- 0:05>> Skylar: Welcome back, everybody. I say welcome back.
- 0:07>> Skylar: That feels interesting.
- 0:08>> Skylar: I don't know. I don't know how to describe that, but welcome back, everybody, to
- 0:11a special episode of Benders and Bruise. As
- 0:14if every episode of Benders and Bruise wasn't
- 0:17special. But I digress. Today we're
- 0:20doing a Q and a episode where we're going to answer all
- 0:23the questions that you guys sent in to us or that we
- 0:26kind of came up with for each other. There's some of those mixed in there as
- 0:29well. and yeah, we're gonna find out some
- 0:31interesting details that we didn't get to explore during the show.
- 0:34We're gonna talk about those. It'll be a lot of fun. So, kicking
- 0:37things off, I think the best way to do this probably, is to go around the
- 0:40table. I've got a list of the questions that
- 0:43either we got sent to us or that we came up with. Like I mentioned before,
- 0:46and I've divvied those out to everybody. So I think it'd be best to just go around the
- 0:49table and have each person pick one of the
- 0:52questions, and then just ask
- 0:54whoever it is that it's directed to. And then we'll go from there.
- 0:57So, Connor, you want to kick
- 1:00things off with one of the questions? Sure.
- 1:03>> Cameron: Let's see here. So, I got a question for
- 1:06Mister Bildore. Ash ketchum.
- 1:08>> Cameron: Cameron over here starting it off with me.
- 1:11>> Cameron: Okay, yeah, I'll start off with you. Were there any, like,
- 1:13hints that we missed that you were trying to drop
- 1:16of your guy actually being a
- 1:19firebender? Aside from his name being Ash and brothers being
- 1:22named Ember and Blaze?
- 1:23>> Skylar: Well, and he's from the fire nation.
- 1:26>> Cameron: None of that. It was
- 1:29hints to him being a bender, more
- 1:31that he was from a fire nation. And his family had a lot of fire
- 1:34themes to it. And I
- 1:37mean, you could take his whole
- 1:40background being from the Fire nation as a hint to him being a
- 1:42firebender. But the thing is, there's plenty, plenty of people in every
- 1:45nation that aren't benders. So it's not like
- 1:48I was ever, like, pushing at that. The
- 1:51only major things that were like,
- 1:54I rarely hinted at him being a bender
- 1:58because a big part of his character was he
- 2:00was afraid of fire. He's a pyrophobia,
- 2:03because of his accident. And, because of that,
- 2:06he resented the idea of using his powers. So
- 2:09even in any crisis situation, the last thing he would
- 2:12do is use his powers. Right. And so because of that, it was hard for me
- 2:15to hint about it. And so his best hints
- 2:18were probably, like, his pyrophobia
- 2:21and his. All of his, scars
- 2:24from his burn damage and stuff. And, like,
- 2:27he, in some way is related to fire,
- 2:30whether he self burned himself, which,
- 2:32surprisingly isn't a thing you see all the time in Avatar,
- 2:35but, like, pyro people aren't flame
- 2:38immune. So I don't know why there's more people in the
- 2:41Avatar universe that aren't, like, covered in, like, burn
- 2:44marks, especially.
- 2:45>> Skylar: From the firing age. I mean, you got, like, dudes that are, using fire.
- 2:48>> Cameron: Like, the only one was Zuko.
- 2:50That was it. And it was just like, that's kind of weird
- 2:53knowing, because, like, I was asking Skyler when I was running the character
- 2:56specifically for our paw episode. Cause that
- 2:59might have been a. That was the one time I was almost gonna hint. It
- 3:02was our prequel episode, and we had to cross
- 3:05that hot floor. And Bill, I
- 3:08even messaged Skylar. I was like, does Bill
- 3:11have an immunity to fire damage? And could I just, like,
- 3:14walk across these hot coals and just not, not feel it? And he
- 3:17told me, if you do, it won't be as
- 3:20harmful as, like, someone else doing it, but
- 3:22it still would hurt, but just not as bad as, like,
- 3:25if a non firebender did it. And I was like, that makes sense.
- 3:28Cause I can use heat, so my body probably handles it
- 3:31better. But from the way he sounded, it sound like
- 3:34if I stood on them long enough, I would start burning still,
- 3:37so. And, like, I can fall in lava and burn to death
- 3:40still, so it's.
- 3:41>> Skylar: Like, it'd be an interesting thing to, like, look into the
- 3:43avatar world and so on and so forth
- 3:46to see, like, I mean, all things considered,
- 3:49again, they don't. I mean, there's nothing to suggest that they
- 3:52have immunity. I don't know if it's just a situation where people that have
- 3:54firebending just have calloused
- 3:57fingers and feet to the point where, you know, when they're
- 4:00kicking because the fire is, like, right there, like, within inches of their body.
- 4:03So it only makes sense that to some extent, they're feeling that
- 4:05heat and that burn, but obviously
- 4:08not as much so as other people. I don't know.
- 4:11>> Skylar: That's it.
- 4:11>> Skylar: You know, it's an interesting question. It's an interesting question, but, like,
- 4:14you referenced Zuko having a giant burn on his face
- 4:17suggests that they absolutely can get burned.
- 4:20It's just like, why are they also able to control fire
- 4:23to an extent? You know, I don't know.
- 4:24>> Cameron: Like, if I didn't know about Zuko, I definitely would not have made
- 4:27Bill have a giant scar on his body because I
- 4:30would have just thought, oh, firebenders can't get burn marks, right? But
- 4:33Zuko clearly shows you the opposite. So
- 4:36there isn't actually an answer to the question, though I never
- 4:39really hinted at it. The only real hint is my burn scars and
- 4:42his extreme phobia. But people definitely could
- 4:45have just chalked that up to, he's
- 4:47from. He's from the Fire nation. He's afraid of fire because
- 4:50he got badly hurt by it in the past. But that doesn't mean he has bending,
- 4:53so. But as we saw, he does have bending and that's
- 4:56what caused his damage.
- 4:57>> Skylar: But, yeah, tough to say. Cameron, you got a
- 5:00question you can throw to somebody in the group?
- 5:03>> Cameron: Sure. I could pass this to the next person to
- 5:06my left and go for Mikayla as Micah.
- 5:09it says, what does life
- 5:12look like for Micah once her father returns from his final
- 5:15mission with the rescue team squadron in 20
- 5:18years? What is Mika up to? From
- 5:21llama lover.
- 5:22>> Skylar: From who?
- 5:23>> Cameron: From llama lover.
- 5:24>> Skylar: Llama m lover.
- 5:25>> Cameron: Llama lover.
- 5:26>> Skylar: Thanks. Llama lover.
- 5:27>> Cameron: I love llama. Clearly this person
- 5:30does too.
- 5:30>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 5:31>> Cameron: but basically, I think the storm of this question is it's
- 5:34a two part one. What does she do when her father comes back?
- 5:37And then what do you imagine
- 5:40Micah's future looks like?
- 5:42>> Mikayla: well, I imagine when her father comes back, they
- 5:44probably find a place to kind of settle down.
- 5:47>> Skylar: is that in gowling or do they just.
- 5:49>> Mikayla: I would say in gowling because
- 5:53Micah has a lot of trauma with the water
- 5:55niche.
- 5:56>> Skylar: That's a fair point.
- 5:57>> Mikayla: and, I mean, she's
- 6:00currently staying at the
- 6:02hot. I mean.
