- 0:00Speaker 1: Leggy, not Landy. Leggy is with us right now. He
- 0:04Speaker 1: joins us from a parking lot outside the Denver Broncos
- 0:09Speaker 1: facility right now, Jeff legwald Man, when when the Denver
- 0:14Speaker 1: Broncos make a selection at number twenty and you had
- 0:18Speaker 1: that guy, let's check number eight in the top one hundred,
- 0:24Speaker 1: do do you get up and start dancing an Irish
- 0:28Speaker 1: jig and just telling everybody I'm the smartest person in
- 0:31Speaker 1: the room, because Leggy, there you were saying, and I
- 0:37Speaker 1: remember reading this line when I read the top one hundred.
- 0:39Speaker 1: By the way, some people might scoff at Baron being
- 0:42Speaker 1: this high. Uh, why did you have him rated so highly?
- 0:47Speaker 2: Bye? It's just simply, you know, if Travis Hunter isn't
- 0:53Speaker 2: doing Travis Hunter amazing things, you know, Barns probably CB
- 1:00Speaker 2: one on most teams draft boards, and his versatility is lauded,
- 1:06Speaker 2: you know, universally. But he just got caught up in
- 1:10Speaker 2: the swirl in the public domain. I think because of
- 1:15Speaker 2: Travis Hunter's you know, two way prospects, and you know,
- 1:20Speaker 2: in a weird year when the quarterbacks were just so
- 1:23Speaker 2: much of the swirl, you know that the Broncos have
- 1:28Speaker 2: made it clear they as you know, after Miami picks
- 1:32Speaker 2: at like thirteen, they're staring up at their draft board
- 1:36Speaker 2: and Baron's name is up near the top, and then
- 1:39Speaker 2: there's this immense gap between the next group of players.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And when you're a team and you look up when
- 1:47Speaker 2: you're pi's approaching and you have that kind of gap,
- 1:51Speaker 2: it's a no brainer to take the player who's rated
- 1:55Speaker 2: so highly. And I have been told he was a
- 2:00Speaker 2: top ten player on their board. You know, again, a
- 2:04Speaker 2: no brainer, and such a no brainer that Sean Payton,
- 2:09Speaker 2: head coach of the Denver Broncos and noted offensive enthusiasts,
- 2:14Speaker 2: didn't even hesitate to take Baron with the first pick.
- 2:19Speaker 3: All right, well, that's great value. What makes him so valuable?
- 2:23Speaker 3: What position will he play?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Here? Is he?
- 2:26Speaker 3: Jeff the defensive joker?
- 2:29Speaker 2: He is? I mean he this is a guy again,
- 2:32Speaker 2: if we're not talking about Travis Hunter, this guy's versatility
- 2:35Speaker 2: would be would be lauded. He had at least five
- 2:40Speaker 2: hundred career snaps at Texas at outside corner, slot corner,
- 2:46Speaker 2: and safety, and that's almost unheard of in that level
- 2:51Speaker 2: of football to have that kind of versatility in a defense,
- 2:55Speaker 2: to be able to mentally learn it, and the physically
- 2:58Speaker 2: play it remarkable. And I and all of the tape
- 3:04Speaker 2: I reviewed of him, I did not see him miss
- 3:07Speaker 2: a single tackle, And I can't honestly remember the last
- 3:11Speaker 2: player I could say that about.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's a good sign right there. He was
- 3:15Speaker 1: the MVP defensive MVP of the Peach Bowl last year.
- 3:18Speaker 1: He had eleven tackles in that game against Arizona State.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Here's another one that jumped out of me LEGI when
- 3:23Speaker 1: I saw this, like, obviously four three, nine forty, the
- 3:26Speaker 1: measurables were really good on Baron. He had two defensive
- 3:31Speaker 1: pass interference flags thrown at him his last thirty five
- 3:36Speaker 1: collegiate games, which I mean immediately suggests there doesn't need
- 3:42Speaker 1: to be any easing in this guy is ready for
- 3:45Speaker 1: big time duty the moment that he walks onto an
- 3:48Speaker 1: NFL field.
- 3:50Speaker 2: You know, just learning the scheme is one thing, but
- 3:52Speaker 2: he might. You could make the argument on a talent equation,
- 3:58Speaker 2: he's he's as talented an outside corner as Riley Moss
- 4:04Speaker 2: and maybe better and as talented a nickel corner as
- 4:08Speaker 2: Jacon McMillan, and as talented as safety as PJ Locke.
