- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning. This is 94.9 News Now and Stimulating Talk.
- 0:04Speaker 1: And we're trying to bring you a great show today.
- 0:07Speaker 1: We are going to have Matt Corey in at 8
- 0:09Speaker 1: to 9 answering your calls and talking about the state
- 0:12Speaker 1: of politics in Connecticut. And then we're going to have
- 0:15Speaker 1: Michael Goldstein on from 8 to 9 o'clock answering your calls.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Both people will be live in studio. We're going to
- 0:24Speaker 1: start out today talking about the scandal of the HP1 program. First,
- 0:29Speaker 1: my name is George Agnelli. I own a couple businesses
- 0:33Speaker 1: up in the Glastonbury area. I fill in for Gary Byron,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and I am on his show weekly. So I'm here
- 0:40Speaker 1: to help fill in and help stimulate you guys and
- 0:44Speaker 1: get you guys up to speed what's going on in
- 0:46Speaker 1: the country. And I'll take your calls. I'll take your criticisms.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I'll take a good debate any time you want to
- 0:55Speaker 1: call in. The number is 860-464-9490. My name, again, is
- 1:02Speaker 1: George Agnelli. So this HP1 scandal that's going on that
- 1:06Speaker 1: has been figured out appears to be a conflict between
- 1:10Speaker 1: two separate concepts, Hamashi-Parashi private university fake degree scandal in
- 1:16Speaker 1: India and corporate subscriptions like Hewlett-Packard's Instant Inc. However, the
- 1:21Speaker 1: phrase really goes back to the north side of Himalaya Padash,
- 1:27Speaker 1: where there is just a huge scandal at these universities. Basically,
- 1:31Speaker 1: small universities in India found there were only 5,000 genuine
- 1:39Speaker 1: degrees given out by the college, and 36,000 were completely fake.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And so what has happened is you paid $ 4, 000 American.
- 1:49Speaker 1: To these colleges, and they gave you degrees. They backdated
- 1:55Speaker 1: you so you look like you graduated. They even built
- 2:00Speaker 1: your resume to help you out, and then you had
- 2:03Speaker 1: to pay 20% of your salary back to them. The
- 2:08Speaker 1: Revenue Indians Enforcement Director, E.D., determined that this single university
- 2:15Speaker 1: generated over $ 46 million U.S. dollars over the last 11 years.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And Trump is about to yank 200,000 visas that have
- 2:28Speaker 1: graduated from these colleges in India. And what they're planning
- 2:32Speaker 1: on doing is, you know, how do you do this?
- 2:36Speaker 1: You come here and you lie to your wife, probably
- 2:39Speaker 1: have a couple kids, you.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Own a house. Oh, I'm an engineer. I'm this.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I met you on a dating site and you got
- 2:45Speaker 1: married now and you have kids and everything you did
- 2:48Speaker 1: in your background is completely false. So how does this
- 2:52Speaker 1: how is this going to work out? We're going to
- 2:55Speaker 1: be losing 200000 people that were not qualified that took
- 2:58Speaker 1: American jobs. You know, when you start thinking about all
- 3:01Speaker 1: these different things that that happened in this, your mind
- 3:05Speaker 1: just spins that they are able to figure out 4040.
- 3:07Speaker 1: It's a 45 million dollar scam. So they also had
- 3:12Speaker 1: ghost offices and sham companies set up fake entities or
- 3:16Speaker 1: nonexistent projects solely to file lottery and visa applications. And
- 3:21Speaker 1: so basically what they did was they made a background
- 3:23Speaker 1: that you worked in engineering, you had a job, you
- 3:27Speaker 1: worked for a certain company, and the company never even existed,
- 3:30Speaker 1: but you had an 800 number to call, and you
- 3:32Speaker 1: had somebody behind the computer that actually answered the phone,
- 3:37Speaker 1: had your resume, could tell how great of a person
- 3:39Speaker 1: you were, By the resume they actually made up.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And they were doing this.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And they kept American workers on the bench. And it
- 3:49Speaker 1: just hurt unbelievably. And they submitted multiple coordinating registrations for
- 3:54Speaker 1: single applicants to unfairly boost selection odds. So if you
- 4:00Speaker 1: read in the paper that, oh, I need an engineering
- 4:02Speaker 1: degree in computer science, they built your system. Resume and
- 4:09Speaker 1: your college and all your experience basically for that job,
- 4:13Speaker 1: taking it away from an American person. And they basically
- 4:17Speaker 1: helped you learn. And then the big thing is they
- 4:19Speaker 1: did wage kickbacks. They had to return part of their
- 4:23Speaker 1: legal salary back to the person that did this whole
- 4:27Speaker 1: program for them. So they're using fake academic degrees and
- 4:32Speaker 1: falsifying job histories to meet specialized skill thresholds. So if
- 4:39Speaker 1: you look at all this stuff, you know, and this
- 4:41Speaker 1: is just amazing the amount of fraud that's going on
- 4:43Speaker 1: between the universities, between the built scan.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I mean, you just think about this.
- 4:48Speaker 1: If they actually put their mind to good work, what
- 4:50Speaker 1: they would have done great for the for India and
- 4:53Speaker 1: for the United States. I just don't see how this is,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you know, going to going to crack down. But it's
- 4:59Speaker 1: not going to be good because there's going to be 200,000
- 5:02Speaker 1: job openings in the United States and there's going to
- 5:04Speaker 1: be jobs to fill there. And we're not going to
- 5:07Speaker 1: be able to use this HB1 to help fill jobs
- 5:10Speaker 1: that we do need because we won't trust where it's
- 5:12Speaker 1: coming from. And about 80% of the fraud they found
- 5:16Speaker 1: so far is through India. But now that they're looking
- 5:19Speaker 1: into China, they're starting to see that that's another big
- 5:22Speaker 1: area of the same problems going on. This story is
- 5:26Speaker 1: just starting to break in the last couple of days,
- 5:29Speaker 1: and it's going to unfold to be a pretty wild thing.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Attorney....
- 5:36Speaker 1: The attorney general in Ken Paxton in Texas has launched
- 5:40Speaker 1: sweeping investigations into dozens of local sham companies and ghost
- 5:44Speaker 1: offices using fake job postings. And then what they're doing
- 5:49Speaker 1: is they're creating fake job postings for a company that
- 5:52Speaker 1: doesn't exist to get people the visas to come over here.
- 5:56Speaker 1: So it's like a three-ring circles plus. So now that
- 6:01Speaker 1: they're using, they're getting people over here and.
- 6:07Speaker 1: And what Ken Paxton is saying is they built companies
- 6:09Speaker 1: saying they need this job, and they don't even have
- 6:11Speaker 1: the job. But once they get over here on a visa,
- 6:15Speaker 1: then they move around and they find the fraud and
- 6:17Speaker 1: everything else. So now there is a fraud investigation going
- 6:22Speaker 1: on with this HB1, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
- 6:28Speaker 1: has just put out a big bulletin saying the HB1
- 6:31Speaker 1: visa program should help U.S. companies recruit highly scaled aliens...
- 6:35Speaker 1: when there is a shortage of quality workers in the country. Yet,
- 6:38Speaker 1: too many American workers who are qualified, willing, and deserving
- 6:41Speaker 1: of the work in these fields have been ignored or
- 6:43Speaker 1: unfairly disadvantaged. Employers who abuse the HB1 visa program may
- 6:49Speaker 1: negatively affect U.S. workers, decreasing wages and opportunities as they
- 6:56Speaker 1: import foreign workers. Protecting American workers by combating fraud in
- 7:00Speaker 1: the employment-based immigration programs is a priority for U.S.
- 7:05Speaker 2: S.C.I.S.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Continuously works to deter and defraud fraud and immigration. Other
- 7:11Speaker 1: departments going on. Increasing sites, visits, interviews, investigations and petitioners
- 7:16Speaker 1: who use the HB one visa program. These efforts will
- 7:20Speaker 1: assist in prosecuting and violators. American workers are not overlooked
- 7:24Speaker 1: in the process. I think we need to get rid
- 7:26Speaker 1: of the HB one process all the way around. I
- 7:29Speaker 1: think we need to relook at it and we need
- 7:31Speaker 1: to take a strong hold on it. and figure out
- 7:35Speaker 1: what is going on. But if we're paying foreign people
- 7:40Speaker 1: less money to come here, we're creating a bigger housing shortage,
- 7:43Speaker 1: which we already have. We're creating less work for the
- 7:46Speaker 1: people that are capable, and we're getting rid of competition
- 7:49Speaker 1: in the workplace. Because if you need the employees and
- 7:52Speaker 1: you can't find them, then you're going to be willing
- 7:53Speaker 1: to pay a better wage to get that person here. Again,
- 7:58Speaker 1: it's a lot of corporate profit. It's always about corporate
- 8:01Speaker 1: profit and Things like that. And I just believe that,
- 8:05Speaker 1: you know, we need to change probably the whole system
- 8:08Speaker 1: for it to work right. And we'll take your calls
- 8:11Speaker 1: on it at, you know, 860-464-9490. If anybody wants to
- 8:15Speaker 1: call in and talk about this or if you've seen
- 8:17Speaker 1: scams like this going on. I think it's something that,
- 8:20Speaker 1: you know, really in the next week or so you'll
- 8:23Speaker 1: see brought.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Up to the public.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So then the other thing I'd like to talk about
- 8:32Speaker 1: is the EV scandal that's going on where you and
- 8:38Speaker 1: I are paying for your neighbor's EV charger. So Connecticut
- 8:43Speaker 1: subsidizes EVs and then charges no extra road fee for them.
- 8:48Speaker 1: So there is a small group of EV purchasers with incentives,
- 8:52Speaker 1: and they get purchase rebates.
- 8:54Speaker 2: They get it.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And when you see all these stations out there that
- 8:59Speaker 1: are at businesses where they're charging, they got paid $ 10, 000
- 9:02Speaker 1: or $ 12, 000 or $ 15, 000 to put those in. And what
- 9:08Speaker 1: happens is that money all went into the public benefits bill.
- 9:11Speaker 1: So your neighbor got a free charger, but you and
- 9:14Speaker 1: I paid for it. It's just craziness that goes on. Now,
- 9:17Speaker 1: we are only one of nine states that does not
- 9:21Speaker 1: charge for EVs, does not have a surcharge, does not
- 9:24Speaker 1: have that. EV owners pay $ 270 annually in most towns.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Even Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Vermont now have
- 9:34Speaker 1: a fee for it because they realize that they're killing
- 9:38Speaker 1: the economy because they're not buying taxes for the gasoline.
- 9:41Speaker 1: So they're using the roads. The cars are much heavier.
- 9:45Speaker 1: They're doing it. And it's just craziness that we are
- 9:49Speaker 1: only one of nine states that is not charging for EVs,
- 9:54Speaker 1: any purchase whatsoever. So there's no clean air fee, there's
- 9:59Speaker 1: no transportation fee, and right now we have 73 registered
- 10:05Speaker 1: electric and plug-in vehicles, a 20% increase over the previous year,
- 10:12Speaker 1: and still account for roughly 3% of the vehicles registered
- 10:15Speaker 1: in the state, but that number is rising. So the
- 10:18Speaker 1: state is pushing to do this. We don't have enough charges.
- 10:22Speaker 1: We don't have enough electricity. And it's craziness that we're
- 10:28Speaker 1: not making this a level playing field.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Okay?
- 10:35Speaker 1: Connecticut residents pay as much as $ 5, 000 to buy an
- 10:38Speaker 1: EV using a program financed partly through fees imposed on
- 10:41Speaker 1: other motorists.
- 10:43Speaker 2: So not only are we paying it through the.
- 10:48Speaker 2: We're not only paying these fees.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Through that, we're getting charged a fee when we register
- 10:53Speaker 1: our vehicles to cover their vehicles.
- 10:56Speaker 2: So as this goes.
- 10:57Speaker 1: On and it continues to go on, I don't know
- 11:00Speaker 1: where we're going to wind up, but I'm tired of
- 11:03Speaker 1: paying for somebody else's things at a stake. I like
- 11:10Speaker 1: electric vehicles. They look fine to me. It's not for
- 11:13Speaker 1: me personally, but I believe that we can do much
- 11:17Speaker 1: better than where we are. and that everybody should pay
- 11:21Speaker 1: a fair fee. That's what everybody wants. Everybody pays the
- 11:24Speaker 1: same taxes. So, again, I'll take any of your questions.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I know I'm new to the radio, and any time
- 11:31Speaker 1: you can help me out, I appreciate it.
- 11:34Speaker 6: Thank you. From Main Street.

