- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KF I
- 0:04Speaker 1: am six fortys.
- 0:12Speaker 2: The blockade is going to start US blockade and straight
- 0:15Speaker 2: up horror moves. Now, what the President is doing is
- 0:18Speaker 2: he's blockading the Iranian ports, not allowing Iranian ships to
- 0:23Speaker 2: trans to transfer translate, trans go across the strait of
- 0:30Speaker 2: horror moves. I get paid for.
- 0:31Speaker 1: This, and now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Here's Bill Handle. Hello everybody. You know, my allergies wrapping
- 0:46Speaker 2: up and I'm gonna be sneezing like crazy today too.
- 0:49Speaker 2: All right, good morning to one and all amy, Good.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Morning, Good morning, there you are?
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah, happy Camper's kno, there you are, kno. I was
- 1:04Speaker 2: trying to see if Neil was there. He's still not there, Okay, yeah,
- 1:07Speaker 2: I was wondering Neil is now around. I don't see him.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Will Colesreper, Good morning, Phil Handle Oh yes, sir, and
- 1:14Speaker 2: and good morning Hi Bill. Yeah there you are wearing
- 1:18Speaker 2: your dot wow. Yeah, wearing your Dodgers you know sweater
- 1:23Speaker 2: they are good for you. How dare you? I didn't
- 1:28Speaker 2: know that the Dodgers wore. I thought there was the
- 1:31Speaker 2: boys in Blue. I mean, she is wearing the boys
- 1:33Speaker 2: in brown. Hold on, hold on, I'm getting some no, yes,
- 1:39Speaker 2: uh huh, Bill POD's oh yeah, Padres, Oh yeah, I
- 1:43Speaker 2: forgot that. How do you live in Los Angeles? And yeah?
- 1:48Speaker 2: Not enjoy the Dodgers?
- 1:52Speaker 3: There are so many things that I don't like and
- 1:54Speaker 3: making it really difficult to live.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Yeah that's a good point. Yeah we can go through that. Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 2: angry every day. Yeah that's absolutely true. Yeah, all right,
- 2:05Speaker 2: Neil is here, he's he's jumping Okay, Will did I
- 2:09Speaker 2: say good morning to you because I've already forgotten? Okay?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Uh yeah, that's uh, thank you. That's the impact you
- 2:16Speaker 2: make on me, very very strong. Thank you. All right,
- 2:19Speaker 2: as we wait for Neil to come on board, and
- 2:21Speaker 2: when was went on with Neil this morning and running
- 2:24Speaker 2: a little bit late? Okay, he's jumping on. Yeah, no understand,
- 2:29Speaker 2: I understand. Let me see what's going on. We've got
- 2:31Speaker 2: a great story, my god, with uh that Jesus story
- 2:35Speaker 2: and the president. Well obviously we're going to talk about that. Hey,
- 2:39Speaker 2: I have a question to ask because it started. I
- 2:42Speaker 2: was yesterday I was watching CNN, which I do and Fox.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Uh and as you know, I go through the list,
- 2:48Speaker 2: so uh, CNN last night started with that story. Uh.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Every hour as I was watching back and forth, Uh great, Uh,
- 2:59Speaker 2: I was turning the Fox. Did they even show that story?
- 3:03Speaker 2: I don't even know if they covered that story, because
- 3:05Speaker 2: every time I tuned in, it was How did they
- 3:11Speaker 2: deal with it? CNN ripped Trump, I mean just ripped him.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Fox wasn't happy about it either.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Oh good, all right, because it was crazy. It was
- 3:22Speaker 2: just crazy. Yeah, and some Christians are not very happy
- 3:25Speaker 2: about it. We'll talk it about a little bit later on.
- 3:27Speaker 2: But the only reason I asked that question is because
- 3:32Speaker 2: the CNN reveled in that story, I mean wallowed in
- 3:37Speaker 2: that story. It was you know, when you have a
- 3:40Speaker 2: little kid going well, for example, the first time I
- 3:43Speaker 2: went to Disneyland and Amy, you'll appreciate this. It's an
- 3:47Speaker 2: it's an overwhelming feeling that hits you and it's one
- 3:52Speaker 2: of the most exciting days of your life. That was
- 3:54Speaker 2: CNN yesterday.
