- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:45Hi, Adam here. And in this hypnosis recording,
- 0:48you're going to be listening to an entrepreneurial hypnosis
- 0:52session. And I was working with a client
- 0:55that had a long term job that worked in a particular company
- 1:00for more than eight years. And they didn't really want to
- 1:03stand this job anymore. And they were torn between the
- 1:07idea of just getting another job that they probably wouldn't like
- 1:10or becoming. Self-employed.
- 1:13Now part of them really wanted to be self-employed.
- 1:16But they were. Sabotaging themselves.
- 1:18They were doing research, they were thinking about it, but they
- 1:20weren't actually doing the things that would make progress
- 1:24in this area of self-employment. And for them, they had this
- 1:28incredible idea of AI automation and technology, and they had a
- 1:33background in text, so they understood how to do this kind
- 1:35of stuff. But.
- 1:37They weren't actually making progress and they had a period
- 1:41of around about two months in which to make a decision as to
- 1:46what they were going to do. With their.
- 1:47Career and you can think of this two months as almost like a
- 1:50runway to use an aeroplane analogy and what we do in this
- 1:55hypnosis session is an element of metaphor to pace all of the
- 2:00chaos and uncertainty that they were going through with a a lake
- 2:04and with the weather and then. Two bridges.
- 2:07That actually crossover this lake, representing 2 different
- 2:12versions of them. The.
- 2:14Version of them that would continue with the status quo and
- 2:16just do what they were doing, which was think a lot about it,
- 2:19but not really do what was required to make progress.
- 2:22And then the second future as a glass bridge actually represents
- 2:27this ability to think of what would it be like if they won a
- 2:31contract to build something for a specific client and then they
- 2:36just did that thing for the next two months.
- 2:39And why that's important is that it shifts them from thinking
- 2:42about being a business owner to actually being a business owner
- 2:46doing what it would take to be a business owner.
- 2:49Knowing that all of that experience and momentum and
- 2:52knowledge they would get, even if there wasn't actually a
- 2:55client to hire them, would still make that a more desirable
- 2:59pathway than just tinkering around and not really making
- 3:02progress. So if you've had a dream of
- 3:06being self-employed, you want to be your own boss, I think you'll
- 3:09get value from this session. If you like the idea of a
- 3:13bespoke session, I'm going to have a link to a free
- 3:17consultation call. You can book that.
- 3:18We can have a chat on Zoom free for 30 minutes.
- 3:21I'm also going to have a different link to a free trial
- 3:24to something very exciting, which I'm calling the Hypnotist
- 3:28Secret Circle, and I've been planning on launching this for
- 3:31ages. It's now officially launched and
- 3:34you have a free trial of up to 14 days and this is a a vault
- 3:38and archive of every single hypnosis recording I've I've
- 3:41ever done. But it comes without the intros,
- 3:45without the outros, without my explanations.
- 3:48It's just the actual hypnosis recording.
- 3:50So if every now and then you get frustrated with that little
- 3:53branding at the beginning and me doing all this talking before
- 3:56the hypnosis starts and you're thinking why doesn't he just get
- 3:59straight to the hypnosis? Well, now you can access just
- 4:02the hypnosis by being a member of the hypnotists secret circle.
- 4:07So I'm going to put a link there in the description.
- 4:09Check it out. It's a completely free trial.
- 4:12If you like it, then you can continue and if you don't, you
- 4:14can cancel. But check that out and that's
- 4:16got lots of information that explains more about it.
- 4:18So check that out there. For now though, if there is even
- 4:21a tiny bit of an entrepreneur within you, I think you'll get
- 4:25some value out of this session. So find a quiet, comfortable
- 4:28place where you won't be disturbed, relax and enjoy the
- 4:32session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 5:11you breathe in, breathe in and slow, long, relaxing breath.
- 5:20And as you exhale, allow all the tension in your eyelids to feel
- 5:26like it's melting away. Feel the tension leaving your
- 5:31body like a wave of relaxation is rippling from your eyelids
- 5:39all the way down your body. Breathing in a resourceful
- 5:44feeling of calm and relaxation. And as you exhale, feel that
- 5:53wonderful sense of release, the tension is being released in
- 6:01your outward breath. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 6:06more relaxed you become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 6:12the deeper you breathe. And I wonder if you can notice
- 6:23that as your body starts to relax, your imagination starts
- 6:31to awaken. And I wonder if you could
- 6:37imagine an incredible lake. We're not talking about a small
- 6:45pond. We're talking about a large,
- 6:53majestic, impressive lake. But I don't want you to imagine
- 7:02being by the side of that lake on a sunny day with calm waters.
