- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back, everybody to another episode of Stay Out of
- 0:05Speaker 1: My Fridge the podcast. We're a dad and his girls
- 0:09Speaker 1: and sometimes the wife. We have conversations and more importantly,
- 0:12Speaker 1: we try to find some ways to keep them out
- 0:14Speaker 1: of the fridge because well, every parent out there knows
- 0:17Speaker 1: that groceries are cheap. You might be wondering who is
- 0:21Speaker 1: joining me today? Is it going to be Isla? Is
- 0:23Speaker 1: going to be Avery? Is going to be both of them?
- 0:24Speaker 1: It's going to be Meg. Is it going to be
- 0:26Speaker 1: Sissy making her Stay Out of My Fridge debut? One
- 0:29Speaker 1: of them is here? Who is here today? Who's here?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Who's here? Island in the house? And on today's episode,
- 0:38Speaker 1: we are going to talk about Isla's first basketball game.
- 0:42Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about I think it's our first college
- 0:44Speaker 1: soccer game. We're going to talk about dinner at a
- 0:46Speaker 1: new restaurant. We're going to talk about hanging out with
- 0:48Speaker 1: our cousins, the leaves are changing, and at the end
- 0:51Speaker 1: of it, we're going to do these trivia What do
- 0:54Speaker 1: you think about that? Kid?
- 0:55Speaker 2: I'm so tight for the trivia game.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You're not excited for anything else in the count of
- 1:01Speaker 1: what that's that? What's that? This is a fine delicious
- 1:07Speaker 1: Judica Club. This is the first beer that came after prohibition.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Do you know what prohibition is? No, you have no
- 1:16Speaker 1: idea that nobody has taught you history what prohibition was.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So Prohibition was a time in American history where it
- 1:24Speaker 1: was illegal to have, make or anything consume alcohol beverages.
- 1:32Speaker 1: They banned it in America and they were like, you
- 1:34Speaker 1: will not have it. But you know it's crazy what
- 1:38Speaker 1: it wasn't illegal in Canada. Are we very are we
- 1:41Speaker 1: very close to Canada? So do you know what this
- 1:44Speaker 1: area became? This area became have you ever heard the
- 1:47Speaker 1: term smuggler? No, so a smuggler. They took it and
- 1:51Speaker 1: they smuggled or they illegally brought over stuff from Canada
- 1:57Speaker 1: over our river, the Saint Lawrence River, So like jar
- 2:01Speaker 1: they would put them in barrels and they would do
- 2:03Speaker 1: all that, so they would bring it over from Canada.
- 2:06Speaker 1: So this entire area Ogdensburg, Lisbon, Waddington, Morristown, all all
- 2:12Speaker 1: the river towns in our area. They made a lot
- 2:17Speaker 1: smuggling alcohol during Prohibition. And this is actually made in Utica,
- 2:23Speaker 1: New York, which was very close to where we played
- 2:25Speaker 1: some softball tournaments.
- 2:26Speaker 2: So what you're trying to get at is that to adults,
- 2:31Speaker 2: Canada is awesome.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I think I think personally Canada is awesome to anybody.
- 2:38Speaker 1: They're a whole different country. Yes, but they have live
- 2:42Speaker 1: they have big live music bands and all this stuff.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'm going to bring you to a concert and you're
- 2:46Speaker 1: gonna be like, dude, I love Canada. You know what
- 2:49Speaker 1: is a Canadian food? You know what Avery does for reviews?
- 2:55Speaker 1: Do you know where that's a Canadian dish? Canon? What
- 3:00Speaker 1: are we talking about the War of eighteen? But yeah,
- 3:08Speaker 1: a little bit of a history lesson. Do you like history?
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yes?
- 3:12Speaker 1: I do? Yeah, that's your favorite part about history. Did
- 3:15Speaker 1: you know that your grandfather taught history so you usually Yeah?
- 3:20Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Awesome. So how have things been? Things been pretty good?
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you've been staying out of my fridge?
- 3:27Speaker 2: No, No, I had to make lunch for school and.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Stuff, and you had to get into the fridge to
- 3:33Speaker 1: feed your salamanders.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
- 3:35Speaker 1: That's where you keep the worms in there. I make
- 3:38Speaker 1: smoothies every morning and have to What if I accidentally
- 3:41Speaker 1: put the worms in my smoothie and I wouldn't even know?
- 3:44Speaker 1: Would just be extra protein, right.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Oh technically technically not technically yeah, it'll be nasty. But
- 3:52Speaker 2: you but you're not drink at all. You would be
- 3:54Speaker 2: like take one seven year like, this is that good?
