Transcript
- 0:51None. What's up everybody, it's TV.
- 0:58I am back once again with another ghostcoldman.com weekly
- 1:01ritual. Got to be honest, I was very
- 1:06tempted to cancel today. I'm sure we'll talk about the
- 1:10Ace Freely news and the passing of the Kiss legend.
- 1:14A whole piece of my childhood is gone.
- 1:17Did not expect this news. Been a very hard summer and fall
- 1:21with passings of people. And it is.
- 1:26It is a lot Skull bashers here. What's up buddy?
- 1:29And Jay Rubino, 13, and Christopher Cameron.
- 1:33We've both been watching ghost cult stuff is here.
- 1:39Yeah. I thought about canceling.
- 1:42Then I thought about just doing an ACE centric show and my
- 1:45partner advise me like, prepare better and do one tomorrow
- 1:49that's a little more thoughtful. I know the prevailing wisdom for
- 1:54all the live streamers is let me get this thing out quickly to
- 1:57take advantage of things. You know, I'll have some further
- 2:00comments about how my journalistic fellows have
- 2:04handled this entire situation. I can't say that I'm super
- 2:09thrilled about how it's all been handled, but yeah, we're here
- 2:16for the weekly show. Scooter is here.
- 2:18What's up, Scooter? I'm very sad, bro.
- 2:21I know you can dunk. People can dunk on KISS and and
- 2:25Ace was far from perfect. And I'll talk more about it
- 2:27tomorrow when I do a stand alone live streaming podcast about
- 2:32him. But yeah, man, thank you, Hugh,
- 2:38you know, just fucking sad. But we're here.
- 2:41I decided to Sally forth and do the show.
- 2:43It's a little late, but I'm. I'm doing it.
- 2:45I'm doing the damn thing. It's going to be a short one
- 2:48because I, you know, I may cry. You may see me cry.
- 2:51I don't do performative crying or crying on cue, but I may just
- 2:57get overcome because I already got choked up earlier.
- 3:00Put on some KISS music and it was like, oh, God, I can't.
- 3:04I really like, honestly, Gene almost bought it last week.
- 3:07You fall asleep at the wheel on the Pacific Coast Highway.
- 3:10I don't know if you've ever driven up the PCH in California.
- 3:14It's all rocks and mountains and cliffs down to the ocean.
- 3:19And I crashed into a parked car because he fainted.
- 3:23Because he's on new meds, apparently.
- 3:26Yeah, man. KISS, Black Sabbath, Led
- 3:28Zeppelin and Lizzie Queen, Pink Floyd.
- 3:30That's my whole AB CS. That's my whole childhood.
- 3:32Before I was out of diapers, I was rocking out.
- 3:35I will always love Kiss. Kiss is imperfect.
- 3:37Kiss is a reflection of middle America, is, you know, got its
- 3:42faults and flaws in all the best and worst ways.
- 3:46They are American. But you know, Kiss Ace is an
- 3:49icon and he is everything about him.
- 3:54I don't even think it's a question that he was the most
- 3:56talented person in Kiss. And I'm a huge Peter Criss fan.
- 3:59Like, I wanted to be Peter Criss when I was a little kid, but
- 4:02we'll talk more about that tomorrow.
- 4:03I'm going to bang through the show.
- 4:06And hey, Southeast of heaven. I am high as fucking working on
- 4:10the pieces we speak. Yeah, man.
- 4:11Like, you know, it's the same. Every time someone dies, I have
- 4:14to write up an obituary. Hope I didn't miss anything
- 4:19crucial. Be thoughtful and smart.
- 4:21And, you know, I think there's this very gross thing.
- 4:24And. And Don, you can my Padre here,
- 4:28Don from Southeast of heaven talking to talk with Don and
- 4:30glacially musical podcast. Don is one of my hetero life
- 4:34mates. I love you too, buddy.
- 4:35Thank you. You know, there's this kind of
- 4:40like very shitty because again, a lot of people who do what we
- 4:44do are not trained writers. And even if you weren't a
- 4:47trained writer, there's just like a lack of decorum and and
- 4:50and ability when it comes to talking about someone that's
- 4:54passed away. Turn to woe Band is here.
- 4:57Christine, Michelle, thank you for all passing by.
- 4:59Mason. Gee, welcome back.
- 5:01Anybody that's watching. Thank you, Ace and Ozzy hanging
- 5:05out out there. Yeah, I saw that.
- 5:06I think a lot. Yeah.
- 5:07I'm a wreck, bro. I'm a wreck.
- 5:08I know. Well, I mean, like, I don't
- 5:10know, Don, you wrote a book. You published a book about a a
- 5:13semi memoir slash rock history book.
- 5:16It's brilliant. I told you that before we were
- 5:18friends, I was, you know, very well enamoured with your book.
- 5:22I would actually like to have a poster of the the album cover,
- 5:25the book cover. But anyway, I have not written a
- 5:27book. I would like to.
- 5:31Melissa is here, my love. Hello.
- 5:33I'll see you in a few hours. But anyway, I got to get this
- 5:37done so I can go pick up my sleep meds and then go see my
- 5:39girlfriend. But anyway, and cry a lot.
- 5:42But yeah, man, I think there's a lack of quality writing and
- 5:48decorum, especially when someone dies.
- 5:49It's very salacious and mean. A lot of people were pushing the
- 5:53Aces dead thing before it was announced.
- 5:56There were only four sources. I would have accepted an
- 5:59acceptable confirmation of Aces passing and I'll talk about that
- 6:03tomorrow. And everybody was like for the
- 6:08clicks, doing it for the clicks. And I think, I think that's
- 6:10fucking gross, really gross. But anyway, let's do the show.
- 6:15I have a fun a fun picture of me.
- 6:19Here is me taking a selfie in my fit for a metal show.
- 6:23I had like one of the most metal weeks of my life.
- 6:28You know, I've been I went to two shows this week.
- 6:31I've been rocking out a lot. I've been listening to a lot of
- 6:34music. I got like in the flow of
- 6:35writing again for the first time in a while where I felt like
- 6:39very into my zone and I'm I'm really having a hard time.
- 6:42Thank you Scooter, I love you too.
- 6:44I'm having a hard time processing my grief about Ozzy
- 6:47and now Ace is gone. This is just fucking terrible.
- 6:51Not to mention a whole bunch of other losses, Brent from
- 6:55Mastodon. But anyway, thank you everybody
- 6:58for the love and support. I am not doing well.
- 7:03Hello family, I hope you are fine.
- 7:06I am not fine. And George Carlin got way too
- 7:10young. Here's the tip menu in case
- 7:13people want to drop us a tip. I appreciate it.
- 7:15You know, I did talk to my good homie Jim today.
- 7:19Slayer's wine. He may pop in here sometimes.
- 7:21He pops in. And Jim and I were talking, you
- 7:26know, he's fighting cancer again.
- 7:27But he should. He still has a very good
- 7:29prognosis. And, you know, we were talking
- 7:31about how sad it was. Ace is really the first.
- 7:33Eric Carr is really the first KISS member to die.
- 7:36But it's very sad that A should perish.
- 7:38And you know, like I said, we almost lost Vaseline Dion.
- 7:43Great name, by the way, incredible stage name.
- 7:45Vaseline Dion. That's amazing.
- 7:47You're a genius. I don't know if anyone has ever
- 7:49told you you're a genius, but you're a goddamn genius.
- 7:51I'm going to just drop the tip menu here on Tick of the Talk.
- 7:57A lot of people reached out and called me.
- 7:59That's another reason why I'm going late.
- 8:02I just needed comfort and care under the circumstances.
- 8:05I'm sorry. I really I am.
- 8:08I keep promising to do these at a more consistent clip and it's
- 8:12it is a struggle. I won't front.
- 8:16Where is this fucking comment thing?
- 8:18Hold on here we go. Hey Instagram, hey TikTok make
- 8:23this shit easier for me. TikTok might be going away as we
- 8:26know it. All the all the time I've spent
- 8:29investing in this platform, it may be disappearing as an app
- 8:32for America. We have to start all over again
- 8:34with a new with the new. I'm not wearing pants.
- 8:37I'm wearing pajamas underneath this misfit shirt.
