Transcript
- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm Megan,
- 0:14Speaker 1: and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm a
- 0:16Speaker 1: former Hallmark hater. We're back with the Way Home Listener Mailbag,
- 0:20Speaker 1: edition number six for season four, with your emails and
- 0:25Speaker 1: a voicemail to discuss today. We're going to kick off
- 0:29Speaker 1: our discussion with a correction from last week to a
- 0:32Speaker 1: statement that I made in our episode six recap. A
- 0:36Speaker 1: couple people emailed just about this, and this is from Alyssa,
- 0:39Speaker 1: who says the scene with Jacob and Danny takes place
- 0:41Speaker 1: at the Landry farm. Note for the audio. I said
- 0:45Speaker 1: that they were I thought they were. Yeah, me too.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I was like, weren't they at Good Wines, Goodwins, Good Wines, No, ma'am.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Earlier in the season, Danny told Dell he would help
- 0:54Speaker 1: out on the farm while Jacob was gone, so I
- 0:56Speaker 1: don't think he still works at the winery. Also, Jacob
- 0:59Speaker 1: came across as a little too blase in that scene,
- 1:01Speaker 1: almost like sorry, I got you fired, but I've moved on,
- 1:03Speaker 1: so are we good? I think the show wants us
- 1:05Speaker 1: to be suspicious of Danny, but I'm not convinced he's
- 1:08Speaker 1: actually untrustworthy. I'm sorry Danny got fired from the winery too,
- 1:13Speaker 1: perhaps because of his connections to Jacob. Okay, I also
- 1:17Speaker 1: agree with Alyssa that Jacob was a little blase and
- 1:21Speaker 1: I like that word was a little blase and in
- 1:24Speaker 1: that scene too, I'm back. I just want to get
- 1:26Speaker 1: my hands dirty. Can I stop you there for a second. Yeah,
- 1:29Speaker 1: I'm scrolling, scrolling, scrolling through all the listener emails here
- 1:34Speaker 1: and there's not one saying, Hey, Wendy, we saw Sam
- 1:38Speaker 1: in the background too. No, can I just say wtf?
- 1:42Speaker 1: I think someone said, like I missed that. Well, okay,
- 1:45Speaker 1: go back and watch it. I feel like so proud
- 1:48Speaker 1: of myself that I noticed it. Just wait, just wait, guys,
- 1:51Speaker 1: just wait, watch it never be touched on again? Do
- 1:54Speaker 1: you remember from like Also, Wendy doesn't know anything. It
- 1:56Speaker 1: made this for some weeit. I don't know anything. I
- 1:59Speaker 1: mean you're saying just wait as if you have details
- 2:02Speaker 1: about what's going to be revealed about Sam. No, I
- 2:04Speaker 1: know nothing. And I also want to say, we have
- 2:07Speaker 1: screeners through episode nine sitting in our account. I am
- 2:09Speaker 1: intentionally not watching ahead same because I need my experience
- 2:13Speaker 1: like I'm trying to experience it in real time. The
- 2:15Speaker 1: watching and then the mail bag discussion and then the
- 2:18Speaker 1: new episode before is like, I know you have the screeners. Yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 1: we do, and I have not watched. Oh I watched
- 2:24Speaker 1: episode seven because we're going to review that next. But
- 2:26Speaker 1: does it Let's inside baseball. When you watch ahead and
- 2:29Speaker 1: you're trying to rew episode, you don't want to mix
- 2:33Speaker 1: anything up and maybe give something away or make a
- 2:38Speaker 1: connection out allowed on the podcast, right, I don't want
- 2:41Speaker 1: to do that, Brittany says, No, I totally missed the
- 2:44Speaker 1: coin Man posters B two deps, so go back and
- 2:48Speaker 1: look at it. Yeah, or even on our website, Girls
- 2:51Speaker 1: Gone homemarket dot Com. I put screenshots in there. Do
- 2:55Speaker 1: you want me to read this next one? Yeah, we're
- 2:57Speaker 1: going to talk about Alice and Max, Alissa writes, I
- 3:01Speaker 1: can buy that Alice and Max are friends, but I
- 3:04Speaker 1: agree we need more show, not tell. They could have
- 3:07Speaker 1: had a few flashback moments on the Scavenger Hunt to
- 3:11Speaker 1: make that point. I also get that they had to
- 3:14Speaker 1: fast track some storylines, so it doesn't work as well
- 3:16Speaker 1: as it did with Kat and Elliot. I agree with
- 3:19Speaker 1: all that. Yep, Jessica says, regarding Max yelling at Alice,