- 3:58Speaker 2: Because did you just burp?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you just burp rain in the mic. Yeah, probably
- 4:03Speaker 1: smells like tacos. Well, listen, I tell you what. I'd
- 4:06Speaker 1: rather probably eat the worms and have that taste than
- 4:10Speaker 1: our new softened water.
- 4:13Speaker 3: What I was just about to say, yeah, okay, that
- 4:16Speaker 3: you you you should know when the the warms were
- 4:22Speaker 3: in your smoothe because you took one sip of the water.
- 4:26Speaker 2: This is nasic.
- 4:28Speaker 1: It is. I don't like it.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It's not that bad.
- 4:30Speaker 1: In my defense, I think the like you, Fina. I
- 4:35Speaker 1: was just gonna say, in my defense, for the last
- 4:38Speaker 1: fifteen years that I've lived in this house, the water
- 4:41Speaker 1: has tasted wonderful, so good rate from the ground, delicious
- 4:47Speaker 1: well water. And now that it's softened, it just tastes different.
- 4:51Speaker 1: What have you noticed it in the shower, in the
- 4:53Speaker 1: bath and everything, like, Yeah, I was gonna say, your
- 4:55Speaker 1: hair is looking good.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I was gonna say, when I take a shower, it
- 5:00Speaker 2: makes it made my hair a lot softer than it
- 5:03Speaker 2: usually does because all day I've I'm like, like, if
- 5:05Speaker 2: my hair's like snarlet unders go like maybe two times
- 5:10Speaker 2: right now, like put my fingers through my hair. I
- 5:13Speaker 2: have to be more specific because I don't have a
- 5:16Speaker 2: picture or anything.
- 5:17Speaker 1: You really want your own camera, don't you?
- 5:19Speaker 2: I do?
- 5:20Speaker 1: How many likes will this video get on YouTube only?
- 5:25Speaker 1: The Beard Laws YouTube that you think your mom would
- 5:29Speaker 1: be cool for having, you would care? How many views
- 5:32Speaker 1: do you think it's fair for you to be on
- 5:34Speaker 1: camera next week? No, that's not fair.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yes it is, but we're going to get way more.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Than one anyways, what do you think legit? How about fifty? No,
- 5:44Speaker 1: we're gonna get No, I'm gonna say, I don't know
- 5:47Speaker 1: how if this video gets five thousand, not Spotify Jesse,
- 5:53Speaker 1: so YouTube and is Love will be on camera next episode?
- 5:58Speaker 2: Please like, please, please please? I want to show you
- 6:01Speaker 2: guys my real face because it's sounds cute.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah, well, there goes. Now we're going to have five views,
- 6:11Speaker 1: just kidding.
- 6:11Speaker 2: That was all right?
- 6:14Speaker 1: So the goal is out there five thousand? All right, listen,
- 6:18Speaker 1: there's something I really want to talk about. Are you ready?
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yep?
- 6:22Speaker 1: You got your first basketball game yesterday buddy, I did.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You're very first. So for anybody that knows in the
- 6:29Speaker 1: area that we are, we do fall Ball Fall Basketball,
- 6:32Speaker 1: where the youth group four through sixth grade participates in
- 6:37Speaker 1: a traveling basketball league with the intentions of developing skills,
- 6:42Speaker 1: having fun, and just learning to love and just really
- 6:46Speaker 1: fall ball, fall in love with the game of basketball.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Right. That was a good one, thank you.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And the goal obviously is to do all of this,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and I like gets to participate in it, being a
- 7:00Speaker 1: fourth grader now. And I'm a little bit bummed because
- 7:04Speaker 1: I coach as well in a different school district, so
- 7:08Speaker 1: I don't get to see all of her games, and
- 7:10Speaker 1: I missed her very first away game.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I was upset and I was I'm pretty sure at
- 7:16Speaker 2: one point I was crying a little bit because I
- 7:18Speaker 2: was sad.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but you it's not like in my defense that
- 7:23Speaker 1: I just did. I was just like, I'm not gonna
- 7:25Speaker 1: go watch your game. Right. We had a game in
- 7:27Speaker 1: a different school district, happened to be the farthest game away,
- 7:32Speaker 1: and Sissy had a soccer game, so there was a
- 7:34Speaker 1: lot going on. But I get to see your first home.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Game, and it's gonna be too much.
- 7:41Speaker 1: And it's gonna be at the time of the world.
