- 0:42But I'm back and ready with a few episodes lined up.
- 0:46Claudia is on vacation today, but it's okay.
- 0:49I have a special guest in this episode.
- 0:51This is a very old and dear friend of mine and perfect for the topic of this show.
- 0:57As long as I've been knowing this guy, he's always been into music.
- 1:01I call him a hip hop historian.
- 1:03My good friend, Deuce.
- 1:06Deuce, introduce yourself to the people.
- 1:07My name is deuce from mtcgear.com.
- 1:11That's my website.
- 1:13MTC stands for Move the crowd.
- 1:16Originally from the Bay Area, Fillmore.
- 1:19If anybody, if any of y' all know about San Francisco.
- 1:24Avid hip hop fan.
- 1:25Been down with hip hop since, you know, seventh grade.
- 1:28Probably 82.
- 1:30Really 80, you know what I mean?
- 1:33But participated in three out of the four elements of hip hop.
- 1:39I never really was an emcee, but I was a dj.
- 1:42I did graffiti and I was a B boy too.
- 1:47So, you know, started when I was seventh grade, really into the hip hop culture and never really let it go.
- 1:59So this is where we at right now.
- 2:02I think we both were born into this.
- 2:05Everybody around our age was pretty much raised in hip hop.
- 2:10In hip hop.
- 2:11That's right.
- 2:11That's right.
- 2:12Not just rap either, but hip hop culture.
- 2:16People get that confused, you know, like.
- 2:20Like hip hop is just a music.
- 2:22It's a lot more than a music, is even more than the four elements of hip hop.
- 2:27It is, you know, so much more.
- 2:32You know, it's funny you said use four elements because that is the basis of astrology and this is astrology.
- 2:40Show so, Deuce, welcome to I Am Astrology podcast.
- 2:45And let's begin.
- 2:47Thank you my brother.
- 2:48The last show, Born the Right, I talked about the famous author who wrote Gone with the Wind, Margaret Mitchell.
- 2:56I want to stay on the theme of writers, but different type of writers this time.
- 3:01I pointed out the influence of Gemini energy in Margaret's chart, which was good for short essays, and Sagittarius energy, which is built for more long stories.
- 3:13Margaret also had a was Virgo rising, which means Mercury was the ruler of her chart.
- 3:20Which gets me to today's topic.
- 3:23Mercury.
- 3:24Mercury was known as Hermes, the twinkling one, the messenger of God.
- 3:31A wide range of things can fall under Mercury significations, but I'm just going to name a few that relates to this show.
- 3:40Education, writings, speech interpretation, messages, following contests, sending messages, hearing critical thinking, properly speaking, teachers, orators, philosophers, musicians, dream interpreters, strong performers making livelihood from display.
- 4:08I think you're maybe starting to see where I'm going with this.
- 4:13Mercury is the closest planet to the sun.
- 4:16Think about an old mob boss.
- 4:19Only one person gets to speak to the boss and the boss speaks to that one person.
- 4:24That person lets everyone know what the boss wants done.
- 4:29Mercury will be that go between person from the boss or who speaks and the person who relays the boss's message.
- 4:37Being the closest to the sun, you can see why he is the messenger.
- 4:42Mercury rules two suns, Gemini and Virgo.
- 4:46Gemini is a masculine mutable air sign.
- 4:50Virgo on the other hand is feminine mutable earth sign.
- 4:55I'm telling you all this.
- 4:57Everything has a yin and a yang.
- 4:59It even goes as deep as planetary expression of Mercury.
- 5:04When thinking masculine feminine an easy way to understand the concept Males give females receive fire and air are male, Earth and water are female.
- 5:18Today we are focused on Mercury people rappers.
- 5:24One day I took I was looking at my top 5 rappers info.
- 5:28I wanted to see what made them want to rap.
- 5:31I soon ran into a little problem.
- 5:34The list of rappers kept getting longer and longer.
- 5:38Not my top five list, but the list of rappers who had Gemini or Virgo in their chart.
- 5:46Don't get me wrong, not all rappers have Gemini or Virgo signatures, but a lot of the big names do.
- 5:53Enough to make me want to make this podcast.
- 5:56With that said, I'mma begin with my first rapper.
- 6:01I'm starting off with my one of my favorite rappers of all time, Tupac.
- 6:07Not only was Tupac a Gemini sun, he also has Mercury and Venus in Gemini.
- 6:13I also find it interesting that His Saturn is 29 degrees Taurus which means it's right at the edge of Gemini and he had a Aries moon.
- 6:25Taurus rules values and security.
- 6:28Aries is the warrior.
- 6:31When I think of Tupac, he fought Aries for a certain type of value system, Taurus, in which he communicated through his raps.
- 6:43One of the last astrological aspects about Tupac I found interesting and is he has Mars in Aquarius.
- 6:51Aquarius is like friends and associates.
- 6:55Mars is malefic planet.
- 6:57And it could be like enemies.
- 7:01And it could be said that Tupac's downfall was his association with Suge Knight and Death Row Rockets.
- 7:10Deuce, you have any thoughts on Tupac?
- 7:14Yeah, you mentioned your top five rappers.
- 7:18Tupac is right there number one for me.
- 7:22He was, you know, me being from the bay, big got big respect for the Panthers.
- 7:31And, you know, Pac was, was born into the panther life, you know, he was raised the Panther way, so he revolutionary.
- 7:44Would you say the Panther way is a certain value system?
- 7:49Absolutely.
- 7:50Tor Taurus Panther way is about independence, self independence, being able to, as a people, provide for yourself and your families and your community, you know, and provide and protect, you know.
- 8:09So if you listen to Pac, a lot of his rhymes were about the struggle and about oppression and about being a strong, independent black man in America and the way that that makes a lot of people afraid.
- 8:35Everything you're talking about right now is speaking to his Aries moon sign.
- 8:41Aries is the warrior.
- 8:43Moon is emotions and feelings.
- 8:46And so Tupac fought fiercely for the things that topics that you were just saying.
- 8:59That's right.
- 9:00That's right.
- 9:01And he was able to do it in a way that wasn't preachy.
- 9:07He just felt like he was one of the homies.
- 9:10But he made you want to stand up for yourself and, and, and be a part of this struggle that he talked about in his rhymes, you know, he was a.
- 9:29Like I say, he was just a revolutionary, you know what I mean?
- 9:32In the sense that he felt like it was time for black folks to step up and take the crown.
- 9:44Where do you put him on your top five?
- 9:46Oh, like I say, he's number one on my list, you know, just because not only did he talk the talk, but he walked the walk, you know what I mean?
- 9:58Like the shoot when he shot those police in Atlanta, you know, those off duty cops in Atlanta because they were harassing a black man, you know what I mean?
- 10:11And the fact that when he was getting robbed, he didn't just bow down and let them take what was his, they damn near had to kill him for it.
- 10:22You know what I mean?
- 10:22A lot of people or a lot of these rappers get on the mic or get in the booth and start talking all that stuff about, you know, how gangster they are, but how much do we really know about
- 10:37who they are and what they would do in these situations, you know?
- 10:41But for Pac, the stuff that he said in his lyrics, he backed it up outside of the booth.
- 10:48And that was one of the main things that I respected about him.
- 10:52I have a question.
- 10:53What do you think contributed to his death and downfall?
- 11:01He kind of had a self destructive personality, you know what I mean?
- 11:09Like the same things that made us respect him.
- 11:13Speaking out and standing up for yourself and not biting your tongue, you know, sometimes diplomacy is needed.
- 11:25And you know, me being a Gemini, I can understand that we are.
- 11:35Diplomacy is hard for us.
- 11:36It's either one way or the other way, you know, And a lot of that, you see a lot of that in Pac.
- 11:45Like he, he was either either you was down with him or you was an enemy, you know what I mean?
- 11:51What do you think about that last statement I made by his association with Suge and Death Row may have been his downfall.
- 12:01It definitely was because they encouraged that side of him, the self destructive side, the confrontational side.
- 12:13Like as a Gemini,.
- 12:17By the way, I forgot you was a Gemini, which makes you perfect for this show.
- 12:25Go ahead.
- 12:25But as a Gemini, it's hard to sugarcoat stuff.
- 12:33Like, I hate to use the word real because it's so.
- 12:40It's like cliche almost.
- 12:41Keep it real, be real, stay real, you know what I mean?
- 12:45But as a Gemini, it's hard to.
- 12:52Well, as the astrologer on the show, I would just say it depends on the level of Gemini you're on.
- 13:01Because there's different.
- 13:06There's low vibration, balance vibration and high vibration and sometimes lower vibration.
- 13:14Geminis don't be on the same wavelength.
- 13:17So I think, I think his.
- 13:19Some of the stuff that you're talking about is actually speaking to his moon sign.
- 13:25The fierceness, the.
- 13:27You know.
- 13:27Right.
- 13:28But not so much the fierceness, it's.
- 13:30Like the self destructiveness.
- 13:32Because Aries, when you.
- 13:34You seen the movie 300.
- 13:38Yeah, parts of it.
- 13:39Or how about the movie Troy with Brad Pitt?
- 13:44Troy, yeah.
- 13:45When he was a killer.
- 13:46Yeah.
- 13:46I didn't see that.
- 13:47Yeah, a long time ago.
- 13:50That's Achilles.
- 13:51Brad Pitt's character is.
- 13:54Think that's Ares.
- 13:56You know how Brad Pitt got in?
- 13:58Got on his horse after his cousin got pissed off.
- 14:01I mean, rolled in front the gate and stood there.
- 14:05Come on out here.
- 14:06He was out there by himself.
- 14:08That's Tupac's Moon.
- 14:10Right, right, right.
- 14:11And that's who Pac was.
- 14:13But what I'm speaking to is more of, like, the diplomacy side of it.
- 14:18Like, sometimes, like, maybe some other signs, they're better with smooth.
- 14:26Like, being smooth with your words to where you can say something and it'll go over a lot.
- 14:36A lot smoother.
- 14:37You can say something that's kind of confrontational or kind of controversial, but it'll go over a lot smoother.
- 14:44Whereas as a Gemini, I know I had this problem.
- 14:47I just say what's on my mind directly, straight and plain.
- 14:52And that's how Pac was.
- 14:54I mean, he just said what was on his mind.