- 3:23Speaker 1: the speech she gave her very much mirrors Alice's speech
- 3:27Speaker 1: to Evelyn after Colton picks Dell and rejects the record
- 3:32Speaker 1: deal in season three, as well as many other pushes
- 3:36Speaker 1: Alice gives Evelyn to move on. It's almost as if
- 3:40Speaker 1: Max learned those lessons from his grandmother, who learned them
- 3:43Speaker 1: from Alice herself. Ooh, that's a full circle moment. Huh yeah.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Continuing to talk about Alice and Max, Francisco says, Okay,
- 3:50Speaker 1: this is going to be an unpopular hot take on Alice.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Max was right. She isn't going to get anything from
- 3:56Speaker 1: not leaving Port Haven, at least for an education. Elliott
- 3:59Speaker 1: left and had a life before coming back. It's not
- 4:01Speaker 1: like it's even a college town as far as music goes.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It's not exactly Nashville, so she couldn't do anything with
- 4:06Speaker 1: that there. I don't think he's jealous, but just doesn't
- 4:08Speaker 1: say she's living up to her potential. I say, go
- 4:11Speaker 1: off to college and if you want to come back,
- 4:13Speaker 1: come back, and if you don't, there's myriads of opportunities
- 4:16Speaker 1: for you when you're young. Port Haven isn't the end
- 4:18Speaker 1: all be all. I mean, I don't disagree with that
- 4:21Speaker 1: at all, but I do see where Alice is coming from. Like,
- 4:24Speaker 1: you know, maybe she's afraid to leave home. She's afraid
- 4:28Speaker 1: of the change. Also, the timing's super convenient. We're really
- 4:32Speaker 1: in the middle of a lot of mess at home.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I get what she's like. I can't leave now. I'm
- 4:36Speaker 1: a key to unraveling this time traveling mystery exactly. Kaylee says,
- 4:40Speaker 1: first of all, I love Alice and Max. I thought
- 4:42Speaker 1: they had so much chemistry last season, and I love
- 4:44Speaker 1: their kiss. I want them to be together, but obviously
- 4:46Speaker 1: I don't want her to cheat on Noah. I would
- 4:48Speaker 1: love for Noah to break up with her and tell
- 4:50Speaker 1: Max he sees how they are together and give his blessings.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Very unrealistic, but very hallmark. I was disappointed with their
- 4:57Speaker 1: argument at the cove. I don't understand what the writers
- 4:59Speaker 1: are going for. Surely it's going to lead to one
- 5:01Speaker 1: of them coming clean about their feelings. My hope is
- 5:04Speaker 1: that Max is being so harsh as a defense mechanism
- 5:06Speaker 1: to not show his true feelings. If you can't tell,
- 5:09Speaker 1: This is what I'm most interested in I'm so interested
- 5:14Speaker 1: in that last sentence. Of all the things in the show,
- 5:18Speaker 1: she's most interested in the Max and Alis storyline. Well,
- 5:22Speaker 1: let's think about the relationships. Is there a relationship, a
- 5:26Speaker 1: romantic relationship in this show that you are currently more
- 5:29Speaker 1: invested in. No, me either. There are other mysteries that
- 5:38Speaker 1: I'm more curious about at this point, but I am
- 5:43Speaker 1: curious about this romantic relationship and where it's headed. I'm
- 5:46Speaker 1: going to play a voicemail.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Anna, I am so happy they popping you guys today.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I love you guys.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I love your podcast.
- 5:53Speaker 4: This next episode twenty apart a be like all my
- 5:56Speaker 4: theory and they're going down the dreat The only thing
- 5:59Speaker 4: is I have to day about this episout is I'm
- 6:02Speaker 4: hearing a lot of things about like, you know, why
- 6:04Speaker 4: would group fellow mean Alan be like he it's mad
- 6:08Speaker 4: because he wants.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Her to go to New York, you know, obviously to
- 6:11Speaker 3: fane her dream. I think he's like, if he even
- 6:14Speaker 3: New York, I'll be able to get over her because
- 6:16Speaker 3: he's obviously in love with her, and I slip them.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I want them to be together so bad.