- 6:04>> Skylar: Whoa, whoa.
- 6:06>> Cameron: That's a dramatic.
- 6:08>> Skylar: She goes and she does open up a hot
- 6:11brew.
- 6:12>> Mikayla: and so I figured when her dad comes, they probably settle down there until
- 6:15they figure out more of what they want to do long
- 6:18term. I think Micah would probably be
- 6:21very interested in doing,
- 6:23like, what do you
- 6:26call it?
- 6:28>> Skylar: Arts and crafts.
- 6:31>> Cameron: Describe it.
- 6:33>> Mikayla: well, I'm trying to. You guys keep interrupting.
- 6:35>> Skylar: Sorry, I. Pottery.
- 6:38You're doing the same thing. She just complained.
- 6:40>> Cameron: What else was saying?
- 6:41>> Mikayla: Something like, when you, when you. Like a
- 6:44private investigator.
- 6:45>> Skylar: Oh.
- 6:46>> Dave: Oh, yeah, I think you had mentioned that before.
- 6:49>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 6:49>> Mikayla: she probably gets her start. You know, she
- 6:52works dishwasher. She has a great
- 6:54backdoor business opportunity. I
- 6:57feel like, of just, like, literally.
- 6:59>> Skylar: Out of the back door, like, she's cleaning dishes and then somebody runs up to the back
- 7:02door and they're like, are you. Are you Mika? Mika
- 7:05investigation agency.
- 7:07>> Cameron: Well, I'm sure Mia.
- 7:08>> Mikayla: I'm sure. I'm sure over time, she'd have
- 7:11some kind of code or whatever, but, like.
- 7:12>> Skylar: Also, like, they knock on the door three times, then two
- 7:15times, then six times.
- 7:16>> Mikayla: Also, who was her friend from the board group?
- 7:19>> Skylar: Oh, Chicra.
- 7:19>> Mikayla: Yeah, chicra. I mean, you know, Chicra could give her a
- 7:22great in with the community.
- 7:24>> Skylar: Oh, I thought you were gonna say they're gonna start a business together.
- 7:26>> Mikayla: I mean, that would be probably a high potential.
- 7:30>> Skylar: That'd be kind of cool. But as, for.
- 7:32>> Mikayla: As. For 20 years? I don't know.
- 7:35I don't know. She. I don't think that she's really
- 7:38interested in settling down and starting a family.
- 7:41I just think she's probably more making a name for herself.
- 7:43>> Skylar: Yeah, no, that makes sense. She
- 7:46expands her investigative tendencies to
- 7:49go past the earth nation and into other nations.
- 7:52Who knows?
- 7:52>> Mikayla: Solving mysteries play off those, role playing
- 7:55skills.
- 7:56>> Cameron: Whoa.
- 7:57>> Skylar: Like Zoink's scoob, you know, she had.
- 8:00>> Mikayla: A lover in that.
- 8:04Well, that's where it was going, but it didn't actually end up that way.
- 8:07>> Skylar: Are you talking about the prison?
- 8:07>> Mikayla: Yeah.
- 8:09>> Skylar: She takes that seriously. She goes somewhere with that.
- 8:11>> Mikayla: Well, I mean, like, as a private investigator, she
- 8:14could just see her role playing.
- 8:17>> Skylar: Not like
- 8:21she bending snaps all over the
- 8:23place.
- 8:24>> Mikayla: Saucy. Has experience pretending
- 8:27to be something.
- 8:28>> Skylar: Okay, I understand. That makes sense. All
- 8:31right, well, moving past the
- 8:34question given to you, do you have a question for somebody else?
- 8:37Michaela?
- 8:38>> Mikayla: I can do Guo.
- 8:41>> Skylar: Sure. Everybody's just passing around
- 8:44the table.
- 8:45>> Mikayla: Well, I feel you're next.
- 8:46>> Cameron: So.
- 8:49>> Mikayla: what's Guo's long term goal? In reference to the
- 8:52blissful full brew in his career?
- 8:54>> Skylar: Oh, is he gonna keep it up? Is he
- 8:57gonna. Is he gonna be the next Okaran?
- 8:59>> Dave: I would say that he probably definitely
- 9:02keep, like, all the tea on the
- 9:05menu.
- 9:05>> Skylar: Nice.
- 9:06>> Dave: but he would probably branch out
- 9:09and either do something to compliment that more
- 9:12or open up another business, maybe,
- 9:15like, next door, you know,
- 9:18maybe have other. Other ventures separate.
- 9:21>> Skylar: Sure, that makes sense. And, like, yeah, it doesn't all
- 9:24have to be in the same place. I actually imagine that a
- 9:27lot of the stovetop space was going to be used for just
- 9:29a bunch of tea kettles, so it just doesn't leave a
- 9:32whole lot of room for all the other food prep
- 9:35and stuff. So, yeah, if he had, like, a building next door or something,
- 9:39and maybe.
- 9:40>> Dave: Someday he'd expansion.
- 9:41>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 9:42>> Dave: He'd have his own version of like,
- 9:46guy fieri's.
- 9:48>> Cameron: Diners.
- 9:49>> Dave: Diners, drive ins and dives.
- 9:52>> Skylar: I love that idea. Dropping those, pebble
- 9:55ratings all over the place. That's awesome.
- 9:58That's awesome. I love it. Well, and, you know, all things
- 10:00considered, I did imagine personally when I was,
- 10:03like, described, especially near the beginning of the series when we actually see like,
- 10:06okaran's getting things ready in the kitchen and stuff like that. We're kind of going
- 10:09through what everybody's position within the
- 10:12blissful brew. And I imagine it being really
- 10:15crowded. Like, the sink is back there. So Mika's, like
- 10:18doing dishes. Mika and Brock, who, Brock is like massive,
- 10:21obviously, and they're doing dishes and it's crowding that
- 10:24whole section of the back area. And then you've got
- 10:26Okaran is trying to, like, cook stuff and Bill is
- 10:29trying to take stuff back and forth from the floor. So he's grabbing this stuff. You know,
- 10:32it's just like a really crowded environment in the back there. So,
- 10:35yeah, either an expansion or just like getting a second building,
- 10:38I think is probably necessary.
- 10:42Awesome. All right, guo, Dave,
- 10:45you're up.
- 10:46>> Dave: Let's go. One for Skylar.
- 10:49>> Skylar: Oh, my gosh. Who could have
- 10:52guessed?
- 10:53>> Dave: All right, so what was the
- 10:56plan for the plot of the missing
- 10:59sea serpent? Scale.
- 11:01>> Skylar: Ah, yes, the scale. Okay, so
- 11:05this is one of those situations where like, the DM
- 11:07obviously writes out like a whole elaborate thing and then
- 11:10expects the player. And that was my fault. I foolishly
- 11:13expected the players to just follow through with it and
- 11:16do the mystery as it was meant to be.
- 11:18>> Skylar: And you can never, you can never.
