- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:10Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes eight fifty three through eight fifty five.
- 0:17Speaker 1: The Green Room, an invincible helmsman Jimbee, the Threat of
- 0:22Speaker 1: the Mole, Loofy's silent fight, the end of the Deadly Battle.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Category is awakening in anger. In these episodes, Lufy is
- 0:34Speaker 1: just continuing to do his thing as he does. Meanwhile,
- 0:40Speaker 1: it's possible that our friends are going to get away
- 0:45Speaker 1: on the sunny maybe maybe hmmm. Welcome to spoil Me,
- 1:02Speaker 1: of Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank
- 1:14Speaker 1: you very much to Florian for commissioning this episode. Sorry
- 1:21Speaker 1: if Florin is talking, we were talking about working on
- 1:24Speaker 1: the night shift at a hotel earlier, so there's a comment
- 1:26Speaker 1: here about that. Yeah, So I was like, this was
- 1:31Speaker 1: a section where I really wanted to watch the next one.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I this is a tough grouping of episodes because we're
- 1:44Speaker 1: in that that phase where Lufy is just having this long,
- 1:49Speaker 1: drawn out, repetitive fight with somebody that we will get
- 1:53Speaker 1: into sometimes. And the one thing that I will say
- 1:59Speaker 1: is that just does I really personally started to be like, Okay,
- 2:04Speaker 1: I think I'm starting to get bored with this. Kategory
- 2:07Speaker 1: like within a minute of me thinking those words to myself,
- 2:10Speaker 1: Category goes, all right, I'm tired of seeing you doing
- 2:14Speaker 1: this over and over. And I was just like, ah, okay,
- 2:17Speaker 1: we're both on the same page. And Kategory does this thing.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It's a for those who have not seen uh Austin
- 2:28Speaker 1: Powers International Man of Mystery, there is an amazing moment
- 2:34Speaker 1: where doctor Evil like sets this trap to kill Austin
- 2:39Speaker 1: Powers and he begins to leave the broom and his
- 2:43Speaker 1: son is like, you're not even gonna stay and watch
- 2:47Speaker 1: him die and he's like, no, I'm just going to
- 2:51Speaker 1: leave and assume everything went to plan what? And this
- 2:55Speaker 1: is very much giving that for me. Kategory is like, yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 1: you'll suffocate, it's inevitable. I have seen you consistently live
- 3:05Speaker 1: through shit that should have killed you. But I'm still
- 3:08Speaker 1: not real worried about it. So by and I was
- 3:12Speaker 1: just like, Category, come now he survives this. That's on you. Actually,
- 3:19Speaker 1: I won't even give loofy points. I will simply take
- 3:22Speaker 1: points away from you. That's how I'm going to be
- 3:23Speaker 1: doing that math. But I get ahead of myself as
- 3:28Speaker 1: I do. Let's talk about the green room. This is
- 3:30Speaker 1: so odd. So the way that this is structured is
- 3:38Speaker 1: sort of what's strange to me. We open with Loofy
- 3:46Speaker 1: trying to get through so to speak to Nami on
- 3:51Speaker 1: the Sonny attempting to explain to her that you need
- 3:55Speaker 1: to break all of the mirrors on board, and she
- 3:58Speaker 1: understandably is just it's like, bro, then how are you
- 4:02Speaker 1: supposed to get back with us? That's the whole way
- 4:05Speaker 1: that this was supposed to work. And he is a
- 4:08Speaker 1: very insistent like, no, seriously, you gotta And it turns
- 4:12Speaker 1: out that there is already a fire in one of
- 4:17Speaker 1: the rooms, so like what they have nearly succeeded in
- 4:23Speaker 1: their mission here to really fuck things up for everybody
- 4:26Speaker 1: on the ship. But eventually Nami begins to do as
- 4:32Speaker 1: Lufy says, but there is a little bit of like
- 4:34Speaker 1: argument back and forth. It's quite handy that despite the
- 4:40Speaker 1: fact he can't travel through the mirrors, it only takes
- 4:44Speaker 1: a little bit of mirror to be able to at
- 4:46Speaker 1: least talk to each other. I like that, and I
- 4:54Speaker 1: still am, like I've been trying to think about how
- 4:57Speaker 1: Lufy can possibly me up with them again after they've
- 5:01Speaker 1: gone so, because you know, I'm trying to think back,
- 5:06Speaker 1: and I'm sure that this has happened, But who was
- 5:11Speaker 1: with Loofy at Marine Ford? What I'm what I'm getting
- 5:16Speaker 1: at here is I don't remember many times where Loofy
- 5:22Speaker 1: was like completely separated from the entire rest of his crew,
- 5:29Speaker 1: except for like that two years where they were training
- 5:33Speaker 1: and I think Marine Ford and impelled down was but
- 5:40Speaker 1: he was with one other person, right, I don't remember,
- 5:46Speaker 1: Florian says JIMBEI was the only one and well Ivan, Okay,
- 5:53Speaker 1: so it wasn't any of the straw hats that was
- 5:56Speaker 1: completely just like only Loofy, you know, straws and then
- 6:02Speaker 1: impelled down? Was it just mister, No, it was fucking
- 6:05Speaker 1: a buggy, right, what a weird that was fun. It's
- 6:13Speaker 1: just like a kind of a rare thing. Loofy breaks
- 6:16Speaker 1: off on his own a lot for fights, but it's
- 6:20Speaker 1: not usual that he's like the only person in the
- 6:26Speaker 1: in the on the island. I guess, for lack of
- 6:29Speaker 1: a better way of saying it, you know, let's see,
- 6:32Speaker 1: he was alone for Amazon Lily impelled down Marine Ford
- 6:36Speaker 1: and then the time skip Amazon Lily. I forgot about
- 6:39Speaker 1: that one, okay, Yeah, so it's not like a super
- 6:44Speaker 1: frequent thing. It's happened before, but it's not often. And
- 6:47Speaker 1: like with Amazon Lily, I'm trying to remember exactly how
- 6:54Speaker 1: some of this went down. Didn't he get like thrown
- 6:58Speaker 1: by somebody? What happened? And how do you wind up
- 7:00Speaker 1: on Amazon Lily. I remember it being an accident because
- 7:04Speaker 1: he like lands in a tree. Right, how did that
- 7:07Speaker 1: all work? Impel down? It was simply like I feel
- 7:12Speaker 1: being separated from everybody. So they're still there with him,
- 7:18Speaker 1: but they're not in the same area, right, And then
- 7:25Speaker 1: Marine Ford he purposely breaks off on his own for
- 7:29Speaker 1: that one. If I'm not mistaken, Kuma flung all of
- 7:33Speaker 1: them away the Bible guy, that's right. I forgot that
- 7:36Speaker 1: he did that, And so everybody is separated for a
- 7:38Speaker 1: little while there. Yeah, I feel like I don't want
- 7:42Speaker 1: to count that one then, because everyone is separated from
- 7:45Speaker 1: each other. It's just you know, the whole crew being
- 7:49Speaker 1: on the ship and leaving and him not being on.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It just has like a really specific kind of energy
- 7:56Speaker 1: that feels like it's more of a crisis to me,
- 8:00Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Like it I just I
- 8:03Speaker 1: won't say that it makes me panic because it's not
- 8:06Speaker 1: exactly it, but it does have me worried because there
- 8:10Speaker 1: are plenty of times where I'm like, our friends are coming,
- 8:14Speaker 1: you know, they haven't reached him yet, they're on their way,
- 8:18Speaker 1: or everybody's trying to find each other or whatever. But
- 8:21Speaker 1: this is everybody fleeing and trying to get away as
- 8:27Speaker 1: fast as they can. So the fact that Lufy is
- 8:30Speaker 1: here alone and has smashed his way back and then
- 8:36Speaker 1: asks Nami to smash every other possible way back is
- 8:42Speaker 1: really leaving me going, what the fuck is he gonna do?
