- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, uh, I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning everybody you're listening to the voice, Come on,
- 0:09Speaker 2: dig me now.
- 0:10Speaker 1: One it only Steve Harley got a radio show today.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I want to just share something with you along your
- 0:21Speaker 2: way to wherever it is you're trying to get to.
- 0:26Speaker 2: You know, everybody has a different definition for success, and
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm not here to tell you what yours should be.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I mean, please pursue whatever you think success is. Aim
- 0:38Speaker 2: as high as you can, though, that's for sure. My
- 0:43Speaker 2: father used to say all the time. I'm sure you
- 0:45Speaker 2: all have heard it in different variations, but he used
- 0:47Speaker 2: to always say, aim for the moon. Just in case
- 0:51Speaker 2: you miss, you'll still be amongst the stars. Just say
- 0:54Speaker 2: that to me all the time. So that always was
- 0:57Speaker 2: in me to aim high. Now he wasn't saying aim
- 1:02Speaker 2: with the intent to miss. He was just saying aim
- 1:07Speaker 2: in case you miss, you'll steal me amongst the stars.
- 1:11Speaker 2: If you aim for the moon. But if you just
- 1:13Speaker 2: aim for that first flow window and you miss it,
- 1:17Speaker 2: you know, usually run into some type of wall and
- 1:21Speaker 2: nothing happens.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You slither down. You know.
- 1:23Speaker 2: In my book, act like a lady, think like a man.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I told her people that me in love three ways.
- 1:28Speaker 2: They profess, they provide, they protect, and that's the core
- 1:33Speaker 2: essence of a man's love. Well, there's some other PE's
- 1:37Speaker 2: in life too. The number one thing you have to
- 1:40Speaker 2: understand about trying to be successful, and I guess I'll
- 1:46Speaker 2: call this the four p's. I may come up with
- 1:48Speaker 2: five along the way. I don't know. I'm just talking
- 1:51Speaker 2: as it's given to me. So I'm gonna summer start
- 1:55Speaker 2: by saying that these are the four PE's of success
- 1:59Speaker 2: that you have to get ready for it. Number one
- 2:02Speaker 2: is pressure. A lot of it is applied by the
- 2:06Speaker 2: circumstance of what you're trying to go for and what
- 2:09Speaker 2: you're trying.
- 2:09Speaker 1: To do, but.
- 2:13Speaker 2: A lot of it also is self imposed pressure. It's
- 2:17Speaker 2: what you put on yourself to make it. It's a
- 2:21Speaker 2: sense of urgency, it's a sense of necessity. But pressure
- 2:29Speaker 2: is the first thing I want you to be ready for.
- 2:31Speaker 2: And pressure comes in a lot of different forms, but
- 2:35Speaker 2: it's going to be pressured. As an old saying that
- 2:37Speaker 2: pressure buster to pipe. See that's why most people turn
- 2:39Speaker 2: around because of the pressure of trying to be successful.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I want you to get it in your mind that
- 2:46Speaker 2: it is going to be a pressure rize situation on
- 2:49Speaker 2: your rise to the top. Pressure, but understand that that
- 2:55Speaker 2: is what it is, is not going to change. That's it.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Prepare yourself, get ready for there to be pressure. The
- 3:05Speaker 2: second thing I want you to understand is when you
- 3:08Speaker 2: receive this pressure, you have to persist.
- 3:12Speaker 1: You got to stay at it. You got to develop
- 3:16Speaker 1: a dog illness. Hether.
- 3:21Speaker 2: There's a song out that says, why must I feel
- 3:27Speaker 2: like that? Why must I chase the cat? Nothing but
- 3:31Speaker 2: the dog in me? That's a funny line in that
- 3:35Speaker 2: song because really I was thinking about it one day.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I was humming it and and it occurred to me, said,
- 3:43Speaker 2: why must I feel like that? Why must I chase
- 3:47Speaker 2: the cat? Nothing but the dog in me? And you know, now,
- 3:52Speaker 2: you could take it in the literal sense that a
- 3:55Speaker 2: cat chases the dog, because it's innately, it's in his
- 3:58Speaker 2: spirit that cat's and dogs are a lot of times enemies.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Now people have pets in him, proving that if you
- 4:05Speaker 2: show love.
- 4:05Speaker 1: On both sides, they can exist.