- 4:12Speaker 2: So I you know, people always have been asking me, oh,
- 4:16Speaker 2: you know, where's he going to play. You know, they're
- 4:18Speaker 2: going to play him wherever they want to, and he's
- 4:21Speaker 2: going to be a not just a contributor. He is
- 4:25Speaker 2: going to make one of the league's best defenses a
- 4:28Speaker 2: really difficult riddle to solve because you cannot have enough
- 4:34Speaker 2: coverage guys like this, and you put this in a
- 4:36Speaker 2: secondary you're suddenly allowed to move Pats or Tanner around
- 4:41Speaker 2: more because of what this guy can do. And again,
- 4:45Speaker 2: for me, you know, as a long time draft guy,
- 4:49Speaker 2: value is everything to me, and this is such a
- 4:52Speaker 2: ridiculous no brainer. I can't even understand any of the
- 4:56Speaker 2: hand ringing. He is so much better than any receiver
- 4:59Speaker 2: that was on the board. And I keep hearing people
- 5:02Speaker 2: tell me what about Matthew Golden. I got news for you.
- 5:06Speaker 2: They have you know, they have Matthew Golden. His name's
- 5:10Speaker 2: Marvin Mims, and he's better. So you know, this is
- 5:14Speaker 2: a no brainer.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Like you along those lines, like adding strength to strength,
- 5:19Speaker 1: the way that the Broncos did, the fact that virtually
- 5:23Speaker 1: nobody had them mocked connected to a corner connected to Baron,
- 5:27Speaker 1: but the Broncos willingness to do that for the Broncos,
- 5:30Speaker 1: willingness to say at number twenty, we're gonna put value
- 5:34Speaker 1: above all else. What does that tell you about the
- 5:37Speaker 1: decision making process right now with the Broncos, Because I
- 5:40Speaker 1: think last night we saw some reaches, We saw some
- 5:44Speaker 1: interesting decision some interesting trades that were made. Last night.
- 5:47Speaker 1: The Broncos just hung out and did the sound thing.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, they did what good teams do. What the Ravens do,
- 5:54Speaker 2: what you know for the long you know, what the
- 5:56Speaker 2: Eagles do. This is what good teams do in the
- 5:59Speaker 2: draft is you're unafraid to add really good players and
- 6:04Speaker 2: just figure out the rest. You know, it's a talent business.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Teams with the most talent usually win the most games.
- 6:11Speaker 2: And sure it's character in chemistry and scheme and all
- 6:15Speaker 2: of those things, but talent is the foundation of it all.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And this guy was by far the most talented football
- 6:24Speaker 2: player available when they made their pick. And I think
- 6:27Speaker 2: it shows a level. I think the fact that Sean
- 6:31Speaker 2: Payton didn't hesitate like he he was saying last night,
- 6:35Speaker 2: you know, it's ridiculous to even think about that. There
- 6:39Speaker 2: was a decision making and you know, the interesting thing
- 6:43Speaker 2: is behind the scenes, and I talk to people. Usually
- 6:47Speaker 2: when the pick's approaching, there's there's not frantic, but there's
- 6:50Speaker 2: a lot of Okay, bring in the position coach to
- 6:54Speaker 2: talk about this guy, bring in the scout to talk
- 6:57Speaker 2: about this other guy quick, you know. But while we're
- 6:59Speaker 2: on the they didn't do any of that. Their pick
- 7:03Speaker 2: rolled up, they looked up, they saw Baron's name and
- 7:05Speaker 2: they put it in and that was it. And that's
- 7:08Speaker 2: what a big gap it was between him and the
- 7:12Speaker 2: other available players. And Sean Payton called the anything else
- 7:17Speaker 2: other than taking Baron? He used the phrase a trade
- 7:21Speaker 2: down scenario. So that tells you where the grades were
- 7:24Speaker 2: when they made the pick.