- 8:41And hello, Melissa. All right, so here, let's do the
- 8:43show. I'm sorry, I'm rambling. 8
- 8:45minutes in. Let's get to it.
- 8:47You know, we start every week with the announcements, and
- 8:49obviously we're going to talk about Ace.
- 8:50We already, you know, started about talking about Ace.
- 8:52So we'll talk more about them in a minute.
- 8:55Again, Ghost Cult turned 13 last year.
- 8:58Yeah, I hear you. Let's take this to Friendster.
- 9:00Let's bring back Friendster. Just a crazy year for musicians
- 9:03and actors passing away. Very sad, but we'll all be there
- 9:05for each other words, Scooter. Scooter, I appreciate you.
- 9:08You're wonderfully, wonderfully said my friend.
- 9:10So we turned 13 last week. I was supposed to.
- 9:12Hey, Ken is here, Ken. Ken is a huge kiss fan.
- 9:16We were talking about the passing of ace.
- 9:17First person to call me first person.
- 9:19I, you know, second person. You know, first person to call
- 9:23me second person I talk to about it.
- 9:24Overall, this box behind me is supposed to be a giveaway I'm
- 9:28starting to do for the 13th anniversary.
- 9:30That was last week. It's gimmicky.
- 9:32It's like 13 items for $130.00. Somebody's going to win it.
- 9:36I'm going to do it tomorrow. I can't do it today.
- 9:38I just didn't have it in me to do it and would have been the
- 9:42last thing I did before going live.
- 9:45But anyway, 13 years ago is called Ken.
- 9:47Thank you for being there for me, brother, and I'm really
- 9:49sorry. Ken has been like me, a Kiss
- 9:51band since the first band I love, first band since
- 9:53childhood. Kiss saw Ken saw a KISS back in
- 9:55the day. His parents took him.
- 9:57Amazing. We're giving away tickets to see
- 10:00the Cults Death cults Failure, and patriarchy in LA on the
- 10:0530th. So if you want, feel free to
- 10:09sign up. I will drop the link right now.
- 10:13Again, if you're in the California area, sign up.
- 10:15If you're not in the California area and you definitely can go
- 10:17to the show. Keep trying.
- 10:19But I really would like to give 5 pairs of tickets away to
- 10:24people that can actually go to the show.
- 10:26I know golden voices, you know, have some issues, but you know
- 10:32they are they are who they are. Let's see I will put this
- 10:38comment everywhere but Facebook because if you start putting too
- 10:41many comments on Facebook, they block you because Facebook is
- 10:44fucking dumb. All these social networks are
- 10:46disappointing the shit out of me and really, you know, I that's
- 10:51why I'm reactivated our newsletter.
- 10:54I started doing more on YouTube and, and things like that with
- 10:57my own YouTube channel. Please go follow me at ghost
- 11:00call Kefi 666. I will be doing some very
- 11:04premium content there soon. We are going to do memberships
- 11:07and and stuff. So yeah, a star.
- 11:08This sucks. I will do a live stream about it
- 11:11tomorrow afternoon. Not from here, but I'll do it
- 11:14tomorrow and we'll talk more about it then.
- 11:17RIP to one of the goats. Sean Malloy.
- 11:18What's up, brother? Thanks for being here.
- 11:20One of the goats. No Dime bag, Darrell, no
- 11:23Megadeth, no Metallica, no Misfits, no Pantera, no Skid
- 11:30Row, no whole Mötley Crüe, no nobody.
- 11:34If you don't have Ace. And even though Gene and Paul
- 11:37conceived a kiss and all these things, Ace was the talent in
- 11:42kits, man. He really was.
- 11:43But we'll talk again. I'm going to go very docking
- 11:46right. Every band Don's favorite band
- 11:48docking. Yeah, man.
- 11:52All right. Also this week, heartbreaking
- 11:54D'Angelo the the neo soul R&B singer died at 51.
- 12:00It kind of breaks my brain. He had pancreatic cancer is a
- 12:03horrible way to go. And and his child with Owen guns
- 12:10is here. His child with Angie Stone.
- 12:12Angie Stone died in a horrible car crash this spring.
- 12:15So now that child, how you know, have her grown and is parentless
- 12:18after like 6-7 months apart? Like heartbreaking.
- 12:23You know, DeAngelo, you know, kind of hit big and then kind of
- 12:26retreated from the spotlight. He had some personal travails
- 12:29and trials and, and stuff and what a tough life he had, even
- 12:33though success and fame, even there was always a chance he was
- 12:36going to continue to cut, you know, do stuff.
- 12:40John Lodge of The Moody Blues died late last week.
- 12:43This was a heartbreaker for me. I love The Moody Blues, one of
- 12:48my favorite groups growing up. You know, John is the person
- 12:52that pushed them into progressive rock along with
- 12:55Justin Hayward and took them away from kind of a Rolling
- 12:58Stones, Kinks, pop rock, Beatles pop rock to a real progressive
- 13:05rock powerhouse. And they weren't the first band
- 13:08to do the symphonic thing, but they were the maybe the best
- 13:11band to do it actually. No disrespect to Metallica and a
- 13:14bunch of other bands who've done it.
- 13:17Diane Keaton died this week. Does turn out that she did.
- 13:20She was sick for a very long time with an undisclosed illness
- 13:23and then she contracted pneumonia and that's what killed
- 13:26her. Which sucks.
- 13:27I know. You know, just to talk about
- 13:29this with my best friend about how wonderful she was, I can't
- 13:33afford a photo of Diane Keaton. I was able to get a photo of Ace
- 13:35to use for our social posts. This is a screen grab from The
- 13:39Godfather. Obviously one of the greatest
- 13:41films of all time. Her acting career was fucking
- 13:43stellar. She did have a romance with
- 13:45Pacino and they ended up not staying together which is too
- 13:48bad. And he talked about how
- 13:50heartbreaking her death is for him.
- 13:52He loved her forever. They just did is met each other
- 13:55at the wrong time or some shit and just what a what a champion
- 13:59actress she was forever and ever.
- 14:01Go look up all her stuff, not just Annie Hall, not just the
- 14:04Godfather. She really was never in too many
- 14:07stinker movies. She was always like uplifted
- 14:10everything she was in kind of like Dennis Hopper, how I think
- 14:13about it. Hey, now I've done it is here.
- 14:15I was just about to give you guys a shout out.
- 14:16We'll talk about that in a minute.
- 14:17We've been talking a lot about Ace freely and a bunch of other
- 14:20things. This one kind of fucking broke
- 14:24my brain a little too. Another fucking great legend
- 14:27lost. Tamanobu Itagaki, who obviously
- 14:33invented Ninja Gaiden, died at 58.
- 14:35I don't know what he passed away from, but you know, obviously
- 14:38humongous game designer. You know, like a legendary game
- 14:42designer. So just a whole week of heart
- 14:46breaks and heartaches on the good news this week in 1991, you
- 14:51know, Metallica in their kind of a sense before the Black album
- 14:55went from being kind of this underground.
- 14:58All of thrash metal was underground, but they went from
- 15:00being this real underground band to being like a headliner of of
- 15:05local festivals. Day on the Green was the Bay
- 15:08Area metal festival and it had gone back to like Scorpions and
- 15:13Van Halen and Ozzy and David Lee Roth solo and all these things.
- 15:17And then Metallica headline. Look at this line up.
- 15:20I'll begin this for a minute. Day on the green Metallica
- 15:24Queens Reich. This is 1991 Metallica Queens
- 15:29Reich at the height of Queens Reich empire and and mind crime
- 15:33Faith No More humongous here, right?
- 15:35And Soundgarden, Holy fuck, that's at Oakland Stadium.
- 15:40They now disused baseball stadium where the A's used to
- 15:44play. Fucking wack.
- 15:48Too much sadness. Hopefully the year will end on a
- 15:50high note. I feel you bro, I feel you I
- 15:52feel you. Start from scratches here on the
- 15:57good news for Halloween season, we still got a few more weeks
- 15:59till Halloween. Evil Dead premiered this week in
- 16:031981. One of the most creative great
- 16:06movies of all time of the entire horror genre and frankly it's a
- 16:11revolutionary movie just in general.
- 16:13Shout out to my man Sam Raimi. Every set that day was amazing.
- 16:18Queen's right set was mind blowing.
