- 0:07Now broadcasting from the Next Gen. conservative studio in
- 0:11sunny South Florida, bringing you the latest in politics,
- 0:15current events and pop culture. This is the Whitfield Report
- 0:20with Sam Whitfield. Hey there folks, and welcome to
- 0:44the Monday edition of The Whitfield Report.
- 0:48I am host Sam Whitfield here for another episode.
- 0:52It's been a while since we've had a Monday show, but we've got
- 0:59some pretty important topics to cover tonight, or at least some
- 1:04interesting ones at that. Before we get started though, as
- 1:10always, you know. Thank you for supporting the
- 1:14podcast, and as I announced this past Wednesday on the show, a
- 1:24new copy of Shadows of Deception is now available for purchase.
- 1:33You can buy the new printed version of Shadows of Deception.
- 1:39Not a rewrite, but merely A reprinting with a new cover to
- 1:47match the upcoming novella that I'll be releasing in February.
- 1:54I'll have more details about that coming up here in the next
- 1:58few weeks, but you can go ahead and purchase this copy of
- 2:06Shadows of Deception out now, reprinted.
- 2:13And again, thanks to everyone who has purchased the book this
- 2:18year. It's really been, you know,
- 2:22humbling as an independent author to just get some great
- 2:28feedback on the book. Glad many of you have enjoyed it
- 2:32and I'm excited to keep hearing some positive views and Book 2
- 2:38will be out in mid February of 2024.
- 2:43So thank you to to everyone who has supported me and my
- 2:51endeavors as an author so far. And also the podcast is back on
- 3:03YouTube. The channel is still gone, but
- 3:08you can find the audio podcast itself on YouTube If you would
- 3:12like to subscribe there and watch and or listen and or
- 3:20listen on the YouTube Music app, which also does podcasts that
- 3:28replace the Google Podcast app. We are over there now as well,
- 3:33but it'll be interesting to see which episodes stay up on
- 3:38YouTube and which disappear. I will be very interested to
- 3:43know that for sure, and I suspect with today's episode
- 3:54this will be kind of a litmus test.
- 3:58See whether or not the show can actually maybe go back onto
- 4:05YouTube full time or you know, if we'll stay mainly on Rumble.
- 4:13So this will kind of be a witness test folks.
- 4:17But today's topic first and foremost is the big news of the
- 4:23weekend. Over the weekend that happened,
- 4:26which is that Alex Jones was reinstated on X, formerly known
- 4:36as Twitter by Elon Musk and company.
- 4:41This occurred after Musk conducted a poll over the
- 4:50weekend, or wait no late last week, in which he basically
- 4:57asked if Alex Jones should be reinstated or not.
- 5:02So for those of you listening on audio only, let me read this for
- 5:08you. So let's see, on December 9th,
- 5:192023 at 11:48 AM, Elon Musk asks in a poll reinstate Alex Jones
- 5:30on this platform, Vox Populi, Vox Day.
- 5:36In essence, there were over 1 million votes on the platform
- 5:42about this, almost 2 million actually.
- 5:50The poll results were pretty overwhelming in favor of
- 5:55reinstating Alex Jones on the X platform.
- 6:02It was 70% yes to 29% yes with over a million votes.
- 6:15Pretty staggering overall. And we'll get into kind of why
- 6:24this is important, you know. But I I do want to kind of
- 6:36before we get into that, I I want to preface this by kind of
- 6:39saying that contrary to what some people may think, I am not
- 6:47necessarily the biggest Alex Jones fan.
- 6:52In fact, I I actually, I don't hate Alex Jones anymore.
- 6:59But when the. But when I first started my
- 7:02podcasting career way back in 2008, back before really the
- 7:15mainstream knew who Alex Jones was, I actually despised Alex
- 7:23Jones mainly because he was the 9/11 was an inside job, you know
- 7:34conspiracy theory guy. And I thought the notion that
- 7:39the government could portray 911 and that the US government would
- 7:48bomb its own, you know, would basically commit a terrorist
- 7:51attack on its own people. I thought that was, you know,
- 7:55absolutely offensive and nonsensical.
