- 0:00Hi, welcome to Candid Coach Conversations.
- 0:02I'm Kimberly Boyd, founder of Live Life Fully,
- 0:05and today I have with me a certified Live Life Fully coach,
- 0:09Savannah Burke. Hey Savannah. Doing good,
- 0:11Hey Kimberly, how are you doing today?
- 0:13~
- 0:14enjoying the Houston Heat.
- 0:17Yes, it is. It's very hot here.
- 0:19It's very hot here. I'm ready for the crunching of the fall leaves
- 0:25and the pumpkin spice lattes.
- 0:28Okay, I'm not ready for all that.
- 0:29Although I mean it is hot. I I am a summer girl.
- 0:34I like the water. so yeah, pumpkin latte.
- 0:37What? No.
- 0:38I have a put me in the mountains with a cool breeze.
- 0:41~
- 0:41that's so
- 0:42funny. Yeah.
- 0:43Or snow. I'm even better with snow.
- 0:46Lordy, okay.
- 0:47Send me pictures.
- 0:49Okay.
- 0:51You go enjoy the snow, I'll sit on a beach.
- 0:54There you go. There you go. Conquer both worlds.
- 0:57Yes. ~ my gosh. Thinking about that,
- 1:00I think about like Kimberly, me going to the snow.
- 1:04And if I did it would I mean I have been in snow.
- 1:07it's just not what I choose intentionally and like I don't make
- 1:12an intentional choice to go
- 1:14Mm-hmm.
- 1:15in the snow. but if I did that would probably take some courage
- 1:20and mm adapting.
- 1:23Absolutely. Absolutely.
- 1:24And I'd probably have a story to tell about how I got there.
- 1:27Speaking of thinking about courage and courage to tell your story
- 1:32or courage to publish your story,
- 1:35when I say that, Savannah, I I want to hear from you like what it means.
- 1:40Because recently, pretty recently,
- 1:43we had a
- 1:44Mm-hmm.
- 1:44talk about
- 1:46About publishing something and getting it out
- 1:48Wow.
- 1:49there and telling your story. And so yeah,
- 1:51Yes.
- 1:52when I think about me going to the snow,
- 1:55that would definitely be a story.
- 1:56It would take courage and adapting for me to pick it.
- 2:00Ha ha ha ha!
- 2:02But what does courage to get your story out or courage to publish your story,
- 2:06what does that mean to you?
- 2:08So back
- 2:09in 2025, was sitting
- 2:12Big si
- 2:17at a red light and it was like I heard God.
- 2:23We're gonna say God. Someone's voice in my ear said,
- 2:27you need, or I'm not gonna say you need because that's a little icky.
- 2:33it would be a good idea for you to write your own journal and planner.
- 2:37And I think this was after the first renewal.
- 2:41I believe it was after the first renewal retreat that we had.
- 2:44Okay.
- 2:45And I said, why, yes,
- 2:48yes, I think that would be a great idea.
- 2:51Yes, little voice. I agree.
- 2:53And so I said I will get started on that and I did.
- 2:57And I came up with a journal slash planner.
- 3:02And what I mean by that is it has everything that you can set up for your month.
- 3:06So you have monthly goals on what do you want to accomplish this month in your work,
- 3:12in your family, in your life. And then it goes on to how will you
- 3:17accomplish those things in your daily life?
- 3:19What are the things that you need to do?
- 3:21What are the things that you would like to do?
- 3:24And if something is going to trip you up,
- 3:27how do you want to handle that?
- 3:29And then on the next page,
- 3:32was an evening recap of what went well,
- 3:36what if anything tripped you up,
- 3:38what are you grateful for? And then I came up with
- 3:43365 different journal prompts to help move you through
- 3:49the different seasons of your life.
- 3:51So what I did is I broke it up into four different sections
- 3:55or four different seasons, essentially.
- 3:58And you don't have to start with volume one.
- 4:02However, I do do recommend it because it starts off with how do you want
- 4:06to how do you want to live your life this year?
- 4:09What do you want to change from last year?