- 14:56The way it came out was the way it came out, whether it was harsh or whether it was confrontational or whether it was something else.
- 15:06So he just came real plain.
- 15:11Like, it's hard to be diplomatic with your words as a Gemini.
- 15:16Well, I'm glad that you're saying all this because that makes.
- 15:20Gives us a perfect segue into our next rapper.
- 15:25Okay.
- 15:26Because Tupac had an Aries moon, and the opposite of Aries is Libra, and Libra is the scales, and it's the balance, and it rules relationships.
- 15:38Right.
- 15:40So with that being said, one of my next favorite rappers is Ice Cube.
- 15:48I found a time chart on him.
- 15:50Ice Cube is a Gemini with a cancer moon.
- 15:54He is also a Libra rising.
- 15:58What's interesting to me about A Libra Rising is.
- 16:01Is Libra is the scales of balance.
- 16:04One of the reasons he left the group NWA at the height of the popularity is because the money in the group was unfair and unequal.
- 16:16Another thing about Ice Cube is his sun and Mercury being in Gemini or in the ninth house.
- 16:24The ninth house is associated with the sun, Sagittarius, which could be broadcasting and storytelling.
- 16:31Ice Cube is one of the best storytellers that has ever touched the microphone.
- 16:38He gets help from the moon and the sign that it rules.
- 16:43It helps him set and feel and set the right mood for the song.
- 16:50Two more things about him.
- 16:52First, his north node.
- 16:55What his soul really wants to do in his lifetime is in Pisces, which can be film and photography.
- 17:04Even though he started from rap, his soul always wanted to tell stories on the big screen.
- 17:12The only thing is that Sagittarius energy likes to laugh.
- 17:17It's really interesting to me that.
- 17:19That if you're listening to Ice Cube's music, it's really on a serious tip.
- 17:25He's telling messages, you know, a vibe Kind of like he's preaching, but when you watch his movies, he tries to make you laugh.
- 17:35Friday, Barbershop.
- 17:37Are we there yet?
- 17:39I think all of his movies are some kind of comedy.
- 17:44Deuce, got any thoughts on Ice Cube?
- 17:49You know, he.
- 17:51He's a lot like Pac in certain ways.
- 17:54You know, he was very confrontational.
- 17:56He didn't bite his tongue.
- 17:58You know, whatever he was thinking or feeling, that's what you was gonna get.
- 18:03You know what I mean?
- 18:04That's where you get Fuck the Police and Bitch is a Bitch and, you know, gangsta Gangster.
- 18:12I mean, he just had a way.
- 18:14Of.
- 18:17Kind of giving us what was going on, but what we all were experiencing, but put it in a dramatic way.
- 18:24And he was.
- 18:25I mean, a lot of people see Pac, the Pac now, you know, and they think comedies and laughing and, you know, you see him smile now, but back in the day, you never saw Pac's Pac.
- 18:38I mean, Cube smile.
- 18:40You know what I'm saying?
- 18:42He was, like, perpetually angry, you know what I mean?
- 18:46And that's one of the things about Cube that was so captivating, was the fact that, you know, as a young black man in America, you know, from South Central la, he was just so bold with some of the
- 19:03stuff that he was saying and some of the stuff that he was doing.
- 19:06You know, you look back on it now and you're like, damn.
- 19:09You know, that was.
- 19:10It's amazing that a young 18, 19 year old had this type of perspective, you know, and he was able to put it into words to where not only we could feel it, but people who didn't live in our
- 19:27areas could feel it as well, you know.
- 19:31What do you think about his storytelling?
- 19:36He was, you know, one of the best to do it, you know, from his song about Don't Fuck With a Bitch in the Projects too, you know.
- 19:46And that was like one of his first rhymes, you know, or one of his first CDs, you know, and on and on and on.
- 19:54Today was a good day.
- 19:56He had.
- 19:56Yeah, today was a good day.
- 19:58On every CD he had a song or at least two or three songs, really, where he told little ghetto boy a story.
- 20:07Yeah, Who?
- 20:08Little Ghetto Boy.
- 20:10That was Snoop, was it?
- 20:12Oh, oh, you said Once Upon a Time in the product.
- 20:15I think that's the one.
- 20:16Once Upon a Time in the projects.
- 20:17Yeah.
- 20:18Yeah.
- 20:19And then, you know, he was one of the coldest storytellers to ever do it.
- 20:24Does that have something to do with his.
- 20:27With his astrology zodiac?
- 20:29Yeah, that's why I was saying His.
- 20:32His.
- 20:32Even though he's a Gemini, his Gemini is.
- 20:36A lot of his Gemini planets are sitting in a storytelling house.
- 20:42And so that's why if you, you know, a lot of his songs are the ones that he's solo.
- 20:50He's telling stories, and it has themes.
- 20:53And sits in a house.
- 20:55What.
- 20:56What is.
- 20:56What is a house?
- 20:59Imagine.
- 21:01Imagine a pizza cutting 12 slices.
- 21:08Each slice would be a house, okay?
- 21:14And one of those.
- 21:15Each slice of that pizza is area.
- 21:20It focuses on a topic.
- 21:23It exudes a certain type of energy.
- 21:27So like, the third house, the third slice of pizza would be the communication slice of pizza.
- 21:37And so.
- 21:38So if your sun sign.
- 21:40If you got a whole bunch of planets sitting on the.
- 21:44This.
- 21:45The third slice of pizza, that means you eat a lot of.
- 21:51You know, your energy is focused on that third slice of pizza.
- 21:57Communication.
- 21:58Communication.
- 21:59But if you're.
- 22:00If you got like, say your sun sign is in the seventh house.
- 22:04The seventh house.
- 22:05The seventh house is.
- 22:06The seventh slice of pizza would represent relationships.
- 22:12And so that person would be focused on relationships and stuff like that.
- 22:19Ninth house.
- 22:21Higher Learning Beliefs, School Philosophy.
- 22:26What was one of his movies he started in?
- 22:29I learned it.
- 22:30I was just about to say that.
- 22:33There you go.
- 22:34Let me see your idea.
- 22:35There you go.
- 22:36There you go.
- 22:36It's all.
- 22:37So it's.
- 22:37This is energy.
- 22:38It's energy, man.
- 22:39And.
- 22:40And we.
- 22:42It's rep.
- 22:42We represent energy.
- 22:43And people don't realize that you naturally do stuff that your energy says in your chart.
- 22:56You know what I'm saying?
- 22:58So.
- 23:00Everybody, by the way, Deuce knows nothing about astrology.
- 23:08All he knows is sun sign.
- 23:10So actually, a little bit.
- 23:15But, but, but, but you don't know anything about moon signs and Mercury and all that stuff.
- 23:21So bear with.
- 23:23That's why he's asking me these questions.
- 23:26I have him on the show for his hip hop knowledge, not his astrology knowledge.
- 23:36Is there any albums you like from Ice Cube?
- 23:46Of course, the first NWA Album was damn near all Ice Cube, you know, and Ran, basically.
- 23:54You know.
- 23:54But I like.
- 23:57I mean, first solo album.
- 23:59Let me see.
- 24:00Of course, his first solo album, America's Most Wanted, Lethal Injection and Uncle Sam.
- 24:13What was that?
- 24:14Was it.
- 24:14It wasn't Uncle Sam's Curse.
- 24:16It was the one where he had the Uncle Sam on there with the toe tag on.
- 24:27Oh, Kill that Will.
- 24:29Was that Kill At Will?
- 24:31Nah, Kill at Will was the ep.
- 24:33But that was, you know, I mean,.
- 24:37Anything.
- 24:38Anything Cube did, I was down with it, you know what I'm saying?
- 24:41Until kind of like toward the end of his career, he kind of came with phony ass shits.
- 24:48But, you know, pretty much anything Cube did, I was, I was a fan.
- 24:55One last question on Cube before we move on.
- 24:58Where do you put him on your.
- 24:59Where is he on your list?
- 25:02He's in my top 10.
- 25:04I don't have him in my.
- 25:08And I feel kind of guilty about that, you know what I mean?
- 25:11Because he's one of the coldest to ever do it.
- 25:13And he, he was a groundbreaking mc, you know what I mean?
- 25:20He did a lot of things that a lot of people were scared to do and didn't care about the consequences, you know what I mean?
- 25:26But just as far as an MC, like, I don't have him in my top five, but he's definitely one of my top 10.
- 25:37And then, you know, if you.
- 25:39There's a separate list that might be like influence on the culture.
- 25:48And he would have to be in my top five just because of, you know, fuck.
- 25:53The Police was groundbreaking, you know what I mean?
- 25:59And the movies that he made and starred in were definitely influences on the culture economically and, you know, in film.
- 26:12My last little bit about Ice Cube is I said he's a Libra rising.
- 26:17Libra's like relationships, right?
- 26:21And Ice Cube is one of the best MCs to be in two super groups, west side Connection and NWA so let's move on to my next rapper.
- 26:37I started off with.
- 26:39We started off with two Gemini Energy rappers.
- 26:43Now let's switch it to the other side of Mercury.
- 26:49Even though he's not in my top five, many people may put this guy in their top five.
- 26:56Nas.
- 26:58Nas is a Virgo.
- 27:00Virgo is a different expression of Mercury.
- 27:03Virgo is.
- 27:04I analyze.
- 27:06And Virgo is the server, as in try to help people.
- 27:10Nas really tries to.
- 27:12To relate to people because he has three planets in Libra, so he likes to keep things cool and balanced.
- 27:20But his Aries moon allows him to fight for the people he's in relationships with.
- 27:28His Mars is in Taurus.
- 27:30Again, values and security.
- 27:33If you think about Nas's raps and what he raps about, he raps about how blacks as a community should come together and work together.
- 27:45Libra, you can tell from his raps he has read and analyzed the things he is saying.
- 27:52He just doesn't say anything.
- 27:54And when he does say something, he really trying to help people out with the things he's saying, which would point to his Virgo.
- 28:06The last thing I find interesting about Nas is he has Saturn in cancer.
- 28:12Cancer is feelings and emotions and Saturn is kind of think of a blocker, you know, like a stop sign.
- 28:22Although Nas is a great lyricist and has much respect in the rap game, Nas never really had a chart topping hit.
- 28:33Why?
- 28:34In my opinion, even though he's given us valuable information, one of his downfalls is his music kind of lacks feeling.