- 7:42Speaker 1: It's gonna be today when this episode is released. I'm
- 7:44Speaker 1: gonna I'm gonna go there tomorrow. Yes, so I'm gonna
- 7:47Speaker 1: be able to watch your first time game. You'll be
- 7:49Speaker 1: on the core. And I mean just kind of tell me.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I want to hear your perspective, which is your conversation piece.
- 7:56Speaker 1: You're how you kind of viewed your first game from
- 8:01Speaker 1: was their nerves? What was your favorite part? What was
- 8:04Speaker 1: your worst part? What was the funniest part. I just
- 8:06Speaker 1: want you to talk about your very first game.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I was pretty upset because that day I was playing
- 8:14Speaker 2: kickball and one of my friends spun me around and
- 8:17Speaker 2: let go, and I hurt my ankle really bad. So
- 8:20Speaker 2: I was limping the whole time. I knew I didn't
- 8:23Speaker 2: do one hundred percent, but it hurt. It would have
- 8:25Speaker 2: hurt so bad if I did one hundred.
- 8:27Speaker 1: How's the ankle today? This seems better? A little tight?
- 8:30Speaker 1: And what did I tell you? When you play sports,
- 8:33Speaker 1: some you just ach all the time? Kickball got you?
- 8:38Speaker 1: Did you learn that maybe you don't spin? So why
- 8:41Speaker 1: were you spinning around in kickball? I feel like that's
- 8:43Speaker 1: not nor.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I told my friend to please stop, and they just
- 8:46Speaker 2: didn't stop. So I did ask them to please stop,
- 8:50Speaker 2: and they just didn't, which is fine. And I feel
- 8:53Speaker 2: a little better today, so good. I hopefully I'm all
- 8:56Speaker 2: healed up by tomorrow.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Do maybe do a nice bath?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yeah? I think the ice bath.
- 9:01Speaker 1: An ice bath when we get done with this with
- 9:03Speaker 1: the recording. The only kid that's tough enough to do
- 9:05Speaker 1: an ice bath, I.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Can do it for like I did like two minutes.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Okay, other than nerves and kickball injuries. So you're going
- 9:16Speaker 1: tell me more about it. I mean, you're you're at
- 9:18Speaker 1: your school, you're ready to go. No, you traveled, you
- 9:21Speaker 1: had to get on the bus, right, So tell me
- 9:23Speaker 1: about that.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It was pretty fun and I got to see with
- 9:26Speaker 2: my best friend and she was just cracking jokes the
- 9:30Speaker 2: whole time.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Was the best joke you have one?
- 9:34Speaker 2: Yeah? She said, h my name is Gerald, who want
- 9:37Speaker 2: to be my friend? And then she like, you know
- 9:40Speaker 2: when people like like.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Quickly go like what is that? I remember, people are right,
- 9:47Speaker 1: they don't see.
- 9:47Speaker 2: It like yeah like that, but they don't actually hate you,
- 9:51Speaker 2: so it's like it's going to she goes, yeah, she goes, Hi,
- 9:54Speaker 2: my name's Gerald one by my friend. I said, yeah, sure,
- 9:57Speaker 2: and she goes work. It was funny.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I don't get the joke.
- 10:02Speaker 2: She's just cracking jokes the whole time. She said. In Audrey,
- 10:07Speaker 2: one of my best friends was dub other side, and
- 10:10Speaker 2: she was like, Nora brings her favorite snack and she
- 10:14Speaker 2: loved them too, So she was sitting there going.
- 10:16Speaker 1: What was the favorite snack.
- 10:18Speaker 2: It was like, I think they were like little goldfish,
- 10:21Speaker 2: but they had like sour cream and onions stuff.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Oh the boys aren't gonna like that breath though, are they.
- 10:27Speaker 2: No, Audrey and Noah's like, one, you only.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Gave one one goldfish, that's it.
- 10:33Speaker 2: And she goes and then she gives her like a handful.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Ah. Nice. So bus trip was fun and you really
- 10:39Speaker 1: enjoyed that, all right. So then you get off, you
- 10:42Speaker 1: get to the school and we're all like, were you
- 10:44Speaker 1: guys nervous?
- 10:45Speaker 2: We were all happy and Raina's like sorry. One of
- 10:49Speaker 2: my other friends was just like, I'm so nervous. I'm
- 10:53Speaker 2: so nervous.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I'm so nervous, which is okay to be nervous. It's
- 10:55Speaker 1: it's the first experience for you all, very first time
- 10:59Speaker 1: you have played a game of basketball, right, So do
- 11:03Speaker 1: you have to go into the locker room and change
- 11:05Speaker 1: or we already changed.