- 3:57Speaker 3: They were very happy.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah, they were gives them a lot of content. They
- 4:02Speaker 2: were thrilled, just thrilled. Okay, Oh, New York Times too.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I hate Trump. I did because I read the New
- 4:12Speaker 2: York Times every morning. They rip into him. It's kind
- 4:16Speaker 2: of interesting to see. There's very little unbiased coverage of
- 4:22Speaker 2: the president. It's fascinating to see. Okay, uh now, uh,
- 4:28Speaker 2: let me tell you what what else is going on?
- 4:29Speaker 2: We got that, We got that, we have that. Let
- 4:32Speaker 2: me tell you grab the news. Okay, it is time
- 4:34Speaker 2: for handle on the news with Amy. I have no
- 4:39Speaker 2: idea where Neil is. And Cono. You said he's coming aboard.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Yeah, nature called, and he was called Nature called. Oh
- 4:50Speaker 3: it happens sounds like a handle.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Excuse uh, yeah, excuse me. I'm uh, I'm following nature here.
- 4:59Speaker 2: All right, let's do it. Lead Sorry, Okay. Now we're
- 5:07Speaker 2: looking at maybe the resumption of the US Iran talks.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Are they getting a little bit closer? The President said
- 5:15Speaker 2: that Iran is desperate to come to the table. Iran
- 5:19Speaker 2: says that I think they are willing to talk, but
- 5:22Speaker 2: there has been no agreement made on any point yet
- 5:26Speaker 2: any point. What's being reported now is that Iran is
- 5:31Speaker 2: offering to withhold or offering to not continue it's enrichment
- 5:37Speaker 2: program for five years. The US once twenty years, and
- 5:41Speaker 2: that's the last I heard in According to the Strait
- 5:43Speaker 2: of Hormuz, still being blockaded by Iran, now the United
- 5:47Speaker 2: States also blockading ships leaving Iranian ports. So Iranian ships
- 5:54Speaker 2: they're done as far as the US blockade is concerned.
- 5:58Speaker 2: And that's nearly.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Going to Iran. They can't get their oil out.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Oh no kidding, because eighty percent, ninety percent of their
- 6:04Speaker 2: income comes from oil. I mean, it's gonna it's gonna
- 6:06Speaker 2: really hurt Iran. It's gonna hurt us too, but not
- 6:09Speaker 2: as badly. I mean, oil price is going to go up.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Businesses suffer. But you know, Iran is looking at its
- 6:16Speaker 2: economy collapsing. But it doesn't matter. It's already collapsing. You know,
- 6:20Speaker 2: that regime doesn't care. As long as it stays in power,
- 6:24Speaker 2: it will let the entire population starve to death, much
- 6:27Speaker 2: like hamas with Gaza. It doesn't matter. The people of
- 6:31Speaker 2: those countries are not only secondary, they're not even tertiary.
- 6:36Speaker 2: They're way down the list. All right, So we're going
- 6:40Speaker 2: to talk about that coming up at seven am.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Sorry, kids, you gotta go to school today. We had
- 6:47Speaker 3: a walk out looming in the La School District, but
- 6:50Speaker 3: the district and SEIU Local ninety nine reached a tentative
- 6:55Speaker 3: settlement or agreement early this morning and that affects about
- 6:59Speaker 3: thirty thousand and support workers. It was the third of
- 7:03Speaker 3: the three unions to come to an agreement, and that
- 7:07Speaker 3: means that three hundred and ninety thousand students who likely
- 7:10Speaker 3: went to sleep last night thinking they weren't getting up
- 7:12Speaker 3: and having to go to school this morning get.