- 11:20>> Skylar: Put a thing into place and expect your players to do it the way that you thought
- 11:23you were going to do. That's not how that works. That's not how that
- 11:25works. I just thought you guys would, like, go in there
- 11:28and you would. I thought Cameron, honestly, I thought you
- 11:31would have the grid. I made a griddenne
- 11:34while I was plotting this out. And I had all the suspects
- 11:36listed and then I went through the entire mystery and stuck
- 11:39clues in and different points where I was like, if
- 11:42a person explores all these avenues, they'd find the clues
- 11:45and if they put them on this grid, they would know
- 11:48exactly who did it. Because there's literally one person
- 11:51that has every single element in their,
- 11:54their character. And at the very least, you could
- 11:57probably narrow them down to, like, two people. And just by
- 11:59attitude alone, you might have guessed that it was the right guy. But instead,
- 12:02Brock's like, flipping people over and shaking their pockets
- 12:05and then essentially torturing them into just admitting. And
- 12:08at that point, I was like, oh, my gosh.
- 12:11Episode or season two is gonna be 300
- 12:14episodes long. What is this one piece? so I was
- 12:16like, I need to move this along. And just like,
- 12:19okay, fine. Yeah, you shake him, and the scale
- 12:22falls out of his pocket. Like, there you go. We got to get this
- 12:25plot moving. But where's the other scale? Oh, you don't know where the other
- 12:28scale is? So, yeah, I don't know. To be honest, it was kind of
- 12:31a filler episode just to have something goofy going on. And then,
- 12:34of course, Bill wanted nothing to do with the whole thing. Just
- 12:37beeline straight for the boat after he was, like, sick of it. And
- 12:40I'm like, you know, what's gonna
- 12:42stop them? I guess. I don't know. They just need
- 12:45to get to the island. This is a fair point. I can't deny
- 12:48it for the purpose of convenience. So, I mean, I don't know. There you go.
- 12:51It was a filler episode, technically. I just wanted to
- 12:54throw a mystery in there. I didn't think it would take three episodes to get
- 12:57through it.
- 12:57>> Cameron: And all it took was Brock just chaining everybody's
- 13:00feet to the floor and shaking them
- 13:03upside down.
- 13:04>> Skylar: That's right.
- 13:05>> Cameron: That's right. If you want to get anywhere, kids start torturing
- 13:08people.
- 13:08>> Cameron: Violent.
- 13:09>> Skylar: Pick the kid up and shake his milk money out of his
- 13:11pockets.
- 13:12>> Cameron: Violence.
- 13:13>> Mikayla: We don't condone bullying, actually.
- 13:15>> Skylar: Oh, yeah, we don't.
- 13:15>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 13:16>> Skylar: Don't. I
- 13:19appreciate Mika being the voice of reason.
- 13:21>> Cameron: What?
- 13:22>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 13:25okay, so question for everybody. We'll do. We'll do rapid fire around
- 13:28the room. This is mighty mine to you guys favorite NPC.
- 13:31Go. Connor.
- 13:35can you come back? I was worried where you. Okay. I was worried we were gonna
- 13:38go. Cameron.
- 13:39>> Cameron: it's one of two characters.
- 13:42Oh, there's three. There's so many good ones.
- 13:44>> Skylar: Oh, no.
- 13:45>> Cameron: I'll just quick say my three favorites. One was the explosives guy.
- 13:48The other one was the 90 degree man, old guy that
- 13:51we. That was on the hike with us.
- 13:54>> Skylar: The guy was ridiculous.
- 13:55>> Cameron: I think the last one was kido
- 13:59Kito.
- 14:00>> Skylar: All right, Michaela.
- 14:03>> Mikayla: I liked Chicra.
- 14:04>> Skylar: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 14:05>> Mikayla: But I also did like the butler guy.
- 14:07>> Skylar: Butler guy. Yeah. Almost
- 14:10forgot about him. That's a throwback. He was fun.
- 14:13Hey, wait a minute. So you're not going to integrate him? I feel like he would
- 14:16come up at some point in Mika's future endeavor.
- 14:18>> Mikayla: I mean, maybe he could be my butler someday.
- 14:20>> Skylar: Yeah, maybe you take him on as, like. Yeah, the blissful
- 14:23brew gets, like, really wealthy.
- 14:25>> Mikayla: He could be, like, our host.
- 14:27>> Skylar: Oh, you guys could hire him. M at the blissful brew?
- 14:29>> Mikayla: Yeah, yo, I'm sure we could, because.
- 14:33>> Skylar: Bill doesn't work there anymore as the host.
- 14:35>> Cameron: You don't have a host.
- 14:36>> Mikayla: There you go.
- 14:37>> Skylar: He'll be pretty. Good job. He's brilliant. All right,
- 14:40Dave, favorite NPC.
- 14:42>> Dave: Mister Okaron.
- 14:45>> Skylar: Okay, he's right.
- 14:46>> Cameron: Okay, I forgot about it. He's got a good
- 14:49point.
- 14:51>> Skylar: Dang it. All right, back to Connor.
- 14:53>> Cameron: Okay, so either the pirate, the lady
- 14:56pirate, the lady pirate, the lady pirate that
- 14:59Brock tried to give me a second.
- 15:01>> Skylar: Hold my eyes.
- 15:02>> Cameron: Or Chicra for nothing else than her
- 15:04saying, what's your favorite thing to do without a dad?
- 15:10Still, I think the best line of.
- 15:12>> Cameron: The entire campaign, my magnum opus, NPC.
- 15:15>> Skylar: Spur of the moment line right there. What's your favorite thing
- 15:18to do in that?
- 15:21>> Cameron: Probably my favorite line of the whole
- 15:24campaign.
- 15:25>> Skylar: that's true. I forgot about that. I
- 15:28need to put that on a t shirt.
- 15:30>> Cameron: Like, make some stickers.
- 15:32>> Skylar: What's your favorite thing to do without a dad?
- 15:35Dang. And I'd cry. A tear would fall.
- 15:38Every time someone bought that sticker or that t shirt. I'd
- 15:41go, oh, somebody out there? I'm sorry.
- 15:44Wow. man, I don't know.
- 15:47Kido was really fun to play. I also really
- 15:50enjoyed old man Gunja, which was voiced by our good friend
- 15:53Doug. that was just a goofy character to write
- 15:56for in his spoons.
- 15:58>> Cameron: And his spoons.
- 16:00>> Cameron: And then him and, Guo having, like, pie fight, like,
- 16:03trying to fight over the same pie eating entire
- 16:06spoonfuls of cinnamon.
- 16:07>> Skylar: And he wanted interest on you borrowing his spoon.
- 16:12That was weird. All right, Connor, what do you got?
- 16:15>> Cameron: I'll throw it right over to. I'll throw it over to
- 16:18Dave. Mister Guo Han from
- 16:20thinkbee 63. did you
- 16:23feel that Guo's backstory at the carnival would have
- 16:26shown up more throughout the campaign, or do you kind of wish
- 16:29it showed up more so he could flex his carnival muscles?
- 16:32>> Skylar: Oh, man.
- 16:33>> Cameron: Or circus muscles.
- 16:35>> Dave: I mean, I did try to reference back to
- 16:39different skills that he had from the carnival, but the
- 16:41only thing that maybe I would have liked more to
- 16:44come through was the, lady he
- 16:47left behind.
- 16:48>> Skylar: Mirabel. Yeah.
- 16:51To see her pop up again. That would have been interesting, for
- 16:54sure. I feel like there's a lot of
- 16:56opportunity we could have taken with the, with the carnival
- 16:59showing up again. I know. I kind of just threw chinks and Ani in there.
- 17:02>> Dave: Oh, and also I did kind of leave it open
- 17:05to like, oh, Guo's
- 17:08parents are potentially alive
- 17:10still.
