Scott’s Addition is getting its first permanent public park, thanks to a major community push led by Kevin and Christie Berry, who’re donating the bulk of their land’s appreciated value—after buying it for $241K in 2012 and seeing it skyrocket to $1.777M. The Capital Region Land Conservancy is contributing $600K, while local biz like Pizzeria Mungo and ZZQ/Eazzy Burger are chipping in, plus the Greater Scott’s Addition Association is donating $5K.