- 28:47Cancer, what's your thoughts about Nas?
- 28:50Deuce?
- 28:53So nas is number two on my top five list of MCs.
- 29:00Like I put a high value on substance in your rhymes and other than pop, there's nobody who has more, more, more substance in their rhymes.
- 29:15A lot of people can ride a beat, you know what I mean, and, and say some things, you know, that sound good on a beat, makes you want to dance.
- 29:34The thing about Nas is he packs so much substance into what he says, I mean, into his songs.
- 29:44Without sounding preachy.
- 29:46He sings like a down to earth brother, you know, that you really could be one of your homeboys.
- 29:52Speaks to his Virgo, go ahead.
- 29:55And he can, he can get away with kind of trying to give you this information or trying to rally you against the powers that be without sounding preachy or without, you know, sounding like goofy, you know what I
- 30:19mean?
- 30:19He was.
- 30:21And the way that he says his rhymes, his voice and his, his presence on the microphone is really, you know, one of the, one of the best.
- 30:35Like if you like, like I say Pac is my number one rapper, my number one mc.
- 30:43But if you, if you were creating like the perfect mc, he would probably have Nas voice and Nas's flow, you know what I mean?
- 30:54Like, Pac wasn't the prototypical emcee as like a battle rapper or, you know, somebody that you can, you feel is like a super dope lyricist, whereas Nas was.
- 31:10And he did that from his very first CD to his last cd.
- 31:17I mean, I, you know, like I said, I, I do have respect for Nas, you know, I just, he's just not in my top five.
- 31:26I agree with you as far as, like, his beat selection wasn't always the, the beats that made you want to dance or the songs that made you want to drive fast or bob your head or you were jamming
- 31:38to.
- 31:39But his lyrical content, his voice and his delivery was always on point.
- 31:45Yeah.
- 31:46It's just sometimes he put it over the wrong beats.
- 31:50Yeah.
- 31:50And if you think here's something that.
- 31:53Always kind of confused me is that.
- 31:59Have you ever listened to, what was that CD with him and Foxy Brown and Dream the Firm?
- 32:08Have you ever listened to the Firm cd?
- 32:10I only heard like one, one or two songs.
- 32:16I mean, to me, the firm was.
- 32:18Was.
- 32:19Was real tight.
- 32:20But didn't Dre say everybody for everybody else, look, look.
- 32:25Didn't Dr.
- 32:25Dre in the song say, you say I made the firm flop?
- 32:35Yeah, yeah.
- 32:35He said it was a firm fiasco.
- 32:37And I'm like, that's what I don't understand.
- 32:39Like, with him, Foxy Brown and Dre, they had Watch and Az Az on there.
- 32:46He cool, huh?
- 32:48They say an Az.
- 32:51Az.
- 32:51Yeah, they had Az on there.
- 32:52He cool and all, but just with them, too.
- 32:54Foxy Brown and.
- 32:58And Nas, Nas, that was a cold ass CD they had.
- 33:04The beats was tight, the rhymes was tight.
- 33:06I think the reason that they say that is more political, you know what I mean?
- 33:12Like Dre from the west coast.
- 33:15And I mean, that came out, like, right on the hills of the East Coast, west coast beat, you know what I'm saying?
- 33:21And they.
- 33:23I think people was just hating on him because it was Dre, you know what I'm saying?
- 33:27And Nas and people was trying to force everybody to pick a side.
- 33:32But it was good music to me, and that's what matters to me.
- 33:36I don't care where you from.
- 33:37You could be from Haiti.
- 33:40Any last words on Nas before I move on to my next one?
- 33:46Got much respect for Nas.
- 33:48He was one of my favorite rappers.
- 33:49That's all I got left to say about.
- 33:51All right, well, staying on Virgo, next up is Busta Rhymes.
- 33:57Now, I know you're thinking Paul Busta Rhymes is a Taurus.
- 34:01Why are you bringing him up with Virgo?
- 34:03Well, Busta Rhymes has a Virgo moon.
- 34:07He may not be in anyone's top 10 of all time.
- 34:11So why am I bringing him up in this list?
- 34:14Of course, you guys know who've been listening to the show by now.
- 34:18I just don't bring stuff up for any old reason.
- 34:21When you think of Busta Rhymes, what comes to mind?
- 34:25His unique raps.
- 34:28Well, the reason Busta Rhymes is on this list is because I found it interesting that he has four planets that are retrograde in his chart.
- 34:37In his chart, retrograde means if you were looking at the sky, it would appear that the planet orbit were going backwards in the zodiac.
- 34:48Having a planet retrograde in a chart is not uncommon because Mercury goes retrograde three times a year.
- 34:56In fact, it's retrograde right now.
- 35:00But.
- 35:04What is not common is having four planets retrograde in your chart.
- 35:14Pete, let me ask you this.
- 35:16What's the moon?
- 35:18The moon is actually.
- 35:19The moon is not a planet.
- 35:21It's actually a Luminary.
- 35:23The sun and the moon are luminaries.
- 35:25And then you, you got the other ones.
- 35:28Mercury, Venus, well, Earth, Mars.
- 35:34But when you say he got a moon rising or something in the moon, like, what does that mean, the moon?
- 35:40So the sun sign, your son, is your ego.
- 35:44But when.
- 35:45But when you get emotional, you act like your moon sign.
- 35:51So even though you're a Gemini, I don't actually know your moon sign, but even though you're a Gemini, if I push you up against the wall, your reaction to me is not going to be Gemini, it's going to
- 36:04be your moon sign.
- 36:08Okay?
- 36:08Your reaction, your.
- 36:10Your emotions take over, and that is your moon sign.
- 36:15So the moon sign governs emotions?
- 36:17Yeah.
- 36:19Okay.
- 36:19Yeah, yeah.
- 36:21So Busta Rhymes has four planets, retrograde, moving backwards in his chart.
- 36:31How has this retrograde pattern shown up in Busta Rhymes chart?
- 36:35As well as he has Saturn in Gemini and Uranus, the planet of shock and strange and unusual.
- 36:44In the third house of communication, Busta Rhyme raps really, really fast.
- 36:53Not only does he rap fast, but he has a really deep, distinctive voice.
- 36:58Taurus rules the throat.
- 37:01His voice.
- 37:03What do you think about Busta Rhymes?
- 37:06Honestly, I kind of got into Busta Rhymes later on.
- 37:12Like when he first came out with Leaders of the New School, he was just too rambunctious.
- 37:17Like, I didn't like all of that, you know what I mean?
- 37:19Like, rah rah, wah wah wah,.
- 37:24You know that I really wasn't into that.
- 37:26Like, he was cool and all, you know, but I didn't like all of that loud rambunctiousness, you know what I mean?
- 37:36But he kind of smoothed it out as his career went along, and that's when I really started.
- 37:43He always has been, you know, one of the coldest MCs.
- 37:47Like, you know, you can't be in native tongues, you know, and not be cold on the mic.
- 37:54But his style, to me, you know how some people are great lyricists, but you just ain't feeling them?
- 38:01Yeah.
- 38:02You know what I mean?
- 38:03That's how it was with him.
- 38:04But as time went on, he kind of mellowed a little bit and I started to like him more.
- 38:11Like that song that he did with Janet Jackson is really kind of the turning point of my.
- 38:19My thing with Busta Rhymes.
- 38:21Like before that, you know, like, woo ha.
- 38:25Was that him?
- 38:25Yeah, yeah.
- 38:26I don't like all that.
- 38:27Woo ha.
- 38:28Gotcha all in check, you know what I'm saying?
- 38:30Like, all that, you know what I mean?
- 38:32But after, like, when I heard him on that Janet Jackson song was smoother, you know what I mean?
- 38:41And I could appreciate what he was saying more because he wasn't being so dramatic, you know what I mean?
- 38:47So now, I mean, he always been one of the coldest, but now I appreciate him more than I did in the beginning.
- 38:55Like, I didn't really like Leaders of the New School.
- 38:58I liked Native Tongues, you know what I mean?
- 39:01Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers and all of them.
- 39:05But.
- 39:07I started liking Busta Rhymes a little bit later on in his career as a player opposed to in the beginning of his career.
- 39:14What would you put him on your list?
- 39:18Is he even in the top 20?
- 39:24You know, I don't know, but I would have to.
- 39:28I never thought about my top 20, but there's been a lot of MCs over the years.
- 39:34Yeah, I don't know if he would be in my top 20 or not.
- 39:38Well, it's safe to say he's not in your top 10.
- 39:42No, he's not in my top 10.
- 39:45So I don't know where I would put him.
- 39:47And I don't want to disrespect him in any way because he's a.
- 39:50He's a great mc, you know what I mean?
- 39:55Hey, hey, if Busta Rhymes ever happen to listen to this show, I think you're a great mc, my brother.
- 40:03Stop Brown Nosing Boy.
- 40:06But he added a lot to the culture.
- 40:08I give him credit where it's due.
- 40:11But just as far as my personal taste, he's not one of my top MCs, you know what I mean?
- 40:19But I mean, that doesn't mean he's not great.
- 40:22It just means, like, for my personal taste, he's not way up there like some of the other ones.
- 40:28Oh, like this next guy who I'm about to talk about, and this guy is a heavyweight in the game, and I'm about to throw a little curveball at you.
- 40:41Okay, Jay Z.
- 40:44Now, Jay Z is a Sagittarius, so why would I put a Sagittarius in this list when I'm talking about Geminis and Virgos?
- 40:54Well, although Jay Z is a saga, he is a Virgo.
- 40:59Rising.
- 41:00Your rising sign is one of your three major signs, the other two being your sun and moon.
- 41:06The rising sun, some say, is what your soul wants to be, mostly what your soul mostly wants to express.
- 41:14This life, it's determined by the time of birth you were born.
- 41:18And the rising sun changes every two hours.
- 41:21So a accurate birth time is really important.
- 41:28The sun and the planet that rules that sign is looked at as the captain of the vessel that's driving you around this lifetime.
- 41:40With that being said, Jay Z being a Virgo Rising, makes his chart ruler Mercury.
- 41:49Now you see why he's on this list.
- 41:52Jay Z is one of the most prolific rappers ever.
- 41:55Depending on who you ask, some may say he's the goat.
- 41:59One of the things that makes him so great is his sad energy, the ability to tell stories.
