: A wonderful family event to be able to include everybody and have a good time and kind of be in the moment and celebrate great American pastime.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: So go, brew, crew.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: Can I get a go pack go?
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: Go bucky, go bucks.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: I we got a lot of great teams here in Wisconsin, and what a time to be alive to see all these sports teams, you know, stepping out and and and and winning.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: It's so much more fun when you win, right?
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: Winning, and we know who wins and all of this.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: And and and it has been told in Hebrews 13.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Where are we at?
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: 13, 4.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: So we will say with confidence, the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: What can mere mortals do to me?
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: What a great mentality when stepping out on that field.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: And if they have that, that, that passage in their heart, if they know that book and that passage, you know, what can mere mortals do to me?
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: Have no fear, get out there and just try your best.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: I think that they are already winning at that.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: So go, brook roo! Woo! I love it, I love it, need it.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: Gotta have it.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: So, needless to say, Ashby, Contreras, Churio, Pratt, good job.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Those are just some big names that came out when I was watching, but I feel like as a team unit there, I think it's safe to say that they probably all really share some of those same values and have that all in common.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: So that's really special.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: So, needless to say, we have been up late this early this, you know, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, watching these games, cheering on the brewers.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: Even the kids have been staying up, and so they've been little sleepy heads when on their way to school.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: But it's a history in the making, right?
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: Like we had to do it.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: We had to stay up.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: We we we didn't have to, but we get we get to do these things.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: So we decided to take full advantage of this season.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: And I was a little sleepy this morning, waking up as a celebrating, and but we did because we gotta keep on keeping on.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: And I committed to taking some, a couple fruit platters with some ladies from New Life Church in West Bend, my church family, sweet Karen and Mama Gail and Mary met us down at the Franciscan Peacemakers place in Milwaukee.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: And it just was a fill up my cup moment or a morning there, helping to feed ladies that come into this safe space at the Franciscan Peacemakers.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: And they had a whole crew of ladies there that are committed to helping people get off the streets, stay off drugs, you know, helping facilitate a better life for people that have been victims of sexual exploitation, sexual abuse.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: So I know this has kind of taken a turn if what it is, and and but this is this is what I was doing this morning.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: And I just feel so called to talk about it because it felt really good to be in service, right?
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: Like to be able to use the small gifts that I have and and lay them before the Lord and put in his good work.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: And I felt so called to join the ladies.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: They've been, they mentioned it in church that they were looking for people to help cook and bring food for the ladies as they go down once a month and and bring it to these, to this organization who holds their doors open for these, for these ladies that are falling upon hard times.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: And I just feel so blessed to be able to give back and be a part of it and actually like connect with it.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: So we all rode together down there.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: We met at the McDonald's and rode down.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: And so the conversations in the car on the way there, on the way back were super lovely and uplifting.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: I did a lot of listening.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: They were like, Ashley, you're pretty quiet.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: I was like, Quiet.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: Haven't heard that for a while, but it was good to hear because that means that I am lit doing more listening.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: And it's so nice to hear from my elders about their heart and their spirit of giving back and being involved in community and what that all looks like.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: And, you know, being helpers and being of service.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: It was just wonderful.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: And as I was doing more research on Franciscan peacemakers, it's really quite lovely knowing that they are doing everything for his love and for with Jesus at their heart center too.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: And they said one of the alders from way back in the 1200s used to say, peace and all good, peace and all good.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: And they actually made a wellness natural, holistic wellness brand called Peace and All Good that gives back to this nonprofit organization.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: So all the soaps and the candles and the lotions that they make in-house there, all that money goes back to the nonprofit so they can keep their doors open to help give resources to women in need.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: So I thought that was just wonderful.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: That the core of their mission is women helping women.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: And we need more of that, right?
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: Can I get a amen?
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: We need more women helping women and no matter what stage in life, like you don't know their walks, their story.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: And it's kind of interesting to be able to capture some of that and humble yourself and and really be grateful for for every day, know that it's a blessing.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: And these women were happy.