- 16:19Word to the fucking bird bro. They're all on YouTube I think
- 16:23you can watch them. You have the shirt?
- 16:28Sick bro. That's a great shirt.
- 16:31Also this week in history, I'm Afraid of Americans by David
- 16:34Bowie with 9 Inch nails in the Trent Reznor in the video.
- 16:40Great video, one of the best videos of the whole decade.
- 16:42And that's saying something from Bowie and 9 Inch Nails.
- 16:45We both have some of the most iconic videos of that time, but
- 16:48a super fucking great video and song.
- 16:50I've been bugging out on that recent acquire.
- 16:54I don't know if you guys watched the my other podcast, The
- 16:57Relation, the musical podcast where I got that great radio
- 17:01show, vinyl performance recording from Bowie and 9 Inch
- 17:06shells. God says I'm afraid of Americans
- 17:08as we speak. You know, Mitch McConnell is
- 17:10alive. Orrin Hatch.
- 17:11I don't wish death on anybody, but these mother fuckers are
- 17:13going to just die well after we're all gone and we had to
- 17:18lose Ace in a terrible fucking way.
- 17:20What a fucking shame. But OK.
- 17:23Also in metal history, in the last week, here is a bunch of
- 17:26albums that came out. Maybe it will jog some memories
- 17:29for you. Maybe you will go stream it.
- 17:31Maybe you'll be like, I need that on vinyl and go get it.
- 17:33That's why we do these things. We talk about birthdays.
- 17:36There were a few birthdays I missed this week.
- 17:38We did Doc Coyle. And I wish Michael Alago a happy
- 17:41birthday, his 66th birthday. He's a wonder and a gem.
- 17:45But yeah, Dennis is here. What's up?
- 17:48Dennis? Nikki J Rod, what up?
- 17:50Welcome back. So released this week in medal
- 17:53history. You believe the first death
- 17:55medal record ever possessed 7 churches.
- 17:58Also released this week in history.
- 17:59Ozzy down to earth. Not my favorite Ozzy record but
- 18:02solid Co CS brilliant and Grammy award-winning wise blood.
- 18:08If you wonder why Load and Reload sounds like they do, it's
- 18:11because Metallica and James Hetfield got like completely
- 18:13addicted to corrosion and conformity.
- 18:16Overkill Mother fucker. Feel the Fire, their debut
- 18:19album. Excellent.
- 18:20Not a little more punk rock than the thrash metal they became,
- 18:24but pretty good. Rivers of Nile, I think this is
- 18:27their debut. Lorna Shore, the most talked
- 18:31about band in the last three or four years.
- 18:33Pain Remains, this is their debut with Will Ramos on vocals.
- 18:36We had a really good interview with Will around this time.
- 18:40And yes, the singer of Lost Prophets is dead.
- 18:43Yes, we talked about him last week.
- 18:44Fuck that. Trivium had an excellent record
- 18:48this week in history. Yeah, man.
- 18:52Understood. Understood.
- 18:53Can get well. Be kind to yourself.
- 18:56Love you much, brother. And again, thanks for the
- 18:59support today on the A stub. It's just been fucking dreadful.
- 19:02Hey, Karen, this year. What's up?
- 19:03Karen? Good to see you again.
- 19:06Yep. The Lost Prophet singer died.
- 19:07Maybe we, you know, we get we lose a great one.
- 19:09We get rid of a terrible one. Creators endless pain.
- 19:12This is their debut. Be Well Ken, thanks for being
- 19:15here. Death Angel.
- 19:17This dream Girls. Oh God, I love me some Death
- 19:22Angel. Looking forward to the Death
- 19:23Angel Christmas shows in December.
- 19:27Insomnium. I feel like I have this record
- 19:29autographed by the band somewhere.
- 19:32Like I was at a show and I wasn't intending to buy, like
- 19:35they were on tour for an album that came out a couple of years
- 19:38ago. But this was the record they had
- 19:39the vinyl and it was signed that I made like an impulse buy.
- 19:42I was working at the time and I was like, I have extra cash,
- 19:45I'll buy this record. One for Sorrow.
- 19:47Great record. But I also was like, is it my
- 19:50favorite Insomnium record for sure or not?
- 19:52Gotta get some cookies and milk feedback soon I bet.
- 19:54I bet you got the munchies, bro. I'm going to get wrecked on some
- 19:59gummies later. Sacrifice.
- 20:01My second favorite Canadian metal band after Voivod.
- 20:04Forward to termination. What a what a colorful album
- 20:08cover this was. Not a lot of album covers use
- 20:10yellow in the 80s and 90s. My Dying Bride, the light at the
- 20:15end of the world. I'm so sad about the My Dying
- 20:20Bride news. I think I briefly touched on it
- 20:22last week that Aaron Slash was let go.
- 20:26Slash left My Bride. My Dying Bride.
- 20:29He's on tour right now with his new band, High Parasite.
- 20:32We'll talk about that. ACDC, their best live album with
- 20:37Bon Scott, If you want blood. This was like the ACDC 70s.
- 20:41People remember something stupid.
- 20:46Welcome back, Tom. It's been a minute.
- 20:48Thanks for being here. Pete Golan is here.
- 20:55Overkill years of decay. Great record.
- 20:58This also came out in the last week.
- 21:00And here's a great record, Enslaved, the former ghost
- 21:02called album of the year for 2017 E the E record.
- 21:05It probably means like in Old Norse or whatever, it has like a
- 21:08deeper meaning, kind of like how kanji means phrases in Japanese
- 21:12and not one letter for all you tattoo folks.
- 21:17Flotsam and jetsam Quattro. Not my favorite.
- 21:19Their third, their 4th record was like every thrash band tried
- 21:23to be grunge or Metallica. Black album dude, the king of
- 21:27space, bro, I'm so sad about ace, bro, I'm so fucking sad.
- 21:30Thank you for your comment and I'm and I'm glad to see you back
- 21:33here. So Exodus Zitro out Duke's in.
- 21:40Don is missing that comment I think but looking forward to see
- 21:44Duke's maybe do some of this music that he originally
- 21:47recorded and then Zitro replaced him and that's all recorded.
- 21:50Re recorded the whole album in one week.
- 21:56Raven Rock until you drop. Pretty solid record.
- 22:00I love this. This thing always cracked me up
- 22:03when I saw this album cover as a little kid.
- 22:05Iron Man in live after death, the great Iron Man in lies out,
- 22:08Duke's in Duke's out Huntelton. Dude Rick hunt is awesome.
- 22:11I love Rick Hunt, I've interviewed him a few times for
- 22:14his current bands and he's got that band Nefarious.
- 22:18You like Zetro Overdukes. A lot of people do.
- 22:21Zetro also never in the same room as the ghost of Bon Scott.
- 22:25I like Dukes. The records Dukes made.
- 22:28He absolutely fucking nailed the assignment, brought them into a
- 22:33modern sound. He saved the band.
- 22:34They were done when Zetro Zetro quit the band after they
- 22:39recorded Tempo of the Dam seven days before going on tour to
- 22:44promote Tempo of the Dam and Zedro quit and they had a tour
- 22:47book with Megadeth as the opening band for Megadeth, the
- 22:51Middle band and Steve Escoval from Defiance and a bunch of
- 23:02other Skin Lab. Right.
- 23:03Like great great vocalists and I love Skin Labs.
- 23:05Skin Labs back making new music too.
- 23:07I've seen them live recently. I'm so happy.
- 23:09And I saw Defiance finally last year.
- 23:12Blood and Bled Out was their best album since Fabulous
- 23:15Disaster. I heartily disagree but OK.
- 23:18I think Atrocity exhibit A&B, go back and listen to those with
- 23:21Dukes. But Tempo is great.
- 23:23Tempo has blacklist which is one of my favorite songs.
- 23:25OK, my favorite ace solo. I mean the solo and she is
- 23:31fucking just so soulful and she is an incredible song to begin
- 23:35with. Gotta love the live version of
- 23:39Rock'n'roll all night. He crushed it.
- 23:41He fractured mirror rock soldiers.
- 23:46You know, you know, he's he's the most talented person in KISS
- 23:50and by far. Very sad, very sad.
- 23:53I've been a KISS fan since I was like two or three years old.
