- 0:01Speaker 1: So I've been going to Reddit a lot recently. And
- 0:05Speaker 1: this Reddit user asked people to share common knowledge facts
- 0:10Speaker 1: that they completely missed. Like he says, did you ever
- 0:13Speaker 1: find out something recently that everyone else seemed to know
- 0:15Speaker 1: years ago?
- 0:16Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good.
- 0:18Speaker 3: I'm like, that's a lot of things.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Like, did you know? I mean, I knew this.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Like, it's all the things where people are like, I
- 0:23Speaker 4: was two days old.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like we all know this, but
- 0:27Speaker 1: pickles are cucumbers.
- 0:28Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 0:29Speaker 1: That was number five on the list. People didn't know that.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Pickles are cucumbers. This was actually stupid, but I really
- 0:37Speaker 1: had to, like, read this to go, oh, yeah. Ponies...
- 0:41Speaker 1: are not baby horses.
- 0:42Speaker 3: They're not? They're just ponies.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Ponies are their own type of horse, and a baby
- 0:45Speaker 1: horse is called a foal. Fowl. Foal.
- 0:47Speaker 4: Foal.
- 0:48Speaker 1: But when you think about ponies, I always thought a
- 0:50Speaker 1: pony was a baby horse. Reindeers are real animals, not
- 0:54Speaker 1: just Santa's helpers.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yeah, they usually have them at schnip farms for like
- 0:58Speaker 2: the Christmas thing.
- 1:00Speaker 4: But they don't have their special power.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Do you know what chicken tenders are short for?
- 1:06Speaker 3: Chicken tendies?
- 1:07Speaker 4: Wait, they're short for something?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Chicken tenders.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Oh, chicken tenderloin.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Chicken tenderloins.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:11Speaker 1: A lot of people had no idea that chicken tenders
- 1:13Speaker 1: are short for chicken tenderloins.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I guess so. They do come out like strips.
- 1:19Speaker 1: People didn't know that pineapples grow from plants on the ground,
- 1:22Speaker 1: not on trees. I didn't know that. I thought it
- 1:26Speaker 1: was a pineapple tree.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Pineapples grow what?
- 1:28Speaker 1: Like a visual palm tree and pineapples hanging off the
- 1:32Speaker 1: top of the palm tree.
- 1:32Speaker 4: That would be pretty cool.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I guess you could make a case for that.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Like their coconuts? I don't know where you see pineapples from.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Where would they say they're from? A plant on the ground.
- 1:39Speaker 1: What does that mean? You see a whole freaking pineapple.
- 1:42Speaker 4: I've never seen a pineapple in its natural habitat, quite honestly.
- 1:46Speaker 1: The beetles. You know why they're called the beetles?
- 1:49Speaker 3: Because of the beet, right?
- 1:50Speaker 1: It's a play on the word beet, not bugs. They
- 1:53Speaker 1: thought it was the English spelling of beetle. And the
- 1:56Speaker 1: number one thing that people say, wow, I didn't know that.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I was 10 years old when I found out that
- 1:59Speaker 1: penguins are birds. Some people thought they were fish.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Penguins are... Oh, here's one that messes me up all
- 2:05Speaker 3: the time that I forget. Bananas are berries, but strawberries
- 2:08Speaker 3: are not berries.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That screws me up all the time. You heard that though, right? Wait, no, wait.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Strawberries are not berries?
- 2:12Speaker 3: Bananas are berries, but strawberries aren't because botanically, a berry
- 2:16Speaker 3: needs to develop from a single flower with only one Ovary.
- 2:20Speaker 3: So bananas qualify. Strawberries do not.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I thought it had something to do with the seed
- 2:24Speaker 1: and that's why tomatoes are fruits or something.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Tomatoes are considered fruit because they have seeds. And strawberry,
- 2:31Speaker 3: the seeds are on the outside.
- 2:32Speaker 1: So does that mean a cucumber is a fruit too
- 2:34Speaker 1: because they have seeds?
- 2:35Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it does.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I feel like we need to rework our definition of fruit.
- 2:40Speaker 3: But we like it.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Miriam Webster's dictionary is adding 1,400 words. Can we just redefine.
- 2:46Speaker 3: What a fruit is? Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 4: The sweet ones.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Quit screwing with our hearts.
- 2:53Speaker 1: You got something else? You were today years old when
- 2:55Speaker 1: you found out what? Text us. Text JJR. And whatever
- 2:59Speaker 1: it is you found out, the 96893 or call us