- 7:26Speaker 3: All right, we do want to get to talking about
- 7:28Speaker 3: today and what you think could happen, But before that,
- 7:30Speaker 3: I want to revisit one last point because this is
- 7:33Speaker 3: why I do like to pick. I always remember in
- 7:35Speaker 3: twenty fifteen, I asked you, as we started to figure
- 7:38Speaker 3: out that was a pretty special defense, why are they
- 7:40Speaker 3: so good? And you told me they could rush and
- 7:42Speaker 3: they could cover. Are the Broncos getting close to being
- 7:45Speaker 3: able to put that kind of combo again?
- 7:46Speaker 2: At that level, that's where you have to be, you know,
- 7:50Speaker 2: are you gonna win quarterback battles with Pat Mahomes? You know,
- 7:54Speaker 2: you've got to be able to answer and to answer
- 7:57Speaker 2: in today's NFL when you're in the nick defense, when
- 8:01Speaker 2: you're in a specialty defense seventy percent of the time,
- 8:04Speaker 2: I guess it's no longer specialty for one thing. But
- 8:08Speaker 2: you need at least four viable corners to play quality
- 8:13Speaker 2: defense in the league right now. And this guy himself
- 8:18Speaker 2: gives them four quality corners and three safeties and a
- 8:23Speaker 2: dime linebacker who can cover. And again, I'm being honest,
- 8:29Speaker 2: I cannot honestly remember the last prospect I evaluated who
- 8:33Speaker 2: I didn't see miss a tackle. It's so rare, and
- 8:38Speaker 2: it's anecdotal, I know, but I cannot remember the last guy.
- 8:42Speaker 2: This guy gets people on the ground, he makes plays
- 8:45Speaker 2: behind the line of scrimmage. It's rare. You even see
- 8:50Speaker 2: a completion against him in the SEC. So this is
- 8:56Speaker 2: a fabulous player. I think people's opinions may be clouded
- 9:01Speaker 2: because it's like, well, it'll be so good, how'd they
- 9:02Speaker 2: get him at twenty? Well, people make mistakes, and a
- 9:06Speaker 2: few years from now there will be a couple of
- 9:08Speaker 2: teams saying we probably shouldn't have taken that guard or
- 9:13Speaker 2: a defensive tackle instead.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Talking to Jeff Lakewell, he is outside the facility right now,
- 9:19Speaker 1: as the Round two will get going in about twenty
- 9:22Speaker 1: nine minutes or so, LEGGI, let's stay in the first
- 9:25Speaker 1: round for a moment. I want to continue to talk
- 9:27Speaker 1: about picks that you loved. One of them, I'm assuming,
- 9:31Speaker 1: and again Howie Roseman, big shock. But to Hod Campbell
- 9:35Speaker 1: going at thirty one to Philadelphia, the Eagles jumping up
- 9:39Speaker 1: a spot to go and get him. You had him
- 9:41Speaker 1: number eleven in your top one hundred. Hey again the Eagles,
- 9:45Speaker 1: what a concept. Just load up your defense with awesome,
- 9:48Speaker 1: fast SEC defenders. It's really worked out for those guys.
- 9:52Speaker 1: They're the Super Bowl champions. What else in the first
- 9:55Speaker 1: round where picks that kind of jumped out of you
- 9:57Speaker 1: and said, okay, that was really savvy, that was good.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Well, of course I'm gonna like the Walter Nolan pick.
- 10:05Speaker 2: You know, I had them a top five player in
- 10:07Speaker 2: my my little list. And you know, the Cardinals I
- 10:11Speaker 2: believe took them down the board. I think those three
- 10:15Speaker 2: defenders the Broncos taken Barren included were my three. Those
- 10:21Speaker 2: were the picks that really caught my eye. And and
- 10:24Speaker 2: you know the Ravens. The Ravens just hang in and
- 10:28Speaker 2: they take yet another player fits them perfectly.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Again, another team that had no problem Leggy adding strength
- 10:33Speaker 1: to strength and taking Malachi starts.
- 10:36Speaker 2: I'll how you do it? You know, I know it's
- 10:38Speaker 2: hard for people to accept, but the draft is a
- 10:41Speaker 2: value business and the good teams acquire talent and then
- 10:47Speaker 2: your job as professional football coaches is to figure out
- 10:51Speaker 2: how to disperse the talent. But it does you no
- 10:55Speaker 2: good the draft. A need player who you know, is
- 10:59Speaker 2: graded all behind the people you left up on the board.
- 11:03Speaker 2: It's because you're not adding talent. Then you're adding space fillers.