- 11:06Speaker 2: We changed at our school, gotcha.
- 11:08Speaker 1: So you just get off the bus, put on the shoes,
- 11:11Speaker 1: get on the court, ready to go?
- 11:12Speaker 2: Right, yeah?
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah? And so you're there, You're on the court, you're
- 11:18Speaker 1: warming up. As soon as you get on the court
- 11:20Speaker 1: warm ups, you're still nervous or are you ready to go?
- 11:23Speaker 2: I'm ready to go.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And on a little bit of a sore ankle. All right,
- 11:29Speaker 1: tip off happens, still super excited, and then the game
- 11:34Speaker 1: just happens. Right. Tell us about it. What were some
- 11:37Speaker 1: of the highlights? What were some of your favorite parts
- 11:39Speaker 1: of the game.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I thought it was funny because all of our girls were,
- 11:43Speaker 2: like our girls were really short and it so one
- 11:51Speaker 2: of my best friends is really it's kind of like
- 11:57Speaker 2: a little taller than I am. She goes and there
- 12:02Speaker 2: was a girl and she was probably to your shoulder.
- 12:06Speaker 2: She was really tall. And she played in the next
- 12:09Speaker 2: group too, so I don't know if she was portably
- 12:12Speaker 2: long those but it's okay. And she was she was
- 12:16Speaker 2: so tall that she just went and like didn't even
- 12:18Speaker 2: lift up her arm all the way. She just went
- 12:20Speaker 2: and just shot and she made every shot.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Wow. Good for her.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I bet you she could do swim dunks.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Probably puts the time and that's good. I mean, you know,
- 12:27Speaker 1: like I said at the end of the day, and
- 12:28Speaker 1: this is my opinion, not that I've put out a
- 12:30Speaker 1: coaching book or anything, but Amazon, what's it called. Not
- 12:35Speaker 1: every kid goes pro?
- 12:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah, not every kid goes pro?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Have you read it yet?
- 12:40Speaker 2: Yes, a few of it, a little bit of it.
- 12:42Speaker 1: But in my opinion, it doesn't matter. The scoreboard doesn't matter.
- 12:46Speaker 1: And that's what I tell the kids that I coach too.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I don't care. You guys can look at the scoreboard,
- 12:49Speaker 1: your parents can look at the scoreboard. It doesn't matter.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Or there's no standings, there's no playoffs. You're there to
- 12:55Speaker 1: get better and improvement. I'm gonna tell you the team
- 12:57Speaker 1: that I coached, it's your age group. And they were
- 12:59Speaker 1: all very your players, fourth grade two fifth graders I think.
- 13:03Speaker 1: And they were all your size, which is gonna be
- 13:05Speaker 1: so much fun to play against. And at the beginning
- 13:08Speaker 1: it was pure chaos. It was crazy. But by the
- 13:12Speaker 1: end of the game, they started to run our plays,
- 13:14Speaker 1: they started to play defense like it was so good
- 13:19Speaker 1: to see how much they improved just in four quarters,
- 13:21Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought that we did pretty good on the
- 13:26Speaker 2: second period. Of first period was little rocky. But one
- 13:29Speaker 2: thing that I noticed, if my friends are watching this,
- 13:32Speaker 2: is just a little tip if you are like just
- 13:37Speaker 2: doing like we'll say what if? Because I called out
- 13:42Speaker 2: a number and I said I'm gonna do this number.
- 13:47Speaker 1: And liked them, Yeah, because.
- 13:50Speaker 2: We have to call out our numbers, so confused and
- 13:53Speaker 2: one of my friends said, no, I called this girl,
- 13:56Speaker 2: but she didn't. It's because she called a different number
- 13:59Speaker 2: and then odd.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And then she yeah. My other friend, well that's why
- 14:05Speaker 1: you communicate and you say, all right, well you got her,
- 14:07Speaker 1: then fine, I'll go take that girl.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I know.
- 14:09Speaker 2: But I was like, we only had like one girl
- 14:12Speaker 2: open and she was in the corner behind all the girls,
- 14:15Speaker 2: so I couldn't see her.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Gotcha. And everybody learned from it, right, mm hmm? I
- 14:20Speaker 1: like it. I like it. So what are you looking
- 14:22Speaker 1: forward to most of your next game?
- 14:24Speaker 2: I think mostly and I'm going to run faster, better defense,
- 14:30Speaker 2: and there's the three men weave and I hope that
- 14:36Speaker 2: we do that because we're really good at it my team.
