- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Smosa on seventoo Well, let's talk to the
- 0:09Speaker 1: greatest columnist of all, Michael Goodwin. His column is in
- 0:11Speaker 1: the New York Post every Sunday and every Wednesday, and
- 0:15Speaker 1: all his columns are up on the New York Post website.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Michael Goodwin, how you doing.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Good morning? Mark? Thank you.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Hey. You used to work at the New York Times
- 0:24Speaker 1: for a while, and you know that organization. They've always
- 0:27Speaker 1: been a pretty antisemitic going back, I mean even in
- 0:30Speaker 1: World War Two everything, But what the hell is going
- 0:33Speaker 1: on over here? They've gone over the top antisemitic.
- 0:38Speaker 2: The papers had a really checkered history with a lot
- 0:41Speaker 2: of the major issues in our world. I mean, I've written,
- 0:46Speaker 2: Mark and you and I've discussed I believe the fact
- 0:49Speaker 2: that the owning family were Confederate sympathizers during the Civil War,
- 0:58Speaker 2: and the fact the mother of the man who bought
- 1:02Speaker 2: The New York Times in eight ol Fox in eighteen
- 1:06Speaker 2: ninety six. She was buried with a Confederate flag on
- 1:11Speaker 2: her cask in, and she was a founding member of
- 1:15Speaker 2: the of several several Confederate monuments in the South. But
- 1:21Speaker 2: so they've had their checker history. Certain although the family
- 1:26Speaker 2: was Jewish. They've had the problems as you mentioned in
- 1:30Speaker 2: World War Two in not wanting to report on the
- 1:35Speaker 2: camps uh and then of course the covering for Stalin
- 1:41Speaker 2: in the whole Hong famine. Their correspondent I actually won
- 1:48Speaker 2: the pullets of the Pulitzer Prize at the time. Eventually
- 1:52Speaker 2: decided to have it removed, but the pullets aboard were
- 1:56Speaker 2: not withdraw the award. So you're right. The paper has
- 2:01Speaker 2: been all over the place. But I think what has
- 2:03Speaker 2: happened most recently is very troubling. It is it has
- 2:09Speaker 2: now equated Israel and America as colonists essentially, and so
- 2:17Speaker 2: you know, it's all about race and ethnicity, and so
- 2:22Speaker 2: the Palestinians are being held up as though they are
- 2:27Speaker 2: the black Americans of this country, and white America is horrible,
- 2:32Speaker 2: White Jewelry is horrible. So this is a patterning of
- 2:38Speaker 2: them going after the foundations of Western civilization. And it
- 2:45Speaker 2: doesn't make any sense except the radicals are now selecting
- 2:50Speaker 2: the topics and the targets, and the Times editors are
- 2:54Speaker 2: either complicit or sleep at the switch.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So they went so far as Nicholas Christoph writing this
- 3:00Speaker 1: ridiculous allegation that Israel is training dogs to rape women
- 3:04Speaker 1: with the flimsiest of sources. Why would the editor, why
- 3:08Speaker 1: would the publisher allow them to print something like that.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the thing, man, that was you know, as
- 3:14Speaker 2: you mentioned the source of my Sunday column. And it
- 3:19Speaker 2: just doesn't make any sense why you would go out
- 3:22Speaker 2: there and the science says it's anatomically impossible for dogs
- 3:28Speaker 2: to penetrate human beings, and yet they put that in
- 3:34Speaker 2: the paper and say it's all been fact checked. Well,
- 3:37Speaker 2: how do you fact check something that isn't scientific, that
- 3:42Speaker 2: isn't real. And so you know, the Post says a
- 3:46Speaker 2: story today coming out of the website park talking about
- 3:51Speaker 2: how there's some upset in the newsroom over this, and
- 3:56Speaker 2: I heard some of myself which I reported that people
- 4:02Speaker 2: are saying. This would not have passed Mustard as an
- 4:07Speaker 2: ordinary news story because somebody was said, well, what's your
- 4:12Speaker 2: source of dogs raping you and beans? And they would
- 4:17Speaker 2: have had to say, well, it's this person who is
- 4:20Speaker 2: a Hamas sympathizer or somebody who you know promoted Hamas. Okay,
- 4:26Speaker 2: well can we verify this any either way? A good
- 4:30Speaker 2: editor would ask, well, no, I can't find the scientist
- 4:34Speaker 2: who says it's even possible. Okay, spike the story. That's it.
- 4:39Speaker 2: We don't trust you, the reporter. It's actually what the
- 4:42Speaker 2: garbage you're producing. Take go home, Just go home, because
- 4:47Speaker 2: you're not trustworthy. But it's time instead through its full
- 4:53Speaker 2: support behind Christoph, because Christoph the man who actually wrote that.