- 7:14Speaker 2: To go to school. Yeah, last minute.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Two ams when they announced it.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Can you imagine, And the strike was supposed to happen
- 7:23Speaker 2: this morning.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Yep.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So this was a few hours before the strike, and
- 7:26Speaker 2: everybody was ready to go too. I mean, the signs
- 7:30Speaker 2: were up, the rallies were figured out, the school district
- 7:34Speaker 2: already had in place food banks so the kids could
- 7:40Speaker 2: or could eat because they weren't they weren't going to
- 7:44Speaker 2: be taken care of daycare of some kind. All right, Amy,
- 7:49Speaker 2: We're going to go back and forth on this, yep.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Okay, so we know it. Eric smallwell he's leaving. He
- 7:57Speaker 3: announced that he was not going to be running for governor,
- 8:00Speaker 3: and now he says he will resign from Congress, although
- 8:03Speaker 3: he vehemently denies he did anything wrong.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Well, the congressional issue is done. Now you have a
- 8:13Speaker 2: criminal issue, and investigation is opened up by the DA's
- 8:17Speaker 2: office in Manhattan because one of the allegations happened there.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And boy, this was a quick fall, wasn't it. Yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 2: he went from absolutely not to and I'm still running
- 8:27Speaker 2: for governor and this is a political diatribe and this
- 8:30Speaker 2: is a political attack to okay, I'm not running for governor.
- 8:33Speaker 2: And then the call for his resignation. Nope, not going
- 8:36Speaker 2: to resign. He resigned and admitted. You know, why is
- 8:40Speaker 2: it these people admit mistakes. You know, it's always mistakes
- 8:45Speaker 2: that they admit. Let me tell you what a mistake
- 8:49Speaker 2: is a mistake is when you're reconciling your bank account
- 8:54Speaker 2: and there is an error, that's a mistake. When you
- 8:59Speaker 2: are a cute used of sexual impropriety by a number
- 9:03Speaker 2: of women, I think that goes beyond a mistake. Okay,
- 9:09Speaker 2: So the next story, also, because you have a you
- 9:12Speaker 2: have a Democrat who is resigning from office to amy,
- 9:17Speaker 2: how about the Republican.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Texas Representative Tony Gonzalez is also out. Now he's not
- 9:23Speaker 3: resigning immediately, He's retiring. As he said, he said he
- 9:27Speaker 3: wasn't going to run for reelection, but now he's he's
- 9:30Speaker 3: going to retire. And he said there is a season
- 9:32Speaker 3: for everything, and God has a plan for us all.
- 9:35Speaker 3: When Congress returns tomorrow, I will file my retirement from office.
- 9:40Speaker 3: What the heck is that?
- 9:42Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Well, so he's the one who he cheated on his
- 9:45Speaker 3: wife and then the woman he had an affair with
- 9:50Speaker 3: apparently committed suicide.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah, self emulation burned herself. I mean that isn't didn't
- 9:57Speaker 2: she do that?
- 9:58Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I think she did anyway, In any case, she didn't.
- 10:02Speaker 2: She did see Niel's back. Okay, uh, nature has allowed
- 10:07Speaker 2: Neil to return, and yeah, Neil Como Kono said that
- 10:13Speaker 2: you called the nature had been involved here to know why?
- 10:19Speaker 2: Let you make.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Stuff up because it's more fun that way.
- 10:22Speaker 2: It is more fun.
- 10:23Speaker 4: They're going to have to change it from truth social
- 10:26Speaker 4: to full of crap social. Trump and his explanation for
- 10:30Speaker 4: the image of himself. You remember the one that makes
- 10:33Speaker 4: him look exactly like Jesus doing exactly Jesus things exactly
- 10:39Speaker 4: in a Jesus way. While he says that that was
- 10:44Speaker 4: him being a doctor.
- 10:46Speaker 2: That's what he thought. It was, portraying him being a doctor.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Well, this is one of those things where he posted this,
- 10:53Speaker 4: this was what this wasn't him, you know, reposting somebody.
- 10:58Speaker 4: He said, I view that pig sure of me as
- 11:01Speaker 4: a doctor fixing. You had the red Cross right there,
- 11:05Speaker 4: you had you know, medical people surrounding me, and I
- 11:08Speaker 4: was like a doctor, you know, as a little fun
- 11:11Speaker 4: playing the doctor and making people better. So that's what
- 11:15Speaker 4: it was viewed as. That's what most people thought.