- 4:11And then I had things to put at the very end of the month
- 4:16as a mindfulness activity, whether it was a mandala that you could color
- 4:21or a Sudoku you could use to relax.
- 4:24Some people don't find Sudoku relax.
- 4:26internet's okay or a mindfulness word search that goes along with
- 4:31our curriculum with Live Life Fully.
- 4:33So I started doing all this and I was gung-ho and I was creaking it out
- 4:40and then I stopped and I don't even I didn't want to admit the reason I stopped.
- 4:45I got to a certain point and I was...
- 4:48I went... I started thinking, okay,
- 4:51what is the reason I'm doing this?
- 4:53Well, because something said that I would benefit from it.
- 4:57Okay. And what if nobody else sees the benefit?
- 5:01And I still have that fear. However,
- 5:04because of our conversations lately,
- 5:06that fear is dissipating.
- 5:11having that, not only that, but that my very,
- 5:13one of my very good friends, she just had a book come out and I was,
- 5:16I'm so proud of her and it is so good.
- 5:19And that also helped.
- 5:22Remember that I have a story to tell as well.
- 5:25And I'm doing my own work on courage that I was recommended to do
- 5:30and that is helping. And I started working on it again for the first time
- 5:34and one of the other people that helped coach me through this,
- 5:38she recommended, you know, what is something that you can do in a short amount
- 5:43of time kind of goes back to...
- 5:45when you go to clean out something or do something in those 10 minute,
- 5:4915 minute bursts, in this case,
- 5:51it's how many, because really what I need to finish is the journal prompts
- 5:55and all that takes is copying and pasting them into the template.
- 6:01And she said, okay.
- 6:02But you have the journal prompts written and now it's a copy paste situation?
- 6:06Okay.
- 6:07It is. It is.
- 6:09I love that.
- 6:10Yes. And she said, well, what would it take for you to do,
- 6:14let's say, seven a day or seven a week?
- 6:16Mm.
- 6:17I said, nothing.
- 6:20Ha ha ha.
- 6:21Nothing.
- 6:22And it will
- 6:23it will take something. It is going
- 6:25it will.
- 6:26to take time. And when we say yes to something,
- 6:29we're saying no to something else.
- 6:31Right.
- 6:32And so it will take something.
- 6:35Right and it it takes
- 6:38is taking courage on my part to think,
- 6:40okay, you've done all this and really,
- 6:42it has not at this time cost me monetarily anything.
- 6:48It has cost
- 6:48Yeah.
- 6:49me time, it has cost me effort,
- 6:51it has cost me in emotional ways and I think that's where the fear came
- 6:56in the most in telling my story is what if nobody wants to buy it?
- 7:00What if nobody wants to read it?
- 7:01What if nobody wants to use it?
- 7:03And I need to remember I didn't do this for everybody else.
- 7:07I did it for me and I'm sharing it with everybody else because there
- 7:12are other people out there like me.
- 7:14So Savannah, what does this journal and planner,
- 7:17what does it mean to you?
- 7:19It is a way to help me and others explore what is holding me back.
- 7:25What can I do in this season of life?
- 7:28How can I live more fully in this season of life?
- 7:32How can I live more confidently?
- 7:34What are the things that I could be working on?
- 7:37I want to work on.
- 7:39And it's kind of a brain dump because it has things from every
- 7:46season of life, whether it be changing yourself or helping you through
- 7:50a loss or what do you want to be.
- 7:57It's all of the things.
- 7:59Okay. So have you committed to yourself to finish?
- 8:03yes, I have. I have recommitted myself and I actually started working
- 8:07on it again this weekend.
- 8:08Okay, and you know me, I'm all about timelines.
- 8:11Yes, ma'am.
- 8:13Do you have a timeline for this commitment?
- 8:15I don't and hearing you say that,
- 8:18my timeline is, I think I have approximately
- 8:22a hundred or so left to do.
- 8:28So if I break that up into a set of seven a week,
- 8:30but let's do simple math here because I don't do math in my head.
- 8:34If I do ten a week, that's ten weeks.
- 8:36Ten weeks is a month and a half.
- 8:39However, saying that...
- 8:39Right. Well
- 8:43two and a half months.