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: They were, they were joyous, they were happy, they were grateful.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: They we've heard so many thank yous today for just bringing a simple meal.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: And it was really quite sweet that, you know, all walks of life can come together and and and make a difference.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: So I thought that was really, really sweet.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: And they kept us busy there.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: We were putting on stickers for packages for soap and making gift bundles.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: And these ladies have a whole slew of events where they're offering their products for people to get out in the community and spread the good news and get the outreach so they can help people right there in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: And it's crazy to think that in this day and age where we live in such a world of abundance and everything is so fruitful that there are people that are homeless and and and desperate and searching and in need of and and living in lack.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: And this is where God wants us to be, his hands and feet, and reach in there and share, shine your light, and share your gifts.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: And you don't know what that tiny mustard seed of faith planted could do and grow in these ladies, ladies.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: If it's not good, God is not done.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: So who knows, you know, after that after this passes, this too shall pass, what these ladies will go on to do, and they'll remember that kindness and hopefully pay it forward and be really good, active disciples and and spread the good news.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: And and I feel like them witnessing, you know, the volunteers that come in and make this all happen is really eye-opening for them and for us as well.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: It kind of is just a good symbiotic relationship and of reciprocity, and you know, the more you give, the more you receive.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: So it just really was a heartfelt fill up my cup type of morning.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: And I felt very grateful and blessed to be able to share a fruit platter and all of that experience that I got out of that was just so much more than that time that was given.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: And I can't wait to do it again.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: We are signed up December 1st to go back, and we thought of making, you know, all the different like proteins that we could make.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Because if you're homeless, right, like you're not getting a lot of protein.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: They really liked the chili that Mama Karen made.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: And I think it was because it was so meaty, so hardy, like it gives them the protein that you need.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Because if you're homeless, you don't have anywhere to cook the meat, right?
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Like what to get access to meat.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: So we're thinking of all the different meat dishes.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: And being December 1st, I think we settled on that we're gonna make a turkey, turkey sandwiches and Do a play on Thanksgiving dinner.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: And then it just kind of like put things in perspective, too, of like where they're going to be at for Thanksgiving and what traditions is created out there on the streets.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: I'm not worrying.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: I know that God has a plan for you, for me, and for everybody.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: And God bless the Francisc, Franciscan peacemakers, the ladies, you know, on the front lines, putting in the good work and in spirit of service and helping other people.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: That's just admirable.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: I'm inspired.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: I'm encouraged.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: And I would love to stay connected with them.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: I'm getting all my soap from them.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: I love that it's natural and holistic.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: And they're they are using the ladies to help get them get off the streets, give them jobs by making the soaps.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: They're getting those rewards from being in a safe, loving environment of women that are working together as a collective to, you know, raise the vibration and the greater good.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: I think that's really sweet.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: And they also have the Claire community where they actually help, it's a program to help people get off the streets where they will house them.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: And they, it's a step-by-step program to have them be set up for success when they're ready to re-enter in society, because some of these women have been through it.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: They they all have a story.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: You know, we all have our crosses.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: Some are, some are heavier at times than others.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: But the fact that the community sees them, recognizes it, and reaches out and lends a hand, you know, back and forward to be able to pull people up is just wonderful to hear.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: So that is some good news that I wanted to share with you.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: How sweet it is to be loved by him.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: And there is nothing he cannot do.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: There is nothing he cannot have.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: And that's what he tells you and I is that there's nothing you can't do, and there's nothing you can't have.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: And we should be bringing our gifts together, bring forth and sharing with the community.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: And with that, Karen was asking me, she's like, Ashley, do you bake?
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: Like, can you start baking some things for church?
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I stopped baking a while ago, and my husband would eat like the whole tray of things.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: So it's it's nice to like, even though I love baking, to have a place to go with the baked goods.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: So we don't sit at home and eat all of it.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Is that relatable to anybody?
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: I feel like it's so good to be in the kitchen and baking something and creating with your family.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: I love to involve my kids.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: They love making chocolate chip cookies and brownies.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: But then either we give it all, you know, away to the neighbors or we eat it all.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: So I feel like church could be a really great outlet for that.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: And as things wind down here with the farmers market coming to an end, this is the final week this Saturday.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: Y'all should come and see us and stock up on your vegetables in your root cellar or in your basement.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: But I think it's, you know, as things slow down, I think committing to more acts of service, right?
