- 0:34I'm inviting you to text. How it?
- 0:37Could, because I know it's been so long and together we can face
- 0:43the enemy. Then you'll see one song wrong.
- 0:50I'll show you when I begin. Lay all your riches and sins at
- 0:55the mode of the Godly Cross. Hello ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:02My name is Brett Keene and you are listening and watching to
- 1:05the Brett Keene Show. I hope you're all having a
- 1:07blessed day out there. I wanted to share with you guys
- 1:11a story for my new subscribers out there are people that have
- 1:16only been subscribed me for a little while.
- 1:18You may not know this, but whenever I was a former atheist.
- 1:22And I was running an atheist show and I was doing call
- 1:25insurance. I was calling churches,
- 1:27preachers, and I even managed to get some celebrities on my show.
- 1:32Now, unfortunately, many of you don't know that because my
- 1:36YouTube channels were taken down, I was silenced.
- 1:39I was put out of business. But one of the celebrities, I'll
- 1:44name a couple that I actually engaged in an act interacted
- 1:49with. Was one of the Baldwin brothers,
- 1:53the young one that ended up Stephen Baldwin, who ended up
- 1:56becoming a Christian. And he was doing shows and all
- 1:59that and making appearances talking about what Christ meant
- 2:04to him. Now remember, I was a former
- 2:07atheist and I had it out for religious people at the time.
- 2:11However, what Stephen Baldwin did not know was.
- 2:17I didn't hate him. I didn't dislike him.
- 2:20I actually respected the Baldwin brothers.
- 2:22There was a time where Alec Baldwin and the Baldwin brothers
- 2:25were considered badasses. One of my favorite movies done
- 2:29by the Baldwins, whereas Backdraft with Kurt Russell.
- 2:33Good stuff. Well, there was a woman out
- 2:36there that I considered one of the most badass women on the
- 2:39planet, and that was Roseanne Barr.
- 2:42And Roseanne Barr was a celebrity who decided to open up
- 2:46a social media account. She decided to open Twitter.
- 2:50And Roseanne Barr was she's always been unique.
- 2:56She's always been a powerhouse and awesome.
- 2:59But one of the things about her that I think made her as big as
- 3:03she is is the fact that she was so relatable and she actually
- 3:08would talk to the common folk, OK?
- 3:12On Twitter, she would talk to anybody.
- 3:14She'd respond to anybody. The comments and tweets that she
- 3:18did was not always, how shall I say, a kind or respectful.
- 3:23But it's Roseanne Barr, you know, Roseanne Barr is the type
- 3:26of person who she knows that she has it hard.
- 3:30She knows that she's got health issues and she's got mental
- 3:34discrepancies and she is just taught herself, I guess trained
- 3:38herself. To not let people take advantage
- 3:41of her or hurt her or do things, and it's one of the reasons why
- 3:45she's a strong personality that she is.
- 3:48She realized whenever she got into Hollywood and all that,
- 3:51that she was going to have to wear armor all the time,
- 3:55especially being a woman, going through all the struggles that
- 3:58women go through in the business.
- 4:00But she was one of these women who could actually sit here with
- 4:05pride and tell you that if it wasn't for her.
- 4:09The very TV show that was named after her would have never
- 4:12survived or would have never made it.
- 4:14It was her personally that did it.
- 4:18And I know a lot of people they'll say, yeah, but what
- 4:20about the, you know, Dan and all that?
- 4:23Well, Dan's a talented actor, but let's face it, there was
- 4:27never ATV show about him at all. He got the star in movies, but
- 4:32they've never actually made a movie where he's like the main
- 4:35guy, unless you count that drug addict movie called The Lebowski
- 4:39and shit that a lot of atheists like.
- 4:41They sit around and they snort coke and smoke weed and shit and
- 4:45then watch that movie and that's like their anthem.
- 4:47I get it. I get it.
- 4:49It's basically a a dumb ass movie for dumb ass people.
- 4:54I'm going to take a lot of heat for that, but So what?
- 4:58So Roseanne, she always had a place in my heart because I grew
- 5:03as a child. I grew up and I watched her play
- 5:06this mother on television. And I remember thinking to
- 5:10myself, damn, I wish I had a mom like that.
- 5:12I wish I had a mom that didn't let people walk all over her and
- 5:16abuse her and do all that kind of shit.