- 11:07Speaker 2: You know, it's like a football coaster. It's not helping you.
- 11:11Speaker 2: And I think that, like I say that, year after year,
- 11:16Speaker 2: the Super Bowl teams are usually draft built teams, and
- 11:20Speaker 2: the best draft built teams take the most talented players
- 11:23Speaker 2: when the picks roll around.
- 11:25Speaker 3: All right, what do we think we got on tap
- 11:27Speaker 3: for today? I mean, I know there's a lot left,
- 11:29Speaker 3: especially offensive.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Now.
- 11:32Speaker 3: It was interesting because in Matt Miller's mock draft, they've
- 11:35Speaker 3: got the defensive tackle out of Toledo possibly being the
- 11:38Speaker 3: Broncos second round pick at fifty one. Do you think
- 11:41Speaker 3: they could surprise us with more defensive Do you think
- 11:43Speaker 3: they go offensive today?
- 11:47Speaker 2: It will be a substantial shock to me if there
- 11:49Speaker 2: isn't at least one running back among these two picks,
- 11:53Speaker 2: because the strength of the board is the second round
- 11:56Speaker 2: is loaded with running backs, and they can they will
- 12:02Speaker 2: have at least three running backs available, or at least
- 12:06Speaker 2: one or two of the three running backs, and they've
- 12:08Speaker 2: spent a lot of time with I would expect would
- 12:10Speaker 2: be available at fifty one, either Samson atn or in
- 12:15Speaker 2: a quirky world, Henderson. And think one of those one
- 12:19Speaker 2: or two of those three I think will still be
- 12:21Speaker 2: on the board when they pick at fifty one, and
- 12:24Speaker 2: they've spent considerable time with all three.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Do you think Denver likes Gwin John Judkins, who could
- 12:29Speaker 1: also be there at fifty one.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Yeah, no, they again, they've spent some time with him.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I'm just saying those other three are probably a little
- 12:38Speaker 2: more of the more versatile player that they're looking for.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Judkins is is a really, really really good inside the
- 12:48Speaker 2: tackles runner, inside the hash marks and does have the
- 12:53Speaker 2: speed to get the corner so's he's a great back,
- 12:56Speaker 2: but I think their third down portfolio doesn't at much bigger,
- 13:01Speaker 2: at least his rookie and second year maybe down the line.
- 13:06Speaker 2: But the other guys have a little bigger third down
- 13:08Speaker 2: portfolio that I think helps them quicker.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Legy some interesting tight end stuff that happened last night,
- 13:14Speaker 1: and something else that Denver could potentially be looking at.
- 13:17Speaker 1: But Colston Lovelin ends up being the first tight end
- 13:21Speaker 1: off the board. Ben Johnson in Chicago take him at
- 13:24Speaker 1: number ten, no surprise, Indianapolis goes tight end. They take
- 13:27Speaker 1: Tyler Warren out of Penn State at number fourteen. You
- 13:31Speaker 1: have Mason Taylor out of LSU as your thirty fourth
- 13:35Speaker 1: ranked prospect in the top one hundred. He's your third
- 13:39Speaker 1: tight end on the board should he take a fall
- 13:42Speaker 1: to fifty one. Is that something that Denver would take
- 13:45Speaker 1: a look at.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Certainly, I know I could. I think my most likely
- 13:50Speaker 2: scenario in my mind tonight, if you ask me to
- 13:52Speaker 2: predict it would be running back tight end somewhere on
- 13:55Speaker 2: those two things, okay, because again that's gonna be sort
- 13:59Speaker 2: of the power of the board at that point and receiver,
- 14:01Speaker 2: of course, But I would caution people that Sean Payton
- 14:07Speaker 2: warned everyone before the draft when he said he liked
- 14:10Speaker 2: their wide receiver room a lot more than everybody else did.
- 14:14Speaker 2: So I don't think receiver is on their mind as
- 14:18Speaker 2: much as it is everybody else is. So I think
- 14:20Speaker 2: running back, tight end are the top two things they
- 14:25Speaker 2: hope for to come away with today. Real quick.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Just a point, just a little housekeeping note here. You
- 14:30Speaker 3: talked about how quickly the Broncos decided to make this pick.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Why then did the clock run so long? What happens?