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: And, you know, it doesn't mean that I have to bake every single time for everybody.
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: I could make some chocolate chip cookies and bring them to church, you know, and help the congregation.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: And then the conversations had while eating that cookie together, something even more fruitful will spawn from that.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: And then it's just like the trickle up effect of like all these beautiful things working together for good is just amazing.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: So it's just got me thinking how I could be more of service, you know, whether it's with my time, the resources, the energy, or even just some bit of encouragement, or really I feel like I've just been blessed with so much abundance on the farm.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: I want to share that.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: It's in my heart, and I can give the glory to God for that, that he laid that on my heart and that he kept my ears open and my heart open and soft, and to be able to receive those messages from the community and what it requires to raise everybody up so we can all be living good because what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: Hey, yo.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: And speaking of farmers markets and, you know, products and offerings to the community, I have loved what I've been doing with DNA hemp.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: I have a passion for cannabis.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: I really believe in the plant.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: I feel like for a while, for a while before I strengthened my spiritual relationship with Jesus, it was hemp that was consuming me.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: I eat, sleep, breathe, thought about hemp.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: I wrote literature reviews and researched hemp and cannabis and how it interacts with their endocannabinoid system and how the healthcare system can benefit from incorporating cannabis in their regimen for healing and holistic health and improving people's quality of life.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: Anyways, you get the picture.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: I feel like a big part of this podcast has been hemp.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: And I loved to be able to offer, you know, oils, topicals, edibles, and smokables for people to include, include their quality of life and really kind of stood on the soapbox of like, this plant is good, and we need to rewrite the script and educate people on how it could help just about anybody with a spine, all vertebrae species.
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: And so I feel like that was very consuming for me in the best way possible that I was fulfilling a mission that I didn't even know was coming from the Lord.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Uh, but here we are today, and I have this beautiful natural pharmacy that I feel like is beginning easier to offer to the community and people are more accepting of it.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: Like if you know, you know.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: But now it's been all con diluted and became murky when the euphoric cannabinoids are entering the hemp scene.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: And even though they're derived from hemp, they are processed in a lab for the most part.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: There are, you know, THCA can be sun-grown, but it's concentrated in just that cannabinoid and not so much all the hundred other cannabinoids that work together in synergy.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: So, anywho, I feel like we got away from the healing and more into the high, more into the recreation and less into the medicine when these other compounds were working together and created essentially a loophole in the system here nationwide, according to how the legislation was written when the farm broke bill was first conceived in 2018.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: We started growing in 2019 and really stuck by hemp and all the euphoric cannabinoids such as Delta 8, Delta 9, Delta 10, THCA, were not a thing at that time.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: It's just only been in the last several years that people discovered, you know, how the fine print of how the piece of legislation was written and that it left a gray area for these other derivatives.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: As Wisconsin is a total THC state when we're farming it, but the Delta 9 was the cannabinoid that has been regulated across the board in the products, leaving that other that THCA space open because it was just the Delta 9 that they had to be in compliance on the certificate of analysis.
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: Are you?
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, my losing yeah, I want to keep you with me.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: That left the loophole, and there's a hemp ban that is coming to effect December 11th, where they are closing that loophole.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: Because I honestly think that hemp was really never intended to get you high.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: It was more about the healing.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: And so it really sucks for businesses that have built their livelihood on these cannabinoids that are producing feelings of euphoria.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: And that is what is selling because we don't have any legalization program from marijuana here in Wisconsin.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: As a matter of fact, we hear daily how people are crossing state lines to have access to their medicine.
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: And that, you know, the taxes can be crazy.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: And because they have special licensing, right?
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: Like that are growing marijuana and it's more regulated that way.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: So here we are with the hemp ban, December 11th.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: That's closing the loophole, and the legislation is being rewritten.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: So now it is 0.4% total THC per serving, not per container, which is leaving a lot of uncertainty as to what products are still gonna be compliant and which products are not.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: And that is affecting everybody down the supply chain from the manufacturers to the distributors to the farmers.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: And there's come a time now on our website, DNAhemplc.com, is no longer gonna have credit card processing.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: I literally had our credit card processor that is currently servicing us right now being like, you can't have any pot leaves on your website.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, what?
