The £160k Derbyshire Auction Block That Revalued at £330k
Alasdair explains why buy, refurbish, refinance is his favourite property strategy, after around 35 refurb projects. He walks through his toughest one to date, a run-down Derbyshire block bought at auction, with the numbers, the funding and the mistakes to avoid.
The numbers: bought at auction for £160,000, with £98,000 spent on the refurb, legals and interest. It revalued at £330,000 and is now worth about £380,000.
The income: three apartments let to contractors. Alasdair says they bring in £4,000 to £4,500 a month gross and £2,500 to £3,000 a month profit after the mortgage.
