- 0:00Speaker 1: And now, Mark Simone on 710WOR. Thank you, Shadow Stevens.
- 0:04Speaker 1: We'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 0:06Speaker 2: 800-321-0710.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave, how are you doing?
- 0:09Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark. I'm doing very well, thank you.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Mark, I was highly impressed with Caroline Leavitt on the
- 0:25Speaker 2: Sean Hannity podcast. I mean, she's just incredibly amazing. Some
- 0:31Speaker 2: of her recollections of being in the Situation Room, meetings
- 0:35Speaker 2: with world leaders. Mark, my question is, is it possible
- 0:39Speaker 2: that a little further down the road as she raises
- 0:41Speaker 2: her two kids, that Fox News would offer her her
- 0:45Speaker 2: own show?
- 0:46Speaker 1: They already have. She has a standing offer. So far
- 0:50Speaker 1: she's said no, she doesn't want to go back to
- 0:52Speaker 1: full-time work, but they've already made the offer. She has
- 0:56Speaker 1: a standing offer to do a show at Fox. A
- 0:58Speaker 1: lot of former White House press secretaries have shows at Fox.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Dana Perino, Kayleigh McEnany. She will be one of them.
- 1:06Speaker 1: But when she's ready, when her kids are a little older.
- 1:10Speaker 1: She will go back to work. Good question, Dave. Let's
- 1:13Speaker 1: go to Kelly in Brooklyn. Kelly, how are you doing?
- 1:17Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:17Speaker 3: How are you, Mark?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Let me check.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I have a comment to make.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Not bad.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:23Speaker 3: You've been saying about the kind of like a rebate
- 1:26Speaker 3: check that she's going to send out to Hochul.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Everywhere else I heard it was $ 200. I called Hochul's office.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure they were thrilled.
- 1:37Speaker 3: No, it's too bad. So you called.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Up the local's office and you said, hello, and they went, oh,
- 1:43Speaker 1: my God.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Not at all. No, I am not from Long Island.
- 1:46Speaker 1: No, I am.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I am from Dyka Heights, Brooklyn. All right.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:51Speaker 3: So it's $ 100 if you file your state income tax single.
- 1:57Speaker 3: And $ 200 if you file as a married couple. And
- 2:02Speaker 3: then I also asked, I said, oh, is this also
- 2:04Speaker 3: taxable like the last.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Time she did? Well, first of all, tell them you're trans,
- 2:07Speaker 1: then it's $ 500.
- 2:09Speaker 3: So that's what it is. And you will be federally
- 2:13Speaker 3: taxed on it. So it's a scam. And I also said,
- 2:16Speaker 3: why doesn't she do more debates on 2457? And there
- 2:20Speaker 3: was no answer to that. So I just want you
- 2:23Speaker 3: to know that's all these checks are. And it's our
- 2:26Speaker 3: tax money that we're going to be taxed on again.
- 2:28Speaker 1: You know, I always wonder what makes people call the
- 2:32Speaker 1: senator's office or Kathy Hochul's office. It's like some junior
- 2:35Speaker 1: staff intern you got on the phone. He doesn't have
- 2:37Speaker 1: anything to do with anything. What do you think you'll
- 2:39Speaker 1: accomplish with that call?
- 2:40Speaker 3: Well, this one was the Albany office.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Yeah. And she's not even in the Albany office. She
- 2:45Speaker 1: works on third Avenue, 41st and third is where her
- 2:48Speaker 1: real office is.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Okay. So should I be frustrated? I contact all of
- 2:53Speaker 3: my politicians. That's my legal right to do that and
- 2:56Speaker 3: to let them know that.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I know. I'm just saying when you call the offices,
- 3:01Speaker 1: what they do, they have a huge staff. And if
- 3:03Speaker 1: you're the lowest on the totem pole, the brand new
- 3:05Speaker 1: junior intern, that's your job taking these calls.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:09Speaker 1: All you're talking to is them. It never goes anywhere.
- 3:12Speaker 3: But I did get the correct information.
- 3:14Speaker 1: All right. Well, that's good.
- 3:15Speaker 3: So there you go.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Thanks for calling.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 1: If you call a Schumer's office, you're going to get
- 3:20Speaker 1: the most junior staffer and you're going to tell them
- 3:23Speaker 1: what you think. I'm just telling you, he doesn't run
- 3:28Speaker 1: down the hall to Schumer and go, Hey, I just
- 3:29Speaker 1: got a call from a woman in Brooklyn. Here's what
- 3:32Speaker 1: she thinks. It never goes anywhere. Now, if you were
- 3:35Speaker 1: to call a Schumer's office or somebody's office and say, Yes,
- 3:40Speaker 1: I'd like to make a large donation. It's a whole
- 3:43Speaker 1: different story. You're going to be a big donor? Hang on,
- 3:45Speaker 1: hang on. He'll actually come on the phone and talk
- 3:49Speaker 1: to you. Let's go to Michael in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Michael,
- 3:53Speaker 1: how you doing? Michael?