- 14:38Speaker 3: Were they taking other calls just to make sure and
- 14:40Speaker 3: offered in knock their socks off? But if they know
- 14:42Speaker 3: so soon early, which I'm sure a lot of teams do,
- 14:45Speaker 3: why then do they let the clock run? Or is
- 14:47Speaker 3: that even just a TV thing?
- 14:50Speaker 2: It's a little of both. And you're gonna let the
- 14:51Speaker 2: clock run in case somebody calls you you don't want
- 14:55Speaker 2: to make the pick. So the legendary draft story always
- 15:00Speaker 2: that rings and any any people in the league who
- 15:03Speaker 2: have any sense of history, Uh, the eighty three they
- 15:07Speaker 2: fabled eighty three draft, Ernie A. Corsi didn't wait one
- 15:11Speaker 2: minute and he turned in the l Way pick for
- 15:14Speaker 2: Baltimore at number one without taking a single call. And
- 15:18Speaker 2: I think that's in your draft historians and your your
- 15:22Speaker 2: people who have been around the league, that that's something
- 15:26Speaker 2: they always fear, is that you you turned the card in,
- 15:29Speaker 2: and the offer that would have rocked you never made
- 15:32Speaker 2: it to your ear.
- 15:33Speaker 1: So Ernie of Corsi, the Nico Harrison of his day,
- 15:36Speaker 1: is what is telling us right there.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Only only because his owner made him and he decided
- 15:41Speaker 2: he was he was going to show his owner.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I'll show you, Jeff Legwald, can I make a humble request?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Can you hang through the break and chat with us
- 15:49Speaker 1: for a few more minutes before round two gets underway?
- 15:52Speaker 2: Sure?
- 15:53Speaker 1: Good?
- 15:53Speaker 3: He is your arm enjoying this? Yeah, to keep showing
- 15:56Speaker 3: us the Broncos thing. We know you cant just your
- 15:58Speaker 3: own position. Hey, can you show us the building that's up?
- 16:01Speaker 3: We're swing around a little bit. What's the construction doing?
- 16:04Speaker 2: You can't really see it? That's uh wall.
- 16:08Speaker 3: We don't have to walk to spin around.
- 16:09Speaker 2: We're okay. Oh, I got.
- 16:13Speaker 1: And stuff that you sucks?
- 16:15Speaker 3: Never sorry, you.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Got some gers, you got some girders and whatnot.
- 16:19Speaker 1: All right, Jeff, you know I have.
- 16:22Speaker 2: A powerful arm. I could do many segments.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Hang out for a minute. Uh, because we gotta we
- 16:28Speaker 1: got we gotta find out what's happening with Shador Sanders. Uh.
- 16:31Speaker 1: We need your insight on this, what you are hearing
- 16:35Speaker 1: and and just where he could be going tonight. We'll
- 16:38Speaker 1: do that with Jeff Legwall coming up here on the
- 16:40Speaker 1: other side. Draft conversation with Leggyekrikman and Lindahl. We're rolling
- 16:44Speaker 1: its Altitude Sports Radio Joe Altitude Sports Radio Native.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Watch the show on twitch pat Twitch dot tv Slash
- 16:55Speaker 3: Altitude sr brought to you by Safeway.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a Scott right on, Kreigman and Lyndall All
- 17:05Speaker 1: right back with Jeff Legwald here on a Friday afternoon.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Round one of the draft is in the books, Travis
- 17:12Speaker 1: Hunter ends up in Jacksonville, Ley before we get to Shador.
- 17:17Speaker 1: What was your reaction when Liam Cohen and when the
- 17:20Speaker 1: folks in Jacksonville were talking about their plan for Travis
- 17:24Speaker 1: Hunter of using him primarily primarily offensively at at the
- 17:30Speaker 1: start and working him in defensively. Do you think that
- 17:34Speaker 1: can work.
- 17:36Speaker 2: I'm sure they'll put together something that can work. Yeah,
- 17:40Speaker 2: it's just most of the people I've talked to have
- 17:43Speaker 2: said it's easier and for him and probably better for
- 17:48Speaker 2: him long term to go the other way. But no shot.
