  to be reviewing the next book in the Wheel of Time series. We're now

  on book four fourteen, and the book four the Wheel of Time is called

  interesting. I kind of see this as like the be I like to think

  of this book as the beginning of the actual story, because book one through

  three was more of a build up to our characters coming in to who they

  are, realizing who they are, especially Rand, because from this point forward,

  Rant has no doubts in his mind, no second thoughts or second guesses.

  He now it fully accepts that he is the Dragon Reborn, and he
• 4:15
  is fully committed into fulfilling the prophecies of the Dragon Reborn and uniting the people

  of the world in the fight against the Dark One. So from this book

  forward, we're going to be seeing Rand becoming more political. He's going to
• 4:31
  be more taking a more active role in organizing his militaries, bringing the other
• 4:40
  nations of the Westlands and even the Ieal Wastes under his control, and believe
• 4:46
  it or not, bringing the Iel Waste, like the all of clans of
• 4:50
  the a Eel under his control was the easy part, because the Ael have
• 4:59
  their own profits seas of the Dragon Reborn. They call the Dragon Reborn the
• 5:03
  Cara Corn, which means they're chief of chiefs. So the Ayel their their
• 5:11
  society is clan based. They're tribalistic, so they have clan chiefs and uh
• 5:15
  set leaders and societies all these different Their society is very convoluted and complex,
• 5:26
  and it's actually very sophisticated, even though people the Westlands refer to the Aeel
• 5:30
  as savages most times. But uh, we are actually going to be spending
• 5:39
  a lot of our time through They're going to be spending a lot of their
• 5:42
  time throughout the shadow rising in the Ayel waste. Because that's the first,
• 5:48
  the very first thing Rand decides to do is to bring the aye Eel under
• 5:53
  his control because the Aeel are the best warriors out there, and with them
• 5:58
  behind him, he's able everything else else, handling the other nations, bringing
• 6:01
  other nations under his control, whether by conquering them or by just simply bringing
• 6:09
  them under his control through negotiation or by overthrowing whatever forsaken has taken over that
• 6:14
  city. The Aeel would be his his primary Uh what do they call it?
• 6:24
  Like they're military terms. That's like the primary goal no no no,
• 6:31
  the when no no when when a certain group, like when a certain military
• 6:36
  group is used, like the like the front liners or something like. They're
• 6:44
  the ones that are sent in first. They're like the ones used on the
• 6:46
  front lines most of the time. So the Ael will come to make up
• 6:51
  the bulk of his military and he'll they'll be the ones that he relies on
• 6:56
  the most when it comes to handling Shadow friends, fighting the Dark Ones forces,
• 7:02
  and take overthrowing the Forsaken. So about further Ado, let's get started.

  So this story actually, like many of the other books, it does
• 7:16
  split off into multiple into multiple storylines following different characters. So the story takes
• 7:27
  place a couple of weeks rewind rewind when the story takes place not long after
• 7:33
  the events of book three. Though rand is now has now proclaimed himself as
• 7:40
  the Dragon Reborn Uh. He currently controls the high Lords of Tier, and
• 7:48
  as such, he also controls the Stone of Tier, which is which is
• 7:53
  this massive fortress that was built by the Isidaie in the Age of Legends during
• 7:58
  the Break of the World. It is the Stone. It is often referred
• 8:01
  to as the Stone of Tier, and the Stone of Tier is famous because
• 8:07
  it is famous because no single army has ever been able to take it.
• 8:13
  They've never been able to bring the fortress down or basically overtake it and capture
• 8:18
  the Stone of Tier. So whenever the tyrants are being invaded UH and their
• 8:26
  invasion forces managed to push themselves to the fortress, the tyrants were always able
• 8:30
  to like fortify themselves within the fortress and from there eventually push the invasion force
• 8:37
  out. But then the Aeel come in while looking for Rand as their carrat
• 8:43
  Corn and they managed to overtake it, but not by like just breaking down
• 8:46
  the front doors. They actually managed to sneak in and they overpower the soldiers
• 8:52
  in the in the fortress and from there, and this all happens right when
• 8:58
  Rand takes up the UH. The crystal sword Colandor Klandor is a sangreal,
• 9:07
  which is a powerful which is a more powerful version of an angriol. With
• 9:13
  it, Rand is able to channel more power from the source far beyond what
• 9:20
  he is naturally able to channel. And since it's the sword, it's also
• 9:22
  it also functions as a weapon as well, and Kalandor is one of the
• 9:30
  most powerful sangrels ever created in the Age of Legends. There are two others
• 9:35
  that there are two other sangreals that actually surpass the power of Klandor, which
• 9:41
  do you actually get mentioned in this book? And Rand has already seen one
• 9:46
  of the other soanmbrials. It's actually right outside, buried, right outside of
• 9:50
  Carahein. These other two sangreals are what they're called I have in my notes
• 9:58
  here. So these two, the other two to aureol that are more powerful
• 10:03
  than Klandor. They're called the children Cop the Childen Call. Now the children
• 10:11
  Call are a pair of massive, colossal statues composed entirely of quendiar. And
• 10:18
  because of how big they these statues are, the ancient Isodide also created a
• 10:24
  smaller pair of tarangriols. Now if you carry the smaller pair, if you
• 10:31
  if you carry the matching little statue of the children Call, that te ungriol
• 10:37
  links you to the bigger one, allowing you to draw an obscene amounts of
• 10:43
  power from the true source. So much power that is, it is believed
• 10:50
  that you could actually challenge the creator himself by using the children Call. And
• 10:56
  there are two of them, one for each uh, one each gender.
• 11:01
  So like with Ariel and Ariel, there are there are some that will specifically
• 11:07
  work for either a man or a woman. So if there's a female.
• 11:11
  If there's a female, are all saw ungrial, then only a woman can
• 11:15
  channel can only use it to channel more power. And it's the same with
• 11:18
  men. So the reason why I mentioned this is because they actually while the

