A 37-year-old woman, Darlene Hanna, stole two bottles of perfume worth $184.25 from her job at The Cosmetics Boutique on June 14th. She admitted guilt, and her lawyer begged for leniency. Senior Magistrate Kendra Kelly Burrows granted her a conditional discharge—no criminal record if she completes 50 hours of community service and pays back the full amount. Failure means a $300 fine or a month in jail. She’s scheduled to report on August 4th for payment and September 7th for community service progress.