- 42:06He does it in a Virgo like very analytical, no wasted words way.
- 42:12His rhymes are very strategical.
- 42:15His sun and Mercury are in the fourth house of home, family and roots.
- 42:22What made Jay Z famous?
- 42:24Jay Z told a lot of stories about selling drugs and a thing that went on around where he lived.
- 42:32Marcy projects.
- 42:34He also has three planets in the second values and security.
- 42:40Some.
- 42:40Some call it the money house.
- 42:42After making making it really big, what did Jay Z do?
- 42:49He talked about a lot.
- 42:51He talked a lot about the money and shit he got.
- 42:56Everyone knows his famous wife who just happens to be a Virgo.
- 43:02One last thing.
- 43:04When the Virgo Rising Jay Z went up against a true Virgo, Nas in a battle of lyrics.
- 43:14The true Virgo one, Nas killed Jay Z on Ether.
- 43:20If you think about a battle rap, you have to analyze your opponent and present the information in a clever way which takes analyzation of information.
- 43:33Virgo the earthy Virgo beat the fiery sag.
- 43:38If me and you were sitting around a campfire and I take a whole bunch of dirt and I throw it on top of fire, what's gonna happen?
- 43:48The fire is gonna go out.
- 43:51And it's mighty interesting that a earth sign.
- 43:56Virgo beat a fire fire sign on a song named after fire.
- 44:04Ether.
- 44:06Got any thoughts on Jay Z?
- 44:10So Jigga, of course, he's one of the coldest ever.
- 44:14He's like fourth on my list.
- 44:17But honestly, I mean, I always liked his music, but I really started to respect him more later in his career and for different reasons.
- 44:31I mean, I know that sounds a lot like what I just said about Busta, but for Jigga, you know, the music was always on point.
- 44:40You know, the rhymes and his rhyme style was always on point.
- 44:43I like how you said a few wasted words because he was very precise with his words, you know what I mean?
- 44:52But for me, like I was saying in the beginning of the show, his.
- 45:02He just came off as really superficial to me in the beginning because I didn't see his vision, you know what I mean?
- 45:11I didn't see what he was really about.
- 45:13And sometimes it just takes time, you know, like.
- 45:17Like I say about NAS and pac, like, I really put substance above flash.
- 45:27I have a question for you.
- 45:29Okay.
- 45:30We were talking earlier, and one of the things.
- 45:34One of the reasons you said you didn't like Jay Z at first is cause he talked about a lot of what,.
- 45:41Like, flashy stuff, like money and cars and houses and jewelry and all of that stuff.
- 45:48Second house.
- 45:49Values.
- 45:49Insecurity.
- 45:50Money.
- 45:53That's why.
- 45:53So that's why I was asking you the question.
- 45:55You didn't know.
- 45:56You didn't know.
- 45:57But that actually was pointing to a focus.
- 46:01A piece of pizza.
- 46:03Second house.
- 46:06He's focused on money.
- 46:08And right.
- 46:09Right in the beginning of his career, it came off kind of arrogant and kind of.
- 46:20Whereas now I see that he's more into economic independence, you know, not just for himself, but more so in his music.
- 46:31Now it's more evident that he's talking about us as a people becoming more economically independent, you know, with investments and, you know, not.
- 46:43Not buying a lot of the stuff that he talked about in the beginning of his career, you know what I mean?
- 46:49And investing that money and being smart with your money and making your money work.
- 46:56Instead of you working harder, he's more into making your money work.
- 47:00So I think he matured as time went on, and now he's able to kind of put everything in perspective and give us the full story, you know what I mean?
- 47:18Whereas, opposed to you, when he was younger, he was like, yeah, I'm getting money.
- 47:22This is what I got, you know, and you should do this, you know, so.
- 47:28Because I always, like, like the difference.
- 47:31Like, I see the difference between him and, like, maybe a baby, you know, from cash money.
- 47:38That's all they talk about.
- 47:39Spending money, spending money, spending money.
- 47:42Sooner or later, your money is going to run out.
- 47:44There's a lot of cats that had money and they broke now, you know what I mean?
- 47:48And I could see that happening to Baby because that's all they talk about.
- 47:53Now, granted, I don't know what investments they got or what they do to make that money work for them, but as far as Jay Z is concerned, he just seems to be more into economic independence and being smart
- 48:15with your money.
- 48:16So you got that off the 444 album.
- 48:22The 444 album was so much more than just money.
- 48:29Like, he talked about that.
- 48:31He also talked about his mom, you know what I mean?
- 48:35He really opened up.
- 48:38Like, that was his most.
- 48:39His album with the most substance on it, you know what I mean?
- 48:43He talked about his kids, he talked about his marriage, he talked about his mom and her issues with being in the closet as a lesbian.
- 48:53You know what I'm saying?
- 48:54And he talked about money and investments.
- 48:57Like, to me, I wouldn't say, like, that's the album that I want to put in and just jam out to.
- 49:02But as far as getting to know Jay Z and what he's really about, where he's really coming from, that was the album that he did.
- 49:13I'm gonna put you on the spot.
- 49:14What would be your album of Jay Z you would put in the Riley jam, too?
- 49:21Reasonable Doubt, Without a Doubt, Blueprint.
- 49:27You know what I mean?
- 49:28Like, I got a.
- 49:29Not.
- 49:29I got a Jay Z playlist, and it's like a hundred songs.
- 49:34You know what I mean?
- 49:36No.
- 49:39So, you know, he's one of my favorite MCs, and he got some jams over the years, but if I was gonna put in a cd, it'd be Reasonable Doubt, Rock, La Familia, or Blueprint.
- 50:01Yeah, I really didn't.
- 50:06I really wasn't on Jay Z at first until I.
- 50:11I was forced to work by myself, and I.
- 50:14I ended up listening to a whole album, and I was like, oh, man, this dude is incredible.
- 50:24Right?
- 50:25You know, so, you know, is he in my top five?
- 50:32Yeah, I think I.
- 50:33Yeah, I think he's in my top five, barely, but these are my top five.
- 50:42But this next guy is not in my top five.
- 50:49And some people would say I'm crazy for not having them in my top five.
- 50:55So we talked about Geminis and we talked about some Virgos.
- 51:01Right?
- 51:02So.
- 51:04And we just talked about a goat.
- 51:07Right.
- 51:08Jay Z, would you say he's one of those?
- 51:11So I' ma stay on the goat topic.
- 51:14And since we talking about goats and Virgo, I'm gonna stay in the New York area.
- 51:26This guy was actually friends with the first guy I talked about.
- 51:35We talked about on the show.
- 51:36But their feud ended up turning a whole coast against each other.
- 51:41Some say if this Gemini wouldn't have died.
- 51:45Jay Z might not be as big as he is today by now.
- 51:51You not.
- 51:51You got to know who I'm talking about.
- 51:53The notorious Biggie has a son, and it's right on the cusp of Gemini and Taurus.
- 52:02But he.
- 52:04Wait, Biggie has a son?
- 52:06It's like right on the cusp of Gemini and Taurus, but he also has a Saturn sign, which is in Gemini as well.
- 52:14Biggie not only has the masculine side of Mercury, he has the feminine side as well, because his moon sign is in Virgo.
- 52:24Biggie had a clever way of formulating his rhymes.
- 52:28Then he also had the ability to communicate the feelings behind those words.
- 52:34With that Virgo moon.
- 52:36What did Biggie talk about?
- 52:39Well, with his actual Mercury sign thoughts, sitting in Taurus, what else but the finer things in life?
- 52:49Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis.
- 52:52When I was dead broke, man couldn't picture this 50 inch screen, leather, green leather sofa, got two cribs, a limousine with a chauffeur.
- 53:02The last thing I want to say about Biggie is he has Venus, the planet of love, and Mars, the planet of war together in his chart.
- 53:13They call that a conjunction.
- 53:16Interesting.
- 53:18Someone he once had love for ended up.
- 53:22He ended up being in a war with and some say may have even cost him his life.
- 53:29Any thoughts on Biggie?
- 53:34Biggie?
- 53:35I remember Biggie from his first song Party and Busted.
- 53:41He switched up his style because he was just like, kind of like a street thug, you know what I'm saying?
- 53:50When he first came out.
- 53:52But then, I mean, I could see why Pac would feel like he kind of stole his style because all of a sudden he wanted to be super player Versace shirts and shades and you know what I'm saying?
- 54:08But as far as lyrics go, Biggie was one of the coldest to ever do it.
- 54:13It's a tragedy that his career and his life were cut short because he had so much more to give to the culture that he was not able to give because he was killed so early on in his life.
- 54:30I mean, you think these guys were killed before the age of 30, you know, 25, 26, 27 years old.
- 54:39Him and Pop got killed.
- 54:41They the same age.
- 54:43You know, it's just such a tragedy that both of these guys are gone way too early because they had so much more to give.
- 54:51But what is, what's interesting is the volume of music that Pac put out in the same amount of time that Biggie put out.
- 55:04Pac went to jail, Biggie was free.
- 55:07Pac came out and put out like 500 songs, you know what I mean?
- 55:16So, I mean, that's the interesting thing to me.
- 55:18That's why, I mean, Biggie is one of the greatest to ever do it, no doubt.
- 55:23But as far as body of work, he just got cut short, you know what I mean?
- 55:32And it's funny that they both got cut short around the same amount of time.
- 55:36But Pac put out so much.
- 55:38I mean, it's not just a little bit more music than he did.
- 55:42Pac put out so much more music than he did.
- 55:46That enables Pac to still be at the top of my list, Whereas Biggie's not in my top five.
- 55:54He's a great emcee and as far as lyricist, he's one of the best.
- 55:58But just as far as body of work, like, he runs out of songs and you still got plenty more songs when you're talking about people like Pac, Jay Z and Nas, you know, so he's definitely one of the
- 56:14best to ever do it.
- 56:15I just wish he would have got a.
- 56:17A longer time to prove his worth.
- 56:20Yeah.
- 56:23Is he in your top five?
- 56:30Nope, he's not in my top five.
- 56:33But it's not because of talent.
- 56:35It's just because he doesn't have as much work to stand on as these other guys.
- 56:44He's definitely as talented or MC as anybody.
- 56:49You know what I mean?
- 56:49But he never got the chance to put out.
- 56:53I mean, and you could say, oh, but he was cold.