- 17:52Speaker 2: The head coach is the you know, offensive roots. Yeah
- 17:56Speaker 2: uh and and you know, I would think that's the
- 18:00Speaker 2: way he was leaning, you know, when they make the
- 18:03Speaker 2: trade so they can get him. I think that's what
- 18:05Speaker 2: they're thinking all along, is he's he's an offensive weapon,
- 18:08Speaker 2: and they they'll figure out. But I think it's much
- 18:11Speaker 2: harder to practice and get assignment sound as a as
- 18:18Speaker 2: a nickel corner or a fill in corner. I think
- 18:21Speaker 2: it makes him largely predictable on defense because they probably
- 18:26Speaker 2: have to put him at the outside spot only for
- 18:29Speaker 2: a while, and because the nickel requires so much study
- 18:34Speaker 2: and other things. But who knows. I mean, he's such
- 18:38Speaker 2: a rare player. He may do rare things going this
- 18:42Speaker 2: way as well.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Jeff Lakewell joining us from outside the Broncos facility. Round
- 18:47Speaker 1: two starting up in about thirteen minutes from now. LEGI
- 18:50Speaker 1: Shidor Sanders is still on the board. Why was he
- 18:53Speaker 1: not drafted in the first round?
- 18:55Speaker 2: Well, date, you know, I know I've talked with you guys.
- 18:59Speaker 2: I don't consider this a slide. I consider him to
- 19:02Speaker 2: be in the area where he was graded by most
- 19:05Speaker 2: teams I've talked to. I think the first round discussion
- 19:09Speaker 2: was largely a media discussion, frankly, and I did I'm
- 19:14Speaker 2: in the media.
- 19:16Speaker 1: I mean, Dad literally tweeted he was going to get
- 19:18Speaker 1: drafted in the top five.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Well, apparently his sources are not really good in the league,
- 19:24Speaker 2: and you know, welcome to my world, coach, you know,
- 19:29Speaker 2: get some sources. No, I mean, I think, you know,
- 19:33Speaker 2: I think that's if you're somebody's dad, that's what you
- 19:35Speaker 2: should say. If you're somebody's coach, that's what you should say.
- 19:37Speaker 2: That's what you want, it's what you're hoping for. But
- 19:41Speaker 2: I I can just give you my own personal experiences.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I've talked to no one in the pre draft process
- 19:49Speaker 2: that mentioned to me the possibility that he was a
- 19:52Speaker 2: top five quarterback. So I just I guess I've not
- 19:56Speaker 2: seen or I've been sort of this this draft. It's
- 20:00Speaker 2: just been very odd as someone who's done the draft
- 20:04Speaker 2: thing for a while, and that the difference between what
- 20:08Speaker 2: I was hearing from football people and what I was
- 20:11Speaker 2: seeing in public on a lot of players was vastly different.
- 20:15Speaker 2: And I think it's just one of those years, all right.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I want to get back to I want to get
- 20:21Speaker 3: back to Shador in his second here, Leggy. But I
- 20:24Speaker 3: got to ask you because Nate and I were talking
- 20:26Speaker 3: about this, and you're the only guy who could ask.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Do you think Sean Payton screws with some of his
- 20:30Speaker 3: guys in that meat? Do you think he messes with
- 20:32Speaker 3: helping like you know, oh yeah, we love our Omari
- 20:36Speaker 3: and hand. Oh yeah, we're trying to move up. It
- 20:38Speaker 3: just feels like he's the guy that would love to
- 20:40Speaker 3: see everybody putting this stuff out there so he could laugh.
- 20:43Speaker 3: And then I know he commented last night that some
- 20:45Speaker 3: of the stuff was so ridiculous he couldn't believe it.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Do you think he loves to watch the world burn
- 20:49Speaker 3: a little bit?
- 20:51Speaker 2: They all do, for I tell people all the time,
- 20:57Speaker 2: and there's a reason we call it a draft because
- 21:01Speaker 2: you will be mocked if you do one long enough.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Uh.
- 21:05Speaker 2: You know, if someone in the league hasn't made funny
- 21:09Speaker 2: to you at some point, you have not covered the draft.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I guess that's how it all right.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Is today the day for Shador because you know, there's
- 21:18Speaker 3: a lot of there's a lot of speculation that maybe
- 21:20Speaker 3: it isn't.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I have a hard time that the deepest anyone ever,
- 21:27Speaker 2: you know, any scout personnel guy or coach. Uh, you know,
- 21:31Speaker 2: it doesn't mean it was where he was on the
- 21:34Speaker 2: team's board. It just means their personal opinion. Uh. The
- 21:38Speaker 2: biggest one I heard all along was was in the sixties.
