- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, coach, coming off a weekend split versus U
- 0:03Speaker 1: mess Lowell coming up, we got two home games into
- 0:06Speaker 1: scanovers ver Man. Just want to get your thoughts ahead
- 0:08Speaker 1: of the weekend series and Hockey East play.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we're going to be competing against you know,
- 0:17Speaker 2: pretty red hot Vermont team, you know, just looking at him.
- 0:23Speaker 2: They've won three in a row. They had a great
- 0:25Speaker 2: sweep against Northeastern at home, and they're also a very
- 0:29Speaker 2: good road team. You know, they've beat Saint Cloud, they've
- 0:32Speaker 2: beat you n H, They've beat Maine, and they've beat
- 0:34Speaker 2: BU on the road. So I think that they're certainly
- 0:40Speaker 2: well coached. Steve's done a nice job. They've got, you know,
- 0:45Speaker 2: some talented players up front, and you know, Richards is
- 0:51Speaker 2: one of the hotter players in the conference. I think
- 0:53Speaker 2: he has four goals in his last three games. And
- 0:56Speaker 2: Tornquist is a very talented defenseman, and Kessler as an
- 1:00Speaker 2: outstanding playmaker. So we've got to prepare for a really
- 1:06Speaker 2: good Vermont team coming in here this weekend.
- 1:13Speaker 1: All right, we'll open up for questions.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Joe d go ahead, Thanks Colin, Good morning, coach, how
- 1:18Speaker 3: are you?
- 1:19Speaker 4: I'm good? Joey yourself I'm good. Thanks good.
- 1:22Speaker 3: The response was obviously terrific on Saturday, especially, I would
- 1:26Speaker 3: think considering that you fell behind so early, guys didn't
- 1:29Speaker 3: start thinking here we go again, and they bounced back
- 1:32Speaker 3: and played really well, especially defensively.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's been our m all year.
- 1:39Speaker 2: We've fallen behind and you know, a few games and
- 1:43Speaker 2: we've been able to come back in those games. So
- 1:47Speaker 2: we've got a pretty experienced veteran group that I think
- 1:53Speaker 2: can handle those types of things. Like we understand that
- 1:56Speaker 2: it's a sixty minute game, and we've been on the
- 2:00Speaker 2: other side of it too, where we've got up in
- 2:02Speaker 2: a game and we've blown leads. So in this league,
- 2:05Speaker 2: we understand you have to play sixty minutes or you
- 2:11Speaker 2: know you're not going to be successful.
- 2:13Speaker 3: You're obviously a fast team, but for months pretty fast
- 2:17Speaker 3: as well. They skated really well against Northeastern. What do
- 2:20Speaker 3: you have to do to combat their speed?
- 2:23Speaker 2: Ah, well, A lot of that. You know, A lot
- 2:26Speaker 2: of speed is generated off of either neutral zone turnovers
- 2:32Speaker 2: or turnovers at the offensive blue line. When you do that,
- 2:37Speaker 2: you give the other team a lot of times a
- 2:40Speaker 2: chance for an odd man rush, which is never a
- 2:45Speaker 2: great recipe for success. So I think we're gonna have
- 2:48Speaker 2: to manage the puck really well, make them go two
- 2:51Speaker 2: hundred feet, you know, and that's one way to combat speed.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Thanks, sure, Randy, go ahead.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Good morning, kath How you doing this morning, Randy, I'm good. Thanks.
- 3:07Speaker 6: In that Saturday night game, it seemed that you were
- 3:11Speaker 6: able to sort of flip the script on what U
- 3:13Speaker 6: Maslow has done and play to your strengths with team speed,
- 3:17Speaker 6: Like over the course of the weekend, when in Hockey
- 3:21Speaker 6: East teams are trying to establish their identity versus your identity,
- 3:26Speaker 6: how does that change occur as far as trusting your
- 3:30Speaker 6: process and trusting your abilities.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Yeah, we never try to adapt to someone else's identity
- 3:37Speaker 2: like we try to play to ours and make them
- 3:40Speaker 2: adapt to us. So I think when we go into
- 3:44Speaker 2: a game, you know, Vermont plays a little differently than Lowell, does.
- 3:49Speaker 4: You know?
- 3:49Speaker 2: And then next week I'm sure Yale will play a
- 3:51Speaker 2: little differently than Vermont. So but the one constant can
- 3:55Speaker 2: be us and we have to really make sure that
- 3:59Speaker 2: we're playing to our identity, and I don't think we
- 4:02Speaker 2: did for the first forty minutes of the game Friday night.