- 7:10I want you to imagine being by the side of that lake on a day
- 7:18with grey Moody skies, turbulent waters, a wind, and perhaps the
- 7:33clouds, the wind and the waves represent uncertainty, change
- 7:45things that aren't quite right. But as you stand by the side of
- 7:52that lake, I want you to feel that you are breathing in
- 7:59resilience. And as you exhale, feel that you
- 8:06are releasing any feeling of uncertainty because it occurs to
- 8:16you, the tallest, strongest trees are not the trees that
- 8:26grew surrounded by blue skies and sunshine.
- 8:32The tallest, strongest trees are the trees that weathered the
- 8:39fiercest storms. And I want you to get a sense
- 8:45that a difficult period that you've been experiencing hasn't
- 8:51broken you, hasn't damaged you, hasn't eroded you, it has simply
- 9:01made you stronger. Adversity creates strength.
- 9:10Because if you go to the gym and lift easy light weights, it may
- 9:18feel beneficial, but there is no benefit.
- 9:26It's the heavy, difficult weights that lead to progress.
- 9:35I want you to get a sound that somewhere you can come to the
- 9:40conclusion that even if something is undesirable, it can
- 9:46still be beneficial. I want you to start framing a
- 9:56toxic boss, a difficult working environment, lack of clarity and
- 10:06certainty for the future as the kind of adversity that years
- 10:14from now, you will welcome be grateful for, for two reasons.
- 10:24One. What if it?
- 10:28Led to you becoming mentally stronger, more resilient.
- 10:37That mindset of nothing will break me.
- 10:44But secondly, what if it was what you needed to create a
- 10:53magnificent change? Feel that you're planting a seed
- 11:04of an idea, and we can call this idea the Beta Region paradox.
- 11:15I want you to think of a fictitious person in an unhappy
- 11:21relationship. They know it's not the right
- 11:26relationship, but they stay in that relationship anyway.
- 11:33And then one day they discover that their partner has betrayed
- 11:38them, and because of that, they finally end the relationship.
- 11:49And then weeks or months later, they find someone new, the kind
- 11:55of relationship that they can be happy in.
- 12:00The essence of the beta region paradox is this.
- 12:05Sometimes something has to be so undesirable that it becomes the
- 12:14catalyst for change, for something incredible.
- 12:21So imagine looking at then volatile lake, the Gray skies,
- 12:29the wind, but feel that you're breathing in resourcefulness and
- 12:35exhaling feelings of stress, worry and anxiety.
- 12:41Consider this a transfusion, breathing in what your body
- 12:46needs and exhaling those unresourceful feelings.
- 12:56And with each breath the clouds go from dark grey to white and
- 13:04then clear skies. The wind goes from gusts and
- 13:10gales to a light breeze to nothing, and the waves on the
- 13:19surface of the lake go from large waves that would topple a
- 13:24boat to small waves that would just make it Bob up and down to
- 13:31completely Stillwater. If you could imagine now that
- 13:38same lake being a still lake, the blue skies and sunshine let
- 13:46me know by nodding your head. That's it.
- 13:53As you allow the lake to feel like it represents your inner
- 14:00state, calm, resourceful and still.
- 14:10Continue to breathe in the resources and exhale the
- 14:13unresourceful sensations as you start to imagine two glass
- 14:25bridges that cross the lake, strong enough to stand and walk
- 14:31upon, but taking you in two different directions.
- 14:39I want you to get a sense that these are pathways to your
- 14:44future, that you can start walking over those glass
- 14:51walkways and bridges, seeing the still lake underneath you,
- 14:58knowing that it's a representation of moving
- 15:00forwards in time to your future. And the first walkway, well,
- 15:09that would be holding on to these unresourceful feelings
- 15:18that would be following the status quo.
- 15:20These patterns of second guessing, flitting from idea to
- 15:27idea to idea. This is being busy but non
- 15:35productive, still occupying time but not putting that time to
- 15:41use. And imagine walking across that
- 15:46glass bridge two months into the future and observe that version
- 15:56of you that two months from now has been busy researching lots
- 16:04but achieved very little version of you.
- 16:08Doesn't feel that they have any more choices or options than
- 16:11they did before. Still feeling vulnerable,
- 16:18dependent. And if you get a sense then this
- 16:26is a future you'd like to avoid. Let me know by nodding your
- 16:29head. What is unavoidable is the point
- 16:37in time, because that two months will surely come.
- 16:43The only question is which version of you arrives at that
- 16:49point in time? The version of you that is
- 16:55dependent, vulnerable, uncertain, or a version of you
- 17:03that has momentum, clarity, determination.