- 6:22Speaker 3: But also, if Jacob and Abby get married, then the
- 6:24Speaker 3: good ones in Lavery would be related by marriage, so
- 6:27Speaker 3: then they're kind of creepy.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I don't know, and I slip things of them them
- 6:32Speaker 2: having a bit of trouble, but I've ended up seeing
- 6:35Speaker 2: I think that kind of trying to get her to
- 6:38Speaker 2: New York too, like towards himself to.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Get over her because of the thankfully to see.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I hope you like, live a great day and thank
- 6:46Speaker 2: you for much good podcast and make me enjoy the
- 6:50Speaker 2: show that much more.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Have a great day, ladies, and we'll talk Keith film.
- 6:54Speaker 1: That is a perspective. I had not considered that Max
- 6:57Speaker 1: wants Alice gone so that he can get over her.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I hadn't thought about that either. But what do you
- 7:03Speaker 1: think about the fact of like Jacob and Alice marrying
- 7:07Speaker 1: brother and sister. Kind of weird? But is it?
- 7:11Speaker 2: Though?
- 7:12Speaker 1: Not really? I mean when she said, like, oh, they
- 7:15Speaker 1: would be related, I was like, by by marriage. I mean,
- 7:18Speaker 1: you've seen like twins Mary Twins. Of course, Yeah, it's
- 7:22Speaker 1: not that outlandish. But but maybe Alice and Max truly
- 7:27Speaker 1: end up just being friends. Maybe they are. You know,
- 7:29Speaker 1: we heard Casey say no, that's not my dad or
- 7:34Speaker 1: you and Max aren't my parents, right, But yes, you're right,
- 7:37Speaker 1: So maybe they're just leading us to believe like that's
- 7:41Speaker 1: supposed to be, Like what, who's in a game? But
- 7:44Speaker 1: in game is maybe Abby and Jacob. I don't know, man,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I don't know. Let's talk Cat's time traveling troubles. Alyssa says,
- 7:56Speaker 1: I've really felt like the show was going to give
- 7:59Speaker 1: us the emotional moments we've been missing because at the
- 8:02Speaker 1: beginning of the episode, Kat and Alice were finally talking
- 8:06Speaker 1: about spending time together on the road trip to college.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I thought, great, the show finally remembers that Cat has
- 8:12Speaker 1: a daughter and that their relationship should matter. But then
- 8:16Speaker 1: the episode undercuts that by having Cat jump in the
- 8:19Speaker 1: pond with Elliott. She's already been jailed twice and nearly
- 8:24Speaker 1: killed by the Augie Boys, but two days before her
- 8:27Speaker 1: daughter leaves for college, she still decides to time travel
- 8:31Speaker 1: and hope nothing goes wrong. Then, to make matters worse,
- 8:36Speaker 1: she acts impulsively as per usual and practically guarantees that
- 8:41Speaker 1: something will go wrong. Yeah, Cat doesn't make great decisions. Nope, Nope,
- 8:47Speaker 1: that has been established.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Yep.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I think as viewers when we hear like Kat come
- 8:52Speaker 1: up with an idea we shall just be like, no, nope, nope, Kat, Nope, nope,
- 8:58Speaker 1: it's going to end badly for you. And I feel
- 9:00Speaker 1: bad because, like, her character is interesting. I'm invested in
- 9:06Speaker 1: the character of Cat, but she makes poor decisions, impulsive ones.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Don't run out on the beach. No, it's not frustrating, truly.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of another character on TV who's
- 9:21Speaker 1: that badly behave, Yeah, that you would be like, stop
- 9:24Speaker 1: doing that. Can you think of anybody from like the
- 9:27Speaker 1: history of shows you've watched. Nobody comes to mind right now,
- 9:32Speaker 1: but I'm certain there's someone when every time they come
- 9:34Speaker 1: on the screen, you go, oh, this isn't gonna go well, yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 1: The only person I can really think of is like
- 9:39Speaker 1: Michael Scott from the Office, And it's not that he
- 9:42Speaker 1: he just says bad things that are like cringey, you know,
- 9:46Speaker 1: but Kat does bad things also kind of Steve Carrell's
- 9:50Speaker 1: character on Roaster right, like exactly, we're just put in
- 9:53Speaker 1: his mouth constantly. But he's not behaving badly. But Cat,