- 5:19This woman was basically like, I'm going to do what I need to
- 5:22do in life. I'm going to survive.
- 5:24She took care of her kids and she had sarcasm.
- 5:26She had the jokes. And also, Roseanne was
- 5:30intelligent. She was one of the few
- 5:32intelligent shows back then. And what's interesting is her
- 5:36show could has stood the test of time whenever she was actually
- 5:40in it. You could go back and watch it
- 5:44and there's a lot of politics and there's a lot of things
- 5:48discussed that are true today. If that makes sense, well.
- 5:56Because I've seen her on Twitter and I was trying to actually
- 5:59have a successful show, it just seemed like an intelligent idea
- 6:03that I would reach out to Rosie. But unfortunately there was
- 6:07something going on in my head where I had a lot of anger and
- 6:10rage and I was having a lot of downfalls in my life.
- 6:13So I decided not just to be polite about it and just come
- 6:17right out and say, Rosie, I respect you, I admire you.
- 6:20Will you come on my show? Because if you come on my show,
- 6:23then I'll actually be a lot more relevant than what I actually
- 6:26am. At that time, I was actually
- 6:30considered one of the most popular atheist in the world,
- 6:33but I wasn't so narcissistic or arrogant to think that I even
- 6:37came close to the fame and awesomeness of Roseanne Barr.
- 6:42I fucking knew it. And anybody that says otherwise,
- 6:45they're full of shit or they're insane.
- 6:48Roseanne Barr is a household item.
- 6:51Brett Keene was just some fucking asshole on YouTube run
- 6:54his mouth who every once in a while got a thumbs up.
- 6:57OK, you know, let's just be fair about that.
- 7:02But for whatever reason, I was not in a respectful mood.
- 7:07Here I am looking at a childhood hero making comments on Twitter
- 7:12and I decide to engage her. Instead of saying, can you
- 7:16please come on my show and have a really deep conversation with
- 7:21me? I decided because I'm a former
- 7:25or I was an atheist back then, that I'll go after her on
- 7:29religion. I figured that would be fun,
- 7:31That'd be good to go at. That'll give her something to
- 7:34talk about. It'll give me something to talk
- 7:36about and we can have kind of a little spat.
- 7:39And I knew that Rosie wasn't scared or chicken shit.
- 7:42She wasn't afraid of anyone. So I know that she would have
- 7:46gave me a toe to toe in the ring, just I just felt like the
- 7:52fire and the flames from that would have been spectacular at
- 7:57the time, but stupid. Now when I think about it, it's
- 8:03so stupid. Why?
- 8:04Why do that to your childhood hero just so you can have your
- 8:08name out there? It was one of the few times in
- 8:11my life where I actually. Thought that that was a good
- 8:14idea. And when you think about it, it
- 8:17actually makes you feel like you took advantage or you tried to
- 8:20take advantage somebody's good opportunities or great things
- 8:24that are going on with them. And unfortunately, I have a
- 8:27feeling that's what a lot of people in Hollywood did to her
- 8:31in the 1st place. They took advantage.
- 8:33They knew that she had that star thing going on, that eye of the
- 8:37tiger, and she was hungry and she was going to take whatever
- 8:40the fuck she wanted, period. And a lot of people seen that
- 8:45and they didn't want to see Rosie for who she was.
- 8:48A lot of people got to the point where they were like, yeah,
- 8:51she's great and she's awesome and all that, but what can I get
- 8:54out of her is the attitude and that sucks.
- 8:58I was a nihilistic atheist. I was about myself, you know,
- 9:02And that's sad. That's real sad.
- 9:05I'm having a hard time not bawling, just thinking about
- 9:08what a Dick head I was as a non believer.
- 9:12So I tried to get her in and she engaged me back.
- 9:17She actually interacted back and she's like, you don't believe in
- 9:21God. And I said Nope.
- 9:23And she said, well, you're a fucking moron.
- 9:25She actually tweeted that to me. You are a fucking moron.
- 9:29And I know some people out there, you would have probably
- 9:32crawled into a corner in a fetal position and and fucking died by
- 9:37a celebrity talking to you like that.
- 9:41But me, I was like, yeah, that's Roseanne Barr right there.
- 9:46She's a fucking bad ass. She don't take no shit off of
- 9:49anybody. That simple fucking tweet put me
- 9:52back in my place and it reminded me of who I am and who Roseanne
- 9:57Barr is. Shit.