- 24:09Speaker 1: Hi, this is George Agnelli, and I'm on 94.9 News
- 24:13Speaker 1: Now and Stimulating Talk.
- 24:14Speaker 2: And we're going to take a call from Pete from Northford. Hey, Pete.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Hey, good morning, George.
- 24:21Speaker 41: How are you this morning?
- 24:22Speaker 42: Good.
- 24:22Speaker 2: How are you?
- 24:23Speaker 43: I'm doing well.
- 24:24Speaker 41: Hey, congratulations on your spot here.
- 24:26Speaker 43: You're doing well.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Thank you. I appreciate it.
- 24:28Speaker 41: My question to you is regarding this college fraud, these
- 24:35Speaker 41: degree frauds that are going on that stemming from India, correct?
- 24:40Speaker 1: So 80% of it right now is from India and
- 24:42Speaker 1: 20% is from China, but they think the China mess
- 24:44Speaker 1: might even be bigger.
- 24:46Speaker 2: But they don't have it. They're working on it.
- 24:48Speaker 1: The India mess is the one they've been working on,
- 24:50Speaker 1: and it's getting to be pretty huge.
- 24:55Speaker 18: Okay.
- 24:56Speaker 41: My question then is it seems like Ken Paxson, right,
- 25:00Speaker 41: from Texas, is initiating the lawsuit here.
- 25:03Speaker 1: He's initiated the lawsuit, and he's uncovered a lot of
- 25:07Speaker 1: the fraud. They were doing shell companies to get people
- 25:09Speaker 1: over here, creating jobs, and then they were creating degrees
- 25:12Speaker 1: for the jobs. So once the gentleman got over here,
- 25:15Speaker 1: they could apply for other jobs. But then they had
- 25:17Speaker 1: to give back 20% of their pay. And some of
- 25:21Speaker 1: these universities, you paid $ 4, 000. So not only did they
- 25:26Speaker 1: give you a degree, they backdated all your classes so
- 25:29Speaker 1: it looked like you got your degree six years ago
- 25:31Speaker 1: or eight years ago. and then created a phony company
- 25:35Speaker 1: to call up and say, hey, I'm looking at Joe Smith.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Can you tell me about, oh, great guy. He worked
- 25:40Speaker 1: here for six years, and they have everything in the
- 25:42Speaker 1: whole system. And somebody answering the phone is following the
- 25:45Speaker 1: whole program.
- 25:47Speaker 35: Right.
- 25:47Speaker 41: Well, I guess my point here is this. I can't
- 25:50Speaker 41: imagine that this kind of fraud is isolated to one
- 25:58Speaker 41: state or anything like that. So I guess what are
- 26:03Speaker 41: the chances, in your opinion, that blue states– because Paxton
- 26:07Speaker 41: is running for senator from Texas.
- 26:09Speaker 18: We all know that.
- 26:10Speaker 41: So what are the chances that blue states, especially here
- 26:14Speaker 41: in Connecticut– because I'm sure this fraud is all over
- 26:16Speaker 41: the country.
- 26:18Speaker 2: It's all over the world. They found it in Dubai.
- 26:20Speaker 2: They found it all over the world.
- 26:22Speaker 43: Right.
- 26:23Speaker 41: But seeing now that we have a sue-happy attorney general
- 26:27Speaker 41: here in the state of Connecticut– What are the chances
- 26:30Speaker 41: of Connecticut joining in on this lawsuit and trying to
- 26:33Speaker 41: stop this kind of fraud from going on here in
- 26:34Speaker 41: the state and costing us taxpayers money?
- 26:36Speaker 2: Well, you have one problem.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Trump is– this is basically not going to be against Trump,
- 26:42Speaker 1: so he's not going to.
- 26:43Speaker 2: File a lawsuit.
- 26:45Speaker 44: Right.
- 26:45Speaker 2: He only filed lawsuits against Trump.
- 26:48Speaker 36: Right.
- 26:48Speaker 41: So basically then this sounds like it's a partisan kind
- 26:52Speaker 41: of a thing and that once again– you know, the
- 26:55Speaker 41: Democrats will do whatever they need to do to protect
- 26:57Speaker 41: whatever kind of fraud that's going to benefit them.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Well, it could be, but I mean, if once, once
- 27:02Speaker 1: Trump pulls the visas, then he's pulled the visas. So,
- 27:06Speaker 1: you know, but can you imagine if you're married and
- 27:08Speaker 1: you said to your wife on an online dating app, Oh,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I'm an engineer and I work for Texas general and
- 27:13Speaker 1: going on and on and on. And you have two
- 27:15Speaker 1: kids in the house and then you find out the
- 27:17Speaker 1: whole guy was a fraud the whole time.
- 27:19Speaker 35: Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 2: That's going to happen in a lot of households.
- 27:23Speaker 41: Absolutely.
- 27:23Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 27:24Speaker 41: Now, So this is just to benefit future calls and
- 27:29Speaker 41: maybe what you're doing here this morning, but it's very
- 27:31Speaker 41: difficult for me to hear you on my phone when
- 27:34Speaker 41: I'm talking to you.
- 27:35Speaker 18: You're very, very light.
- 27:36Speaker 41: I don't know if you could do anything about that
- 27:38Speaker 41: on your end, but it's very difficult for me to
- 27:41Speaker 41: hear you.
- 27:41Speaker 2: We appreciate it.
- 27:43Speaker 36: Okay.
- 27:43Speaker 18: Hey, good luck today.
- 27:44Speaker 11: Thanks for taking my call.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Yes, thank you. Thanks for calling.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Before we take the next call, I've got to read this.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Full Power Radio quick update. We are still in negotiation
- 27:51Speaker 1: and working through the remaining details. for our regularly scheduled program.
- 27:55Speaker 1: On a side note, the rumble feed is now up
- 27:57Speaker 1: and running. And we'll go to Jan and Eastline.
- 28:03Speaker 43: Good morning, George.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Good morning, Jan.
- 28:05Speaker 45: Yep, you're very low. I can barely hear you.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sorry. I'll talk louder.
- 28:13Speaker 45: Okay, I'm just letting you know Pete and I are
- 28:16Speaker 45: having the same problem. You know, I looked this morning
- 28:19Speaker 45: when I... I'm glad you alerted us to this problem.
- 28:22Speaker 45: So I dug in for a few minutes. You know
- 28:26Speaker 45: that this scandal was exposed by the Indonesian press in
- 28:34Speaker 45: June of 2025, and the American press picked it up
- 28:41Speaker 45: a few, but not very much, not very many, about
- 28:46Speaker 45: nine months ago, and they still have almost nothing on this.
- 28:52Speaker 45: And this is our problem, I think, the media. When
- 28:55Speaker 45: people talk about the dangers to democracy, I think one
- 28:59Speaker 45: of the big dangers is the media. They didn't report this.
- 29:02Speaker 45: Why would that be?
- 29:04Speaker 1: Well, because, you know, I don't know that they're being
- 29:06Speaker 1: paid off, but there's guys like Stephen Mandel who's funding,
- 29:10Speaker 1: you know, people to run that are more to follow
- 29:14Speaker 1: his rule. And, you know, like he gave Luke Bronin $ 265, 000
- 29:16Speaker 1: for three weeks of mentoring. To help him do some
- 29:24Speaker 1: filing and then helped him beat John Larson because John
- 29:28Speaker 1: Larson wouldn't take Mandel's money and he wouldn't agree to
- 29:32Speaker 1: all the things that Mandel wanted, so.
- 29:34Speaker 2: He found a replacement.
- 29:35Speaker 1: So there's some big, big dollar people with a lot
- 29:38Speaker 1: of money controlling politics. the politics of the Democrats. And
- 29:42Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't, you know, listen to,
- 29:45Speaker 1: you know, go to some of these stations or to
- 29:49Speaker 1: some of these broadcasters and see if they weren't getting
- 29:52Speaker 1: contributed money from these people to control the narrative. The
- 29:56Speaker 1: news is supposed to be the news, good news or
- 29:58Speaker 1: bad news. I own a real estate company. Yes, your
- 30:00Speaker 1: house is closing. We're going to close in four days.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Bad news is you can't be out in four days. OK,
- 30:05Speaker 1: I go tell the other person we negotiated. Hey, I'm
- 30:08Speaker 1: sorry your sale fell through. It's just the news. The
- 30:11Speaker 1: sale fell through. We'll sell to the next person. So
- 30:15Speaker 1: I this is what's happened in the news. And there's
- 30:17Speaker 1: just no legitimacy in the news anymore. You don't believe anything.
- 30:21Speaker 1: everything that you hear coming out, and then you don't
- 30:24Speaker 1: hear the things that you need to hear, the truth,
- 30:26Speaker 1: what's really happening, the one-man control of the state. The
- 30:29Speaker 1: state of Connecticut Democratic Party is being run by Stephen Mandel.
- 30:33Speaker 1: He's set up trusts. He's set up hedge funds. You
- 30:37Speaker 1: can Google it, read about it. It's not hidden news,
- 30:40Speaker 1: but you'll never hear about it on Channel 3, Channel
- 30:43Speaker 1: 3 Channel 8. But I will tell you this. The
- 30:45Speaker 1: biggest scam going on is on the 28th of September.
- 30:50Speaker 1: that Governor Lamont is having a nuclear conference between all
- 30:54Speaker 1: the governors, and they're going to talk about how much
- 30:56Speaker 1: they're going to promote nuclear energy, and it'll be all
- 30:59Speaker 1: over three, it'll be all over 30, and everybody will
- 31:01Speaker 1: think that they're straightening out the problem.
- 31:03Speaker 2: And guess what's going to happen? Zero.
- 31:05Speaker 1: It's six weeks before the election, and all it is
- 31:08Speaker 1: is going to be a big scam, and you'll read
- 31:09Speaker 1: about it on all the different stations.
- 31:12Speaker 45: Well, I think you probably know that Tony D found
- 31:16Speaker 45: out the paperwork for $ 70 million that Lamont earmarked for
- 31:23Speaker 45: the media. So there's that. And George Soros has been
- 31:27Speaker 45: buying up radio stations. He goes in there and crashes
- 31:31Speaker 45: them in some way and then buys them up. We
- 31:34Speaker 45: know this happened down in Virginia as well. So there's
- 31:41Speaker 45: also that. So there's the media scandal. And there's our
- 31:44Speaker 45: own school scandal that, unfortunately, our students are not prepared
- 31:50Speaker 45: because of a lot of reasons. But some of it
- 31:56Speaker 45: seems very intentional to dumb down our schools. Now, you
- 32:00Speaker 45: brought up an interesting problem. You have all these people
- 32:03Speaker 45: living in the country, and they married people here. Maybe
- 32:07Speaker 45: they brought a family over. They had children here. Now
- 32:11Speaker 45: they're citizens. And the question is going to be, do
- 32:14Speaker 45: you get to have citizenship when you're in the midst
- 32:17Speaker 45: of an ongoing crime? Because as long as, it would
- 32:20Speaker 45: seem to me, as long as you're holding a job
- 32:23Speaker 45: and adding to a resume that is fake at the core,
- 32:28Speaker 45: that's an ongoing fraud, a crime. So now we have
- 32:33Speaker 45: those questions. And what do these questions do? They divide us.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, there's no question that it's going to divide us.
- 32:40Speaker 1: There's no question that these people came here illegally. They
- 32:43Speaker 1: have illegal degrees. You know, there's some sort of penalty
- 32:47Speaker 1: for it. So, OK, we'll allow you to leave the
- 32:49Speaker 1: country and you pay no penalty and you have to go. Or,
- 32:52Speaker 1: you know, and you feel bad if you're married and
- 32:55Speaker 1: you have children in the country, then you're going to
- 32:57Speaker 1: have to work something out. But you shouldn't have the
- 32:59Speaker 1: job and you should have to pay back your employer.
- 33:01Speaker 1: You should have to pay back some penalty to the state.
- 33:04Speaker 1: You know, there should be some sort of fines. Well,
- 33:07Speaker 1: if you're going to stay here as a married individual
- 33:09Speaker 1: but you came here under false pretenses, there's a $ 5, 000
- 33:13Speaker 1: fine so that every person has to pay a $ 5, 000
- 33:16Speaker 1: or $ 10, 000 fine back to the country to help pay
- 33:19Speaker 1: off our national debt. There has to be something. I'm
- 33:23Speaker 1: just throwing out ideas, but it's just things that we
- 33:25Speaker 1: need to talk about and things that.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Need to be discussed.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Because if you did marry a person in this country,
- 33:31Speaker 1: then you will have a right to be here. It
- 33:32Speaker 1: means you still have to leave and refile for, you know,
- 33:36Speaker 1: so if you marry somebody here, it's not like they
- 33:38Speaker 1: get to live here. They have to go back to
- 33:40Speaker 1: their home country for 12 to 24 months until all
- 33:42Speaker 1: the paperwork is processed.
- 33:45Speaker 4: Right.
- 33:45Speaker 45: And sometimes that goes pretty easily. But I would think
- 33:48Speaker 45: there's a difference between If you brought a spouse over
- 33:54Speaker 45: and had children here, then the spouse was probably part
- 34:00Speaker 45: of the ongoing crime, too, whatever. But it becomes really sticky.
- 34:04Speaker 6: If you marry an.
- 34:05Speaker 45: American citizen over here, well, then your kids have citizenship.
- 34:09Speaker 11: Correct.
- 34:09Speaker 45: And you have to go, whether or not you should
- 34:12Speaker 45: come back when you perpetuated this fraud. I mean, let's
- 34:15Speaker 45: look at the deeper implications of this fraud. Somebody comes
- 34:19Speaker 45: over here, taking one-to-one example, gets a job. The American
- 34:25Speaker 45: who actually has the degree because of affirmative action, whatever
- 34:31Speaker 45: you want to call it, doesn't get the job. Now,
- 34:35Speaker 45: that person now is delivering at DoorDash while they look
- 34:42Speaker 45: for a low-level job, and they have five years that
- 34:47Speaker 45: they've missed of income. Who compensates them?
- 34:50Speaker 2: Right. That's the big problem.
- 34:51Speaker 1: The other problem you have is that by bringing 200,000
- 34:54Speaker 1: or 300,000 people over for certain jobs, you keep that
- 34:57Speaker 1: job down. So if there's a need in the United
- 35:00Speaker 1: States for plumbers, which we know we need, electricians, which
- 35:04Speaker 1: we know we need, and you're going to have to
- 35:06Speaker 1: pay them through the nose, then we have to Do
- 35:09Speaker 1: the same thing here. So if that job, that engineering
- 35:11Speaker 1: job should be $ 150, 000 a year, and because we're bringing 200,000
- 35:16Speaker 1: engineers over from other countries, we're keeping it at 100,000,
- 35:20Speaker 1: we're only hurting ourselves.
- 35:22Speaker 45: Right. And what about some of the American companies? Some
- 35:25Speaker 45: of them may have known. There's just a really deep
- 35:29Speaker 45: well here. But it's really sad to think that our country... is,
- 35:36Speaker 45: first of all, such a soft target, and second of all,
- 35:40Speaker 45: I can't believe this went on without complicit Americans. Our
- 35:45Speaker 45: corruption is so deep because if you lived through the
- 35:48Speaker 45: fall of the Soviet Union at that time, what brought
- 35:53Speaker 45: down the Soviet Union was corruption.
- 35:55Speaker 8: Yes.
- 35:56Speaker 2: So I have to go to another call. This is
- 35:57Speaker 2: Frank in Watertown. All right.
- 35:58Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 35:59Speaker 2: And thank you very much, Jan.
- 36:02Speaker 11: Hey, George.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Hey, Frank. How are you doing?
- 36:05Speaker 17: Good.
- 36:06Speaker 43: I was listening with the H-1 visa. I know for
- 36:10Speaker 43: a fact, a while back, and this is in Connecticut,
- 36:16Speaker 43: Travelers Insurance, and if you follow the money, medium management
- 36:21Speaker 43: was forced to take in people from India. They laid
- 36:27Speaker 43: off and fired American workers because of the higher rate
- 36:32Speaker 43: of pay they were getting, and the medium... management was
- 36:36Speaker 43: made to teach the people from India the ropes in
- 36:41Speaker 43: traveler's insurance. And I'll bet you a dime to a dollar,
- 36:46Speaker 43: they probably had certificates probably from that college or a
- 36:50Speaker 43: different college and a scam, and they probably got away
- 36:54Speaker 43: with it. It was just a follow-the-money situation. And I'll
- 36:58Speaker 43: bet you a dime to a dollar, George, the Democrats
- 37:02Speaker 43: are going to pick up on this and say we're
- 37:03Speaker 43: picking on foreign people and we need to have them
- 37:07Speaker 43: here because americans wouldn't work on a job and when
- 37:10Speaker 43: trump is looking to protect the american worker.
- 37:15Speaker 1: What do you think well there's no question so all
- 37:18Speaker 1: all trump has to do is do the opposite for
- 37:21Speaker 1: them to do what he needs them to do you
- 37:23Speaker 1: know so you know again if he if he uh
- 37:27Speaker 1: said that he's going to take uh uh uh, gun
- 37:31Speaker 1: rights away from trans people, he'd fight for the Democrats
- 37:34Speaker 1: would fight for gun rights for trans people. All of
- 37:36Speaker 1: a sudden they'd be fighting for gun rights. You know
- 37:38Speaker 1: what I mean? So it's just, it's the way, it's
- 37:40Speaker 1: the way it is. You know, this scrutiny revealed that
- 37:43Speaker 1: tens of thousands of fake it engineering business diplomas that
- 37:47Speaker 1: were flowing out of India and China. Now it looks
- 37:50Speaker 1: like it might, you know, it might top India for, uh,
- 37:54Speaker 1: for this stuff. And, um, Again, one small university with 5,000
- 38:02Speaker 1: people said the scam is about $ 45 million. I don't
- 38:04Speaker 1: think we have a way to go after that money
- 38:06Speaker 1: because it's in the– sorry, $ 46 million.
- 38:09Speaker 43: This is going to go on, I think, towards the midterms.
- 38:14Speaker 43: I think it's going to be a plus for us.
- 38:17Speaker 1: The chaos that's going on with all the different things
- 38:20Speaker 1: they're doing and how liberal– I'm a Democrat, but my
- 38:24Speaker 1: party has left me. You know, I've built a homeless shelter.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I've built a youth center in my lifetime. I have
- 38:31Speaker 1: done a lot for a lot of people. I started
- 38:32Speaker 1: a Coats for Kids program where we buy 100 underprivileged
- 38:36Speaker 1: kids winter coats in East Hartford every year. And Rotary
- 38:39Speaker 1: Club picked up on that program when I was tired
- 38:42Speaker 1: of running it with the Kiwanis Club.
- 38:44Speaker 2: And it continues.
- 38:46Speaker 1: And these are the things that you do for people
- 38:47Speaker 1: that are in need, but not for the people in
- 38:50Speaker 1: need of fraud. You know, there's people that will become homeless,
- 38:52Speaker 1: and there will be times that they need somebody in
- 38:54Speaker 1: their life. And, you know, I take care of some people,
- 38:57Speaker 1: and the state of Connecticut, you know, just isn't doing
- 39:01Speaker 1: the job the way it's supposed to be doing. And
- 39:03Speaker 1: they're not taking care of their citizens. They're taking care
- 39:05Speaker 1: of the aliens. And I don't understand why they're putting
- 39:08Speaker 1: the aliens first over their citizens.
- 39:11Speaker 2: But it's a choice they took.
- 39:12Speaker 1: And if we keep putting them back in power, then
- 39:15Speaker 1: we have to agree that we're going to allow that
- 39:18Speaker 1: to continue to happen.
- 39:20Speaker 2: There has to be a stand.
- 39:20Speaker 43: You're probably becoming a dinosaur Democrat.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that's what's happening. I still believe in the
- 39:26Speaker 1: working guy. I still believe in fairness. I still believe in.
- 39:30Speaker 1: all the different things. And I just don't, I'm just
- 39:32Speaker 1: hoping that one day my party actually comes back to reality.
- 39:36Speaker 43: I doubt it. I think you're going to probably just.
- 39:38Speaker 18: Have to be a Republican.
- 39:39Speaker 2: That's good. That's common. Gary's pushing every day for that.
- 39:42Speaker 43: Well, yeah, well, you know, we love you anyway. And, uh,
- 39:46Speaker 43: Democrat or Republican, there's good sides on every side, and
- 39:51Speaker 43: hopefully you'll pop over.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 39:54Speaker 43: We'll take you as you are.
- 39:56Speaker 11: All right.