- 14:39Speaker 1: You mean in warm ups or you don't do that
- 14:41Speaker 1: in the actual game. Yeah, you're doing the game or
- 14:44Speaker 1: warm ups? Okay, cool, Yeah that'd be fun.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I think we are also we also I thought a
- 14:53Speaker 2: really really really doing our Like I'm trying to think people,
- 15:00Speaker 2: you know what I.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Mean, Like, I don't know the screens we dribble and
- 15:04Speaker 1: we go because they don't know.
- 15:07Speaker 2: What that means.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Everybody knows what the fist means. It's a screen. It's universal. Sorry, No,
- 15:12Speaker 1: you don't have to be sorry.
- 15:13Speaker 2: That's just I didn't know that.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Everybody does. I coach against you. I don't know what
- 15:19Speaker 1: that means.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Our girls are like the other girls are like, what
- 15:25Speaker 2: is she doing? Maybe their coach didn't teach it to them.
- 15:29Speaker 2: What is she doing? So she one of my friends
- 15:32Speaker 2: goes up and does a screen, and then my other
- 15:36Speaker 2: friend like it's their job to push the girl into them.
- 15:40Speaker 2: So you go like a little bit of far away
- 15:42Speaker 2: from like a little bit of a group gap, and
- 15:46Speaker 2: then it's the other person's job that to run them
- 15:50Speaker 2: into the screen, and then they can't turn, so like
- 15:54Speaker 2: it's like and then once you you your teammates up there,
- 15:58Speaker 2: you're gonna sprint over to the basket and ketchtaball.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I like it? All right, Well, I look forward to
- 16:05Speaker 1: watching you play some basketball. I'm so proud of you,
- 16:08Speaker 1: and I think you should be proud of yourself.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I am.
- 16:11Speaker 1: All right. Let's let's mix it up a little bit.
- 16:13Speaker 1: We checked out a restaurant for the very first time.
- 16:16Speaker 1: It's called eleven West. We went to Sissy's soccer game
- 16:19Speaker 1: in Parishville Boo, and what do you think of Parishville Boom?
- 16:26Speaker 1: Then we went Kent and pass Maria to eleven West.
- 16:30Speaker 1: What do you think of the restaurant, Bud?
- 16:32Speaker 2: I thought it was. They had pretty good foods. Their
- 16:35Speaker 2: bathrooms were so nice.
- 16:38Speaker 1: What did you love about the bathrooms?
- 16:40Speaker 2: They were just so pretty.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Describe it to somebody, how do you describe a pretty bathroom?
- 16:46Speaker 2: Because it had like lights and they were like set
- 16:50Speaker 2: to like an orange vibe, kind of like oranges white.
- 16:56Speaker 2: It was. The sink was really nice. It was like elevated.
- 17:00Speaker 2: It was pretty. You know when there's like little black
- 17:04Speaker 2: like cracks in it and it makes it look really pretty.
- 17:07Speaker 2: And then there's also like a horseshoe not a horseshoe
- 17:13Speaker 2: cowboy boot and had a bunch of flowers in it,
- 17:18Speaker 2: and they were just like springing out, like oh, and I.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Do you remember what the sign said?
- 17:27Speaker 2: I hope your days as night. It says your butt.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Both bathrooms and you know how there's usually like stalls
- 17:37Speaker 2: in the door on the bottom it's open. Well, these
- 17:40Speaker 2: bathrooms it's like you can turn on your light.
- 17:43Speaker 1: You can turn it off in the stall and the.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Door is like wooden. It's very nice and it opens
- 17:51Speaker 2: and then you can shut it and lock it and
- 17:53Speaker 2: nobody can get it.
- 17:55Speaker 1: See, boys rooms are different. So that's but is it.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Not the same?
- 17:59Speaker 1: No?
- 18:00Speaker 2: What's dolls?
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'll tell you. I'll tell you about it when you're older.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I hate when I'll tell you the man when you're older.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Have you because when I was like I think at
- 18:12Speaker 2: least three, you said something like i'll tell you when
- 18:15Speaker 2: you're older, and I was like, I'm going to learn
- 18:17Speaker 2: when i'm older, and I was like waiting for the day,
- 18:20Speaker 2: and then you.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Never told me, Well, the day's not here yet, you're
- 18:22Speaker 1: not quite older.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Do you even remember what the question was?
- 18:25Speaker 1: Do you remember?