- 4:06Speaker 2: But we did for a good portion of the game
- 4:09Speaker 2: on Saturday night. I thought we were able to get
- 4:12Speaker 2: back to playing the style of hockey that we want
- 4:15Speaker 2: to play.
- 4:16Speaker 6: Cam gave you a huge lift and he was tremendous
- 4:19Speaker 6: on Saturday. What is getting that first win for him
- 4:24Speaker 6: to contribute to the team do as well as you know,
- 4:26Speaker 6: perhaps spelling Tyler a little relief with a heavy schedule
- 4:30Speaker 6: moving forward.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that was huge for us.
- 4:33Speaker 2: You know, Tyler has been playing a lot of hockey
- 4:36Speaker 2: and he's been obviously fantastic for us. But Cam was
- 4:41Speaker 2: able to step in in that spot, and I know
- 4:44Speaker 2: it was wearing on him a little bit that you know,
- 4:47Speaker 2: in his previous two starts he didn't get a win,
- 4:50Speaker 2: and I know that was really big for him, especially
- 4:52Speaker 2: his confidence and mentally to get that win on Saturday night.
- 4:59Speaker 6: And finally for me, I know it was a couple
- 5:02Speaker 6: of empty net goals at the end Saturday, but some
- 5:04Speaker 6: production again from Shaehand and Joey Pop too. You know,
- 5:09Speaker 6: for Joey to get a couple there and Shaehand to
- 5:12Speaker 6: keep it going. You know, what does that do to
- 5:15Speaker 6: have a productive night Saturday going into.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you know they're both good players and
- 5:21Speaker 2: they're going to score for us, so it was nice
- 5:25Speaker 2: to see them both get a couple of goals. But
- 5:28Speaker 2: I think I'm not really worried about that. I think
- 5:31Speaker 2: they can help us win in so many different areas.
- 5:33Speaker 2: It's not just how many goals they score.
- 5:36Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, thanks, it's good for me, Thank you, coach.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Sure, go ahead, Dan, Good morning, coach.
- 5:45Speaker 4: I hope all as well. All is well, Dan, I
- 5:48Speaker 4: hope the same with you.
- 5:50Speaker 7: Yeah, man, I guess I'll start with this.
- 5:53Speaker 4: I know that.
- 5:56Speaker 7: There's been a solid corps of guys that have been
- 5:58Speaker 7: with you for a while now. How valuable is the
- 6:00Speaker 7: experience and the chemistry that they've built together over the
- 6:03Speaker 7: years to you during this time of the year where
- 6:06Speaker 7: conference plays heating up and you're trying to hit that stride,
- 6:09Speaker 7: finish up conference play well, and be where you want
- 6:11Speaker 7: to be when the postseason starts.
- 6:13Speaker 4: I think it's huge.
- 6:14Speaker 2: You know, I've alluded to it many times this year
- 6:16Speaker 2: that we're really fortunate to have seven seniors that you know,
- 6:23Speaker 2: have played a lot of hockey for us. They know
- 6:26Speaker 2: exactly what our expectations are here, they know exactly how
- 6:29Speaker 2: we want to play, and it's rare. I think that
- 6:33Speaker 2: you're going to see many teams with seven seniors going forward.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It's just the landscape of college hockey, between the transfer
- 6:41Speaker 2: portal and kids leaving early to go pro. It's just
- 6:45Speaker 2: it's rare that you're going to see that. So we're
- 6:48Speaker 2: really fortunate we're not taking it for granted. And it
- 6:50Speaker 2: certainly makes a coach's job easier when you have that
- 6:53Speaker 2: type of leadership, you know, pulling the sled.