- 54:21Speaker 2: I've got a lot of other things I'm doing. It's
- 54:24Speaker 2: fun to fill in.
- 54:25Speaker 52: Good.
- 54:26Speaker 2: So anyway, let's talk about this gas pipeline. I mean,
- 54:29Speaker 2: they say we'll save a billion dollars if we can
- 54:31Speaker 2: get the gas pipeline from Pennsylvania instead of buying our
- 54:34Speaker 2: gas from Canada. And it doesn't seem to get any
- 54:37Speaker 2: traction in the state of Connecticut.
- 54:39Speaker 26: Well, hopefully we can get somebody in Washington to actually
- 54:41Speaker 26: work with this administration to go after Governor Hochul and
- 54:46Speaker 26: Governor Haley first. for that matter, up in Massachusetts. We
- 54:48Speaker 26: need to expand that gas pipeline. Everything is run on energy.
- 54:51Speaker 26: You look at the businesses around the state of Connecticut
- 54:54Speaker 26: leaving because of high energy costs. We just lost a
- 54:57Speaker 26: great manufacturing company, Lead Himmel in Hamden, and they were
- 55:01Speaker 26: complaining two years ago about the rising price of energy
- 55:06Speaker 26: along with the public benefits charges on their electric bill.
- 55:09Speaker 26: They were paying a half a million dollars.
- 55:11Speaker 23: A year just for electricity alone.
- 55:13Speaker 26: That's a huge chunk of money. And you have to
- 55:16Speaker 26: remember in Connecticut, We are on a global market. They're
- 55:19Speaker 26: not just competing with other states like North Carolina or Tennessee.
- 55:22Speaker 26: They're competing globally. And it was one of the specialty
- 55:25Speaker 26: manufacturers who worked with aluminum, and they had left the state.
- 55:29Speaker 26: So we definitely need to expand that gas pipeline. We
- 55:32Speaker 26: definitely need more nuclear energy. We just signed the— I mean,
- 55:35Speaker 26: I know Eversource is always the scapegoat. They do what
- 55:39Speaker 26: the governor says. When you sign a 20-year contract with
- 55:42Speaker 26: Quonset Point at twice of what it costs to put
- 55:45Speaker 26: out kilowatt per hour— and you're looking at nuclear at
- 55:48Speaker 26: half the price, there's a huge issue there. Connecticut is
- 55:51Speaker 26: paying almost double what the national average is in kilowatt
- 55:54Speaker 26: per hour. So everything is run on energy. Affordability is
- 55:58Speaker 26: run on energy. Businesses need certainty. That's why they go
- 56:02Speaker 26: to places that have certainty, not only with energy costs,
- 56:06Speaker 26: but predictability, whether it's regulations, what the government is going
- 56:11Speaker 26: to say three or four years down the road. So
- 56:14Speaker 26: That's why companies are leaving the state of Connecticut. If
- 56:16Speaker 26: anybody thinks Stanley Black and Decker left because of a
- 56:19Speaker 26: one-sided tape measure, they had the capabilities and the facilities
- 56:23Speaker 26: to expand any of the products they own, and they
- 56:25Speaker 26: own multiple products, a multinational company. They left because they
- 56:29Speaker 26: saw the writing on the wall that Connecticut is not
- 56:32Speaker 26: a place where we can do business and a place
- 56:34Speaker 26: where it's affordable to do business. Excuse me, so. Yeah,
- 56:39Speaker 26: we need lower energy costs here, George.
- 56:41Speaker 2: This is the number one thing.
- 56:43Speaker 1: I think what people don't understand is 38% of our
- 56:46Speaker 1: electricity is produced by natural gas. So when you're buying
- 56:49Speaker 1: natural gas from a foreign country, such as Tibet or
- 56:53Speaker 1: such as Canada, you're paying a ridiculous amount of money.
- 56:56Speaker 1: You can just Google AI chat and say how much
- 57:00Speaker 1: we'll get. And it shows up as it will save
- 57:01Speaker 1: a billion dollars. So you could put, by putting this
- 57:04Speaker 1: gas line in, you could add a billion dollars to
- 57:07Speaker 1: our economy.
- 57:08Speaker 26: So this administration, President Trump's administration, has temporarily halted the
- 57:14Speaker 26: Jones Act, which is great. So now with the hundreds
- 57:17Speaker 26: of millions of dollars that they wasted on the New
- 57:19Speaker 26: London Pier, at least it's dredged out enough to take
- 57:22Speaker 26: in ships from, say, New Orleans with liquid natural gas.
- 57:26Speaker 26: If we can open up a liquid natural gas storage
- 57:29Speaker 26: facilities in the New London area, it's a temporary fix,
- 57:32Speaker 26: but at least relief. The gas prices during the cold
- 57:36Speaker 26: winter months where we're shipping it down, I believe, from Maine,
- 57:39Speaker 26: which costs a lot of money to do that. So
- 57:42Speaker 26: there's so many things that we can do to lower
- 57:45Speaker 26: energy costs here in the state of Connecticut. We need
- 57:46Speaker 26: to look at everything, every option.
- 57:48Speaker 1: No, and there's no question. It just keeps going on
- 57:52Speaker 1: and on and on. New Haven was dredged to build
- 57:56Speaker 1: an oil-to-gas plant. We would save 15 cents a gallon
- 58:00Speaker 1: of gasoline if we had an oil-to-gas plant In the Northeast.
- 58:03Speaker 1: And we don't have one in any of the Northeast states.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Correct.
- 58:06Speaker 1: So one, we would be a lot better on gas.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Imagine for the rest of your life, a governor could
- 58:12Speaker 1: make a sign of order to build something there that
- 58:14Speaker 1: would save you 15 cents a gallon the rest of
- 58:17Speaker 1: your life.
- 58:18Speaker 26: Yeah, it's just amazing.
- 58:19Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 58:20Speaker 1: And then again, New Haven wouldn't have to pay property
- 58:23Speaker 1: tax because... The plant's like $ 3 billion or $ 4 billion.
- 58:27Speaker 26: We are definitely underutilizing our ports here in the state
- 58:30Speaker 26: of Connecticut. We have the three largest ports outside of
- 58:32Speaker 26: New York City. We have Stanford, New London, and New Haven.
- 58:35Speaker 26: If those were dredged, not only could we bring in
- 58:37Speaker 26: natural gas, not only could we bring in energy, we
- 58:40Speaker 26: could also take a lot of those tractor-trailers off the road,
- 58:43Speaker 26: driving up and down our roads on 95. And anybody
- 58:45Speaker 26: that lives south of Bridgeport, south of New Haven, understand
- 58:49Speaker 26: the traffic juggernaut down there that It's just insane. But
- 58:54Speaker 26: we could take so much making shipping facilities and take
- 58:58Speaker 26: a lot of those tractor trailers off the road.
- 59:00Speaker 2: Yeah, no. And tractor trailer trucks burn diesel.
- 59:05Speaker 22: Right.
- 59:05Speaker 1: So you look at the thing that you want to
- 59:08Speaker 1: promote a green economy on the other side. but yet
- 59:10Speaker 1: you don't want to do the things that will make
- 59:12Speaker 1: it greener. That's what I don't understand. It's 100%. All
- 59:17Speaker 1: these things are very simple fixes. They don't seem like
- 59:20Speaker 1: simple fixes, but they are if the government cared to
- 59:23Speaker 1: make them a simple fix.
- 59:24Speaker 26: We have to invest in Connecticut. And they needed a
- 59:27Speaker 26: lot of work. I believe it was $ 300 million to
- 59:29Speaker 26: waste the energy plant that they had in Hartford that
- 59:31Speaker 26: would also lower energy prices but also will take the
- 59:34Speaker 26: trucks off the road. We're paying millions and millions of
- 59:37Speaker 26: millions of dollars to ship our garbage out of state.
- 59:40Speaker 26: And there's going to be a time when those states
- 59:42Speaker 26: are not going to take our trash. I mean, it's
- 59:44Speaker 26: just completely off subject, but it's another... thing that the
- 59:48Speaker 26: state of connecticut is wasting the waste to energy would
- 59:51Speaker 26: help lower energy costs but also take a lot of
- 59:54Speaker 26: trucks off the road and if we're looking at green
- 59:56Speaker 26: things you once again you're burning diesel and you're traveling
- 1:00:00Speaker 26: hundreds hundreds of miles to take our trash out of
- 1:00:03Speaker 26: state it just doesn't make any.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: Sense and it's not and it's not one truck it's
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: thousands of thousands of trucks yeah think about how much
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: trash has to be compacted into small cubicles, and you
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: still have weight limits, so you can only carry so
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: much weight on each truck.
- 1:00:16Speaker 26: And your towns are paying a lot higher to remove
- 1:00:18Speaker 26: your trash, and that's another reason why your property taxes
- 1:00:21Speaker 26: are going up.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: So I know, if you look at all these different things,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: if we can get gas built in the state of Connecticut,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: we can get natural gas pipelines, we can get the
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: waste energy trash plant, all of a sudden things start
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: to change, and you don't need as much tax dollars
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: to do everything.
- 1:00:35Speaker 26: We just need predictability in the state of Connecticut, and
- 1:00:37Speaker 26: business will show up, you know, Instead of taxing the
- 1:00:41Speaker 26: few that are paying, we need to expand the people
- 1:00:44Speaker 26: that are in the workforce, expand the companies that are
- 1:00:47Speaker 26: here paying, and that will definitely lower the taxes and
- 1:00:51Speaker 26: people will go to work. It would be a great
- 1:00:53Speaker 26: novel idea.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Well, here's the thing.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: What the state of Connecticut does, and this is the
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: democratic philosophy, is they tax one person, they give it
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: to 10, and they're doing the same thing with businesses.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: So they'll never lose an election because if you're taxing
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: one guy to death, And he doesn't decide to leave.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: He's staying.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: And that means they can feed 10 other people or
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: hand 10 other people handouts, and then they'll vote for them.
- 1:01:16Speaker 26: I believe it's close to one-third of the state of
- 1:01:19Speaker 26: Connecticut is on some sort of public assistance. And, look,
- 1:01:23Speaker 26: there is people suffering out there that absolutely need that.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: No, 100%.
- 1:01:26Speaker 26: But when you're living in one of the richest states
- 1:01:28Speaker 26: in the country, it's a shame. And where is the
- 1:01:31Speaker 26: off-ramp for that? Where is the vision for the state
- 1:01:35Speaker 26: of Connecticut coming from this current administration that that, hey,
- 1:01:38Speaker 26: we're going to be open for business. We're going to
- 1:01:40Speaker 26: make sure we lower your taxes. We're going to have predictability.
- 1:01:43Speaker 26: When you have companies like Schick and Milford shutting down
- 1:01:47Speaker 26: 300 jobs, you have Stanley Black and Decker over 300 jobs.
- 1:01:50Speaker 26: The one we just talked about in Hamden, it was
- 1:01:54Speaker 26: 40 to 60 jobs in the manufacturing industry, 1,000 jobs
- 1:01:58Speaker 26: at Macy's Distribution Center. Talcott and Harford, over 400 jobs
- 1:02:03Speaker 26: they lost in the IT.
- 1:02:04Speaker 11: It's just.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: And Lego just closed down for you. You lost Lego.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: But we did get Dave's Hot Chicken opened three franchises
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: in Connecticut, and that's what they're about. I want people
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: on the radio to just do this. Google, in the
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: last three years, the top ten businesses that left, and
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: then Google the top ten businesses that came in. And
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: the top ten businesses that came in are Chase Bank franchise,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Chase Bank, Dave's Little Chicken.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: We lost.
- 1:02:35Speaker 12: you.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Will fall off your chair with how much money we lost.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: And that's jobs, and those are great-paying jobs, and those
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: are the future for the kids, places for them to
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: go to work. But if you want your kids at
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Dave's Little Chicken, keep voting Democratic.
- 1:02:49Speaker 26: We talked about Bristol-Myers Squibb, who left Wallingford, had 900 jobs,
- 1:02:53Speaker 26: research and development. Actually, when I had my window-cleaning company,
- 1:02:56Speaker 26: we actually bid on that project down there, and they said,
- 1:03:00Speaker 26: hold off on the bids, we're closing down, because they
- 1:03:02Speaker 26: couldn't make a deal with the state of Connecticut. Just
- 1:03:04Speaker 26: two weeks ago, they built a $ 2. 8 billion manufacturing and
- 1:03:10Speaker 26: distribution facility, 2,000 construction jobs, 900 permanent jobs. Why aren't
- 1:03:16Speaker 26: they building right here in the state of Connecticut? Why
- 1:03:18Speaker 26: aren't those companies coming to the state of Connecticut? We
- 1:03:20Speaker 26: all have that answer. No predictability, high energy costs, high regulations,
- 1:03:26Speaker 26: and the governor just turns a blind eye. So before
- 1:03:29Speaker 26: all of these companies left the state of Connecticut, Where
- 1:03:33Speaker 26: was the governor? Where was the lieutenant governor? Visiting these businesses,
- 1:03:37Speaker 26: being the ambassador to these businesses and saying, what can
- 1:03:40Speaker 26: we do to make your life and your company better?
- 1:03:43Speaker 26: And how can we expand your company? Instead, we have
- 1:03:45Speaker 26: a reaction governor who comes out and says, well, best
- 1:03:49Speaker 26: we could do. That's the best we could do. When
- 1:03:52Speaker 26: you go all the way back to Governor Malloy, when
- 1:03:53Speaker 26: GE left down in the Fairfield County area, he says, well,
- 1:03:56Speaker 26: you win some, you lose some. That's the wrong attitude
- 1:03:58Speaker 26: to have. And they've had that attitude for the last
- 1:04:00Speaker 26: 40 years here in the state of Connecticut.