- 10:01And there were a couple tweets that she did back where she said
- 10:04that she might actually be interested in in coming on the
- 10:07show, even though I came off as a Dick towards her.
- 10:11She understood how Hollywood works.
- 10:14She understood that people want a piece of the pie, people want
- 10:17shit. And she gets that.
- 10:20And as long as you don't push it over to fucking line, she might
- 10:24actually help you, even though you're absolutely useful,
- 10:26useless and don't benefit her any.
- 10:29But unfortunately, I found myself.
- 10:33I ended up getting canned for the 100 fucking time on YouTube.
- 10:37I got shut down and stuff. And then I went through my
- 10:40metamorphosis and my transformation.
- 10:42A lot of changes. My life.
- 10:44It was probably a good thing for me to get shut down because it
- 10:47gave me an opportunity to sit back and observe myself and
- 10:52really look at how where I've come from.
- 10:55What am I doing? Am I actually benefiting the
- 10:58human race? Am I actually contributing?
- 11:01Am I doing anything good? Is my views even right?
- 11:07Is my ideas even correct? Sometimes a motherfucker just
- 11:11needs to be slapped really fucking hard in the mouth and it
- 11:16just makes you think about shit in a whole different way.
- 11:19There's nothing like a good ass weapon that'll just tell a
- 11:23person you know, watch your fucking step.
- 11:26Don't go that direction with me. Don't get the wrong tone.
- 11:30And Roseanne, she just kind of set it out for me like that.
- 11:33We never did get a show going. We never did interact.
- 11:37But I've always had this absolute admiration and respect
- 11:42for this woman, the contributions that she's done to
- 11:46society. She's not only a person who was
- 11:50struggling in the in the business because of being a
- 11:54woman, but she was also struggling because she was
- 11:57dealing with her own personal demons inside.
- 12:02You know, she was dealing with the mental health issues and all
- 12:06that, and I know what that's like because I got my own mental
- 12:09health issues. I've got severe depression.
- 12:12I know what it's like to one day feel like you're on top of the
- 12:15world and then the next day you just feel like, fuck, I just
- 12:19wish it would all come to an end.
- 12:21I just. I'm sick and tired of it.
- 12:24And it's one thing you got to think from her perspective of
- 12:28what that's like. She's involved with all these
- 12:31big mouths on the Internet, all these celebrities, she's had to
- 12:34listen to them and actually interact with them and socialize
- 12:38with them. Is where we get to see the
- 12:41nightmare from the outside watching like a video or a movie
- 12:45or footage or something, she actually.
- 12:47Had to live through that shit all of her fucking life and all
- 12:51of her career. She had to put up with these
- 12:53fucking dummies that a lot of you make fun of on YouTube.
- 12:58Could you imagine having to live like that and actually try to
- 13:02somewhat pretend as though you enjoy being in that environment
- 13:06and being around a bunch of fucking losers with stupid ideas
- 13:09all the time being Roseanne Barr who just lets that shit fly and
- 13:14go so. Lo and behold, things started
- 13:21getting political. The election was going.
- 13:27Trump ended up getting voting in and whenever he got voted in, he
- 13:31went from being this billion dollar successful businessman
- 13:35that contributed so much to our government before he even became
- 13:41president as well as our country.
- 13:44He did so much with real estate and he was a fighter who was
- 13:48very successful in his own right.
- 13:51He becomes president and then suddenly the world turns on him
- 13:55in the liberal media and they turn him into Satan Incarnate.
- 14:01And Roseanne Barr? She supported him and she did
- 14:05not like some of The Dirty bullshit that was going on in
- 14:07politics, the woman that she went after.
- 14:11Nowadays people see that same woman that Roseanne Barr went
- 14:15after as a fucking traitor to our country.
- 14:18That's right, A lot of people are wondering why that woman is
- 14:22even in Congress. Will Roseanne Barr, being the
- 14:25intelligent creature that she is, she she fucking sense that
- 14:30bitch from a mile away. She knew there was something not
- 14:33right there, that there was something wrong, and she went
- 14:35after her. She did some goofy ass insults
- 14:39towards this woman. You know, equality, treat
- 14:43everybody you know the same way, whether you're male or female
- 14:47type of attitude. It's so interesting too, because
- 14:50liberals and Democrats are always claiming that they want
- 14:53equality between men and women. Well, here you got Rose and
- 14:57Barr. She's about as equal as it gets.