  biggest the big as statues themselves are not seen in this book, they're little

  Dragon reborn. So many of them are trying to buy for continued use of

  their power to make sure that they can keep their place within this within the
• 12:07
  fortress and keep their power. Now for the most part, wren Leaves lets
• 12:11
  them continue on as they are, but he sets clear rules that also limit
• 12:16
  their power. Because the tyrant lords are basically the best way that you can
• 12:22
  just I can describe them. The power that the Tyrant lords possess is pretty
• 12:26
  much similar to the power that the old Kings of England of England used to
• 12:31
  have, so before the Magna Karta, kings used to be able to just
• 12:35
  say off with your head and without any kind of trial or right like other
• 12:41
  protection like laws that protected individuals after the fact. They after the Magna carta
• 12:50
  assigned king could just basically do whatever they wanted. And that's pretty much what
• 12:54
  the tyrant lords were like. So Randon put new laws in place that not
• 13:00
  only held the tyrant lords accountable for their actions, but limited their power,
• 13:03
  so they can no longer just do whatever they want. Ran has to navigate
• 13:09
  those difficulties, and he begins studying with almost a near obsession, more of
• 13:15
  the prophecies of the Dragons, just to figure out, okay, what is
• 13:18
  the direction he needs to go now, like what else should he be doing?
• 13:22
  And one of the prophecies that he learns of is a prophecy that not
• 13:30
  only concerns Colandor, but it also concerns the iel Or. Rather, it
• 13:33
  hints that it involves the Ieel. So in the prophecy that he was following
• 13:41
  from the last book that concerned kalandor him taking up Klandor also concerned a people
• 13:48
  that would that would take over the Stone of Tear, and they called themselves
• 13:54
  the people of the Dragon, and when he mentions this, one of the
• 14:00
  Ael chiefs that took that took the stone, that participated in the battle he
• 14:07
  mentioned, he tells Rand that that's what the Ael call themselves in private,
• 14:11
  the people of the Dragon. So Rand now further understands that the next part
• 14:18
  of his journey involves the Aeel, and the Iel tell him more about about
• 14:22
  their own prophecies of the Carra Corn. The Carra Corn is meant to unite
• 14:28
  all the Iel clans together and we'll eat and in the end destroy them,
• 14:35
  which Rand is not sure what that's supposed to mean. Clearly, they need
• 14:41
  they are looking for him, but at the same time he's meant to destroy
• 14:45
  them, like they're looking for him, and he's meant to unite them,
• 14:50
  but yet at the same time destroy them. He's not sure what this means
• 14:56
  exactly just yet, but he decides that his next course of action is to
• 15:00
  head to the Aeal Waste, also known by the Ayel as the Threefold Land.
• 15:05
  Before he leaves, several things happen in the Stone of Tier. First
• 15:13
  and foremost, Rand, Paren and Matt experience these kind of gruesome events called
• 15:22
  bubbles of evil. So now that the Dark One. The seals containing the
• 15:26
  Dark One's prison are beginning to weaken and break. The Dark One is slowly
• 15:31
  the Dark One's evil is slowly seeping out of his prison and is causing what
• 15:35
  Morain calls bubbles of evil to appear. And Paren's case a his his axe
• 15:45
  that he has been carrying since he left the Two Rivers, suddenly comes to
• 15:50
  life and begins trying, flying around and tries to chop off his head,
• 15:52
  and Paren barely survives by grabbing it and lodging it into the wall pulled it
• 15:58
  in place. Matt, while playing a game of cards, is horrified to
• 16:03
  see the little figures on his cards come to life and attack him. In
• 16:10
  Rand's case, in his room that in his room, the mirrors on his
• 16:15
  wall, his reflection in his mirrors come to life like and literally step out
• 16:22
  of the mirrors and attack him, and he barely survives destroying them. Not
• 16:26
  long after this, Rand is approached by Landfeir. Now at first Rand still
• 16:33
  thinks that she's going by the name of Selene, but she reveals to him
• 16:37
  that nope, I am land Feir of the Chosen. Because among the Forsaken,
• 16:44
  they don't call yeah among the Forsaken. They don't call themselves the Forsaken.
• 16:48
  They refer to themselves as the Chosen, because they were chosen by the
• 16:52
  Great Lord, as they call the Dark One. But Landfeir reveals him who
• 16:57
  she really is, and she tells him a bit. She tells him that,
• 17:02
  uh just pretty much point blank that she wants him to join her cause
• 17:07
  because it hints that Landfeir, despite serving the Dark Lord, she has her
• 17:14
  own motivations and her own ambition and while she may be playing at cooperating with
• 17:22
  the other Forsaken, she's really manipulating them and working against them in her own
• 17:27
  way. So she has her own ambitions and her own goals, and she
• 17:32
  wants and she wants to convince Rand to join her, mainly because she still
• 17:37
  sees she still sees Rand as lose. Threne Tellham on his previous life because
• 17:45
  Landfeir used to be the Dragon, the Dragon's lover. But in his past
• 17:52
  life, Louise then eventually broke things off with Landfeir, who at the time
• 17:57
  her name was Mirren. He broke things off with her because he realized that
• 18:06
  Landfeir wasn't really with him because she loved him even though she proclaims that she
• 18:12
  does love him, it was really more the She really was more attracted to
• 18:18
  the power that he wielded because he was the most powerful channeler of his age,
• 18:23
  and also he held a lot of societal influence, So it was really
• 18:27
  more her the relationship. She was more attracted to the power and status that
• 18:33
  she got from just being associated with him. But luc Thren eventually broke things
• 18:38
  off with land Fear and married his wife, a woman named Ileana, who
• 18:48
  he unfortunately killed when he went matt at the end of during the Breaking of
• 18:52
  the World, so Landfeir basically, Landfeir's goal is to try to get back
• 19:00
  with her ex who died and is now reincarnated because she's obsessed mm hmm.
• 19:11
  And while she's while they're having their little conversation, Rand and Stone, the
• 19:18
  fortress is attacked by a large force of trollicks and fades who were sent by
• 19:26
  one of the other Forsaken. The Forsaken Semiel now Samiel, has been described
• 19:33
  as a very jealous. He's a very jealous forsaken, so he was.
• 19:38
  Even back during the Age of Legends, Samuel was known to be very jealous
• 19:45
  of the Dragon and often tries to set himself up against the dragon to prove
• 19:49
  that he was somehow the better when he really wasn't loose then whooped his ass
• 19:56
  several times. But the trial forces were opposed not only by the defenders of
• 20:03
  the fortress, but also by another group of trolls and mir Drawl sent by
• 20:08
  yet another other Forsaken, a very powerful female channeler name Semarage. Semarage is
• 20:19
  often compared to Landfeir, not only because she has the same level of just
• 20:23
  raw strength, but because she's often looped in. Summarage is often looped in
• 20:33
  with land Feir because in terms of appearance and overall just ruthlessness, the only
• 20:44
  one of the Forsaken that can match Landfeir is Semarage. If you look up
• 20:48
  pictures of land Feir and even or if you read the books, Landfeir is
• 20:55
  described as being an incredibly beautiful woman. She has really dark hair and dark
• 21:00
  long dark hair and dark eyes, and she's always seen wearing a white dress.
• 21:06
  She has a silver chain belt and her hair. Her hair is veiled
• 21:11
  by chained by like a chain veil with these silver moon and star ornaments.
• 21:19
  Summer Rage is often is uh is described as a woman as a very dark
• 21:26
  woman, like dark skinned, dark wavy hair, and she's always wearing black,
• 21:33
  and some of the other forsaken often say summer Rage is uh. She
• 21:40
  does this just to match land Fear or Landfair always wears white. Summurai summer
• 21:48
  Age is always wearing black, but no one is. No one has the
• 21:51
  balls to say that summer Age's uh face, but I digress. Summarrage won't
• 21:59
  actually be seen until a couple of books down the line, but both attacking
• 22:06
  for both forces of Troluks are pushed back by the defending by the defenders,
• 22:14
  and Ran using Coalandor, creates a lightning storm that kills all of the Trolks
• 22:22
  and fades from that point. After this attack, Rand decides that he must
• 22:26
  travel to the Ayel Waste and be acknowledged as the Ayels prophesized leader. Before
• 22:33
  leaving, though, Rand learns that inside the Stone of Tire there is a
• 22:37
  large collection of artifacts called tarang Rioll I've explained before. Tarang Rioll are unlike
• 22:47
  the other two magical artifacts have mentioned in the Aril Onril allows a channeler to
• 22:55
  channel more of the source than they're naturally able to, so it's like a
• 22:59
  mac the fire, a turangriole is not. It's different because for one thing,
• 23:07
  it uses the it uses the power of the source to perform a specific
• 23:11
  task. Uh. So some tourangreole allow you to enter the dream world.
• 23:19
  Some uh can either be used to heal you. Some can be used to
• 23:25
  shield you from the source. So let's say you want to protect yourself from
• 23:30
  a channeler. There are tourangreoal that keep channelers from using their weaves on you.
• 23:37
  So they tore all come in many different shapes and sizes, and they
• 23:41
  have many different purposes. The White Tower currently has the largest collection of tourangriol
• 23:49
  Ungril and onrial anywhere. Uh the Stone of Tiar has the second largest collection.
• 23:56
  And inside their inside their Vall Moraine the Isidie Moraine. She discovers that
• 24:04
  there is a twisted stone redstone archway and this archway is a unique to Rungreal
• 24:15
  because when you walk through it, it takes you to another dimension. And
• 24:19
  inside this dimension there is a race of a mysterious race of snakelike people called
• 24:25
  the ale Fin. The ale Fin, they're people, they look like normal
• 24:30
  people, but they have very snakelike features. So think something like Voldemort,
• 24:36
  flat noseless face with little slits where the nose should be, snakelike eyes,
• 24:41
  and maybe like a like a scale like pattern on their skin. Moraine tells
• 24:48
  Rand and Matt that this on this Tarranrial allows you to ask three questions and
• 24:57
  the beings on the other side of the archway will answer them. So it
• 25:02
  could be questions to literally to almost anything, and they will answer it truthfully.
• 25:07
  So but there are drawbacks to this. For one thing, you can't
• 25:12
  ask these creatures frivolous questions, so frivolous being like, I mean, put
• 25:22
  it in modern terms, who's gonna win the Super Bowl next year? Like
• 25:26
  that's not a real question. That's very frivolous and unimportant. Now, of
• 25:30
  course sometimes a frivolous question can be important, but it just depends on the
• 25:37
  person who's asking. So you have to be very careful. And you also
• 25:41
  need to avoid asking questions concerning the dark one and basically the dark in general,
• 25:47
  because you could because the answer could you either drive you mad or just
• 25:52
  kill you outright. So all three of them, Ran, Matt, and
• 26:00
  Moraine secretly answer the archway. They all answer at the same time, but
• 26:07
  they don't see each other answering, they sneak into the vault to answer it.
• 26:11
  We don't know what Moraine asked the ale Fin when she goes through,
• 26:17
  and we don't really know what Ran asks either, but we do know what
• 26:22
  Matt ends up asking the ale Fin. So when Matt goes in, he
• 26:30
  The thing is is that when Matt was told of the Tarangriol, he didn't
• 26:34
  really listen to Moraine when she said, don't ask frivolous questions, don't ask
• 26:40
  about the dark. And most importantly, you are only able to answer the
• 26:45
  Archway once in your lifetime. To once you answer the Archway, ask your
• 26:51
  questions and leave, you will never be able to answer the Archway again.
• 26:55
  So it's not like you can just go in, ask three questions, leave,
• 26:57
  come back a few days later and ask more questions. Yeah, nope,
• 27:02
  it's like a genie. It's like a genie in a bottle. You
• 27:06
  three, all right, that's it. So when Matt goes in, he's
• 27:17
  his very for his very first question is should I go home to help my
• 27:22
  people? Because at this point that our heroes learn that the Two Rivers is
• 27:32
  endangered, it's been invaded by hordes of trolls, and it's currently being occupied
• 27:37
  by the children of the Light. So Matt want Matt, who has been
• 27:45
  looking for a very good excuse to get away from all of this, get
• 27:48
  away from Rain for Morain, just fuck off into nowhere. He goes in
• 27:52
  to see what to try to figure out what's his best course of action,
• 27:56
  because even though every fiber is being telling him to just get get the hell
• 28:00
  out of Dodge. Being a Tarangrial not Tarangrell, I'm sorry, Being a
• 28:04
  tavern an individual whose very existence changes the pattern and the core of course of
• 28:11
  events of his life and those around him, Matt is caught up in a
• 28:17
  more powerful tavern that is Rand. So even though Matt changes the course of
• 28:22
  his life in the lives of those around him by affecting the pattern, Ran
• 28:26
  does the same thing, but on a much grander scale. So Matt,
• 28:30
  being a much weaker to u taverin is being is constantly, constantly being caught
• 28:34
  up in this ever changing and twisting pattern that Ran creates around him. So
• 28:41
  he wants a way out. But when he first asks, when he asked
• 28:44
  his first question, should I go home to help my people? The ale
• 28:48
  fin answer give him this answer. You must go. You must go to
• 28:55
  Rudian. And Matt getting frustrated and confused, because Ruidian is a city in
• 29:06
  the Threefold land where the in the Aeel waste, he asked, he immediately
• 29:11
  asked, jumps the gun and asks them his second question, why would I
• 29:15
  do it? Go to Ruidian? The elphant answer, if you don't go
• 29:19
  to Ruidian, you will die, And becoming more frustrated, he blurts out,
• 29:26
  why will I die if I go to Ruidian? And their answer is
• 29:30
  because you would have avoided the threat of fate. You would leave the you
• 29:37
  would leave the butt that you have, the butt that you have marked adrift
• 29:42
  from the winds of time, and you would be killed by those who do
• 29:47
  not want that destiny to be fulfilled. So Matt is incredibly frustrated and he
• 29:52
  starts asking them with like a dozen more questions. But the idiot stupidly used
• 29:59
  up all of this questions. And the thing is, as he's like going
• 30:03
  off on these guys, he notices that the world, the dimension he's in,
• 30:07
  is beginning to become destabilized, and the Alphane send his ass packing and
• 30:15
  basically banish him from this realm. When he comes out of it. He's
• 30:18
  back in the stuff. He's back in the vault where the archways kept.
• 30:22
  He tries to go back through it, but he can't go back through it
• 30:26
  anymore because he's used up his three questions. But at that moment, both
• 30:30
  Ran and Moraine come out of the archway and they ran. Seeing them both,
• 30:41
  he realizes, oh, that's why, because he started experiencing the same
• 30:45
  deterioration of that dimension, so it was becoming destabilized because two tavern had answered
• 30:52
  it at the same time before before Matt got kicked out of the out of
• 31:00
  the archway. Though the Alphane the yel Finn actually answer a fourth question,
• 31:07
  and whether or not this is because of the effects that too Tavren are having
• 31:11
  on the Archway, it's not really certain, but they do answer er a
• 31:18
  fourth question, all right. He asked, what are you talking about?
• 31:23
  And they tell him this marry the daughter of the nine Moons, to die
• 31:29
  and be reborn and to live again a part of what was give up half
• 31:33
  of the light of the world to save the world. And that's when they
• 31:36
  kick him out. Who So he has more questions and answers, but now