- 7:00Speaker 7: And knowing how the landscape and college sports in general
- 7:03Speaker 7: has been all over the place in recent years, how
- 7:05Speaker 7: important is it for you to set the standard and also,
- 7:11Speaker 7: you know, have that level of success that you guys
- 7:13Speaker 7: have had to making u kon a place where you
- 7:17Speaker 7: want it to be welcoming to those guys, to make
- 7:19Speaker 7: it so that they want to be able to stay,
- 7:22Speaker 7: or that other guys from the outside might want to
- 7:24Speaker 7: come in knowing the level of success that you've had.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's really important. I think that the
- 7:31Speaker 2: one thing the transfer portal does, you know, I don't
- 7:35Speaker 2: know if the direct consequence of it, but it forces you,
- 7:42Speaker 2: you know, to run a program that kids want to
- 7:44Speaker 2: be a part of. I think it holds coaches accountable
- 7:48Speaker 2: in some ways that you know, you got to run
- 7:51Speaker 2: a program that kids feel that they're developing, they feel
- 7:54Speaker 2: that they're growing as humans and also getting better as
- 7:58Speaker 2: hockey players. And when you can do that, you can
- 8:03Speaker 2: keep players. You know, because I'm not as cynical as
- 8:09Speaker 2: many many people, and I don't believe, especially college hockey
- 8:14Speaker 2: players are in.
- 8:14Speaker 4: It all for just the money.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I believe that, you know, they just inherently want to
- 8:20Speaker 2: be at a place where they feel valued, where they
- 8:24Speaker 2: feel they're getting better and they're growing as people.
- 8:29Speaker 7: And then final thing for me coach, big picture wise,
- 8:33Speaker 7: knowing how well both Yukon hockey teams have been playing
- 8:36Speaker 7: over the last few years now and list goes on
- 8:39Speaker 7: of what you guys have been able to build there
- 8:41Speaker 7: from any hockey perspective for the men and the women.
- 8:44Speaker 7: How valuable is that because a lot of programs and
- 8:47Speaker 7: a lot of schools around the country don't have that
- 8:49Speaker 7: where both teams are ranked as highly as they are
- 8:52Speaker 7: and are as competitive as they are both at the
- 8:54Speaker 7: same time.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I just think, and I've said it many
- 8:58Speaker 2: times here, that's the culture of Yukon athletics. It's not
- 9:01Speaker 2: just unique to the hockey teams. Basketball teams are pretty
- 9:06Speaker 2: good too, and our baseball team's pretty good, and our
- 9:10Speaker 2: track and field is good. You know, there's a lot
- 9:12Speaker 2: of sports here. Field, Hockey's won a lot of national championships.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Soccers are very good. So I just think it speaks
- 9:21Speaker 2: to the you know, the culture of Yukon athletics, not
- 9:25Speaker 2: just hockey programs.
- 9:29Speaker 7: Awesome coach, Thank you, Sure, Natalie, go ahead, thank.
- 9:34Speaker 5: You, coach. Good to see you again. It's gonna see
- 9:36Speaker 5: you Natalie hoopeball as well. But yes, I just wanted
- 9:40Speaker 5: to ask a follow up about Shahan. I know you've
- 9:43Speaker 5: probably spoken about him quite a bit recently, but I
- 9:46Speaker 5: haven't been back to Yukon. So is there just an
- 9:49Speaker 5: over I don't know, maybe a quality of his that
- 9:52Speaker 5: might be overlooked at this point, or something about his
- 9:54Speaker 5: game that you think people should recognize more than maybe
- 9:57Speaker 5: don't have the coaching or the hockey eye that you do.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I think, you know, it reminds me a lot
- 10:03Speaker 2: of Joey Muldowney's breakout season last year. Joey had a
- 10:08Speaker 2: really good freshman year. He didn't put up the numbers
- 10:10Speaker 2: that he obviously he did last year, but you could
- 10:14Speaker 2: see towards the end of his freshman year that he
- 10:16Speaker 2: was going to be a player and it was only
- 10:18Speaker 2: a matter of time before he was going to score.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I feel the same way about Caden. He was at
- 10:24Speaker 2: times last year he was really dynamic, and I think
- 10:28Speaker 2: what you're seeing this year is, you know, he's from Seattle, Washington,
- 10:32Speaker 2: it's a long way from home. I think he's finally
- 10:34Speaker 2: feeling comfortable here on campus. He's acclimated to the academic
- 10:39Speaker 2: curriculum and he understands, you know, the style of play
- 10:42Speaker 2: we want to play, and the way he skates and
- 10:45Speaker 2: how physical he is. He fits our style to a
- 10:48Speaker 2: t Now you're seeing his talent and his skill take
- 10:52Speaker 2: over too. Both those goals he scored the other night,
- 10:55Speaker 2: I mean he ripped those shots. I mean those were
- 10:58Speaker 2: goals in any league. So I'm hoping to you know,
- 11:03Speaker 2: that he can continue on this trend and continue to
- 11:07Speaker 2: score at you know, a clip that I think he's
- 11:11Speaker 2: capable of. But also he affects a game now in
- 11:15Speaker 2: so many different areas. He's a tenacious four checker. He's
- 11:18Speaker 2: really coming on as a penalty killer, and as I said,
- 11:22Speaker 2: He's always been, you know, a power play guy, but
- 11:26Speaker 2: now he's you're seeing.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Him score as well.