- 9:56Speaker 1: and I wouldn't say behave. She's not behaving badly. She
- 9:59Speaker 1: just it makes terrible impulsive decisions. Yeah, she's followed a
- 10:04Speaker 1: little bit by a dark cloud kind of Yeah, Francisco
- 10:08Speaker 1: wais in. He says, yeah, you guys know where this
- 10:11Speaker 1: is going. Kat continues to be the worst time traveler
- 10:15Speaker 1: and sets a horrible example for Elliott. For someone who
- 10:18Speaker 1: wants to keep hidden, nothing does that more than running
- 10:21Speaker 1: around yelling Elliott's name. And that was the loudest whisper ever. Yeah.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I think about that all the time, Like the Tessa
- 10:29Speaker 1: I'm here from the future. Everybody's watching you on stage
- 10:34Speaker 1: with Tessa, who was putting a show on. I actually
- 10:38Speaker 1: loled when I listened to our episode back of that anyway,
- 10:42Speaker 1: would he writes, I wouldn't have been shocked if people
- 10:45Speaker 1: in the back hurd it. Yeah, Tessa, I'm here from
- 10:49Speaker 1: that chair. It's really funny. It's really funny. It's laughable. Hey,
- 10:55Speaker 1: let's take a quick break and we'll come right back
- 10:57Speaker 1: with more. Listen our mailbag. Several of you wrote in
- 11:09Speaker 1: do you have thoughts on time travelers? Discussing their plans.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Elisa says, when you were discussing Casey's openness about time travel,
- 11:14Speaker 1: I think you may have forgotten that Alice was open
- 11:17Speaker 1: with nineteen ninety nine Elliott in season one about being
- 11:20Speaker 1: a time traveler. Older Elliott later told Cat and Alice
- 11:23Speaker 1: that his life was ruined because of it. Oh yeah,
- 11:26Speaker 1: well that seems more connected to what Alice told him specifically.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I think Cat and Alice took the lesson to heart,
- 11:31Speaker 1: which is why they're now so careful about telling people
- 11:33Speaker 1: they can time travel. I had forgotten about the Alice
- 11:37Speaker 1: telling Elliott situation. Jessica wants to talk about Elliott. She
- 11:43Speaker 1: writes in an earlier episode in the nineteen seventies, Alice
- 11:48Speaker 1: finds eyeglasses in the tunnel at Lingermore. My guess is
- 11:52Speaker 1: those are Elliott's glasses. Did this happen this season? Yeah?
- 11:58Speaker 1: I don't remember that. Yeah, when she's visiting, when she
- 12:03Speaker 1: and Evelyn, when they were down there in the tunnels,
- 12:06Speaker 1: like season four, episode two, Ash picks up the broken eyewear. Okay,
- 12:12Speaker 1: So what is Jessica trying to sing here? That Elliott
- 12:17Speaker 1: was there at some point in the tunnels at Lingamore.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Do you can you theorize why he'd be in the
- 12:27Speaker 1: tunnels at Lingamore? No, but he and Kat are in
- 12:30Speaker 1: nineteen twenty five in this episode, and we know there's
- 12:34Speaker 1: something coming in the tunnels at Lingermore five one in
- 12:38Speaker 1: four went now yeah, yeah, oh no. Do you think
- 12:42Speaker 1: Elliott is okay? Here, here's here's another question. Yeah, if
- 12:49Speaker 1: there's like an explosion that happens, just hear me out.
- 12:53Speaker 1: If there's an explosion that happens in the tunnels under this,
- 12:57Speaker 1: stay more not fall down one and Elliott's glasst say
- 13:01Speaker 1: he's down there and those are his glasses. From nineteen
- 13:05Speaker 1: twenty five to nineteen seventy, these broken glasses have been
- 13:08Speaker 1: laying there for years upon years upon years upon years.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Nobody's gone down there. Good question. Tell me what happens
- 13:15Speaker 1: in all those years and Lesslingamore is like closed up? Yeah? Well,
- 13:19Speaker 1: who would have been there in between Grayson and Evelyn?
- 13:22Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah. Where is Evelyn's parents? Evelyn's parents
- 13:26Speaker 1: would have been there?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Right?
- 13:27Speaker 1: Hmmmm? Hm is Grace and her grandfather great grandfather? What's
- 13:31Speaker 1: the what's the lineage there? Probably her great grandfather, Okay.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Jessica has some thoughts on Fern and Tessa. She says
- 13:38Speaker 1: a few episodes back nineteen seventies, Fern lost it on Tessa.