- 14:59She's about as fucking. If she's going to whip your ass,
- 15:03she'll do it fair. And even here you've got your
- 15:06woman, your strong woman. You ain't afraid to tell you
- 15:10what she wants. You know She's not afraid to lay
- 15:14it out for you. Lay the cards on the table.
- 15:17And what did they do to her? She went after another woman.
- 15:21She mentioned the word monkey in her fucking tweet.
- 15:25Now, Roseanne Barr has called lots of people many, many
- 15:30different names, and I don't believe whenever she was calling
- 15:33anybody any of these names. That there was any real
- 15:38intention behind it at all. She's a comedian.
- 15:41She's kind of what you call natural comedy.
- 15:45It's like the shit just comes off the cuff.
- 15:47She could be walking through a club, see somebody with a big
- 15:50head and say, look, there's a fucking pumpkin head.
- 15:52Look at that fucking plum over there.
- 15:54It's not meant has anything to do with racism or transphobia or
- 15:59how she feels about a race of people or any of that shit.
- 16:03She's just a woman. She sees somebody doing
- 16:05something stupid and she says something fucking hardcore back
- 16:08to him, but there's no intention behind it.
- 16:11It's just off the cuff. She's natural.
- 16:15She's like, I hate to do a comparison like this, but she's
- 16:20like a Chris Rock where Dave Chappelle, where they just say
- 16:23what's on their fucking mind and they move on and that's it.
- 16:28When she said monkey, she was literally talking about a stupid
- 16:31animal or a fucking zoo animal. That's out of control.
- 16:35And nowadays there's people all over the world, both liberals
- 16:39and Republicans, who are saying 100 times worse than what
- 16:42Roseanne said. But what did they do to her?
- 16:45They they fucking cancelled her. She was one of the first
- 16:49childhood heroes that they ended up burning into the floor.
- 16:53They killed her character in the show and actually tried to carry
- 16:57on the show without her. It died quickly because I know
- 17:00when that damn show aired and they claimed that they were
- 17:03going to kill her off, I couldn't even begin to watch
- 17:07that shut. I had lost my mother, you know,
- 17:10my fucking hero in real life. And Roseanne was like my TV
- 17:15mother. So to watch them dissect her and
- 17:19destroy her and say this strong woman became weak and got on
- 17:23drugs and died, I was like, get the fuck out of here.
- 17:29And then it made me sick when I turned on my television and you
- 17:38would be flipping through, trying to find something
- 17:41interesting to watch, and you'd see one of the pricks that Co
- 17:44starred with her. Running their fucking mouth.
- 17:49They couldn't just say I didn't find her joke funny or I
- 17:54couldn't find her tweet funny. But she has always been a great
- 17:58person all of her life, and because of her, our careers were
- 18:02made. Because of her.
- 18:03We have a future. Because of her, we even have the
- 18:06opportunity to be relevant enough to even have our own show
- 18:11or be able to talk and express our ideas.
- 18:15Alls they had to do was just simply say I didn't agree with
- 18:19her on her tweet. It was nasty or foolish.
- 18:23But they went all out trying to just kill her, destroy her.
- 18:31And how can you do that? I I I don't understand.
- 18:36How can How can people do that? The the children.
- 18:41Actually, I I don't know if many of you have, many of you watched
- 18:44that show, but these were kids that actually grew up with
- 18:48Roseanne. They were like the second
- 18:50family. You watch them go from little
- 18:53bitty ass kids to growing into young adults and shit along with
- 18:58Roseanne's fake sister on the show and Dan, how do, how do you
- 19:04do that? I mean.
- 19:07Did somebody, did Hollywood actually sit down with these
- 19:12people and say, you got to say this, you got to do that?
- 19:15What? Where was the spite and
- 19:17bitterness from where they had to, like, totally fuck her over
- 19:21like that? I I don't get it.
- 19:23Did they think it was going to give them points in the media?
- 19:27Did they think that Hollywood was going to give them extra
- 19:29money for being Dick heads on on TV or something?
- 19:34I still to this day, I don't get it.
- 19:36I don't. I don't understand how you can
- 19:38just turn around and stab people in the fucking back like that.