- 11:18Speaker 2: God.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Yes, if you don't call out things like January sixth,
- 11:25Speaker 4: you don't call out the bs of things like this,
- 11:28Speaker 4: then you are a pawn. You are in a cult,
- 11:32Speaker 4: and you have swallowed the kool aid man because this
- 11:36Speaker 4: guy went off the freaking rails and and put up
- 11:42Speaker 4: an image of him as the God, as God himself,
- 11:49Speaker 4: and that ripped into the pope.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Shame on you.
- 11:52Speaker 4: If you politics override your freaking faith, you wird.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Let's parse this a little bit. Comes out with I
- 12:02Speaker 2: thought I was a doctor being depicted as a doctor. JD.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Vance comes out with explaining it where the President was
- 12:12Speaker 2: making a joke. And I don't know if you've seen
- 12:16Speaker 2: the video that Vance's office has just released of the
- 12:21Speaker 2: Pope slapping his thigh and going that's a good one.
- 12:25Speaker 4: That's a real good one. And then talk about your
- 12:30Speaker 4: fake news. Oh yeah, you know he said that they
- 12:35Speaker 4: took it down and he said he didn't want to
- 12:38Speaker 4: have anybody be confused. People were confused. Well, did most
- 12:43Speaker 4: of the people see him as a doctor or were people.
- 12:46Speaker 2: No, you know what saw him as a doctor. Here's
- 12:49Speaker 2: the one part that I would love to be a
- 12:51Speaker 2: fly on the wall. Okay. The backlash goes crazy, obviously,
- 12:56Speaker 2: and at the White House now they're doing some kind
- 13:00Speaker 2: of control, right They're trying to figure out how to
- 13:03Speaker 2: control this and how to respond. Who sits around and goes,
- 13:07Speaker 2: oh my god, how do we explain this? H oh,
- 13:10Speaker 2: let's do this doctor business? Or do you think Trump
- 13:13Speaker 2: came out up with it himself? Last night? I saw,
- 13:17Speaker 2: you know, during Halloween.
- 13:19Speaker 4: They do the spirit Halloween costumes and they make these
- 13:25Speaker 4: and there was one and it was a Jesus costume
- 13:27Speaker 4: and it said doctor costume. It was the fact is,
- 13:32Speaker 4: and people always freak out because they say, I don't
- 13:35Speaker 4: land anywhere. I'm landing hard. I always land somewhere. What
- 13:39Speaker 4: I don't do is pull the rope for one particular party.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Neil. Okay, Neil, you're talking like a religious fanatic. Oh
- 13:48Speaker 2: I forgot you are a religious fanatic. I take that back,
- 13:51Speaker 2: call it as you see it.
- 13:53Speaker 4: No, this is something that the right, the Christian rights
- 13:56Speaker 4: should be pissed off about.
- 13:58Speaker 2: I think they are swallowed. Yeah, they are. They are.
- 14:02Speaker 2: There are a couple of fundamental Christians who are saying,
- 14:06Speaker 2: look at what he has done, look at the good
- 14:08Speaker 2: he has done. Don't pay attention to simply a post.
- 14:12Speaker 2: But the rest of them are going that this has
- 14:14Speaker 2: crossed the line.
- 14:15Speaker 3: But I think the post itself is pretty universally like,
- 14:19Speaker 3: people who are strong supporters are like, what the heck
- 14:22Speaker 3: was he thinking?
- 14:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he's not thinking, all right? Moving on?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Trump louses another round? Or did he? A federal judge
- 14:32Speaker 3: has dismissed President Trump's defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street
- 14:36Speaker 3: Journal over its reporting on remember that birthday letter to
- 14:40Speaker 3: Jeffrey Epstein that was shaped like a woman's body that
- 14:46Speaker 3: came out and everybody was on fire about them. Yeah. So,
- 14:49Speaker 3: the judge said that Trump failed to plausibly allege that
- 14:54Speaker 3: the Rupert Murdoch owned newspaper acted with actual malice when
- 14:58Speaker 3: it reported that story. Left the door open. They can
- 15:02Speaker 3: refile an amended complaint.
- 15:04Speaker 2: It was just the allegations or the complaint was just
- 15:07Speaker 2: technically wrong, that's all. And so what ends up happening
- 15:11Speaker 2: is those are dismissed and then the judge goes, now,
- 15:13Speaker 2: go ahead and refile this correctly. Leave me alone at
- 15:17Speaker 2: this point.