- 23:56It's crazy. KISS Army 75, Black Diamond
- 24:00Outro. Oh, that's a great one too.
- 24:02Live especially. I love Black Diamond.
- 24:03Black Diamond is an incredible song.
- 24:06Fates Warning. Here's a great record.
- 24:07I bet Don has. Hey.
- 24:10Yeah. And that's the deal once again.
- 24:12You know, if you want to drop us a tip and a tip menu.
- 24:15I appreciate it. Thank you.
- 24:16If not, that's OK too. I'm going to reduce my embigen
- 24:20and go back to this. Of course, we got the Cash App.
- 24:23If you want to hit it, hit it, and if you don't, that's fine
- 24:27too. Once again, it's time for
- 24:29features. And of course, we do live
- 24:31streams. I only did the one this week.
- 24:33We'll talk about it in one more minute.
- 24:34Tomorrow I will go live and do a specific show about Ace Doctor
- 24:39Love in Detroit. Rock city, dude.
- 24:41Yeah, Killer Doctor Love is great.
- 24:43Great song, great solo. Everything Shock Me has to be
- 24:46one of his best solos. Die Bad Garrels favorite guitar
- 24:49solo and the one that made him want to play guitar.
- 24:51Mojave Experience. So I went live on Monday and I
- 24:54will probably be going live for the next bunch of Mondays as we
- 24:57have become a partner with the festival.
- 24:59The debut festival taking place in Joshua Tree National Park in
- 25:04March. I may yet go for it, go out
- 25:07there for it, We'll see. But in the meantime, we agreed
- 25:09to partner with the festival to help them promote it.
- 25:12We helped make their second lineup announcement.
- 25:15They had previously announced Earthless as one of their
- 25:18headliners along with Dead Meadow Bay Area.
- 25:20What up? And then I came on Monday and I
- 25:23announced Acid King and John Garcia of Chias doing an entire
- 25:27career retrospective set with his current band.
- 25:31Our rate base is here. What up?
- 25:32What up? Travis is here.
- 25:35So yeah. Well, hobby experience.
- 25:38Stay tuned every Monday about 2:00 PM Pacific, 5:00 PM Eastern
- 25:42for me to go live every week in the next bunch of weeks and
- 25:44announce new bands coming on for that be pretty quick pretty
- 25:49brief live streams. We'll see how they do, but I'm
- 25:53I'm excited to work with them. So yeah.
- 25:55Also hey, now I've done it. Now I've done it.
- 25:59We premiered their entire new album stream and I'll guest is
- 26:03out tomorrow and shout out to claw hammer PR.
- 26:06Now I've done it is like the Child of Mr. Bungle and Made out
- 26:11of Babies and Stolen babies. No relation to made out of
- 26:15babies and Devin Townsend's more weird, mystical shit.
- 26:20Great band. Love the record.
- 26:22I jammed it out. I ran the premiere.
- 26:24You go check it out. It's one of the top posts on our
- 26:26site today. Interviews this week feature
- 26:30length interviews on our YouTube and podcast.
- 26:32Tom Osmond, my managing editor of our reviews team, also does
- 26:36interviews and he interviewed Steve Austin of Today's The Day.
- 26:39I've interviewed Steve in the past.
- 26:41New Today is the Day album, out now.
- 26:43Probably one of the best albums of the year re re released on
- 26:47his reactivated label Supernova USA Records.
- 26:52Very excited for some today as the Day best.
- 26:54Some of the best 90s and 2000s medal was made by this band and
- 26:58he produced probably every band you love.
- 27:02Also if you like grindcore and death metal, Nuclear dudes.
- 27:06I talked to John Weissman about their current record Truth Pace.
- 27:10They have another new record coming out cuz Grind For Life
- 27:13and just busting out bedroom albums.
- 27:15But another new record is coming out in November so we'll have
- 27:18another interview with them soon by my pal Morgan Evans.
- 27:24Also I ran my interview with Cosmic Reaper.
- 27:27Pretty cool, fun Stoner rock psychedelic doom band from the
- 27:31Carolinas. Excellent stuff.
- 27:33Also, just in case you missed it, recent interviews we've done
- 27:36include Halloween and a bunch of other bands, Ashes and Aries.
- 27:40Matt Barlow, formerly of Ice Earth, maybe again, future Ice
- 27:43Earth singer again, probably someday.
- 27:47Stu block out, Matt Barlow in, Zetro out, Dukes in, and of
- 27:53course the glacially musical podcast My Hetero.
- 27:56One of my hetero Remote Life mates, Don, is here from that.
- 28:01Just hang Rock'n'roll over. Yep bro, that was my first vinyl
- 28:04I ever bought. Rock'n'roll over when I was five
- 28:06years old. Came out over the summer when I
- 28:08was about to turn 5. I got some cash on my 5th
- 28:12birthday. Grew up in pretty bad poverty,
- 28:14but once in a while we got things and I was given a fistful
- 28:18of dollars and I got walked down to Pelham Parkway in the Bronx
- 28:22with my mom next to the OTB and everybody puffing cigars.
- 28:28And I got that rock'n'roll over. And I brought it home.
- 28:31And my brother was tired of me touching his KISS records.
- 28:33And I got my own little Fisher Price phonograph and my KISS
- 28:36record that probably fucked up that record.
- 28:38But I love me some rock'n'roll over.
- 28:41I won't you Glacier Musical podcast is currently doing a
- 28:46series. I am leaning on Alice In Chains.
- 28:49I'm so pumped. One of my top three bands of all
- 28:51time. Shaffer in prison, hopefully.
- 28:53Yeah, maybe we'll see already. He ratted, so hopefully he
- 28:57doesn't get murked out in the wild in Florida where he lives.
- 29:01You know, he rat, he ratted on the Proud Boys so he could get
- 29:03out of jail. He was going to go to jail for a
- 29:05long time. So anyway, glitchily musical
- 29:08podcast. We did our first few episodes on
- 29:10Alice In Chains. We were supposed to do another
- 29:13Chaser this week anyway, and then we decided maybe we'll do
- 29:15another Alice episode, but I think we're going to end up
- 29:17doing Ace. We are all big Kiss fans, Nick,
- 29:20Cameron, Don and I, so stay tuned for that.
- 29:23All right, now the news rundown. I'm going to whip through this.
- 29:26It's going to be a little condensed because I'm going to
- 29:28hit the road and I got to make the pharmacy in time to get my
- 29:30meds. Metal festival Sip Your World
- 29:34has been leaked. People, people.
- 29:40Oh, nice man, the local store you love was going out of
- 29:42business, Dom says. And he hooked me up with album
- 29:44covers. That's sick, bro.
- 29:46So sick new world. The Internet will not fucking
- 29:51let up. I wanted to come back, people
- 29:53wanted to come back. There have been a lot of updates
- 29:55to their website, but apparently they're not smart about it.
- 29:58So the lineup is now like not the lineup, but the when it is.
- 30:03So it looks like it's going to be the last weekend in April
- 30:05back in Vegas, there were some rumors about Texas.
- 30:07It still might be do another one in Texas.
- 30:10System of down is the headliner. I would imagine most of the
- 30:13lineup from last year is going to be this year.
- 30:17Maybe Metallica comes back, maybe Linkin Park comes back,
- 30:19Maybe neither of them come back. People seem to keep blaming
- 30:23Metallica Linkin Park as the reason the festival was
- 30:26cancelled. I know the reason it was
- 30:27cancelled and I've talked about it a bunch of times, including
- 30:31on Reddit. So if you're at Signal World
- 30:34when we're young is this weekend, then they'll probably
- 30:36announce it then and I'll talk about that in a second.
- 30:38So yeah, when we're young, also by the same company that does
- 30:42Shaky Knees and Coachella and Lollapalooza and when we're
- 30:46young. So when we're young, we'll we'll
- 30:47probably get some some news soon about it.
- 30:56Once again, reminder about the Mojave experience.
- 31:00It looks pretty cool. Man, that Lastic New World
- 31:03lineup was cool. The one that didn't happen.
- 31:05The one that did happen, John brings more.
- 31:08Welcome back, John. Salon Cuts is here.
- 31:11Zoko is here. Good to see you my friend.
- 31:13Thank you for tuning in once again.
