- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on 710WOR. Thank you, Shadow Stevens. Well,
- 0:06Speaker 1: this just announced Caroline Leavitt, formerly the White House press secretary,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Caroline Leavitt, will join Fox News as a contributor. Now,
- 0:16Speaker 1: at some point, I would imagine she'll have her own show,
- 0:19Speaker 1: like a lot of other ex-press secretaries, Dana Perino and
- 0:23Speaker 1: Kayleigh McEnany and others. But for now, a contributor, that's
- 0:27Speaker 1: probably what she wants, because That means you appear on
- 0:31Speaker 1: various Fox shows as a guest. You do 10 minutes
- 0:34Speaker 1: on this show, 10 minutes on that show, and you
- 0:36Speaker 1: can do it from home. They set you up at
- 0:38Speaker 1: home with a little mini TV set there. It's a
- 0:42Speaker 1: big TV screen behind you that puts the background in.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It's three lights and a camera. And it's just, you know,
- 0:50Speaker 1: once in a while, you know, every couple hours you
- 0:52Speaker 1: do 10 minutes. So the whole point of her leaving
- 0:54Speaker 1: the White House was so she could be with her
- 0:56Speaker 1: kids and help you know, around the house, be there
- 0:59Speaker 1: to raise her kids. So this is the perfect job.
- 1:01Speaker 1: She'll do this. So once she's doing this, you'll see
- 1:03Speaker 1: her on Fox and Friends. You'll see her on Outnumbered
- 1:08Speaker 1: or you'll see her on Hannity or you'll see her
- 1:10Speaker 1: on Jesse. And it's an easy way to do it.
- 1:13Speaker 1: And a lot of these contributors have never left their house.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It's a great job. You don't have to go anywhere.
- 1:18Speaker 1: You just got to go into the other room and
- 1:20Speaker 1: do 10 minutes and come back. Uh, Now, some show.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I'm on Kudlow all the time. There, you've got to
- 1:25Speaker 1: be on the set. It's very important because it's a
- 1:27Speaker 1: great-looking set. But perfect for Caroline Leavitt. And then at
- 1:34Speaker 1: some point, if she's great as a contributor, they'll give
- 1:37Speaker 1: her her own show. When she's ready to come back full-time.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Let's take some calls. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 1:43Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 1:45Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 1:45Speaker 3: I'm doing very well, thank you. Mark, during yesterday's Chicago
- 1:49Speaker 3: Bears game, I saw a great ad with President Trump
- 1:53Speaker 3: As he walked down the hall line with pictures, he
- 1:55Speaker 3: listed all of his plans and accomplishments. And I thought
- 2:00Speaker 3: it was quite powerful. This is excellent timing for the midterms.
- 2:05Speaker 1: A question, if I may.
- 2:07Speaker 3: How is Barron Trump doing these days?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Oh, that's a good question. He's doing fine. A lot
- 2:11Speaker 1: of people love that ad of President Trump. You know,
- 2:15Speaker 1: they say, wow, it's very dramatic. Ooh, that's a powerful ad. Now,
- 2:18Speaker 1: if you're a Democrat... You're getting livid. I think that's
- 2:22Speaker 1: one reason he's running the ad, just to make Democrats nauseous.
- 2:25Speaker 1: They go crazy when they see this ad. Now, the
- 2:27Speaker 1: other problem is he used taxpayer funds to pay for it.
- 2:30Speaker 1: He had the government pay for it. I guess you're
- 2:32Speaker 1: not supposed to do that. Well, legally, technically, he's right.
- 2:37Speaker 1: You're not supposed to spend government money on campaign ads.
- 2:41Speaker 1: But the ad's only really about him. And as he
- 2:43Speaker 1: points out, he's not a candidate. He's not running for
- 2:46Speaker 1: anything ever again. He'll never be running for anything ever again.
- 2:50Speaker 1: So technically it's not a campaign ad, but it's perfect Trump.