- 13:41Speaker 1: In the nineteen twenties, Tessa was apparently a beloved anti coop,
- 13:45Speaker 1: So clearly something changed. What if Tessa is ultimately responsible
- 13:50Speaker 1: for the reason Fern is a single parent? She also says,
- 13:54Speaker 1: You'll never be a landry. Does Fern know about Tessa
- 13:58Speaker 1: and Griffin's presumed relationship before it even happens because of
- 14:02Speaker 1: what happens in the nineteen twenties, That's what I say
- 14:06Speaker 1: to that. It confuses me when we factor in Griffin
- 14:11Speaker 1: because we don't even know Griffin, right, we just assume
- 14:15Speaker 1: that Griffin and Tessa jumped together and all this other
- 14:18Speaker 1: stuff about like single parenting. I don't I don't know,
- 14:22Speaker 1: maybe anything as possible. Yeah, I'm curious. I had to
- 14:28Speaker 1: forgotten about that whole explosion that Fern has on Tessa
- 14:34Speaker 1: in the seventies, and that prior to that there was
- 14:41Speaker 1: a beloved connection there. So know that we didn't know that.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Now we do, but I forgot to put those pieces together.
- 14:49Speaker 1: M goal for the ride. Don't try to figure it out, right, Yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 1: Summer writes in can we please talk about Megan follows
- 14:56Speaker 1: as Tessa and we're talking about anti coop coupe, the
- 15:00Speaker 1: Tessa we saw in the in the show, in the
- 15:04Speaker 1: in the stage, the stage. Futura contest food. That's it
- 15:10Speaker 1: in at the circus, She says, Anne freaking Shirley. I
- 15:13Speaker 1: hope I'm not the only one out here who was
- 15:15Speaker 1: a fan of Anne of green Gables growing up. Saw
- 15:18Speaker 1: her name in the opening credits and got super excited.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I love her and I googled her age. She's fifty eight.
- 15:24Speaker 1: If that helps with your math, Oh no it does not,
- 15:28Speaker 1: because didn't I say like seventy. My apologies, Michelle writes,
- 15:32Speaker 1: and Megan follows, as Tessa made my eighties and of
- 15:35Speaker 1: green Gable's heart happy. I wanted blythe for my daughter's name,
- 15:39Speaker 1: but I got Reagan within a nne in her spelling instead.
- 15:46Speaker 1: You guys, I feel like a real idiot because I
- 15:48Speaker 1: never watched that show. I don't know who any of
- 15:50Speaker 1: these people are. I didn't either. Michelle also wrote fun fact,
- 15:54Speaker 1: Netflix's Anne with an E filmed in the same place
- 15:57Speaker 1: as Landry Farm, green Gables, and Elliott's house was Gilbert's house.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Oh I love that when they when you recognize, you know,
- 16:06Speaker 1: the Gilmour Girls gazebo, Yeah, part of Dixie Man Paradise Paradise, Yeah, yeah,
- 16:13Speaker 1: a lot of people were very excited about Megan follows
- 16:15Speaker 1: appearing as Tessa. That was a big get. I like Wendy,
- 16:19Speaker 1: did not watch Anna of Green Gables, but it was
- 16:21Speaker 1: very exciting people. She's been in a lot of things
- 16:24Speaker 1: as well. Summer wrote, I absolutely love the nod to
- 16:27Speaker 1: the Romeo and Juliet balcony scene between Jacob and Abbey,
- 16:30Speaker 1: including the line what's in a name? It made my
- 16:33Speaker 1: Shakespeare loving heart happy. I didn't I didn't make the connection.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I've been watching too much Bravo too uh, but kick
- 16:41Speaker 1: up on the nice in the post Julian era. Yes,
- 16:46Speaker 1: more Shakespeare. Kaylee says Abigail and Jacob I hate this
- 16:52Speaker 1: for one thing, their barn confession was so cheesy and weird. Second,
- 16:56Speaker 1: how old is Abigail? Jacob was eight in nineteen ninety nine,
- 16:59Speaker 1: so he'd be thirty and twenty twenty six. Max is
- 17:02Speaker 1: presumably eighteen. Abigail could be ten years older at twenty eight. Third,
- 17:06Speaker 1: with the show, really have two landries end up with goodwins?
