- 0:08Sean McAllister: He's seeing a lot of silver and black now with a new collaboration in the pro football world.
- 0:15Dayna Roselli: We had a great time talking with him exclusively at his home.
- 0:19Dayna Roselli: Wait until you hear some of his stories, and we also chat about that new collaboration.
- 0:23Dayna Roselli: All coming up on Vegas Revealed.

- 1:03Dayna Roselli: We are back and it's time to talk Las Vegas.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: I'm Dana Roselli.
- 1:08Sean McAllister: And I'm Sean McAllister.
- 1:10Sean McAllister: And Dana, this is like the first time in a long time we've done the podcast not only face to face with each other, but also with our guest.
- 1:19Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:20Dayna Roselli: It's really cool.
- 1:21Dayna Roselli: I mean, we stopped by the Elvis Wedding Chapel.
- 1:23Dayna Roselli: Remember that Graceland?
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 1:25Dayna Roselli: That was quick, but we were very, very, you know, distant and kind of had to practice some different kinds of rules there.
- 1:30Dayna Roselli: And we did that uh when we stopped by Michael Goddard's house as well.
- 1:34Dayna Roselli: But it was just nice to kind of sit intimately for as long as we wanted and just chat.
- 1:39Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's definitely a different vibe seeing somebody in person rather than uh doing a conversation over Skype or Zoom.
- 1:48Sean McAllister: So we're excited that uh we're able to do that this week.
- 1:52Sean McAllister: And we're also excited because here in Las Vegas, the Mirage Resort is now back open for business.
- 1:59Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 1:59Dayna Roselli: You know, we talked about it last week, and right now we're actually recording on a Thursday, and this is actually the official day that the Mirage opened.
- 2:06Dayna Roselli: So we're seeing all the pomp and circumstance, and it's a lot of fun and exciting uh because it's always great to see pictures and videos of the dolphins that are at the habitat there at the Mirage.
- 2:19Sean McAllister: People love those dolphins.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: They do, and you know, some people kind of know about it, others don't.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: But I mean the dolphins are always there in the back of the Mirage, and then they have the Siegfried and Roy's secret garden with some of the animals too.
- 2:30Dayna Roselli: But um, you go and go back there and you can actually feed the dolphins, you can sign up for different kinds of experiences, you can watch them doing tricks.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: It's really cool.
- 2:38Sean McAllister: But judging from the responses on social media, uh, there's a lot of people who don't realize that the dolphins live at the mirage.
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: I guess not.
- 2:49Dayna Roselli: You and I were cracking up at this post that one of our local news organizations did, you know, that said they welcome back the dolphins.
- 2:55Dayna Roselli: Great pictures of the dolphins there hanging out, doing some tricks.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: And a bunch of people that must not live here in Las Vegas, it looks like they live out of town, are like, oh, so the dolphins actually live at the mirage?
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: Or, yeah, that's what I'm asking.
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: They live there, and it's like, yeah, yeah, they live there.
- 3:12Sean McAllister: Like, what the hell do you think?
- 3:13Sean McAllister: It's not like there's some dolphin playground out in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California, and they're they're not like bust in for the day.
- 3:22Sean McAllister: Of course they live there.
- 3:24Dayna Roselli: They do.
- 3:25Dayna Roselli: They live there.
- 3:26Sean McAllister: What do people think?
- 3:27Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 3:28Sean McAllister: They're not living in Lake Mead down by the Hoover Dam.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: A tunnel that goes underground and then leads them back to the coast of California for the weekend.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, yeah.
- 3:40Dayna Roselli: People people are funny, but you gotta think you gotta really think before you answer.
- 3:45Dayna Roselli: Um, which, you know, Twitter is a lot of just uh a lot of people not thinking before they respond to things anyway, right?
- 3:53Sean McAllister: That is the truth.
- 3:54Dayna Roselli: But the dolphins are great.
- 3:55Dayna Roselli: Did a story there just about a year ago, and you know, they take really good care of the dolphins, and I must admit, like when we went there, they were like, you know, be careful.
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: There's gonna be a lot of animal activists out there that are gonna respond to you and and be frustrated about the whole animals in captivity.
- 4:09Dayna Roselli: And and the only thing I can say to that is the experience there was that they were treated really well, and there's not just like one little pool, like it's a huge area that goes underneath and above, and there's a lot of room, and they seem to be treated really well, and it's a great experience about teaching about you know w water life, and that's the thing, is they have school groups through there that learn about all that stuff, marine life, and so it's a learning experience too.
- 4:39Sean McAllister: And another part about the Mirage reopening that's pretty cool is that they've renamed the street that leads from uh Las Vegas Boulevard, the strip, up to the front of the casino, and it is now Siegfried and Roy Drive.
- 4:54Sean McAllister: Of course, the Mirage is where Siegfried and Roy performed for years.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we recently lost Roy.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: It's been such a tough time, you know, during these times that we've been all suffering as well.
- 5:04Dayna Roselli: Um, Roy passed away a short time ago, and it's been hard on Siegfried and hard on the community that watched them just, you know, change the way shows were done.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: They were he they they made them big and spectacular and you know laid the groundwork for for magic and it just uh incredible, incredible duo that made such an impact in Las Vegas.
- 5:26Sean McAllister: Yeah, and uh Siegfried Fischbacher was out there for the the naming of uh this the street, Siegfried and Roy Drive out there.
- 5:36Sean McAllister: Um so it's it's nice to see that their legacy is even more cemented in uh Las Vegas history than it already was.
- 5:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:46Dayna Roselli: And we're happy to have another resort casino open because it means we're moving forward.
- 5:50Dayna Roselli: So uh again, the Mirage officially opened.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: Uh, as far as we know, no other planned openings on the strip.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: I did see that the Tropicana was supposed to open, I don't know if it was September 1, and that got pushed again to like September 15th or 19th or something like that.
- 6:05Dayna Roselli: So that's not gonna open uh for a little while, and we'll have to keep updated on that.
- 6:09Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:09Sean McAllister: And what do you say we just jump right into uh this week's interview, Dana?
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's gonna be a great conversation.
- 6:15Sean McAllister: Yeah, so Michael Goddard, he is the top-selling artist in all of the United States who also calls Las Vegas home.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: Goddard's art is instantly recognizable thanks to his wildly popular olive characters that are seen in most of his paintings.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: I guarantee you have seen or bought one of Michael Goddard's paintings.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: We are with him right now inside his Las Vegas home.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: Michael, thanks for having us over to your house.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: My pleasure, my pleasure, my secret lair.