- 15:18Speaker 3: So here's the question then to you, Bill, But like
- 15:21Speaker 3: lawyers should know this, why don't they file it correctly
- 15:23Speaker 3: the first time?
- 15:24Speaker 2: You got me on this one? You really have me.
- 15:28Speaker 2: And the lawsuits that are filed by the administration and
- 15:32Speaker 2: Trump's personal lawyers are so insane they make absolutely no sense,
- 15:39Speaker 2: particularly the lawsuits that were filed to invalidate the twenty
- 15:43Speaker 2: twenty election. I mean none of them made any sense,
- 15:47Speaker 2: made up allegations, no proof whatsoever, to the point where
- 15:52Speaker 2: judges got really angry.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Just file off, he says, file this, and they say, well,
- 15:59Speaker 4: it really isn't going to go through.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I don't care. File it right.
- 16:04Speaker 3: But what would be the point in that if they
- 16:07Speaker 3: know that it's going to get tossed out anyway, it's
- 16:09Speaker 3: just making more work, Like try to do it right
- 16:12Speaker 3: the first time.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Well, the argument is going to be that you're forcing
- 16:16Speaker 2: the opposition to bring another motion up there to have
- 16:19Speaker 2: it dismissed. Now, I don't know if this was pursuing
- 16:22Speaker 2: to the judge simply ordering the dismissal, or it was
- 16:26Speaker 2: in response to a motion that was made by the Murdoch.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Folks don't know the answer, but quite often I think
- 16:34Speaker 2: what the Trump people do, and Trump specifically is files
- 16:38Speaker 2: lawsuits against people that he knows he's going to lose
- 16:42Speaker 2: and has no merit. But the Department of Justice going
- 16:46Speaker 2: after someone, the defense costs are astronomical and it can
- 16:53Speaker 2: break people, and a lot of that. I think that
- 16:58Speaker 2: has a lot to do with it. It's what's hilarious
- 17:02Speaker 2: is the reason that Trump is going after all these
- 17:05Speaker 2: individuals because the Department of Justice was weaponized. And this
- 17:10Speaker 2: is how he's fighting the weaponization of the Department of
- 17:14Speaker 2: Justice by going after people who there's no chance of
- 17:19Speaker 2: any kind of an outcome. That they call that papering somebody.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, you can just put you paper someone to death.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, all right.
- 17:28Speaker 4: So we had been talking about the Brian Hooker story.
- 17:31Speaker 4: He was the one who was an American guy who
- 17:35Speaker 4: left his wife, fell for his description overboard, vanished in
- 17:41Speaker 4: rough waters there in the Bahamas. He was taken into
- 17:46Speaker 4: custody on Wednesday last week and now he has been
- 17:51Speaker 4: released from custody without charges, and he was questioned about
- 17:56Speaker 4: his wife's disappearance. It's unclear whether he's going to be
- 18:01Speaker 4: required to stay there in the Bahamas or not, but
- 18:03Speaker 4: the investigation is continuing, of course.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of holes in his story that that's
- 18:09Speaker 2: the allegation. It's just e and he says that she
- 18:12Speaker 2: was swept overboard and she didn't have a life jacket
- 18:16Speaker 2: on and he tried to save her. But anyway, fewer
- 18:22Speaker 2: and fewer people are believing his story, so we'll see
- 18:25Speaker 2: what happens on that one.
- 18:27Speaker 3: The hippos days are numbered. Columbia is planning to cull
- 18:34Speaker 3: the crowd of hippos that are roaming freely in the
- 18:38Speaker 3: area in the center of the country. So these hippos
- 18:43Speaker 3: are there because drug lord Pablo Escobar brought the first
- 18:48Speaker 3: ones in and said, wouldn't it be cool if we
- 18:50Speaker 3: had hippos. They're known as the cocaine hippos, and they're
- 18:54Speaker 3: taking over the area.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll be yeah, meaning they are, Oh, they're.
- 19:01Speaker 3: The big five in Africa. They're one of the most deadly.