- 17:09Speaker 1: I really want it to be Alice and Max. I
- 17:12Speaker 1: can't with them freaking ages and math Okay, but their
- 17:17Speaker 1: ages are not actually that complicated. There is no I know,
- 17:20Speaker 1: but I'm like no more math. Finally, Brittany says there's
- 17:25Speaker 1: no way Lewis will allow a relationship between Abby and
- 17:29Speaker 1: Jacob because Jacob is emotionally unstable, which makes sense why
- 17:33Speaker 1: Casey is a Goodwin and not a Landry. Ladies, we
- 17:36Speaker 1: now have a Romeo and Juliette situation going on. Abigail
- 17:40Speaker 1: is Romeo and Jacob is Juliette based on familial grudges.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I was thinking this before we even got our balcony
- 17:46Speaker 1: scene and what's in a name? But since Jacob was
- 17:49Speaker 1: the reason the feud began in the first place, with
- 17:51Speaker 1: his Helen of Troy Susannah being stolen by his arch
- 17:55Speaker 1: rival Goodwin, he could be the one to end the
- 17:58Speaker 1: tensions too. Now we just need Jacob and Lewis to
- 18:01Speaker 1: make real reparations, turn their backs on the feud, and
- 18:05Speaker 1: move forward with forgiveness. Will that happen? I think not.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Lewis already tried that, and in a total Tibalt move,
- 18:12Speaker 1: Jacob tried to burn down the vineyard. Y'all are real smart.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I agree. I agree. Why do we have a podcast
- 18:23Speaker 1: because these people should? My goodness? Yeah, I wonder if
- 18:29Speaker 1: people listen to us and are like, what a bunch
- 18:32Speaker 1: of dummies. These chicks are like they can't see that
- 18:35Speaker 1: there's obviously a Romeo and Juliet connection here. Sometimes it's
- 18:39Speaker 1: hard to see the forest for the trees. I'm wearing
- 18:43Speaker 1: blinders apparently because we're I think we're in too deep
- 18:47Speaker 1: in some ways, you know, I'm like dying on the
- 18:49Speaker 1: hill of Like didn't you see Sam on those advertise? Wow,
- 18:57Speaker 1: this is our last email, Emily writes, and I agree
- 19:00Speaker 1: with Wendy. Hey, somebody christmas me that the show should
- 19:04Speaker 1: have ended when Jacob came home. Oh yeah, I did
- 19:08Speaker 1: ask writers to our listeners to write in. This is
- 19:10Speaker 1: the only one I got. I mean, nobody was like, no,
- 19:13Speaker 1: Wendy's wrong, No, okay, cool. I agree with Wendy that
- 19:17Speaker 1: the show should have ended when Jacob came home. That
- 19:20Speaker 1: was the narrative driver of the whole show. And it
- 19:23Speaker 1: feels a bit like they have been grasping at straws
- 19:26Speaker 1: to make us care about new storylines in characters since
- 19:28Speaker 1: he came home. The second best place to end would
- 19:31Speaker 1: have been the season three finale. I think that episode
- 19:34Speaker 1: wrapped up so many things the nineteen seventies, the eighteen hundreds.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Dale gets to time travel and we see her wedding, etc.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I've been struggling to get invested in the current season
- 19:45Speaker 1: even if we didn't know this was the last season.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I haven't been able to care as much about the
- 19:50Speaker 1: current plots and travel shenanigans. That raises an interesting question.
- 19:55Speaker 1: You and I have been trying to enjoy the ride
- 19:59Speaker 1: recent we've been watching this show knowing that this is
- 20:03Speaker 1: the last season. We've been watching this show hoping that
- 20:06Speaker 1: there is some resolution. Would you still be watching if
- 20:09Speaker 1: you were just a fan of this show and you
- 20:11Speaker 1: didn't know we're heading toward resolution in three more episodes?
- 20:15Speaker 1: Or would they have lost you?
- 20:17Speaker 2: No?
- 20:17Speaker 1: I would still watch it. I do think season two
- 20:20Speaker 1: and three were better than the season m HM. Season
- 20:23Speaker 1: three was excellent. Well that's a wrap on this week's
- 20:26Speaker 1: Listener mail bag. We'll be back on Monday with our
- 20:30Speaker 1: review of season four, episode seven. Manon already watched it.
- 20:34Speaker 1: They did. I have some hot takes coming in for
- 20:37Speaker 1: that one and some predictions, so come back for that.
- 20:40Speaker 1: We'll see you next time. Goodbye bye, all right friends,
- 20:56Speaker 1: Before we go, just a quick heads up, you're about
- 20:58Speaker 1: to hear some ads Jones help us keep the show
- 21:01Speaker 1: running and the Hallmark love flowing. So do with that
- 21:04Speaker 1: info what you will, Grab a snack, hit the skip button,
- 21:08Speaker 1: or maybe just maybe listen in and discover your new
- 21:12Speaker 1: favorite product. Bye SA