- 6:44Dayna Roselli: I just love it.
- 6:45Dayna Roselli: How has quarantine been for you?
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: You know, it's really different.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: Um, a lot of times, uh most of the time I'm traveling, so it's nice to actually be homes that I can create.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: So any time of day, I can sort of get up.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: I set a studio up in my garage and and uh and uh have a lot of fun.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: But trying to, well, I bought some gym equipment, but I haven't really used it yet.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: But it's a beautiful decoration.
- 7:06Dayna Roselli: It is, it's nice to look at, you know?
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 7:09Sean McAllister: Well, and and quarantine has kind of uh presented some unique opportunities for you work-wise, and it's enabled you to really dive into the pro football world.
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's kind of uh it's it's kind of odd.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: Um, my uh when I first heard about the Raiders coming to Las Vegas, of course, I got really excited because they're gonna be right here in Vegas, and uh they had done the groundbreaking and all that, and I'd watched some of the episodes of From the Ground Up, which is super cool.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: And then I thought to myself, you know what, I want to be part of this somehow.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: So uh I went uh I made a an appointment uh with uh it's the best meeting I ever had because everybody in the room was named Mark, except for one person.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: So I had Mark with Dame, Mark Sher, Mark Davis, and uh sat in there and just said, you know, hey guys, I'd uh love to work with you.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: And uh, you know, if you need uh if you need help with anything at all artistically, that's what I do.
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: No, no money, nothing like that.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: I just want to be part of it and help you guys create the best uh best thing that I can.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: So uh I started doing some little projects uh for them uh over a few months, and uh they called me one day and said, Listen, um, we would love for you to uh consider curating the the art for the entire stadium, you know, handling uh everything from lighting, framing, the art.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, oh, okay, well that sounds good.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: I said, but you know, the obvious the obvious uh issue is that I'm traveling.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: And they go, Oh no, we're willing to work around your travel.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: So I looked at my wife, my jaw dropped, and I said, We can't pass this opportunity up.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: It's my chance to leave my footprint here.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: And then um, of course, COVID hit, and uh I've had nothing but time to really delve into it.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: And it's funny because had uh COVID not happened, then obviously I'd be out on cruise ships and would not have been able to spend the time that I needed to for something that's so epic and important.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: And uh so back uh I want to say seven, eight months ago, um uh they hired me on uh to uh to just kind of work with all their different uh uh people that from tour management to you know the community and uh all the things that are going in and out of the uh uh the stadium.
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: So basically I I'm I'm their interior decorator, we'll say.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, what pretty cool interior decorator.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, what an honor, right?
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: I told them it is like um working with the pharaohs of Egypt that you guys have built a pyramid.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: We know the stadium's gonna be here for hundreds of years and millions of people are gonna see it.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: There's 65,000 uh seat capacity, I believe.
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: And uh, you know, not only is it uh sporting events, uh or not just football, but it's uh obviously, you know, concerts and uh you know soccer tournaments and all kinds of uh not tournaments, but uh soccer uh events, just it's gonna be just uh epic.
- 9:48SPEAKER_02: So to be part of that is a thrill.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: Sometimes I can't sleep at night, and I'm just like, I can't I can't believe this is happening.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: I'm pinching myself.
- 9:55Sean McAllister: Well, and through this opportunity, not only are you leaving your mark on Las Vegas, but you're helping other Las Vegas artists do the same thing.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: We when I first sat down with uh with uh Mark Davis, uh he said, you know, God, let me kind of share what my vision is.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: So we talked for you know uh many hours, and uh it's really about the community.
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: It's absolutely about the community.
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: Everything about that stadium is and uh and it's uh it it it's just really nice to be able to have that sort of a focus that is gonna make it unique from all other stadiums.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: Um the art that's going in there, obviously we're pulling from local talent, and that's what is a really a big difference.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: Uh that uh that is gonna be something really cool to see.
- 10:37SPEAKER_02: And obviously, you have uh people that are coming from everywhere, they're gonna be coming from Europe, maybe it's their first football game, but it is Las Vegas.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: And uh I was telling someone the other day, I said, you know, even driving down the strip, you see the MM store in McDonald's and it's lit up like it's a neon casino.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: And that's the way we have to do it.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: So for me, it's a matter of trying to bring the absolute best uh that I possibly can because everyone's seen everything.
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: And so when you have the biggest, baddest stadium ever built in the world, like and it's Vegas, you know, from coming to a night's game, every hockey player uh wants to play in Vegas, all the fans, it is a show, and uh this will be no less than that.
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: It's gonna just gonna be incredible, people are gonna be blown away.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: And I think sometimes when you think football, football stadium, even the tickets, sometimes you know, art doesn't really cross your mind.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: I love how they're bringing art.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, I feel like it's a way to bring kind of everything together, you know.
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: I mean, people that are interested in all sorts of different things.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: So um with the ticket artists, um, uh every one of them is a uh a local artist, and uh some of the artists I found in Container Park or um uh the art district.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: Uh but we have an incredible pool of talent right here in Vegas.
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: Everyone who from people that show in galleries all over the place to people that are you know doing amazing graffiti art to decorate our downtown.
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: So it's uh it was exciting, especially to get them involved, somebody who never thought that uh that they would be uh get to you know be involved in that.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: So but that was also quite a process, yeah.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Because artists are a strange breed, as you probably imagine.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: So, you know, sometimes I I'm thinking, oh my gosh.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: So yeah, Goddard, how can you help my art career?
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: Well, let me see your business card.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: Well, what's that?
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay, that's where we're at.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: But you know, incredible talent.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: So um that's the that was the the first job that I had with them, really, was to uh help find some art to create the tickets, and uh Mark Davis's idea was to have every one of those tickets say something about the experience of living here in Vegas.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: Um the main focus of it is uh the new stadium, of course, so that's sort of the subject.
- 12:42SPEAKER_02: And um uh well, no, it is the subject, but different parts from other people's perspective, you know.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's uh a hundred ways that you can uh you know tell somebody something in arts the same way, and uh some really, really unique uh expression and uh visual uh well, you know me, I paint olives, that's ridiculous.