- 8:00And so I, you know, I was one of the first people, way back when
- 8:07to rebuke Alex Jones. And what I thought at the time
- 8:14were some of his crazy ideas. Now that was when I was in my
- 8:21early teens starting out, you know, in podcasting over the
- 8:27years, you know, as things have kind of progressed, I have come
- 8:36to realize that Alex Jones, like him or not, like all his
- 8:42viewpoints or not, is is right about some things and has been
- 8:49right about some things. Most notably, ladies and
- 8:54gentlemen, with with the fact that Big Tech would be in bed
- 9:01with the, you know, government to basically censor their
- 9:15enemies for a lack of a better term to, you know, derank their
- 9:23political opposition specifically with the left and
- 9:25with the globalists. In regards to 911 itself, let me
- 9:33just say this, I still think that Alex Jones is partially
- 9:39wrong. I do not believe that the
- 9:42government indeed perpetrated the 9/11 attacks themselves.
- 9:53There still is not enough evidence out there to convince
- 9:59me of that. What I do believe is true is
- 10:03that the government was massively incompetent, that the
- 10:11intelligence apparatus was too bureaucratic and there were too
- 10:17many. You know, there was basically
- 10:20too much red tape between the intelligence agencies because
- 10:25people always say, oh, well, the CIA knew about, you know, the
- 10:32CIA knew about the, you know, potential terrorist attack
- 10:36before it happened. So they must have been in on it.
- 10:38Well, you know, that's bureaucratic red tape that
- 10:43basically got in the way of, you know, people communicating
- 10:48effectively and preventing the terrorist attack from happening.
- 10:55So that kind of where I hold the government responsible for is
- 11:02basically, you know, the fact that they sat on their hands and
- 11:10you know, the fact that the bureaucracy was too stuffed up
- 11:13and stifled to really, you know, do anything, which is still a
- 11:22massive fuck up and heads should roll for that alone.
- 11:27And I mean, I'm not just talking about like people losing their
- 11:30jobs. I mean like that's, you know,
- 11:33that level of incompetence does maybe deserve to be jailed.
- 11:39But I don't necessarily. I still don't believe that the
- 11:44government would willingly fly two planes into the building and
- 11:51cause a crisis about that right. I do, however, think that the
- 12:00government fully used 9/11 as an excuse to implement the Patriot
- 12:08Act and to enact a mass surveillance state as a result
- 12:15of the attacks. And Alex Jones was aptly right
- 12:18about that. You know, in essence he was
- 12:28right about, you know, colleges and universities basically
- 12:34pushing this, you know, massively left wing Marxist
- 12:39communist propaganda on young students, even going so far back
- 12:44as like grade school and I'm under school that, you know,
- 12:48that's pretty much taken, you know, as truth now.
- 12:56Pretty much. But anyway, even if I disagreed
- 13:05with everything that Alex Jones said, and for a long time I was
- 13:13kind of in that position, I never thought that Alex Jones
- 13:19should have been completely censored off Twitter, Facebook,
- 13:25YouTube or any platform. Because outside of the
- 13:34exceptions of, like, basically threatening people's lives and
- 13:40making active threats that would break the law, I'm pretty much
- 13:46of A free speech absolutist, you know, with those exceptions.
- 13:56And I thought it was very troubling that Alex Jones was
- 14:04banned basically all of every single platform basically within
- 14:16one day. And subsequently many of his
- 14:21employees with Infowars were as well.
- 14:25So Alex Jones is back on Twitter or X and overall, you know, the
- 14:43platform hasn't shut down. Nothing has really broken off or
- 14:52been damaged or anything like that.
- 14:55You know that the the, the X platform or the Twitter
- 15:01platform, whatever you want to call it, is still functioning,
- 15:09contrary to what some people believe.