  Matt knows that he must go with Rand to the Threefold Land, so Rand,

  Matt Morrain, as well as Agwayne, Elvier, and one of the
• 31:56
  Ill Women out of the end of all this all make their decision to go
• 32:00
  back to travel to the iel Waste. Iguaine decides to go to the Ieal
• 32:07
  Waste because in her travels from the events of the Dragon Reborn and now into
• 32:15
  the Shadow Rising, Igwaine finally figures out how to dream walk without the use
• 32:22
  of that twisted stone ring. So as I said in the last episode,
• 32:27
  Agwaine was given a Tarangrial stone ring by the Isidai Varren. The stone ring
• 32:32
  allows her to answer the dream world when she goes asleep, and this was
• 32:38
  to help her to discover and focus her dream walking abilities. And now by
• 32:45
  this point she's able to answer the dream world at will, but she still
• 32:47
  doesn't really know much about her power and while she was traveling the dream world.

  tie off waves, I was shocked because by this point, after watching the

  first two seasons of the Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime, at least in

  season two. Moraine's warder Len Says Tells reveals that the ability to tie off

  weaves was an ability known only in the Age of Legends, and after the

  Breaking of the World, that ability was lost. So the Forsaken being remnants

  of the Age of Legends still possessed this ability. But as it turns out

  folk and their and their civilization, only that they have the best built boats

  and the best navigators. Very much anything to do with the sea and the

  sea life. The sea folk are the ones that iioneer are the pioneers of

  sea life and sea travel. So Ninieva and Elaine requests passage on a seafolk
• 54:28
  vessel and the seafolk the captain of the seafold and her wind finder. The

  seafolk seafold vessels are captain only by women, so the captain is always going

  to be the captain's The captain of the seafold vessel is always going to be

  a woman, and every almost every seafold vessel have another woman called the wind

  finder. And while at first Ninive assumes that the wind finders kind like a

  wisdom but rather she's more of like a navigator, someone who uses their so

  called wind sense to navigate the seat. But they later find out that wind

  finders are actually channelers, and these channelers kind of like the wise ones.