- 4:07Speaker 2: And that happens too, but naturally innately, when your cat
- 4:12Speaker 2: goes by a dog and your dog don't recognize him,
- 4:14Speaker 2: there's some barking going on. I'm talking about just walking
- 4:17Speaker 2: through the neighborhood or something.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So. But the reason that this dog.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Is so persistent towards this cat is just cause it's
- 4:27Speaker 2: in him. It's innately in him. And what I'm saying
- 4:33Speaker 2: to you, just using that as an analogy, is that
- 4:38Speaker 2: you got to be you got to be persistent in that.
- 4:44Speaker 2: You got to develop some dog in you now, because
- 4:47Speaker 2: pressure takes some fighting back. See if you don't fight
- 4:51Speaker 2: back against pressure, pressure buster pipe, So what you think
- 4:54Speaker 2: it'll do to you? Pressure crack walls, pressure calls, explosions.
- 5:00Speaker 2: So if you don't fight back to hold it in,
- 5:03Speaker 2: you understand pressure does most people in the simple thing
- 5:08Speaker 2: called pressure, the weight of what it feels like to
- 5:12Speaker 2: want to be successful every single day, over and over
- 5:15Speaker 2: and over and over and over. It's just too much pressure.
- 5:19Speaker 2: People crack. You got to persist. You have to persist.
- 5:24Speaker 2: You can the thought of giving up can come, but
- 5:27Speaker 2: you gotta get it out.
- 5:29Speaker 1: You got to persist.
- 5:31Speaker 2: The next thing I want you to think about is
- 5:36Speaker 2: another something that I've been thinking about for years and
- 5:39Speaker 2: learned for years.
- 5:40Speaker 1: It's called perseverance.
- 5:43Speaker 2: To persist means to insist, a keyword in incest and
- 5:49Speaker 2: persistence insists you must, you must insist that this is
- 5:54Speaker 2: going to happen. Now, the persist I'm assuming means it's
- 5:58Speaker 2: a proaction. It's some type of proaction that you go
- 6:01Speaker 2: towards it to make it. You know, persist, You gotta
- 6:05Speaker 2: be persistent. You gotta be constantly at it, insisting that
- 6:08Speaker 2: it happens. You gotta be constantly at it. But the
- 6:11Speaker 2: next thing I want you to remember is perseverance. Perseverance
- 6:15Speaker 2: is important. Perseverance means that when you've done your best,
- 6:21Speaker 2: when you've persisted, when you're fighting back against the pressure.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Perseverance simply means I'm going to hang in here. If
- 6:32Speaker 2: a crack come into pipe, I'm gonna hang in there.
- 6:35Speaker 2: If the pipe bust, I'm gonna keep going. If I
- 6:39Speaker 2: got to put duct, take mud, whatever I got to
- 6:43Speaker 2: put on this thing, man, I'm gonna use perseverance. I'm
- 6:48Speaker 2: going to stay with it no matter what. So we're
- 6:52Speaker 2: looking at the three things again. You got to understand
- 6:55Speaker 2: that it's gonna be pressure that you're gonna have to persist.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Keyword it Persistence insists you have to insist that no
- 7:03Speaker 2: matter what the pressure is, I'm gonna stay with it.
- 7:06Speaker 1: But then perseverance. If it goes wrong, man.
- 7:09Speaker 2: You got to get in there and keep fighting. But then,
- 7:14Speaker 2: Lord have mercy. Nothing helps you handle the three pees
- 7:18Speaker 2: better than the fourth p. You got to pray. You
- 7:21Speaker 2: got to use prayer. You got to talk to God.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You gotta use faith. You gotta have some conferences with
- 7:29Speaker 2: him late at night, early in the morning, in the
- 7:32Speaker 2: middle of the afternoon, when you're on the train, when
- 7:34Speaker 2: you driving. You got to talk to God. Man, you
- 7:38Speaker 2: got to get yourself some help along the way. Nothing
- 7:41Speaker 2: is bigger than prayer. There is nothing bigger than prayer.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Prayer will help you overcome the pressure. Prayer will help
- 7:47Speaker 2: you stay persistent, and Lord have mercy, Prayer will help
- 7:51Speaker 2: you persevere them.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Mister faux peace, God gave that to me. I'm passing
- 7:57Speaker 1: it on. You're listening.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Easy to see.