- 17:12So I want you to imagine that second bridge made of glass.
- 17:20And let's have a thought experiment right at the
- 17:26beginning of a bridge. I want you to imagine.
- 17:32Imagine there is a senior decision maker at a major
- 17:38company and they are asking if you are able to take on a
- 17:48specific project. The kind of project that would
- 17:54save them time and money. The kind of project that would
- 17:59need technology to do something that humans are currently doing,
- 18:07or perhaps old technology that is inefficient.
- 18:14I want you to imagine there is an amount they are willing to
- 18:18pay if you can complete this project in the next two months.
- 18:28And that number is a big number, the kind of number that you
- 18:34would be easily able to justify giving all of your time, energy,
- 18:41attention and emotions to pursue this project.
- 18:52But you don't have to take this project on.
- 18:57You could cross the other bridge, doing things in your own
- 19:01way, on your own time, hoping that an epiphany will pop into
- 19:08your head like a Eureka moment. Or you could take this project
- 19:16lift. Taking the project with the
- 19:19payoff and the challenge seems more desirable.
- 19:23Let me know by nodding your head.
- 19:30But before you start crossing that bridge, I want you to think
- 19:35what version of you do you need to be to successfully implement
- 19:41this project? Your mannerisms, your
- 19:49determination, your focus, your work ethic.
- 19:55And I want you to imagine that version of you is standing.
- 20:00Right at the beginning of that glass bridge.
- 20:06And know that this version of you already exists within you.
- 20:13That's how you're able to think of this version of you, because
- 20:16it is still you. And if you're willing to step
- 20:23into that version of you, let me know by nodding your head.
- 20:30Then step into that version of you, leaving that indecisive
- 20:35version of you, uncertain version of you behind.
- 20:38Step into that focus, determined, relentless version
- 20:44of you. The version of you that works
- 20:49backwards, figuring out what needs to be done when, in what
- 20:56order. That version of you blocks out
- 21:00time, any distractions kept far away.
- 21:08And as you start to cross the bridge, I want you to get a
- 21:11feeling of what it would feel like day one of this project.
- 21:17Feel the enthusiasm as it feels like you're already working for
- 21:24yourself. You're not an employee.
- 21:31You have won this contract. They are not your boss, they are
- 21:36your client. You are working for you.
- 21:42On behalf of this client, I want you to feel how good it feels.
- 21:53You set your agenda. You set your priorities, but
- 21:58notice a willingness to do that, to be diligent, hard working,
- 22:06focused with your eye firmly on the prize.
- 22:13It has to deliver certain key things, but day after day you
- 22:21dedicate your time to doing those things and you notice
- 22:26progress. And there are some setbacks.
- 22:29But even this setbacks give you wisdom, a feedback loop to
- 22:34improve the proposition. Day after day, week after week,
- 22:41you're making progress. And maybe there's the occasional
- 22:47meeting where you present progress and development, but
- 22:52you are the lead. Imagine getting to the end of
- 22:59the bridge and then presenting. Presenting what you've created
- 23:07to the client and it delivering on every single one of those
- 23:12metrics. The client is delighted.
- 23:17They pay their invoice in full. But here's the interesting
- 23:22thing. The client has the product, but
- 23:27you have all of the intellectual property related to that
- 23:31product. And if this client would
- 23:35benefit, maybe other similar businesses would also benefit.
- 23:43You've got the money, the experience, the wisdom, and the
- 23:49intellectual property. And I want you to come to the
- 23:54conclusion that even if the money wasn't there, this was
- 23:59still a bridge worth crossing because the intellectual
- 24:04property built you that minimal viable product.
- 24:11It turned inertia into momentum. It turned an intention into a
- 24:21test drive. You were already living the role
- 24:29of being self-employed. Not one day, someday, you were
- 24:35experiencing it. And if this feels like a more
- 24:39desirable way to get to that future point in time, let me
- 24:43know by nodding your head. And all it requires is to turn a
- 24:52thought experiment into a project and to act as if you
- 24:59already have your very first client.
- 25:03Because in doing so, you turn that intention into reality
- 25:11immediately. It's time to leave this place.
- 25:20But you leave this place taking a new way of thinking about
- 25:24things. What once was daunting now feels
- 25:29exciting. You feel that you are unleashing
- 25:33all of the enthusiasm necessary to take the very first step.
- 25:43So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 25:48nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 25:52your toes. That's it.
- 25:53Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 25:58from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 26:02Starting to count 123 Waking up 456.
- 26:08More alert 7-8 Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
- 26:13Wide awake, Wide awake. Wide awake.