- 8:44Yes, again, don't do math in my head.
- 8:46Two and a half.
- 8:47Ha ha ha
- 8:51And saying that out loud, think I want to have it done earlier.
- 8:54I really do.
- 8:55Right. Well
- 8:56and I don't mean right, I what I'm thinking is telling saying you don't have
- 9:00to start with the first one and
- 9:03Right.
- 9:03it would be helpful to start with the first one,
- 9:06which would mean if people are gonna benefit from it for twenty twenty seven,
- 9:10they'll
- 9:11Right.
- 9:11need it before twenty twenty seven gets here so that they're ready to go.
- 9:16Absolutely.
- 9:17You know, and I
- 9:18I know you know this. The last ninety days of the year,
- 9:21I love.
- 9:22Yes.
- 9:22I
- 9:23love, and it's the reason Live Life Bully has a retreat at the last 90 days
- 9:28of the year planting seeds for,
- 9:30and for this one we'll be planting seeds for 2027.
- 9:33I love
- 9:34Yes.
- 9:34it because I think it is so important to get a handle on the last 90 days
- 9:40of the year, see where you've been the whole year,
- 9:42where you're headed,
- 9:43Yes.
- 9:44where you want to be headed, because that way,
- 9:47January 1st, you are ready to go.
- 9:50Absolutely.
- 9:51So I guess I want you, what I really want to see from you is for you
- 9:55to be thinking about timelines for to finish your project.
- 10:00Mm-hmm.
- 10:01so that people could possibly have it before the end of the year,
- 10:05even if they started with module three or journal three and or four,
- 10:11Right.
- 10:12to finish out the year strong so that
- 10:14Yes.
- 10:14you're so ready to go, January 1st,
- 10:17even stronger.
- 10:18So, October 1st starts the last 90 days.
- 10:21So, my goal is to have them completed,
- 10:26proofread, and set up and ready to go September 1st.
- 10:31Okay, I'm writing that down. Yeah,
- 10:34You and me both. September 1st.
- 10:37I gotta cause you gotta still get it to print.
- 10:38Yes.
- 10:41Yeah. Okay, so good. So then for sure it will be for sale on the Live Life Foly
- 10:47website in the store.
- 10:49Yes.
- 10:50So that'll be after September 1st because we'll be able to start taking orders.
- 10:54Yeah, that's
- 10:55Yes.
- 10:55super exciting. Yay. The other
- 10:57Yes.
- 10:58thing that popped up that I was thinking about,
- 11:00so yes, starting the year strong.
- 11:02So I have coached with several people,
- 11:05and I guess I I've never really thought about it like this.
- 11:09But it does kind of relate to the last 90 days of the year.
- 11:11So this particular lady stands out.
- 11:15She was like, you know, my year doesn't actually
- 11:17start.
- 11:18Until
- 11:19March or April. And I'm like, what?
- 11:21Okay?
- 11:21She
- 11:23she gets through the holidays,
- 11:24she gets through the first of the year,
- 11:26gets over all the hustle and bustle,
- 11:28and then settles down by March,
- 11:31and she's ready to go for the rest of the year,
- 11:34start April first. So she starts the new year at that second quarter.
- 11:38And I was like, ~
- 11:38I can't.
- 11:40that's similar to the last 90 days.
- 11:42It is.
- 11:42Last
- 11:43people, we start ours in October so that we're ready in January.
- 11:47Right.
- 11:47Rather than taking the first quarter,
- 11:49we take the last quarter. Anyway,
- 11:51so I guess I say all of that, maybe it doesn't matter when people decide
- 11:56the first of the year is for them.
- 11:58Yes, this is yes, absolutely. I am.
- 12:01I am on the same page as you. That is.
- 12:03As as long as they have
- 12:05a first of the year, even if that means it's April first,
- 12:08just
- 12:08Right.
- 12:09know when the first is for yourself.
- 12:11Yes,
- 12:12absolutely. Know when it is that you're ready to begin.
- 12:16And make that your beginning. Yes,
- 12:19I love that. And I love the idea though of having it ready for the end
- 12:24and for that last 90 days, especially leading up.