- 56:55He was cold.
- 56:56I mean, he was cold.
- 56:57But who's to say that his next album wasn't gonna flop or his next few songs wasn't gonna be whack, you know what I mean?
- 57:05Whereas Pac, the proof is in the pudding.
- 57:07He got song after song after song even after he died.
- 57:12This lets you know, even after Pac died.
- 57:17He put out at least seven more albums after he died.
- 57:25Biggie put out that one double album after he died.
- 57:29But I mean, come on.
- 57:33And when I say that Pop put out seven more albums, they wasn't just whack albums.
- 57:39Some of them, you know, were better than.
- 57:41And others, you know.
- 57:42Towards the end it started to get watered down the last few albums they put out, but they still had hits on them to.
- 57:49Whereas, you know, you really can't.
- 57:51I really can't put Biggie on Pac's level.
- 57:57Yeah.
- 57:58And admittedly I'm from the Bay.
- 58:01I'm a homer.
- 58:03So I'm sure there's a lot of people from New York that would want to cut my throat because of this.
- 58:08But I gotta just gotta be keep it a hundred and let you know.
- 58:11Well, I'm glad you brought up New York because even though he's not in my top five and your top five, I understand why he is in New York's goat, and I will tell you why.
- 58:31And I'm gonna use the sports analogy.
- 58:38The Lakers was a great team.
- 58:43Right?
- 58:44All are a great team.
- 58:45Wait, hear me out.
- 58:49What was the Lakers before Shaq and Kobe got there?
- 58:55There was a great team that what.
- 58:59Fell off?
- 59:00Had some lean years.
- 59:02Yeah, he had some lean years.
- 59:04I mean, you do do to have some lean years.
- 59:08Yeah.
- 59:08And then, and then, even though Shaq started off his career in Orlando.
- 59:14He's gonna, he.
- 59:16His jersey hangs in the Raptors with the Lakers, right?
- 59:22Mm.
- 59:23Biggie is Shaq going to the Lakers for New York?
- 59:30Because if you think about the times, west coast and down south was kicking New York's ass.
- 59:42And one of the things they used to always complain about is, we the better rappers, why they selling?
- 59:49We the better rappers, why they selling?
- 59:53And it wasn't until Biggie came that, you know, New York finally got like, hey, we back with the emcee.
- 1:00:11And I tell you why.
- 1:00:15Because of Puffy.
- 1:00:18Puffy is great.
- 1:00:20And Puffy figured out why down south and west coast was selling more than east coast music.
- 1:00:30And I'll tell you why.
- 1:00:32Why?
- 1:00:33New York was always about rapping, right?
- 1:00:37And New York beats are hollow because they want you to focus on the raps.
- 1:00:47Down south is all about beats.
- 1:00:51And, and, and, and New York, you got to take a subway and walk places to get places.
- 1:01:00But down south, in, in on the west coast, we jumping in cars and we riding.
- 1:01:06And when we riding, hey man, I'm not buying 10, 12, 15 inch woofers to hear you rap.
- 1:01:15I'm buying that stuff to hear I beat.
- 1:01:19Now y' all coming with these little hollow ass little beats trying to force us to listen, huh?
- 1:01:28It was all about the boom boom bap stuff.
- 1:01:31But hey, man, I got 46 by nines in my back speaker in my back window.
- 1:01:38You remember that?
- 1:01:40Yeah, I got four six by nines and I want to hear some beat, right?
- 1:01:47So what made Puffy great, he figured out, oh, let me go, let me put Biggie on some tight ass beats.
- 1:02:00Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:01And that's what he did.
- 1:02:02But pete, one thing, 46 by nines would not have you slumping, bro.
- 1:02:09Tens, twelves, 15, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:02:15You got four six by nine.
- 1:02:17What a six by six by nines was the highs.
- 1:02:20And then you know, you got your, you got your woofers in your, in.
- 1:02:23Your trunk, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:02:25Beating down the truck.
- 1:02:27What, what your Bay Area dude say?
- 1:02:30Too short.
- 1:02:32Got the beats beating down the trunk.
- 1:02:34Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:35Sound like you got a gorilla in the trunk, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:02:41Now the next person I have on my list could be some people's goat, depending on your age.
- 1:02:48This guy is definitely one of the pioneers in rap.
- 1:02:51I started off in an era.
- 1:02:53He started off in an era when the DJ was the main attraction.
- 1:02:58But this guy quickly outshined the dj.
- 1:03:01The first album and the song everyone Knows is paid in full by Eric B, the dj.
- 1:03:08But Rakim was the man with the microphone in his hand.
- 1:03:13Even though microphone.
- 1:03:14Even though Rakim is an Aquarius, he has three planets in Virgo, Pluto, Jupiter and Uranus.
- 1:03:24Three or more planets in a house or sign is what is called a stallion.
- 1:03:28It's a large concentration of energy which he has his Mercury ruled, which he has in a Mercury ruled sign.
- 1:03:37Pluto is the planet of transformation.
- 1:03:40Uranus is strange and unusual.
- 1:03:42Jupiter is expansion.
- 1:03:44When Rakim hit the scene, he changed the game.
- 1:03:48His strange and unusual way of rhyming and how he would even say them, no one was like him.
- 1:03:56He also transformed the game Pluto because you couldn't be coming with some nursery soda pop ass rhymes anymore.
- 1:04:06Last thing about Rakim, he was a Capricorn moon.
- 1:04:10One of the things about Capricorn, Capricorn represents military.
- 1:04:15If you listen to Rakim, although he was flowing and saying some dope ass shit, at times, he could sound like a military drill sergeant with his delivery and his cadence.
- 1:04:27What's your thoughts about Rakim?
- 1:04:33For the longest time, Rakim was my number one rapper ever.
- 1:04:39And honestly, I didn't think.
- 1:04:41And I still feel guilty that he's not my number one anymore because he was just.
- 1:04:49He was just so.
- 1:04:52He's the quintessential mc.
- 1:04:55Like, when I think of an emcee, it's him, you know what I mean?
- 1:05:02The way he carried himself, his voice.
- 1:05:05Like, remember how we talked about Busta Rhymes and how he was Rah?
- 1:05:11Yeah.
- 1:05:11Like, Rakim was the exact opposite.
- 1:05:15And here's the thing that a lot of.
- 1:05:18I think a lot of these young cats could take from Rakim is that you never heard Rakim say, he'll shoot somebody or he'll sell dope or he was hard or he was a thug or he was a gangster.
- 1:05:35But you just felt it, you know what I mean?
- 1:05:42Like, if you were in a room with Rakim, you know, he ain't no punk, he ain't no joke, as he was saying.
- 1:05:52And a lot of these cats today, they brag about this and they brag about that.
- 1:05:57Oh, I'm a G, I'm a pimp, I'm this, I'm that.
- 1:06:01He didn't never say none of that, but you knew that he wasn't no punk just by the way that he carried himself, you know what I mean?
- 1:06:10He wasn't no joke.
- 1:06:12And that's the thing about Rakim.
- 1:06:13He's one of my top MCs ever.
- 1:06:15Like I say, I still feel Guilty that he's not.
- 1:06:18And it goes back to the biggie thing.
- 1:06:22At a certain point, you just run out of songs.
- 1:06:25Like if you going song for song with some of these cats in my top five, then you just run out of songs.
- 1:06:32He's just as talented as anybody.
- 1:06:35In my top five, he is my number three, right behind Pac and Nas.
- 1:06:41But like I say, for the longest time he was my number one.
- 1:06:46And I didn't think anybody would ever take his place.
- 1:06:50I would just say this, you know that comment that I just made about New York and Puffy bringing New York back, you know?
- 1:07:04Well, Rakim.
- 1:07:08One thing about Rakim is when he was with Eric B, he always had some dope ass beats.
- 1:07:17I don't know what happened to him.
- 1:07:20It was the.
- 1:07:21The.
- 1:07:22Huh?
- 1:07:23Right?
- 1:07:23They fell out.
- 1:07:24Yeah.
- 1:07:26Oh, Rakim and Eric B, they fell out, you know.
- 1:07:30But that's definitely when he was at his best, was he had the rhymes and Eric B.
- 1:07:38Had the beats.
- 1:07:40The jazzy, funky beats, you know what I mean?
- 1:07:43And the samples and the cutting and the scratching, it all together, it was like hip hop, Nirvana, especially that first album, Bruh Paid in Full.
- 1:07:56I mean, that's like the classic of all classes.
- 1:08:00Would you say he changed the game?
- 1:08:03Absolutely, he did.
- 1:08:04See, the thing about Rakim was like, if you listen to rhymes about that time, Rakim came out with a whole different approach.
- 1:08:13Like around that time, the people that was popular was Run dmc, you know, all of the ll, all of these guys who rhyme loud and fast and you know what I mean, it was all about energy.
- 1:08:28Well, Rakim, it was all about his words and his vocal tone.
- 1:08:35Like, I heard a.
- 1:08:36I heard a interview with him one time, and he said that he tried to use his voice as an instrument, you know what I mean?
- 1:08:46Almost like a saxophone.
- 1:08:48And if you listen to him rhyme, it's like a saxophone.
- 1:08:51Like, it's not loud like a trumpet or the drums or something like that.
- 1:08:56It's smooth and it's jazzy and it's.
- 1:09:00It's not all loud and overbearing, you know what I mean?
- 1:09:04It's just smooth and then his flow, like the words that he put together.
- 1:09:09Nobody ever did it like that.
- 1:09:11The only person at that time that I could compare him to is Big Daddy Kane.
- 1:09:16Because Big Daddy Kane had that same understated flow.
- 1:09:20Like he wasn't yelling and doing all of this stuff.
- 1:09:22He let his words have the smooth operator.
- 1:09:29What did you say?
- 1:09:30He broke up?
- 1:09:31Let's say Big Daddy King Smooth Operator.
- 1:09:37The song Smooth Operator.
- 1:09:39And both of them, you know.
- 1:09:41Yeah, that, that, that.
- 1:09:43That song could describe both of them.
- 1:09:45They were smooth operators.
- 1:09:47That's why I say I would love to see.
- 1:09:51I would.
- 1:09:52I would pay.
- 1:09:52Pay per view to see Big Daddy Kane battle Rakim.
- 1:10:02That would be a hell of a battle.
- 1:10:05I think it'll go on all night.