- 21:42Speaker 2: So I would think today is in staatement.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Why do you think the Giants preferred Jackson Dart to
- 21:48Speaker 1: Shador Sanders.
- 21:50Speaker 2: No, they did extensive work on all of them that
- 21:54Speaker 2: they met with with both of them individually, they did everything.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I think they just came away for the more comfortable
- 22:01Speaker 2: feeling after meeting with both in person. I think the
- 22:05Speaker 2: Giants may be one of the teams where uh the
- 22:08Speaker 2: interview with Shador didn't go as well as as expected
- 22:12Speaker 2: for the team. And again it's just it's a comfort level.
- 22:17Speaker 2: It's it's you know, sometimes it's basic. Teams have frameworks.
- 22:23Speaker 2: You know. Bill Parcells was known for years to have
- 22:26Speaker 2: heart and fast rules about how tall and a certain
- 22:30Speaker 2: position a taller guy had to be and there were
- 22:33Speaker 2: no exceptions. And Shaduur at just over six' one does
- 22:38Speaker 2: not fit a lot of quarterback evaluators profile. And it
- 22:44Speaker 2: could be something as simple as that. We may never
- 22:47Speaker 2: know the real reasons, but I think Dart is a
- 22:51Speaker 2: much bigger reach than Shador Sanders at that spot.
- 22:54Speaker 3: All right, we'll wrap it up so you can get inside.
- 22:56Speaker 3: It looks like everyone's assembling your best value left on
- 22:59Speaker 3: the board, because if he was, like, we didn't get
- 23:01Speaker 3: that typical overdraft going last night as much, did we?
- 23:05Speaker 1: No?
- 23:05Speaker 2: Uh, you know, I think one of my best values
- 23:08Speaker 2: would be a corner and Will Johnson. I don't know
- 23:11Speaker 2: my list in front.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Of me, the safety South Carolina. You ad, I'm fifteen
- 23:16Speaker 1: and he's still on the board.
- 23:18Speaker 2: But you know, again, defensive players. You know, I'm just
- 23:21Speaker 2: stacking the grades, and it's I think teams sometimes lean
- 23:26Speaker 2: the way the public does because they have owners. They
- 23:29Speaker 2: have team owners who want to sell pickets. They lean offense.
- 23:32Speaker 2: So a lot of times my best available guys are
- 23:35Speaker 2: defensive players.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Luther Burned the third by the way Legwald had him
- 23:39Speaker 1: in twenty three wide receiver out of Missouri. He is
- 23:42Speaker 1: also still available.
- 23:44Speaker 2: He was in the consideration here because he's the closest
- 23:47Speaker 2: thing on Marcus Colston on this draft board and very
- 23:51Speaker 2: similar players. He did get a look. He did get
- 23:54Speaker 2: a look for these guys, but he wasn't rated anywhere
- 23:57Speaker 2: close to mister Barron.
- 23:59Speaker 1: So how about that? So the Broncos take leg Wald's
- 24:02Speaker 1: number eight at number twenty. The Cowboys take Legwald's number
- 24:06Speaker 1: twenty two at twelve, that being the guard Tyler Booker
- 24:09Speaker 1: out of Alabama. So shout out to George and Sean Payton,
- 24:13Speaker 1: well done getting the value, Jeff Legwald. Everybody ESPN catches
- 24:17Speaker 1: stuff tonight, Leggy, excellent work man, Thank you.
- 24:21Speaker 2: I appreciate you. Guys. Hey, somewhere Mike Shanahan's had exploded
- 24:24Speaker 2: because three guards went in the first rout.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you gotta call him up. Do you text him?
- 24:31Speaker 2: You said him? Yeah, you need to just say this.
- 24:34Speaker 2: What do you think of those three guards in the
- 24:36Speaker 2: first round there? If he used emoji's, they would all
- 24:39Speaker 2: be the customers.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Jeff Legwald brought to you by the International Brotherhood of
- 24:44Speaker 1: Electrical Workers ib W Local sixty eight. You start with
- 24:48Speaker 1: the job, you end with a career.