- 17:11>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 17:12>> Skylar: That would have been intense. I feel like, I mean,
- 17:15I think we hit two pretty emotional points
- 17:18with withdeze. Bill's backstory, Amica's
- 17:21backstory, like throughout the series. But I feel like, and no
- 17:24offense to Connor and Brock, but I feel like the
- 17:27only other like really emotional note that we probably
- 17:30could have hit would have been with whoa and his parents.
- 17:32>> Cameron: I mean, that's fair.
- 17:33>> Skylar: I mean, yours were like fine. Honestly.
- 17:35>> Cameron: Brock was just a earth rumble six
- 17:38fighter.
- 17:38>> Skylar: Yeah. Yeah. And your family was like all good. They're out
- 17:41there, they're doing their farm. You're sending them some money.
- 17:44>> Cameron: Yeah, they're just over there harvesting their cabbages.
- 17:46>> Skylar: I want to, I don't want to give too much away because I know there's a question that'll come
- 17:49up because I already read through them all and, and I have more to
- 17:52say on that. But I digress anyway. Okay.
- 17:55Cameron. Yeah.
- 17:56>> Cameron: I have a question for you, Skyler.
- 17:57>> Skylar: Oh no.
- 17:58>> Cameron: If you could go back and change anything about the
- 18:01story, what would it be?
- 18:03>> Skylar: Okay, so that's a
- 18:05really tough question. I was, I mean, it's tough to
- 18:09answer as the DM because the idea behind Dming is
- 18:11that I, I just come up with like the titles
- 18:14for the chapters. Right. And then
- 18:17you guys are the ones that are kind of creating the story that
- 18:20happens within it. Right. Like I just coming up with the headers, you guys come
- 18:23up with the actual like content within that. So it's hard
- 18:26for me to say like, man, I wish I could have changed that because I don't want to change anything
- 18:29that you guys sort of use to develop your characters
- 18:33with that, being said.
- 18:37That's a tough one. I was really happy with everything that
- 18:40happened. I might, I
- 18:43guess I'm not trying to cheat off of what was just discussed, but
- 18:46I probably would integrate whoa's backstory a
- 18:49little bit more because I felt like, like I said
- 18:52Conor or Brock's. Brock's backstory.
- 18:55It felt very like it was good where it
- 18:58was at. I feel like Bill had a very obvious
- 19:01like progression to get to.
- 19:03Michaela playing Micah had like a really fun kind
- 19:06of angst. You had the most like angsty team
- 19:09and that left a lot of opportunity to like
- 19:12throw the angsty teen into situations and see how they get
- 19:15themselves out of it because this angsty teen gotta grow
- 19:18up. but like Guo I felt like
- 19:21didn't get enough representation. I say that probably be my
- 19:23main thing that I'd want to adjust to like
- 19:26get, get Dave on a little bit of more
- 19:29and get Guo to like have an opportunity to,
- 19:32I don't know, have some big growth moment or something like that.
- 19:37Yeah, that's probably what I changed. Oh my,
- 19:40oh yeah, sorry.
- 19:41>> Mikayla: My turn.
- 19:41>> Skylar: Yeah, sorry.
- 19:42>> Mikayla: I should have, I got a question for Brock
- 19:45Connor.
- 19:46>> Mikayla: Do you, I feel like this is gonna come
- 19:49off very mean, but it's fine.
- 19:52Do you feel like Brock really learned anything by the end
- 19:55of the series?
- 19:57>> Cameron: That's a good question.
- 20:00I thought that a lot in the last season.
- 20:03>> Cameron: It's a fair question. And I feel like the
- 20:06answer is no.
- 20:08>> Skylar: I think we can all agree it's no.
- 20:10>> Cameron: Yeah, I mean, he kind of learned how to read.
- 20:12>> Mikayla: Yeah, well, he was starting to, he.
- 20:15>> Cameron: Was starting to learn how to read.
- 20:16>> Cameron: But emotionally, no, no,
- 20:20he's not a character arc. He's just a character
- 20:23plateau.
- 20:26>> Cameron: he was the base that everyone's arcs were built off of.
- 20:29>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 20:29>> Cameron: He had a good foundation and that was Brock. He was the
- 20:31foundation, the catalyst for everyone
- 20:34else.
- 20:35>> Dave: Yeah.
- 20:35>> Cameron: It's like by seeing Brock stay the same, you could see
- 20:38the growth of everybody else.
- 20:41>> Cameron: That kind of makes sense.
- 20:42>> Skylar: Brock stood still so everybody else could run.
- 20:45>> Cameron: Exactly. And that's his role.
- 20:48And he filled that role.
- 20:50>> Mikayla: I mean, he was really embodying a Brock there.
- 20:53>> Cameron: He was. Yes.
- 20:54>> Skylar: Brock started out punching his problems away
- 20:57and Brock ended punching his problems away. That
- 21:00was his plateau, I think you did.
- 21:02>> Cameron: And he helped his friends punch their problems away.
- 21:05>> Mikayla: I would really love to meet Brock's parents.
- 21:09>> Skylar: one m is the cabbage man.
- 21:10>> Cameron: Apparently one is the cabbage man.
- 21:12>> Mikayla: And I, well, I just want to see if they're
- 21:15just as like,
- 21:17yeah.
- 21:18>> Cameron: Well, the cabbage man was, they're probably.
- 21:20>> Cameron: Like the nicest people.
- 21:21>> Skylar: They probably are. Actually.
- 21:23>> Cameron: Brock's just weird. He's just the, yeah,
- 21:26he's, we just kind of let him do whatever.
- 21:28>> Mikayla: Like a dude.
- 21:29>> Skylar: I mean, in the prequel episode, the cabbage
- 21:32man is kind of like, oh, we better not mess with the
- 21:35firebenders. They're more powerful than us. We're in the
- 21:38prison camp. Let's just roll. He's like, he's grandpa
- 21:40grape in, in veggie tales in the
- 21:43Egypt one where he's just like three square meals
- 21:46a day.
- 21:47>> Cameron: It was paradise.
- 21:50>> Skylar: Paradise. And then Brock's like, no, I'm gonna punch
- 21:52it.
- 21:54>> Mikayla: Yeah, I just, I know how
- 21:56Brock became the way he did.
- 21:59>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 22:00>> Skylar: How did Brock go from. Yeah. Having such nice
- 22:02parents that are very passive.
- 22:06>> Mikayla: Hidden psychopath.
- 22:08>> Cameron: Maybe he just got. He took too many rock naps.
- 22:11Like he hit himself in the head too many times with a couple rocks.
- 22:14You know, maybe, amount of concussions he got from earth
- 22:17rumble or something.
- 22:17>> Cameron: He's sleeping underground and no oxygen does something to
- 22:20him.
- 22:21>> Cameron: Lack of oxygen doesn't do well for brain
- 22:24development. You could be on to something.
- 22:28>> Skylar: Good to know for. Yeah. You're out there raising your
- 22:31kids, make.
- 22:32>> Cameron: Sure they get oxygen.
- 22:33>> Skylar: You want them to just punch everything.
- 22:35>> Dave: This one is for Micah's
- 22:38character or
- 22:40Mikaela's character.
- 22:41>> Cameron: Micah.
- 22:44>> Skylar: Sometimes it's hard to distinguish.
- 22:45>> Dave: Would you say I'm nothing like her.
- 22:48>> Mikayla: Okay.
- 22:49>> Dave: Micah is more willing to make friends now
- 22:52than she was at the start of the series
- 22:54is from distant dreams.