- 19:04Speaker 2: And they are I mean more people die in Africa
- 19:07Speaker 2: because of hippo attacks than any other way of dying.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I mean, you know how you can tell when they're
- 19:14Speaker 2: mad their little ears wiggle?
- 19:16Speaker 3: Oh huh, you learned that at Disneyland is.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm the jungle right enough. You got to use
- 19:21Speaker 2: a cap gun get them out. I'm going to do
- 19:25Speaker 2: that story coming up at seven point fifty.
- 19:30Speaker 4: This was sad and I saw this come over social
- 19:33Speaker 4: media yesterday from many people I followed that knew the
- 19:36Speaker 4: man sid Croft, you know Land of the Loss, h R.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Puff and Stuff and every other pot induced puppeteer show
- 19:45Speaker 4: growing up.
- 19:48Speaker 2: He has passed away. He died. He was ninety six,
- 19:51Speaker 2: and he looked great.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Still, h I don't call that sad.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I don't either. That's a life well lived at ninety.
- 19:58Speaker 4: But those kinds of crazy native people seem few and
- 20:02Speaker 4: far between these days, So I don't know creativity when
- 20:05Speaker 4: it dies is sad. But you're right, he did live
- 20:08Speaker 4: a good life surrounded by puppets who would hate that.
- 20:11Speaker 2: That's right, they were just like you. There he was
- 20:14Speaker 2: on his deathbeds, surrounded by all the puppets. That's actually
- 20:19Speaker 2: a very funny visual. Well done.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Yeah, trust but verify when it comes to AI, or
- 20:27Speaker 3: maybe don't trust. Three attorneys are now facing disciplinary are
- 20:32Speaker 3: facing discipline rather from the State Bar of California war
- 20:37Speaker 3: citing non existent legal decisions in court documents. They submitted
- 20:42Speaker 3: that we're written using artificial intelligence.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Yeah, those hallucinations because they went to fill in the blanks.
- 20:50Speaker 2: AI will just make stuff up. Just make it up
- 20:55Speaker 2: your honor. In the case of Fozzy Bear v. Curve It,
- 20:59Speaker 2: we believe the people of the United States.
- 21:02Speaker 4: There's a shirt I saw the other day that said
- 21:05Speaker 4: graduated from or what was it, the law School of
- 21:10Speaker 4: AI or something like that.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Pretty sad state of Yeah, but there are programs now
- 21:16Speaker 2: that tell you when there is AI. Yeah, it's I
- 21:21Speaker 2: tell you the legal profession. AI has decimated the legal profession.
- 21:26Speaker 2: It truly has. I mean, there's no such thing as
- 21:28Speaker 2: legal secretaries anymore, even pair ofegals research.
- 21:32Speaker 4: I mean, I think it will do more, and I've
- 21:34Speaker 4: said this before on the show, do more to hit
- 21:37Speaker 4: law and medicine than it will the average job.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, it's very difficult to get a plumber out.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Who is a computer program? Yeah? Where do you put
- 21:47Speaker 2: the butt crack? Exactly?
- 21:50Speaker 4: You know, there's only one time you're going to put
- 21:52Speaker 4: together Phil Collins and the Wu Tang Clan, and that
- 21:55Speaker 4: is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are
- 21:58Speaker 4: inductees along with Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Queen Latifah, Oasis
- 22:04Speaker 4: Uh and Joy Division. You order anymore going into the
- 22:11Speaker 4: shut a, going into the Rock and Roll.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Hall of Fame. You know, I actually know most of
- 22:15Speaker 2: these names. Who's a big boy now? Give you? Yeah? No. Usually,
- 22:20Speaker 2: usually when you mentioned groups that I never heard of those,
- 22:23Speaker 2: never heard of those, But this one I do. I
- 22:26Speaker 2: know that virtually the entire lineup here very good. I
- 22:30Speaker 2: have no idea. What UH said? Is that Sade Saddy
- 22:34Speaker 2: Enjoy Division. Yeah, okay, like your dress, that's pronounced, but
- 22:41Speaker 2: that's spelled s A d E, right, so uh, there's
- 22:45Speaker 2: an eighth in there that that doesn't exist. And Monica
- 22:49Speaker 2: is spelled with a c.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Uh.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Well, don't hurt you, but it's it's but it's in.