  They use their abilities to control the weather, which is the secret to why

  the seafolk vessels are so fast, because they are they're so skilled at weather

  working. They use massive weaves. Because when the Lane first sees a seafolk

  wind finder at work, she describes it as seeing a like a thick cord

  of wheel of threads going high into the sky and as far as she can

  tell, she's used. The wind finder is using weaves of wind and water

  to control the pressure the changes in pressure in the sky to create favorable wins

  and weather mm. So the Seafolk agree to take Whenever you request passage on

  a Seafolk vessel, they don't charge you for it. They offer if you

  to them and make them an apprentice, whether they like it or not.

  try to explore much of the city because of how lawless it is, so

  they often so they rely mainly on Tom and Julian to do the searching for

  them. Tom, being a gleeman, is very skilled in gathering information just

  by uh you know, r hopping, going to different taverns and speaking and

  basically getting the local gossip. Yeah. Uh he and he knows how to

  pick out the accurate information from just idle gossip. While Julin being a being
• 1:02:28
  a tyrant, being a tyrant thief capture. He's like a detective, so

  he knows how to he knows how to identify the criminal underbelly, which is

  at hard Stenchi Goat's criminal underbelly is more of like the criminal overbelly, where's

  this underbelly on its sleeve? So Joiline uses his own detective skills to find

  out more information to figure out where the Black where the Black Azure could possibly

  and when they left Tier Igwayne had actually given the girls the Stone Ring,

  so that way they can keep in contact with each other in their travels by

  using the by meeting each other in the dream world. Uh So they would

  the dream world will actually take you or show you what you need if you're

  if the need is intense. And during one of Nineve's travels in the dream

  world, she uses that to her advantage and it actually takes her to a

  place within tan Chiko. It's like what she when the place that the that

  the dream world takes her is kind of looks like a museum. She sees
• 1:03:53
  like artifacts in cases. There's areas that are roped off and like basically like
• 1:04:01
  an exhibition halt and hell. She even sees dinosaur bones, but she doesn't
• 1:04:08
  know exactly where this is, but where specifically, Uh, there's a specific
• 1:04:13
  part in this museum that it keeps taking her to and on like. Examining
• 1:04:19
  the exhibits she finds she finds one particular artifact. She finds actually two artifacts

  hidden within this museum. One of them is a is a disc with the
• 1:04:33
  ancient symbol of the ice todye on it, and she recognizes it as one

  of the seals to the Dark One's prison, but she felt she feels that

  in their in their private room at the end that they're staying at and mogedi

  and using weaves of compulsion, questions it too. She doesn't hurt them,

  She just compels them to tell them to tell her everything that they know,

  why they're in ten Chiko, what they're looking for, things like that,

  and basically revealing all their plans to Mogedian. And at the end of it,

  Mogedian uses a weave of compulsion to compel them to forget their entire encounter.

  So, while Elaine goes to take care goes to rescue Amathera from the Black

  Asia, Ninive goes into the exhibit and manages to grab both the Adam and

  the seal. But while she's doing this, Mogeddion walks in and actually walks

  right by Ninive. And the thing is Mogeddi and she's very like when she

  walks in, she's very sure of herself and confident, like Huh, I'm

  gonna take the seal and I'm gonna take this adam like nothing can stop me.

  Think about compulsion weaves, they're more effective on people with weak wills and

  who are not very strong minded. But Ninive is a very strong willed and

  strong minded individual. So being as stubborn as she is, Uh, the

  weaves didn't fully The compulsion weaves didn't fully work on her to make her forget.

  She was actually starting to remember the encounter before she saw Mgeddion, but

  she couldn't really like remember everything. But when she sees Mugeddion, this causes

  her to completely overcome the compulsion weave, and she remembers the entire interrogation at

  Mgidion's hand, and this enrages Ninive because she's like like basically she's like,

  bitch this bitch right, yeah. And so since Ninive is still struggling with

  that mental block preventing her from channeling at will, she can only channel when

  she's extremely pissed off. Well, the being triggered like this pisses her off

  enough to where she is able to call upon the Uh. She's able to

  embrace the source, and she lashes out at mogedi In and the tool.

  The two of them starts dueling, and the thing is though Ninive realizes that

  she's fighting a forsaken and she's and she thinks to herself, I'm probably gonna

  die. This is a forsaken. She's probably gonna kill me. Might as

  well just like give it everything I got. So they're having a sort of
• 1:12:46
  like mental like shoving match with each other, with the two of them trying
• 1:12:49
  to either shield or still the other. Right, So they're like they're throwing
• 1:12:56
  like different weaves and threads at each other and they're matching each other her and
• 1:13:00
  at one point Ninivea is like like at one point in the fight. Now
• 1:13:04
  Neive is like, okay, why am I still alive? Right? I'm
• 1:13:10
  not dead? And so like she like As she's pushing against Mogeddian's power,
• 1:13:15
  she realizes Mogeddian is struggling just as much as she is to overpower Ninive,
• 1:13:21
  and it hits her that, uh, it hits her that she's matching Mogeddian
• 1:13:30
  in terms of raw strength. And finally, so this gives Ninive the con
• 1:13:36
  the confidence boost she needs and she actually manages to get one over Mgeddian.

  And when Mogeddian realizes that she lost the upper hand against Ninive, she turns
• 1:13:48
  and tries to run away because the thing about Mogeddian h and another one of
• 1:13:56
  the Forsaken tells us Ran later which I'll we'll get into late as Modian,

  I'm sorry this foresay, oh I spoiled it? Whoops? So yes,

  one or the other forsaken the Forsaken. As Modian tells Ran that Mogeddion is,

  she prefers to hide in the shadow and only strike when she knows that

  she has the upper hand, even if she's in a one on one,

  if she's in a fight, Whereas there's a fifty to fifty chance of her
• 1:14:26
  winning. She would rather cut She would rather cut her losses and run.

  Yeah, she would not take that chance. So when Mogeddion yeah, So,

  when Mogeddion realizes she doesn't have the upper hand against Ninive, she turns
• 1:14:41
  and tries to run, but Ninive quickly, she uh quickly restrains her with
• 1:14:46
  weaves of air and shields her with weaves of spirit, preventing her from moving
• 1:14:50
  and touching the sores ni makes. The thing about The thing is though Ninive
• 1:14:56
  makes a mistake of tying off the weave because, as they learned later on,
• 1:15:02
  it is more effective to continuously maintain a shield over another channeler than tying
• 1:15:09
  off the shield to where it sustains itself. Because if you tie off a
• 1:15:13
  weave around somebody another channeler, that channeler can actually undo the weave over time.

  Ranted, it may take some time, and unless the weave and the
• 1:15:25
  the weave is very complex, they can actually untie it themselves and escape,

  which Mulgeion does because while because even though Ninive restrained her, one of the

  black Azure shows up with and she uses the tarangrial that can u it shoots

  bail fire and if you for those of you who don't know or may not

  may have forgotten from the last from the last episode, bailfire is basically a

  beam of disintegration, except instead of turning you to dusk, it erases you

  from time now and it's unblockable too. So this Black Aja shows up and
• 1:16:10
  starts shooting, uses the tarandrial to shoot bailfire at Ninive. Ninive is forced
• 1:16:15
  to flee, but before she flees, she realizes that Mogeddion had escaped.

  MM but you know, but it doesn't matter. Ninive escapes. Elaine succeeded
• 1:16:29
  in restraining another member of the Black Asia and rescuing the Penark, Emathera.

  The two of them escaped from the palace. Amathera returns heads to the King's
• 1:16:41
  Palace to seek his help, and Nineva and Elaine decide to make the make
• 1:16:46
  their escape from Ten Chico. At that point, that's all that happens with
• 1:16:51
  them in this book. They they leave Ten Chico and the rest of their
• 1:16:57
  story continues in book five, which we will be talking about next week.