- 22:58>> Mikayla: I mean, I feel like she'd be pretty content with the one she has.
- 23:02>> Skylar: Dang. So. Even less so.
- 23:03>> Mikayla: Well, I mean, like, you think about it, you know,
- 23:06she was really close to her
- 23:09parents. The whole thing happened with, her
- 23:12tribe. Mom died, she lost her
- 23:14dad. M. Well, she thought she. I mean, she didn't. She did lose
- 23:17her dad, just not in the dying sense of. And then Mister
- 23:20Okaron dies. She just. I feel like
- 23:23she's probably just. It would
- 23:26be hard for her to allow more and more new people to come in
- 23:29because attachments would form.
- 23:31>> Skylar: Right. And she's tired of loss. Yeah,
- 23:34makes sense. Makes sense. But she did
- 23:36make remake friends with Chicra at
- 23:39the end.
- 23:39>> Mikayla: Yeah, see, I mean, Chica is all she needs.
- 23:42>> Skylar: Do you think she becomes friends with,
- 23:45what's, her name?
- 23:47>> Cameron: Oh, Kai?
- 23:49>> Cameron: No, Sora.
- 23:49>> Mikayla: Sora.
- 23:49>> Skylar: Sora.
- 23:50>> Cameron: Probably,
- 23:53ish.
- 23:54>> Mikayla: I don't know.
- 23:55>> Cameron: What about the wild coyote boars?
- 23:57>> Skylar: What about the other wild coyote boars? Yeah, I feel like
- 24:00scoliosis and the big guy.
- 24:03>> Cameron: They seem nice.
- 24:04>> Mikayla: I mean, I feel like having an in with Chicoro. She'd almost have to
- 24:07be right? Like, that's, in a sense, Chikura's family.
- 24:10>> Skylar: Oh. you make it seem like they're gonna start the
- 24:13gang back up again with a different purpose.
- 24:15>> Mikayla: I mean, they could.
- 24:16>> Cameron: It's gonna be one of those fun.
- 24:17>> Skylar: Games.
- 24:22>> Mikayla: And tear them down.
- 24:23>> Skylar: Oh, my gosh. It's just Scooby doing the
- 24:25game. Without the dog. I don't
- 24:28know. Yeah, without the. I don't know. Maybe you get something.
- 24:31>> Dave: No, they have a fox dog.
- 24:34>> Skylar: Oh, the fox dog. Ah. it learns to sort of
- 24:37talk. What?
- 24:39>> Mikayla: I mean, it was in the spirit realm for a little while.
- 24:41It's possible.
- 24:42>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 24:43>> Skylar: All right. Fair enough. I'll give you that. That sounds cool. Is it back to
- 24:46me?
- 24:46>> Cameron: Think so.
- 24:48>> Skylar: okay. Everybody's favorite,
- 24:50moment in the series.
- 24:53>> Cameron: Connor, are we talking
- 24:56about plot wise or, like, outside of
- 24:58here, like, between
- 25:02us talking?
- 25:03>> Cameron: No.
- 25:03>> Skylar: No.
- 25:04>> Cameron: Okay, well, I kind of have two answers to
- 25:07that. Plot wise. My favorite part was
- 25:10just the wild coyote boar fight.
- 25:13>> Skylar: That was a pretty crazy fight because.
- 25:15>> Cameron: I mean, Brock got to punch chicra through a
- 25:17wall, and then the last guy
- 25:20who tried to run away, my role was so good
- 25:23that he. I was able to take away one of his abilities, and I
- 25:26decided to take away. He can't run away.
- 25:28And so we, like, we not only got the money back and got
- 25:31them to not mess with us, but we also took his money
- 25:34out of his pocket. So I think that was my favorite
- 25:38plot part. My favorite part from, like, just us, like,
- 25:41on the outside breaking the fourth wall here was how
- 25:44frustrated you got when we were in the cave
- 25:46that I think it was, me and Guo were able to just
- 25:49sort of earth bend tunnels, around the
- 25:52puzzles you had built.
- 25:53>> Skylar: It's like the entire series of
- 25:56challenges when you're in and you
- 25:59have two.
- 26:00>> Cameron: Earth where it's like, can we just make a tunnel?
- 26:03>> Skylar: You're like, I sure.
- 26:05>> Cameron: Like, it doesn't not make sense
- 26:08just how frustrated you were getting.
- 26:10>> Skylar: That's true.
- 26:11>> Cameron: That was fun.
- 26:12>> Skylar: I mean, how do you win against the bendy element bend? I'm like,
- 26:15man, anything I throw at them is in this world.
- 26:17Like, as it is, like, there's no technology and stuff, so everything's
- 26:20just elements.
- 26:21>> Cameron: Like, you had to do it in a mountain.
- 26:24Unfortunately, there were two earthbenders who could.
- 26:26>> Skylar: Just make a door back
- 26:29on the pirate boat because at least that
- 26:32presented.
- 26:32>> Cameron: Some challenge that would have worked. Can't bend wood.
- 26:35>> Skylar: That's right. Cameron, favorite moment?
- 26:38>> Cameron: it's probably my favorite moment because I think it's the start to
- 26:41where I personally thought it started getting really good in
- 26:44terms of the character development and the storytelling
- 26:47in was season three. It was the factory.
- 26:49>> Skylar: Oh.
- 26:50>> Cameron: I think that's when a lot of stuff started, like,
- 26:53hitting the fan, really. And a
- 26:56lot of stuff, like, a lot of things came to
- 26:59play all at, like, one moment. I think the
- 27:01distinct moment was when Mika had to
- 27:04choose between hitting
- 27:06Bill right to hit Madame
- 27:09Yang or to not hit Madam Yang. I think that one
- 27:12moment was a very crucial moment for the whole,
- 27:15where everything had led up to that moment, and that moment was a
- 27:18giant tipping point for a lot of stuff.
- 27:20>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 27:20>> Cameron: So I think that singular moment, I think, was one of the
- 27:23most important moments and one of my favorite moments.
- 27:26>> Skylar: In the show that was pretty intense. And we're all looking at
- 27:28Mikayla like, is she gonna choose it? Is she gonna choose it? Cameron's like,
- 27:31dude, if you gotta do it, do it. Like,
- 27:34do what fits best. Yeah, it was pretty
- 27:37intense. Mikayla, on the flip side, what was your
- 27:40throwing boiling hot water in Bill's face?
- 27:43>> Cameron: Definitely the ocean. Yang just got
- 27:46in the way.
- 27:48>> Mikayla: Oh, my gosh. I don't know what my
- 27:51favorite part would be.
- 27:52>> Skylar: I think Mikayla, out of everybody in the group, got the
- 27:55most frustrated every time Madame Yang got away at
- 27:58least.
- 27:59>> Cameron: Are you kidding? I had her on the ropes, man.
- 28:01>> Skylar: I sound pretty upset, but I feel like
- 28:04every time Michaela yelled, are you serious right
- 28:07now? You've got to be kidding me.
- 28:10>> Cameron: Having a lot. so was your favorite moment when we
- 28:12finally knocked her out, finally took it away?
- 28:16>> Mikayla: I mean. Yeah, but
- 28:19I don't know, I feel like the side conversations
- 28:22between some of the NPC's and
- 28:25our characters were kind of,
- 28:28I don't know, it's just nice to have something
- 28:31outside of the story sometimes.