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, what I asked? If if there was uh oh, yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 2: I was I did ask this. I swear I asked
- 18:38Speaker 2: if there was some types of food left. I said,
- 18:41Speaker 2: tell you when you're older.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I'll tell you when you're older. I speaking of food, though,
- 18:44Speaker 1: why don't you tell everybody what you got to eat?
- 18:46Speaker 1: At eleven West?
- 18:48Speaker 2: A kid's meal was fries and chicken tenders.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you what it was, five big
- 18:55Speaker 1: chicken tenders, a mountain of French fries tender. Probably the
- 19:01Speaker 1: best buy in the menu in my opinion, and I'm
- 19:04Speaker 1: not gonna lie to you, probably the best kids menu
- 19:06Speaker 1: option that I've seen in the North Country, like fantastic.
- 19:10Speaker 2: There was a little thing next to it that was crashed,
- 19:15Speaker 2: but it wasn't in piece it so it was still
- 19:17Speaker 2: on the spot and I said, what is that? And
- 19:19Speaker 2: it was a circus thing?
- 19:22Speaker 1: Oh the train. There was like a caboose or an
- 19:24Speaker 1: engine or something for a circus. Matt, you said, yeah,
- 19:28Speaker 1: check out the episode of the Your Time podcast. There
- 19:30Speaker 1: was a train crash in Potsdam many many many many
- 19:33Speaker 1: years ago and it was kind of like a like
- 19:36Speaker 1: a memorabilia type thing that they left in this area.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Pretty cool. Pretty not a cool situation, but history wise,
- 19:44Speaker 1: it's pretty interesting. So describe. I guess how was the service.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Did you like the waitress? She was pretty cool. We
- 19:52Speaker 1: were playing I Spy and she jumped right in. Had
- 19:54Speaker 1: some guesses. Atmosphere pretty good, right, what is thought?
- 20:00Speaker 2: We got our food pretty quickly?
- 20:01Speaker 1: Oh, we we did, for sure. Yeah, no, it was
- 20:06Speaker 1: it was. It was really good. I thought we all
- 20:07Speaker 1: had a pretty good There were some people that were
- 20:09Speaker 1: getting a little bit angry. But and uh yeah, when
- 20:14Speaker 1: when Avery jumps back on a podcast, we'll let her
- 20:17Speaker 1: do the protein review. We started keeping a list so
- 20:21Speaker 1: she can continue to do that. I thought it was
- 20:22Speaker 1: a really good place. I look forward to going back
- 20:25Speaker 1: there and enjoying it. I really did enjoy it.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Guess what Avery said in the car?
- 20:30Speaker 1: What did she say in the car?
- 20:31Speaker 2: Is there's still like animals like monkeys in there, like
- 20:35Speaker 2: the remains of them. Probably is there probably is remains
- 20:41Speaker 2: of them, and like things that we don't have anymore.
- 20:43Speaker 2: And I said, just studio around. I said, what if
- 20:47Speaker 2: you open it up and there's dinosaurs inside? That would
- 20:50Speaker 2: be funny.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Wild and then we could be like you know that.
- 20:53Speaker 2: The people who got like a big award because they
- 20:56Speaker 2: brought back dinosaurs because we took their skeletons over.
- 21:00Speaker 1: So you think that there was dinosaurs alive when trains
- 21:04Speaker 1: were alive.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I was just talking around.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Well I didn't know. I thought maybe because I mean,
- 21:09Speaker 1: tell me if I'm wrong. At one point, you thought
- 21:11Speaker 1: that when I grew up there was a color. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 1: we saw everything in black and white? Is that true?
- 21:17Speaker 1: You know? So you're trying to tell me that you
- 21:19Speaker 1: think dinosaurs are still alive, Well, trains were running, right,
- 21:23Speaker 1: is this? Is this what we're talking about? Technically there
- 21:26Speaker 1: are still some dinosaurs alive. I mean alligators and crocodiles
- 21:31Speaker 1: and stuff like that, but that really, yeah, they are.
- 21:33Speaker 1: They were around the same time they were living when
- 21:35Speaker 1: dinosaurs were around dellyfeser dinosaurs, and they just figured out
- 21:38Speaker 1: how to survive. Except for dinosaurs will later.
- 21:41Speaker 2: There is a science thing that I saw and they
- 21:44Speaker 2: opened a cave or something like. There was a rock
- 21:47Speaker 2: in front of it and they like pushed it over,
- 21:50Speaker 2: and apparently there was a bunch of wooly mammoths like bodies,
- 21:53Speaker 2: and do.
- 21:54Speaker 1: You know what a wooly mammoth is?