- 2:54Speaker 1: He figured out a way to get Democrats screaming and
- 2:57Speaker 1: crazy and have them just bursting at the seams. But
- 3:01Speaker 1: it's technically legal. Oh, Barron Trump's doing fine. Barron is
- 3:06Speaker 1: going to school. He goes to NYU, but they have
- 3:09Speaker 1: a Washington, D.C. campus. That's where he goes. Although lately
- 3:13Speaker 1: he's been taking classes privately. Without going into too much detail,
- 3:21Speaker 1: you'll notice you have not seen anything of Barron Trump lately.
- 3:24Speaker 1: That's because of that horrifying Iranian threat. They've actually threatened
- 3:29Speaker 1: to assassinate Barron Trump, so that's why you don't hear
- 3:32Speaker 1: about him and you don't see him right now. Let's
- 3:35Speaker 1: go to Peter in Manhattan. Peter, how you doing?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Hey, what's up, Mark? Mark, I got a question for you.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Oh, this is the guy. He hates Trump, hates everything.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Hates Blakeman, hates all this stuff. Always angry about it.
- 3:47Speaker 2: What is Blakeman's What is Brakeman's position on illegal aliens?
- 3:51Speaker 2: I think it's a priority.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Oh, his position is follow the law. Stick to the law. No, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah, no,
- 3:57Speaker 1: that is his position. What is your position?
- 3:59Speaker 2: You've got to listen. Why is your system so bad,
- 4:03Speaker 2: your phone system so bad? Listen to me. When he says, well,
- 4:07Speaker 2: if they've.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Been here a long time. This is why you never, ever, ever, ever, ever,
- 4:11Speaker 1: ever argue with anybody.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Sir.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I just gave him the answer, but then nothing satisfies him.
- 4:16Speaker 1: They'll keep arguing. No, no, no, no. His position is
- 4:19Speaker 1: follow the law.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Mock, mock, mock.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Mock, mock, mock. See, this is what they do. His
- 4:24Speaker 1: position is stick to the law. Whatever the law says,
- 4:26Speaker 1: enforce it. That's his position.
- 4:28Speaker 2: You hope it is. You hope it is. Okay.
- 4:32Speaker 1: And I bet you this guy's a really nice guy,
- 4:34Speaker 1: this Peter. You can tell from his voice. He's like
- 4:36Speaker 1: a nice, fun, warm guy. As soon as they get
- 4:38Speaker 1: into politics, you can't tell them anything. Don't even try
- 4:42Speaker 1: to convince. You're not going to convince anybody of anything.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Blakeman's actual position is enforce the law. If you tell
- 4:51Speaker 1: them that, it just makes them madder. Don't argue with them.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Let's go to Blauvelt in Florida. Blauvelt, how are you doing?
- 4:59Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark Simone.
- 5:00Speaker 1: How are you?
- 5:02Speaker 2: Good. If Blakeman is following the law, if he proved it, because...
- 5:07Speaker 2: He put up all the jail cells for ICE. That's
- 5:10Speaker 2: right there, black and white. And I have a question
- 5:12Speaker 2: for you.
- 5:13Speaker 1: He didn't actually put up jail cells. When ICE comes
- 5:15Speaker 1: to town and they've got to arrest illegals who are
- 5:17Speaker 1: committing crimes, they do need help. You know, the local
- 5:20Speaker 1: law enforcement should help them. And Blakeman gave them locals
- 5:24Speaker 1: to help. And he let them use a wing of
- 5:27Speaker 1: a jail in case, you know, you've got to have
- 5:29Speaker 1: a place to hold your prisoners.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I have one question for you, Mark. What's your
- 5:33Speaker 2: TV schedule this week?
- 5:36Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. Actually, these TV shows,
- 5:41Speaker 1: they kind of book day-to-day. They don't schedule. Sometimes they'll do,
- 5:45Speaker 1: but most of the time it's day-to-day.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Are you on cut mode this week?
- 5:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm on every week, but it's day-to-day. I haven't heard.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I shouldn't say this. Let me look. Nope, didn't hear
- 5:57Speaker 1: from today.
- 5:57Speaker 2: It's like an encore. It's an encore process.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Well, you can't book a TV show too far in
- 6:04Speaker 1: advance because you don't know what the topics are going
- 6:06Speaker 1: to be. Let's say it's a war breaks out somewhere. Well,
- 6:10Speaker 1: it's going to be all generals and military types. And
- 6:12Speaker 1: let's say it's a big financial that's going to be
- 6:14Speaker 1: treasuries types, economists. But, yeah, it'll be one day this week.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Let's go to Ralph in Manhattan. Ralph, how are you doing?