- 22:57Speaker 2: It's okay, moving on.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Didn't see it coming. The director of the Texas summer
- 23:04Speaker 3: camp Camp Mystic, where twenty seven campers and councilors were
- 23:09Speaker 3: killed over the Fourth of July weekend in twenty twenty
- 23:12Speaker 3: five by that flooding, said that he didn't see official
- 23:15Speaker 3: warnings issued the day before the storm hit, that staff
- 23:19Speaker 3: did not have meetings about the pending danger, and that
- 23:21Speaker 3: they did not make the call to evacuate until it
- 23:24Speaker 3: was too late. Edward Eastland said he acknowledged that lives
- 23:28Speaker 3: could have been saved if camp staff had acted sooner,
- 23:31Speaker 3: but insisted that they could not have anticipated the severity
- 23:35Speaker 3: of the storm.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Here's the problem with that. I can understand. We didn't
- 23:39Speaker 2: get the word, we didn't have meetings because we didn't
- 23:43Speaker 2: anticipate the storm. Oh buy all that they were in
- 23:46Speaker 2: a flood zone, and they knew that that was a
- 23:49Speaker 2: flood zone in the Guadalupe River. That's the problem. And
- 23:53Speaker 2: they had asked for a waiver and got it years before.
- 23:57Speaker 2: And so because this is all part of lawsuits, can
- 24:00Speaker 2: you imagine. I don't know how this still. I don't
- 24:01Speaker 2: know how Camp Mystic is still in business. Number one,
- 24:04Speaker 2: number two. They're opening up again, and according to them,
- 24:09Speaker 2: nine hundred girls have already signed up to go to
- 24:12Speaker 2: Camp Mystic this summer.
- 24:14Speaker 4: I know it's maybe superstitious at this point, but who
- 24:17Speaker 4: the hell would let their kid go there?
- 24:19Speaker 2: It's just or the argument is lightning doesn't strike at
- 24:25Speaker 2: the same place twice, so they are moving the cabins
- 24:29Speaker 2: further up from the river bed. Yeah, I mean that
- 24:34Speaker 2: was just crazy. Well, it's poor kids died and a
- 24:37Speaker 2: couple of counselors and I don't I don't know how many,
- 24:39Speaker 2: what twenty something kids died? Girls? All right?
- 24:44Speaker 4: The Fred Brown Recovery Service is seeking to acquire five
- 24:49Speaker 4: acre property on Western Avenue in the San Pedro area,
- 24:54Speaker 4: and this is for a proposed addiction recovery center. There
- 24:58Speaker 4: more than two hundred people that live near there are arguing,
- 25:02Speaker 4: not in our backyard.
- 25:04Speaker 2: They don't want to share the property with it, and
- 25:09Speaker 2: they say it's not fit for their neighborhood. Well, everybody
- 25:12Speaker 2: would say that. And so let's say you have a
- 25:16Speaker 2: home near there, all right, all of a sudden, and
- 25:18Speaker 2: you you know, you spent your life savings, you've been
- 25:20Speaker 2: there forever, and you know it's just a great home,
- 25:22Speaker 2: and all of a sudden, you are looking at one
- 25:25Speaker 2: hundred and twenty two bad inpatient recovery facility a thousand
- 25:30Speaker 2: people on an outpatient basis. Uh yeah, I would pretty
- 25:35Speaker 2: well argue that's not such a good idea. But then
- 25:37Speaker 2: where do you put them.
- 25:38Speaker 4: One of my favorite all time Bill Handle quotes from
- 25:42Speaker 4: a bazillion years ago, similar story, and you are all
- 25:46Speaker 4: it has to go somewhere.
- 25:47Speaker 2: It has to go somewhere.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Someone called in and said, how could you say that
- 25:51Speaker 4: that you don't want to in your backyard, but it
- 25:53Speaker 4: has to go somewhere, And you go, simple, I'm a hypocrite,
- 25:57Speaker 4: And then I'm up on them.