- 21:56Speaker 2: It's like a giant. It's kind of like an eleph
- 22:00Speaker 2: How do I explain it? And it has like little
- 22:02Speaker 2: tusks and it has brown hair all over. I mean,
- 22:06Speaker 2: I think pretty big.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Yeah, they're pretty big. Did you know that there's a
- 22:09Speaker 1: place remember when they brought back the dire Wolves. Yes,
- 22:12Speaker 1: the same place is going to bring back the wooly Mammos.
- 22:14Speaker 1: That's what he's obsessed with. Wooly mammos. Loves them. Who
- 22:18Speaker 1: the person that is in charge of the whole Not
- 22:22Speaker 1: somebody I know.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I'm mixed, like, I'm like, I must have missed a name.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Let's go with Johan. All right, listen, we're running out
- 22:32Speaker 1: of time. I feel like we got to jump into
- 22:33Speaker 1: nineties trivia. Hit us with the nineties trivia intro song.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Ready go, We're.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Going like nineties trens. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah.
- 22:43Speaker 1: All right? That was good? All right this. Have you
- 22:45Speaker 1: ever heard of the show Legends of the Hidden Temple?
- 22:49Speaker 2: No, I haven't. I've heard of it, but I've never watched.
- 22:52Speaker 1: All right, so I'm going to hit you with this one. Anyways,
- 22:54Speaker 1: Legends of the Hidden Temple there was six different teams.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Each of the teams had a color and then a mascot,
- 23:03Speaker 1: so for example, it could be gold, turkey. All right,
- 23:07Speaker 1: so I want you to see if you can guess
- 23:09Speaker 1: the six colors of the teams, and then I'll give
- 23:13Speaker 1: you the mascot blue blue, correct blue Barrakudahs. That's one, Red,
- 23:20Speaker 1: red jaguires that's two. What else you got?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Green?
- 23:24Speaker 1: The green monkeys number three, Purple, the purple parrots four
- 23:30Speaker 1: out of six, Pink, orange, the orange iguanas. You have
- 23:36Speaker 1: one color left. This is a tricky one. This is
- 23:39Speaker 1: a tricky color. It's not a normal color. It will
- 23:42Speaker 1: not be featured on any rainbows. But you might get
- 23:48Speaker 1: a metal if you take second place.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Black.
- 23:52Speaker 1: If you take second place, are you're gonna get a
- 23:53Speaker 1: black metal?
- 23:54Speaker 2: No? Silver?
- 23:55Speaker 1: The silver snakes. Those were the six.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I actually guess those pretty quickly. Yeah for not knowing
- 24:03Speaker 2: what they are.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Sometimes I just loo, I want to I want to
- 24:07Speaker 1: show you an episode of Legend of the Hitten Temple.
- 24:09Speaker 1: You will love it.
- 24:10Speaker 2: I looked at that, and I'm like, well.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Done, all right. There was an iconic character who had
- 24:18Speaker 1: a catchphrase, which is a line, which is a saying
- 24:23Speaker 1: that they would say all the time, and it said
- 24:25Speaker 1: did I do that? Who said it?
- 24:30Speaker 2: Arnie?
- 24:31Speaker 3: No?
- 24:31Speaker 1: You think a purple dinosaur? Hey? Did I do that?
- 24:35Speaker 1: He was clumsy, He wore suspenders, big glasses. Arnold Hey, Arnold, Hey, I'm.
- 24:41Speaker 2: So confused on what this could be.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Do you give up a character? His name was Erkele,
- 24:49Speaker 1: Steve Erkele. You've never heard of Steve Rkele. No, what
- 24:57Speaker 1: are you thinking? Uncle Steve? Hey, I'm gonna show you
- 25:01Speaker 1: a picture of Steve Verkle.
- 25:04Speaker 2: I want to pop in my brain, as you said,
- 25:06Speaker 2: like peenish age kind of kid.
- 25:09Speaker 1: He goes, ned, I do that, dear big bababy. Okay,
- 25:16Speaker 1: all right, let's go with Do you happen to know
- 25:20Speaker 1: what the first Disney Channel original movie was?
- 25:25Speaker 2: What?
- 25:25Speaker 1: Oh? No, Disney Channel, not Disney.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Movie, Disney Channel.
- 25:30Speaker 1: So Disney Channel was a channel in the nineties, and
- 25:32Speaker 1: I think it's still around. It's just a channel owned
- 25:34Speaker 1: by Disney and they showed things and they made it
- 25:37Speaker 1: like so, have you ever seen like Netflix original movies? Yeah,
- 25:40Speaker 1: this was a Disney Channel original movie. It came out
- 25:45Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety seven.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Is this the year you were born?