- 12:28Because if you are one of the people that starts in January like all of us,
- 12:33not all of us, but a majority of us,
- 12:35It'll help you see and get into the habit because as you know it takes
- 12:4121 days to make or break a habit and this is something that is set
- 12:45up for every day. Weekends included because things still happen on the weekends.
- 12:52Life does not stop on Friday and pick back up on Monday.
- 12:56Correct. Yes. And then
- 12:59think about that too, like school teachers or anybody in education,
- 13:03their work year does not begin in January.
- 13:05Mm-hmm. No, it does not.
- 13:09Now it is getting earlier and earlier,
- 13:11and right now it does for the most part still start in August.
- 13:15But that's another way
- 13:15Yes, for the Chinese.
- 13:17that you think about it too, is that it might be your job.
- 13:21Start of the new year.
- 13:22And so I love this that you've put this timeline of September 1st.
- 13:27to go to print. I don't like that.
- 13:28Yes.
- 13:30Yes.
- 13:30Okay, so Savannah, if people, because like somebody might buy your planner
- 13:35and think, gosh, but I need some extra assistance or I need some more tips
- 13:41or I'm not sure I want to gain more clarity.
- 13:43How can people reach out to you to get more clarity?
- 13:48Where can they find
- 13:49you?
- 13:49my goodness,
- 13:50you can find me in so many different places.
- 13:51You can find me on our Live Life Fully website.
- 13:56I am under one of the coaches.
- 13:58You can find me on Instagram. I've changed it.
- 14:01I think it's llfully underscore coach underscore Savannah C.
- 14:06Burke.
- 14:07I think that's what it is now.
- 14:08You can find me on Facebook under Savannah Burk or Savannah Caten Burk.
- 14:14That's Caten with a C not with a K,
- 14:17C-A-Y.
- 14:17And then could they reach you if they wanted to email you directly
- 14:20at Savannah at LLfully dot com?
- 14:21Absolutely. Correct. Savannah.
- 14:22Okay.
- 14:24And that's two N's and an H. Two N's and an H.
- 14:27Just like Georgia.
- 14:28Yes. Okay, so if
- 14:30they want to email you directly,
- 14:31Savannah
- 14:32Savannah.
- 14:32at llfoly.com and then they can always go to the website llfuly.com,
- 14:38go to the coaches, select your name,
- 14:40and then they could
- 14:41Yeah.
- 14:41even click and sign up for a clarity call with you.
- 14:44Absolutely. A
- 14:4520-minute clarity call. We could have a coffee meeting and talk about
- 14:51Uh-huh.
- 14:52it and talk about
- 14:53anything. Absolutely.
- 14:54Love it.
- 14:56So good. Okay. So courage to tell your story,
- 15:00courage to publish your story.
- 15:02And now you you've recommitted to your courage.
- 15:06You've recommitted to your planner and you've set a deadline.
- 15:10have. It feels amazing.
- 15:11Yay, that's so exciting.
- 15:13It feels like it feels like it did when I first had the idea when it when
- 15:17Love that.
- 15:18I first thought about it. my goodness.
- 15:21So good. So Savannah,
- 15:23Yes.
- 15:25if you know people and they have a story to tell,
- 15:28Mm-hmm.
- 15:29or they think they might, or they don't even know.
- 15:31Like, do I have a story to tell?
- 15:33Which I believe we all have story to tell.
- 15:36Yes.
- 15:37and we always talk about, we often,
- 15:39not always, we often talk about the first step.
- 15:43If somebody's has this little pull.
- 15:45That they have a story. What
- 15:47Mm-hmm.
- 15:48would you tell them their first step?
- 15:49What would you say? Or maybe give them three different options.
- 15:52First step, I think.
- 15:55is to start writing it down.
- 15:58whether it be journaling or you can also talk to others.
- 16:01I'm trying to think of the things that helped me.
- 16:04I...
- 16:05I looked at others also as what they did and I drew inspiration from that
- 16:11and I looked at things that I was like,
- 16:13I know I want this and I want this and I don't want that and I don't want that.