- 28:32>> Skylar: Yeah, yeah, the side. Side conversations and such.
- 28:35Yeah. That makes sense.
- 28:36>> Mikayla: Just to see what direction that takes. I mean, because it does
- 28:39have effect on the bigger story.
- 28:41>> Skylar: I feel like, like how you basically
- 28:44befriended chicra, like, from the get go, which was kind of
- 28:46ironic because she was coming for the very
- 28:49tea shop.
- 28:50>> Mikayla: That well, and then, like, you know, after
- 28:53we did the factory, and
- 28:55I basically was like, sorry, Bill, for being a
- 28:58brat. I just felt like that you can see,
- 29:01like, the character growth.
- 29:03>> Skylar: Yeah, absolutely.
- 29:04>> Cameron: She liked the quiet moments.
- 29:06>> Skylar: Yeah, quiet moments, which.
- 29:08>> Cameron: No great moment.
- 29:09>> Skylar: Absolutely. That dialogue is so necessary to really,
- 29:12again, build the characters and tell a story. And
- 29:15that's really cool when it works out that way. Sometimes, you know, you get a
- 29:18quiet moment. You're just looking at the players like,
- 29:21nice fire just sitting around it, I guess. I mean,
- 29:24are you guys just gonna go to bed or.
- 29:27Ah, you know, you kind of hope as the DM. Like, I mean, I
- 29:30got stuff ready, but if you guys want to talk a little bit, go
- 29:33ahead and. But no, that's. That's great.
- 29:36That's great.

- 30:30>> Skylar: Dave, what was your favorite
- 30:32moment?
- 30:34>> Dave: probably one of my favorite moments was,
- 30:37well, what? None of your characters were looking,
- 30:40but Guo did a backflip.
- 30:42>> Cameron: Yeah, that was a good one. That was a good
- 30:45one.
- 30:46>> Skylar: Yes. I love it.
- 30:48>> Dave: No, I did enjoy, probably in the first season, the
- 30:51whole, like, lead up, to
- 30:54the wild coyote boar fight
- 30:57also. I just thought that was a fun gang to
- 31:00fight.
- 31:01>> Cameron: It was.
- 31:02>> Dave: but when guo
- 31:04inspired the community or whatever,
- 31:07and we all did the.
- 31:09>> Cameron: Snaps, it was amazing. It was
- 31:12amazing.
- 31:12>> Skylar: Can you imagine an entire towns worth of people
- 31:15just stepping at you with looks of anger in their eyes and just
- 31:18aggressively snapping at you?
- 31:20>> Mikayla: I probably laughed.
- 31:22>> Skylar: It would be weird.
- 31:24>> Mikayla: What would you do?
- 31:25>> Cameron: I mean, I'd, ah, be intimidated and.
- 31:27>> Skylar: You just go win. You're the jets.
- 31:28>> Cameron: You.
- 31:29>> Mikayla: I just feel like I'd laugh out of awkwardness.
- 31:31>> Skylar: Like, probably.
- 31:35>> Dave: And then I did, like, the last, like, the
- 31:38last fight with Madame Yang, too. I thought that
- 31:41ending came together pretty well.
- 31:43>> Skylar: M the bit where the guy's pen didn't have any
- 31:46Dilberts. Dipped right out of
- 31:49Dilbert. Amazing.
- 31:53>> Cameron: Amazing.
- 31:54>> Mikayla: You are also, like, really,
- 31:58I will.
- 31:58>> Cameron: Say about that final fight. Insane.
- 32:01You put an amazing
- 32:04score that did it really
- 32:07well.
- 32:07>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 32:08>> Cameron: Beats and the pacing and the timing of everything was really
- 32:11well done. I so applaud you on that.
- 32:13>> Skylar: Yeah. Yeah. Well, I applaud, I believe it was monumentous and
- 32:16studios that we got the music from.
- 32:18>> Cameron: So you just got that?
- 32:19>> Skylar: I know. I just got, they just reached out to ask if
- 32:22we would be willing to kind of collaborate with them on their kickstarter,
- 32:25and I was like, yeah, absolutely. And they just straight up offered. They're like,
- 32:28here's, here's a bunch of music you can use, which was
- 32:31amazing and super generous of them. And then I was like, hey,
- 32:34you know, I just want to check with you guys beforehand, but is it cool if we
- 32:37use this music in our show? And they're like, dude, yeah, that's, like,
- 32:40the point, basically. So, yeah, I was, that was
- 32:42awesome.
- 32:43>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 32:43>> Skylar: That they, they did that. And, not. Not
- 32:46like a sponsor, but they did help us out. Yeah, quite a bit on
- 32:49an awesome collab, so really appreciate them. Definitely go check out
- 32:52their. Their fantasy plus sound, board. It's really
- 32:55cool. So as you can, as
- 32:57Cameron can attest, it worked out really well.
- 33:00Connor, I think you're up. Right?
- 33:01>> Cameron: Yeah. so I'll. I'll ask. I'll throw right back at you
- 33:04here, Skylar. what is your.
- 33:07I would like to ask, what is your favorite and least favorite
- 33:10off script moment where we went
- 33:12completely in a different direction than what you had
- 33:15planned?
- 33:16>> Skylar: Well, I think we can all easily agree that the least
- 33:19favorite was the challenge. Well, man, see, now you guys have put
- 33:22it into perspective because there was the mystery of the scale
- 33:24that lasted three episodes. I didn't expect that.
- 33:27and just how you guys handled it, that might be a least favorite. But
- 33:30then also, you reminded me about the. The challenges within the
- 33:33cave solved almost entirely by,
- 33:35well, I can earth bend, so.
- 33:38So, yeah, I would say between those two, it's gotta be one
- 33:41of those for, like, least favorite. One of my favorite moments.
- 33:44Oh, my gosh, I hate to be that guy that just,
- 33:47like, says, oh, yeah, that thing that you guys already mentioned, but, oh,
- 33:50my gosh, that moment of, what's your favorite
- 33:53thing to do without a dad? Was truly magical
- 33:56and unexpected. I did not expect Mikayla to
- 33:59just, like, start making friends with one of, like I said, one of the
- 34:01people that you guys actively had coming after
- 34:04you guys. And I thought it was so funny.
- 34:07And then things started lining up really well with the whole dad
- 34:10bit and everything like that. I feel like it wasn't even just that. It was
- 34:13like that and, like, three other jokes about, like,
- 34:16can't really play catch, which is me.
- 34:19>> Cameron: I don't know.
- 34:20>> Skylar: There was, like, three other bits in there that I was like, this is the most,
- 34:23like, horrible thing we've ever come up with, but it's hilarious.
- 34:26>> Cameron: I don't know.
- 34:27>> Skylar: So that was. That was pretty off script
- 34:30and hilarious. Trying to think if there was anything that you
- 34:33guys did that, like, I didn't even have a plan for,
- 34:36like, at all. Like, you guys, like, completely
- 34:39went off, but I don't know if there is any. I feel like, and I'm not
- 34:42trying to say I railroaded, but I feel like I did a pretty good job of just,
- 34:45like, trying to keep the plot going
- 34:47with throwing me off.
- 34:49>> Cameron: If I remember right early in the first season, you
- 34:52had kind of given us, like, even
- 34:54directions to where the wild coyote wars hideout was,
- 34:58But then Michaela decided, let's go to.
- 35:00>> Cameron: The rich people's house.