- 1:08:59Speaker 36: Yeah, look.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Oh sorry he hung up no problem that's the way
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: it goes.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: All right so we're back with matt and we're discussing
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: different things in the state of connecticut So, you know,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: the other thing that we talk about is this HB1
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: visa fraud that's going on. And you said something like
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: how many HB1 visas are given out a year?
- 1:09:19Speaker 26: I believe Connecticut brings in about 1,000 HB1 visas. You know,
- 1:09:23Speaker 26: if they claim Connecticut has the most educated workforce, then
- 1:09:27Speaker 26: why aren't we hiring more here in the state of Connecticut?
- 1:09:30Speaker 61: Right.
- 1:09:31Speaker 26: Having my business in Hartford, we've seen a lot of
- 1:09:33Speaker 26: jobs being shipped overseas. We had actually, they used to
- 1:09:36Speaker 26: call them in my restaurant, they used to call them
- 1:09:37Speaker 26: layoff parties. I said, what are you talking about a
- 1:09:40Speaker 26: layoff party? They said, yeah, we're over here training people
- 1:09:42Speaker 26: that are– see those people sitting over there? We're training
- 1:09:45Speaker 26: them to take our jobs. And within three months, we're
- 1:09:50Speaker 26: going to lose our jobs. And if we don't train them,
- 1:09:53Speaker 26: we lose our severance packages. And these were people between
- 1:09:56Speaker 26: the ages of 50 and 60 years old in the
- 1:09:58Speaker 26: city of Hartford that were too young to retire and
- 1:10:02Speaker 26: some were too old to hire. So that was pretty
- 1:10:05Speaker 26: hurtful when you've seen the outsourcing– of a lot of
- 1:10:09Speaker 26: American jobs in the city of Hartford.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: And they're forced to train them.
- 1:10:12Speaker 26: You've got to remember, George, with our age, all you
- 1:10:15Speaker 26: needed was a high school diploma to get into some
- 1:10:18Speaker 26: of these great companies in Hartford and you could work
- 1:10:20Speaker 26: your way up. And so now they're competing with kids
- 1:10:24Speaker 26: with master's degrees for a third of what they used
- 1:10:26Speaker 26: to earn. So just seeing the whole dynamics all around.
- 1:10:30Speaker 26: And we also had kids working their way through college
- 1:10:33Speaker 26: that used to work for me at my restaurant with
- 1:10:36Speaker 26: master's degrees that couldn't find work. It's just a vicious
- 1:10:40Speaker 26: cycle here in the state of Connecticut. We can do better.
- 1:10:43Speaker 26: You know, I look at when I go to Bridgeport
- 1:10:45Speaker 26: or Hartford and I see these empty buildings, I see opportunity.
- 1:10:48Speaker 26: I see opportunity if we had the right policies of
- 1:10:52Speaker 26: taking care of the businesses that hire people, that bring
- 1:10:56Speaker 26: people into the workforce. You look at the inner cities.
- 1:10:59Speaker 26: If you drive down Homestead Avenue in Hartford over by
- 1:11:02Speaker 26: Locust Street, all of those wonderful manufacturers that used to
- 1:11:06Speaker 26: hire people, young men and women from the urban communities,
- 1:11:11Speaker 26: they're all gone because of the affordability. Once again, a
- 1:11:16Speaker 26: lot of the manufacturers here in the state of Connecticut
- 1:11:18Speaker 26: are competing on a global market.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: And the utility costs are their biggest expense.
- 1:11:23Speaker 26: It's all about energy. It's all about energy. If we
- 1:11:25Speaker 26: can lower our energy and have predictability in our energy costs,
- 1:11:28Speaker 26: it would be a wonderful thing. Talk to any manufacturer.
- 1:11:31Speaker 26: They don't plan for next week. They plan three years out.
- 1:11:34Speaker 26: They're buying materials. They're building.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: They're equipment. Sometimes you buy their equipment. Well, I'm going
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: to need this in five years to do this, or
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: I'm going to need this. And I understand being in
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: the jewelry business, we're constantly trying to.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Stay out of the curve.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: If gold takes a little dip, we buy our solder
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: because we need to save costs down for the long-term way.
- 1:11:52Speaker 26: That metal manufacturer that I visited in Hamden had two
- 1:11:57Speaker 26: people working there. One was 58 years old. One was
- 1:11:59Speaker 26: 60 years old. What do you do after being with
- 1:12:02Speaker 26: a company for 30 years, and then all of a
- 1:12:04Speaker 26: sudden your job is gone? The two biggest specialty machines
- 1:12:08Speaker 26: went to two southern states. North Carolina, why? They have
- 1:12:11Speaker 26: four nuclear plants. They have a two and a quarter
- 1:12:14Speaker 26: percent corporate tax rate. In 2028, they're going to have
- 1:12:17Speaker 26: a zero percent corporate tax rate. The other machine went
- 1:12:20Speaker 26: to Tennessee. You know where the governor's wife says it's
- 1:12:23Speaker 26: easier to open up a company in Tennessee than it
- 1:12:25Speaker 26: is in Connecticut. Maybe the governor should listen to his
- 1:12:27Speaker 26: wife more often because she is absolutely correct. And we
- 1:12:31Speaker 26: need to compete regularly. and make sure Connecticut is open
- 1:12:35Speaker 26: for business. It's not open for business under this administration.
- 1:12:37Speaker 26: There is no vision. I would hope somebody could call
- 1:12:40Speaker 26: in and tell me, what is the governor's vision after
- 1:12:43Speaker 26: seven and a half years of being in office? He's
- 1:12:45Speaker 26: going to roll up his sleeves and do what?
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: We have no idea. That's all.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: So we're going to go to a caller, Dan from
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: East Hampton. Dan, you're on with Matt Corey.
- 1:12:55Speaker 18: Hey, great job, George, just listening to the show over here. And,
- 1:12:59Speaker 18: you know, you made a comment before that you could
- 1:13:01Speaker 18: come right out of high school and go get a job.
- 1:13:03Speaker 18: You know, I mean, that's more or less what I did.
- 1:13:06Speaker 18: First I wasted some time in college. But, you know,
- 1:13:10Speaker 18: I think kids used to come out of high school
- 1:13:11Speaker 18: being able to read, didn't they, and do some basic math.
- 1:13:16Speaker 18: I mean, now you get a kid coming out of
- 1:13:19Speaker 18: high school, even out of college, in their pajamas. and
- 1:13:24Speaker 18: carrying a teddy bear and wearing a furry suit, you
- 1:13:26Speaker 18: know what I mean, and never look up for their phone.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: I'm asking where the safe space is.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: Stuff we didn't have. I have a high school degree.
- 1:13:35Speaker 8: I have.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: A license for selling real estate. I'm a real estate
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: broker as well, but I spent zero time in college,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: and I've done very well for myself. I'm not so
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: sure that common sense and hard work ethic don't count.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: Did you have a question for Matt?
- 1:13:57Speaker 18: Yeah, actually, it's about the lowering. You know, you were
- 1:13:59Speaker 18: talking before about putting a natural gas storage, you know,
- 1:14:03Speaker 18: into the dredge port over there and gas prices coming
- 1:14:06Speaker 18: down 15 cents or something like that. You know, is
- 1:14:09Speaker 18: there a surcharge on the gas already, 25 cents or
- 1:14:13Speaker 18: something like that, plus the sales tax? I mean, it's
- 1:14:16Speaker 18: death by a million cuts over here.
- 1:14:19Speaker 26: Yeah, it's a ton of regulations that The state of
- 1:14:23Speaker 26: Connecticut is putting on energy everywhere you look. And they're
- 1:14:26Speaker 26: forcing Eversource to purchase energy at a high price. But
- 1:14:31Speaker 26: they love using Eversource as a scapegoat. I'm not saying
- 1:14:33Speaker 26: they're innocent on a lot of stuff, but it's just
- 1:14:35Speaker 26: amazing that they say, we're going to lock you into
- 1:14:38Speaker 26: a 20-year contract plan, twice the kilowatt hour that a
- 1:14:41Speaker 26: nuclear plant would do. And, yeah, we're going to go
- 1:14:44Speaker 26: this way. And without talking to the people or exposing
- 1:14:48Speaker 26: what those rates will be, You know, the people that
- 1:14:51Speaker 26: are paying those high charges, shouldn't we have a voice
- 1:14:54Speaker 26: in that? No, it's just they let Pura do something.
- 1:14:57Speaker 26: It's unelected bureaucrats, unelected bureaucrats making decisions on how many people,
- 1:15:02Speaker 26: 3 million people here in the state of Connecticut.
- 1:15:04Speaker 12: It's not fair.
- 1:15:06Speaker 18: It's Corey, right?
- 1:15:07Speaker 26: Matthew Corey.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:10Speaker 18: So, you know, here in Long Island, what they used
- 1:15:13Speaker 18: to do is the politicians would run on, we're not
- 1:15:15Speaker 18: going to raise taxes, we're not going to raise taxes.
- 1:15:18Speaker 18: And then everyone would be like, yay, they're not going
- 1:15:20Speaker 18: to raise taxes. And then when they got elected, they
- 1:15:23Speaker 18: just raised the tax on electric. So there was this
- 1:15:26Speaker 18: conglomeration happening with the power company. So you get every
- 1:15:30Speaker 18: house and you get every household and raise taxes by
- 1:15:33Speaker 18: raising the taxes on power. And I think that's a
- 1:15:37Speaker 18: lot of what's going on there. And now it's going
- 1:15:39Speaker 18: to be water, too. Everything the state gets their hands on,
- 1:15:42Speaker 18: they seem to take advantage of.
- 1:15:44Speaker 26: Well, look at your cell phone. I mean, it was
- 1:15:46Speaker 26: only a nickel, right? It's only a nickel. At this point,
- 1:15:49Speaker 26: it's only a nickel. But it's every little thing that
- 1:15:51Speaker 26: they can find to tax. Please don't give them any
- 1:15:53Speaker 26: more ideas. But only a nickel turns into a quarter,
- 1:15:56Speaker 26: turns into a dollar. We've all seen it. It's just
- 1:15:58Speaker 26: a money grab. If our money was being spent, our
- 1:16:02Speaker 26: tax dollars were being spent wisely, I don't think anybody
- 1:16:05Speaker 26: would mind. But when we're being overtaxed, and you look
- 1:16:08Speaker 26: at the governor with the half-a-billion-dollar emergency fund that he
- 1:16:13Speaker 26: can just dole out money at his dispense, knowing that
- 1:16:20Speaker 26: we've all seen the fraud, waste, and abuse in the
- 1:16:23Speaker 26: state of Connecticut today, as it takes the FBI to
- 1:16:26Speaker 26: come here to investigate, I don't feel safe with the
- 1:16:30Speaker 26: governor having to, all that type of money and giving
- 1:16:32Speaker 26: it to NGOs that we don't have any knowledge of
- 1:16:35Speaker 26: where that money is going. And we've seen it. So yeah,
- 1:16:38Speaker 26: it's just, they just keep, it's a money grab all
- 1:16:40Speaker 26: the way around.
- 1:16:40Speaker 18: It's laundering. It's criminal.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:16:43Speaker 26: Absolutely, sir.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Coming back with Matt Corey, the bottom half of the hour.
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: Wake up Maggie I think.
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: I got something to say to.
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: You It's late September and I really should be.
- 1:17:36Speaker 16: Back at school.
- 1:17:39Speaker 6: I know I keep you amused But I feel I'm
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: being used.

- 1:23:11Speaker 64: And we're brought to you by Charter Oak Federal Credit Union,
- 1:23:14Speaker 64: where members bank better. So this Yankees Red Sox series
- 1:23:18Speaker 64: this past weekend had all the feels of the old
- 1:23:21Speaker 64: school New York-Boston rivalry. Not only that, it felt like
- 1:23:24Speaker 64: and was the most important series of the season so far,
- 1:23:27Speaker 64: especially because it was going to dictate who owned the
- 1:23:29Speaker 64: tiebreaker and who would get home field advantage if the
- 1:23:32Speaker 64: two teams met in the playoffs. And even though the
- 1:23:34Speaker 64: Red Sox are staring up at the Yankees in the standings,
- 1:23:36Speaker 64: all Boston had to do was split the series this weekend,
- 1:23:39Speaker 64: and they would have had all the postseason advantages going
- 1:23:41Speaker 64: their way. The Sox got Roman Anthony back, Trevor Story back, too.
- 1:23:45Speaker 64: And just when it kind of looked like the Sox
- 1:23:47Speaker 64: were going to get out of the Bronx with a split,
- 1:23:49Speaker 64: it happened. Sedan Raffaella looked like he made an incredible catch,
- 1:23:52Speaker 64: but it was overturned. And it took all the wind
- 1:23:55Speaker 64: out of Boston's sails. The Sox imploded after that. And
- 1:23:58Speaker 64: the Yankees take the series, the season series, the tiebreaker,
- 1:24:01Speaker 64: and a four-game lead over their rivals for the final
- 1:24:04Speaker 64: wildcard spot.
- 1:24:05Speaker 11: With more than just a score, I'm Fish on Sports.

- 1:24:27Speaker 22: and pronounced dead at the scene. Connecticut Attorney General William
- 1:24:32Speaker 22: Tong is appealing a ruling that blocked a $ 7. 7 million
- 1:24:35Speaker 22: fine against Florida-based Indy Guns. A judge barred the company
- 1:24:39Speaker 22: from shipping unserialized gun parts to Connecticut but rejected the
- 1:24:44Speaker 22: state's proposed penalty. Willimantic police are investigating a report that
- 1:24:48Speaker 22: a man exposed himself while picking up a Facebook Marketplace
- 1:24:52Speaker 22: purchase yesterday afternoon on Memorial Drive. Police said children were
- 1:24:56Speaker 22: present and no arrest information was immediately available. Richmond police

- 1:25:27Speaker 25: I'm Rob Ray. When news breaks, we break in.
- 1:25:52Speaker 12: Hi, this.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: Is George Agnelli. I'm on 94 News Now, simulating talk.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: We're here with Matt Corey talking about issues in the

- 1:26:10Speaker 1: be able to vote for him, but if you pull
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Fazio's number, you'll be giving him the support they need
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: to take over Connecticut and win this. The State Department
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: of Education has put in a guideline now, and it's
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: not mandatory yet for individual towns and school boards to
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: choose their own specific offerings about teaching Muslim in our schools.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: We're not allowed to teach about the Bible. We're not
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: allowed to teach about, you know, pledge of allegiance to
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: the flag. We're not allowed to do all these things.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: But now it looks like there might be a mandate.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: It's not mandated this year, but it might be mandated
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: next year, where 1% of our population is now going
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: to control a whole classroom and be made mandatory. It's
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: not mandatory yet, but what are your thoughts about that?
- 1:26:59Speaker 26: Listen, we've got to focus on the basics, reading, writing, arithmetic,
- 1:27:03Speaker 26: get these young kids into the skills, whether they're going
- 1:27:07Speaker 26: to be college-bound or blue-collar jobs like carpentry mechanics you
- 1:27:14Speaker 26: know when i was going to school we were introduced
- 1:27:15Speaker 26: to all those shop classes i'm not sure how much
- 1:27:19Speaker 26: the high schools are doing that but we need that
- 1:27:23Speaker 26: i'll tell you a story about a couple of new
- 1:27:24Speaker 26: london that i met a young man went to uh
- 1:27:28Speaker 26: work at the electric boat because they paid tuition reimbursement
- 1:27:33Speaker 26: he went down there and became a carpenter within a
- 1:27:36Speaker 26: half a year told his parents you know what not
- 1:27:40Speaker 26: that he can't do engineering in the future But he says,
- 1:27:42Speaker 26: I love working with my hands. I love the carpentry
- 1:27:46Speaker 26: work that I'm doing. So I'm going to stick with this.
- 1:27:49Speaker 26: I mean, until we introduce these young kids to different trades,
- 1:27:53Speaker 26: whether maybe it is engineering, but to different trades, whether
- 1:27:57Speaker 26: it's carpentry, drafting, automotive, machining, they'll never know or be
- 1:28:04Speaker 26: able to fill out their dreams successfully. They'll just be
- 1:28:06Speaker 26: left and kicked to the side, and that's what we
- 1:28:08Speaker 26: don't need. But we don't need extra studies on Muslims
- 1:28:11Speaker 26: when we've got kids graduating that are illiterate. It doesn't
- 1:28:14Speaker 26: make any sense. They're just adding more bureaucracy. The teachers
- 1:28:18Speaker 26: are struggling enough.
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: The teachers are competing with cell phones in the classroom.
- 1:28:24Speaker 26: Right now, English is a second language in our schools.
- 1:28:27Speaker 26: The teachers are struggling to teach these young kids today.
- 1:28:30Speaker 26: And we want to make sure they graduate and they
- 1:28:33Speaker 26: can understand functions of life and a lot of them
- 1:28:37Speaker 26: don't and it's just their dreams are lost because nobody's
- 1:28:42Speaker 26: paying attention.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: The other problem too is we're spending 9 million dollars
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: a week in the city of Hartford a week to
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: educate the kids and yet they have a no fail
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: policy until they get to high school and then of
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: course they can't read or write or do basic math
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: and they have to do it in high school and
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: they fail That's criminal. It's criminal. It's absolutely ridiculous what's
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: happening in our school system to our kids, to our teachers,
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: to everybody else. And it's also a migration problem. You know,
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: you have Mayberry Village School, you know, with John Larson's background,
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: and it's a lot of transient apartments up there because
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: they're still living in temporary housing that was built in
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: 1941 for people for the war. So why not take
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: out some of that housing and put it back in
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: a single family homes and have habitat, right? And then
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: The problem is the teacher has 25 students at the
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: beginning of the year. The teacher has 25 students at
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: the end of the year, but 60% are different. Then
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: they start with, how are they going to teach a
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: normal classroom when every two days they're introducing somebody new
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: and somebody left?
- 1:29:48Speaker 26: Yeah, the teachers are having a really tough time today.
- 1:29:51Speaker 26: God bless anybody that's a teacher out there. It's a
- 1:29:53Speaker 26: noble profession, and they just love their students, and they
- 1:29:56Speaker 26: do the best they can, whether it's a public school
- 1:29:58Speaker 26: or private school, but Our public school teachers are struggling.
- 1:30:02Speaker 26: I've worked in Hartford when they put new additions on
- 1:30:05Speaker 26: schools as a window cleaner working in the construction trades.
- 1:30:09Speaker 26: And a lot of those teachers are struggling. They're pulling
- 1:30:11Speaker 26: money out of their own pocket for materials alone just
- 1:30:15Speaker 26: because of the budget cuts. And look, special ed's needs
- 1:30:20Speaker 26: are huge too. It's a really difficult place and hats
- 1:30:24Speaker 26: off to them.
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's something that we have to take. We
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: have to take a deeper look at what we're doing
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: about everything and I think there's no child left behind
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: policy has to disappear. They've got it.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: There's got to be some group. So, you know, the
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: kid goes to school three days a week through eighth grade.
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: Hey, no big deal. I don't have to do my homework.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: I don't have to study.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: I'm doing it. And then they hit high school and
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: they go, oh, no. Well, well, five plus five. Well,
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: that's not 11. And you have to get these things right.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: And they and the kids don't have they haven't been
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: brought up. You know, it's just like anything else that
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: you train, you train in a job and When you're
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: in your first year, you learn how to be in
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: your 15th year. You don't learn in the first nine years,
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: or sorry, first seven years, and then the eighth year
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: you have to start producing when you haven't built the
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: basics or the foundation for the beginning years. And I
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: think that's something that we really need to take a
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: look at and how we're managing this because we're seeing
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: now after five years or ten years, it's not working.
- 1:31:22Speaker 26: There has to be some changes, and we definitely don't
- 1:31:24Speaker 26: need to add more studies on it. Let's get back
- 1:31:26Speaker 26: to the basics, make sure these kids have the tools
- 1:31:28Speaker 26: they need for the 21st century.
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: So we have open phone line if anybody would like
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: to call in and ask any questions of Matt.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: He's running for office.
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: If you have a question about what's going on or
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: what you think could be different or we give him
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: a suggestion, we'll be happy to take it.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: The phone number is 860-464-9490. Thank you.