- 16:17This is too much, that's too little.
- 16:20And so I came up with my own and...
- 16:26I do encourage you to talk about it with a coach or talk about it with someone that
- 16:32you trust that can help you flesh out these ideas and give
- 16:38you guidance and encouragement and support and love
- 16:43and help you realize your own dream and what that dream means
- 16:48to you.
- 16:50and what it can mean for others.
- 16:55your story and your view can always help someone
- 17:02else. You could be the light in someone else's darkness.
- 17:02It's
- 17:06sure can. Yeah.
- 17:08you can be
- 17:09the light in someone else's darkness.
- 17:10It is, it's freeing. It really is.
- 17:12It's freeing. It is.
- 17:14empowering and that is my,
- 17:19that is my goal when it comes to coaching,
- 17:22when it comes to this journal is to help others reach their full potential
- 17:29in whatever it is that they are wanting to be.
- 17:31Whether it be a, you know, an entrepreneur or someone that is looking to change,
- 17:38change jobs or get a, get a raise
- 17:40Mm-hmm.
- 17:41or
- 17:42learn to do something new. What is in your way that
- 17:48you can either remove the obstacle,
- 17:50learn from the obstacle, and take that next step forward?
- 17:54What needs to get out of your own way?
- 17:56Get out of your way. And that may be you.
- 17:59Nine times out
- 18:00of ten.
- 18:01Yes. Hold up
- 18:02that mirror because I am what got in my way.
- 18:04My own insecurity, my own, you know,
- 18:08stuff got in my way for a while.
- 18:10And it took me actually coming to people that I trust and voicing that concern
- 18:17and voicing that outcome pain that I was struggling with to have it unlocked again.
- 18:23And I'm so thankful I did.
- 18:25So good. So good. So if people have
- 18:26So, yes, I think.
- 18:29a a poll, then you're saying write it down.
- 18:32Maybe write even the words, I have a story to tell.
- 18:36Yes.
- 18:36Or gosh, I have an idea. Dot dot dot.
- 18:40Yes.
- 18:41Start there. And then look at it.
- 18:42I would say look at it every day.
- 18:44The whole
- 18:45Well.
- 18:45if it's a sticky note, I have an idea or I have a story to tell.
- 18:48Look at that every day. And ~
- 18:50Mm-hmm.
- 18:51And keep going.
- 18:52Absolutely. At Sticky Notes, if that's how you need to get started,
- 18:57I have a dream. That
- 18:59Yeah.
- 19:00dream is to move out of my neighborhood,
- 19:03to get a better job, to help my husband become a more relaxed person,
- 19:09to help my daughter find her courage again,
- 19:12to help myself.
- 19:14become more courageous in whatever it is that I'm looking for.
- 19:19Add to it, absolutely. And, like you said,
- 19:22where you can see it. I have sticky notes all over my mirrors,
- 19:25all over my doors, all over, pretty much everywhere.
- 19:28And people kinda
- 19:28Ha ha.
- 19:29come into my house and they're like,
- 19:32what is this? This is my dream,
- 19:34this is my encouragement, this is my motivation.
- 19:37Yes. Awesome.
- 19:38So, mm-hmm.
- 19:39Well I'm super excited that you've recommitted and that your planner
- 19:43and journal are coming out for the world.
- 19:44Yes, yes. Be on the lookout.
- 19:46I love it. So good.
- 19:48Be on the lookout.
- 19:50Yes, I'm very excited now.
- 19:53I do appreciate you coming on today,
- 19:55Savannah, and t and telling us about the journey,
- 19:58like the fear that you had, the pause that you took,
- 20:01the recommitment that you've made.
- 20:03I really do appreciate you coming on and sharing that with us today.
- 20:07My pleasure,
- 20:08my pleasure. Thank you. And by all means,
- 20:10everyone, please reach out. I would love,
- 20:13love, love to talk to you.
- 20:15Awesome. Thanks, Savannah, and thank you everybody
- 20:18Thank you.
- 20:18for joining Candid Coach Conversations.
- 20:21Please remember to live life fully and enjoy every moment.
- 20:25And we'll see you soon.