- 13:02Dayna Roselli: But you make them look so cool.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: Listen, and you were showing us some 3D layering things that you're doing.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: So this is this is this new for you or what kind of thing.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, I I I got my my hands and a lot of different uh uh pieces of pie.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: So I I have my own art, of course, which I sell to the cruise lines with my olives and all that stuff.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: I have another company um where we do the production for um uh artists and photographers like National Geographic.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: So I do all their printing for all their galleries.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: So it's amazing.
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: You walk into our office and you see uh a photograph that's you know 20 feet long that's somebody was in a tree for two months and took a picture of it.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: And then we have um another uh another business where we do laser cutting um on special materials uh for uh indie, which is uh really cool.
- 13:51SPEAKER_02: I also have another business that we print all the faces of uh slot machines, so a lot of the almost all the casinos that uh have slot machines here in town, uh we do all that stuff for them.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: Uh there's a bunch of stuff going on, yeah.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: But you know, when all this happened, uh, you know, February, March, uh we totally shifted gears.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: Obviously, the cruise line's not uh going very well.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: Um and uh you can't really get on a ship right now and feel safe.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: But um, so I shifted uh from sort of that sort of falling out, and then we took our laser cutters and we started making um uh COVID masks.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: So we made them for the city.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: I think we made uh a couple thousand for the fire department here, and uh, you know, it's kind of like the alcohol company switching over to sanitizer, right?
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: So that's uh yeah, but it's it's it's been fun.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: And and one of the uh the Max Art Productions uh basically takes uh hobbyists, photographers, artists, and they come in and we uh help them produce their artwork onto either metal or canvas or whatever.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: So I already had a pretty good pool of artists that I had access to, and uh so that was very helpful with the with the Raiders thing.
- 14:55unknown: Okay.
- 14:55Sean McAllister: And people have gotten their first glimpses of the art that you've curated.
- 15:01Sean McAllister: The season ticket holders got a pretty impressive delivery method for their season tickets.
- 15:07Sean McAllister: What's been the reaction you've heard so far?
- 15:10SPEAKER_02: Absolutely incredible.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: Um, I actually didn't know that they had been sent out.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: I was told and uh that they had been sent out, and all of a sudden um someone posted uh I think on Instagram, oh my gosh, Goddard, I love your your your ticket, your game ticket.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: I'm like, uh-huh.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 15:26SPEAKER_02: Um and uh and then someone else sent me a video and I watched them open the box.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: So you open up the box inside is a mini stadium.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, they went all out to do this uh for everyone, and uh and then I was like, wait, wait, wait, show me the other tickets.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: I want to see, you know, and uh first thing I did was uh talk to the other artists who we've been talking about it, kind of.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: It's like fight club.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: First roll of fight club, you don't talk about fight club.
- 15:50SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 15:51SPEAKER_02: So absolutely uh everyone signed a non-disclosure agreement um before even being considered to to uh do it because we wanted to let the Raiders share it in the way that you know uh you know that they wanted to.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: And um and uh so that happened.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: So um I I started looking at the at the tickets through these videos, and I did a couple like um uh screenshots off my phone.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: And then I called up the artist and said, Oh, I got something to show you.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: And literally, uh I would get a immediate, I get a phone call and they're crying on the phone.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, I can't believe this is happening.
- 16:23SPEAKER_02: I go, listen, me too, don't make me cry.
- 16:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: But you know, it's exciting when you think about uh the tickets, not only are they doing that, but um game day, there'll be uh uh posters, uh free posters of the ticket art as well as the program.
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: But the coolest thing about it is it's local local artists, except for one, Todd Morinovich, who is uh a Raiders alumni, he actually did some of the art as well.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: Wow, uh oh man, and and it's really different.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: It's so oh it's it's awesome stuff.
- 16:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I think it's especially obviously special this year because it's the first year, but also because a lot of the folks that have tickets can't actually go to the game.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: So to do this for them and make them still feel like thank you for getting the season tickets, we'll be back, we'll be bigger, we'll be stronger.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I'll tell you, rumor has it that these uh uh that the tickets uh and the box and and and all that are already skyrocketing through uh eBay because they're a huge collector's item.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: This is the inaugural uh inaugural year.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: And um the other thing that's really cool is uh when you visit the stadium, you'll be able to see the actual, excuse me, the actual paintings that were made to make those tickets.
- 17:27SPEAKER_02: And they're a labor of love.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: Uh when I um am doing something, this is how I explained it to the artist that said, you know, if I'm doing an album cover for someone, I said, I know it's gonna be seen by millions of people for probably 30 years.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: They're gonna download it on iTunes or whatever.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: So you slow things down a little bit.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: It's not like doing a logo for you know so-and-so's vacuum cleaner business.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: So all of the rest, I mean the artists were like stressing it, they're like, oh, is this okay?
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: Is this okay?
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: And um uh, you know, I kind of just uh wanted to give them as much freedom as possible and let their own uh you know emotions and feelings come through.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: But it's every artist bringing their absolute best.
- 18:03SPEAKER_02: I'm you know, even for me, um, you know, I have uh my art in galleries all over the place, and millions of people see my art every year.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: It's it's that and that's uh it's cool.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: But when you uh when you see the the ticket art, I mean that's gonna be seen by 65,000 people, you know, perhaps uh at every event.
- 18:21SPEAKER_02: You got 20 events a year, it's gonna be there for 10 years.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: So it's gonna be something really neat to see.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: And the artists are thrilled beyond belief.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: You know, me too.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: Me too.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: I'm excited.
- 18:30Sean McAllister: And is it like an ongoing partnership, like beyond the inaugural season?
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, so oops.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: Um, yes, so uh it is.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: Um I'm going to uh well we couldn't do everything this year because of uh uh uh the financial uh uh uh problems that uh that COVID has put on many businesses.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna be looking at it into next year too.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: But um, but it's gonna look well, it it's gonna be finished.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: Um but uh yeah, back to the ticket art.
- 18:59SPEAKER_02: Listen, it's it's still like fight club, so there's lots of exciting things that are coming uh that I really can't discuss yet.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: Well, we like that.
- 19:06Dayna Roselli: That means it's extra special.
- 19:08Dayna Roselli: When you can't say anything, you know it's good.
- 19:10SPEAKER_02: I I got this is so funny.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: So when I first meet Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, and Mark and Tom, uh I told them, I said, uh listen, I've got this design that I would love for you to look at.