- 1:38:49Speaker 26: You call him Clark Kent, he looks like a young Superman, right, George?
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: He's going to have to do a Superman job to
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: get this. Remember, truth in accounting says this state is
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: 50th out of 50th for the first to file bankruptcy
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: if they were allowed to file bankruptcy.
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: Go to truth in accounting, look it up.
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: It ranks all the states by financial stability, and we're
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: not there.
- 1:39:11Speaker 26: Yeah, he's just a... I see the youth gravitate towards him,
- 1:39:15Speaker 26: and it's just wonderful that he's motivating people to come
- 1:39:19Speaker 26: out to vote. If you have never met him, we'll
- 1:39:21Speaker 26: be at the Red, White, and Blue.
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: September 21st at Water's Edge in Westbrook, Connecticut. You'll get
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: to meet him. He'll be walking around talking to you.
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: He's a nice, average guy. Last year, I think he
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: talked to like 200.
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: Or 250 people.
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: Almost everybody there said he made sure he made time
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: for everybody, which was nice.
- 1:39:38Speaker 26: Yeah, and here's a guy that said, before he ran
- 1:39:41Speaker 26: in that special election. He says, you know what? I
- 1:39:43Speaker 26: got off my couch. I wanted to make a difference.
- 1:39:45Speaker 26: And if you just look at the work he's done
- 1:39:47Speaker 26: up at the Capitol and how he feels about businesses
- 1:39:49Speaker 26: leaving and the youth in the state of Connecticut making
- 1:39:53Speaker 26: sure that they have an opportunity to grow, thrive, and
- 1:39:56Speaker 26: actually live here. Imagine that. I want to live here.
- 1:40:01Speaker 26: I want to retire here. I want to see my
- 1:40:03Speaker 26: kids and my grandchildren grow up. I want to stay
- 1:40:05Speaker 26: in Connecticut. But it's unaffordable. And that's what he's working on.
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it was great to talk with him several times.
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: I've talked with him a bunch of times. And he's
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: a really nice young man. He's got a lot of
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: great ideas. And he's open to ideas, which is different
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: than the current regime we have in office. And, you know,
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: when you talk to people and somebody might have a
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: better idea than you do, but it's good for the
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: state of Connecticut, that's what's.
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: The most important thing.
- 1:40:29Speaker 26: Yeah, somebody had just sent me the average cost for
- 1:40:34Speaker 26: a family of four To live comfortably in the state
- 1:40:37Speaker 26: of Connecticut is around $ 300, 000. So it's not many families
- 1:40:40Speaker 26: that are making that much money.
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: Especially with all the companies that have left.
- 1:40:43Speaker 26: Look, that means parents are working two jobs just to
- 1:40:47Speaker 26: make ends meet. Single parents are just, God bless them,
- 1:40:51Speaker 26: you know. And it's not an affordable state to raise
- 1:40:56Speaker 26: a family in.
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: No, and we have to change that. I'm looking for
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: you two guys to help work on it.
- 1:41:00Speaker 26: Unfortunately, every one of my nieces and nephews have left
- 1:41:03Speaker 26: the state of Connecticut, and that's heartbreaking.
- 1:41:05Speaker 35: Yeah.
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: And the sad part, that's good votes.
- 1:41:07Speaker 63: Right.
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: If we could get them back here, that would even
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: be better.
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: So as we end this hour, we're going to start
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: the next hour. We're going to have a special guest,
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: Michael Goldstein, who's.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: Running for Congress against Matt Himes. So he's going to
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: be a great guy. And we're going to talk a
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: little bit about immigration. You know, when you.
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: The Yankee Institute said that Connecticut spent $ 1. 3 billion last
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: year on illegal immigration, educating them, housing them, clothing them.
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: I know people in Hartford that have worked their whole
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: lives would love to get the support that people who
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: have never spent a day here have gotten.
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: What is your thought about illegal immigration?
- 1:41:53Speaker 26: The heartbreaking part about it is yesterday, as I traveled
- 1:41:56Speaker 26: the entire state, I won't name the town, but When
- 1:41:59Speaker 26: I see 10 cities under overpasses, that's heartbreaking because you
- 1:42:03Speaker 26: know they're veterans. You know there's people in need right there.
- 1:42:06Speaker 26: So why aren't they getting the same services? Why aren't
- 1:42:09Speaker 26: they getting the mental health services they need? You know,
- 1:42:11Speaker 26: being in Hartford, I've seen and knew a lot of
- 1:42:13Speaker 26: the homeless people that were walking around the city of Hartford,
- 1:42:16Speaker 26: and it's heartbreaking. Why aren't they getting the housing? Why
- 1:42:18Speaker 26: aren't they getting the health care? Why aren't they getting
- 1:42:20Speaker 26: the food needs that they deserve, that they earned because
- 1:42:23Speaker 26: they defended our great country? and they're not getting the
- 1:42:27Speaker 26: same treatment as people who are coming here illegally.
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: No, I don't understand.
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: I really don't understand it that if we have one
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: homeless vet, that's where the money should be going.
- 1:42:36Speaker 26: And I'm not trying to pit people against each other,
- 1:42:38Speaker 26: but you see it, and it's heartbreaking that they're not
- 1:42:40Speaker 26: taking care of our own.
- 1:42:42Speaker 27: Right.
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: We had a party. We had a Trump party in
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: New Haven, and I think.
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: I got caught by Lee feeding the homeless that was
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: outside on the thing. So when we went to that party,
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: I got, you know, people like, why did you, I
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: took the first plate of food. And usually at my parties,
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: I always take the last plate of food. And I
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: walked across the street because there's a person who was
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: sub-zero out. They're under a blanket on the street. I
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: saw numerous policemen go by. I saw numerous people walk by.
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: Not one person stopped to help that person.
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: Now, whether they were illegal or not illegal, I at
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: least brought them a warm plate of food.
- 1:43:16Speaker 26: That money could be redirected. You know, my business, we
- 1:43:19Speaker 26: used to give.
- 1:43:21Speaker 26: The younger generation and maybe in the mid 20s or 30s,
- 1:43:25Speaker 26: the young kids for second chances that ended up in
- 1:43:28Speaker 26: the prison system and ended up in the halfway house.
- 1:43:30Speaker 26: We couldn't save them all, but we gave them a job,
- 1:43:33Speaker 26: an opportunity. That money could be well spent to retrain people,
- 1:43:36Speaker 26: to repatriate them into society. There's a lot more we
- 1:43:40Speaker 26: can do with the money that we're wasting on people
- 1:43:42Speaker 26: that shouldn't be here. especially the criminally illegal aliens that
- 1:43:45Speaker 26: are here.
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: And as you see, our school system is getting filled
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: up with kids that English is their second language, or
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: not even their language to begin with. It's not a
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: second language because they don't know how to speak it.
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: And we're putting these kids in our mainstream kids.
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: We're taking away from our kids.
- 1:44:01Speaker 26: It's just overwhelming our teachers and our school system.
- 1:44:03Speaker 54: Yes.
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: So as we go into the future, what would you
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: see a future Connecticut? If you had a vision for Connecticut,
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: what would you see?
- 1:44:14Speaker 26: Look, we need to lower the corporate tax rate. We
- 1:44:16Speaker 26: need to make sure Connecticut is open for business. We
- 1:44:20Speaker 26: make sure our school systems are putting the, when they
- 1:44:25Speaker 26: graduate these kids, whether it's in the skills or trades
- 1:44:28Speaker 26: or where they are college bound, that our businesses here
- 1:44:31Speaker 26: in the state of Connecticut are getting the educated workforce
- 1:44:34Speaker 26: that they deserve and need. Lieutenant Governor's office should be
- 1:44:38Speaker 26: an ambassador to small and large businesses, making sure that
- 1:44:42Speaker 26: they have their needs met. What I would like to
- 1:44:44Speaker 26: define a lieutenant governor's office also to be a whistleblower
- 1:44:47Speaker 26: office for some of the great state workers. Who else
- 1:44:50Speaker 26: knows where the most waste, abuse and fraud is in
- 1:44:52Speaker 26: the state of Connecticut? And some of our great state
- 1:44:54Speaker 26: workers who said that we are top heavy. We have
- 1:44:57Speaker 26: too many administrators, too many managers, and they see it.
- 1:45:01Speaker 26: Another one, a voice for towns, small town mayors, first towns,
- 1:45:06Speaker 26: first selectmen. and large city mayors to make sure that
- 1:45:09Speaker 26: we push back against unfunded mandates that are being pushed
- 1:45:12Speaker 26: out of town, like over 1,400 as we speak.
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: Yeah, no, so, and then what else would be your, well,
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: you have about one minute left. What would be your, like,
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: pride and joy if you could do it into the
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: state of Connecticut?
- 1:45:26Speaker 26: Bringing more businesses back to the state of Connecticut, making
- 1:45:29Speaker 26: this place a place where we create, invent, and have
- 1:45:32Speaker 26: the entrepreneurship to grow here. we need to stimulate this economy.
- 1:45:38Speaker 26: We need to make sure our kids can stay here,
- 1:45:41Speaker 26: our grandkids can stay here. Please vote for the people
- 1:45:44Speaker 26: that have a vision for the state of Connecticut. The
- 1:45:47Speaker 26: Fazio-Corey ticket actually has a vision for the state of Connecticut.
- 1:45:50Speaker 26: It's not talk. It's things that we want to do
- 1:45:53Speaker 26: that are going to grow our state economy, make sure
- 1:45:56Speaker 26: that it's affordable to live here, and make sure your
- 1:45:59Speaker 26: grandparents can retire here.
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: Thank you for your time.
- 1:46:03Speaker 26: Thank you so much.
- 1:46:03Speaker 52: I appreciate everything.
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: We're going to go into the next hour, and we're
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: going to have Mr. Goldstein here talking.
- 1:46:13Speaker 52: Hey!
- 1:46:14Speaker 36: Hey!
- 1:46:16Speaker 24: Gather round!
- 1:46:18Speaker 12: Matt Corey's name is ringing now!
- 1:46:22Speaker 45: We love Matt!
- 1:46:24Speaker 16: We love.
- 1:46:26Speaker 22: Matt!
- 1:46:26Speaker 28: Everybody shout it back! Matt Corey, he's our man!
- 1:46:33Speaker 17: If he can't do it, nobody can.
- 1:46:36Speaker 28: Steady hands and a fearless heart.
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: He shows up ready from the very start.
- 1:46:42Speaker 35: U.S.

- 1:46:45Speaker 3: our all.
- 1:46:46Speaker 24: We love Matt.
- 1:46:48Speaker 25: We love Matt.
- 1:46:51Speaker 28: Everybody shout his back. Matt Corey, he's our man.
- 1:46:59Speaker 18: If he can't do it, nobody can.
- 1:47:01Speaker 4: Who's got grit?
- 1:47:01Speaker 28: Matt Torey.
- 1:47:02Speaker 12: Bully Floyd.
- 1:47:04Speaker 17: Matt Torey.
- 1:47:05Speaker 8: Maybe proud.
- 1:47:06Speaker 12: Strong and true. That this year is.
- 1:47:11Speaker 52: All for you.
- 1:47:13Speaker 24: We love Matt.