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: It's in our logo.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: Like it is on every single one of our products, the the hemp leaf, if you will, right?
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: And it's making it darn near impossible possible for me to continue on online and playing in this space as the credit card companies aren't wanting to assume the risk, as we're paying crazy fees that is right up there with firearms and sex toys, is what is being you know taxed on these hemp products for credit card processing being a more at-risk service.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: And saying that I needed to change all of my logos on the on all the products, I'm like, I need to take a step back here.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: And I could find another credit card processing, but all of them out there right now want a ridiculous percentage and is really eating into the margins here, which weren't all that wonderful in and of itself, being the farmer and all of the labor and productivity productivity that goes into producing these products, and it's not very sustainable for a small business or a hemp farmer like me.
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: So I'm actually running a sale right now.
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: It has been a never seen before sale.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty much selling all of my products at wholesale price at this time.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: My processing gets shut off tomorrow, October 30th, and everything on my website is BOGO.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: Buy one, get one, which is insane for me.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: The energy exchange is like, oh gosh, just take it.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: But I do want to find good homes for this hemp and you know improve people's quality of life with the existing inventory that I have, as I feel like I'm being pushed out of the I don't want to say it's a game, but it's politics as usual, right?
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: And it just seems like, you know, coming from the small farmer, from a small business standpoint and perspective, it's really hard to play in the from a regulatory standpoint and all this uncertainty, as if selling hemp wasn't hard enough in and of itself.
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: And taking with the online processing, that's throwing another wrench in the system.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: I'm very hopeful that I will find another credit card processor that will take DNA hemp on.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: But for now, I was giving people a fair warning to kind of stock up on their products.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: And with all the uncertainty with the hemp ban and not knowing how that's going to affect my existing inventory, I'm just taking it one day at a time.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: So I just wanted to say a super special thank you to everybody out there that has supported our online business.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: I've sent orders to Hawaii, it's a California, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Florida, you name it, just about every single state across the United States.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: And always got such a kick of like, how did they hear of DNA Hemp?
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: Like the High Vibe tribe is growing and expanding.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: And I feel like we have just under 2,000 emails that we collected and people that subscribed to our, you know, daily, our weekly or sometimes even monthly, because I've been up on it, especially during, you know, growing season, but you know, that have been part of the high vibe tribe and believed in the mission and signed the Declaration of Independence of Cannabis and has been following us along on this journey as really we've left left no rock unturned from our in-person events, you know, to our time in the field to taking it to the Capitol and, you know, letting our voices be heard to working with researchers at UW Madison.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: You know, I just really still feel like our journey has just begun.
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: We still have a lot of work to do to end cannabis prohibition and a lot of education that needs to happen with people.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: But for right now, the online space just really, as far as the website goes, is not aligning with the mission.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: And it just seems like jumping through a lot of hoops that I'm not prepared to pursue if it's not fruitful for my soul.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: So I'm really looking forward to in-person events, working, expanding my work with Jesus and being in service, you know, at Cheryl's Club 175 with our retail partners that are still carrying our products.
- 36:40SPEAKER_01: There is about two handfuls of retailers out there that are selling our products, that you can get our goods in person.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: So don't worry, even though we don't have the easy access online where you ship things right to your door with that discretion, you can always get out in the community and shop local, shop small, and check out our retail partner list at dnahemplc.com where you can get the goods in person.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: And also I really want to urge people to keep following us on social media, whether it's DNA Hemp or Ashley Amber or Miss Ashley Amber or Sunshine and Bubbles24 on Instagram.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: Gotta do a little bit more on TikTok.
- 37:27SPEAKER_01: I just have spread pretty thin on the socials.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: You know, it's just me operating this small business.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: So I do what I can, but I love being able to connect online in that capacity on social media where we can create, discover, play, and explore together.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: That always fills up my cuff when I get words of encouragement or can give words of encouragement, or people come to DNA Hemp as an authority for an organic small batch farmer that works hands-on with the plant and really believes in the healing power.
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: So I really do feel like this story does not end here.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: Just this chapter online is closing for the time being.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: Again, I am not God.
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: I cannot say what the future holds for the online business, but we did put a lot of work and effort and energy and resources into building a beautiful website.