- 8:45Speaker 1: I don't know, Like I suppose you could try to
- 8:50Speaker 1: repair a mirror. You could attempt to buy a mirror somewhere.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Maybe that would work. Once you're sure they're not like
- 8:58Speaker 1: after you anymore. Maybe you could buy one and put
- 9:02Speaker 1: it on the ship and boom, now you're done. I
- 9:04Speaker 1: guess that's possible. Sorry, Florian says, you wanted to see
- 9:10Speaker 1: more of Nammy and Chopper and action, be careful what
- 9:13Speaker 1: you wish for, Touche touche, sir. So anyway, the whole
- 9:22Speaker 1: setup here is like, there's a moment, guys, and I
- 9:27Speaker 1: know I said that I was gonna like back up
- 9:28Speaker 1: and start at the beginning, and I basically did do that,
- 9:32Speaker 1: so I guess technically I checked that box off, So
- 9:34Speaker 1: don't yell at me. But there is a point later
- 9:36Speaker 1: where he's talking to Nami, and like I said last
- 9:40Speaker 1: time that he was getting his ass kicked, I had
- 9:43Speaker 1: no idea. It is way worse. In these three episodes,
- 9:49Speaker 1: bro is being fucking pulverized. It's difficult to watch. I'm
- 9:59Speaker 1: not gonna it's really There comes a point where he
- 10:05Speaker 1: begins dodging, and that's fun because Category is like, you know,
- 10:12Speaker 1: I gotta say, nobody has ever dodged me as consistently
- 10:16Speaker 1: as you have been, And frankly, it's infuriating. And I'm
- 10:20Speaker 1: getting worn out by this because Lufy says he's wearing
- 10:23Speaker 1: me out and Category is like same, and Luviy is
- 10:26Speaker 1: like startled by that. He doesn't expect Category to confess
- 10:30Speaker 1: anything like this. So like, there does eventually come a
- 10:36Speaker 1: point where he is managing to at least stay out
- 10:41Speaker 1: of the direct line of fire. But the first of
- 10:45Speaker 1: these episodes he is getting it's almost the equivalent of
- 10:52Speaker 1: held down and like pounded in the face with a jackhammer.
- 10:58Speaker 1: This dude is going so hard with like the gatling
- 11:03Speaker 1: gun style attack and Lufy is just helpless underneath this
- 11:10Speaker 1: dude's onslaught. I guess this is the way I want
- 11:14Speaker 1: to say it. And at one point Nami is trying
- 11:20Speaker 1: to talk to him because he's clung to this single
- 11:23Speaker 1: piece of mirror and is like, you've got this right,
- 11:28Speaker 1: Lufy loofy, and like he isn't able to answer her,
- 11:32Speaker 1: and she's starting to worry. And then just as she's going, hey, man,
- 11:38Speaker 1: are you then Category smashes that piece of mirror and
- 11:44Speaker 1: their connection with Lufy is gone. And it was a
- 11:48Speaker 1: really like sobering moment because at least there being the
- 11:54Speaker 1: connection between the two of them for that moment felt
- 11:57Speaker 1: like he has a friend. He's not alone, you know,
- 12:01Speaker 1: even though he is physically and now our friends are
- 12:07Speaker 1: on the ship completely like I'm sure of what's happening
- 12:13Speaker 1: with him, knowing that it was bad enough that he
- 12:16Speaker 1: literally like couldn't lift his head to talk back to us. Yikes,
- 12:22Speaker 1: that is very very worrying. So I well, we haven't
- 12:30Speaker 1: gotten there yet. With the straw hats on the ship, first,
- 12:35Speaker 1: we are watching Big Moms. She's walking on this like
- 12:40Speaker 1: pad of candy that has been made for her so
- 12:43Speaker 1: that she can essentially walk on water. There are cannonballs
- 12:49Speaker 1: firing from behind her. Of course, the cannonballs all have
- 12:53Speaker 1: like faces on them because they're alive. And now the
- 12:56Speaker 1: candy that she is standing on is also alive. I
- 12:59Speaker 1: want him in that. So it's a different vibe than
- 13:03Speaker 1: it was in the last section. And something begins to
- 13:10Speaker 1: happen here. This is so weird, guys. The cannonball's like
- 13:14Speaker 1: cackling on the way in truly is funny. Chopper does
- 13:20Speaker 1: guard point, and it doesn't make a lot of sense
- 13:23Speaker 1: that these all would have landed in the exact area
- 13:26Speaker 1: that Chopper occupies when the ship is this big. But
- 13:29Speaker 1: that's okay. We have Brooke leaping in the air and
- 13:34Speaker 1: slicing a bunch of them in half, and then there's
- 13:37Speaker 1: this moment where he starts screaming because one is coming
- 13:41Speaker 1: straight for his face, and it's always confusing when it's
- 13:44Speaker 1: this like cartoon logic. He has plenty of time to
- 13:47Speaker 1: slice that one in half to and he acts like
- 13:49Speaker 1: he doesn't, and the cannonball, like Brooks, starts screaming, and
- 13:54Speaker 1: the cannonball also starts screaming, which I was just like,
- 13:57Speaker 1: what isn't this your job? But yeah, so this thing
- 14:03Speaker 1: that Big Mom is walking on, this piece of candy
- 14:07Speaker 1: is like I said, it has a face on it.
- 14:12Speaker 1: And there comes a point where our friends look up
- 14:17Speaker 1: and there's just this huge title wave. It's sort of
- 14:23Speaker 1: out of nowhere. I'll be real. I rewound. I actually
- 14:27Speaker 1: rewound a couple times. I'm sorry about my dog, guys.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I oh my god, I'm so sorry. Floriene's in the
- 14:38Speaker 1: chat and says the canniball was scared because Brooke is
- 14:42Speaker 1: just a skull. Oh my god. That didn't even occur
- 14:46Speaker 1: to me. Okay, that's a pretty good joke. That's pretty funny.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I like that. I like that. I wish I got
- 14:53Speaker 1: that at the moment, I did not get it. But yeah,
- 14:59Speaker 1: this title wave, it's unclear to me how this comes
- 15:05Speaker 1: to be. I don't know if it's supposed to be
- 15:09Speaker 1: that simply the act of walking on the water and
- 15:13Speaker 1: all of the pressure of like the candy and Big
- 15:16Speaker 1: Mom's weight, if this is like, created the wave, but
- 15:21Speaker 1: there really wasn't anything leading up to it to indicate
- 15:25Speaker 1: that the wave was beginning to form that I saw.