- 11:28Speaker 2: So he's an all around player, two hundred foot player,
- 11:31Speaker 2: and I'm excited to continue to watch his growth.
- 11:35Speaker 5: Do you feel that he also can impact a game
- 11:38Speaker 5: just with his bench presence? It feels like he's one
- 11:41Speaker 5: of the guys that you know, he'll talk a lot
- 11:43Speaker 5: on the bench or maybe kind of like get the
- 11:44Speaker 5: team going a little bit. Does he also kind of
- 11:46Speaker 5: have that type of personality to impact a game?
- 11:49Speaker 2: He does, and I think it's coming out more and more.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I don't think that was necessarily the case last year. However,
- 11:57Speaker 2: he is getting more comfortable being vold, There's no question
- 12:01Speaker 2: about that. And uh, you know again, that's another area.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I think as you see players mature in college that
- 12:08Speaker 2: they get more comfortable vocalizing how they think the team
- 12:13Speaker 2: should be playing or whether it's just you know, trying
- 12:17Speaker 2: to boost some players up, encouraging different teammates, or putting
- 12:22Speaker 2: an arm around him sometimes when things don't go well.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I think he is starting to develop.
- 12:26Speaker 4: That as well.
- 12:27Speaker 5: Yes, all right, thank you very much.
- 12:29Speaker 8: Sure, Jordan, go ahead, Thank you, Colin coach, Thank you
- 12:36Speaker 8: for the time appreciate it.
- 12:37Speaker 4: I hope you're having a good day. I'm a great day.
- 12:39Speaker 4: I hope you are too. Thank you, Thank you.
- 12:42Speaker 8: Something we talked about with Vermont head coach yesterday is
- 12:45Speaker 8: their ability to take advantage on odd man rushes coming
- 12:48Speaker 8: out of their own zone. Is that something that you
- 12:51Speaker 8: and your coaching staff have kept an eye out for
- 12:53Speaker 8: with Vermont going to this game? And how do you
- 12:55Speaker 8: plan on approaching defensively to deal with a team that
- 12:58Speaker 8: is opportunistic go off the rush.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Yeah, they're very good off the rush.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Well, it's an area, like I talked about earlier, how
- 13:07Speaker 2: do you combat their speed? One area is we have
- 13:10Speaker 2: to manage the puck well. We cannot turn pucks over
- 13:13Speaker 2: and give them you know, odd man rushes where there's
- 13:18Speaker 2: three or four players into the you know, and in
- 13:20Speaker 2: the play and we get caught. So first and foremost,
- 13:23Speaker 2: I think it's managing the puck well. Also a lot
- 13:27Speaker 2: of times we've got to be able to offensively, you know,
- 13:34Speaker 2: when the puck goes low to high and we're getting
- 13:36Speaker 2: it to our defenseman. They do a pretty good job
- 13:39Speaker 2: of blocking shots. We've got to make sure that the
- 13:41Speaker 2: pucks get down on the goal line, because if pucks
- 13:44Speaker 2: gets that's another area when pucks get blocked by that
- 13:47Speaker 2: first layer, that allows them to get other players into
- 13:50Speaker 2: the rush. So those will be a couple of areas
- 13:52Speaker 2: where we'll try to mitigate those situations.
- 13:55Speaker 8: And then just to continue on that point, shots from
- 13:59Speaker 8: the blue line. Would you see your group maybe this
- 14:01Speaker 8: weekend if the SHOT's even not there, just getting the
- 14:04Speaker 8: puck off the end boards, just to get that punk
- 14:06Speaker 8: through to avoid that first shot being blocked.
- 14:09Speaker 4: No question.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I mean that's an emphasis every week. We really try
- 14:13Speaker 2: to and it's something that Tyler Helton works on with
- 14:16Speaker 2: our defenseman all the time of making sure that the puck,
- 14:20Speaker 2: Like if you have a lane to the net, great
- 14:23Speaker 2: rip it. But sometimes you don't even have to shoot
- 14:25Speaker 2: it on net. Maybe you shoot for a stick. But
- 14:28Speaker 2: the one thing is you cannot pound pucks into shin pads.