  But the story is not over just yet. So now we're gonna go over

  to the group that travels to the Two Rivers. So Paren leads his team

  through the Ways into the Way through the waygate at that is situated in the

  mountains of in the mountains that border the Two Rivers. It's there that Paren
• 1:17:31
  notices that he can't sense the presence of any wolves that naturally that typically inhabit
• 1:17:38
  the Two Rivers. It's like they've all disappeared, and over time, as
• 1:17:43
  he uses his power to journey through the dream world. Because Paren is with
• 1:17:48
  his power, he's actually a form of dream walker as well, because wolves
• 1:17:54
  also have the ability, as it turns out, to enter the dream world.
• 1:17:59
  So when he answers the dream world to try to look for the wolves,
• 1:18:02
  he actually encounters the spirit of this wolf that he befriended in book one.

  You actually see this wolf in season two of The Wheel of Time,
• 1:18:14
  a wolf called Hopper. Hopper unfortunately was killed by the White Cloaks, but

  his spirit still inhabits the dream world and will sometimes appear before Paren to offer

  him advice and aid him and whatever he needs. Hopper appears and tells Paren

  to leave the Two Rivers because there is a dark force there that is killing
• 1:18:35
  off the that's killing any wolves it's a mysterious shadowy figure that Parrien encounters several

  times throughout the course of his story. While in the Two Rivers, Parent

  Paren learns that the dark Friend Padden Fane, has allied himself with the Children
• 1:18:58
  of Light, and he is the reason why the Children of Light have come
• 1:19:00
  to the Two Rivers. Because the Children of Light know that Parrien is from

  the Two Rivers and they're occupying it so that way they can try to so
• 1:19:12
  that way they can try to draw Parent out as well as kind also fall
• 1:19:17
  into padd and Fane's schemes to enact vengeance on Ram because padd and Fane,
• 1:19:24
  throughout this story excuse Me continuously tries to convince the Children of the Light or
• 1:19:30
  the White Cloaks to attack and just kill everyone in the Two Rivers. He
• 1:19:34
  keeps telling them that they're all dark friends. Don't believe them, they're dark
• 1:19:38
  friends, But the White Cloaks aren't fooled. They know that not everyone in
• 1:19:43
  the Two Rivers is a dark friend. They just want Paren and his friends.
• 1:19:47
  Paren does eventually make contact with the villagers of Emonfield, his home village,
• 1:19:56
  but he learns that unfortunately his fa his family, his mother father and
• 1:20:01
  his younger siblings and pretty much everyone in his extended extended family were murdered by
• 1:20:08
  the by the Trollok forces. He also learns that a group of Tuathan,
• 1:20:16
  the pacifistic tinker people Pacific nomadic people, they're also trapped in the Two Rivers.
• 1:20:25
  They were making their way through the Two Rivers, but they were attacked
• 1:20:28
  and most of them were killed by the Trollocks. And they also take refuge
• 1:20:31
  in emid Field, where Parrien has rallied the villagers to build up their defenses
• 1:20:38
  set up traps. They also encounter a pair of Isaidai. We've seen these
• 1:20:45
  Iidai before. It's actually the brown sister Varren and the green sister Alana.
• 1:20:51
  The reason why the two the two Isidi were in the Two Rivers was because
• 1:20:57
  they believed that the Two Rivers is filled to the brim with potential pupils and
• 1:21:05
  recruits for the White Tower. Really so yeah, the basically because the thing
• 1:21:12
  is is that three two very powerful initiates came from the Two Rivers, I
• 1:21:17
  GWayne and nine. So they have reason to believe that the Two Rivers has
• 1:21:24
  made because of the old Blood is running very strong in the Two Rivers.

  They believe that it's possible that there are plenty of young women there who either
• 1:21:33
  have the potential to learn how to channel or who are born with the with
• 1:21:36
  the natural spark to channel. But when the White Cloaks arrived, they ended
• 1:21:42
  up getting trapped there because the White Cloaks basically quarantine the Two Rivers not only
• 1:21:48
  to protect it from the Trolics, but to also ensure that they know who
• 1:21:55
  comes in and comes and goes. So that way, if Paren, Matt
• 1:21:59
  or Rand were to show up in the Two Rivers again, they'd be able
• 1:22:01
  to capture them and arrest them. Yeah so with yeah so, with the
• 1:22:10
  help of Fran's father adoptive father tam al Thor, as well as Matt's father
• 1:22:14
  Abel Coffin, he convinces the Two Rivers to fight back. He leads them
• 1:22:18
  against the Trolucs and, unfortunately, much to Parent's annoyance, the people of
• 1:22:25
  two of the Two Rivers uh give it, appoint him as the new Lord
• 1:22:30
  of the Two Rivers, and they give him a nickname, Parent Golden Eyes
• 1:22:34
  or Parent Lord Parrin. Uh. Parent manages to also uh convince the villagers
• 1:22:45
  of all the neighboring villages in the Two Rivers to come to the Two Rivers
• 1:22:48
  not only to protect them, but also to build up their forces to fight
• 1:22:53
  against the Trolucs before their final showdown with the Trolus. Parent actually actually marries
• 1:23:00
  Fayel because throughout the story the two of them actually develop a close relationship,
• 1:23:10
  and eventually he decides he wants to marry her, and he tasks her with
• 1:23:16
  traveling to Camlin and asking Queen Morgasee to lend soldiers to help them fight because
• 1:23:20
  the Two Rivers is still technically a territory, a part of the territory that
• 1:23:27
  and Or controls, but that doesn't end up happening. They can't, They
• 1:23:31
  weren't. Fayla wasn't able to make it across the river leading to the road
• 1:23:36
  to Camlin because the Trollicks, for one thing, attacked and burnt the village
• 1:23:45
  of Tarran Ferry to the ground, destroying the ferry, cutting off any escape
• 1:23:49
  from the Two Rivers, at least from that route. The Children of the
• 1:23:56
  Light, led by Dane Bernhold, they actually uh confront Parent and the and
• 1:24:04
  the villagers, all the villagers that gathered themselves in the Two Rivers in Emon's
• 1:24:09
  field, I'm sorry, and they demand that the villagers turned Parent over for
• 1:24:14
  arrest because one they charged parent, they accused parent of being a dark friend
• 1:24:19
  and two they are charging him with murder because he had killed a couple of
• 1:24:26
  white cloaks in the past. And while that is true, Parrien did kill
• 1:24:30
  a couple of white cloaks, it wasn't just straight up murder. It was
• 1:24:33
  out of self defense. And let's be honest. I'm gonna be totally honest
• 1:24:40
  with you, and the people of the Two Rivers agree, nobody gives two
• 1:24:44
  shits about a couple of dead white cloaks because the white Cloaks are basically the
• 1:24:49
  Spanish Inquisition, the KKK, and the Nazis all rolled together, one in
• 1:24:54
  one group. Jesus yep. Now, they're not so much as like the
• 1:25:00
  Nazis, as in like they you know, white, like white, or
• 1:25:04
  like the KKK, whereas it's white supremacy and you know, the whole blonde
• 1:25:10
  hair, blue eyes, superior race kind of deal. It's just more of
• 1:25:15
  it's more heavy leaning on the Inquisition. So they're witch hunters. They are
• 1:25:20
  dark friend hunters. But the thing about being a dark friend hunter is that
• 1:25:25
  they dark Friends know how to hide themselves very well, so white In the
• 1:25:31
  end, when White Cloaks are hunting for dark friends, all they manage to
• 1:25:35
  succeed in doing is sewing mistrust between neighbors, staring up trouble, Like if
• 1:25:42
  they suspect someone's dark friends but they don't have proof, what the White Cloaks
• 1:25:45
  will end up doing it start spreading rumors and inciting uprisings and mobs and riots
• 1:25:53
  just so they can kill one person that they suspect is a white is a
• 1:25:56
  dark friend. So they're very problem and they cause they cause more trouble than
• 1:26:03
  they end up solving than they end up helping. And you know, it's
• 1:26:06
  just very like they they put themselves on such a high pedestal saying that,
• 1:26:11
  oh, we fight for the light, you fight against us, You're fighting
• 1:26:14
  against the light itself. Well, you know, spoiler alert, the person
• 1:26:20
  one of their, one of the White Cloaks leaders, is dark friend.