- 15:30Speaker 1: It's just sort of it goes from the cannonball attacks
- 15:34Speaker 1: to Lufy telling Nami to break all the mirrors, and
- 15:37Speaker 1: they do that, and then they look up and it's
- 15:40Speaker 1: a huge tidal wave that is like so close. They
- 15:44Speaker 1: have all given up any hope that they're going to
- 15:47Speaker 1: be able to escape. It's just going to crush them.
- 15:51Speaker 1: There's no way around it, or is there. But yeah,
- 15:55Speaker 1: I feel like there's something missing in the storytelling here.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And I don't know if I missed it, but like
- 16:04Speaker 1: I said, I rewound, so I felt like, if I
- 16:09Speaker 1: missed it, it was further back then I think it
- 16:13Speaker 1: should be. I don't know. Florian says, yeah, it comes
- 16:18Speaker 1: kind of out of nowhere. Mom gave the water a
- 16:20Speaker 1: soul and thus can command it, but they don't show
- 16:24Speaker 1: that also not in the manga. I think, yeah, okay,
- 16:30Speaker 1: I see it's sort of because like the fact that
- 16:35Speaker 1: when they look up, the wave is like purplish, and
- 16:42Speaker 1: I thought that it was candy at first. I thought
- 16:47Speaker 1: that basically Big Mom turned the candy that she had
- 16:52Speaker 1: been walking on into a sort of wave that was
- 16:56Speaker 1: solid and made of candy, and like it wasn't there
- 16:59Speaker 1: was no war in it, that it was pure. It
- 17:02Speaker 1: was mimicking the behavior of water because of this guy's
- 17:06Speaker 1: control over it. But I did not think because of
- 17:10Speaker 1: its color that it was water. And maybe it's supposed
- 17:14Speaker 1: to be that the candy is like mixed in there.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I don't know. But there was just a lot about
- 17:20Speaker 1: how sudden it is and the color it is and
- 17:22Speaker 1: the way that it just came out that I found
- 17:25Speaker 1: really confusing and weird, and I think they could have
- 17:29Speaker 1: spent a little bit more time establishing what was going
- 17:33Speaker 1: on there, especially considering how this section does feel like
- 17:39Speaker 1: we're repeating things a lot, they're needing to like fill time.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I think that could have been a pretty solid time filler,
- 17:49Speaker 1: just showing us exactly how this wave was coming to
- 17:51Speaker 1: be and thus creating more attension and more dread with
- 17:56Speaker 1: it because you don't have time to even really to this.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It just appears, you know. Oh, Florian says, the color
- 18:07Speaker 1: is juice in this sea. Right. It's confusing because we
- 18:12Speaker 1: don't see that in the like in the water as
- 18:15Speaker 1: we're sailing. It's just in this wave. So the rest
- 18:19Speaker 1: of the water looks blue like, ah, I don't know,
- 18:23Speaker 1: it's fine. So anyway, what happens there's like it's it's
- 18:31Speaker 1: really strange the way that this is done to me
- 18:35Speaker 1: here as well. So everybody is looking up at this
- 18:39Speaker 1: wave and Nami just says something to Lufy like, I
- 18:43Speaker 1: think this might be it for us. She is like
- 18:45Speaker 1: this last scrap of mirror that she's looking through because
- 18:49Speaker 1: they are still in communication at this point. The whole
- 18:52Speaker 1: thing where they get cut off doesn't happen till later,
- 18:56Speaker 1: and everybody has tears in their eyes and they're all
- 18:59Speaker 1: thinks like this is it. And then we have off
- 19:05Speaker 1: to the side solely Jimbei, who is says if that
- 19:11Speaker 1: hits us, we're all dead. And then a few minutes
- 19:15Speaker 1: later says something like unless we go in the green
- 19:19Speaker 1: room something like that, and I was like, unless we
- 19:22Speaker 1: what now? And I should mention too that the guy
- 19:26Speaker 1: that's uh that Pero, who is on Mom's shoulder, he
- 19:31Speaker 1: is telling her you don't want to smash the ship.
- 19:34Speaker 1: They have your cake. If you do that, you smash
- 19:37Speaker 1: the cake too, which I was genuinely a little surprised
- 19:41Speaker 1: that he tries to keep her from doing this, I
- 19:46Speaker 1: guess because I was thinking like, oh, he'll be glad
- 19:49Speaker 1: that she's smashing the straw hats. But then I was like,
- 19:52Speaker 1: that makes sense, then she'll just stay in her hunger pangs.
- 19:55Speaker 1: But they don't actually have the cake, so I guess
- 20:00Speaker 1: if she doesn't have the straw hats to direct her
- 20:03Speaker 1: anger toward, then it will sort of just be chaos again.
- 20:07Speaker 1: And having them as the scapegoat is just very convenient
- 20:10Speaker 1: for keeping the pressure off of everybody else for right now. Sorry,
- 20:16Speaker 1: I'm just looking at the part now where JIMBEI like
- 20:18Speaker 1: closes his eyes. There's this long pause as the camera
- 20:22Speaker 1: sort of swings around him and it's not clear, Like
- 20:28Speaker 1: he just says, everyone listen and big mom, just I'm
- 20:35Speaker 1: ready for my cake. Now. I'm like, bitch, where do
- 20:37Speaker 1: you think this cake is at? All of these like
- 20:42Speaker 1: droplets of water come flying down, and just the drops
- 20:46Speaker 1: of water are so big that they are making the
- 20:50Speaker 1: sunny nearly tip over on their own. We see all
- 20:57Speaker 1: of the the the crewmates hard at work doing something
- 21:04Speaker 1: as Jim Bay says like, okay, yeah, that's good enough,
- 21:08Speaker 1: and Brooke is like, you're steering the ship and moving
- 21:11Speaker 1: the sails by hand? Are you serious? And he tells
- 21:16Speaker 1: Nami to let him know what the wind is doing
- 21:21Speaker 1: and then says, all right, and we see him pulling down.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Brooke almost falls off. He does fall off my bed,
- 21:31Speaker 1: and he says, I'm tacking straight into the wind. And
- 21:35Speaker 1: they're like, that means that we'll go straight into the wave,
- 21:38Speaker 1: doesn't it. And he says not if we can get
- 21:40Speaker 1: inside the green room. And he doesn't explain to them
- 21:46Speaker 1: what this is. There's no time, there's no time. But
- 21:50Speaker 1: then when we actually see them in there, what it
- 21:54Speaker 1: turns it's almost like doing like the eye of the storm,
- 21:57Speaker 1: the eye of the hurricane. You know, it's the center
- 22:01Speaker 1: of the tube that a giant wave makes. It's almost
- 22:07Speaker 1: like we're surfing but with a ship, because the wave
- 22:11Speaker 1: is that enormous. And he says something about how like
- 22:16Speaker 1: all of the fishmen, especially young ones, really really love
- 22:22Speaker 1: like playing around with the green room, because of course
- 22:26Speaker 1: they would. It's like a really cool phenomenon and it's
- 22:31Speaker 1: got to be very like thrilling, and there has to
- 22:33Speaker 1: be some skill involved there for like getting there. I
- 22:38Speaker 1: really liked this as an idea, and it's like, look,
- 22:43Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be an asshole, but it is
- 22:45Speaker 1: the first time that I've been like, oh, okay, Jimbay, I
- 22:48Speaker 1: see your value now because I really I want to
- 22:56Speaker 1: like Jimbay. I don't know that I have made that
- 23:01Speaker 1: clear because I have done nothing but complain about how
- 23:04Speaker 1: we didn't need him and he's boring. So and I
- 23:09Speaker 1: stand by all of that to be clear, I'm not
- 23:12Speaker 1: taking anything of that back. But he definitely has a
- 23:17Speaker 1: skill here that I didn't anticipate. And I think weirdly,
- 23:22Speaker 1: I thought that he wouldn't necessarily be like skilled with
- 23:28Speaker 1: a ship because he doesn't need a ship. He's a
- 23:31Speaker 1: fish man. So I think that I was sort of
- 23:35Speaker 1: assuming that a ship was like, you know, something that
- 23:40Speaker 1: would be it would be so unnecessary for him that
- 23:44Speaker 1: why would he bother? It would be like somebody who
- 23:51Speaker 1: is completely able bodied being an expert at building wheelchairs,
- 24:00Speaker 1: do you know what I mean? But fishmen are on
- 24:04Speaker 1: ships like kind of a lot. Actually, the more I
- 24:07Speaker 1: stop and think about it and using the sales and whatnot,
- 24:12Speaker 1: is sort of like Finns. I mean, some of the
- 24:14Speaker 1: principles are the same. It's just a really nice moment
- 24:22Speaker 1: of like Jim Bate has a very very specific skill
- 24:28Speaker 1: set that will be super helpful because like, let's be
- 24:34Speaker 1: extremely honest here when it comes to sailing. As much
- 24:39Speaker 1: as we haven't run into a lot of problems with
- 24:42Speaker 1: sailing specifically, nobody on our crew is like particularly a sailor.