- 19:21SPEAKER_02: And it's uh sort of you know uh the Raiders uh welcoming Las Vegas, vice versa.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: Really super cool piece.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: And so I showed it to them, and they're all super excited.
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, Goddard, I I we want to use this for our programs, for our tickets, and all this other stuff.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: We want to make t-shirts.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: And uh I go, awesome.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: They said, uh, have you shown it to anybody?
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: I go, you know what?
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: Only one person.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: And they go, can't use it.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: I'm a what?
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: And they go, we don't want anyone to know.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: We don't want the NFL, we don't want uh, we don't want to let the word uh get out to the news, anything.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: We really want to keep it hush-hush until we're ready because we have this master plan of uh getting all this local talent and we're gonna be doing some really fun things.
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: So I'm still kind of, you know, uh in quiet mode.
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: It's kind of weird, right?
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: You know, even when I when I've been allowed to talk about certain things, I'm like, uh am I allowed to say that?
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: But uh super, super, super uh excited because I think people are just gonna be uh blown away.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: Absolutely blown away.
- 20:15Dayna Roselli: And and how long have you lived here now?
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: Well, my history with Vegas goes way back.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: I lived in California, that's where I was born, but my grandparents, my grandfather worked here at the Nevada test site.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: So since the early 60s, uh I came out here as a toddler, and then uh eventually uh my my parents had split up.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: My mom stayed in California, my dad lived here, uh moved to Vegas, and uh I went to Clark High School.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: Uh later I went to UNLV, um, discovered something called gambling, and I got sent back to California.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: And uh and then I moved here uh permanently from California in 2003 um to make this uh my full-time home.
- 20:56SPEAKER_02: And that was mainly because we have such great tax benefits here.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: It's well that's what we were talking about.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: When you were walking us around the house and stuff, we were chatting about um obviously what a great place it is to live and make home, and also all the the other people that live here too.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: I mean, Vegas is a great town, tons of celebrities and performers, and and some of our listeners from around the world are always interested in that stuff.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: So I mean, I know you've got your kind of core group that you hang with here too.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: It it's it's fun, and I'll tell you, Dana, the um I I still get asked, so do they have grocery stores in in Las Vegas?
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: Do they have schools?
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: And well, yeah.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: Actually, what we do have, we have uh we have Lake Mead, we have Mount Charleston, we have any kind of activity you could think of at any time of day.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: Uh we are three hours from three and a half hours from LA, uh, five hours from the beach.
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, literally, it's just a a great town with everything.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: Great schools, you know.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't know.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: I I love love this town.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, love it, love it.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: I couldn't imagine being anywhere else.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: No, no, it's cool.
- 21:52Dayna Roselli: Do you have any do you have like what's like the uh and then this has always puts a lot on people because I'm asking you, but like what's one of the coolest stories?
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: Like if you could tell our listeners like something.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Just a cool Vegas moment for you over the years.
- 22:03Sean McAllister: I know it might take a minute to think, but I'm sure there's been many, but well, sift through them, I know, because you've had uh a million.
- 22:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, no, it's uh serve for a night out or a cool, I don't know, a lunch or a or something behind the scenes that maybe nobody would ever think of.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: I'll tell you a funny one.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: I'll tell you a funny one.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: So um I I'm uh one of my dear friends is Ozzy Osborne, right?
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: And so every time he comes to town, he or he and his assistant here and Sharon uh come by and visit.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: So he has a favorite restaurant that's over at the win, and uh went to a birthday party here and some other stuff.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: But anyway, so one night we are uh we're we're first we got together for lunch, and I'm with Sharon and uh their assistant Michael and Ozzy, and we're in the restaurant, and uh Ozzie says I want to get up to use the use the restroom.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: And I think his exact words were and uh anyway, so he gets up, and you know, five, six minutes later, you know, we see him walking in, and all of a sudden I hear Sharon, she's right next to me, and she yells, just like on the old TV show, Ozzie, you're sitting at the wrong beep table.
- 23:10SPEAKER_02: So then he comes back, he comes back, sits down, and he's exhausted because they had just done the show.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: And uh and I'm talking to him and he's falling asleep.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: I go, wow, am I exciting?
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: So Sharon leaves, so this is an epic day.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Sharon leaves, and um, and uh later that evening we have dinner together.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: And so it's just you know, Ozzy and I.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: And so we start to get up and and uh walk through the casino, and um, and oh, a couple people come up that wanted a picture during dinner, and I said, Listen, can you just wait?
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: I felt like I was his bodyguard.
- 23:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:44SPEAKER_02: You know, just just hold off a second.
- 23:46SPEAKER_02: So I said, you know, Ozzy, so tell me what it uh tell me what's that like for you.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: Do you know do you want to be bothered?
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: Should I be filtering these people?
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: He goes, you know what, Goddard?
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: He goes, every time I go out, I say to myself, I don't want one person to talk to me.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: Like I just want to be left alone.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: He goes, but if no one comes up and talks to me and asks for my autograph, I'm devastated.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: That makes sense.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: It's so true.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: That is such uh that makes complete sense.
- 24:08SPEAKER_02: So we walked, we're walking, uh walking him out uh uh to the uh or towards his room or whatever.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: And uh as we're walking, of course a fan comes running, oh my god, it's Ozzie Osbourne.
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: He goes, Ozzy, and he was exhausted.
- 24:19SPEAKER_02: He goes, Ozzy, can you can you take a picture with me?
- 24:22SPEAKER_02: And Ozzie goes, no, about tomorrow.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: And he said, Well, I'm not gonna be here tomorrow.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: He goes, Neither am I.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, goodness, goodness, and it was well, you know what else was really, really odd because uh he had uh he's had lots of shows here, but go to the concert, right?
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: And I'm in the green room with him, right, before the concert's about to start.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: And it's literally just him and I, right, chilling.
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: And uh he's on his little uh treadmill or whatever, you know, he's just staying in shape.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: And uh so it's all done, someone knocks on the okay, they're ready for you, right?
- 24:52SPEAKER_02: So then uh they take him out.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: I hear I hear the rumble of the crowd and all that.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: I I you know walk out to go watch the concert, and uh anyway, you know, there's 50,000 people there, and then afterwards you go back to the green room, and it is the weirdest thing because there's 50,000 people who would who are all screaming crazy, you know, and there's so much energy and so much excitement and all that, and then you walk into a room and it's just like a sitting here, it's quiet, right?