- 1:10:07Well, well, maybe MTC gonna have to put that together.
- 1:10:13You know, hopefully down the road, I'll be able to put together some shit.
- 1:10:21Which is interesting because in your rant just now, you brought up my next guy.
- 1:10:34Now, if you're asking me, Paul, if you ask me, Paul, who's in my top five?
- 1:10:40This guy would be in my top five.
- 1:10:43Now, I know he won't make most people's top 15, but he makes mine.
- 1:10:50And this is my show, damn it.
- 1:10:52So I'm putting them in my list.
- 1:10:55Now I'm about to date myself.
- 1:10:59Way back in the year 1985, I was in the eighth grade.
- 1:11:03I got my first record player for Christmas.
- 1:11:06With that record player, my mom gave me some 45 single.
- 1:11:10And I want to say it was a new edition song, like Candy Girl or something, but I have an older brother who's four and a half years older than.
- 1:11:19And so.
- 1:11:21And that was my brother's senior year in high school.
- 1:11:26So I actually been in rap for a long time because, you know, little brother always listens to what big brother listens to, right?
- 1:11:35So Christmas night comes, and my brother's best friend, Joe Burnett, the guy who actually taught me how to throw a curveball, he come over to the house with this album in his hands.
- 1:11:46We put that album on my brand new record player.
- 1:11:50Oh, I forgot.
- 1:11:51It was the record player with the dual cassette on the bottom.
- 1:11:57After we played this record, you know, we went straight to the store to buy a blank tape.
- 1:12:07So you can record.
- 1:12:07You know how we do.
- 1:12:11And so I put this record on, and the first thing that came out the speakers was, LL Cool J is hard as hell.
- 1:12:19I battle anybody.
- 1:12:21I don't care.
- 1:12:21You tell.
- 1:12:22I excel.
- 1:12:23They all fail.
- 1:12:25I'm gonna crack shells.
- 1:12:26Double L, rocks, Bells.
- 1:12:28Oh, my God.
- 1:12:30You know, it might be why he's in my top five, you know?
- 1:12:35Another reason I'm, you know, impressed with LL is because throughout his whole career, LL never really use cuss words or the N word, all in his rhyme.
- 1:12:49LL is a Virgo rising with three planets and another.
- 1:12:55Wait.
- 1:12:56LL is a Virgo rising and he has three planets in Virgo.
- 1:13:01Ll is actually a Capricorn sun in the fifth house.
- 1:13:06The fifth house is the Leo house.
- 1:13:07And out of Leo energy comes actors.
- 1:13:12Although LL became famous off of rapping, he eventually transitioned into acting.
- 1:13:20Remember earlier when talking about Rakim, I said capricorn represents can be like military, government, structure.
- 1:13:29Well, LL has played in many movies, but one of his main characters on TV show is a cop.
- 1:13:39Capricorn, what's your thoughts on ll?
- 1:13:48So my first time seeing LL was on Crush Group, and he busting in a studio, in the office and just said, box.
- 1:14:02And Jam Master J stood up like he was gonna shoot him.
- 1:14:05Like we said, ain't no.
- 1:14:06We ain't taking no more people today.
- 1:14:07No more auditions, no more box.
- 1:14:11Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:13And then, bam.
- 1:14:14He just started to flow.
- 1:14:15And I was amazed.
- 1:14:17Like, his energy probably is the thing that got me.
- 1:14:21But that beat was cold.
- 1:14:23And his energy and his lyrics.
- 1:14:26At that point, I had to have a LL record.
- 1:14:33I had to have it, and I didn't know where to get it because a lot of people don't understand.
- 1:14:39You know, today you could get music anywhere, like hip hop.
- 1:14:43You could get it anywhere.
- 1:14:44You could get it on itunes, Apple.
- 1:14:46I mean, back then they had record stores, and the record stores wasn't selling a lot of hip hop back then, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:14:58I didn't know where to find this.
- 1:15:00This song, this guy, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:15:05So it took me like, a couple months before I was even able to figure out how to get this shit.
- 1:15:11But once I got it, I listened to it over and over and over and over, memorized it, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:15:20It was one of the.
- 1:15:22Just like we said, Rakim changed the game.
- 1:15:26LL changed the game.
- 1:15:27At that point.
- 1:15:28He became a dude.
- 1:15:29Because at that point, it was all about Run dmc, You know what I'm saying?
- 1:15:34But LL came and he came out hard.
- 1:15:37He was a solo artist, and he came out hard.
- 1:15:40And he dominated the charts for, like, his next three albums.
- 1:15:44Like, LL was the coldest one.
- 1:15:47I mean, who.
- 1:15:47Who, who comes out and names that album?
- 1:15:50I'm bad, I'm bad His hat is like a shark's fin I'm glad you.
- 1:15:58Brought that song up, because I'm.
- 1:16:03I'm a bring the audience in to something really personal right about, man.
- 1:16:09LL was.
- 1:16:10I loved LL so much that he had.
- 1:16:14In his rhymes, I'm the pinnacle that means I reign supreme I'm notorious I crush you like a jelly bean I'm.
- 1:16:23Bad.
- 1:16:25And my senior year, I was playing football and I had a shirt and it had Pinnacle on it.
- 1:16:33And I wore that shirt every football game.
- 1:16:41Yeah, you want to be cynical?
- 1:16:42Yeah.
- 1:16:44Cause when I, when I, when I stepped on that field, I was ready to reign supreme, you know, I was about to run over somebody, do something, do some damage, you know, Nobody can rap quite like I can.
- 1:16:58I tell him, must have bound man to put his face in the sand, man.
- 1:17:02And that's the truth.
- 1:17:03How you say?
- 1:17:04He really didn't cuss a lot, you know, which nobody did back when he came out.
- 1:17:09That was kind of before the real cussing era.
- 1:17:12But that's when you show your lyricism, your vocabulary, your mental capacity is when you can get your point across without all of that cussing and stuff, you know, and that's what he did.
- 1:17:34Like, he was one of the most precise lyricists.
- 1:17:38Like he could, he had spit around, let you know exactly, you know, what he was thinking, how he was feeling.
- 1:17:46He would paint a picture for you with his words.
- 1:17:49And that's how, you know, he, that's why he was one of the best.
- 1:17:55What would you put him?
- 1:17:56Is he in, in your top five?
- 1:17:5810?
- 1:18:00Not in my top five.
- 1:18:03And it kind of for that, for to be in my top five.
- 1:18:06It all kind of goes back to body of work.
- 1:18:08Like he's just as talented.
- 1:18:11But like I say, when you start going song for song, at some, at a certain point, LL runs out of songs.
- 1:18:21So these other guys that are in my top five, keep going, going.
- 1:18:24I would put them in my top 10, though.
- 1:18:27All right, all right.
- 1:18:30Which gets us to the last rapper of the night.
- 1:18:36Now I talked about, I talked about rappers from west coast and I talked about rappers from New York.
- 1:18:52So let's bring it down south.
- 1:18:54When putting a top list together, depending on the region, you're asking the question, you will get different names.
- 1:19:02But if you come down south and ask for a top five rappers list, this guy is probably going to be in the top five of most Southerners list.
- 1:19:14This guy was part of a Grammy winning duo who had smash hits.
- 1:19:20The group is Outcast.
- 1:19:22The rapper is Andre 3000 and he is a Gemini.
- 1:19:273000 is a Capric.
- 1:19:28He also has a Capricorn moon just like Rakim.
- 1:19:32And he has a, he has a, a sergeant type delivery as well, you know, a cadence as well.
- 1:19:45What's interesting to me, although 3,000 is considered one of the best to touch the mic, he just mysteriously up and quit.
- 1:19:54It is said that the north node points to what our soul wants to do this lifetime.
- 1:20:00And the south node is what we're trying to walk away from.
- 1:20:043000'S south node is in Gemini, which would put his north node in the opposite sign, which would be Sagittarius.
- 1:20:16Sagittarius rules higher learning and philosophy, which would be like spirituality can fall up underneath that umbrella.
- 1:20:26As you saw, from the time Andre stepped on the scene with Players ball to the time he hung up the mic, his rhymes got more and more spiritual.
- 1:20:373000 has a Saturn next to his Venus in Cancer, a Malefic next to a benefic he has.
- 1:20:50He was in a highly publicized relationship with another famous singer, Erykah Badu.
- 1:20:57The interesting thing about Erykah Badu is she's a Sag rising with three planets in Sag.
- 1:21:05If you watch her and listen to her, she just exudes spirituality.
- 1:21:12We can say although this relationship was great for sparking his spirituality, the relationship probably had an emotional challenge for him and might be the reason why he.
- 1:21:25The relationship ended and he ended his rap career.
- 1:21:32Any thoughts about 3003 Stacks?
- 1:21:37If I'm not mistaken, me and Three Stacks had the same birthday.
- 1:21:40Is he May 27th?
- 1:21:45I'm not sure.
- 1:21:46I don't know exactly what the date was.
- 1:21:48I didn't actually put it in.
- 1:21:50Yeah.
- 1:21:50But I think we share the same birthday.
- 1:21:54Three stacks definitely one of the best, like, natural MCs.
- 1:21:59It just comes so easy for him, you know, he.
- 1:22:06I didn't have him in my top five, and that's another one.
- 1:22:10And that's one of the things that make the.
- 1:22:14The conversation about the top five so difficult is that it's so many like top level MCs.
- 1:22:22Like, how do you.
- 1:22:24How do you pick your top five?
- 1:22:27Because, like, I could put him like five 1A or.
- 1:22:31You know what I mean?
- 1:22:32Because he's just that cold.
- 1:22:34Like I say, he's just as talented as everybody else on my list, but he.
- 1:22:43The thing about Three Stacks is that he's just so.
- 1:22:48He flows like water.
- 1:22:50He's one of those guys who.
- 1:22:51You could give him the mic, he could rap all night off the top of his head.
- 1:22:56You know what I mean?
- 1:22:56He don't have to write nothing down.
- 1:22:59It just comes so easy to him.
- 1:23:01He's like.
- 1:23:02Like a natural mc.
- 1:23:04Like he.
- 1:23:05And that's really not common in the South.
- 1:23:09Like to have somebody that cold on the mic, I mean.
- 1:23:13And really I don't want to even put the south on it because it don't matter where you from, you can really flow.