- 24:50Speaker 1: You know it never I like when I stop and
- 24:55Speaker 1: think about anybody who is specialized in that the the
- 25:00Speaker 1: only one that really can work is Franky because he
- 25:04Speaker 1: is the mechanic. But it's that's not really the same thing.
- 25:08Speaker 1: So having Nami be the only person that was like
- 25:13Speaker 1: kind of the brains of the operation, all of the
- 25:16Speaker 1: pressure was on her all the time as the one
- 25:20Speaker 1: managing where they're going and how to determine where they're going.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I'm beginning to appreciate that the addition of Jimbei takes
- 25:30Speaker 1: a little bit of that pressure off her, and it
- 25:32Speaker 1: gives her a partner to rely on who is competent
- 25:37Speaker 1: and who can manage to fucking get serious a little
- 25:41Speaker 1: bit more often than a lot of our other crewmates.
- 25:45Speaker 1: So I lament his seriousness because I find it boring,
- 25:52Speaker 1: But in practice I have been frustrated in the past
- 25:56Speaker 1: by the fact that she's the only one that seems
- 25:58Speaker 1: to like, really have any connection to consequences in the
- 26:05Speaker 1: world around them. And maybe this is exactly what we needed.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Maybe Jimbay is like the adult force that was missing,
- 26:15Speaker 1: you know, and brings that. He brings that dad energy.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I've said before that Zoro brought the dad energy, but
- 26:22Speaker 1: he brings it the dad energy in terms of like
- 26:25Speaker 1: the dad that sucks, the dad that shows up, but
- 26:29Speaker 1: he's like tired and uninvolved and he just kind of
- 26:32Speaker 1: like if something fun is happening, he'll tune in, but
- 26:36Speaker 1: if not, he like goes back to napping on the couch.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Jimbay is the dad energy of like the dad we
- 26:41Speaker 1: want who's engaged and on top of things and watching
- 26:45Speaker 1: and just overall it feels like has the situation in hand.
- 26:53Speaker 1: So you know what. Okay, Okay, Jimbay. I think I'm
- 27:01Speaker 1: all right with you now. And I have one of
- 27:04Speaker 1: his little posters as a pin down there, and when
- 27:08Speaker 1: I opened it, I was all like, ough, come on really,
- 27:11Speaker 1: And now I'm like, maybe I'll maybe I'll grow to
- 27:14Speaker 1: like you. Sarahm says green room is an actual surfing
- 27:18Speaker 1: term for this, So yeah, okay, I didn't know that.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Florian says, people say Jimbay gives grandpa. Yeah, okay, I
- 27:27Speaker 1: see that he's not cranky enough. When I think Grandpa vibes.
- 27:30Speaker 1: I definitely think somebody who's like older and more crotchety,
- 27:36Speaker 1: But you know, I can dig it, I can see that.
- 27:40Speaker 1: So anyway, what happens here is interesting because the fact
- 27:46Speaker 1: that they go into this green room means that there's
- 27:51Speaker 1: a weird effect through the mirror that Lufy still has
- 27:54Speaker 1: where he's looking, and it seems like they're underwater. And
- 27:59Speaker 1: everybody sort of goes back and forth on this throughout
- 28:03Speaker 1: the next episodes, because there are plenty of folks who
- 28:08Speaker 1: are just assuming they went under that huge wave they
- 28:12Speaker 1: have to be dead, and then there are other people
- 28:15Speaker 1: who have like a more detailed look at things, and
- 28:19Speaker 1: they're using the clues therein to come up with a
- 28:23Speaker 1: different answer. So I'm so sorry. I just got to
- 28:27Speaker 1: the spot where Chopper looks up in like once they
- 28:30Speaker 1: enter the green room and he says, are we in heaven?
- 28:33Speaker 1: It's beautiful? But yeah, Jimbay is saying that this is
- 28:39Speaker 1: a damn fine ship, so evidently being able to manage
- 28:45Speaker 1: it inside of the wave is really like, this is
- 28:52Speaker 1: a testament to how well the ship is constructed. Okay, look, Florian,
- 29:01Speaker 1: I'm not trying to argue with you the color of
- 29:06Speaker 1: the sea is from the juice. Okay, but then this
- 29:10Speaker 1: shouldn't be the green Room, should it. This should be
- 29:12Speaker 1: pink or purple. I even take like an orange, like
- 29:17Speaker 1: a dark orange. But we saw this wave and it's purple,
- 29:23Speaker 1: and then once they're in it, all of a sudden,
- 29:26Speaker 1: now it's blue green. No no, no, no, no, I
- 29:31Speaker 1: don't think so show you got to pick one. They
- 29:35Speaker 1: want to do the green Room because that's like the name,
- 29:38Speaker 1: and so they want to do that, but then they
- 29:40Speaker 1: also want to have the wave be purple. Hmm, okay,
- 29:44Speaker 1: sure it does not matter, like I said, And frankly,
- 29:51Speaker 1: it looks cool with it being green like this overlay
- 29:54Speaker 1: that they have on the animation. But I just don't
- 29:58Speaker 1: think that they needed to make that wave purple at all,
- 30:00Speaker 1: because that confused the whole issue on a number of
- 30:03Speaker 1: different levels. There was just no reason. So the uh loofy,
- 30:11Speaker 1: like first, Perro, who is on Mom's shoulder, is like,
- 30:16Speaker 1: all right, if they went into that, they are definitely dead.