- 31:16This looks cool. What is this FFF The FYA fest
- 31:22taking place in January? Hatebreed Marauder.
- 31:29Haywire Mind Force from New York.
- 31:31Bullshit. Everybody takes 1/4 order.
- 31:34Magnitude Mongrel, No Idol. Scarab.
- 31:36See the Pain? Whispers Drain Gorilla Biscuits.
- 31:39My favorite hardcore band ever. Flesh Water and it turmoils a
- 31:43lot of people going to get punchy punchy in the pit for
- 31:45this one. Missing Link Also from New York
- 31:47on their gridiron. Good Shit Good Things festival.
- 31:51We've been talking about that for a while.
- 31:53Jimmy James, What's up? We've been, oh, the one that
- 31:57didn't happen. Yeah, that lineup was great.
- 31:59I think it's too many bands make it 2 days.
- 32:01It's too much money for one day. It's too much to do in one day.
- 32:05There's no way to actually enjoy the festival if it's too many
- 32:08fucking bands. That's my personal feeling.
- 32:11We do love covering it. I would love to cover it again,
- 32:14but I don't think I will be going this year unless something
- 32:18crazy happens like pool plays it.
- 32:20I don't write this minute. No matter who they get, I've
- 32:23seen them all and I don't think there's like enough of a draw.
- 32:26And there's other things I want to do like Mojave Experience,
- 32:29maybe Maryland Deathfest. Anyway, Good Things Festival
- 32:32taking place in Australia has now announced all their
- 32:34sideshows. So all the headline bands, Tool,
- 32:37all time Low, all American Rejects, Machine Head Knock
- 32:39Loose, Lauren Ashore refused their who were playing their
- 32:43last shows ever in Australia, Fever 333.
- 32:46These are all sideshows. Score was added a bunch of more
- 32:49Australian dates. This looks cool.
- 32:51Hard Rock Hell in England is taking place coming up soon in
- 32:54November. Royal Republic is the headliner.
- 32:56Steel Hart, Reactivated, April Wine, Black Eyed Sons, the still
- 33:01unfortunately named Wigwam, Please change your name,
- 33:04Junkyard Drive and a bunch of other British rock bands and
- 33:06European rock bands. They also have an award show.
- 33:09They have a Prague show. You don't care for Tool, that's
- 33:11fine Don, I'm a big fan. Nick from Gleecely Musical hates
- 33:15Tool, but I am going to try to make him do Tool next year.
- 33:19Sonic Temple keeps adding a bunch of bands.
- 33:21Rockville has added a bunch of bands.
- 33:23Got much more metal with this line up change, so we'll see.
- 33:28They're shaping up to be pretty. Get big headliners, include My
- 33:31Cam and Bring Me the Horizon, so more headliners to go still.
- 33:38All right, that's the festival wrap up for this week.
- 33:40Sonic. Yes Sonic Temple looks fucking
- 33:43great and Rockville is looking solid which is why I kind of
- 33:47feel like really sick in the world is really competing
- 33:51against Sonic Temple and Rockville and not Coachella.
- 33:55But the problem is a lot of people from Vegas lead Vegas to
- 33:59go to Coachella because of the short flight times.
- 34:02Savant is here so the rush tickets are on sale and they are
- 34:06anywhere from $59 to $600.00 apparently according to
- 34:11something I heard. So I would like to go to this.
- 34:13They added a bunch more dates so every city, LA, Fort Worth,
- 34:17Chicago, New York, Toronto, Cleveland, they added two more
- 34:19nights in each city for a total of 480 thousand plus people per
- 34:24city except Mexico, which I think they're still doing maybe
- 34:28one or two. I'd like to go to this but not
- 34:31for 600 bucks. I just saw this tour, Judas
- 34:35Priest and Alice Cooper Tuesday, we covered it yesterday.
- 34:39Phenomenal show. COC opened very clever marketing
- 34:43by COC to put the back. The video screen behind them had
- 34:47the their brand new album double album cover for 2026 unnamed.
- 34:52No music yet but pretty fucking rad.
- 34:55Cooper was incredible. I don't want to spoil everything
- 34:58but it's a classic full Cooper show even though it's a headline
- 35:01show. And Priest was phenomenal.
- 35:04Great fucking show. I'm so glad I got to go.
- 35:07Shout out to my boy Jorge from my band Angst.
- 35:10Follow us at Angst Music SF, we're hopefully going to work on
- 35:14some new stuff soon. Metallica has one more show left
- 35:17in this year, and that is the Qatar Grand Prix in a place
- 35:20they've never played together before.
- 35:22Qatar kind of one of our enemies.
- 35:24I don't kind of know why they're playing there, but OK.
- 35:28OK, let's let Qatar train Air Force pilots on US soil for them
- 35:36to later bomb our friends. Cool.
- 35:39Anyway, I also saw this show yesterday.
- 35:41Dark Angel. I am officially too fucking old
- 35:44for a six band bill on a Wednesday.
- 35:46I was dying by the end of this thing.
- 35:48I was highly entertained. It was an excellent show.
- 35:51Tonight is the final night in LA and at the Belasco.
- 35:56But the show last night was great.
- 35:58I absolutely love the Hyrax comedians can't go to Riyadh but
- 36:03Metallica can go to Qatar. Exactly exactly my friend.
- 36:07Exactly. But anyway, Dark Angel I don't.
- 36:09I'm just going to take one second to tirade a little.
- 36:12The Internet is shitting on Dark Angel for their album people
- 36:16have not heard and for their merch I guess it shows.
- 36:19And their AI artwork. Yes, the artwork for the album
- 36:22cover looks kind of AI and they used an AI visualizer for the
- 36:25lyric video. And you know, I interviewed Gene
- 36:29Hoagland here on the channel. You can check that out.
- 36:31And Gene was like we're starchly anti streaming and anti Spotify
- 36:34because they will not pay us what we deserve.
- 36:37I don't want my music on Apple Music.
- 36:38They don't pay either. They pay worse than Spotify
- 36:40apparently. And I just as soon as make my
- 36:44own record label and put records out myself.
- 36:46You want the Dark Angel record, buy it from their website or buy
- 36:49the physical CD or vinyl and buy the thing.
- 36:52Now I will say I went to the tour hoping to buy the record
- 36:55and they didn't have it. They will have it tonight in LA
- 36:58apparently. But I was like how do you not
- 36:59have the record? But also fucking new music is
- 37:03fucking killer and stands up to the best dark Angel shit I
- 37:06heard. So like I don't know what the
- 37:08fuck people are talking about. The songs are killer, the merch
- 37:10look cool. I don't know what the fuck
- 37:12people are mad. They're like they heard it was
- 37:14bad, someone said it was bad, and the whole Internet and all
- 37:18of Reddit said it sucks, it doesn't suck.
- 37:22Review coming soon to Ghost Call.
- 37:24Probably within a week or two. Better Lovers is going on to
- 37:28where they kicked off their UK tour tonight or European Tour.
- 37:32Hopefully we catch them in the UK next week.
- 37:34Today is the day has some touring going on for November.
- 37:36This looks pretty fucking killed and Never Give In tour.
- 37:41This looks amazing. Atomic.
- 38:16I'm back, OK? Hey, it's me.
- 38:18Fuck me, all right? I lost my fucking lost my
- 38:22slideshow for a minute. But yeah, man, like what a drag
- 38:28people are just want to hate on shit, bum me out, you know?
- 38:32There's enough fucking hatred in the world, and I just don't have
- 38:35the fucking patience for it, you know?
- 38:39I just don't have the patience. I'm almost done with the show.
- 38:43I'm almost out the door. Probably like 1520 minutes, 5 to
- 38:4710 more minutes for the show, 20 until I leave.
- 38:49All right? Anyway, Capra.
- 38:56Yeah, man, it's a flag, technically, that Tyler sent me.
- 38:59I love Capra. I do hope they can come back
- 39:01someday. I know they're kind of on a
- 39:03extended hiatus. I feel like Capra and Gozu were
- 39:12the only two good bands on that Black Light Media sub label from
- 39:17Metal Blade. Hey, it's me all right.
- 39:21Now I got to catch back up where the fucking slideshow left off
- 39:24where it was like concerts and tours.
- 39:26Right? Shot them at a horror show.
