  Real hope, real life. Have you ever been really
• 0:15
  excited about something, only to feel that excitement drain away
• 0:19
  when it didn't turn out how you expected?
• 0:22
  Maybe you put your hope in a relationship that faded, a goal
• 0:25
  you didn't reach, or a plan that completely fell apart.
• 0:30
  That kind of disappointment can leave you guarded, even cynical,
• 0:33
  wondering if it's safer not to hope at all.
• 0:36
  But God never meant for hope to be fragile or temporary.
• 0:40
  He designed real hope to give life.
• 0:42
  Proverbs chapter 10, verses 27 to 28 speak straight into this.
• 0:48
  It tells us that the fear of the Lord prolongs life and that the
• 0:51
  hope of the righteous brings joy while the expectation of the
• 0:55
  wicked perishes. In other words, where you place
• 0:58
  your hope determines what kind of future you experience.

  Hope rooted in temporary things eventually runs out, but hope
• 1:06
  rooted in God produces joy that doesn't depend on circumstances.

  Then in Acts chapter 17, Paul is speaking to people who had
• 1:15
  filled their lives with ideas, philosophies, and beliefs, yet
• 1:19
  we're still searching for meaning.
• 1:21
  He delivers a clear and loving challenge in Acts chapter 17,
• 1:25
  verse 30. He says that God now commands
• 1:28
  all people everywhere to repent. That word repent isn't about
• 1:31
  shame. It's about turning.
• 1:34
  Turning away from empty pursuits, turning toward the God
• 1:38
  who gives real life. Paul is saying God is calling
• 1:41
  you to stop settling for lesser hopes.
• 1:43
  He's inviting you into something better, something lasting,
• 1:47
  something alive. Real hope isn't pretending
• 1:50
  everything is fine. It's trusting God even when
• 1:53
  things are. It's anchoring your heart in
• 1:55
  truth when emotions fluctuate. It's choosing to believe that
• 1:59
  God's way leads to life, even when the world offers louder,
• 2:03
  flashier alternatives. This matters because what you
• 2:06
  hope and shapes how you live. If your hope is in people,
• 2:10
  you'll always fear losing them. If your hope is in success,
• 2:14
  you'll never feel like you've done enough.
• 2:16
  If your hope is an approval, you'll constantly adjust
• 2:19
  yourself to fit expectations. But when your hope is in God,
• 2:22
  joy becomes steady, Peace becomes possible.
• 2:25
  Life becomes meaningful. God's call to turn toward Him is
• 2:30
  deeply personal. It's an invitation to stop
• 2:33
  wasting energy on what can't satisfy and to discover the joy
• 2:37
  that comes from walking with Him.
• 2:39
  Real hope doesn't disappoint because it's rooted in who God
• 2:42
  is, not in what you can control. You don't have to give up on
• 2:46
  hope. You just need to place it in the
• 2:48
  right place. When your hope is in God, it
• 2:51
  doesn't fade, it grows and it leads you into real life.
• 2:55
  Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
• 2:57
  offering me a hope that doesn't fade or disappoint.
• 3:01
  Help me to recognize where I've placed my hope in temporary
• 3:04
  things and gently turn my heart back to You.
• 3:07
  Teach me to trust You fully and to build my life on what truly
• 3:10
  lasts. Fill me with joy that comes from
• 3:13
  knowing You and give me courage to follow your call with my
• 3:16
  whole heart in Jesus name, Amen. What if the way you pray changed
• 3:21
  because you truly knew who God is?

  When they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue.

  Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that

  Many of them therefore believed also of the prominent Greek

  women, and not a few men. But when the Jews of

  As he saw the city full of idols, so he reasoned in the

  Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also were

  conversing with him. Some said, What does this

  babbler want to say? Others said He seems to be

  advocating foreign deities because he preached Jesus and

  the resurrection. They took hold of him and
• 7:19
  brought him to the Areopagus, saying, May we know what this
• 7:22
  new teaching is which you are speaking about?
• 7:24
  For you bring certain strange things to our ears.
• 7:27
  We want to know, therefore, what these things mean.
• 7:30
  Now all the Athenians and the strangers living there spent
• 7:33
  their time and nothing else but either to tell or to hear some
• 7:36
  new thing. Paul stood in the middle of the
• 7:38
  Areopagus and said, You men of Athens, I perceive that you are
• 7:42
  very religious in all things. For as I passed along and
• 7:45
  observed the objects of your worship, I also found an altar
• 7:48
  with this inscription to an unknown God.
• 7:51
  What therefore you worship in ignorance?
• 7:53
  I announced to you the God who made the world and all things in
• 7:56
  it. He, being Lord of heaven and
• 7:59
  earth, doesn't dwell in temples made with hands.

  He isn't served by men's hands as though he needed anything,
• 8:05
  seeing He Himself gives to all life and breath and all things.

  He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all
• 8:12
  the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons and
• 8:16
  the boundaries of their dwellings, that they should seek
• 8:18
  the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for Him and find Him,
• 8:22
  though He is not far from each one of us.
• 8:24
  For in Him we live, move, and have our being, as some of your
• 8:28
  own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.
• 8:31
  Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the
• 8:34
  divine nature is like gold, or silver, or stone, engraved by
• 8:38
  art and design of man. The times of ignorance,
• 8:41
  therefore God overlooked. But now He commands that all
• 8:45
  people everywhere should repent, because He has appointed a day
• 8:48
  in which He will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom
• 8:51
  he has ordained, of which he has given assurance to all men, in
• 8:55
  that he has raised him from the dead.

  Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some

  mocked, but others said, we want to hear you again concerning
• 9:03
  this. Thus Paul went out from among
• 9:05
  them, but certain men joined with him and believed, including
• 9:09
  Dionysius the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris and others