- 1:48:16Speaker 32: The acting president of Venezuela, Delce Rodriguez, over the weekend
- 1:48:19Speaker 32: said that... this deal is a step toward economic recovery.
- 1:48:23Speaker 32: And President Trump posted about this over the weekend, writing
- 1:48:26Speaker 32: this in part on Truth Social. One of the things
- 1:48:29Speaker 32: I'm going to do with the Venezuelan oil is fill

- 1:52:09Speaker 61: The morning show always seems to make a pot right

- 1:52:28Speaker 67: And here's the best part.
- 1:52:29Speaker 61: It's free.
- 1:52:30Speaker 18: Huh.
- 1:52:30Speaker 61: Company pays for it. That's why nobody complains. You can't

- 1:52:44Speaker 61: Hi, this is George.
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: Agnelli on 94 News Now and Stimulating Talk, and we're
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: here with Dr. Michael Goldstein, who's running against longtime incumbent
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: Jim Himes, a Democrat from Greenwich, for the 4th Congressional District,
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: and You know, he's been in office since 2009. Can
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: anybody say that he has helped them have a better
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: life since 2009? He's been there, what, how many years?
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: Doing what?
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: I would love to know what he could put his
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: name on it. He said he did for me or you.
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: And Dr. Michael Goldstein, who's an ophthalmologist and attorney.
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: Won the Republican primary, and we're looking for some new
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: blood in the state of Connecticut. We're looking for somebody
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: that's actually going to come out and talk to you
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: and meet with you, not just hide and collect his
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: paycheck and, you know, do different things. So we're hoping
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: that this gentleman can unseat, you know, they redistricted about,
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: you know, seven or eight years ago or ten years ago,
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: and they made it almost impossible for Republicans to win
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: in the state of Connecticut. We will be taking your calls. It's... 860-464-9490,
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: and he'll be happy to answer any question. And we're
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: going to let him take the lead and let him
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: talk a little bit about some of the things he'd
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: like to see done.
- 1:54:07Speaker 11: Sure.
- 1:54:07Speaker 67: Thanks a lot, George, for having me on.
- 1:54:09Speaker 42: And we are living in some of the strangest times
- 1:54:13Speaker 42: in American history. For the first time, we actually have
- 1:54:17Speaker 42: socialists who are going to be elected to the United
- 1:54:19Speaker 42: States Congress. And these people want to destroy the Constitution
- 1:54:23Speaker 42: of the United States. They want to eliminate the Senate.
- 1:54:26Speaker 42: They want to eliminate the presidency. They want to change
- 1:54:28Speaker 42: the Supreme Court. And they want to remove private property.
- 1:54:33Speaker 42: They want this nationalized health care. And they essentially want
- 1:54:38Speaker 42: to destroy capitalism and our entire way of life. And
- 1:54:43Speaker 42: if you look at the history of the United States,
- 1:54:46Speaker 42: we started out as 13 primarily agricultural colonies. And based
- 1:54:52Speaker 42: on our constitutional principles and the constitution which governs our
- 1:54:56Speaker 42: country combined with a capitalist economy, we grew from this
- 1:55:01Speaker 42: relatively obscurity to the most powerful nation in the world,
- 1:55:05Speaker 42: both militarily and economically. And yet these people, the socialists,
- 1:55:10Speaker 42: want to destroy our system and replace it with a
- 1:55:13Speaker 42: system that has failed in every country in the world.
- 1:55:16Speaker 42: And you'll notice that people flee communism to come here.
- 1:55:21Speaker 42: And in communist countries, people are essentially locked in. If
- 1:55:26Speaker 42: you remember the days when Berlin was divided to East Berlin,
- 1:55:29Speaker 42: which was communist, and West Berlin, which was free, if
- 1:55:32Speaker 42: you actually tried to go from East Berlin.
- 1:55:35Speaker 67: To West Berlin— you would be shot.
- 1:55:38Speaker 42: So if you have a governmental system which is so
- 1:55:42Speaker 42: bad that people are essentially caged in and you have
- 1:55:45Speaker 42: people in this country that are trying to sell it
- 1:55:47Speaker 42: to you, that's pretty scary.
- 1:55:50Speaker 67: And I think that this is an important point.
- 1:55:52Speaker 42: And one of the other things you have to realize
- 1:55:55Speaker 42: is that Jim Himes is somebody who was voted with
- 1:55:58Speaker 42: the Democratic Party 95 percent of the time. So If
- 1:56:02Speaker 42: the socialists will become the tail that wags the dog,
- 1:56:05Speaker 42: if the Democrats take control of the Congress, he's going
- 1:56:08Speaker 42: to vote with them. He also has a history of
- 1:56:10Speaker 42: supporting socialist communist ideas. He wrote, when he was at Harvard,
- 1:56:15Speaker 42: a 95-page paper and spent two months living with the
- 1:56:19Speaker 42: Marxist communist Sandinistas and wrote and glorified how wonderful they are.
- 1:56:24Speaker 42: So I suspect that he's very ripe for supporting these socialists.
- 1:56:27Speaker 42: So I think that we live in, as I said,
- 1:56:30Speaker 42: very dangerous times, and the only way to prevent the
- 1:56:32Speaker 42: socialists from taking over this country is to elect Republicans.
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: Yeah, so, I mean, this is a— like I said, I
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: am a registered Democrat, but my party's left me. They've
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: gone to this crazy side of transgenitalists, and transgenders deserve
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: to have their say. They can speak. They can— dye
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: their hair. That's what America's all about. But we can't
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: make the priority them. We have to make the priority everybody.
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: Everybody has to be able to have the same priority.
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: It shouldn't be transgender women and transgender men and women's sports.
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: Those type of things shouldn't happen. We can create a
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: transgender sport so there won't be enough people at.
- 1:57:15Speaker 2: Each high school. That's the way it should be.
- 1:57:20Speaker 42: Well, I think it's certainly in any kind of contact sports,
- 1:57:24Speaker 42: having a biological male who is genetically different than a
- 1:57:27Speaker 42: biological female in terms of muscle strength and everything else
- 1:57:32Speaker 42: is dangerous.
- 1:57:33Speaker 67: It could harm women.
- 1:57:34Speaker 42: And it's also unfair because a lot of these, you know,
- 1:57:37Speaker 42: young girls go to school and they become athletes and
- 1:57:41Speaker 42: they want to get athletic scholarships to go to school
- 1:57:44Speaker 42: and some of them become professionals in sports. And If
- 1:57:47Speaker 42: they're deprived of these opportunities because of an unfair system
- 1:57:50Speaker 42: that is biased against them based on genetics, then they're
- 1:57:56Speaker 42: the ones.
- 1:57:56Speaker 67: That are the losers.
- 1:57:58Speaker 42: Everybody talks about it's unfair to one person, but what's
- 1:58:01Speaker 42: unfair to one has consequences, and I think that it's
- 1:58:05Speaker 42: unfair to women to be forced to compete against someone
- 1:58:09Speaker 42: who has a genetic advantage.
- 1:58:11Speaker 39: Right.
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: It's the same thing. How do we compete with these jobs,
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: with this HP1.
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: Fraud going on, where they actually say they have a
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: degree in the field that they're applying for a job,
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: and they don't even have that degree, and they're competing
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: against Americans, and we're getting pushed off to the side.
- 1:58:30Speaker 42: Well, I mean, I think that there's a difference between,
- 1:58:32Speaker 42: you know, what you call an America first agenda and
- 1:58:35Speaker 42: an America last agenda. And I think that it's really
- 1:58:39Speaker 42: important that the priority is to give jobs to Americans first.
- 1:58:44Speaker 42: I mean, why would you bring somebody in from another
- 1:58:46Speaker 42: country to fill a job and leave an American citizen unemployed,
- 1:58:50Speaker 42: considering that American citizen's family has paid taxes their whole lives,
- 1:58:55Speaker 42: they've contributed to the economy, they've contributed to the society.
- 1:59:00Speaker 67: We as taxpayers have paid.
- 1:59:01Speaker 42: To educate them in most cases to do at least
- 1:59:03Speaker 42: part of their education. So why shouldn't we give them
- 1:59:07Speaker 42: the first priority? I mean, that's that's any there's no
- 1:59:11Speaker 42: other country in the world that would function that way
- 1:59:13Speaker 42: like we're doing with this.
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: No, we shouldn't be giving away our jobs. We shouldn't
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: be giving away our our food, our shelter, our. It's
- 1:59:21Speaker 1: craziness what we're doing. But, you know, and I agree
- 1:59:23Speaker 1: there's people in harm's way. But to have an open
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: border and 50,000 people a day coming over not knowing
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: who they even are is just absolute craziness. And it
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: doesn't protect the citizens. And, you know, unfortunately, Mr. Himes
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: believes differently. And, you know, he voted his Constitution when
- 1:59:39Speaker 1: he swore in to abide by the Constitution of the
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: United States and protect the American citizens. He really is
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: not doing it. We have– go ahead.
- 1:59:49Speaker 2: Would you have any?
- 1:59:49Speaker 63: Yes.
- 1:59:50Speaker 42: I mean, so, for example, there was a rally for
- 1:59:52Speaker 42: people that had been killed by ICE and Himes was there.
- 1:59:55Speaker 42: But there's no rally for Americans that have been killed
- 1:59:58Speaker 42: by illegals. And if there were one, I'm sure that
- 2:00:00Speaker 42: Himes wouldn't show up. He seems to prioritize illegal aliens. So,
- 2:00:05Speaker 42: for example, he's voted against a law that said anyone
- 2:00:09Speaker 42: that's convicted of stealing an illegal alien who's stolen money
- 2:00:12Speaker 42: from the government should be deported.
- 2:00:14Speaker 67: He voted against it.
- 2:00:15Speaker 42: Another bill that was that That was passed that would
- 2:00:19Speaker 42: deport illegals who committed violent acts against women and children,
- 2:00:23Speaker 42: you know, should be deported. And he voted against that, too.
- 2:00:29Speaker 42: This all makes no sense to me. I mean, unless
- 2:00:32Speaker 42: you view it from the perspective is they want to
- 2:00:34Speaker 42: bring all these illegal aliens into the country. They want
- 2:00:37Speaker 42: to make them citizens, knowing that they're all going to
- 2:00:39Speaker 42: vote for the Democrats that brought them in. and therefore
- 2:00:42Speaker 42: the Democrats will just have permanent political power. I mean,
- 2:00:45Speaker 42: that's the only logical reason that I can think of it.
- 2:00:48Speaker 42: And the scarier part is it's all being done at
- 2:00:50Speaker 42: the taxpayers' expenses. So you're paying taxes to keep— and you
- 2:00:54Speaker 42: had people, like, staying in hotels in New York City
- 2:00:57Speaker 42: with several hundred dollars a day, plus getting cell phones
- 2:01:03Speaker 42: and getting spending allowances. I mean, and we have people
- 2:01:07Speaker 42: that are struggling to pay their bills. It's It's the
- 2:01:09Speaker 42: most warped thing that you could possibly think of.
- 2:01:13Speaker 7: Yes.
- 2:01:14Speaker 1: And, you know, we have a caller on the line.
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: It's Sebastian from?
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: Colchester. Colchester on the line. Do you have a question?
- 2:01:23Speaker 11: Hi, Sebastian.
- 2:01:24Speaker 49: I have a question and I have a couple of comments.
- 2:01:26Speaker 49: I'm going to make it quick and concise. This guest,
- 2:01:30Speaker 49: your last guest, I didn't hear anything new. All I
- 2:01:33Speaker 49: heard was stating facts, which is fine. I don't dispute
- 2:01:37Speaker 49: the facts that they state. The kids aren't being taught
- 2:01:41Speaker 49: the way they should be taught. We have people here
- 2:01:44Speaker 49: getting money from us, taking away services from quote-unquote citizens.
- 2:01:48Speaker 49: You know what? That's all. It's like the die is
- 2:01:52Speaker 49: cast already. You know, with the kids not being taught,
- 2:01:55Speaker 49: it has nothing to do with the schools. It's the
- 2:01:58Speaker 49: other side of the equation, the parents. With the people
- 2:02:01Speaker 49: that are here getting the money, you know what? Once
- 2:02:03Speaker 49: you cast the die, that's that old saying, you can't
- 2:02:06Speaker 49: bring it back. You know, the horse is out of
- 2:02:10Speaker 49: the barn or whatever. Let's get some new ideas. I
- 2:02:14Speaker 49: hear no new ideas. The only new idea I ever
- 2:02:18Speaker 49: heard was Betsy McCoy telling me to ax the tax
- 2:02:21Speaker 49: in Connecticut. And you see what that got her?
- 2:02:24Speaker 18: Nothing.
- 2:02:25Speaker 49: So that was an idea. I don't hear any ideas
- 2:02:29Speaker 49: other than, it's so easy to point out the problems,
- 2:02:32Speaker 49: but give me an idea and I'll follow you to
- 2:02:34Speaker 49: the ends of the earth and say, yeah, you're right. Whereas,
- 2:02:37Speaker 49: you know, Trump gave me some ideas. I followed him,
- 2:02:41Speaker 49: but look where I am. So that's all I have
- 2:02:43Speaker 49: to say, really.
- 2:02:44Speaker 11: All right.
- 2:02:45Speaker 1: Well, thank you for your time. But, you know, I disagree.
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: We're trying to bring in gas lines. We're trying to
- 2:02:52Speaker 1: do different things. And You know, having Mr. Goldstein part
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: of the team, we'll be able to do the things
- 2:02:58Speaker 1: that we need to do to bring that gas pipeline
- 2:03:00Speaker 1: into Connecticut. And if you AI it, it says we'll
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: save a billion dollars in the first year in expenditures,
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: which is about $ 300 a household. It's about $ 100, 000 a school.
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: It's crazy money for a big high school. And without
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: these things coming forward, and we're talking about them, but
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: without being in power, you can't get anything done. So
- 2:03:20Speaker 1: you know what the Democrats have done. for the last
- 2:03:23Speaker 1: eight years for you, 12 years for you, since 2009
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: for you. And if you want to keep going that way,
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: if you think everything's fine, then I must be living
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: in a different planet.
- 2:03:34Speaker 11: Well, sure.
- 2:03:34Speaker 42: I mean, the bottom line is these problems were created
- 2:03:38Speaker 42: by the Democrats, specifically the immigration issue. It was created
- 2:03:43Speaker 42: by an open border. Trump closed the border. There's part
- 2:03:46Speaker 42: of the solution. The second part of the solution is
- 2:03:48Speaker 42: to start Removing people with the first priority being the criminals,
- 2:03:52Speaker 42: the gangs, the terrorists.
- 2:03:54Speaker 67: Get the worst people out first.
- 2:03:56Speaker 42: I mean, when Barack Obama deported more people than Trump
- 2:04:00Speaker 42: is deporting, the Democrats were silent. Now suddenly they're complaining.
- 2:04:05Speaker 42: It's pure hypocrisy. We're getting to the issue of the
- 2:04:08Speaker 42: natural gas. So under the current federal law, the governor
- 2:04:13Speaker 42: of New York, Kathy Hochul, can block a pipeline that
- 2:04:15Speaker 42: comes from Pennsylvania to Connecticut. And yet the seven people
- 2:04:21Speaker 42: that represent us in the federal government, two senators and
- 2:04:23Speaker 42: five congressmen, not a single one of them has ever
- 2:04:26Speaker 42: stepped up to the plate and proposed changing that legislation.
- 2:04:30Speaker 42: So as the press caller said, nobody's saying something. I'm
- 2:04:33Speaker 42: saying change the law. I'll go even one step further.
- 2:04:37Speaker 42: Kathy Hochul then, in pure hypocrisy, is now allowing a
- 2:04:42Speaker 42: pipeline to come to Long Island to bring natural gas there.
- 2:04:45Speaker 42: to the state of New York while she's blocking pipelines
- 2:04:50Speaker 42: to the state of Connecticut. And since Connecticut and New
- 2:04:52Speaker 42: York compete with each other for housing and for jobs,
- 2:04:55Speaker 42: she is essentially acting in what I would call an
- 2:04:57Speaker 42: anti-competitive way.
- 2:04:59Speaker 67: And actually, if we had a.
- 2:05:00Speaker 42: Governor that's different than the one they had, they might
- 2:05:03Speaker 42: actually be able to file a federal antitrust lawsuit against
- 2:05:07Speaker 42: the state of New York. So, yes, there are changes.
- 2:05:10Speaker 42: But if you want to vote for the same people
- 2:05:11Speaker 42: and you like the fact that jobs have left the
- 2:05:13Speaker 42: state of Connecticut You like the fact that the taxes
- 2:05:16Speaker 42: are the highest. You like the fact that we're betraying
- 2:05:19Speaker 42: our young by hiring people who are not citizens over citizens. Well, sure,
- 2:05:24Speaker 42: just vote for the way things are. But if you
- 2:05:25Speaker 42: want something better, you have to vote for different people.
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: Thank you. So the other thing I want to talk
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: about is this new act that Trump has put out
- 2:05:35Speaker 2: called the MOVE Act. And I think it's something that's
- 2:05:39Speaker 2: going to really need to be passed. I'm sure the Democrats.
- 2:05:42Speaker 1: In our state will vote against it, but The MOVE
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: Act is that you will be able to take your
- 2:05:47Speaker 1: mortgage and move it to your next house. And this
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: will be huge if this happens because being in the
- 2:05:53Speaker 1: real estate business, and if you have a 3% interest rate,
- 2:05:56Speaker 1: you're not going to sell your house to give up
- 2:05:58Speaker 1: that 3% interest rate, but you'll.
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: Still be able to move.
- 2:06:01Speaker 1: This will not solve the housing shortage, but it will
- 2:06:04Speaker 1: create inventory, it will create taxes, and it will put
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: a lot of money into the economy because if I
- 2:06:09Speaker 1: can take my mortgage of $ 300, 000 at 3%, which I'm
- 2:06:11Speaker 1: paying $ 9, 000 a year in interest on, and if I
- 2:06:16Speaker 1: go to buy a new house, that first $ 300, 000 I
- 2:06:19Speaker 1: borrow is a 6.5%, which.
- 2:06:21Speaker 2: Is $ 20, 000 a year.
- 2:06:22Speaker 1: So it's $ 11, 000 more a year to move. But if
- 2:06:26Speaker 1: I could take that mortgage, I would move. Now, what
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: does that do? That gives two realtors a commission. It
- 2:06:31Speaker 1: gives the state conveyance tax. It gives Connecticut conveyance tax.
- 2:06:35Speaker 1: It gives the town's conveyance tax, so they.
- 2:06:37Speaker 2: Get a percent.
- 2:06:38Speaker 1: And every person that buys a house spends an average
- 2:06:41Speaker 1: in your state of about $ 15, 000. on remodeling, painting, kitchens, appliances,
- 2:06:48Speaker 1: all that stuff which is spent in your economy. And
- 2:06:51Speaker 1: this will be a great act. What do you think
- 2:06:53Speaker 1: about this bill he proposed? You would be voting on
- 2:06:56Speaker 1: it when you get into office.
- 2:06:58Speaker 42: I think it's a great idea because, as you said,
- 2:07:01Speaker 42: it stimulates the economy. And also, remember, too, if somebody's
- 2:07:04Speaker 42: in a house, the mortgage is low, and maybe they
- 2:07:07Speaker 42: want to buy a bigger house because they have a
- 2:07:08Speaker 42: growing family, but they can't afford to do that. So
- 2:07:11Speaker 42: it gives them the chance to move into a bigger house.
- 2:07:14Speaker 42: And it gives somebody else a chance to buy a house.
- 2:07:17Speaker 67: You're right.
- 2:07:18Speaker 42: It recycles money into the economy. And sure, some of
- 2:07:20Speaker 42: these people are even going to spend more than that
- 2:07:22Speaker 42: on renovations. And also, what about the company that's doing
- 2:07:25Speaker 42: the moving? That's also creating jobs. So you're talking about
- 2:07:29Speaker 42: a lot of jobs. You're talking about a lot of work.
- 2:07:34Speaker 42: And you're talking about also making people's lives better. And
- 2:07:37Speaker 42: so I think it's a great idea.
- 2:07:39Speaker 17: Great.
- 2:07:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:07:40Speaker 1: So this is just some of the things that are
- 2:07:42Speaker 1: being proposed that just seemed to keep sitting and spinning,
- 2:07:45Speaker 1: you know, waiting for Congress to get back to, you know,
- 2:07:48Speaker 1: back there on another long break again. So 94.9 News Now,