- 14:32Speaker 4: That's just.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Never really usually ends well for you when that happens.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Thank coach, Just those two quick right off the top,
- 14:41Speaker 4: thank you. Yep, anything else.
- 14:45Speaker 9: For coach guys, Yeah, let me jump in as well.
- 14:48Speaker 9: Hey coach, this is this is Kevin Gale. Look forward
- 14:51Speaker 9: to seeing you guys this weekend. Just want to ask
- 14:54Speaker 9: you about a couple of individual players. You were talking
- 14:56Speaker 9: about some guys maturing over time as they get their experience.
- 15:00Speaker 9: Have you seen Tyler grow into his role since making
- 15:03Speaker 9: the jump from U n H. I mean, his numbers
- 15:05Speaker 9: have been outstanding, but what have you seen that is
- 15:07Speaker 9: that has taking him up to this level?
- 15:09Speaker 4: Well, I just think he's put in a lot of
- 15:11Speaker 4: time and work on his game.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I think the one area of his game that's really
- 15:17Speaker 2: improved is controlling rebounds and being very efficient in his movements.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I don't you don't see him, you know, scrambling all
- 15:26Speaker 2: over the net, you know, trying to make acrobatics saves.
- 15:30Speaker 2: He's technically pretty sound and he's done a lot of work.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Last year he worked a lot with Vince Stiletti on that,
- 15:37Speaker 2: and then this year with Alex Westland. I think he's
- 15:39Speaker 2: even taken his game to another level.
- 15:43Speaker 9: When you look at the offensive production for your team
- 15:46Speaker 9: this year, what do you think is the key in
- 15:49Speaker 9: terms of structuring? We talked a little bit about the speed,
- 15:52Speaker 9: but when did you have an idea that this group
- 15:55Speaker 9: could be so offensively explosive?
- 15:58Speaker 4: Uh?
- 16:01Speaker 2: I did more than being offensively explosive, I guess I
- 16:05Speaker 2: was more surprised at how balanced our scoring would be.
- 16:09Speaker 2: You can look at every one of our lines. I
- 16:12Speaker 2: believe they all have double over double digits and goals
- 16:15Speaker 2: and when you look at the guys on our lines,
- 16:18Speaker 2: so we have a lot of balance scoring on our team,
- 16:23Speaker 2: which is it's fun to coach a team like that,
- 16:28Speaker 2: especially when you go on the road where you don't
- 16:30Speaker 2: you have you know, you don't have the last change,
- 16:33Speaker 2: so you're not really worried about matchups because I have
- 16:37Speaker 2: a lot of confidence in all four lines that we
- 16:40Speaker 2: play that not only can they defend against another team's
- 16:44Speaker 2: top line, but they can also exploit them offensively. So
- 16:49Speaker 2: that's probably the more important to me than you know,
- 16:55Speaker 2: having maybe one explosive line or two lines that can score.
- 16:59Speaker 2: It's that we have four pretty balanced lines that can
- 17:02Speaker 2: hurt you if you're not going to play well defensively.
- 17:06Speaker 9: And who do you feel like has has really set
- 17:08Speaker 9: a tone for you defensively? You know, who are the
- 17:12Speaker 9: guys that you can really rely on along that blue line.
- 17:16Speaker 4: I'm a blue line. You know.
- 17:17Speaker 2: It starts with Viking. I think he's you know, he's
- 17:22Speaker 2: got to be in the conversation for the best defensive
- 17:26Speaker 2: defenseman in the league, There's no question about it. But
- 17:30Speaker 2: you know, we're getting great contributions also from Thomas Sineo.
- 17:33Speaker 2: He's a great shutdown defenseman. Kai Jian Veriah has taken
- 17:37Speaker 2: a great, really big jump defensively, He's been out there
- 17:41Speaker 2: quite a bit. Brendan Dunfie's come in done a nice job.
- 17:44Speaker 2: And then you know Anthony Elaine Samaki and you know
- 17:48Speaker 2: Tray Scott is certainly his calling card is probably offense,
- 17:52Speaker 2: but he's improved his defense. And Anthony's a kid. He's
- 17:56Speaker 2: he's the youngest kid on our team, and you know
- 17:59Speaker 2: he he's a kid that has the potential to play,
- 18:02Speaker 2: you know, in the NHL in a couple of years
- 18:04Speaker 2: for sure.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 18:06Speaker 9: Just a couple more for me, coach, I wanted to
- 18:08Speaker 9: ask you about your special teams and Tabor heat slip.