- 25:49Speaker 1: No, I wish I was born twelve years before this.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I was twelve. I was in the prime nineties. Kid.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Oh, I've forgot that you were born when dinosaurs were
- 25:59Speaker 2: a lot Uh yeah, like, you have things we don't have.
- 26:07Speaker 2: I have a nice berm if you're like a kid,
- 26:09Speaker 2: and they say that's because of that pound. Well they say, well,
- 26:14Speaker 2: growing up, we don't. We don't have phones like that.
- 26:18Speaker 2: And then the kid goes, you have things we don't
- 26:23Speaker 2: have and she goes, yeah, like what with dinosaurs?
- 26:28Speaker 1: Ah? Wow, No, it eulse you that we had knowledge
- 26:35Speaker 1: of the nineties. The movie was called under Wraps.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Heard of that? That's why?
- 26:41Speaker 1: Yes, all right, Well, what is the name of the
- 26:48Speaker 1: youngest Backstreet Boy? Do you know the Backstreet Boys do
- 26:52Speaker 1: their names? You don't know their names? Well, who do
- 26:54Speaker 1: you think? I'm going to give you one guess. Who
- 26:56Speaker 1: do you think the youngest?
- 26:57Speaker 3: What?
- 26:59Speaker 2: Can you start the name with the letter? Can you
- 27:02Speaker 2: start the name of the letter?
- 27:04Speaker 1: Could?
- 27:05Speaker 2: Can you do that?
- 27:07Speaker 1: And his first name starts with an N? You know? No,
- 27:14Speaker 1: the youngest Backstreet Boy's name was Nick Carter.
- 27:17Speaker 2: He was gonna get nick after that.
- 27:20Speaker 1: All right, what have you ever heard of a game Boy?
- 27:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 27:25Speaker 1: What I have on What is the color of the
- 27:29Speaker 1: original game Boy? Silver gray? But I will accept silver.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I don't really know if it was silver gray, but
- 27:38Speaker 2: I that was quick though.
- 27:39Speaker 1: It was all right, So there was candy.
- 27:44Speaker 2: I know the original founder of nutendos, I just don't
- 27:48Speaker 2: know his name.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I know the original founders and person that started I
- 27:52Speaker 1: just actually don't know his name. All right, step right
- 27:55Speaker 1: up to that mic and let me ask you this one.
- 27:58Speaker 1: There was a I'm looking for the name or the
- 28:01Speaker 1: name brand of this. It was a candy that was
- 28:04Speaker 1: in a bottle, almost like a baby bottle, and it
- 28:08Speaker 1: had powder and it had as I.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Love the baby bottle pop I love those. My favorite
- 28:15Speaker 2: is blue raspberry. Those are so good. I love those.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I actually think I have one in the house somewhere
- 28:22Speaker 2: right now.
- 28:22Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna rapid fire. We got three left
- 28:24Speaker 1: to get out of here.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Yep.
- 28:26Speaker 1: The Chicago Bulls in the NBA beat which team in
- 28:30Speaker 1: nineteen ninety seven in the finals when Michael Jordan hit
- 28:33Speaker 1: the game winner. It was a little bit of a
- 28:36Speaker 1: push off, but made it. Who was the name of
- 28:40Speaker 1: the team that they beat? They wear purple jerseys, John Stockton,
- 28:44Speaker 1: caral Malone, which thankfully you weren't around, Carl Utah Jazz.
- 28:50Speaker 1: You're close, right, all right, so close. So back in
- 28:54Speaker 1: my day, we listened, we listened to CDs. See the
- 28:58Speaker 1: CDs over there. We listened to them in a handheld
- 29:02Speaker 1: CD player. What was the name of them, specifically by
- 29:07Speaker 1: the brand Sony CD players. Yes, that's what it is.

- 29:31Speaker 1: this is the last one? All right? There was a
- 29:33Speaker 1: famous line in a movie. All right, it's going to
- 29:37Speaker 1: be a fill in the blank. Life is like a
- 29:41Speaker 1: box of blank? What it goes? Where the blank is?
- 29:46Speaker 1: Life is like a box of canny chocolate.
- 29:51Speaker 2: I was pretty close.

- 30:09Speaker 2: had like a jersey.
- 30:11Speaker 1: No, that was.
- 30:14Speaker 2: I had so much.
- 30:17Speaker 1: So. Actually the very first time that your mom met
- 30:20Speaker 1: my family, my parents and Steve and Uncle Steve and