- 1:23:18But a lot of guys from the south don't put that much emphasis on their words like he does, you know what I mean?
- 1:23:27Everything that he says in a rhyme has substance, you know what I mean?
- 1:23:35You don't.
- 1:23:35I mean, except for maybe that first album and maybe Players Ball, you know, everything else has substance, and it doesn't come off as preachy, really.
- 1:23:54You're just kind of amazed at his lyricism, you know what I mean?
- 1:23:59How he can flow and say.
- 1:24:03The way that he puts these words together is very unique and his perspective is very unique.
- 1:24:13Like, he doesn't say.
- 1:24:15He doesn't talk about the things that all these other rappers talk about, and he doesn't.
- 1:24:20He may approach the same topic, but he puts it in a unique way that makes you stand up and pay attention.
- 1:24:28He's one of the most unique MCs that you're gonna find, you know what I mean?
- 1:24:32As far as.
- 1:24:33Even his style and his.
- 1:24:36His words that he uses, could you.
- 1:24:39See the switch to him going more spiritual?
- 1:24:44Yeah.
- 1:24:45And funny enough that you mentioned Erykah Badu, it kind of happened after that video, when she came out with that video that he was in, you know, and everybody was like, oh, he got a baby by Erykah Badu,
- 1:25:02you know, and he's dating Erica Badu.
- 1:25:04And after that, I could see the change in him.
- 1:25:08Yeah, yeah, she opened.
- 1:25:11It was like she opened up a gate for.
- 1:25:14Funny that you mentioned Erica Badu.
- 1:25:17Why is that?
- 1:25:18Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:25:21She opened up.
- 1:25:24She showed him and introduced him and kind of opened him up to what?
- 1:25:30His north.
- 1:25:32No, his soul kind of wanted to gravitate toward, you know, more he learned.
- 1:25:38And the more he.
- 1:25:40He got into it, the more he wanted to walk away from the rapping seemed trivial, you know?
- 1:25:47Well, I don't.
- 1:25:48I don't think it seemed trivial.
- 1:25:50I just think the game.
- 1:25:52The game, the game.
- 1:25:53Right.
- 1:25:54The business end of it became an irritation to him, you know what I mean?
- 1:25:59Like, he was more into the art of it.
- 1:26:03Yeah.
- 1:26:05You know, as a Gemini, I can relate to that.
- 1:26:07Like, he's more into the art of it and the expression of it.
- 1:26:11And it's like the business end of it held back the art end of it, you know, because they trying to make music to make money, but he's trying to make music to express himself.
- 1:26:25Yeah.
- 1:26:26I mean.
- 1:26:27And that became a conflict, and he just walked away.
- 1:26:34Yeah.
- 1:26:35Yeah.
- 1:26:38Any Last thoughts on 3,000?
- 1:26:413,000.
- 1:26:44Just like I say, three stacks.
- 1:26:47I got the utmost respect for him as a lyricist, and I wish that he would come out with some new shit.
- 1:26:59I think everybody, even rappers, would Line up just for 3000 feature.
- 1:27:07Right.
- 1:27:09He still does some features, though.
- 1:27:12Like, I heard a couple of features from him in the last couple of years.
- 1:27:16But I want to hear, like, the Love Below.
- 1:27:19Yeah.
- 1:27:21That I think was three stacks.
- 1:27:24Just being three stacks.
- 1:27:26Yeah.
- 1:27:26The Love Below, he was singing.
- 1:27:29And that's another thing.
- 1:27:31Not just the mc, but that was.
- 1:27:33He can see.
- 1:27:35He lost some people on that, though, man.
- 1:27:38He did.
- 1:27:39But, you know, those were people who really couldn't see his vision.
- 1:27:43Like, if you listen to the Love Below, like, damn.
- 1:27:47I mean, that's just music.
- 1:27:49That's just him being music.
- 1:27:50It's not hip hop.
- 1:27:51It's not rap, per se.
- 1:27:54Like, he just got songs on there.
- 1:27:56Yeah.
- 1:27:57And just some of them is grooves.
- 1:28:00Some of them he's, you know, releasing stress.
- 1:28:03Some of them, you know, he's just tweaking, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:28:10But all of it is jamming damn near.
- 1:28:16So big ups, Teresa.
- 1:28:21So today, you know, we just went through, what, nine rappers, and I was just pointing out some of the Mercury and Virgo, Mercury, Gemini and Virgo stuff in their chart.
- 1:28:34Like I told y', all, the list just kept getting longer and longer.
- 1:28:40I could read.
- 1:28:41I'm gonna read off some names.
- 1:28:43If you want to give a one word, two word response to some of these names as I read them off, you feel free.
- 1:28:53Maybe.
- 1:28:53Okay.
- 1:28:54You know that game, Remember that game?
- 1:28:58When I say.
- 1:28:59When I say a word, say the first thing that come to mind.
- 1:29:03Let's play that game with these.
- 1:29:05This list.
- 1:29:05This last.
- 1:29:06All right.
- 1:29:07Okay.
- 1:29:10So Kanye west is a Gemini.
- 1:29:20See,.
- 1:29:25The word that comes to my mind is fucking crazy.
- 1:29:29All right, fair enough.
- 1:29:31Fair enough.
- 1:29:33I like the old Kanye.
- 1:29:35I would like to have old Kanye back.
- 1:29:37You know, it's like he came out as the people's champ, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:29:44Like, he was the down to earth brother.
- 1:29:46And every single thing that he said in his rhymes back then, he end up doing it himself, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:29:57Like, he was like.
- 1:29:58When he said in one of his rhymes, he was like, stay strong.
- 1:30:04Stay with the dude.
- 1:30:06And then when he get on, he'll leave you for a white girl.
- 1:30:09You know what I'm saying?
- 1:30:10Bam.
- 1:30:10What did he do?
- 1:30:11Soon as he got a chance, he jumped with the white girl.
- 1:30:14Not that I got anything about white folks, but it's like the second half of his career is like the flip of his.
- 1:30:22What he was talking about in the first half of his career.
- 1:30:25It's like he got money and then just Went off the deep end.
- 1:30:30Now, I will say that I think a lot of that got to do with when his mom passed.
- 1:30:35He just kind of was lost and still is lost, but he really, really, really lost me when he jumped on that bandwagon, that MAGA bandwagon.
- 1:30:5250 Cent has a Mercury.
- 1:30:53His Mercury and moon are in Gemini.
- 1:30:5750 Cent, one word.
- 1:31:00Gangster.
- 1:31:01All right, Ludicrous.
- 1:31:04Ludicrous has his son and Mercury in Virgo.
- 1:31:08Luda.
- 1:31:11The word that come to mind with Luda is entertainer.
- 1:31:15You know what I mean?
- 1:31:16He's good in the movies, but, like, you can kind of compare Luda's videos and music to Missy.
- 1:31:27He was very creative with his visual images, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:31:32And, you know, with his voice and things like that.
- 1:31:35So.
- 1:31:36Well, I say this.
- 1:31:38Creative.
- 1:31:38Creative.
- 1:31:40You know what I'm saying?
- 1:31:41Creativity is the word that comes to mind.
- 1:31:44Dmx, he has a Virgo moon, but he has a sad son, his storyteller, sad son, Virgo Moon, dms, Rough Rider.
- 1:31:54I mean, I know that's kind of cliche because that's the label that he was on, but, like, he epitomized that label.
- 1:32:04He was just a rough and tumble thug kind of cat who just didn't give a fuck, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:32:11How would you.
- 1:32:12Would you put him on as a.
- 1:32:14Great storyteller, a great, like.
- 1:32:17Nah.
- 1:32:18I can't think of any stories off the top of my head that he just, you know, blew me away with, but he.
- 1:32:29He just gave you that vibe, you know what I mean?
- 1:32:33Pain.
- 1:32:36So that the one word that I would say for him is pain.
- 1:32:40It's obvious by some of the stuff that he's done, you know, after his away from the mic and entertainment, that he's in a lot of pain.
- 1:32:50For what reason?
- 1:32:51I don't know.
- 1:32:52I don't know what happened to him, but there's a lot of pain that you feel when you listen to his music and when you pay attention to what he's done away from, you know, from the mic.
- 1:33:05This next guy you already spoke about a couple of times, you brought him up.
- 1:33:08Big Daddy King, Big Daddy Kane.
- 1:33:11The one word is smooth.
- 1:33:15I think he's a smooth lyrical brother, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:33:19It's like he could.
- 1:33:20Like, if you.
- 1:33:21It's like if they could bring a.
- 1:33:26Bring a chair on stage, he could sit in the chair and rip your ass up.
- 1:33:33Sit back in a chair like this and just rip you up with the mic, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:33:39Smooth Method Man.
- 1:33:41Gemini, Moon.
- 1:33:43Meth.
- 1:33:47Damn.
- 1:33:48One word for method is.
- 1:33:52It don't have to be one.
- 1:33:53One word.
- 1:33:54But, you know, But Math was just like, he's you.
- 1:34:01He was different, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:34:04He was different than everybody.
- 1:34:06Like, his style was different.
- 1:34:09It was like, some people try to fit in, but he tries to not fit in, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:34:15If everybody wearing their hat this way, he gonna wear his hat the other way, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:34:21His rhymes were like that.
- 1:34:24And I think that may be a reason why.
- 1:34:28I mean, some of his albums weren't commercially as successful as they should have been is because he just was different.
- 1:34:40Yeah.
- 1:34:41You know what I'm saying?
- 1:34:42Eazy E has four planets in Virgo.
- 1:34:46Easy Gangster.
- 1:34:52You know what I mean?
- 1:34:53That's all you can say about Eazy, because he was the original.
- 1:34:57I mean, even though Ice Cube was writing his rhymes, he was basically describing Eazy, you know what I mean, in his rhyme.
- 1:35:06So it's not like Eazy was fake, you know what I mean?
- 1:35:12Because Cube was writing his rhymes.
- 1:35:16Cube was.
- 1:35:18I mean, and every gangster rhymer around that time was trying to be what Eazy actually was.
- 1:35:26I'm glad you said that, because the next guy I'm about to name has four planets in Virgo, just like Eazy E.
- 1:35:34And he has Eazy E's name tatted on him.
- 1:35:39The Game.
- 1:35:41Oh, Game.
- 1:35:43Game is.