  So the dark friends, the the children the White Cloaks are not exempt from
• 1:26:35
  from being infiltrated by the dark friends. In fact, dark friends are probably
• 1:26:40
  are the dark friends that are in control of the White Cloaks are the reason
• 1:26:44
  why the White Cloaks are very problematic. Well, actually they're only like a
• 1:26:47
  small part of the reason why they're problematic without even without the Dark Friends infiltrating
• 1:26:55
  their forces, that the White Cloaks are, they're the problem. Like,
• 1:27:00
  if I had a choice between being under the control of the Isid Eye or
• 1:27:04
  being under the control of the White Cloaks, I'd rather be under the control
• 1:27:08
  of the Iceid Eye because at least the i Sid Eye don't discriminate. Yeah,

  and they're not dumb enough to like, they're not dumb enough to just
• 1:27:18
  walk around and foolishly call out like that, point fingers and say that person's
• 1:27:25
  a Dark Friend, just like the White Cloaks would do. So, the
• 1:27:30
  White Cloaks demand that the that the two Rivers hand over Paren for arrest,
• 1:27:38
  but they refuse. They refuse, but Paren doesn't want the two Rivers to
• 1:27:44
  get caught up in more cease senseless fighting, especially with the White Cloaks,
• 1:27:47
  so he agreed. He makes a deal with Dane Bernhold, who I should
• 1:27:53
  mention has a personal vendetta against Parent because Dane believes Paren was the one responsible
• 1:27:59
  for his father's death, which wasn't the case. Dane straight out accuses Parent
• 1:28:05
  of murdering his father, but Parent tells him that's not what happens. Your
• 1:28:10
  father was killed during the Battle of Toeman Head against the invading force of the
• 1:28:15
  shan Chan. But the thing about the thing is is that unless you were
• 1:28:21
  there and you saw that the shan Chan themselves, pretty much the rest of
• 1:28:27
  the Westlands don't really believe that the shan Chan are real. They just think
• 1:28:30
  that they are just some strange they're just some rebel group, or they're just
• 1:28:35
  some group controlled by the Isidai because they've heard the rumors that there are channelers
• 1:28:41
  using their power as a weapon, and they just think, oh, it's
• 1:28:43
  the is today. So but in the end, Dane agree agrees to parents'
• 1:28:50
  terms. The children will fight alongside the two rivers when the Trolks attack in
• 1:28:56
  force, and at the end of the battle, Parent will go ahead and
• 1:29:01
  surrender himself to the White Cloaks and allow them to take him back to Ameditia
• 1:29:08
  where he'll be tried, tried, and executed not executing now. Rand does
• 1:29:15
  have one final confrontation with the Shadow Slayer that this strange figure that he keeps
• 1:29:24
  encountering in the dream world who had been killing the Wolves in the Two Rivers,
• 1:29:31
  Paren actually finally confronts him and defeats him, and it does the identity
• 1:29:42
  of the Shadow Killer isn't really revealed, so to speak, but it's heavily
• 1:29:48
  implied that it was actually this foreigner who had come to the Two Rivers to
• 1:29:56
  help them, and he happens to be a hunter for the Horn of the
• 1:29:59
  Lear. But after Parent defeats the guy defeats the Shadow Killer, the guy
• 1:30:04
  is seeing fleeing from the Two Rivers and he actually has a wound that Paren
• 1:30:11
  had inflicted on the Shadow Killer in the dream world, because whatever wound or
• 1:30:15
  injury you get in the dream world, it actually does appear on your physical
• 1:30:20
  body. But he's gone, and Paren doesn't have anything to worry doesn't bother
• 1:30:28
  worrying about him for the time being, because it's not long after this that
• 1:30:31
  the Trollic forces attack Emonsfield in force, but despite their full assault, the
• 1:30:40
  Two Rivers forces actually managed to push back and defeat the Trolks. Even though
• 1:30:46
  the Children of the Light agreed to aid them in battle, they didn't.
• 1:30:54
  They just sat back and watched and in anything, the men of the Two
• 1:31:00
  Rivers they had gathered all their wives and their children in the center of the
• 1:31:03
  village to be protected. But when their their their wives saw that the children
• 1:31:11
  weren't gonna help their husbands, the wives like, oh, you useless pieces
• 1:31:15
  of ship. Come on, we're gonna we'll show you. We're gonna show
• 1:31:17
  you what it means to help our husbands. So all women end up picking
• 1:31:20
  up weapons and join their husbands in the fight, and that is pretty much
• 1:31:26
  what helped them succeed in their battle against the Trolucs. And once the Trluks
• 1:31:31
  were defeated and were driven out of the two rivers, the white Cloaks immediately
• 1:31:39
  demand parents to surrender, but paren and as well as the rest of the
• 1:31:44
  villagers, they tell the They tell the white Cloaks to take a hike,
• 1:31:47
  because the agreement was the children of the Light would fight with the villagers to
• 1:31:55
  defeat the Trolks, meaning they had to also be taking part of the fight
• 1:32:00
  and helping them defend the two rivers. But instead they just sat back.
• 1:32:03
  They just sat back and watched so and seeing that the in the white Cloaks,
• 1:32:09
  seeing that they were clearly outnumbered by the villa by all the villagers,
• 1:32:13
  they just said they just pieced out and they but while they were leaving,
• 1:32:18
  Yeah, while they were leaving, they were they were all like you,
• 1:32:21
  you were all dark friends. Yeah okay, yeah, okay. But but

  seeing that his own plans were ruined, Padden Fine ends up leaving the Two

  they were used to study the multiverse as well as being able to use as

  well as being used to transport themselves instantaneously from different places, as long as

  it it's that the destination is with another the destination is to another portal stone.

  Uh and Rn had in his studies of the of the threefold lands,

  ancestors. There's like a definite time skip, but he sees the memories of

  Ael, of the Iel as we know them today, two before the breaking

  of the world, when the a Eel used to be just like the Tinkerers,

  built the city. But it was in their travels into the from the Westlands

  into the Iel waste uh that we see that a small group of the Iel

  broke off and became what a now known as the Tuatha and the tinkerers.

  the rest continued their journey into the way, continued their journey deeper into the

  also sees the memories of one of his ancestors that was living during the Age

  said, I had this research institute which was a massive floating sphere, like

  can reach another country that's on the other side of the threefold Lands called Shara.

  On the other side of the Threefold Lands is another country called Shara,

  you can get silk from Shara is either by trading it from the seafolk,

  completely bypassing the Threefold Lands, or the pedlars who travel directly through it.