- 35:04>> Cameron: If I had to guess, that wasn't in the
- 35:07plan. So that's how we got some
- 35:10basket out of it.
- 35:11>> Skylar: Well, actually, that's not entirely true. I did have it planned in
- 35:14case you guys went there, because I came up with stuff in
- 35:17the basement and all of that kind of stuff. So, I mean, like, it was
- 35:20an option, but it wasn't what I thought you'd take.
- 35:23But I was also kind of worried that, actually, I think the
- 35:26base was the secondary plan. I was worried you guys would
- 35:29go there because I thought, oh, man, what if they just go there
- 35:32and just beat everybody up? Where am I gonna.
- 35:34>> Cameron: I mean, that's what Bill wanted.
- 35:35>> Skylar: Yeah. Yeah, I remember.
- 35:37>> Cameron: Yeah, Brock. At that point, Brock wasn't
- 35:40as hard headed.
- 35:41>> Skylar: So I think another element of, off
- 35:44script that I thought was hilarious was the fact that after
- 35:47season one, you guys still kept all
- 35:50that money. And then you guys went throughout the rest of the
- 35:53thing, and I sat there and I was like, okay, so the one thing I
- 35:56can't do in the whole rest of seasons two, and
- 35:58inevitably, three, is put anything in a
- 36:01challenge situation that would involve just buying your
- 36:04way out, because they can do that right now. They have a
- 36:07lot of money. I cannot give them any money challenges.
- 36:10>> Cameron: That is fair. We did not spend a cent, did we?
- 36:13>> Cameron: I mean, we just were too busy doing stuff. Yeah.
- 36:15>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 36:16>> Cameron: But we could have, like, bought. Oh, we could have, like, bribed so many
- 36:19guards.
- 36:19>> Mikayla: We definitely spent a cent. Because you took pirate lady on a
- 36:22date.
- 36:25>> Skylar: On the expense report.
- 36:27>> Cameron: I think, like, the only thing we really paid
- 36:30for was that boat ride to the island.
- 36:32>> Skylar: And the guide.
- 36:34>> Cameron: And the guide. Yeah, and the guide. That was it,
- 36:36really.
- 36:37>> Cameron: So the boat ride. The guide. And a
- 36:40date. And a date to a hot leaf.
- 36:42>> Skylar: Juice to a, Well, nobody in this
- 36:44entire room except for Brock Lee,
- 36:47supported hot leaf juice in any way,
- 36:51to be fair.
- 36:52>> Mikayla: But, you know, karma, he got arrested.
- 36:54>> Cameron: So I got arrested immediately after.
- 36:58>> Skylar: That's a good way of looking at it. Awesome. Karen.
- 37:01>> Cameron: Well, I want to piggyback off of where you're already at.
- 37:03>> Skylar: You could probably piggyback on comedy. Yeah.
- 37:05>> Cameron: So this was a question asked by Luke.
- 37:07>> Skylar: Okay.
- 37:08>> Cameron: Hey, a good friend of ours, and,
- 37:11the question plays off of what you were talking
- 37:13about, which was, was there anything or storylines or
- 37:16NPC's that completely got skipped over because of our choices?
- 37:19So one of them was the warehouse you prepared, but did you have
- 37:22any other moments or characters that you had in
- 37:25mind that we just completely skipped over.
- 37:27>> Skylar: Yeah. So this is kind of a big one.
- 37:29>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 37:30>> Skylar: So the original intent was
- 37:33not necessarily to end with season three. I
- 37:36had plans that were going to go past that already in
- 37:39place, and it was kind of more. I
- 37:42don't know. I don't feel like it would have been as, like, fun. I feel like
- 37:45it would have kind of felt like, you know, when shows.
- 37:47>> Cameron: Go too far, you're dragging up the story. Yeah.
- 37:49>> Skylar: But at the same time, I don't know, there could have been some fundamental moments. So
- 37:53I wanted you guys to obviously get the best blissful brew
- 37:55back, but the overarching concept
- 37:58that Madame Yang and hot leaf juice were still
- 38:01obviously out there and still obviously kind of a
- 38:03superpower. And then on top of it,
- 38:06in season three, you guys had that whole look into one of their
- 38:09factories and, seeing how, like, they're
- 38:12getting orphans from the Fire nation and just kind of manipulating
- 38:15them and using them and stuff like that. And so I was going to turn
- 38:18them into this, like, basically big corporation that you guys were
- 38:21going to take down little by little, and that's what was going
- 38:24to be future seasons. So you guys were going to
- 38:27travel either across the earth nation, and then, like, each season
- 38:30would be you guys taking down one of the
- 38:32shops or one of the major factories or something like
- 38:35that. So, going off of that, probably
- 38:38one of my favorite ones that I had planned was in the
- 38:41Fire nation in the Ember Islands, I think
- 38:44it was, which in the show is where, like,
- 38:47zuko and, Azula go to, like, have, like, that little
- 38:49vacation, basically. Yeah. So there was gonna be,
- 38:52like, a beachside, like,
- 38:55tea smoothie shack, and there was gonna be, like,
- 38:58this really chill dude that was running it, and it was technically
- 39:01owned and run. Bye. Buy hot leaf juice. But this guy was just kind of,
- 39:04like, you know, your. Your classic, like, chill, bro
- 39:07kind of guy. And I was like, oh, man, are they going to take this
- 39:10place down, or are they just going to, like, befriend this guy and try to
- 39:13convince him to, like, convert to blissful brew or something like
- 39:15that? I don't know. That was just one of the ideas, but, yeah. So that was kind of,
- 39:18like, the overarching things that got
- 39:21skipped over. That was kind of the plan. But I know
- 39:24that we've got other things that we wanted to run and there are
- 39:27some life changes and things and just didn't. It wouldn't work
- 39:30out. But at the same time, I don't. I don't know if it would have
- 39:33even been a fun sort of series to continue
- 39:35going on. On. I think we ended on a really powerful
- 39:38emotional note.
- 39:40>> Cameron: I think the timing and the ending was a good ending.
- 39:43>> Skylar: It worked out awesome.
- 39:45>> Mikayla: Mikayla, question,
- 39:48for Cameron.
- 39:51>> Cameron: Hello.
- 39:53>> Mikayla: this is from zcarthe card
- 39:55now, something like
- 39:58that. there's, like, a lot to it, so
- 40:02sit down for a good time. What
- 40:05might life be like for Ash now that he had, now
- 40:08that he is back in the Fire nation? Like, what are his long
- 40:10term goals, such as a job? Does he join his
- 40:13father's factory? What about the coming war being
- 40:16enacted by the Fire nation? What? His dad choose to leave the fire
- 40:19nation to escape being a part of that, and where would
- 40:22they go?
- 40:22>> Skylar: Dang, the hard hitting bill questions.
- 40:25>> Cameron: See, I always thought about that because he's going back home with his
- 40:28family and stuff, and it's all. That's a lot of questions
- 40:31in one.
- 40:32>> Dave: Depends if the Fire nation has a
- 40:34draft.
- 40:35>> Mikayla: Oh, but I mean, it's all that.
- 40:38>> Cameron: Kind of is really important. Like, I feel like
- 40:41that would answer all the questions also, like, I don't
- 40:44know much about, like, the
- 40:46lore of Avatar, so I don't know, like,
- 40:51and, I don't know, like, if your family's rich, if you can
- 40:54skip the draft, because Bill's family is very rich.