- 26:00Speaker 2: It was all tape time favorite Handle moments.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Easy Yeah, eighty six and the seven elevens. Seven eleven
- 26:10Speaker 3: is closing six hundred and forty five of its locations
- 26:14Speaker 3: during this fiscal year, which is between now and February
- 26:17Speaker 3: of twenty twenty seven. It's part of a sweeping overhaul
- 26:20Speaker 3: to close down the struggling storefronts, opening up larger footprints
- 26:26Speaker 3: and offering a whole lot more grub. It's going to
- 26:28Speaker 3: look less like a corner store, more like a cass
- 26:31Speaker 3: Fast casual pit stop with pre prepared foods, drinks, and
- 26:35Speaker 3: an upgraded in story experience.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah sometime did I go to seven eleven to grab
- 26:40Speaker 2: one of their bad sandwiches or whatever? Yeah, I'm looking
- 26:44Speaker 2: forward to that. Also, they are to my home. The
- 26:47Speaker 2: least I want to the less I want to go
- 26:49Speaker 2: in also the politics of it, because I think there
- 26:52Speaker 2: was a political backlash and they're now going to also
- 26:55Speaker 2: hire people that work there who are not Indian, and
- 26:59Speaker 2: it's oh.
- 26:59Speaker 4: Boy, hello, they're trying to appeal to the younger crowd.
- 27:07Speaker 4: They're gonna call it six seve.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, I think we have time for I
- 27:13Speaker 2: think we have time for one more.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Uh of a Okay, residents file a lawsuit as sewer
- 27:23Speaker 4: encasement projects cut thirty feet into Huntington Beach backyards. Another nimby,
- 27:29Speaker 4: They don't want you to cut into their backyards.
- 27:31Speaker 2: This is two dozen. But these are easements. They're already there,
- 27:36Speaker 2: and they're recorded easements, and people are building and I
- 27:39Speaker 2: don't know how you can get any kind of a
- 27:42Speaker 2: permit to build on top of an easement, but people,
- 27:46Speaker 2: theseman's been there since the sixties and they've never done
- 27:48Speaker 2: anything about it. So you're talking about an easement. That's
- 27:50Speaker 2: what ninety years eighty years old?
- 27:52Speaker 4: Okay, Well, does an easement if you don't do anything
- 27:55Speaker 4: about it, does it? It's still there? No, it's still there.
- 27:59Speaker 4: And easan is an easeman as part of the title.
- 28:02Speaker 4: And usually these easements are just like this one. Utilities
- 28:06Speaker 4: have easements.
- 28:07Speaker 2: They go into the back of the property where they
- 28:09Speaker 2: run power lines underground, that sort of thing. Those are
- 28:12Speaker 2: the easements that are there, and virtually everybody if there's
- 28:16Speaker 2: a phone line anywhere near there which isn't up on
- 28:18Speaker 2: the pole, or a line that what do you call it,
- 28:23Speaker 2: a computer line, a cable line. Uh, it's uh, yeah,
- 28:28Speaker 2: it goes through the Eastman. So, hey, they're out of luck.
- 28:32Speaker 2: They're out of luck. And here's one there's one guy's
- 28:36Speaker 2: uh that says he's lost a swimming pool because of
- 28:41Speaker 2: the Eastman. How he put one in and the reason
- 28:45Speaker 2: that they're uh, they're they're invoking the Eastman Regional Wastewater
- 28:49Speaker 2: Pipeline is going to is they're going to expand it
- 28:53Speaker 2: and where he says, but it might be swimming pool.
- 28:55Speaker 2: He goes, hey, you can swim in the wastewater. Nothing
- 28:58Speaker 2: sto of you from swimming in. Okay, if you want
- 29:02Speaker 2: to do that, he'd go into the Pacific Ocean. Yeah,
- 29:05Speaker 2: that's true. So anyway, we're done, guys, that's it coming up.
- 29:11Speaker 2: What's going on in the Mideast. It's the next episode
- 29:15Speaker 2: because it changes every minute. Matter of fact, I'm going
- 29:18Speaker 2: to tell you what's happening now, and it's probably gonna
- 29:21Speaker 2: change by ten o'clock. So here's the latest coming right up,
- 29:24Speaker 2: and it has to do with the blockades on both sides.
- 29:28Speaker 2: This is KFI AM six point forty. You've been listening