- 15:12You know, it's amusing because a year ago when Elon first bought
- 15:17the platform, everyone's saying, Oh my God, it's going to fall
- 15:22apart, it's going to be unusable, it's going to be
- 15:26horrific. Twitter's going to get run into
- 15:31the ground within a year. Elon has no idea what the hell
- 15:35he's doing, all of that right. And I'll be honest, you know,
- 15:45over the past year or so, I would say there have been some
- 15:53significant improvements to Twitter.
- 16:00There have also been some bugs on Twitter.
- 16:05So I want to say that the platform is completely fixed,
- 16:09but by and large I I would say that the platform is still
- 16:12usable in some ways more so than before.
- 16:16Elon is trying to simplify the code base.
- 16:19I I know that for X, and I mean it has its bugs, but so does you
- 16:29know, Rumble and you know all these other alt tech platforms
- 16:36and even like Instagram and Facebook, you know, they're
- 16:39still buggy too. So I would say that as far as
- 16:44usability, you know, X or Twitter or whatever you want to
- 16:50call it is still kind of way the same way it was prior to Elon
- 16:57taking over. What's different, at least from
- 17:01my observation, is that there is more of a wide variety of
- 17:07opinions on Twitter. You don't necessarily see it's
- 17:13not a hardcore left wing echo chamber any more, like was.
- 17:18It's more balanced. There are still left wingers out
- 17:22there like Keith Olbermann who are still on the platform.
- 17:27And if you want proof of that, just Scroll down here to this,
- 17:36you know, tweet right below Elon's pole where he basically
- 17:42calls Elon a a failure and a coward.
- 17:47Right. Elon Musk, I mean Keith
- 17:50Olbermann, who is one of the most, you know, deranged left
- 17:55wing lunatics on the platform and still, you know, on the
- 18:02platform. And yeah, Ed Krasenstein, who is
- 18:16who, you know, Ed and Brian Krasenstein who are very left
- 18:21winger as well, are still allowed on the platform.
- 18:26So as far as X itself goes, really not too much has changed
- 18:35as far as functionality goes. Now the reason why this is a
- 18:43story, and the reason why I'm covering this is because of
- 18:48another thing realized. It's Alex Jones coming back to X
- 18:59slash Twitter. Basically, the corporate media,
- 19:06ladies and gentlemen, is now reporting that basically Twitter
- 19:15is losing ad revenue because of this and that advertisers are
- 19:23pulling away from Twitter as a result of this news.
- 19:29OK, let's go to NPR here because they wrote a big thing on this
- 19:38today. And yes, I know gravel, gravel,
- 19:42it's NPR. But let's let me read the the
- 19:47headline for this because I this is kind of the meat and potatoes
- 19:51what I want to get into here folks, but all right.
- 20:00OK, so headline from npr.org Elon Musk Allows Controversial
- 20:13Conspiracy Theorist Back on at Alex Jones Back on X Elon Musk,
- 20:23owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, announced on Saturday
- 20:27his decision to allow Alex Jones back on its platform.
- 20:33Jones generated controversy for spreading false wild conspiracy
- 20:39theories, claiming that a New World Order was sacrifice
- 20:45raising children on a California compound, that the US government
- 20:49had weather weapons that triggered catastrophes like
- 20:54major floods, and the FBI Director, Robert Mueller was a
- 21:00demon, which that last one was hyperbole, folks.
- 21:08Shortly after being formally reinstated on X, Jones and Musk
- 21:15joined Vivek Ramaswamy, Laura Loomer, a self-described crowd
- 21:20Islamophobe who has been banned from some platforms and others
- 21:26in a live chat on Sunday. I'm telling you, they want us
- 21:33silence to what we said to Jones, blah blah blah.
- 21:45You know that they they talk more about this whole, you know,
- 21:51conversation that Jones and Musk had.
- 21:55OK, now here's the meat and potatoes of this article folks.
- 22:01It is unknown how advertisers who have been pulling ads from X
- 22:06over Musk's endorsement of anti-Semitic comments will
- 22:10respond to Jones returns. OK, let me read that again.