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: And you're like going, wait a minute, is that what what happens next?
- 25:21Sean McAllister: Like that was kind of like a yeah, yeah, it's a crazy world.
- 25:25Sean McAllister: I mean, being a rock star is I mean, it's a total dichotomy.
- 25:31Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:31Sean McAllister: Um, and I know that people who are are used to seeing you and have seen you before maybe surprised to see that you've cut your hair.
- 25:43Sean McAllister: You haven't always short hairdo.
- 25:45Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I know that that goes back to the beginning of the year, but yeah, since we've been on lockdown, it's very it's very different.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: Um I'll tell you, you know, it was kind of uh thank you very much.
- 25:56SPEAKER_02: Thank you very, very much.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, I've had long hair for forever, and I started growing my hair out uh for something called locks of love.
- 26:03SPEAKER_02: And we have a lot of uh a lot of involvement.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: I I people ask me what I do if they don't know who I am.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: I say I'm a philanthropist.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: That is what I do.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: It's the most important part of what I do.
- 26:12SPEAKER_02: So I'd grown long hair and I'd grow it out and then I'd donate to locks of love.
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: And um and then I was kind of like ready for a life change.
- 26:18SPEAKER_02: A lot of things were were going on in my life.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: I had gotten sober and um uh just just some big, big changes, and uh got married and and uh anyway, I I thought, you know what?
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: I I thought with my long hair and all that, I'm sort of personifying, you know, the rock star.
- 26:34SPEAKER_02: That's how I got labeled the rock star of the art world.
- 26:37SPEAKER_02: It was just because I had long hair and people always assumed I'm Nikki Six.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: I don't know, now I look like you know, uh Chris Kardashian.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: But uh but you know what I wanted to do?
- 26:47SPEAKER_02: I really honestly I I didn't just cut my hair short, I literally shaved my head bald.
- 26:52SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 26:53SPEAKER_02: And I wanted to humble myself, and I I told I told Leanne, I, you know, after getting sober, uh I thought to myself, you know, man, am I gonna be fun again?
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: Am I gonna be as romantic?
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: You know, all these weird things go through your head uh when in during uh getting um during sobriety.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: And so I had all these things attached to who I, you know, who I thought, I'm not even sure who I am.
- 27:16SPEAKER_02: And uh and it was a really, really good change, obviously, and and I'm still living, which is even better.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: Um but I wanted to do the same thing with the hair.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: It's like, you know, uh for 20 some years I've been the rock star of the art world, and I thought, you know, if I took away all the glitz, if I took away, you know, I mean, back in the day when uh and uh Chris uh Angel had his show on his stuff, we were all about wearing all the jewelry, all the diamonds that we had.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: That's what we that's it was a bling world.
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 27:42SPEAKER_02: We'd just come out of the you know, other generation where you know the the rappers and all that.
- 27:46SPEAKER_02: So I don't know, is it's that you just wear all your grandma's jewelry, right?
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: Like you're wearing everything.
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: It's cool, right?
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: And I really want to strip it down and say, you know what, I'm just gonna I'm just gonna be myself.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna hide behind, you know, will people still like my artwork if I don't look cool or whatever?
- 28:00SPEAKER_02: Whatever nonsense it was in my head.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: And uh it was it was really scary.
- 28:05SPEAKER_02: I mean, I had no idea how scary it is to just you know cut all your hair off.
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: And uh no, I'm I'm loving it.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: I'm much more relaxed, you know.
- 28:13SPEAKER_02: I'm getting I'm getting up in years now.
- 28:15SPEAKER_02: I have an AARP card, you know.
- 28:18Dayna Roselli: Lots of life changes for you.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, lots.
- 28:21Dayna Roselli: But you you look happy and healthy, and I mean, really, it's yeah, no, thank you, Dan.
- 28:26SPEAKER_02: I uh yeah, we've been really happy.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: It's just you know, uh Sean and I were talking uh a little bit yesterday, and um we're just saying how it's so funny, like we we we can never predict uh how life's gonna go.
- 28:36SPEAKER_02: Obviously, it's not our first rodeo.
- 28:38SPEAKER_02: Every time the world gets a little bit too cocky, uh 2008, 2009, we had you know the great, you know, uh uh bubble, everyone's losing their houses, foreclosures, business got way too comfortable thinking life, you know, life was always gonna be good.
- 28:51SPEAKER_02: Before that, even when we had uh uh the Twin Towers um 2001, uh there was 13 galleries at that time in the Aladdin and uh only two of them survived.
- 29:01SPEAKER_02: And you know, so it is devastating.
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: But um I think uh you know at this time it's uh it's it's time for another change.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: And uh you don't want to get too settled and think that you've got everything figured out.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: We're going through something obviously very unique to our times.
- 29:16SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, sort of it could I don't know if it's gonna turn into like how it was during the depression with businesses going under.
- 29:23SPEAKER_02: And so uh all these disasters, uh we have we have microcosms of that in life, of our own little disasters, what we think are disasters.
- 29:31SPEAKER_02: And then later on, we find out that unless that circumstance had happened exactly the way it did, our lives would not be what what they are today.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: For me, you know, I was an engineer for uh 12 years, a mechanical engineer.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: And uh when I got uh laid off, some people say fired, uh, but when I got laid off, uh it pushed me into uh it pushed me into finding something else that I enjoyed doing.
- 29:56SPEAKER_02: And it and for me it was art, and now I've been doing it for 20 years.
- 29:59SPEAKER_02: But hindsight's always 2020.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: And no matter if the tragedy is, you know, uh a lot of I've lost a few friends, you know, um uh during this uh uh COVID and uh it's heart heartbreaking.
- 30:11SPEAKER_02: And I I like to think to myself, um, bad or good, that there's a reason for everything happening.
- 30:17SPEAKER_02: I really believe that.
- 30:18SPEAKER_02: And you know, when you look back, you go, wow man, if I hadn't had that crazy, if I hadn't dated that crazy gal and known what I didn't want, I would never be so happy with my wife, right?
- 30:28Dayna Roselli: No, it's true.
- 30:29Dayna Roselli: It's true.
- 30:30Dayna Roselli: It's all it's all a pattern and a lesson, and we learn and we kind of construct the life that we want to be in, you know, especially as we get older.