- 19:42There's a certain kind of there's evil, ladies and
- 19:45gentlemen, and then there's that kind of evil where someone
- 19:48pretends as though they fucking love you just so they wait until
- 19:54that moment where you're vulnerable and then fucking Jack
- 19:58you. That's a special kind of evil,
- 20:00ladies and gentlemen. That's a special stupid.
- 20:04And it angered me. I'm still angry just thinking
- 20:07about it. I'm really happy now though.
- 20:14When Roseanne came to YouTube and she put her face on video
- 20:18and she started talking, I knew that she was going to succeed
- 20:23again because she's relatable. She's not up on top of a
- 20:27mountain that's unreachable. She's not like some kind of Will
- 20:31Smith where she hides herself, and you never know really who
- 20:35that person is or what they're fucking doing.
- 20:38She's always talked to the peons on Earth, she always talked to
- 20:42the you and me out there, and she's always had no problem
- 20:48getting in the ring with anybody and shut.
- 20:51But she's gotten older. She's gotten wiser, obviously,
- 20:55and she's learned about how the unfortunately, how the game is
- 21:01played. She's learned it the hard way.
- 21:04She's also seen the the little splits in the sidewalk on that
- 21:08shit. And I'm so glad because now I
- 21:12get to come to YouTube, make my videos, spew out my bullshit.
- 21:17Obviously my perspective and position has changed.
- 21:20I totally believe in God. I love God.
- 21:23I'm not so happy about religion. I'm not a I'm not like, on
- 21:30anybody's side or team. Whenever it comes to that shit.
- 21:33When I know a lot of people look at it like that, I'm on God's
- 21:36team. But it's so good to see this
- 21:43woman blossom. She takes a hard hit.
- 21:49She has so many people trying to destroy her and she rises like
- 21:53the Phoenix and people are back to.
- 21:56I love Rosie, I love Rosie and a lot of the people who tried to
- 22:00burn her and destroy her. What's beautiful is you can tell
- 22:05even as an outside observer, that God took care of her and
- 22:09protected her. She's a miracle.
- 22:12They tried everything they could.
- 22:14They hit her with the kitchen sink and every one of these
- 22:17fucking pieces of trash ended up burning in the end.
- 22:20A lot of these politicians that attacked her, they lost all
- 22:24credibility. They've got no integrity.
- 22:26All the celebrities that fucking burned her, who are they now?
- 22:30You know they're going to be those pieces of shit that end up
- 22:33on VH1 ten years from now, talking about how they ruined
- 22:37their life and their career and all that shit.
- 22:40You know, like the old days bands used to do and Roseanne
- 22:44will go down as a legend, a legacy.
- 22:50Well, that's all I got to say about that.
- 22:53I guess the only regret I have with Roseanne is that I never
- 22:57had the opportunity to sit down and go fishing with her or just
- 23:01hang out and shoot the shed. It doesn't even have to be on
- 23:04camera, you know, I wouldn't mind.
- 23:07But to be honest with you, if Roseanne were there, like for
- 23:10some unusual reason, actually watch this video or anything I
- 23:15have to say and decide to invite me out there.
- 23:17A podcast. I'll be honest with you.
- 23:21I consider myself pretty brave. I consider myself pretty strong,
- 23:27and I could probably sit in front of somebody like Joe Rogan
- 23:30and I could sit in front of a whole lot of celebrities and and
- 23:33it wouldn't fucking faze me. I'd just carry on a
- 23:35conversation. But Rosie's got this, like,
- 23:38illuminating light about her. I think that I would be in awe
- 23:43and my knees would go weak and shed, and I'd probably feel a
- 23:46lot of fucking butterflies. I think I'd have a hard time
- 23:49talking to her because I hate to say it, because I'm.
- 23:53I do believe in God and all that.
- 23:55But in a way, as far as God, like in the human type of sense,
- 24:00she's like that. She is like the childhood mother
- 24:04that I've never had. So I find myself feeling like
- 24:08I'd be kind of uncomfortable being in the presence of such
- 24:12greatness, if that makes sense. I could do that with anybody
- 24:15else. I could stand there with the
- 24:17fucking Avengers, Captain America and Robert Downey
- 24:20Junior, but with Roseanne it would be like, oh boy, I can't
- 24:25believe I'm in the fucking same room.
- 24:27It'd be one of those things where I'm literally sweating
- 24:29like a fucking pig. Some of you probably would enjoy