  But the thing is is that this is something that both Morain and Ran suspect

  was that these peddlers are dark friends. But what they don't realize is that

  the uh disguised as these ped uh disguised among the dark friends. There's actually

  one is another Forsaken named Asmodian. Now, when Landfair was trying to convince

  channel properly, you know, more complex weaves things like that, and the

  and they do encounter these uh uh. They do meet this uh this train

  of merchants, and the they suspect their dark friends, but they have no

  proof, and the Iel tell the merchants that they're going in the wrong direction

  and they agree to like uh, they agree to let them travel with them

  because the Aeel will begin to UH. We'll begin to be gathering at this

  large gathering place called all care Doll, which is like this bowl shaped valley

  that has a natural acoustic that that has this natural acoustics, so if you

  stand in one spot and you speak like you know, normal and normal voice

  level, everyone within the valley can hear you. So the Iel clans use

  this in times like where they need to gather to make large decisions that will

  affect everyone within the threefold lands. So they do accounter some issues. They

  run into several hordes of Trolics which are able to UH, which they are

  able to overcome. At one point, Rand almost gets eaten by a dragcar,

  which is a man that creature that can suck out your soul, but

  he's rescued by Avianda, who's already who's begun to learn how to use her

  power with the source. They all the tart Ad Ayeel make their way to

  al Caredal, where they're met by the all the other clans of the ay

  Eel, including the Shadow. The thing is though uh Koladen had declared himself

  the the clan leader of the Shadow Ayel, and but he's immediately He's immediately

  rebuked by the Wise Ones because the Wise Ones had had forbade him from entering

  Ruidian to become a clan leader, so he is not an official clan leader.

  But when Rand arrives at Alcare and declares to the rest of the Ael

  that he is the Kirakorn and even shows his tattoos, Kaladin steps up and

  says, no, I'm the real Caracorn. I've been marked, and he

  lifts up his arms, and he too has his own pair of dragon tattoos,

  which is confusing to everyone. Like the people, like the Wise Ones

  not and those tattoos are are a forgery, but not everybody is convinced.

  Aside from Ruark, who was there when Ran entered and entered Rudian and came

  out with the tattoos, nobody else can validate his claim, can actually like

  validate it. But Ran proves to the rest of the Aeel that he is

  the real Caracorn because only Klan chiefs who have entered the glass archways will will

  have seen their ancestral memories and the secret history of the Iel during the age

  of Legends. And the thing is is that the clan chiefs keep what they

  see what they've seen, and the glass Arch is a secret because if the

  rest of the Aele realize that they were once like the two athen following the

  way of Leaf, this could cause a lot of problems, you know,

  like wait, our badass Border Society was founded on a lie. We used

  to be a bunch of tree hugging pacifists. It would cause an uproar.

  But Rand reveals the secret history to the to the Iel clans, and the
• 2:09:28
  clan leaders all have to have no choice but to acknowledge him as the Carra
• 2:09:31
  Corn because only the Carra Corn, someone who's passed the glass arch waste,

  would know this. The the rest of the i L clans, on the
• 2:09:43
  other unfortunately erupt into a into a riot. But Rand manages to quell the
• 2:09:50
  riot by summoning a rainstorm into the i El waste, which you know,
• 2:09:54
  the Iel waste gets little to no rain whatsoever. It's at point he really
• 2:10:01
  Rant, so he Rant already suspected that Asmodian or at least one or the
• 2:10:05
  other Forsaken was hiding amongst the merchant train and he was gonna. He actually
• 2:10:13
  laid a trap of his own to get to get this forsaken to reveal himself.

  And it was during this chaos that his trap was frong and he and
• 2:10:24
  he sensed when Asmodian the forsaken that was hiding, that was hiding amongst them
• 2:10:28
  in secret. As Modian had disguised himself as a gleeman traveling with the merchantsh

  he senses when Mesmodian uses his power to open a gateway to allow him to
• 2:10:41
  travel back to Ruidian instantaneously. So the way they so uh Chandlers. While

  they cannot use their power to fly to allow themselves to fly, they can
• 2:10:54
  use their powers to open gateways which allow them to travel instantaneously from one point
• 2:11:01
  to another. Now, thing about gateways is that in order for you to
• 2:11:07
  travel, you need to be able to know that your destination. Like,
• 2:11:09
  so you have to know where you're going, right, so you have to
• 2:11:13
  know the area that you're traveling to very well. But you also need to
• 2:11:16
  know the area that you're leaving from. So you can't just open a gateway

  and travel instantaneously from one point to another without knowing the place that you're leaving

  from very well. So there's two types of traveling. So there's traveling,

  which is when you open the gateway, you immediately can step through and instantaneously
• 2:11:41
  go to the place you're intending to go to. But if you are in
• 2:11:46
  an unfamiliar area and you want to travel to some place that you know very
• 2:11:50
  well, you can do what is called skimming. And skimming is when you
• 2:11:56
  open a gateway and instead of seeing your destination on the other side, it's

  just like a black emptiness, right, and when you answer it, you

  create, You create like a little platform of yourself. In this platform moves

  through this void until it reaches the area that you wanted to travel to,

  and then from there you open the gateway and there you go. So that's

  how traveling works. So, since both Ran and Asmodian were both unfamiliar with

  the al Cairdal, they as Moodian opened a gateway to Ruidian and he's and

  but he had to skim. And when Ran since the gateway, he was

  able to reverse engineer that he was able to learn how to use the weave

  and open his own gateway, discovering his own ability to travel and chases Asmodian
• 2:12:48
  down and when he exits the gateway, he finds himself back in Ruidian.

  It's there that he chases as Modian through the city. As Modian is lobbing
• 2:12:58
  lightning bolt and fireball back at him, trying to slow him down, and

  like he's also pulling buildings down around Rand to keep him from reaching the Center
• 2:13:07
  courtyard. But Ran is countering Asmodian and shooting fireballs and lightning bolts back at

  him. They both. He was able to slow as Moodian down enough to
• 2:13:20
  catch up to him just as they both just as he was entering the center
• 2:13:24
  courtyard, and he realizes that Asmodian is trying to reach one of the artifacts
• 2:13:33
  in the courtyard, and this particular artifact is an access key. So earlier
• 2:13:39
  in the episode, I mentioned that there are two incredibly powerful to Angriel ever
• 2:13:46
  created, and there are these massive statues made entirely of quendi Are. They're
• 2:13:50
  so powerful that it's rumored that if you have access to one of them,

  you would have enough power to challenge the creator himself. Now that may be

  an exact Whether or not that's an exaggeration, it's hard to tell. But

  Rand sees Osmodian running straight for one of the access keys to the Childen Call,

  mainly the one foot statue of the male version of the Children's Call,

  which can only be used by mail chandlers. So he runs for it two
• 2:14:22
  and they both grab the access key at the same time, and because of
• 2:14:26
  this, they both immediately are able to access the insane amount of power from

  the children from the Childen Call, And since they're both getting equal halves of
• 2:14:35
  the power, they're just throwing weaves at each other, having a bit of
• 2:14:39
  a like you know, tug of war, trying to get the access key
• 2:14:45
  from the other. But since they both have equal access to the power from
• 2:14:50
  the children Call, they're not able to get much. They're not able to
• 2:14:54
  get much of an upper hand over the other. But Rand, when he
• 2:14:58
  had left Tier, he had actually taken something from the vault. From the

  artifact of Volve in Tier, Rand had found a little statuette. He calls
• 2:15:13
  it the fat Man statue because it's a statue of a little fat man,
• 2:15:16
  right, and it was a male angriall. So Rand remembers that, wait,

  I have another angrill with me, So he starts channeling through that as

  well as the children Call access key, and this gives him enough power to

  overwhelm Asmodian, and while he's fighting Asmodian, he notices that Asmodian has these

  strange black threads woven in him, and he realizes this black thread is as

  Modian's link to the Dark One. So using his extra power, he severs

  as Modian's link to the Dark One, which simultaneously renders Asmodian cuts off his

  link from UH the Dark One, making Asmodian mortal again, because it was
• 2:16:03
  this link that gave Asmodian his longevity, but it also UH destroyed his protection
• 2:16:11
  from the taint because the male Forsaken, they aren't subject to the taint on
• 2:16:16
  the on the male half of the True Source like regular real mature. Yeah

  so, so the male Forsaken aren't affected by the corruption on Sidon because of
• 2:16:37
  the Dark Ones protection. But when Rand severs that severs as Modian's link.