- 30:20Speaker 1: They are taking care of don't have to worry about
- 30:23Speaker 1: them anymore, and he is sort of feeling himself. He
- 30:27Speaker 1: thinks I managed to get rid of them and isn't
- 30:33Speaker 1: at this point worrying about what it means that Mom
- 30:36Speaker 1: still wants her cake. Loofy is seeing into the uh
- 30:41Speaker 1: the glass and is like, hey, guys, answer me, but
- 30:45Speaker 1: there's nothing happening here, and Bruley says, well, shoot, guess
- 30:51Speaker 1: we're not invading after all since the ship sank. But
- 30:56Speaker 1: the long Necks have a different mirror and they're like,
- 31:00Speaker 1: I don't know about that. We're looking at a different
- 31:05Speaker 1: spot and it doesn't look like the ship is underwater
- 31:08Speaker 1: at all, and Brulay is like, oh, okay, well, I
- 31:13Speaker 1: guess shoot one more round into there, just to be safe.
- 31:17Speaker 1: And just as she says that, Nami is taking care
- 31:21Speaker 1: of that mirror and breaks it, and I do love
- 31:23Speaker 1: Brulay going, ugh, why does this have to be so complicated? Ah?
- 31:33Speaker 1: I did think that was funny. I have a question
- 31:39Speaker 1: NAMMY's climate tack thing the cloud ate the end off.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Does that mean that it no longer does the thing
- 31:50Speaker 1: that it's supposed to do or is that something that
- 31:55Speaker 1: can be fixed by her? How does that work? I
- 32:00Speaker 1: saw it at the time as something that was like
- 32:02Speaker 1: a temporary problem, but it looks like maybe it's something
- 32:09Speaker 1: that is going to be an issue is more ongoing.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I don't know, So let's see. Uh oh right, this
- 32:20Speaker 1: is when because Chopper is still with Brulet and everybody,
- 32:25Speaker 1: they're being very like, what's the word, I want? Permissive
- 32:30Speaker 1: with him. They're really letting him chit chat with his
- 32:35Speaker 1: friends and you know, like have a bit of a
- 32:39Speaker 1: breather where he's not getting beat up on. It's surprising.
- 32:43Speaker 1: He gets up and runs away and they're just like, hey,
- 32:47Speaker 1: somebody stop him, and Lufy is talking to Chopper through
- 32:53Speaker 1: the mirror as he's running. Chopper is explaining, Jimbay bailed
- 32:58Speaker 1: us out. I wish you could have seen it. And
- 33:02Speaker 1: what we find out later is because of how things
- 33:08Speaker 1: work with Brulai and her ability, she is actually like
- 33:13Speaker 1: hearing everything they're talking about. So there comes a point
- 33:16Speaker 1: where Lufy makes a plan with Nami about where they're
- 33:21Speaker 1: going to meet up. I think it's Cacao Island, and
- 33:28Speaker 1: they think this is going to be a secret rendezvous
- 33:33Speaker 1: because they don't realize that Brulee is overhearing everything. So
- 33:38Speaker 1: somebody is definitely aware that the ship hasn't sunk and
- 33:41Speaker 1: what all the plan is and everything. So let's see
- 33:48Speaker 1: trying to hear. Yeah, this is the point because Lufi is,
- 33:51Speaker 1: like I said, running this whole time as they're making
- 33:54Speaker 1: this plan, and then all of a sudden, here comes
- 33:58Speaker 1: the mochi and we get a fresh back to a
- 34:03Speaker 1: moment with I swear to god, you guys, I almost
- 34:08Speaker 1: said dual lingo just now, Oh my god, Do Flamingo.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I almost said dual lingo. Oh boy, somebody please illustrate
- 34:22Speaker 1: the dual lingo owl with Doe Flamingo's sunglasses on it.
- 34:27Speaker 1: That's got to already be out there, right. Somebody did that.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Definitely somebody did that. So oh Seraphim says he didn't
- 34:39Speaker 1: eat the end. He just grabbed on and sucked the
- 34:41Speaker 1: clouds out like a straw. Oh, Florian says, it was
- 34:48Speaker 1: more like a lollipop. So but if you eat a lollipop,
- 34:53Speaker 1: it's gone. So will it get the clouds back? Can
- 34:59Speaker 1: it make clouds itself? How long does that take? I
- 35:06Speaker 1: don't really understand her weapon very well, to be honest anyway.
- 35:13Speaker 1: But so this flashback to Do Flamingo is when he
- 35:22Speaker 1: talks about how his devil fruit power. I think the
- 35:27Speaker 1: term that he uses is awakened something like that, And
- 35:35Speaker 1: essentially what he can do is turn things into strings.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Like if he concentrates and dials things up a notch,
- 35:49Speaker 1: he can like essentially change the matter around him. And
- 35:58Speaker 1: I had totally forgotten about this. So category is making
- 36:06Speaker 1: the floor into mochi and I. You know, we've never
- 36:12Speaker 1: seen Lufy be able to make floors into rubber. He
- 36:18Speaker 1: has not reached this level. I cannot help but think
- 36:22Speaker 1: about the implications though. If he were able to make
- 36:26Speaker 1: the floor into rubber, how useful could that potentially be.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It depends what kind of fine control you have as well,
- 36:36Speaker 1: because if you make it into rubber in a certain way,
- 36:40Speaker 1: it could be advantageous to your enemy as well. But
- 36:46Speaker 1: if you have enough control over it that you just
- 36:48Speaker 1: make the floor under yourself rubber so that you have
- 36:51Speaker 1: like a lot of extra height when you jump, maybe
- 36:56Speaker 1: that would be a real like game changer. You know.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I don't know how you reach this point. I don't like.
- 37:05Speaker 1: My assumption is that it has something to do with
- 37:09Speaker 1: hockey and like managing to combine your hockey into your
- 37:13Speaker 1: devil fruit power, But I don't really know that that's anything,
- 37:20Speaker 1: but yeah, suffice to say, this is the start of
- 37:25Speaker 1: Lufy getting absolutely smashed. He gets grabbed by the mochi
- 37:32Speaker 1: dragged to the ground. This is when Nami is yelling, hey,
- 37:35Speaker 1: did you hear the plan? Do you did? You? You know?
- 37:39Speaker 1: Did you get it? Get this? Lufy is trying to
- 37:42Speaker 1: struggle up. Kategory is coming at him with all of
- 37:46Speaker 1: the speed of frozen molasses, and this is when she says,
- 37:51Speaker 1: you got this right, And then the mirror shard smashes
- 37:56Speaker 1: and we see Kategori has kicked Loofy and it is you, guys.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Loofy makes a sort of trumpet out of his mouth
- 38:11Speaker 1: and blows so that he in mid air flies away
- 38:16Speaker 1: from Kategory. That's what that is, right. I don't know
- 38:20Speaker 1: that we've ever seen this before. It's really weird, but yeah, anyway,
- 38:28Speaker 1: you know, they're still on the sunny like, is he okay?