- 3:56Speaker 4: Hi, how you doing? Good. I have a comment, and
- 4:02Speaker 4: my comment is this. I get the New York Post
- 4:05Speaker 4: delivered to my house every day.
- 4:06Speaker 1: The physical newspaper?
- 4:08Speaker 4: I'm a delivery person. He delivered the New York Times
- 4:12Speaker 4: to me.
- 4:12Speaker 1: All right, wait a minute. You get the physical newspaper
- 4:14Speaker 1: delivered to you? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I'm still one of those old guys.
- 4:18Speaker 1: All right, stop that. Stop that. That's news from 36
- 4:21Speaker 1: hours ago. Go to the New York Post website, nypost.com.
- 4:25Speaker 1: You'll get 10 times the news.
- 4:27Speaker 4: I just like reading a physical paper.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I know, but it's old news. The articles are not
- 4:32Speaker 1: as big as they are on the website. The pictures aren't.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Okay, but I got to tell you this, Mark. I
- 4:36Speaker 4: never called you before. I used to listen to you
- 4:39Speaker 4: on the weekends. Yeah. when you had that two-hour show
- 4:42Speaker 4: on the weekends, I loved it. You always spoke about
- 4:45Speaker 4: all the celebrities, and you always had interesting stories. But
- 4:48Speaker 4: this is the thing I wanted to talk to you about,
- 4:50Speaker 4: the New York Times, because I haven't read it in years.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Like I said, the delivery guy delivered the wrong paper.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I usually get the New York Post.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Well, this is a fascinating story, but can we get
- 4:59Speaker 1: to the point?
- 5:01Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, this is the point. The first 10 pages
- 5:04Speaker 4: of the New York Times, almost every article had an anti-Trump.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Well, that's the point of the New York Times. It's
- 5:11Speaker 1: an anti-Trump paper. It's not a newspaper anymore. It's just
- 5:14Speaker 1: an anti-Trump thing.
- 5:16Speaker 4: It's absolutely disgusting.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Well, no, that's what their audience wants. It's all Trump haters,
- 5:21Speaker 1: and that's their business model. Hate Trump, and they've got
- 5:24Speaker 1: a whole audience of Trump haters. Don't get the physical
- 5:26Speaker 1: newspaper anymore. Let's take the New York Post. I think
- 5:29Speaker 1: the print circulation is like 75,000. The website subscribers, I think,
- 5:35Speaker 1: is 4 million right now, so. You'll want to go
- 5:37Speaker 1: to the website because the print newspaper, the news is
- 5:40Speaker 1: from yesterday when they printed it. It's like one-fifth of
- 5:46Speaker 1: what's on the website. The stories are shorter. They don't
- 5:48Speaker 1: have as many pictures. It's much better. Just go to
- 5:51Speaker 1: the New York Post website and get a subscription. You'll
- 5:54Speaker 1: love it. Let's go to April in Astoria, Queens.
- 5:57Speaker 4: April. Listen. Yes.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Hi.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I want to know, I am really confused when I
- 6:04Speaker 3: hear constantly on the radio, on the news, we will win.
- 6:09Speaker 4: The Republicans will win. If people come out to vote,
- 6:12Speaker 4: we will win. But I don't understand, why won't people vote?
- 6:16Speaker 1: Well, that's common when it's not a presidential year that
- 6:19Speaker 1: a lot of people don't bother.
- 6:20Speaker 3: There's a But why won't they bother?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Because you've got to go somewhere. You've got to wait
- 6:26Speaker 1: in line. It's a pain in the neck.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Yeah, but how old are Republicans? Are they all 85 years.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Old in wheelchairs? What is it? They're all ages. You
- 6:36Speaker 1: didn't know that people don't like to vote? You know,
- 6:38Speaker 1: like only 5% of people vote nowadays. But anyway, April,
- 6:41Speaker 1: thanks for calling. Hey, when we come back, this guy
- 6:44Speaker 1: is like a legend in the broadcasting business, Dan Mason.
- 6:47Speaker 1: He ran CBS Radio. He ran Odyssey. He's the guy that,
- 6:53Speaker 1: Imus worked for him and Howard Stern. He's got a
- 6:55Speaker 1: lot of great stories. He wrote a new book. We'll
- 6:57Speaker 1: talk to him next on 710WOR.