  Now as Moodien is susceptible to the corruption and he will eventually go matt he

  was. After he severed his link, he was able to overpower and restrain

  as Modian and defeat him. It's at this point their fight actually destabilized the

  protective wards over Ruidian, so the mist and the barrier that was protecting,

  Meridian disintegrates and now the city is open to the rest of the rest of

  the world. And at this point, yep. At this point Landfear shows

  up. She still tries Yep, she still tries to influence Rand to get

  him to join her, but he still refuses, and he's like and he's

  like, well, I'm still not going to join you, but you know

  what, I will take up that one little offer you made and make this

  guy right this bit right here points over to it, to the defeated Asmodian.

  I'm gonna have him teach me how the channel properly. And Landfeir is

  like, haha, I like this game you're playing. So she sweetens his

  the deal a bit, and she places a shield on Asmodian and tie a
• 2:17:52
  very complex shield, preventing Hamodian from dismantling it on his own, but she
• 2:17:58
  leaves it loose enough to where Asimmonium can still channel, but just a trickle
• 2:18:03
  of the power, not enough to be a threat to Ran, but enough
• 2:18:07
  to teach Ran how to channel properly. So Wren returns to al Caradal and
• 2:18:16
  he finds that the Shido the shadow Eel were driven out by the others and
• 2:18:22
  the rest of the ideal plans acknowledge him finally as the Cara corn A Kara
• 2:18:28
  Karn. And that is where we're getting. That is where the book comes
• 2:18:35
  to an end. Uh. It's throughout the It's throughout the story usually whenever

  concerns Ran. It also like jumps back and forth between Ran and Igwayine Agwayne.

  Uh has spent had spent this entire time studying with the Wise Ones.

  So it's not like even though she's posing as a full fledged isidized sister for

  if she was an actual apprentice to the Wise Ones, like they intend to

  make her fully fledged wise one. So you know, pretty much she's she

  feels like she's back at square one, playing being a novice again, where

  she has to do all the work, all the hard labor. Yeah,

  and so the be to the beck and call the Wise Ones. Her training

  is overseen by like three ill wise ones. Amos who is the one that

  she met in the who's the one she met in the dream world right off

  the bat Bear, who is another dream walker she isn't able to channel.

  She can't channel but she is a dream walker and a number of other wise
• 2:19:48
  ones who all have the ability to dream walk, which was very shocking to

  both Igwaine and Moraine, who h only had only suspected that they could channel

  but didn't realize that they can all that most of them can dream walk.

  So and they're all learning more and more about i ILL culture. Avienda was
• 2:20:13
  set by the Wise Ones to teach Ran the Iell customs, something that she
• 2:20:18
  resents because it's not really clear why she's like. She has a strong dislike

  of Rand, and every time Ran questions her on it, she doesn't really
• 2:20:31
  give him a straight answer, but she's often telling him that. She often
• 2:20:35
  tells him that you belong to Elaine. I'm just making sure you don't stray
• 2:20:39
  from that path, because before Rands and Elaine separated from Tyr, Ran and
• 2:20:48
  Elaine had actually grown closer together, spending a lot of private time together.

  Nothing too spicy, but still Avanda, who had befriended Elaine stee Elaine is

  something of a near sister and wants to make sure that Rand doesn't, like,

  you know, stray from Elaine. Yeah, like you belong to Rain.

  to end up together. Yeah, But Rand later figures out and spoilers this

  onslaught, but they fell, and Or as well as as well as Altera,

  Amditia, Galdean, all these other nations came together to fight against the

  the spear maidens that crossed the that crossed into the Westlands and joined the fight,

  a wise one and the wise one will make sure that the child ends up

  with another uh non maiden family mm hmm. So like and the the identity

  of the child's mother is never revealed, but being the coinn the wise ones

  make an exception and tell Ren who his parents were. And when he unites

  the ieel many of the Ieal societies because there are different societies, they're kind

  of like military branches. Different clans have different societies or like sometimes societies will
• 2:26:20
  encompass different clans, and usually your loyalties to your society come first over your
• 2:26:26
  clan. So and the thing is think about the Maidens of the Spear is
• 2:26:33
  that they only have one society, so they're all paradised mind. And because
• 2:26:43
  it's revealed that Wren is the son of a Maiden of the Spear, the
• 2:26:48
  maidens all basically come to like Revere Rand in a higher form of respect because
• 2:26:54
  they see him as the child that was returned to them. And these societies
• 2:27:01
  all and begin vuying for rands attention like who would hold rands, uphold Rand's
• 2:27:09
  honor, be his honor guard, be the ones who would be his first
• 2:27:15
  line of first and last line of defense, things like that, And the
• 2:27:20
  Spear Maidens were the ones who were more outspoken and more ready to uphold his
• 2:27:26
  honor. And Ran decides to make his the Maiden of the Spear. The

  Maidens, the Maidens society as his honor guard, so they become his personal
• 2:27:39
  guard. They're the ones that travel with him and are the first ones to
• 2:27:43
  go into battle for rands, so you know, they really like the spear
• 2:27:48
  Maidens become his most loyal his most loyal soldiers, which is kind of problematic
• 2:27:56
  for Ran because since he comes from a very since he was raised in a
• 2:28:01
  culture that views women as weak and something that they that as a man,
• 2:28:07
  he has to protect it. Often, like his cultural beliefs from the two
• 2:28:13
  Rivers, often clashes with the warrior society, the warrior culture of the Ail,
• 2:28:20
  especially the spear Maidens, because the spear Maidens like war is their life.

  They're ready to jump into the battle at any moment, doesn't matter.

  But you know, Wren like it has well like well, he begins to
• 2:28:35
  have issues with this because he doesn't want to put them in danger, right
• 2:28:39
  But at one point, the spear the spear Maidens make it clear to him
• 2:28:43
  that he cannot dishonor them by keeping them out of the fight, and he
• 2:28:48
  agrees. I mean, he still tries to keep them out of the fight
• 2:28:50
  as much as possible, but when it comes down to it, he doesn't
• 2:28:52
  stop them from standing up in his defense. That is pretty much it for

  book four, The Shadow Rise. A lot has happened, as you guys

  can sell, a lot has happened. Brand is not only the dragon reborn,

  but now officially declared the ay Eel's Kara Khan, and now after the

  other Ieal clans to acknowledge him as their chief of chief, he immediately orders

  them to He immediately mobilizes them like over one hundred thousand Ieal soldiers, and

  they begin their march west to cross the to cross the gap in the what's
• 2:29:37
  the name of those mountains? Actually? Let me like, like, don't
• 2:29:41
  judge me, people. This is one of those high fantasy stories where there's
• 2:29:43
  names for everything. I can't keep up with all them. I think it's
• 2:29:50
  called the Spine or something like that. Okay, that is not a label

  map. That is not a label map. Okay. So, dividing the

  Westlands from the ale Waste is a mountain range called the Spine of the world,
• 2:30:05
  and at the somewhere like in the middle of the mountain range is a
• 2:30:09
  gap that allows people, which is what merchants and too often used to cross
• 2:30:18
  into the ale Waste. So ran immediately mobilizes the clans. More than like
• 2:30:26
  about half of the clans had showed up at al Caerdal when he declared himself
• 2:30:31
  with Caracorn. The rest there was like about three or four other clans that
• 2:30:37
  hadn't really arrived yet. That was because when Rand called the gathering, he
• 2:30:41
  said, I want them all gathered within a couple of weeks. And while
• 2:30:43
  the Wise Ones said that, the Wise Ones dream Walker said that they can
• 2:30:48
  contact them and get them all gathered as soon as possible, that may not
• 2:30:52
  all show up at the time he wants. So the ones that didn't show
• 2:30:56
  up, they do end up following Rands from far as he marches west with
• 2:31:01
  the rest of the a El clans, and they're still unsure whether or not
• 2:31:07
  to declare him to like devote themselves to Rands. But in the next book

  he does eventually prove himself and get them on his side. But other than