- 40:57>> Skylar: I feel like you just get put into a position of, like,
- 41:00higher leadership within the military.
- 41:01>> Cameron: That's probably what would happen. So if there, if the war
- 41:04happened, I, so I assumed what would happen
- 41:07was Bill would go back to work with his dad, right, and his
- 41:10brother, and they would start working to
- 41:12basically because the war
- 41:15then soon starts building up. And so him and his
- 41:18family, since it's very clear his family's anti the
- 41:21war and all these efforts and stuff, especially with what bill's seen
- 41:24firsthand, and the earth nation heard the earth nation
- 41:27reports, and then tells his dad about the stuff really
- 41:30happening. They're taking over towns, trapping people,
- 41:33killing a lot of people, you know, all this bad stuff. Then his dad
- 41:36definitely be even more anti stuff. So I think their factory would
- 41:39be like, make their.
- 41:42The factory is in charge of making weapons, like the met
- 41:44weapons of, like, the tanks and those vehicles and stuff,
- 41:47the warships and all this stuff. So I think his dad would start
- 41:50basically creating them to have, like,
- 41:53misfires and, like, jamming and
- 41:56flaws and, basically when they're in combat, they would just stop
- 41:59working and stuff, basically because that way gives the
- 42:02people a chance to fight back.
- 42:03>> Skylar: Right.
- 42:04>> Cameron: But then I think what would have happened is they would have
- 42:06caught on. His dad probably would have been put in prison,
- 42:09lost his seat, and then Bill and Blaze
- 42:12would have been probably forced to join the, Because
- 42:15that. Because I truly think if they were going against the
- 42:18nation, eventually they would find out, and then they would
- 42:21throw them in the military as punishment. And then his dad
- 42:24would lose his title and probably be forced to retire.
- 42:27But since his status, he wouldn't go to the military. Just be
- 42:30like, maybe become like a iroh, you know, where
- 42:33he's like a general, but kind of being
- 42:36forced against his will. Like, iroh, kind of like, iroh's
- 42:39a general, but like, yeah, he really doesn't want to
- 42:42fight. He's just like, I don't want to do this. I'm just going to, tell
- 42:44my troops to do the wrong things all the time.
- 42:46>> Skylar: Well, yeah, like, they kind of put him into a useless position, basically.
- 42:49>> Cameron: And that's what I think where Bill's dad would or
- 42:52Ash's dad would be. But I think truly Ash and his
- 42:55brother, probably, like ten years, 510 years, whenever
- 42:58the war really starts heating up,
- 43:02they would be forced to join the army.
- 43:04>> Mikayla: So you think that they would stay and not
- 43:07run. You'd think they'd fight behind the scenes and not.
- 43:09>> Cameron: They would definitely be trying to
- 43:14help without hurting
- 43:17in a way.
- 43:17>> Skylar: Right.
- 43:18>> Cameron: But, like, at the same time, they also don't want
- 43:21to get even more in trouble and then killed because
- 43:24of what they're doing. So they would have to be like,
- 43:27I don't know, maybe they. One time they.
- 43:29They. When the army's off in the earth nation doing stuff, maybe
- 43:32they run away from the army and escape together, and then
- 43:35they start working with, like, that recon.
- 43:38What that. What's that? Team squadron. Maybe
- 43:41since Bill knows where they, know has connections to them, maybe they
- 43:44separate from the war army, and if that group still exists,
- 43:47maybe they join them.
- 43:48>> Skylar: I can see a really interesting plotline developing. So,
- 43:51like, right now, as we're waiting
- 43:54for, I don't know, I think it's Netflix or whoever to
- 43:57make. They're making an adult, like
- 43:59Aang in the gangs animated series of, like, what
- 44:02they do once they reach adulthood. Between then and legend of
- 44:05Korra, basically what happens. It'd be really interesting
- 44:08to do something like that for benders and bruise, where Bill
- 44:11grows up with Ember and they get
- 44:14forced into the military and stuff. And then they're like the
- 44:16bad guys to some extent, because even
- 44:19within. Because you guys have seen our dad was trying
- 44:22to subtly do things to harm the Fire Nation
- 44:25military. Yeah. we can't fall for those
- 44:28same mistakes because look what happened to him.
- 44:30>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 44:30>> Skylar: And so you guys are trying to, like, like you said, maybe
- 44:33not do as much damage, but, like, I still got to kind of fall
- 44:36in line to some extent. And then you run into these
- 44:39guys who are still over in the fire or the
- 44:41earth nation, and maybe you guys, to some
- 44:44extent, are somehow brought into the fight. And
- 44:47then you're looking across the battlefield and you see
- 44:50your old friend Bill
- 44:53doar, who you would exchange letters with up until
- 44:56a certain point, you know, and there's, like,
- 44:59obviously some intense tension there. Maybe there's even a
- 45:01situation where Bill is part of, like, a specific
- 45:04military task force that's taking over
- 45:06gaoling. And then obviously you guys get caught
- 45:09up in that and you're thinking, oh, it's our friend Bill. He's going to get
- 45:12us out of this. And he's like, I gotta continue my
- 45:15cover. Take him to the prison camps or
- 45:17something like that. Like, whoa. And that means
- 45:20Brock goes back to a prison camp, which that would be
- 45:23interesting. Mika and her dad would be in a
- 45:26prison camp, which means I'd have to do the voice for that still.
- 45:31Whoa. I like the idea that, like, hold on. I know
- 45:34this is one of my questions of what would be an interesting side
- 45:37story, and we're just creating it right now.
- 45:39>> Cameron: Well taken. Our very happy ending and being
- 45:42like, we
- 45:45all know that, yeah, there's a war coming.
- 45:48>> Skylar: Here's the thing. It doesn't come back together at the end.
- 45:51Usually someone has to die.
- 45:59>> Cameron: I was never a fan of Mika.
- 46:03>> Skylar: And also Mika's dad's.
- 46:05>> Mikayla: You're my brother husband. Come on.
- 46:10>> Cameron: I was your brother husband. Baby daddy.
- 46:12Yes.
- 46:13>> Skylar: That was also a really, that whole episode was another
- 46:16really favorite moment.
- 46:18>> Cameron: Osha, Osha.
- 46:21>> Cameron: Ben and snap. it's high.
- 46:24>> Skylar: Rockets high. That's true.
- 46:25>> Cameron: The brother husband's baby daddy
- 46:28situation.
- 46:29>> Skylar: So convoluted. But, I mean, it was different people.
- 46:32It was information spread across different people. So it's
- 46:35like, oh, I guess it's okay.
- 46:36>> Cameron: And then all while that was going on on the outside, I think Guo
- 46:39and Bill were, like, juggling or something.
- 46:43>> Skylar: Trying to get dips. I like
- 46:46how we had, like, a really intense, serious discussion going on, and then
- 46:49we're like, no, wait, wait.
- 46:50>> Cameron: Let's pull it back because it doesn't fit the vibe of our show.
- 46:53>> Skylar: Too much, too much, too hard, too fast. That's
- 46:55our, like, our Patreon adulthood. Version
- 46:58of the show that you can subscribe. We don't have that yet.
- 47:01We'll see what happens. Whose turn was it? I lost, I think
- 47:04you.
- 47:05>> Cameron: I was done with my answer and then you just kind of
- 47:08kept going. No, I don't care. It's a
- 47:10great side track.
- 47:13>> Skylar: Hey everyone. Skyler, the game master for benders and