- 2:14:03Speaker 1: This is George Agnelli with 94.9 News Now and Simulating Talk.
- 2:14:08Speaker 1: We're here with Michael Goldstein, who's a candidate for Congress
- 2:14:11Speaker 1: against Jim Himes. And he's going to tell you a
- 2:14:12Speaker 1: little bit about how to get a hold of his
- 2:14:13Speaker 1: campaign if you want to get involved, if you'd like
- 2:14:16Speaker 1: to learn more about him. We're going to give a
- 2:14:19Speaker 1: quick minute shameful plug to him. And we do offer
- 2:14:23Speaker 1: this to Jim Himes if he would love to come
- 2:14:25Speaker 1: on the show. I have a lot of questions for him,
- 2:14:27Speaker 1: but I don't think he'll be here. And we are
- 2:14:29Speaker 1: taking your phone calls, 860-464-7000.
- 2:14:32Speaker 35: 9-4-9-0.
- 2:14:32Speaker 2: Get in the queue now.
- 2:14:36Speaker 11: Sure.
- 2:14:36Speaker 42: So anyway, so my website is www.goldsteinforcongress.com. You can go
- 2:14:43Speaker 42: on it. You can get information. You can contact me.
- 2:14:46Speaker 42: You can donate money. You can volunteer. It's expensive to
- 2:14:50Speaker 42: run against an incumbent, and we need to raise money
- 2:14:52Speaker 42: as much as possible, and we need as many volunteers
- 2:14:54Speaker 42: as possible. We need a grassroots army fighting against an
- 2:14:58Speaker 42: incumbent who– has done next to nothing for the state
- 2:15:02Speaker 42: of Connecticut. You know, what's really interesting is, in general,
- 2:15:06Speaker 42: congressmen are supposed to bring jobs to the state of Connecticut.
- 2:15:09Speaker 42: And in Haim's case, we actually lost 400 postal jobs
- 2:15:12Speaker 42: because our mail used to be sorted in Stanford, Connecticut.
- 2:15:16Speaker 42: Now our mail gets sorted in White Plains, and apparently
- 2:15:19Speaker 42: there were 400 postal workers involved in doing that mail sorting.
- 2:15:22Speaker 67: And it also makes our mail much slower.
- 2:15:24Speaker 42: So our mail goes from your post office in Connecticut
- 2:15:27Speaker 42: to White Plains and then back to Connecticut, All thanks
- 2:15:30Speaker 42: to the fact that Jim Himes did not keep our
- 2:15:32Speaker 42: mail sorting and our postal jobs in the state of Connecticut.
- 2:15:37Speaker 1: And these are things you don't hear about on the
- 2:15:39Speaker 1: regular news. And that's what the problem with the regular
- 2:15:41Speaker 1: news is that 80 percent is controlled by the Democrats.
- 2:15:45Speaker 1: And it's just something that you don't hear about these
- 2:15:47Speaker 1: job losses. You don't hear about the stuff that's going on.
- 2:15:50Speaker 1: And the people that are listening to the show have
- 2:15:52Speaker 1: an idea what's going on because they've been affected by
- 2:15:54Speaker 1: it or they know somebody that's been affected by it.
- 2:15:57Speaker 2: It just hasn't.
- 2:15:57Speaker 1: Happened to the mainstream where they actually say, hey, it's
- 2:16:00Speaker 1: time to start paying attention.
- 2:16:02Speaker 42: Well, a great example is Interstate 95. It is probably
- 2:16:07Speaker 42: one of the worst roads in the country. The traffic
- 2:16:10Speaker 42: is awful, and 80% of the money to fix the
- 2:16:12Speaker 42: road would come from the federal government. Yet all the
- 2:16:16Speaker 42: money that's fixing roads in Connecticut, almost all of it
- 2:16:18Speaker 42: is actually going to the Hartford area. So there are
- 2:16:21Speaker 42: two areas, there's two things that could be done in 95.
- 2:16:23Speaker 42: In certain parts of the road, there's a part, like
- 2:16:27Speaker 42: there's like a lane to the left of the left
- 2:16:29Speaker 42: lane between that and the center of environment, which is
- 2:16:32Speaker 42: basically wide enough for an HOV lane during rush hour.
- 2:16:36Speaker 42: In areas where there's not enough to widen it, you
- 2:16:39Speaker 42: could do what's been done in many places, a movable barrier,
- 2:16:45Speaker 42: so that you could have four lanes of traffic going
- 2:16:48Speaker 42: in the heavier direction and two lanes going in the
- 2:16:50Speaker 42: lighter direction, and then you could flip it at the
- 2:16:53Speaker 42: end of the day in the opposite direction. So you
- 2:16:54Speaker 42: could always have at least one extra lane on the
- 2:16:57Speaker 42: heavier side. But none of this is being done because
- 2:17:01Speaker 42: it's not a priority.
- 2:17:03Speaker 1: 94.9 News Now and Simulating Talk here with George Agnelli

- 2:20:11Speaker 64: this past weekend had all the feels of the old
- 2:20:14Speaker 64: school new york boston rivalry not only that it felt
- 2:20:17Speaker 64: like and was the most important series of the season
- 2:20:20Speaker 64: so far especially because it was going to dictate who
- 2:20:23Speaker 64: owned the tiebreaker and who would get home field advantage
- 2:20:25Speaker 64: if the two teams met in the playoffs And even
- 2:20:27Speaker 64: though the Red Sox are staring up at the Yankees
- 2:20:29Speaker 64: in the standings, all Boston had to do was split
- 2:20:31Speaker 64: the series this weekend, and they would have had all
- 2:20:33Speaker 64: the postseason advantages going their way. The Sox got Roman
- 2:20:36Speaker 64: Anthony back, Trevor Story back too. And just when it
- 2:20:39Speaker 64: kind of looked like the Sox were going to get
- 2:20:41Speaker 64: out of the Bronx with a split, it happened. Sedan

- 2:22:50Speaker 25: I'm Rob Ray. When news breaks, we break in.
- 2:22:53Speaker 1: Hi, this is George Agnelli from 94 News Now, stimulating talk.
- 2:22:58Speaker 1: And we're here with Michael Goldstein. And, you know, there's
- 2:23:00Speaker 1: something very interesting been proposed, which would be phenomenal.
- 2:23:04Speaker 2: I mean, phenomenal. Anybody that has to travel 95.
- 2:23:07Speaker 1: Try to get a Yankee game or try to go
- 2:23:09Speaker 1: do things, you understand what that highway can be like
- 2:23:13Speaker 1: or just going, you know, trying to meet somebody in
- 2:23:15Speaker 1: New Jersey or Long Island. You know, I can see
- 2:23:18Speaker 1: Long Island when I leave my beach house, but it
- 2:23:19Speaker 1: takes me four hours to drive around and get there.
- 2:23:21Speaker 1: And from Bridgeport to Kingsbury, they're proposing a six mile
- 2:23:27Speaker 1: bridge that will be public, mostly public money used for it.
- 2:23:31Speaker 1: And your commute to Long Island will be 22 minutes.
- 2:23:35Speaker 67: I mean, I think it's a good idea in a
- 2:23:37Speaker 67: lot of ways.
- 2:23:37Speaker 42: Number one, there's more people that live on Long Island
- 2:23:40Speaker 42: than live in the state of Connecticut, and so that
- 2:23:43Speaker 42: there could be cross-pollination between the two economies just by
- 2:23:46Speaker 42: having that bridge. And also, in terms of people that are,
- 2:23:49Speaker 42: you know, you talk about green energy, if companies come
- 2:23:54Speaker 42: from New England and have to go to Long Island,
- 2:23:55Speaker 42: they have to go around this large loop, and they're
- 2:23:57Speaker 42: burning all this extra fossil fuel, and they're getting stuck
- 2:24:00Speaker 42: in traffic. So there are economic benefits as well. and
- 2:24:04Speaker 42: their environmental benefits. And these things have been proposed, I think,
- 2:24:08Speaker 42: since the 1930s. And yet during the Revolutionary War period,
- 2:24:14Speaker 42: people took little boats and they went back and forth
- 2:24:16Speaker 42: between these two places, and there was a lot of communication.
- 2:24:20Speaker 42: So certainly, it is a good idea. It's the economics,
- 2:24:24Speaker 42: the feasibility. And let's face it, we don't get our
- 2:24:26Speaker 42: fair share of federal money anyway. So It would certainly
- 2:24:29Speaker 42: create a hell of a lot of jobs, and we
- 2:24:32Speaker 42: need jobs in Connecticut. So I think it's got a
- 2:24:37Speaker 42: lot of potential. I think it's something that we should
- 2:24:39Speaker 42: certainly talk about and certainly talk to the people in
- 2:24:42Speaker 42: New York and see if we can get some support.
- 2:24:46Speaker 1: Well, the big problem is this needs to go to
- 2:24:48Speaker 1: the state DOT, and they need to do a survey
- 2:24:50Speaker 1: on it, and it's been stalled because the governor won't
- 2:24:52Speaker 1: send it to the state DOT.
- 2:24:53Speaker 18: Okay.
- 2:24:55Speaker 1: And I don't understand because Kathy Hochul now realizes she's
- 2:24:58Speaker 1: got to bring natural gas from Pennsylvania instead of Canada
- 2:25:01Speaker 1: into Long Island. So the gas is already going to
- 2:25:03Speaker 1: be in there, and we can make it as part
- 2:25:05Speaker 1: of getting that pipeline over to us. And like I said,
- 2:25:07Speaker 1: we'll be putting a lot of money into our economy.
- 2:25:10Speaker 1: And this is a private bridge. We're not building it
- 2:25:12Speaker 1: with government money. They need very little money from the
- 2:25:15Speaker 1: government to get it started, like 2% or 3%. It's
- 2:25:16Speaker 1: a very small amount. And they're going to build it
- 2:25:20Speaker 1: with their own money and then charge a toll to
- 2:25:22Speaker 1: go across it. And it will not be federally funded.
- 2:25:24Speaker 1: So it's not coming out of our pockets. It will
- 2:25:26Speaker 1: be coming out of the developer's pocket. And he will
- 2:25:29Speaker 1: charge a certain fee for going across. And it's basically
- 2:25:32Speaker 1: his bridge to maintain, his bridge to take care of.
- 2:25:35Speaker 1: And if you want to cross, you can. But here's
- 2:25:36Speaker 1: the nice part. Just think, if we took half the
- 2:25:39Speaker 1: traffic off 95 and put it on this.
- 2:25:41Speaker 2: Bridge, we wouldn't have to spend any money on 95.
- 2:25:44Speaker 42: Well, it depends how low down you go. Because a
- 2:25:47Speaker 42: lot of traffic on 95 is actually commuting traffic. A
- 2:25:50Speaker 42: lot of the average distance that people travel on 95
- 2:25:54Speaker 42: is under 16 miles. So I think that part of
- 2:25:58Speaker 42: it you're not going to lose. But the interstate part
- 2:26:00Speaker 42: of it you could definitely lose. And the reality is
- 2:26:03Speaker 42: that's what they do in Florida. They have privately funded
- 2:26:06Speaker 42: roads and they charge tolls. And if there is somebody
- 2:26:08Speaker 42: that wants to invest that much money into doing it–
- 2:26:13Speaker 42: They should do it, and the tolls just have to
- 2:26:16Speaker 42: be competitive.
- 2:26:16Speaker 67: If the tolls are too high, people just won't use it.
- 2:26:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:26:20Speaker 1: And as you look at the program, it's a phenomenal program.
- 2:26:26Speaker 1: The state of Connecticut has to come up with less
- 2:26:28Speaker 1: money from what I've been reading, that they're just now
- 2:26:31Speaker 1: spending 1.6 billion on a rail project to speed up
- 2:26:36Speaker 1: trains on the New Haven line so that you can
- 2:26:39Speaker 1: get to New York 20 minutes sooner.
- 2:26:41Speaker 2: So we're spending 1.6 billion.
- 2:26:43Speaker 1: But we're not putting this project in front of DOT,
- 2:26:48Speaker 1: which I think they're only asking for $ 1.
- 2:26:49Speaker 2: 2 billion, which.
- 2:26:52Speaker 1: A lot of that part of it will be federally.
- 2:26:54Speaker 1: The beginning part of the project will be funded by
- 2:27:01Speaker 1: the state of Connecticut to get it started, but they
- 2:27:02Speaker 1: won't even look at the feasibility study of building this,
- 2:27:05Speaker 1: which has to get started. Without a doubt, we need
- 2:27:08Speaker 1: to have this bridge yesterday, not five years from now.
- 2:27:12Speaker 42: Well, once again, because of the fact that there's a–
- 2:27:15Speaker 42: and they would also stimulate huge interstate economic relationships. But
- 2:27:20Speaker 42: getting back to just a quick thing about 95, if
- 2:27:22Speaker 42: you actually look at where the federal money is going,
- 2:27:25Speaker 42: the overwhelming majority of the federal money that's fixing Metro-North
- 2:27:28Speaker 42: is actually going in, once.
- 2:27:30Speaker 67: Again, the Hartford area.
- 2:27:31Speaker 42: And it's not really going along the part of the
- 2:27:34Speaker 42: New Haven line that runs through the coast based on
- 2:27:37Speaker 42: the current appropriations.
- 2:27:39Speaker 35: Yep.
- 2:27:41Speaker 1: Just so you know, the state DOT has spent $ 43
- 2:27:46Speaker 1: billion since January 6th. Work being performed by Tilcon is
- 2:27:51Speaker 1: scheduled for engineering to see what type of pavement they
- 2:27:55Speaker 1: like better, and they're going to use some of that.
- 2:27:58Speaker 2: So we spent $ 43 billion.
- 2:27:58Speaker 1: $ 43, 699, 900 of federal money to redo a couple miles on
- 2:28:07Speaker 1: Route 2 to test asphalt to see which asphalt we.
- 2:28:11Speaker 2: Look like better.
- 2:28:12Speaker 1: I don't have all the information on this, but This
- 2:28:15Speaker 1: is just craziness, and this is where I'm at.
- 2:28:17Speaker 2: I mean, why not rebuild the whole highway.
- 2:28:19Speaker 1: For $ 46 million, $ 43 million?
- 2:28:22Speaker 2: $ 43 billion, sorry. Is that really getting— Sounded like Biden
- 2:28:25Speaker 2: there for a second.
- 2:28:25Speaker 11: Yeah, right.
- 2:28:26Speaker 67: Really, any $ 43 billion for the roads? I mean, my God,
- 2:28:30Speaker 67: that's— There's.
- 2:28:31Speaker 2: A sheet that the DOT worker gave me.
- 2:28:34Speaker 67: That's unbelievable. You could make a whole new highway.
- 2:28:38Speaker 70: Yeah.
- 2:28:38Speaker 1: Oh, we have Frank from Watertown on. Frank, how you doing? Good,
- 2:28:44Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 2:28:45Speaker 57: Good.
- 2:28:45Speaker 43: I'm listening about the situation with the trains versus the bridge.
- 2:28:51Speaker 43: And we always say follow the money. Now, when the
- 2:28:55Speaker 43: trains are going to get the money to save the
- 2:28:58Speaker 43: 20 minutes, all those union workers on the train and
- 2:29:03Speaker 43: all the people in the restaurants and cafes that the
- 2:29:09Speaker 43: train supports are voters for the Democrats. So follow the money.
- 2:29:14Speaker 43: That's probably why Lamont, there's a bunch of voters he
- 2:29:17Speaker 43: would alienate.
- 2:29:19Speaker 25: Oh, probably.
- 2:29:20Speaker 2: I mean, it's always follow the money with the Democrats.
- 2:29:23Speaker 2: There's no question.
- 2:29:24Speaker 1: Did you see any big protests this summer since they
- 2:29:28Speaker 1: defunded that, well, what's that program that Trump got rid
- 2:29:33Speaker 1: of that had all the free money going to Uganda,
- 2:29:37Speaker 1: circumcisions and, you know, transgender surgeries, USAID?
- 2:29:42Speaker 2: You know?
- 2:29:44Speaker 43: Well, you know what? Common sense. Just common sense. We've
- 2:29:47Speaker 43: got to take care of ourselves sometime in the near
- 2:29:51Speaker 43: future because the Democrats don't take care of us. They
- 2:29:54Speaker 43: take care of themselves, voters, and they don't care how
- 2:29:57Speaker 43: they get their voters, and that's just the way it
- 2:30:00Speaker 43: is with them, and they're getting worse instead of better.
- 2:30:03Speaker 26: Yes.
- 2:30:03Speaker 2: Do you have a question for Dr. Goldstein about running
- 2:30:07Speaker 2: for office?
- 2:30:08Speaker 43: Well, what I want to say is when you're going
- 2:30:12Speaker 43: against I think you're going against Heinz, right?
- 2:30:14Speaker 67: Yes, that's exactly right.
- 2:30:17Speaker 43: You've got... He has a lot of name recognition, but
- 2:30:20Speaker 43: you are a doctor. You have to use... Don't you
- 2:30:24Speaker 43: want to try and, like, promote yourself? Because I feel
- 2:30:28Speaker 43: that a doctor would be so much smarter than Jim Heinz,
- 2:30:31Speaker 43: who was a communist at heart. So I think that
- 2:30:34Speaker 43: maybe you should be using your credentials against them, and
- 2:30:39Speaker 43: it seems like you have a lot of... better ideas
- 2:30:43Speaker 43: on helping the people of Connecticut. I think that's maybe
- 2:30:47Speaker 43: where you should be focusing on, that you're helping rather
- 2:30:49Speaker 43: than hurting.
- 2:30:50Speaker 42: Well, our motto on our signs and our doorknockers is
- 2:30:54Speaker 42: put a doctor in the house. So we are actually
- 2:30:57Speaker 42: doing that. I mean, doctors are essentially people that actually
- 2:31:00Speaker 42: generally look out for the good of other people and
- 2:31:03Speaker 42: actually tend to be healers and problem solvers. And those
- 2:31:06Speaker 42: are good traits that you need in a congressman. rather
- 2:31:10Speaker 42: than somebody who's essentially a professional politician who just follows
- 2:31:15Speaker 42: the lead of their party.
- 2:31:17Speaker 43: Right. Doc, you got what they call the Hippocratic Oath.
- 2:31:20Speaker 11: Is it?
- 2:31:20Speaker 67: Yeah, yes, not the Hippocratic Oath, the Hippocratic Oath.
- 2:31:24Speaker 42: Hippocratic Oath, not the Hippocratic Oath.
- 2:31:27Speaker 43: Yeah, and that you have an oath to help people.
- 2:31:31Speaker 43: Jim Hines doesn't.
- 2:31:34Speaker 11: That's true.
- 2:31:35Speaker 2: Well, I don't see anybody's life being better.
- 2:31:37Speaker 1: I don't think your life is better or my life
- 2:31:38Speaker 1: is better since he's hit that office in 2009. The
- 2:31:41Speaker 1: only person's life that's gotten better is Jim Himes.
- 2:31:44Speaker 11: That's, yeah.
- 2:31:46Speaker 43: Well, good luck to you, Doc.
- 2:31:47Speaker 67: Well, thank you.
- 2:31:48Speaker 42: Even though you're not in my district, if you have
- 2:31:50Speaker 42: friends just anywhere, just spread my name around. If you're
- 2:31:53Speaker 42: on the Internet, just let people know about me and
- 2:31:56Speaker 42: just spread the word.