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I'm in that category now.
- 30:38SPEAKER_02: Settle down as we get older.
- 30:40SPEAKER_02: We all are but I I think uh you know, we're all sort of woven together in this invisible fabric.
- 30:47SPEAKER_02: Um I do think that things don't happen, say, you know, by accident.
- 30:51SPEAKER_02: I really don't.
- 30:52SPEAKER_02: I think but you have to put yourself out there at the same time.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: Uh obviously, I like with the Raiders, I told them that I wanted to be involved and put that out there.
- 30:59SPEAKER_02: Did I think I'd ever get to do a ticket myself?
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: No.
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: Did I ever think I'd be curating, you know, the biggest, baddest stadium in the world?
- 31:06SPEAKER_02: No.
- 31:07SPEAKER_02: Um, but there's no way that I would have been able to do uh it the way that I it should have been done or the way that we're doing it now if uh COVID hadn't hit and had I not uh stopped with the cruise lines and all that other stuff.
- 31:20SPEAKER_02: So now it's the biggest blessing I've ever had in my life.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: And who saw it coming?
- 31:24SPEAKER_02: And that's how career changes happen.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: That's how so many things in life are like, you know, um are like that.
- 31:29SPEAKER_02: Um we were just talking, my wife and I the other day about just how we want to expose our kids to everything that we can as far as sports and you know all that stuff.
- 31:37SPEAKER_02: Because you never know that one uh little kid who uh you know picks up a skateboard one day and rides it and turns out you know that's the love of his life.
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: And then he's got his own TV show called Ridiculousness, you know.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's just a skateboard.
- 31:50SPEAKER_02: We have a friend of ours, uh, uh, you know, who's uh their daughter is a very, very uh talented uh equestrian rider.
- 31:58SPEAKER_02: And I I talked to her and I said, Man, so how did you fall in love with a horse?
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: She goes, Well, you know, one day my dad just took me for horseback ride, and I I fell in love and knew horse, I want to be around horses for the rest of my life.
- 32:07SPEAKER_02: So, and that's how you guys are with microphones.
- 32:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, listen.
- 32:11SPEAKER_02: You enjoy it.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: We were like, we want to keep doing this, but we want to have longer conversations, and it's just like it's been you know just as joyful for us too, you know, just something that we love, and you continue on, you just kind of do it in a little bit of a different way.
- 32:23SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm excited about about what you guys are doing.
- 32:25SPEAKER_02: I think that that's super, super exciting.
- 32:27SPEAKER_02: And um uh it's you know, I I I like the change too.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: I know it for you guys it's gotta be a little scary because it's different.
- 32:34SPEAKER_03: It is.
- 32:34SPEAKER_02: We can easily navigate our lives when we're that's what we do every day, even if it's chaos, like we can navigate it.
- 32:42SPEAKER_02: And uh the scary thing is opening up that uh door, walking into a dark room, and obviously I think a lot of good things are gonna happen, you know, with you guys.
- 32:50SPEAKER_02: You certainly have great t uh taste in uh interviewees.
- 32:55Dayna Roselli: Yep, we do.
- 32:57Dayna Roselli: It's true, and this is only podcast, what, 30?
- 32:59Dayna Roselli: Are we on 32?
- 33:00Sean McAllister: 31, 32, early 30s.
- 33:03Dayna Roselli: 32, yeah, early 30s.
- 33:04Dayna Roselli: So early.
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: You're in the top 40.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: I oh nice, nice.
- 33:09SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: I got a funny story for you.
- 33:12SPEAKER_02: Okay, so um I'm talking with a a friend of mine, uh, very dear friend, actually.
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: His name's Danny, and he's uh was the best man at my wedding and just super cool guy.
- 33:21SPEAKER_02: Well, his son is obsessed with me.
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: He's uh uh uh eight eight, nine years old.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: Name is Elvis.
- 33:25SPEAKER_03: Oh, I love that.
- 33:26SPEAKER_02: And uh Elvis wants to know everything I'm doing.
- 33:29SPEAKER_02: He knows the names of all my paintings, all this stuff.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: All of his book reports are Goddard, Goddard, Goddard, right?
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: So I was cracking up.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: So uh Danny comes over and says, Goddard, I got a story to tell you.
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: I go, yeah.
- 33:39SPEAKER_02: He goes, um, I see my son, you know, he's working on his homework and he's kind of struggling a little bit.
- 33:43SPEAKER_02: And uh so I go over and say, So what are you doing?
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: He goes, Well, I'm doing a book report.
- 33:46SPEAKER_02: And he goes, Oh, what's it about?
- 33:48SPEAKER_02: He goes, Well, it's about Michael Goddard.
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: And he goes, Oh, okay, well, uh, what's it called?
- 33:52SPEAKER_02: He goes, So it's the top uh uh 10 most famous artists in the world.
- 33:56SPEAKER_02: And uh he goes, Oh, okay.
- 33:58SPEAKER_02: He goes, Well, why do you look so sad?
- 33:59SPEAKER_02: He goes, you know what, dad?
- 34:00SPEAKER_02: I I can't I can't find Michael, I can't find Michael Goddard in the top ten artists.
- 34:06SPEAKER_02: So he goes, so what'd you do?
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: He says, So then I went to the top 20 artists in the entire world, and I still couldn't find him.
- 34:13SPEAKER_02: Here's how his dad saved me.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: He goes, Son, let me take a look at that list.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: Looks at it, he goes, Oh, those are all dead artists.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: Michael Goddard is a living artist.
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: Oh, I love that.
- 34:22SPEAKER_02: And save me.
- 34:24Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, I love it.
- 34:26Dayna Roselli: You gotta find the way that you fit in, right?
- 34:28SPEAKER_02: Right, oh, oh goodness.
- 34:30SPEAKER_02: But uh yeah, yeah, he's such a cute kid.
- 34:32SPEAKER_02: He was over here the other day, and uh it was fascinating because I have a drum set uh in the room and uh he wanted to play, and so we just let him let him have at it.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:42Dayna Roselli: Now can you say, and I was just you showed Sean and I a piece of art, and I won't say what it was, but um that you thought about for maybe the stadium, but you said didn't fly through.
- 34:52Dayna Roselli: So um I don't know if you can uh we're gonna we have social media, so we're gonna sh if we can show people that, if they go to our social, we can get some video of it.