- 39:34Sick, bro. Yeah, Horrors.
- 39:35I love that band. I need to interview them.
- 39:38I haven't talked to them in a couple of years and I would like
- 39:40to get back to talking to them. Their last record was fucking
- 39:44killer. All right, so Dark Angel, Better
- 39:47Lovers, Today Is the day, Atomic Bitch, Wax and Crowbot.
- 39:53So Don see if that's coming near you and maybe I will send you
- 39:56out to it. Primer 55, I know we've been
- 40:01talking about New Metals, Sick, New World and System of a Down
- 40:05and Mudvane and Slipknot having like one of the best runs of
- 40:09their whole career the last couple of years.
- 40:11And Primer 55 is doing their first tour in like 15 years.
- 40:16Bobby Burns was on death's door 7-8 months ago and now he's
- 40:20going out on the road. I do hope he's going to take it
- 40:22easy. Take it slow bro, Take it slow.
- 40:26Season to Risk, another band I love, is coming my way to the
- 40:29West Coast soon. I'm going to try to catch that
- 40:31in December. Prong is Due continues to do a
- 40:36little bits of touring for their 31 years of cleansing or
- 40:42something. VNV Nation announced the tour
- 40:45today. We'll get that up on the site
- 40:46overnight, but I'm really excited about the VNV Nation.
- 40:49So already we got like 9 Inch Nails, VNV Nation and probably
- 40:54Stabbing Westward coming back on tour next year.
- 40:57Not all together, that would be sick, but a Nine Inch Boys noise
- 41:00or whatever. Dream Theater is coming around
- 41:02on tour. We're hoping to cover that on
- 41:04the East Coast next week. They are continuing to support
- 41:06their comeback record with Mike Pornoy.
- 41:08Paradise Lost just released a new album, Don, and they are on
- 41:12tour right now with Mesa and Parasite featuring Aaron,
- 41:14formerly of My Dying Bride. I hate saying that sentence.
- 41:19Gore continues their tour with Helmet and Dwarves.
- 41:21And they just added a bunch of new dates to Australia by
- 41:25popular demand because Gore, you know, you know, people want to
- 41:29try to come for them. And Mike says fuck Dream
- 41:33Theater. But Mike, you know, you're in a
- 41:34thread with Paul and Omar, who love Dream Theater.
- 41:36So, like, those are your boys. Maybe you should think
- 41:38carefully, son. Talk shit.
- 41:41Get a shot Ice T lemonade. Anyway.
- 41:46Hell, let's just appreciate that.
- 41:47This photo of Corey Glover of Living Color and disciples of
- 41:51Verity and Keith David, one of my favorite actors ever, just
- 41:56hanging out, just hanging out, posting pictures on Instagram
- 41:59and then going to like a meal together in a combo.
- 42:02They've been friends for a long time.
- 42:04You know, I know Corey goes back to the 80s as an actor, even
- 42:07before Living Color took off. So kind of fucking fun.
- 42:12All right, once again, a brief reminder if you want to drop us
- 42:17a tip, there's a tip net tip devices and links in the pin
- 42:21posts. Ghost Cult, one of our affiliate
- 42:24partners, is Fable Beard. If you want to have an awesome
- 42:26beard like I do, check out the link in the description.
- 42:29I can send you it. Also, if you buy some Fable
- 42:32Beard products, they're all natural, they're wonderful, they
- 42:35smell good, they feel good, they're good for you.
- 42:37And it's not like all these deodorants with aluminum and
- 42:40it's not like all these oils that are not good for your skin.

- 43:06What's up? Chasing vinyl is passing by.
- 43:08Love your stuff. And again, if you're watching
- 43:10this anywhere except TikTok, sorry, you are watching this
- 43:13through the grace of stream yard.
- 43:15If you want to stream like we do, sign up with the link in the
- 43:17description, OK? We're on all the socials.
- 43:20We're doing all the things you already know.
- 43:22We have a newsletter. Tomorrow's giveaway will push
- 43:26our newsletter. Mike is just savaging me in the
- 43:30comments. Rangers first team never be shut
- 43:32out. First three games.
- 43:33Yeah, I know that doesn't hurt me.
- 43:35You think that hurts me, bro? 1983, Mike.
- 43:39So yeah, obviously the story of the day, the story of the week,
- 43:41the story of now is Ace passing away.
- 43:43This shit sucks. He took a spill in his studio a
- 43:46few weeks ago. We didn't have very much info.
- 43:50October like a month ago. He had the accident less than a
- 43:53month ago. 3 weeks ago. Very quickly he passed.
- 43:56So he had a fall in his to home studio while recording his new
- 44:00covers album. See if that comes out or not
- 44:02Don't know. Last record as of now will come
- 44:07out in his lifetime. Is that 10,000 volts record?
- 44:09Sorry, not that great, but all right, Ace already did
- 44:13everything he has to do in his career.
- 44:14There's nothing to prove. And there was very little info
- 44:17put out. And Eddie Trunk said, you know,
- 44:19very coyly, like, oh, I know what's going on, but I'm sworn
- 44:22to secrecy. And it's like, well, you know,
- 44:24if there's something bad, tell us.
- 44:26And then we started here. The last couple of days he was
- 44:30on in the hospital and he wasn't doing well.
- 44:32And then today we heard he was on life support.
- 44:34The parent, the family and the wife had decided to maybe, you
- 44:37know, let him go because he had no brain function.
- 44:41A brain bleed is the official cause of death.
- 44:43But it's possible he had a stroke.
- 44:44It's possible he had his head. We don't know.
- 44:47But it's horrible, horrible way to go 74.
- 44:50You know, maybe all these old guys need to just be careful and
- 44:53baby themselves and just do less, say less and do less.
- 44:56You know what I'm saying? KISS put out a statement.
- 44:59I will read it to you. Thank you to my wonderful
- 45:01girlfriend for sending me this. I was wondering when KISS would
- 45:05put out a statement again. I do feel like the media
- 45:08coverage of this has been fucking terrible.
- 45:11We are devastated by the passing of Ace Freely.
- 45:13He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier
- 45:16during some of the most formative, foundational chapters
- 45:18of the band and its history. I feel like I want to read this
- 45:21in the Gene Simmons voice. He is and will always be a part
- 45:24of Kisses legacy. All the our thoughts are with
- 45:27Jeanette, Monique and all those who loved him including our fans
- 45:30around the world. Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of
- 45:33Kiss. I'm sure Peter will put out his
- 45:35own statement. I Rachel's here.
- 45:40What's up, Rachel? Ghost cultist Rachel.
- 45:43So yeah, man, just fucking brutal.
- 45:47Ozzy. The pumpkin patch design of Ozzy
- 45:51was finally visited by Sharon and Amy and Kelly this week.
- 45:56This is a big pumpkin patch every year where the owners of
- 45:59the pumpkin patch do a display with the pumpkins.
- 46:03It's usually voted on by fans of their social media.
- 46:06I Slices is here. Sludge metal.
- 46:09Fucky ass here. I also say sludge metal.
- 46:12Fuck yeah all the time. Especially when I'm listening to
- 46:15Conan. Anyway.
- 46:20Ozzy pumpkin patch visited by Sharon.
- 46:22Pretty cool Ozzy documentary again.
- 46:25I watched the second go of it last weekend.
- 46:27It is brutal. I will do a review of it soon or
- 46:33another like a written review of it.
- 46:35I already did a live stream review of it.
- 46:36I'll do a written review soon. Ozzie has the number one best
- 46:39seller for the 6th or 7th time. Ask Doctor Ozzie, I am Ozzie, a
- 46:45bunch of other Ozzie's ABC's. These books were all best
- 46:47sellers. His final book Here I have it.
- 46:51I started reading it, I got to finish it.
- 46:54The other big news of the week, MTV Europe.
- 46:58Paramount, the parent company of MTV is canceling all the other
- 47:01MTV related channels. If you think this is not
- 47:03extending to the US soon, you are sadly mistaken.
- 47:08Granted they're on different properties in Europe and it's
- 47:11probably a licensing thing. All these channels will shut
- 47:13down on the 21st. This is less than a year after
- 47:17Paramount just wiped out the servers with mtv.com and MTV
- 47:21News and Comedy Central's website and all these other
- 47:25properties they own. Fucking wack.