- 1:35:48Vicious.
- 1:35:52Like.
- 1:35:53Like, I don't.
- 1:35:54I don't know personally.
- 1:35:56Like, I don't know his background from.
- 1:35:58From Compton and all that, but it's like he.
- 1:36:06I don't want to call him evil, but it's like Game just seems like somebody you don't want to fuck with.
- 1:36:12You know what I'm saying?
- 1:36:14And it's funny that you brought him up because he's one of my favorite MCs as well.
- 1:36:19I got.
- 1:36:20I just made a Game, A Game playlist, and it got, like, over a hundred songs on it.
- 1:36:28Game is.
- 1:36:33Damn.
- 1:36:33I don't know.
- 1:36:34I'm at a loss for words.
- 1:36:35But, like, remember we were talking about honorable mentions?
- 1:36:41Yeah, he's one of my honorable mentions.
- 1:36:44Nobody ever puts him, like, in the upper echelon MCs, like, when you start talking about him, but if you go back and listen to his music, you gotta put him up there.
- 1:36:56And, I mean, he's still putting out music.
- 1:36:58The thing about it, a lot of people listen to somebody when they first come out, but when they ain't hot no more, they stop listening to Them.
- 1:37:08Yeah, I don't do that.
- 1:37:10Like, if you.
- 1:37:11If you was hot back then and you come out with something, I'm gonna listen to it.
- 1:37:15Yeah, it may be whack.
- 1:37:17It may be good.
- 1:37:18You know what I'm saying?
- 1:37:19It may be great.
- 1:37:20And a lot of times, Game he puts stuff out and, you know, it's not hyped up, but it's great news.
- 1:37:32Now, you know how I said Gemini is the masculine side of Mercury and Virgo is the feminine side of Mercury?
- 1:37:44Well, you know how talked about Method Man?
- 1:37:47Right, Right.
- 1:37:49And Method man was a Gemini moon?
- 1:37:51Well, even though Method man was in a super group, Wu Tang, he also, he grouped up with this other guy, Red man, who has a Virgo moon the opposite side of Gemini.
- 1:38:06I mean, the opposite sign of side of Mercury.
- 1:38:12Red Man.
- 1:38:12I think they come from together.
- 1:38:16Yeah, I think they complimented each other.
- 1:38:18Well, not only in music, but on the screen.
- 1:38:22Like, how high is one of my classic go to comedy movies.
- 1:38:28It was hilarious.
- 1:38:29And it's funny how natural everything seemed in that movie.
- 1:38:36You know what I mean?
- 1:38:37But, like, if I had to describe Redman in one word, it would be funky.
- 1:38:45Like when he first.
- 1:38:46That first album, he came out when Eric Sermon was producing all his songs.
- 1:38:51Funk Dr.
- 1:38:52Spock.
- 1:38:56This next guy has two planets in Gemini and one in Virgo.
- 1:39:01Ghostface Killer.
- 1:39:04I was just telling you the other day, like, Ghost Face is one of those honorable mention guys who could easily be in the top five.
- 1:39:13And the same things I said about when somebody's hot, people listen to him, but then they don't listen to the stuff that they put out later.
- 1:39:25He's one of those guys, like, he puts out two or three projects every year.
- 1:39:31And I'm sure 90 listen to hip hop.
- 1:39:39Never even listen to it or never even know that it's coming out.
- 1:39:42But I listen to all of it.
- 1:39:43And he.
- 1:39:44Like, you talk about storytellers.
- 1:39:47Ghostface may be the best storyteller ever on the mic because he makes complete albums with 7, 8, 9, 10 songs on them, where each song is a chapter in a story.
- 1:40:06Who does that?
- 1:40:08Have you.
- 1:40:08Do you know any other MC that has been able to do a whole album where the whole album is like a movie?
- 1:40:16Like, even if you don't like the beat, you have to listen to the song so that you can follow the story.
- 1:40:24You know what I'm saying?
- 1:40:26Ghost.
- 1:40:28Old dirty bastard has three planets in Virgo.
- 1:40:32ODB.
- 1:40:33ODB.
- 1:40:35He was never one of my favorite MCs.
- 1:40:38He was very, very different, though.
- 1:40:40And unique.
- 1:40:42And maybe that's one reason that I couldn't get with him.
- 1:40:45It was the whole.
- 1:40:48Kind of like.
- 1:40:50Kind of like Busta Rhymes.
- 1:40:52Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:40:53Exactly, exactly.
- 1:40:55So as you can see, I got a certain style of MC that I tend to like, and he kind of fell outside of that.
- 1:41:01That doesn't mean that I didn't respect him as an emcee.
- 1:41:05But, like, he.
- 1:41:08He wasn't one of my favorites.
- 1:41:09Like, I wouldn't pop in ODB CD and just jam to it.
- 1:41:13But I respect his.
- 1:41:16His talent.
- 1:41:19Daz Dillinger has four planets in Gemini.
- 1:41:22Dude, I fuck with Daz.
- 1:41:26I love Daz.
- 1:41:27His beats, along with his vocal tone.
- 1:41:31That's the thing about him.
- 1:41:32Like, he's a good lyricist, but the energy that he brings to a song makes you like the song along with the beat, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:41:44I really, really, really fuck with Daz.
- 1:41:47Wiz Khalifa has three planets in Virgo.
- 1:41:51Wiz.
- 1:41:52I like Wiz.
- 1:41:53He's like a young Snoop, you know what I mean?
- 1:41:56He's just cool with it.
- 1:41:59He might be in my book.
- 1:42:01I might put him as a young Red Man.
- 1:42:05Young Red man, see?
- 1:42:07Well, because of the weed.
- 1:42:11But I mean.
- 1:42:12I mean, be honest with you.
- 1:42:13First time I ever knew about a blunt was from Red Man.
- 1:42:17Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:42:18When Redman first came out, that's when we started smoking blunts.
- 1:42:23Yeah, yeah.
- 1:42:25But, like, just because of the lyrical content like that, their energy is not the same.
- 1:42:31To me, his energy is more like Snoop energy, laid back, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:42:36Smoking and vibing on a beat, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:42:39Where Red man was before Snoop, wasn't he.
- 1:42:43He was.
- 1:42:44But Redman's energy was.
- 1:42:46No, no, he wasn't.
- 1:42:48Yes, he was.
- 1:42:50Snoop was 90, like, 91, man.
- 1:42:57He was at the.
- 1:42:58Red man was like, 92.
- 1:42:59He was at the dorms when.
- 1:43:01When Red man came out,.
- 1:43:06I was smoking to you.
- 1:43:07We was on South White when Red man came out.
- 1:43:11Sure.
- 1:43:12We was on South White when Red man came out.
- 1:43:15Yeah.
- 1:43:15All right.
- 1:43:16I'm positive.
- 1:43:17I mean, that's back when I was making all.
- 1:43:21You know, I had all the CDs.
- 1:43:23So when Red man came out.
- 1:43:25Because you know who put us up on Redman was Kev Hazel.
- 1:43:29Oh, all right.
- 1:43:30Yeah.
- 1:43:30And he was from.
- 1:43:31Wasn't he?
- 1:43:32Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:43:36The last two people I want to mention are for the ladies.
- 1:43:43And to think about it, we haven't spoken about any females tonight.
- 1:43:50Yeah.
- 1:43:51So I don't want.
- 1:43:53I was thinking about that.
- 1:43:54Yeah.
- 1:43:54So I'm the last two.
- 1:43:56I'm gonna end with females.
- 1:43:57Lil Kim, her mercury's in Gemini.
- 1:44:01Lil Kim was vicious.
- 1:44:03Like, she was.
- 1:44:05She was like a dude rhyming, but from a chick perspective, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:44:12And it's funny, you know what I think about, like, now that I got a daughter and all of this shit.
- 1:44:18Like, I think about, like, how we listen to Too Short, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:44:26And it was like, oh, yeah, too short.
- 1:44:28But then when we listen to Lil Kim, we like, damn, she a hoe.
- 1:44:31You know what I'm saying?
- 1:44:33You a nasty bitch.
- 1:44:34Hey, do you remember her album cover?
- 1:44:37That them posters?
- 1:44:38Yeah, that's what I mean.
- 1:44:41That right there.
- 1:44:43If you can't deny the double standard, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:44:47When you look at her, at a man's reaction to her, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:44:53And then you look at a man's reaction to too short.
- 1:44:56Yeah.
- 1:44:57You know what I'm saying?
- 1:44:58Like, for sure, he was like our hero.
- 1:45:01And then she come out saying the same, but from a female perspective, and she was like our hero.
- 1:45:08It's funny.
- 1:45:08It's funny that you brought him up because that's probably one of my favorite songs that she ever did the song with him.
- 1:45:18We're too short, you're too short.
- 1:45:20It is definitely mine, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:45:23Muster hold up the rever still rolled up, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:45:30Oh, she said I'mma slip myself a Mickey.
- 1:45:37And the last person of the night we gonna end with Has a Gemini sun and her Mercury's in Gemini.
- 1:45:48Lauryn Hill.
- 1:45:51Lauryn Hill is my number one femc.
- 1:45:59Number one hands down.
- 1:46:00She's like a female Nas, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:46:04But more talented.
- 1:46:07Like, she got the singing aspect that just blows everybody else out the water.
- 1:46:12Like, I would put her up against any dude mc.
- 1:46:15There's only a couple people that I would do that with, and she's one of them.
- 1:46:21And I think she would excel against any dude, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:46:27Her lyrical, her voice, her choice of music, and then the fact that she can sing.
- 1:46:36She is my top female mc, because just like I said about my other top male MCs is the fact that she has so much substance in what she's talking about.
- 1:46:51I have a question for you.
- 1:46:53Okay.
- 1:46:54Where does she come in on the list of your top 10?
- 1:47:00Well, you.
- 1:47:02Is she in the.
- 1:47:04See, and that's the thing.
- 1:47:06Can you put it in a list with the males.
- 1:47:09That's the thing.
- 1:47:09That's what I'm getting to like.
- 1:47:11Having this conversation now.
- 1:47:14It made me realize that I really didn't have any top 10, any females in my top 10.
- 1:47:22But she definitely could be.
- 1:47:26I think she could hang.
- 1:47:28But, you know, as I say with her, it would come down to she would run out of songs if she went song for song with a lot of the guys in my top five.