- 22:17It is unknown how advertisers who have been pulling ads from X
- 22:22over Musk's endorsement of anti-Semitic comments will
- 22:27respond to Jones's return. OK, NPR.
- 22:35What specific anti-Semitic comments has Elon Musk endorsed?
- 22:47Citations, please. But now you know it's NPR.
- 23:00They won't. They won't give it to.
- 23:02They won't give citations. Scrolling down, basically they
- 23:13talk more about the you know, about Jones alleged you know
- 23:20Sand Hook comments and the whole crisis actor thing, blah blah
- 23:29blah. OK.
- 23:33So the whole article continues on.
- 23:40It's and it's basically how Jones made horrific comments
- 23:44about Sandhook. Quote UN quote.
- 23:48But suffice it to say ladies and gentlemen, the bottom line here
- 23:55and what I find so interesting is this section right here,
- 24:02right? It is unknown how advertisers
- 24:06who have been pulling ads from X over Musk's endorsement of
- 24:10anti-Semitic comments will respond to Jones's return.
- 24:16OK, so this is what I really want to focus on here here
- 24:23ladies and gentlemen, because this is really, this is really
- 24:31the the heart and soul of this for me is this whole notion that
- 24:40having Alex Jones or Ruin one who is right center on the
- 24:46platform is somehow dangerous for advertisers on the X
- 24:54platform, right. This is an argument that really
- 25:00makes no sense to me, that having Alex Jones on the
- 25:05platform would somehow cost advisors for being on X because
- 25:23see, the way ads work online is you target your demographics
- 25:38basically. So this whole notion, I I know
- 25:47what the argument is. The argument from the left and
- 25:53all these social justice freaks is basically that it'll be
- 25:59dangerous for advisers because Ford might not want their
- 26:08advertisement to be directly under one of Alex Jones's tweet
- 26:13because that might be seen as an endorsement of some kind, right?
- 26:20That is the that's the argument, folks.
- 26:24It's a very stupid one. But that is the argument none
- 26:31the less, basically, and the reason why it's so stupid to me,
- 26:45it's fairly obvious, but the fact that we even have to go
- 26:49over why it's stupid is ludicrous.
- 26:57On these social media platforms, most of these advertisers, they
- 27:08pop up in your feed, you know randomly on the feed because the
- 27:21advertiser has targeted you as potential, you know, viewer and
- 27:31or and or potential buyer, right.
- 27:37So let me give you an example, just, you know, just kind of how
- 27:43stupid this whole thing is, right.
- 27:47So and let me kind of flip the tails here, right, because this
- 27:53is, this is kind of a good example, right.
- 27:59So back in 20, back in 2020 when the George Floyd riots happened,
- 28:15there were several Black Lives Matter accounts that were
- 28:24actively calling for cops to be killed and for officers to be
- 28:38basically taken out. And underneath some of those
- 28:47tweets you would see ads for anything from, you know, Ford
- 29:01pickup trucks to the Sony PlayStation to Budweiser
- 29:14advertisements, just as an example.
- 29:19Now, the argument that some of these people might make, by the
- 29:27logic of the left, is that because the Budweiser ad
- 29:41appeared below this Black Lives Matter tweet about all cops
- 29:48should be killed. That must mean that Budweiser
- 29:54endorses cops being killed, right?
- 30:01Well, no, that's that's stupid. Unless Budweiser themselves were
- 30:11to come out and make a tweet saying that if I just see their
- 30:15ad directly blow a tweet that's controversial, all I'm going to
- 30:23assume is that I'm seeing the ad because that's where the
- 30:29algorithm put in my feed. But I don't assume that every ad
- 30:35that is below a tweet is an endorsement of said tweet,
- 30:42right? Same thing with YouTube videos
- 30:49and even podcasts to a certain extent.
- 30:54Now podcasts are a little different because if it's like a
- 30:58host red at if it's a host red advertisement, then that's all
- 31:04no different because obviously you're paying for the host to,
- 31:10you know, read the ad. But if it's just like a 32nd pre
- 31:13roll ad for like you know again Budweiser or Ford Trucks or
- 31:22whatnot and it's automated, well I'm going to assume that that's
- 31:26just the ad advertising agency or what it or what not.