- 35:00Dayna Roselli: Are we allowed or no?
- 35:01SPEAKER_02: Fight club, can't we?
- 35:02Dayna Roselli: Fight club, see no, we're not getting that, but we'll show you other cool stuff as we I was just curious, I was just thinking, I loved what you did.
- 35:09Dayna Roselli: You can't we can't talk about it, we can't describe, but let me tell you something that you will enjoy.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: So uh there is Raiders have a broadcast on YouTube called From the Ground Up.
- 35:18SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 35:18SPEAKER_02: And we just filmed a few episodes where you can actually see the artists, uh the local artists that are contributing uh uh to the ticket art um and uh also um uh some things with the stadium.
- 35:29SPEAKER_02: But you get to see the uh uh the art say before it was finished, and then we're gonna take you into the manufacturing side of how we're doing what we're doing, and then a little bit about uh me curating it.
- 35:40SPEAKER_02: Um but the cool thing is, yeah, a lot of things get shut down.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: And so I know this from dealing with uh aristocrat gaming.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: I had Goddard's Rockin' Olives, which uh is now Buffalo.
- 35:51SPEAKER_02: Uh but anyway, but um but you know what I do is I come up with a whole bunch of designs and you sit at a uh at a corporate meeting with you know 20 different people who all have 20 different opinions, and that's been very uh very tough.
- 36:02SPEAKER_02: Not everybody likes everything.
- 36:03SPEAKER_02: It's interesting, and uh it is.
- 36:04SPEAKER_02: I mean for me normally it's like it's like an ego check because when I go out to a gallery or I want to I paint whatever the heck I want to paint.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: When you're doing a commission for somebody, um that's you know, it's a completely different story.
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: And uh, you know, sometimes you'll be sitting at the table and it's like passing around the broccoli, like you're going, nope, don't like it, don't like it.
- 36:24SPEAKER_02: And then there's one guy in the end, I love it! You're like, yes, you know, and uh same kind of thing.
- 36:29SPEAKER_02: But the artists that we chose, uh, like I said, uh none are the local artists, but they're really a quite uh a diverse uh group.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: Uh I can tell you, um uh they all have amazing stories.
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: One of the artists, uh his name is Vincent, he uh came here from the Ukraine and uh kind of started his life over.
- 36:48SPEAKER_02: Sorry, uh kind of uh started his life over here uh before uh you know before becoming a struggling artist, although he was schooled in Ukraine, he was a mortician and uh doing autopsies, he was a doctor.
- 37:00SPEAKER_02: So the uh doctor slash so he was dissecting bodies.
- 37:04SPEAKER_02: By the way, the guy's incredible at anatomy.
- 37:07SPEAKER_02: Oh, I bet I bet but uh but but stories like that, and now here he is a Las Vegas resident, um, you know, getting an opportunity like this and doing something that the whole world's gonna be able to see.
- 37:17SPEAKER_02: And it's story after story like that.
- 37:19SPEAKER_02: There's um another kid, uh Pete Castro, who's just an incredible artist.
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: Uh they're all local, they're all right here, and all just from uh very, very diverse uh backgrounds, ethnicity.
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: We have some uh some uh um one of the girls, uh Diane Zitzka, uh did a picture of uh the Raiderettes.
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: Uh man, it's really cool.
- 37:40SPEAKER_02: So if you get a chance anywhere you can, because it's out, you can actually see the uh the tickets.
- 37:45SPEAKER_02: And um yeah, and uh it's it's exciting and exciting because we're going to be sharing their stories uh through Raiders.com.
- 37:53SPEAKER_02: So one of the things you'll be able to do, be able to look at the ticket art, you'll be able to find out who did it, what other stuff, where you can see them here in town.
- 37:59SPEAKER_02: And uh exciting, exciting for them.
- 38:01SPEAKER_02: They all cried like babies.
- 38:02SPEAKER_02: I'm still trying to get over it.
- 38:03SPEAKER_02: Oh I bet yeah, that's so cool.
- 38:05Sean McAllister: Well, we're so glad that things are going so well for you.
- 38:09Sean McAllister: Thank you for the contribution that you're making to uh Pro Sports and to Las Vegas.
- 38:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, and thank you for uh having us over for a little chat.
- 38:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely, and uh hopefully when when uh when all this sort of uh gets back to normal, I'll be back to doing my gallery shows and things like that.
- 38:23SPEAKER_02: You guys can track me on my michaelgotter.com or my uh or my Instagram or Facebook.
- 38:28Dayna Roselli: And since you're from here, I just had an idea, Sean.
- 38:30Dayna Roselli: Let's take maybe take a quick little break.
- 38:32Dayna Roselli: And what if we come back with Michael and ask him his secret tip in Las Vegas, one of his favorite things for our listeners.
- 38:38Sean McAllister: A special edition of our two tips is next on Vegas Reveal.
- 38:42Sean McAllister: Love it.
- 38:43Dayna Roselli: Vegas Revealed is sponsored by Vegas.pizza.
- 38:46Dayna Roselli: We know going out to eat may not be for everyone right now, and that's where Vegas.pizza comes in.
- 38:52Sean McAllister: And it is so good.
- 38:53Sean McAllister: They have their own homemade dough and sauce.
- 38:58Sean McAllister: The recipe comes straight from an old neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York.
- 39:02Sean McAllister: And if you've had New York pizza, you know it is the bomb.
- 39:07Sean McAllister: Vegas.pizza is only available for delivery apps like Uber Eats, Postmates, and Grubhub, but it's easy and it's delicious.
- 39:18Dayna Roselli: Oh yeah, they've got the classic New Yorker, which who doesn't love just a classic pizza?
- 39:22Dayna Roselli: It's so good.
- 39:22Dayna Roselli: Or you can try something called the Barstool Pizza.
- 39:26Dayna Roselli: That looks delicious.
- 39:27Dayna Roselli: You know, we can't sit at the bar, Sean, and share it, but we can still have pizza at home or at work.
- 39:33Sean McAllister: There's no better food group than pizza.
- 39:36Sean McAllister: Vegas.pizza.
- 39:37Sean McAllister: Find it on Uber Eats, Postmates, and Grubhub.
- 39:42Dayna Roselli: Hey, welcome back everyone to Vegas Reveal.