- 38:31Speaker 1: Can you hear anything? And Loofy can hear Brooke's voice,
- 38:36Speaker 1: so he is still trying to find a different piece
- 38:39Speaker 1: of mirror. Category jumps up into the air and he
- 38:46Speaker 1: smashes down on Loofy with his foot and it's like
- 38:51Speaker 1: one of the giant feet with hockey that's like big
- 38:56Speaker 1: and weirdly rounded because he's using that other ability it's
- 39:00Speaker 1: a lot. And I there's a point in the last
- 39:08Speaker 1: group of episodes that I had meant to mention and
- 39:11Speaker 1: I forgot that. I actually did think, you know, the
- 39:15Speaker 1: thing about a lot of the baddies in one Piece
- 39:20Speaker 1: is that their speeches, their little monologues, can be really interchangeable.
- 39:27Speaker 1: A lot of them don't have a lot of personality,
- 39:31Speaker 1: or that that personality isn't really that distinctive. When you
- 39:34Speaker 1: step back and look at all of the other villains,
- 39:37Speaker 1: it will be like really similar. And I this was
- 39:45Speaker 1: a line that I actually found like to be a
- 39:47Speaker 1: little bit intimidating. And it's category just saying there is
- 39:52Speaker 1: no victory in your future because his ability. This is
- 39:58Speaker 1: not a metaphor. This is not him stunting on loofy.
- 40:01Speaker 1: This is him looking into the future and being like, bro,
- 40:06Speaker 1: this doesn't work out for you though. And there was
- 40:09Speaker 1: something about that that I found genuinely like, show I
- 40:15Speaker 1: don't like that at all. It just seemed very matter
- 40:18Speaker 1: of fact. It wasn't him trying to boast or intimidate
- 40:22Speaker 1: or anything like that. It was him just stating like
- 40:27Speaker 1: this is going one way and that's it, you know,
- 40:31Speaker 1: So anyway, this is the point where he is like
- 40:39Speaker 1: jackhammering with his feet into Loofy's back and we can
- 40:44Speaker 1: hear everybody from the sunny being like, Loofy, you've gone
- 40:47Speaker 1: really quiet? Is everything okay? And there's blood pouring out
- 40:52Speaker 1: of his mouth. The camera pulls back and we see
- 40:56Speaker 1: another one of categories feet raising up and it smashes
- 41:01Speaker 1: Loofy so deeply that there's like a crater around him,
- 41:06Speaker 1: and he is he's passed out here in a way
- 41:11Speaker 1: that's like I kind of thought maybe it's gonna be
- 41:14Speaker 1: a minute before he can get up. He gets up
- 41:17Speaker 1: pretty quick here, but it's bad, and he's got a
- 41:21Speaker 1: few teeny little bits of mirror underneath him. And then
- 41:27Speaker 1: he just starts laughing, and I'm like what, And he says,
- 41:32Speaker 1: get to that island as fast as you can. I'll
- 41:36Speaker 1: wrap this up in no time. And all of the
- 41:40Speaker 1: straw hats are like all right, cool, yay, and he says, okay,
- 41:45Speaker 1: see you soon. That was just faking it, right, that's
- 41:53Speaker 1: him hearing that his friends are worried and just being like,
- 41:55Speaker 1: I've got to keep appearances up right. The laugh was
- 41:59Speaker 1: we And that's why I say that he has like
- 42:03Speaker 1: a uh the animation is interesting. Every now and then,
- 42:07Speaker 1: when somebody is being really foolish, their noses will be
- 42:12Speaker 1: animated as like wider and more detailed than they normally are,
- 42:18Speaker 1: and it's sometimes meant to indicate that they're drunk or
- 42:24Speaker 1: horny whatever. And so I was interpreting the weird uh
- 42:29Speaker 1: nose thing as him pretending to be cheerful for them.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Is that what you guys also think? Florian says, yes,
- 42:39Speaker 1: keep it, trying to keep a joyful face for them. Okay, cool.
- 42:44Speaker 1: So he turns around category pulls out this weapon, this
- 42:50Speaker 1: thing we need to talk about this. So it looks
- 42:55Speaker 1: like a spear, but it has three points. It's got
- 42:59Speaker 1: like a diamond in the center, and then it's sort
- 43:01Speaker 1: of like another diamond that's been sliced down the middle
- 43:05Speaker 1: and split to be to go on either side of
- 43:09Speaker 1: the center. Diamond. Almost trident looking, but like, in my opinion,
- 43:18Speaker 1: much scarier looking than a trident. There's something about it
- 43:21Speaker 1: that just gives that it's sharp in a way that
- 43:24Speaker 1: a trident looks much more like a brute force kind
- 43:28Speaker 1: of instrument. This thing looks like razors, you know what
- 43:31Speaker 1: I'm saying. Now, this is the mole. What is up
- 43:43Speaker 1: with this name? Guys? What is this? Why is it
- 43:48Speaker 1: called that? I'm real curious about this because like that's
- 43:56Speaker 1: that's not an intimidating name at all. Uh, Florian says,
- 44:03Speaker 1: I think in German the weapon is called the prezl.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Is that is is prezzle like a separate word or
- 44:12Speaker 1: is that just a typo and its pretzel? Seraphim says, no,
- 44:17Speaker 1: you're thinking of one of Cracker's weapons. Oh okay, I
- 44:23Speaker 1: just don't understand its name because like it's just of course,
- 44:30Speaker 1: first thing I think of is like a mole on
- 44:32Speaker 1: your face, you know, like a skin marking, And then
- 44:37Speaker 1: I think of the animal, which is a notoriously weak
- 44:43Speaker 1: and often blind rodent, which is also not intimidating. So
- 44:51Speaker 1: the mole being the name of this really intimidating looking
- 44:54Speaker 1: weapon is range. It just doesn't work. I feel like
- 45:00Speaker 1: there's gotta be something that we could have done with
- 45:04Speaker 1: the translation to make this not be called that. But
- 45:11Speaker 1: Seraphim says, this is called mogara, which is just Japanese
- 45:15Speaker 1: for mole, the animal. The implication is meant to be
- 45:20Speaker 1: he is it's good at drilling holes in people? I
- 45:30Speaker 1: guess I don't know, man, When you first think of
- 45:35Speaker 1: a mole, I'm thinking about like digging holes. Sure, but
- 45:39Speaker 1: that's not really the same as drilling holes. Like if
- 45:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna do drilling, I would do like a woodpecker
- 45:48Speaker 1: or termite carpentrant. I don't know. I feel like there's
- 45:53Speaker 1: got to be other things that are better for this,
- 45:56Speaker 1: or you could, you know, just call it the drill,
- 45:59Speaker 1: which wouldn't be that intimidating either, but it's certainly light
- 46:03Speaker 1: years better than the mole. I don't know, man, I
- 46:07Speaker 1: think this is there are some names in this show
- 46:10Speaker 1: that will strike me as really not great, and then
- 46:13Speaker 1: they grow on me over time and I start to
- 46:15Speaker 1: be like, actually, okay, that's fine, but this is one
- 46:19Speaker 1: where I feel like it's just genuinely was a bad pick.