- 6:23Speaker 2: What kind of fair shake, Mark, are these guys from
- 6:26Speaker 2: Cornell going to get? They're probably creeps. I mean, I
- 6:29Speaker 2: can assure you they're creeps. But when they use this thing, Mark,
- 6:33Speaker 2: as a political football, which they're doing in spades, man,
- 6:36Speaker 2: you're going to see these guys go down in flames,
- 6:38Speaker 2: not get a fair trial. I mean, I thought it
- 6:42Speaker 2: was supposed to be a semblance of fairness. But as
- 6:45Speaker 2: you see, it's not.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Really going to end up that way, Mark. I think
- 6:49Speaker 1: they're guilty. That's just my gut instinct. Yeah. They got
- 6:52Speaker 1: some things in their favor. One is the victim has
- 6:55Speaker 1: changed her story multiple times. Also, Letitia James, not having
- 7:00Speaker 1: any experience as a prosecutor, she's never prosecuted a criminal
- 7:02Speaker 1: case in her life, shot her mouth off and prejudged
- 7:05Speaker 1: the case. They can use all this stuff. What they'll
- 7:07Speaker 1: do with Hochul and James saying all these things, they'll
- 7:11Speaker 1: get it moved out of state. They'll get the case
- 7:12Speaker 1: moved to another venue. Absolutely.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah, and how about that Duke situation when you found
- 7:19Speaker 2: out years afterwards, it took years to find out that
- 7:22Speaker 2: it was an absolute hoax. There was no truth to
- 7:24Speaker 2: it whatsoever. That was shocking to me when I found
- 7:27Speaker 2: out there was no truth to it. I thought it
- 7:30Speaker 2: was somewhere in between, but it wasn't that way.
- 7:32Speaker 1: No, and that's a good thing to bear in mind.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Good point, Ralph. The Duke lacrosse case, it was exactly
- 7:39Speaker 1: the same stuff. And it turned out it was not
- 7:42Speaker 1: just misleading. It was totally, completely false. My gut instinct
- 7:48Speaker 1: is this woman's not lying totally, but we'll see. Just
- 7:52Speaker 1: remember the Duke LaCrosse case 20 years ago turned out
- 7:54Speaker 1: to be a total hoax. But we'll see where this goes.
- 7:58Speaker 1: We'll talk more about the Cornell case. And again, that
- 8:03Speaker 1: fraternity house, that is the ugliest building I have ever seen.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Stop showing that picture. It looks hideous, that building. In fact,
- 8:10Speaker 1: tear it down or put a new front on that building. Hey,
- 8:14Speaker 1: the Pieta tear tax, you know, there's a big lawsuit.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Randy Mastro's running it. They're trying to block the Pieta
- 8:20Speaker 1: tear tax. And they won a couple of rounds with
- 8:23Speaker 1: the judge saying the rollout was bad. It wasn't done correctly.
- 8:27Speaker 1: And so it didn't kill the Pieta tear tax. It
- 8:31Speaker 1: just said they have to redo the whole thing. Well,
- 8:33Speaker 1: there's another lawsuit that is so brilliant. I think this
- 8:38Speaker 1: one is going to stop the Pierre de Terre text.
- 8:40Speaker 1: We'll explain it to you coming up in the next hour.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I think the answer to this, it's brilliant. And then
- 8:46Speaker 1: we got that and a lot more to get to
- 8:48Speaker 1: coming up. It's Mark Simone here every weekday now, 9
- 8:52Speaker 1: to noon, three hours every day, 9 to noon. Then
- 8:54Speaker 1: at noon, you got Buck and Clay. They do a
- 8:57Speaker 1: really good show every day. 3 o'clock, you got the
- 8:59Speaker 1: most listened to radio show in America. Sean Hannity, you
- 9:02Speaker 1: got Jesse Kelly, 6 o'clock. The very funny Jimmy Fallon,
- 9:06Speaker 1: every night at 9 o'clock. here on 710WOR.