- 39:44Dayna Roselli: This is usually time for Sean and Dana's secret tips, but since we have Michael Goddard here, we thought, let's ask him.
- 39:50Dayna Roselli: He's lived here a long time, worked here, he's got uh great group of people surrounding him.
- 39:54Dayna Roselli: Where what do you what do you love to do in Vegas?
- 39:57Dayna Roselli: Is there anything that you know you might have in the world?
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: Goddard's two tips.
- 40:01SPEAKER_02: Well, listen, starving artists.
- 40:03SPEAKER_02: So, first of all, we need to talk about food.
- 40:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 40:07SPEAKER_02: One of my favorite restaurants in all of Vegas is Bootleggers Bistro.
- 40:12SPEAKER_02: And they were the first restaurant that we visited uh after all the craziness happened.
- 40:18SPEAKER_02: And uh the cool thing is um if you go if you go in the restaurant, not only do they have amazing food, but a lot of times there's entertainment, but it's very, very safe.
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: Um uh the tables are social distancing is practiced there.
- 40:29SPEAKER_02: That's really, really great.
- 40:30SPEAKER_02: But if you want a good meal, a really, really good meal, um, and then uh on the on the wall as you go out, there's a bunch of photographs of different celebrities there.
- 40:39SPEAKER_02: And uh it's the only place you'll see in any magazine anywhere else where I'm actually above Carrot Top.
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: We've been on magazines together, but he's uh he's always on top.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: So I got top building there.
- 40:50SPEAKER_02: I was really excited about it.
- 40:51SPEAKER_02: But anyways, that's not really the secret.
- 40:52SPEAKER_02: But the secret is is that the music that they have there is super, super exciting and uh and the food is amazing.
- 40:58SPEAKER_02: The other spot, um, a lot of people go up to Red Rock Canyon, which is great, it's open now, super awesome.
- 41:04SPEAKER_02: But my little secret is before you get to the turnoff where you go through the uh and and go to the 13 mile, the exit right before that, if you go down that little street and follow it out till it ends, there's actually like a park in there uh that has all these really cool uh trails.
- 41:23SPEAKER_02: It has uh uh barbecue uh set up.
- 41:26SPEAKER_02: So if you want a barbecue, there's tables and there's uh shade and some really neat little trails that aren't super intense, so um it's easy to take the kids, the whole family on.
- 41:36SPEAKER_02: And uh yeah, and it's just before Red Rock Canyon.
- 41:38SPEAKER_02: I I I told my wife I was just riding around on my motorcycle, and I said, you know, hey, I just accidentally found this super cool spot, so we've been up there a few times, and it's it's amazing.
- 41:47Sean McAllister: I've always wondered what was down that road.
- 41:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, and there's drive right by it.
- 41:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, oh it's really cool.
- 41:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, some amazing houses in there too, like big houses.
- 41:55SPEAKER_02: Like it's 10 minutes from the strip or 15 minutes from the strip, but these giant houses that are have total seclusion, lots of horses and stuff, but there's a little park in there with all kinds of little hiking trails.
- 42:05SPEAKER_02: I forget what it's called, but um yeah, keep it as well.
- 42:08Dayna Roselli: There we go.
- 42:08Dayna Roselli: There you go.
- 42:09Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 42:09Dayna Roselli: And for folks that don't know, bootlegger, um, that's so that's south of Mandalay Bay, closer to the welcome to Las Vegas sign.
- 42:15Dayna Roselli: So if you're looking to find that, so it's still in the vicinity of Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 42:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah, it's still in the vicinity of the strip, and I guess it could be considered the strip in a way.
- 42:22Dayna Roselli: It's still on Las Vegas Boulevard, right?
- 42:24Dayna Roselli: Just down a little bit.
- 42:25Dayna Roselli: Just down a little bit.
- 42:26Dayna Roselli: Hey, listen, thank you so much for joining us.
- 42:28Dayna Roselli: It's been a blast.
- 42:29SPEAKER_02: You guys are welcome anytime.
- 42:30SPEAKER_02: And I I I loved uh I loved you before and doing stuff with you, but this has been a great experience too, because we don't have the time to really talk about intimate things.
- 42:37SPEAKER_02: We have you know, three five-minute segments, boom, boom, boom, you're out, and I don't get to really like chit-chat with you.
- 42:42SPEAKER_02: So it's fun.
- 42:43SPEAKER_03: This is a blast.
- 42:44SPEAKER_02: It has, it's been a treat.
- 42:46SPEAKER_02: Michael, thank you so much.
- 42:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, my pleasure, Sean.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: My pleasure.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: It's it's a lot of fun.
- 42:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, all right.
- 42:50Dayna Roselli: Thanks everyone for joining us.
- 42:51Dayna Roselli: We hope you enjoyed the show.
- 42:52Dayna Roselli: You can always catch us on social media.
- 42:54Dayna Roselli: We're at Vegas Revealed, pretty much across the board.
- 42:56Dayna Roselli: Do you have sites you want to share, or we can just put them on?
- 42:59SPEAKER_02: Um Instagram, Goddard's Crazy Life.
- 43:01SPEAKER_02: And uh most people misspell my name with two two D's in the middle.
- 43:04SPEAKER_02: It's G-O-D-A-R-D.
- 43:06SPEAKER_02: And then uh on Facebook, I'm official Goddard.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: And I think that's I think that's it.
- 43:10SPEAKER_02: Oh well, no, the post office has a thing about top ten most wanted.
- 43:14SPEAKER_02: Uh too.
- 43:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and a milk carton occasionally.
- 43:19SPEAKER_02: So yeah, that's a great way.
- 43:20Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 43:21SPEAKER_02: And michaelgodd.com.
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry, yeah, yeah.
- 43:23SPEAKER_02: Michael Goddard.com.
- 43:24SPEAKER_02: That's a great way to look and see what I'm doing, and uh and soon Raiders.com.
- 43:28Sean McAllister: Yes, exciting.
- 43:29Sean McAllister: The cats out of the bag will come over and check out everything inside the stadium.
- 43:33Sean McAllister: All right.
- 43:33Sean McAllister: We'll see you next week on Vegas Reveal.
- 43:35SPEAKER_03: The Desert Sky's call, but in the eyes will ride.
- 43:39SPEAKER_03: Flying on a Friday around the baby band.
- 43:43SPEAKER_03: Top it's 15 West on Charles.