- 46:22Speaker 1: This is not I don't anticipate I'm going to grow
- 46:26Speaker 1: to like the name of this thing anymore than I do.
- 46:30Speaker 1: But anyway, we will get to what's going on with
- 46:32Speaker 1: that in a moment. First we go over to Mont
- 46:36Speaker 1: d'Or and the Eggman, who is now the Chicken Man.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Now Mont d'Or is drawing a little picture of Big
- 46:48Speaker 1: Mom on the back of this like candy thing. It's
- 46:52Speaker 1: actually it's weirdly cute that he is just rooting for
- 46:56Speaker 1: her so hard that even in his like downtime, he's like, hey,
- 47:00Speaker 1: look I made a little big mom. You know, there's
- 47:03Speaker 1: something about this my husband's rewatching succession, and there is
- 47:07Speaker 1: something about this that's like kind of giving the way
- 47:10Speaker 1: that the kids worship their dad in that even though
- 47:13Speaker 1: he's just a monster. Florian says, remember Tequila Wolf excellent
- 47:20Speaker 1: A great name for a place. Yeah, that was a
- 47:23Speaker 1: good one. Impelled down. I remember thinking like what, and
- 47:27Speaker 1: you know, I really did get to a point where
- 47:29Speaker 1: I was like, no, that's cool. Seraphim says, it's a
- 47:32Speaker 1: Japanese thing. See also the Pokemon Exca drill or the
- 47:36Speaker 1: Mulgara mech from Godzilla. They just have an association between
- 47:40Speaker 1: moles and drilling. Yeah, I suppose I understand also wanting
- 47:51Speaker 1: to keep things as accurate as possible. So with the translation,
- 47:55Speaker 1: they said mole because they meant mole in Japanese. That's
- 47:58Speaker 1: what they meant, and so we're gonna say what they meant.
- 48:01Speaker 1: But there is a part of me that's like, we
- 48:03Speaker 1: really should have judged it up a little bit. I
- 48:05Speaker 1: don't know, but anyway, egg Man, rooster Man is, Uh.
- 48:15Speaker 1: There's a conversation between him and montdor that is actually
- 48:21Speaker 1: kind of interesting because Montdor is fully like, we will
- 48:30Speaker 1: deal with the straw Hats, no problem, and rooster Man
- 48:34Speaker 1: is like, look, I don't want to like discount what
- 48:39Speaker 1: you're saying. I don't want to discourage you, and I
- 48:42Speaker 1: don't want to give them like the respect of saying
- 48:48Speaker 1: that they're really someone we need to worry about. But
- 48:52Speaker 1: I will point out so many people have underestimate straw
- 49:00Speaker 1: Hat and they have come out on top every time,
- 49:05Speaker 1: and I just think there's a lesson in that. And
- 49:09Speaker 1: montdor is like, what do you mean, And he's like, well,
- 49:14Speaker 1: they got on their ship, they're fucking gone, and look
- 49:17Speaker 1: what they did at the wedding and montd Door's like
- 49:21Speaker 1: that was all an accident, and he's like was it.
- 49:27Speaker 1: I'm just saying, man, something about this is really looking
- 49:31Speaker 1: actually a little impressive, and maybe we shouldn't be like
- 49:35Speaker 1: hand waving them, That's all I'm saying. And I really
- 49:39Speaker 1: really liked this conversation because you guys know how frequently
- 49:45Speaker 1: I feel like everybody just immediately is not worried about
- 49:51Speaker 1: beating Lofy, even though he has this reputation that precedes him.
- 49:57Speaker 1: It's like they are all impressed with that reputation for
- 50:00Speaker 1: or a split second and then immediately discard it and go,
- 50:04Speaker 1: but I'll beat him, which sometimes that rings us true,
- 50:08Speaker 1: and sometimes I'm just like, hold on, what? So I
- 50:11Speaker 1: really did like this argument between the two of them
- 50:14Speaker 1: where one of them is sort of like, you know, ah,
- 50:19Speaker 1: there may be something to this kid, actually to these
- 50:23Speaker 1: guys in general, So I'm so sorry. Florine in the
- 50:30Speaker 1: chat says, well, they meet him and then they discard it,
- 50:34Speaker 1: which might be fair. You do have a point, Florian.
- 50:38Speaker 1: You meet somebody like Loofy and then immediately go, Okay,
- 50:42Speaker 1: that reputation was not earned. Obviously something something went real
- 50:47Speaker 1: wrong somewhere. But I will say, though, when he when
- 50:52Speaker 1: this has happened as consistently as it seems to have
- 50:55Speaker 1: done with him, it is time to start like looking
- 50:58Speaker 1: at facts, everybody, please. And we have then a departure
- 51:06Speaker 1: for a bit where we go to the German Kingdom
- 51:10Speaker 1: and we get to see how that battle is going.
- 51:14Speaker 1: And this bro who's been shooting fireballs out of his
- 51:18Speaker 1: like weird sleeves. This dude is so bizarre. He looks
- 51:23Speaker 1: like the heat miser. I feel like I said that before,
- 51:26Speaker 1: But he pulls down the sort of cowl neck and
- 51:32Speaker 1: breathes out fire in this huge plume, and for a second,
- 51:39Speaker 1: dude he's fighting looks like kind of flipped out. But
- 51:42Speaker 1: this does not last long. There's a whole thing later on,
- 51:46Speaker 1: and I'm running out of time here, so I'm going
- 51:48Speaker 1: to speed through some of this. But I feel like
- 51:49Speaker 1: I really talked about the most important things pretty thoroughly
- 51:52Speaker 1: so far. But there comes a point in the third
- 51:59Speaker 1: episode of the three where that weird giant guy shows
- 52:05Speaker 1: up and his voice is crazy, but he is also
- 52:10Speaker 1: fighting the German Kingdom guys, and it's really feeling like
- 52:14Speaker 1: he's taking his victory too much for granted. And it
- 52:23Speaker 1: cuts to mont Door getting a call on a transponder
- 52:29Speaker 1: snail and the voice sounds like this guy. But I
- 52:33Speaker 1: was like, there's no way. I just immediately thought to myself,
- 52:38Speaker 1: all right, one of Sanji's brothers is really good at
- 52:40Speaker 1: imitating voices. I'm not buying it. There's just no way.
- 52:44Speaker 1: I do not see it. And indeed it takes a minute,
- 52:48Speaker 1: but the camera goes back to the German Kingdom and
- 52:53Speaker 1: pans around and it's them standing on the corpses of
- 52:57Speaker 1: all of their enemies and and laughing as they tell
- 53:04Speaker 1: montdor oh, it's all taken care of and we totally
- 53:08Speaker 1: took down the German Kingdom. No problem, It's fine, and
- 53:13Speaker 1: I am really They end it with like talking about
- 53:18Speaker 1: what's going on with Lufy and his friends, and this
- 53:21Speaker 1: dude being like, well, it's kind of a mess. Here's
- 53:23Speaker 1: what's going on, and the brother says something like I
- 53:28Speaker 1: leave that in your capable hands, and he's like, thanks,
- 53:33Speaker 1: all right, we'll talk to you later. And I was
- 53:35Speaker 1: just like, oh, this is so hard to watch. He's
- 53:38Speaker 1: like getting encouragement from the enemy who just lied about
- 53:41Speaker 1: the fact that they won, and is telling them all
- 53:46Speaker 1: about how fucked up they've been so far with letting
- 53:49Speaker 1: Lufy and friends get away, Like that is just so
- 53:53Speaker 1: embarrassing on such a variety of levels. So anyway, German
- 54:01Speaker 1: Kingdom is pleased to hear that Lufy got away, and
- 54:06Speaker 1: we then cut there's a beget is back in the
- 54:10Speaker 1: mix over here, and he is fighting with Custard, who
- 54:16Speaker 1: is firing cannonballs at them. It's look, everybody's working with cannonballs.
