  - Today's prayer focus is

  - what to do when prayer feels unanswered.

  - Scripture text comes from Psalms thirteen and one

  - and says, how long Lord

  - will you forget me forever?

  - How long will you hide your face from?
• 0:45
  - Well, we wanna start off the conversation by
• 0:48
  - saying that there are prayers we expect God
• 0:50
  - to answer
• 0:51
  - quickly.
• 0:53
  - Then the days become weeks,
• 0:55
  - the weeks become months,
• 0:58
  - and sometimes months become years.

  - And eventually
• 1:02
  - the question changes from when will God answer
• 1:06
  - me to
• 1:07
  - did God even hear me?
• 1:10
  - Well,
• 1:11
  - unanswered prayer can feel personal.
• 1:14
  - I mean, let's face it, we may wonder
• 1:17
  - whether we prayed incorrectly or lacked faith or
• 1:20
  - somehow just disappointed God.
• 1:23
  - But scripture is filled with faithful people who
• 1:25
  - experience seasons when God's answer seemed delayed or
• 1:28
  - unclear.
• 1:31
  - Even David prayed, how long Lord?
• 1:47
  - And the reason is because prayer doesn't require
• 1:49
  - pretending
• 1:50
  - that waiting is easy.
• 1:53
  - Scripture does tell us to tarry or wait
• 1:56
  - until,
• 1:57
  - and that until is
• 1:59
  - until
• 2:00
  - he decides or the appointed time or
• 2:04
  - whatever
• 2:05
  - have you.
• 2:07
  - It it just means wait, and that's the
• 2:09
  - hardest part.

  - So because of it, it's okay
• 2:15
  - for you to bring God your disappointment,
• 2:19
  - your questions.
• 2:21
  - And because you're not even sure whether or
• 2:23
  - not he heard you, which by the way,
• 2:24
  - he did,
• 2:26
  - your confusion.

  - So the question might be, well,
• 2:32
  - if he heard me, why doesn't he answer?

  - Well, the answer
• 2:38
  - is because
• 2:39
  - father knows what's best.

  - And so it's okay to say,

  - father, I don't understand your silence,

  - but I don't want my unanswered question to
• 2:50
  - become distance between us. Remember,

  - it's always about the relationship.

  - And so because of it, sometimes faith is
• 2:58
  - continuing the conversation

  - even when

  - we don't have the answer yet. So just

  - hang in there.

  - God's faithful and he'll get you through it

  - and answer

  - in his appointed time.

  - That being said, let's pray.

  - Heavenly father, you know the prayers we've prayed

  - and the answers
• 3:19
  - we're still waiting for.

  - Keep disappointment from creating distance between us.

  - Give us faith when we don't understand your
• 3:28
  - silence
• 3:29
  - and help us trust that you will hear
• 3:32
  - us
• 3:32
  - and we will bless you in Jesus' name.

  - Well, today's kingdom invitation is that if you

  - stopped praying about something because you became discouraged,
• 3:44
  - bring it back to God.
• 3:46
  - He can handle it.
• 3:48
  - And if someone you love has been waiting

  - a long time for an answer, also
• 3:53
  - share this prayer as a quiet reminder