- 47:27I understand that MTV is not a music channel anymore and I
- 47:30thought the VM as thing was mostly terrible except the
- 47:33tribute to Ozzy. But yeah, man, I know nostalgia
- 47:37is not always the best for you, but like, it's, you know, on TV
- 47:41is part of a lot of people's upbringing.
- 47:43I just want to thank everybody watching it on Instagram,
- 47:47YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and everywhere else.
- 47:52Thank you, y'all, TikTok, Metallica played the Dreamfest,
- 48:01the Dreamforce convention by Salesforce last night.
- 48:06And I posted this overnight before I went to bed.
- 48:09And yeah, pretty interesting. There's like video, every video
- 48:13you see of Metallica and then somebody with the camera pans on
- 48:16the fans and people are just like this, glazed over, bored as
- 48:20fuck, don't appreciate shit. Like I understand like Metallica
- 48:26got a huge corporate payday and probably got, you know, their
- 48:29partners with Salesforce for a long time.
- 48:31I love fans just being fucking absent.
- 48:35Like here's here's the greatest rock band of our time, the
- 48:38greatest metal and rock band ever maybe.
- 48:40And like people are just fucking emotionless while they're on.
- 48:43And Benson Boone opened also and I know he's great.
- 48:45I saw him this year too. But like, you know, if you do
- 48:48corporate shit, you're going to get corporate fake ass sell out
- 48:52people who are not going to fucking appreciate shit.
- 48:56Maybe it's time for them after 15 years to stop fucking with
- 48:58this company. By the way, this company that
- 49:00wants like troops to come into San Francisco, the CEO said he
- 49:04would like troops to come in here.
- 49:05But listen, I live here. It's not that fucking bad.
- 49:08It's not any worse than any other major city in the country.
- 49:11It's not fucking rotten. It's or people on fire.
- 49:13It's San Francisco. People are trying to get their
- 49:15fuck on and eat Korean hot dogs with like hot honey salt, you
- 49:19know, honey on it. Like get fucked.
- 49:21The city is fine. We don't need the government in
- 49:23here. So yeah, Metallica last night
- 49:27they did. On the plus side, Metallica did
- 49:30play well. But on the plus side, Metallica
- 49:32Saved My Life had its debut at the Mill Valley Film Festival
- 49:36earlier this week. And hopefully soon we're going
- 49:39to get a wide release and a video on demand.
- 49:42I hope it's coming before the end of the year because I really
- 49:45want to see this fucking thing. The friendly man is here.
- 49:48What's up? What's up?
- 49:49What's up, LA woman? Good news, some good news.
- 49:53Finally, Charlie Benonte and Carla Harvey finally tied the
- 49:56knot in Las Vegas this week. Gene Simmons married them fresh
- 50:00off in his car accident. I'm Gene Simmons.
- 50:02I hate to think of what he charged them to get married, but
- 50:04they love Gene and they love Kiss.
- 50:06And I'm sure they're all bumming today because they love Kiss so
- 50:09much. And the wedding look cool.
- 50:12The photos look cool. Charlie and Carla are adorable.
- 50:15They make music together with her project.
- 50:17She's also in Lords of Acid and her band The Violet Hour.
- 50:21And obviously Charlie has Anthrax with a new Anthrax
- 50:23record coming out, probably a Pantera live album coming out
- 50:26with this current iteration of Pantera with Zach Mazel Tov and
- 50:31All the Best to the Benantes. Rob Zombie did announce his new
- 50:36album, The Great Satan with the most boring ass fucking artwork
- 50:40I've seen in a pretty dull song. But you know, Rob Zombie fans,
- 50:43if you're a fan, you kind of know what you're going to get.
- 50:45You know, Hoobajou, Godzilla, Bamba Lamb, Black Betty, Bamba
- 50:50Lamb. Yeah, that's every fucking White
- 50:53Zombie song and Rob Zombie song. But I love White Zombie.
- 50:57Rob Zombie not as good, but anyway, good for Rob Zombie.
- 51:00Another interview I will probably never get.
- 51:02Let's talk about this. This is a big story in the last
- 51:05week, Andrew Lee of the San Jose death metal band ripped to
- 51:08shreds. This was a story we started to
- 51:11talk about this last week where there was a death metal festival
- 51:15in Illinois. We talked about it because all
- 51:17the bands dropped off like within a few days of it.
- 51:19Most of them international couldn't afford to get the visas
- 51:22here or wouldn't granted their visas.
- 51:24A lot of them were sketchy but I didn't focus on that.
- 51:26I focused on the hey if I paid to go to a festival in like 3
- 51:29days before the festival 60% of the lineup dropped, I'd be
- 51:33fucking mad. And the rest of my brethren in
- 51:36the music world dunked on them and I felt bad.
- 51:39But anyway. Anyway, Andrew was supposed to
- 51:47play with Master at Gilman Street, which is basically the
- 51:51CBG VS of Berkeley. It's a legendary punk venue.
- 51:54I've gone there a bunch of times.
- 51:55I saw better lovers there, almost got my head handed to me.
- 51:58I've done some karaoke there. I have a Berkeley membership
- 52:00card, Gilman membership card. I always dreamed of coming,
- 52:05living here and going to that place to see shows.
- 52:07And I fucking did it. I made my dreams come true in
- 52:10multiple ways. And he dropped off the Master
- 52:15show because Master did not drop off the show with a bunch of,
- 52:19you know, sketchy, fucked up fans, racist fans.
- 52:22So there was a debate about this.
- 52:25Gilman has not commented on it. He called everybody out.
- 52:28People were angry at him a lot. He gave a very cogent,
- 52:33intelligent response in this personal video.
- 52:36The full video is on his YouTube.
- 52:38There's a smaller video. I wouldn't mind talking to
- 52:40Andrew or, you know, one of us here at Ghost called talking to
- 52:43Andrew about this. He made a long case about
- 52:45American, Asian, you know, racist racism, America's racist
- 52:50history in general, America's racist history toward Asian
- 52:53Americans and the racism he himself has faced and called
- 52:56out. And, you know, it led to a
- 52:59pretty interesting debate on our socials because I posted about
- 53:01it. I posted a question like, you
- 53:04know, do we have a racism problem?
- 53:06We clearly do and a lot. And he felt like even other
- 53:09Asian American artists don't talk enough about it.
- 53:12And maybe they should. Let me know what you think in
- 53:13the comments. Speaking of Iron Maiden, we
- 53:18talked about this having an anniversary recently.
- 53:20Live After Death is getting a deluxe remaster.
- 53:23It's Iron Maiden's 50th anniversary.
- 53:25There's so many cool shit things happening, tours and album
- 53:30reissues and this coffee table book that got out.
- 53:32So there's a cool picture of Steve Harris for no reason.
- 53:34There's an Iron Maiden coloring book that's coming out.
- 53:37They've had a series of those actually from a British company.
- 53:40Adult coloring books. So pretty cool.
- 53:42Not like adult coloring books, but coloring books for adults.
- 53:45Punctuation matters. Phrasing we showed you.
- 53:49We talked last week about Tobias of Ghost backing up his favorite
- 53:53Swedish pop rock artist in Linkoping, where they're from.
- 53:58No make up, just Tobias soloing and smiling.
- 54:02Lot of fun. What a fun guy.
- 54:04This is pretty cool and terrible at the same time.
- 54:07Aftershock is notorious for in Sacramento which I did not go to
- 54:12this year but hopefully next year will be the year I get back
- 54:14there. Aftershock is known as a place
- 54:17where phones get robbed. Aftershock is a place that's too
- 54:19dusty and dirty and people get sick.
- 54:22And listen man, if people are crowd serving anybody, I
- 54:28understand you might touch a butt or you might touch a leg or
- 54:32you might touch somebody's boob. If they're fucking swimming,
- 54:36you're a fun guy. This this guy dressed up as
- 54:39Ronald McDonald. Like if you're going to fucking
- 54:41grope crowd servers and harass, sexually harass people, maybe
- 54:45not be dressed up as Ronald McDonald at a festival because
- 54:48they found him like that, cut his bracelet off, ejected him.
- 54:53I only urge people to come forward.
- 54:55No one had really like accused him directly.
- 54:57It was just hearsay or I saw him do it.
