Gio Lopez Takes the Helm at Wake | Wake Forest Football News
Wake Forest’s got a new QB in Gio Lopez, the former North Carolina starter who brings dual-threat firepower and playoff experience — 1700+ yards, 10 TDs, 5 INTs last year, plus 3 rushing scores. After standout seasons at South Alabama, he’s now leading the Demon Deacons’ charge to break past their .500 mark. Fans are buzzing about his rival-turned-hero status, and his debut against Akron on Sept 3 could set the tone for a season that hinges on how well he meshes with the Wake system.