- 38:26SPEAKER_01: And I'm really proud of what we've created, especially with Kelly Sunshine over the years, who put a little piece of her soul into the descriptions and keeping up with the COAs and the blog postings and the emails and you know, blasting things on the Google listing and how sweet it was that we live in a time and age where you can get your medicine in the mail, like how wonderful it is.
- 38:50SPEAKER_01: And I feel like we've had so many repeat shoppers on there that continued to show up in faith, show up in love, show up in support, and be so joyful when they got a package for DNA with a handwritten note.
- 39:05SPEAKER_01: And I always like to try to put a special surprise in there, whether it be a crystal or some kind of seeds from the farm or some kind of farm freshness.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: I was really good at surprising people.
- 39:17SPEAKER_01: And I remember when we first started, we were making, we sent bracelets and other jewelry and stickers and all of that fun stuff.
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: So we really try to make it a fun experience when you got the package from DNA Hemp in the mail.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: So even though this chapter is closing, I feel really solid about, you know, what I've learned through this process of working on the internet and having a Shopify business.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: And I really feel like, you know, we're just kind of cracking, cracking the surface with the infinite potential on there.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: But it is, can be a black hole.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, with the SEO, the search engine optimization and you know, the rankings and the Google listings and keeping everything current and having to be, you know, up on there a lot.
- 40:07SPEAKER_01: It takes a lot of effort, energy, and attention.
- 40:10SPEAKER_01: So thank you, thank you, thank you so much, everybody that was encouraged or inspired or and supported the e-commerce site.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: What a what a time to be alive here where we can support each other in that capacity.
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: And I can't wait to see what God has in store for me because he will never leave me, he will never forsake me, as Hebrews 13, 4 indicates.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: And, you know, therefore, this is also Hebrews 12, 28.
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.
- 41:04SPEAKER_01: Our God is a consuming fire.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: And I'm not playing on no lukewarm faith here.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: I have a lot.
- 41:11SPEAKER_01: And in the year of the fire horse here, it really kind of was just that for me, a time of radical change and propelling ideas forward as it is has just been me on the farm and managing my time and the company and the business and making all the decisions and propelling it future in a time where things seem so uncertain, I will not be shaken.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: And trust, I am not going anywhere.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: I am just an email or a phone call away.
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: Lord knows my cell phone number has been out there for everybody to pick up the phone and call me.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: If you need me, call me, text me, DM me, send me a message.
- 41:50SPEAKER_01: I am here for it.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: I am not going anywhere.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: You know, that's where you get when you shop small and shop with somebody that's so invested in a face to a brand.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: I am not just a white label company.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: These products have been an extension of my soul and my blood, sweat, and blisters out there working on the farm to procure some premium products for y'all for single origin, you know, farm to table type mentality.
- 42:22SPEAKER_01: And that is the change that I wish to see in the world.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: And that is the change that we can achieve together.
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: Because if you believe it, we can achieve it.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: Yoohoo! I'm gonna wrap this up.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: It has been fun.
- 42:36SPEAKER_01: I'm so blessed to be able to talk.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: Say that the Brewers, our home team, has won the World Series.
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: Can we get a go pack go tonight?
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: I will be cheering on my niece Brindley as she is gonna be singing sweet songs in the elementary school.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: How sweet it is.
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: I just love that.
- 42:56SPEAKER_01: And that is my brother, Mike's daughter, the one who shared the good news of Ashbury that gave all the glory to Jesus.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: And from that, you know, opened up a huge wave of support for our father from the rest of the teammates.
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: How special that is.
- 43:15SPEAKER_01: I love to hear it.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: That is music to my ears, that they are giving the glory to our God, our father, our sweet savior, how wonderful it is.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: So keep on spreading the message, keep shining the light, keep sharing your gifts, and I'm gonna hoopono this out with I love you.
- 43:35SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: Please forgive me.
- 43:38SPEAKER_01: You're welcome.
- 43:39SPEAKER_01: Or thank you.
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: No, yeah.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: I love you.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: Please forgive me.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: What a wonderful pleasure it has been.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: Tune in next week for the latest and awesomest high vibrational news.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: Until then, keep creating.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: Much love.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: Get out there and be awesome.