- 4:59Speaker 2: And I think that in so doing they've implicated the
- 5:03Speaker 2: whole paper. Instead of sort of saying, wait a minute,
- 5:06Speaker 2: we have second thoughts here, they've wrapped their arms around
- 5:10Speaker 2: Christoph and effect we put the paper on the line
- 5:14Speaker 2: for what is simply a scientifically impossible act, not to
- 5:19Speaker 2: mention all the other things in his column that just
- 5:24Speaker 2: take this propaganda from this NNGO, which is filled with
- 5:30Speaker 2: Hamas sympathizers and printed as fa You cannot do that
- 5:36Speaker 2: at any level of journalism. As I say, my call
- 5:39Speaker 2: it a rookie. Your reporter would say no, no, no, I'm
- 5:43Speaker 2: not going there. But Christoph doesn't have paper embraces him.
- 5:48Speaker 2: That's compounding the error.
- 5:50Speaker 1: So now Israel has announced they will file a massive
- 5:53Speaker 1: lawsuit against the New York Times. What will come of that?
- 5:58Speaker 2: No, it's hard to see how you win the losses.
- 6:02Speaker 2: The whole country has been the things. Nonetheless, if you
- 6:07Speaker 2: can get into court and go through a discovery process,
- 6:12Speaker 2: or you're allowed to get into the emails and message
- 6:16Speaker 2: chain and anything that has to do with doubts about
- 6:21Speaker 2: the column, and then you can begin to really say
- 6:26Speaker 2: that they just ran through the doubts, they saw the
- 6:29Speaker 2: red lights, and they kept going because they wanted they
- 6:33Speaker 2: wanted to be able to say that the Israelis are
- 6:38Speaker 2: the beasts, the Israelis are the problem, and that they
- 6:42Speaker 2: have tortured the Palestinians. Oh, but we're not talk about
- 6:46Speaker 2: the Israeli hostages who were murdered, raped, corpses that were raped.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I mean, all the heinous things that the Palestinians in
- 6:57Speaker 2: the Times doesn't ready subscribe to. That it's only trying
- 7:02Speaker 2: to put the shoe on the other foot, that's what
- 7:05Speaker 2: they're about.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, some of our top top lawyers are all
- 7:09Speaker 1: volunteering to help Israel with this lawsuit, so we'll see what.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Look, I think I think this has already brought up
- 7:17Speaker 2: all the time, and it does hurt them beyond the
- 7:21Speaker 2: immediate case. It does reinforce this agenda that they have
- 7:27Speaker 2: and the perception that they are sort of out of
- 7:31Speaker 2: control and displaying the race card all the time, and
- 7:37Speaker 2: that they've lost touch with their own history, which is,
- 7:43Speaker 2: you know, all the news that fit to print, right,
- 7:46Speaker 2: and all the rules that are contracting. Somebody who're writing
- 7:50Speaker 2: about giving them time to respond that they're times of
- 7:54Speaker 2: tamous for those kind of standards, but they violate them
- 7:58Speaker 2: now every day.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, Michael good Will, golly a minute left, mom
- 8:03Speaker 1: Dannie with his anti Semitism, of his anti Israel, allowing
- 8:08Speaker 1: riots in front of synagogues, and some people are surprised
- 8:11Speaker 1: he's let it go this far, But then there are
- 8:12Speaker 1: other people saying, why didn't you believe when he told
- 8:15Speaker 1: you what he stands for when he was running.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point. Nobody should be surprised, that's right.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Make he made it very clear where he stood. I
- 8:26Speaker 2: can't I can't honestly say at this point that anything
- 8:30Speaker 2: he's done as mayor has been a surprise. I think
- 8:35Speaker 2: he is who he is, and he was who he
- 8:40Speaker 2: said he was, and he is today, So there's no
- 8:44Speaker 2: surprise here. Is still shocking that he was elected in
- 8:48Speaker 2: the first place.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Well, it's only three and a half more years. We
- 8:53Speaker 1: can make it right.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it seems like like I like.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Well, Michael Goodwin great work is always and everybody read
- 9:05Speaker 1: his column every Sunday every Wednesday in the New York Post.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Michael Goodwin, thanks for being.
- 9:10Speaker 2: With us, my blessure, Mark, thank you.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Take care.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Hey.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Coming up in noon, it's Buck Sexton and Clay Travis.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Oh.
- 9:19Speaker 1: At three o'clock, it's Sean Hannity, the most listened to
- 9:23Speaker 1: radio show in America. Now he's been on the trip
- 9:26Speaker 1: with the President. He was in shining with him the
- 9:28Speaker 1: whole time. It's a brutal flight. It's about seventeen hours.
- 9:32Speaker 1: That's some real jet leg. So Sean will be back today.
- 9:36Speaker 1: He'll probably have all sorts of inside stories and things
- 9:39Speaker 1: to tell you about the trip. That's three to six today,
- 9:43Speaker 1: and then you have Jesse Kelly at six o'clock. And
- 9:46Speaker 1: then you have the great Jimmy Faylo Show, very funny,
- 9:49Speaker 1: very good show every night nine to midnight. Here on
- 9:53Speaker 1: seven to ten WR