- 31:31Putting that stock advertisement in front of the podcast before
- 31:38it begins Play Right advertisement does not
- 31:45necessarily equal endorsement of something.
- 31:48And this is something that primarily people, generally
- 31:56people generally understood this back, you know, before 2016.
- 32:04You know, it's pretty funny because Alex Jones had been on
- 32:11Twitter and Facebook and YouTube for years and years and no one
- 32:25had really had a problem with him seriously, up until 2016.
- 32:35Once Trump ran and then he became, he went from being this,
- 32:43you know, kind of obscure figure to all of the sudden the biggest
- 32:47boogeyman on the left, right. But prior to that, none of these
- 32:52advertisers knew who Jones was much less really than cared on
- 32:59him. So, you know, and the fact that
- 33:03Jones tweets were on there, like I never heard anyone, I've never
- 33:10heard anyone say I'm not going to buy Ford truck because I saw
- 33:20my son advertisement directly blow a Joe Biden tweet, right.
- 33:26So therefore Ford must endorse Joe Biden, right.
- 33:31No one has ever said that. So it's kind of ridiculous,
- 33:38right? Most people, your average
- 33:42consumer knows that advertising does not equal endorsement when
- 33:48it comes to business products. And so the logic that Alex Jones
- 33:57is, you know, that that's going to cost X, you know, advertisers
- 34:03in the tizers in the long run. I don't see that happening
- 34:12unless a lot of these left wing activists continue to pressure
- 34:19advertisers to drop, you know, advertising from X.
- 34:28But they've been doing that pretty much since Elon Musk took
- 34:31over the company because Elon is the new big bad for wanting free
- 34:36speech. So it doesn't really matter in
- 34:41the long run. No, I think Alex Jones being
- 34:46back is a huge win for free speech overall, even if you
- 34:51don't agree with him. I think it's better to have more
- 34:55voices than less overall. And I mean, I would go so far as
- 35:02say, and I don't like, you know, any of these people, but like, I
- 35:10would say that even people like Nick Fuentes and even people
- 35:19like Ethan Ralph, both of whom I despise, they deserve to be back
- 35:26on Twitter Slash X, so long as they don't threaten anyone or,
- 35:37you know, caused an actual harm. And I I don't mean just, you
- 35:40know, words. I don't mean the whole words
- 35:44equal violence type of harm. I mean like actual you know,
- 35:49violence. And that doesn't, that does
- 35:51include doxing. I will say that.
- 35:55So but I don't think like necessarily hate speech should
- 36:03even Nestle get you banned off Twitter.
- 36:08I, you know, I tend to think that the only way to combat hate
- 36:14speech is more speech, and that seems so fundamental to many of
- 36:24us who are kind in my circle, but it needs to be said none the
- 36:29less. So like I said, you know Alex
- 36:33Jones back on Twitter, that's the big news, at least for this
- 36:39first portion of the week. Corporate media is right about
- 36:44it. And yeah, not too much else to
- 36:48say about that. Also, the other big news is
- 36:54like, I guess Tucker Carlson is starting his own, like website,
- 37:02but that's not really all that surprising.
- 37:06It kind of seemed like he was going to, I guess start his own
- 37:14payable website, you know. It seemed like a fairly obvious
- 37:18step for him, not really surprised.
- 37:25I will be curious to see where it goes in the long run, but
- 37:29overall I think it should be pretty good.
- 37:32And I I don't know if I'll if I'll sign up yet but if I do
- 37:37I'll be sure and let people know how it is.
- 37:42All right. So there's just a quick one for
- 37:47you folks. Hope you all are having a good
- 37:51start to your week so far. I'll see you on Wednesday with
- 37:57Max, and until then, God bless God save this great nation, God
- 38:03to freedom, legacy, in that order, and we'll see you on the
