- 0:16Speaker 1: We should probably let people know that this is a
- 0:20Speaker 1: Patreon exclusive episode.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention? I've
- 0:26Speaker 2: just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. And
- 0:31Speaker 2: I need all of you to stop what you're doing
- 0:34Speaker 2: and listen.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Anyway, yeah, I think you should definitely listen to ridiculous
- 0:40Speaker 1: things that we say like this.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Yeah, anyways, it was like, So I decided to watch
- 0:45Speaker 3: this show, and holy fucking shit. The stuff that, I mean,
- 0:49Speaker 3: this is on the SyFy channel. Good fucking God. The
- 0:54Speaker 3: stuff they threw in there. I mean, first of all,
- 0:57Speaker 3: it says fuck more than I do.
- 0:59Speaker 4: That's saying something.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Do they have their own rating system?
- 1:02Speaker 3: I don't even know, dude. But it's, I'm like, this
- 1:05Speaker 3: is on SyFy channel. This is on like HBO or
- 1:09Speaker 3: whatever kind of show. This is like. regular TV, like,
- 1:13Speaker 3: sort of. I mean, this is like regular cable shows.
- 1:15Speaker 4: And it's not bleeped?
- 1:16Speaker 2: No.
- 1:17Speaker 4: I didn't think you could still get away with that one.
- 1:20Speaker 3: They were saying fucking shit, like, everything.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought I was watching a regular movie.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Yeah, like, you can get away with shit after a
- 1:27Speaker 4: specific time, but yeah, I thought, again, I haven't checked
- 1:31Speaker 4: the rating system lately.
- 1:33Speaker 5: There were some pretty graphic scenes in that show.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Incredibly, like, damn near seeing sexual acts, like, to the
- 1:42Speaker 3: point where you're like, I shouldn't be seeing this. I
- 1:44Speaker 3: need an adult. You know, stuff that I didn't ever
- 1:48Speaker 3: need to see.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You were out of luck, because none of us are
- 1:50Speaker 1: an adult.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Smoothie, I did not need to know why he was
- 1:53Speaker 3: called Smoothie. I was not curious, even in the slightest,
- 1:58Speaker 3: and I'll be damned, they made it just as creepy
- 2:00Speaker 3: as they could.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I'm creeped out already.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and then the attachments that he had to use,
- 2:06Speaker 3: and yeah, that they showed, and I'm just This is
- 2:11Speaker 3: on Sci-Fi Channel. I don't know. Maybe they showed it
- 2:13Speaker 3: really late at night. I don't know. But they showed
- 2:16Speaker 3: it during the holiday season. And I'm just like, really?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Nothing brings the family together.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Like huge black strap-ons. Let me tell you.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Add that and boy, you're not a pillow.
- 2:29Speaker 5: See, I usually watch the Conan trilogy like Sonya counts.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It's the unofficial.
- 2:37Speaker 5: It's the unofficial. I consider it a trilogy.
- 2:42Speaker 4: It was supposed to be, I think.
- 2:45Speaker 5: He's kind of dorky in that one.
- 2:47Speaker 4: I think they lost the rights or something like that,
- 2:50Speaker 4: so they were just like.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Let's make our own.
- 2:51Speaker 5: Yeah, but I usually watch it when I get sick.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Of course, I haven't been sick in a long time,
- 2:56Speaker 5: so I haven't watched it in a while, but usually
- 2:59Speaker 5: I'm half looped out of my head on NyQuil and Oh,
- 3:05Speaker 5: what's that other stuff?
- 3:07Speaker 3: The cough stuff.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Tussin?
- 3:10Speaker 5: Yeah, Robitussin.
- 3:12Speaker 3: The Tussin.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Loaded up on the Tussin.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Usually I'm jacked up on Robitussin watching Conan. So sometimes
- 3:20Speaker 5: I kind of go off into these hallucinations. You also have.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Visions as Conan does.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, totally. Totally.
- 3:31Speaker 4: And this is why I wondered if you'd seen it,
- 3:33Speaker 4: because it is another one of those that is just...
- 3:36Speaker 4: All right, so we take this, and then we add this,
- 3:39Speaker 4: and we add all this, and we got a movie.
- 3:43Speaker 3: It looked fun. And that's the thing. It is.
- 3:46Speaker 4: If you like those kind of.
- 3:47Speaker 3: That's the thing.
- 3:48Speaker 4: You'll probably enjoy it.
- 3:49Speaker 5: It's fine.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I like that kind of movie.
- 3:52Speaker 4: You like those kind of goofy horror movies, and it's like...
- 3:54Speaker 4: I don't even know if it's goofy.
- 3:57Speaker 5: It's just.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Once I get into it, and that's... My thing is
- 4:01Speaker 4: just watching, like I almost want to decode it all
- 4:06Speaker 4: the way back to the pitch meeting.
- 4:08Speaker 1: They're like, okay, so It Follows was pretty popular lately.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And everybody likes the way people are doomed and gonna
- 4:16Speaker 1: have to die in Final Destination.
- 4:18Speaker 5: But we're kind of on hold in that.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Scenario because we keep wanting to reboot it, but they're
- 4:22Speaker 4: not really doing it or whatever they're doing.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 4:25Speaker 4: So it's totally like a mixture of Final Destination.
- 4:31Speaker 1: It follows.
- 4:32Speaker 4: And then by the end, a little bit of the eye,
- 4:35Speaker 4: which I just recently decided to watch that. I, it
- 4:39Speaker 4: was one that I, I don't know. I kind of
- 4:41Speaker 4: avoided the, the Alba version, which nobody seemed to like,
- 4:45Speaker 4: and nobody cared about, which is kind of what made
- 4:47Speaker 4: me like, no fucking, I'm going to watch it. So
- 4:49Speaker 4: I watched that in the last six or eight months.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 4:52Speaker 4: So, but yeah, the end like has a real heavy
- 4:56Speaker 4: strain of that.