- 18:12Speaker 9: It seems like he's one of the best penalty killers
- 18:15Speaker 9: and sort of a grinder guy. What have you seen
- 18:19Speaker 9: from his game this season and how's he delivering on
- 18:21Speaker 9: that unit for you?
- 18:24Speaker 4: He's been invaluable.
- 18:25Speaker 5: He is.
- 18:25Speaker 2: He and Jake Percival are the first two over the
- 18:27Speaker 2: boards when it comes to a penalty kill, He's good
- 18:31Speaker 2: on face offs, Tabor, He's the heart and soul of
- 18:33Speaker 2: the team.
- 18:34Speaker 4: There's no question about it. Nice you talk.
- 18:36Speaker 2: About someone who's vocal, like he doesn't stop, whether it's
- 18:40Speaker 2: in practice or in a game. He's continually you know,
- 18:45Speaker 2: has a voice on this team.
- 18:50Speaker 9: What has to be key for your Special Teams units
- 18:53Speaker 9: going into this weekend? I wanted to ask you about specifically,
- 18:57Speaker 9: you know, how to maximize power play opportunities and how
- 19:00Speaker 9: you guys have tinkered with those two units to try
- 19:02Speaker 9: and maximize it.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the key one is make sure we're
- 19:08Speaker 2: not taking too many penalties. I think it's really hard
- 19:13Speaker 2: to be successful on special teams if you have to
- 19:16Speaker 2: kill six penalties in a game, you know, five or
- 19:19Speaker 2: six penalties in a game. I just think you're asking
- 19:22Speaker 2: for trouble if that's the case. And on top of it,
- 19:25Speaker 2: you know, we have some penalty killers that are also
- 19:27Speaker 2: on the power play. So you know, if Special teams
- 19:31Speaker 2: are six penalties, you know you have to kill six
- 19:33Speaker 2: and then you go on the power play for six,
- 19:36Speaker 2: guys get tired and you know that that becomes a problem.
- 19:41Speaker 2: So I'd like to limit you know, Special Team opportunities.
- 19:46Speaker 2: If we can keep our penalty kill at two or three,
- 19:50Speaker 2: that's ideal for us. And you know, on the power play,
- 19:55Speaker 2: I think it's more just about playing with pace. We
- 19:59Speaker 2: have to deliver pucks to the net. Get pucks to
- 20:02Speaker 2: the net. The one thing that the penalty kill can't
- 20:06Speaker 2: really set.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Up for is rebounds.
- 20:10Speaker 2: You know, you have a lot of when a puck
- 20:12Speaker 2: whether you're in a one three one, whether you're in
- 20:14Speaker 2: an overload, whether you're in a two three, they they
- 20:20Speaker 2: know how to line up and adjust and h scheme
- 20:26Speaker 2: to defend that. But when a puck gets delivered to
- 20:30Speaker 2: the net and there's a rebound, that's when the penalty
- 20:33Speaker 2: kill can get out of whack or out of sorts,
- 20:35Speaker 2: and that's when you can take advantage of them. So
- 20:38Speaker 2: we've got to get more pucks to the net, there's
- 20:39Speaker 2: no question about that.
- 20:42Speaker 9: Great And then just lastly to wrap it up, if
- 20:44Speaker 9: you had to set three keys to maximize the weekend
- 20:46Speaker 9: against UVM, what are the three things your team has
- 20:49Speaker 9: to do.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I think we have to, uh for sure, limit odd
- 20:55Speaker 2: man rushes. You know, you know, we want to keep
- 21:00Speaker 2: the odd man rushes to three or fewer in a game.
- 21:02Speaker 2: That would be one thing. I think we've got to
- 21:06Speaker 2: get a lot of pucks to the net. Offensive zone
- 21:10Speaker 2: time is one thing, but you know, possession without getting
- 21:14Speaker 2: penetration towards the net and pucks to the net is useless.
- 21:19Speaker 2: So we've got to make sure we're getting pucks to
- 21:21Speaker 2: the net, and we're certainly gonna have to stay disciplined
- 21:23Speaker 2: and stay out.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Of the box.
- 21:25Speaker 9: Awesome, Thank you, coach, appreciate it.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Awesome everyone, thanks for joining Coach, Thank you, good luck
- 21:33Speaker 1: this weekend.

- 21:36Speaker 7: Take care