- 2:33:48Speaker 19: When planning for retirement, a big mistake people make is
- 2:33:51Speaker 19: underestimating how much income they'll actually need. You may think
- 2:33:54Speaker 19: you can live on 70 or 80% of your working paycheck,
- 2:33:57Speaker 19: but that doesn't always hold up.
- 2:33:59Speaker 11: Some expenses do indeed go away, but.

- 2:38:31Speaker 1: Hi, this is George Agnelli from 94.9 News Now and
- 2:38:34Speaker 1: Simulating Talk. And we're here with Michael Goldstein running for Congress.
- 2:38:41Speaker 1: Really quick, I just want everybody to take this name down.
- 2:38:44Speaker 1: I'm going to give it to you ahead of time.
- 2:38:46Speaker 1: And doing the research for this show, knowing that this
- 2:38:49Speaker 1: show man was on, I did the research on Jim Himes.
- 2:38:52Speaker 1: And there's a guy named Peter Thiel that I think
- 2:38:55Speaker 1: is going to make Epstein look like an ant.
- 2:38:59Speaker 2: He has a sex cult. And he's building World War II.
- 2:39:02Speaker 1: And according to the New York Post, Jim Himes and
- 2:39:05Speaker 1: him spend a lot of time together on all this stuff.
- 2:39:09Speaker 1: And I'm not going to go long into this because
- 2:39:12Speaker 1: I don't want to take away much from callers that
- 2:39:14Speaker 1: are calling in and doing that. But according to this,
- 2:39:17Speaker 1: Jim Himes and part of this program, and you can
- 2:39:21Speaker 1: Google it, research it after the show, and you can
- 2:39:24Speaker 1: read it all about yourself, is a company called Dialogue,
- 2:39:27Speaker 1: which also doubles as a matchmaking service. And some of
- 2:39:31Speaker 1: the questions they ask you if you call dialogue is,
- 2:39:33Speaker 1: how is your sex life? Build a cult and navigating
- 2:39:36Speaker 1: World War III. We can help you with all those things.
- 2:39:40Speaker 1: While exposing the organization's report to assured asset members would
- 2:39:44Speaker 1: remain private, all of a sudden these records are starting
- 2:39:47Speaker 1: to become public. We know the mainstream media will not
- 2:39:50Speaker 1: pick up on it, but this was an article in
- 2:39:52Speaker 1: the New York Post a few minutes ago. So we'll
- 2:39:54Speaker 1: give you a minute to talk about it, and then
- 2:39:55Speaker 1: we're going to grab the callers.
- 2:39:57Speaker 11: Sure.
- 2:39:57Speaker 42: I think it's kind of a shadow government. It's also
- 2:40:01Speaker 42: obviously stuff's going on there that is pretty scary. If
- 2:40:05Speaker 42: it's a sex club, it's even worse. And it's just
- 2:40:11Speaker 42: the fact that Himes is participating in this is really
- 2:40:17Speaker 42: kind of troublesome. And I think that this whole thing
- 2:40:20Speaker 42: needs to be exposed. The details need to come out,
- 2:40:22Speaker 42: and people really need to know more about representing them
- 2:40:27Speaker 42: in Congress and really what the ultimate goals of this
- 2:40:31Speaker 42: guy feel are for creating this organization and what he
- 2:40:35Speaker 42: really wants to accomplish. A lot of people look at
- 2:40:37Speaker 42: these things as shadow governments that try to control governments
- 2:40:40Speaker 42: from behind the scenes and certainly If that's what's going on,
- 2:40:44Speaker 42: then that's not really what our democracy is about.
- 2:40:48Speaker 2: No, not at all.
- 2:40:48Speaker 1: So we're going to take a caller because we're going
- 2:40:50Speaker 1: to run out of time, which has been fun being
- 2:40:52Speaker 1: with you on Monday.
- 2:40:53Speaker 2: Thank you. If you have any criticisms, please send them over.
- 2:40:56Speaker 2: I'll be happy to take them.
- 2:40:58Speaker 57: Good morning. This is Reed from the Northwest Hills.
- 2:41:00Speaker 21: How are you, Dr.
- 2:41:01Speaker 18: Goldstein?
- 2:41:02Speaker 67: How are you doing, Reed?
- 2:41:03Speaker 41: I'm having trouble hearing you.
- 2:41:06Speaker 67: Okay.
- 2:41:07Speaker 57: I just wanted to bring up the question of election
- 2:41:12Speaker 57: projections done by these so-called prediction markets. And just as
- 2:41:19Speaker 57: with AI, which I suppose this is really a subset of,
- 2:41:23Speaker 57: there's a lot of people in government talking about regulating
- 2:41:28Speaker 57: the development of these things at a time when people
- 2:41:33Speaker 57: who are independent-minded economists warn that regulation on this type
- 2:41:39Speaker 57: of thing, which is critical to the future of our economy,
- 2:41:43Speaker 57: is a serious threat. But I find it amazing that
- 2:41:49Speaker 57: these things get so much prominence and attract so much
- 2:41:52Speaker 57: money and betting when they're really not that accurate. However,
- 2:41:57Speaker 57: having said that, they're really showing, and I tried to
- 2:42:01Speaker 57: pick one that was an amalgam so that I wasn't
- 2:42:05Speaker 57: biasing at any particular service, there is a huge shift,
- 2:42:10Speaker 57: according to these prediction markets, coming in both the House
- 2:42:14Speaker 57: and the Senate. Have you developed any policy thoughts about this?
- 2:42:19Speaker 42: There's always– one of the biggest problems that we have
- 2:42:23Speaker 42: in our country is overregulation.
- 2:42:26Speaker 11: Exactly.
- 2:42:27Speaker 42: And so I can tell you as a doctor in
- 2:42:30Speaker 42: our health care system, one of the reasons health care
- 2:42:32Speaker 42: is so expensive– is the government. The government's regulatory process
- 2:42:37Speaker 42: is essentially destroying healthcare. And for example, the average doctor
- 2:42:43Speaker 42: spends 20 hours a week doing data entry into a computer,
- 2:42:47Speaker 42: rather than taking care of patients. So certainly if what
- 2:42:52Speaker 42: the government has done to medicine is an example of
- 2:42:54Speaker 42: what they're going to do to AI, then I think
- 2:42:57Speaker 42: that it's going to be very problematic. Because once again,
- 2:42:59Speaker 42: the people that are doing the regulation don't necessarily understand
- 2:43:04Speaker 42: the industries they're regulating. And sometimes they do regulations for
- 2:43:08Speaker 42: the sake of regulations or because somebody of some interest
- 2:43:12Speaker 42: group is pushing for these regulations. So I think that
- 2:43:17Speaker 42: our entire economy is overregulated, and I think it destroys competitiveness.
- 2:43:23Speaker 42: It destroys innovation. It destroys small businesses. And so I
- 2:43:28Speaker 42: think that in our entire government, we need to scale
- 2:43:30Speaker 42: back on regulation.
- 2:43:33Speaker 57: But as to the quality of these prediction markets, are
- 2:43:37Speaker 57: you finding that in your own race that there is
- 2:43:40Speaker 57: a similarity or a significant difference between what the prediction
- 2:43:44Speaker 57: markets show versus your own, I guess, private polling?
- 2:43:50Speaker 42: Well, we haven't really done private polling at this particular point. Look,
- 2:43:53Speaker 42: I know that I'm an underdog. And my race begins
- 2:43:58Speaker 42: as a 60-40 race. And from there, it has to
- 2:44:03Speaker 42: be brought uphill and it has to change. And the
- 2:44:06Speaker 42: way we change it is by changing people's minds. And
- 2:44:10Speaker 42: certainly as we go further along, we'll be looking into
- 2:44:13Speaker 42: some of these things a little bit more with more clarity.
- 2:44:16Speaker 42: But certainly it's just important for people. At this point,
- 2:44:21Speaker 42: a lot of it is just trying to get information
- 2:44:23Speaker 42: out to people because most people are– surprisingly unaware of
- 2:44:28Speaker 42: what's going on when it comes to elections. And a
- 2:44:30Speaker 42: lot of people just that don't know that much simply
- 2:44:34Speaker 42: will just pick who they're voting for for governor and
- 2:44:36Speaker 42: just go straight across that line and vote for the
- 2:44:38Speaker 42: same party. And this is this is one part of
- 2:44:41Speaker 42: the cycle that we need to break.
- 2:44:44Speaker 43: Thank you very much for your time.
- 2:44:45Speaker 67: You're very welcome.
- 2:44:47Speaker 1: So we're going to we'll be at the 21st. At
- 2:44:51Speaker 1: Water's Edge, you'll get to meet a lot of candidates.
- 2:44:53Speaker 1: I know Fazio's committed. I know that Matt Corey's committed.
- 2:44:57Speaker 1: I know that several other areas have committed. I just
- 2:45:01Speaker 1: don't want to mention all the names on here. A
- 2:45:06Speaker 1: good friend of mine that's familiar with this radio station
- 2:45:09Speaker 1: is going to be there if you want to say
- 2:45:11Speaker 1: hello to him. Um, and we're going to have a
- 2:45:13Speaker 1: great time. We're going to give you one minute to
- 2:45:15Speaker 1: plug in your thing. I thank you guys for listening
- 2:45:17Speaker 1: to me and giving me the opportunity to come into
- 2:45:20Speaker 1: your lives. And hopefully I gave you some information on
- 2:45:23Speaker 1: what's going on in the world. And, um, I don't
- 2:45:25Speaker 1: mind debating back and forth.
- 2:45:27Speaker 35: Sure.
- 2:45:28Speaker 42: Just once again, the best way to track me down
- 2:45:30Speaker 42: and learn about my campaign and volunteer and help is
- 2:45:33Speaker 42: at www.goldsteinforcongress.com. This is a race where I'm fighting for America,
- 2:45:39Speaker 42: fighting for the future of our country and fighting for
- 2:45:42Speaker 42: the future of our health care system, fighting for the
- 2:45:45Speaker 42: future of Connecticut. And I need your help. I need
- 2:45:50Speaker 42: your support. If you can donate money, it's great. If
- 2:45:53Speaker 42: you can volunteer, it's great. This is a grassroots campaign