- 4:57Speaker 5: And I'm just like, but of all things to rip
- 4:59Speaker 5: off the eye.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Well, So I don't know.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Maybe there's another horror movie.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Maybe they figured not enough people watched it. Yeah, we
- 5:05Speaker 3: can steal from that.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Nobody's going to notice that. So there is a weird
- 5:09Speaker 4: little piece of the wrap-up that feels pretty close to
- 5:11Speaker 4: that plot, too.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Kids being dicks. That was pretty fucking funny.
- 5:16Speaker 4: What, the dick chain? I mean, your kid's the Antichrist.
- 5:19Speaker 4: That's like the top of the dick chain.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So if you want to hear that kind of really
- 5:28Speaker 1: intelligent comments on movies and music and random other things
- 5:35Speaker 1: that came about.
- 5:36Speaker 6: Or future interviews with random people such as myself.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You should definitely go to our Patreon page. Again, if
- 5:43Speaker 1: you don't know how to spell Patreon, that's fine. Go
- 5:45Speaker 1: to moviemouthdown.com. I'm sure you're there all the time.
- 5:48Speaker 6: Which you should be looking for new content.
- 5:50Speaker 5: All our awesome... How often did you say it was
- 5:52Speaker 5: up to?
- 5:52Speaker 1: I'd say once a week. Once a week. You'll get
- 5:54Speaker 1: a brand new episode.
- 5:55Speaker 6: That's really exciting.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I've got a big story for you. And it's right here.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Well, hello.
- 6:01Speaker 6: Seriously, though, the thing is, what makes you worthy of
- 6:04Speaker 6: doing something is the fact that you're setting out to
- 6:07Speaker 6: do it. You're setting out to put yourself on the
- 6:09Speaker 6: line and make this your livelihood or at least your
- 6:13Speaker 6: hobby or whatever. This is your investment. This is your time.
- 6:17Speaker 6: You don't need a better justification than that. So what
- 6:20Speaker 6: if your cousin is a better writer than you are?
- 6:24Speaker 6: The very fact that you're the one sitting down and
- 6:26Speaker 6: you're like, man, I'm going to write novels. That's a
- 6:28Speaker 6: thing I'm going to do. That is your justification for
- 6:31Speaker 6: being a writer. Not the fact that, oh, man, well,
- 6:33Speaker 6: I entered this writing competition. I won all the awards
- 6:36Speaker 6: back in fifth grade. Like, that is not the justification
- 6:38Speaker 6: for anything.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Right?
- 6:40Speaker 6: Don't let your talent or lack of talent or any
- 6:43Speaker 6: of that stuff define what you think you need to
- 6:46Speaker 6: be doing with your life. Because ultimately, it's whatever it
- 6:49Speaker 6: is that you are doing with your life. You know,
- 6:52Speaker 6: that's the circular answer for that one. So, hey, man,
- 6:55Speaker 6: I'm just saying there may be better podcasts out there.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I don't believe it.
- 6:59Speaker 6: But yours is the only one I want to be on.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Mine is the only one that I give my time
- 7:05Speaker 4: and soul to produce.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 1: And that's why I try to reach out to people
- 7:11Speaker 1: and be like, if you believe in any of this
- 7:13Speaker 1: nonsense that I do, and there's a handful of people
- 7:16Speaker 1: that do, I realize there's a lot of people that
- 7:18Speaker 1: just don't care. And I've come to terms with that
- 7:21Speaker 1: over the years. But I'm like, if there's anyone out
- 7:23Speaker 1: there that hasn't signed on but is like, no, I
- 7:26Speaker 1: at least respect what you're trying to do and respect
- 7:29Speaker 1: that you're still at it this far in, just kick
- 7:32Speaker 1: in a couple of bucks. And it does give me faith.
- 7:35Speaker 1: The fact that the handful of people that have so far,
- 7:37Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, at least this group of people
- 7:41Speaker 1: is like, you know, I appreciate the effort you put in.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I like how much work you put into, like, booking
- 7:46Speaker 1: guests or– Again, just getting you guys to sit down
- 7:49Speaker 1: with me. That's why sometimes it goes as far as
- 7:52Speaker 1: years go by and I'm like, oh, I haven't sat
- 7:54Speaker 1: down with Sterling in a long time. It's just coordinating
- 7:57Speaker 1: people to sit down and talk about something is such
- 8:00Speaker 1: an ordeal.
- 8:00Speaker 6: But hey, beyond all that work that you do and
- 8:03Speaker 6: everything else, which you do work very hard and we
- 8:05Speaker 6: appreciate that. I will say it's really remarkable that you've
- 8:09Speaker 6: been able to put together under your own steam such
- 8:11Speaker 6: a fine and excellent quality podcast from week to week.
- 8:15Speaker 6: I will give you that credit.
- 8:16Speaker 3: And I say this.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I say that, but if you say that, I appreciate it.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Believe me, I say it partly because, you know, speaking
- 8:21Speaker 6: as a man for whom like half of my friends
- 8:23Speaker 6: are imaginary and the other half are on podcasts, yours
- 8:27Speaker 6: is one of my favorite.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Well, that's kind of awesome.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So thank you. Absolutely, man.
- 8:32Speaker 4: If you guys feel that way, yeah, go to moviemeltdown.com.
- 8:36Speaker 4: The Patreon link is right there on the side.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Help keep this dream alive.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Damn the man.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Save the meltdown.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Where I stole it from.