- 54:23Speaker 1: It doesn't seem like the cannonballs being sentient makes them
- 54:27Speaker 1: better because they still miss completely. But I will say
- 54:34Speaker 1: that it's a lot less bizaz when you are shooting
- 54:37Speaker 1: cannonballs back and they don't have faces that cackle. I
- 54:41Speaker 1: just feel like it's a bit of a downgrade, you know.
- 54:46Speaker 1: So anyway, there's all this smoke and Custard like there's
- 54:52Speaker 1: something that happens that damages one of their ships, and
- 54:55Speaker 1: Bejie's like, all right, let's get out of here while
- 54:58Speaker 1: they're distracted, and it's like two seconds, but when the
- 55:03Speaker 1: camera lifts up again, the ship is like a mile out.
- 55:07Speaker 1: It is really fast. They get away like it's crazy.
- 55:13Speaker 1: So yeah, Custard is like, they won't be able to
- 55:16Speaker 1: run away from us. I don't know, Coustard, it kind
- 55:19Speaker 1: of looks like they did. It kind of looks like
- 55:22Speaker 1: they managed to fully run away from you and that
- 55:24Speaker 1: that's that. But you know, what do I know? And then,
- 55:30Speaker 1: like I said, the final moment of the third episode
- 55:34Speaker 1: happens with uh Loofy wrapped up in mochi and category
- 55:42Speaker 1: saying listen up. From now on, I won't underestimate you.
- 55:48Speaker 1: He's kind of coming to the same conclusion that rooster
- 55:51Speaker 1: Man did. And he lifts a hand and makes a
- 55:55Speaker 1: fist and the walls of the mirror War begin to
- 56:01Speaker 1: come down, and he says mirror mochi, and Lufy's like,
- 56:07Speaker 1: ah crap. When he says ah crap, he says, if
- 56:14Speaker 1: these land on me, I'll that'll kill me, and Category
- 56:19Speaker 1: just says, yeah, it'll suffocate you, and Lufy's just like,
- 56:23Speaker 1: and I don't know. There was just something about how
- 56:27Speaker 1: conversational Kategory is about it, and how Lufy's like aware
- 56:32Speaker 1: that it'll kill him, but it being said in so
- 56:36Speaker 1: many words is still like shocking to him. I don't
- 56:39Speaker 1: know why. I just found this kind of funny. So yeah,
- 56:44Speaker 1: he says, I'm afraid there's no escape from my mochi
- 56:48Speaker 1: and all of these there's three like huge chunks of
- 56:54Speaker 1: mochi that come down, and he says the finishing touch
- 56:58Speaker 1: and he rolls his fingers like this, like when you're
- 57:01Speaker 1: making a ball out of a tiny little piece of
- 57:04Speaker 1: clay or something and turns it into a cherry and
- 57:08Speaker 1: drops it on top I swear, and he says, sorry
- 57:13Speaker 1: to kill you in such an indignified manner. But I
- 57:17Speaker 1: was getting a bit impatient. You gave me so much
- 57:21Speaker 1: trouble and I'm forty minutes late for my afternoon snack.
- 57:29Speaker 1: I am so sorry, but that is hilarious. I think
- 57:34Speaker 1: it's funny because it's Katekori and that's just not you know,
- 57:38Speaker 1: like if this were the Rooster Man, him being like,
- 57:43Speaker 1: I'm forty minutes late for my cup of tea, you know,
- 57:46Speaker 1: but Kategory being like, I want my snack and I
- 57:51Speaker 1: want it now. Actually I want it forty minutes ago.
- 57:54Speaker 1: But what can you do. It's just not what I
- 57:58Speaker 1: was thinking was going to be a per personality trait
- 58:00Speaker 1: of his, and I really enjoy it. I think it's funny.
- 58:03Speaker 1: I like it so uh yeah. He just says, you're suffering,
- 58:08Speaker 1: will be over soon. This is goodbye, straw Hat, and
- 58:12Speaker 1: he walks away as one of Lufy's hands like reaches
- 58:17Speaker 1: out from underneath, and it looks like Lufy is stuck
- 58:23Speaker 1: under the mochi. But then when the camera pulls back,
- 58:28Speaker 1: it's just his arm that's under it, and we see
- 58:31Speaker 1: Lufy's head out of the mochi. It appears he's faking
- 58:39Speaker 1: that he has been killed, I guess, or the trapped
- 58:42Speaker 1: at least. I'm not sure if it's if I'm supposed
- 58:46Speaker 1: to still think he's in danger even seeing the top
- 58:48Speaker 1: of his head like that, or if that is supposed
- 58:50Speaker 1: to be like, don't worry, guys, he's fine. But I
- 58:55Speaker 1: took it as that the second one. But yeah, it's
- 59:01Speaker 1: sort of surprising because like the second one feels less
- 59:05Speaker 1: likely in terms of personality. I wouldn't think Loofy would
- 59:08Speaker 1: be like, let me fake being trapped, trick him. Loofy
- 59:12Speaker 1: doesn't really do stuff like that, you know, so, But
- 59:16Speaker 1: I don't see how I'm supposed to believe he's going
- 59:19Speaker 1: to suffocate when it looks like his whole head is
- 59:24Speaker 1: exposed and free and so he won't suffocate. I don't know.
- 59:27Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe it's just the angle of the
- 59:29Speaker 1: animation and it's supposed to look like just the very
- 59:31Speaker 1: top of his head, But even so that is so
- 59:37Speaker 1: close to him being completely free that it still makes
- 59:42Speaker 1: me immediately not worried about it. So I don't know.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I don't know, but I still enjoyed how this all
- 59:51Speaker 1: went down, Like, just as I started to get bored,
- 59:56Speaker 1: CATEGORY also got bored and so I didn't. It didn't
- 59:59Speaker 1: slid into that place where I was like really going,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: oh my god, now because Lufy is okay, it may
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: be that next episode it picks right up where it
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: left off, and I'm going to be like, Okay, now
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I am officially bored, but I'm going to withhold judgment
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: and see we'll just have to see. All right, everybody, Well,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I'm going to wrap this up. Thank you guys again
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: so much for commissioning the episode, for hanging out with
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: me et cetera. And I appreciate you all in the
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: chat giving me info. I really do. It's very helpful.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: So all right, until next time, do tolu, motherfuckers. That
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: was an Unspoiled Network podcast