- 55:00But if he if you've been an aftershock or whatever and you
- 55:04know who this person is, yes, it's not ratting.
- 55:07Come forward and tell the cops because he can be prosecuted.
- 55:11Dress up like Pete headset. I mean Pete headset is a normal
- 55:14white. He is every average white guy.
- 55:19I got to tell you, everybody that ever kicked my ass my whole
- 55:21life was a boring white guy. All right, anyway, so at least
- 55:25some justice was done. He was kicked out of the fest.
- 55:27Thank you, Danny Wilmer, thank you.
- 55:28Security again talked about BNB Nation for some touring.
- 55:33Revocations new albums out now. I have a new interview running
- 55:35on Monday with Revocation. They're on tour right now.
- 55:38Absolutely one of the best death metal albums of the year out on
- 55:41Metal Blade. Very excited about all these new
- 55:43things. And again, I talked about this a
- 55:45little last week, you know, don't get mad.
- 55:47Record labels are going to record label Orner Shore's on
- 55:50Century media just like you're owned by Sony, just like believe
- 55:55now owns nuclear blast and and Warner Brothers and Electra are
- 55:59owned by you know, and Roadrunner is owned by Warner
- 56:02Brothers. So these big bands are going to
- 56:04promote Grammy consideration. Don't like Lawrence Shore is not
- 56:09a sellout band. They have unexpectedly broken
- 56:13due to the mainstream, which I think is fucking incredible.
- 56:16Green Purple Unicorn is here. But you know, like don't
- 56:21begrudge them. This is what the labels are
- 56:23trying to do. They're trying to promote their
- 56:24bands because getting a Grammy, even nominated is a bump in your
- 56:28screens and helps your band. So they're just doing normal
- 56:31record industry things. The Medal is not supposed to get
- 56:34a Grammy. Metal people have been getting a
- 56:36Grammy since Jethro Tull. Motherfuckers get get into it.
- 56:40Jethro Tull, the greatest metal band we know.
- 56:43I almost done here. I read a review.
- 56:47So last week we told you about Erwan having this goth Sunday
- 56:51smoothie from Billy Corgan. I don't know why he's claiming
- 56:54goth when he was goth for like 5 minutes.
- 56:57But one of my favorite writers ever is Dan Ozzy.
- 57:00He Co wrote such books as Sell Out and the major label feeding
- 57:06frenzy of Pop punk and tranny with Laura Jane Grace of Against
- 57:10Me. And he just blogged about how
- 57:12horrible it was. He he paid like $25 for it and
- 57:16it was disgusting. Awesome.
- 57:19Fucking awesome. All right, let's just normalize
- 57:22this picture of Nick Cage and his son Weston, the black metal
- 57:25kid for no reason. Yeah, yeah.
- 57:29Wes was telling me about what Tane and cradle filth.
- 57:33I love them so much. You could just imagine Cage just
- 57:36going in on how much he loves to attain an emperor.
- 57:42Discord was hacked this week. This is one of my favorite
- 57:44channels. You know, top music attorney, a
- 57:48lawyer reacts. She does a lot of these and
- 57:51she's been talking about, you know, why you shouldn't be on
- 57:55Spotify anymore and what and Discord got hacked.
- 57:58So like go change your password on Discord immediately.
- 58:01I did it already follow her channel.
- 58:04All right, really quick. Let's do the new music Friday
- 58:06when you get the fuck out of here really quick because I'm
- 58:15kind of over today, not going to lie.
- 58:20OK, here are the new albums coming out for October 17th,
- 58:242025. Band name, album title, record
- 58:30label if there is one, and maybe a little bit of minutiae if I
- 58:35know it. 84 Tigers, Nothing Ends.

- 58:40Spartan Records. Age of Ruin.

- 59:04progressive metal. Power metal, Steel bound.
- 59:07We just ran that review on Nuclear Blast Records, Boris
- 59:10Reissues, Drone Evil and Pink coming soon on Relapse Records.
- 59:15I hope to get copies of those. Maybe I'll bring some content
- 59:18here. Very underrated and excellent.
- 59:20Karach. I'm grand the Cult of Khaliba EP
- 59:23on season amidst and amazing black metal Computers Kill
- 59:28people The storyteller on Colonel Panic records.
- 59:30I think that's punk. Coroner the great thrash metal
- 59:33band is back. Oh yes, Old Skull was very good.
- 59:38Don hot dog. Hell, you're so silly.
- 59:40Old Skull was fun. Coroner new album Dissonance
- 59:43theory. You got to review that.
- 59:44Also Daedric has the light left on fixed records for some
- 59:48industrial EDMEBM music. Dear Forbidden subtitled
- 59:55Disfigurement and Brio on Nefarious Industries, so clever
- 59:59that name evoken great death. Doom band Mendacium on Profound
- 1:00:04lore. I have an interview coming up
- 1:00:05with that band. Let's see.
- 1:00:07Geobia XA on on Heavy Sounds for some psychedelic rock that you
- 1:00:12would probably love. Don Grave Ripper from Welkin to
- 1:00:15Tundra on Wise Blood Records for some Stoner doom hellbearer.
- 1:00:18Dr. Fates for some heavy metal High on wheels Monkey.
- 1:00:22On Clonosphere record for some Prague internal bleeding.
- 1:00:25The legendary Queens in Long Island death metal band Settle
- 1:00:29all scores on Maggot Stomp records.
- 1:00:31Cool name reference there. Obituary song name check right.
- 1:00:36Let's see. Calpang destroyer of world on
- 1:00:39morbid subcultural records. I interviewed them a long time
- 1:00:41ago. Meteora named clearly for the
- 1:00:44Linkin Park album Broken Mind EP on H Music Moon destroys.
- 1:00:49This is 1 Dawn for you. She walks by Moonlight.
- 1:00:52Great album title for a Kiss song re release on Blues Funeral
- 1:00:56Records. Let's see.
- 1:00:57What else? Paslin Canton's new solo album
- 1:01:01formerly of a Perfect Circle and Pixie's Triste on Hideous Human
- 1:01:04Records, which is her own label. She owns Pyre, Inexorable,
- 1:01:09Inexorable Prepotenance. All right, Sabaton.
- 1:01:14New album legends, Better noise music.
- 1:01:16Anybody else a Sabaton fan? I like them, but I don't listen
- 1:01:19to them all the time at home. You know?
- 1:01:21If I see them live, it's fun. New metal from Atlanta.
- 1:01:25Silly goose. What the fuck is up?
- 1:01:26Denny's not that bad, but what the fuck is up?
- 1:01:29Subway. That's those guys.
- 1:01:30Keys to the city on Blue. Great music films, great black
- 1:01:34and death metal and post punk. A little feral darkness on
- 1:01:37redefining darkness. Tribal gaze.
- 1:01:40Invading brilliance on nuclear blast.
- 1:01:42Oh wait of sleep. The abyss into which we all have
- 1:01:44to stare on oral music and Wretched decay, Wretched decay,
- 1:01:52Metal Blade Records. That is all your new music.
- 1:01:54Friday. I am not doing a mailbag.
- 1:01:58This hat is my mailbag. I got this at the show because I
- 1:02:01couldn't get a Dark Angel vinyl. Pissed, but OK, I'm still going
- 1:02:04to order it, but fucking annoyed.
- 1:02:06But yeah, this is my new sacred right, Cat.
- 1:02:08This is my 1, you know, But I bought a few stickers and things
- 1:02:11like that. They're in my bag outside.
- 1:02:13But anyway, that's the show. What a fucking just a fucking
- 1:02:17bleach fucking time. I had such a good week.
- 1:02:20Until today. I'm going to continue to try to
- 1:02:23have a good weekend. As I say every week at this
- 1:02:27junction of the show, it's a tough time in the world, so
- 1:02:28please take care of yourselves, take care of each other, stay
- 1:02:33metal as possible. I am not in a mood to dance a
- 1:02:35jig, so I'm just going to do the Ace freely from Kiss Meets the
- 1:02:40Phantom of the Park. Rest in power space man.
- 1:02:43We love you. We will always love you.
- 1:02:45From my hometown, the Bronx, I will be on tomorrow to do a live
- 1:02:48stream about Ace's life and work and why he matters.
