  [SPEAKER_00]: One thing I just kind of started grinding my gears over this last week as it seems like multiple outlets now predicting the Houston Texans to be the AFC Super Bowl representative.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and talking about, you know, how good their defense is, which it is, and how much better their offense can be, which remains to be seen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And it just, and then all the offseason talk with the Jaguars has been like, can the offense sustain?

  [SPEAKER_00]: How do they replace Travazetean and Ventral Miller?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's like the big story lines around the league.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Why are people not talking more about the Jaguar's defense?

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's my question.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Why are people not fired up about the Jaguar's defense?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I strongly think the Jaguars are going to have at worst-day top 10 defense, at best-day top 5 to 7 defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that they could legitimately be there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then you combine that with the offense, which I think will be, again, easily top 10, maybe top 5.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you have two top 10 units, plus elite special teams, that is a recipe for winning a lot of football games and potentially winning games in January when they count, when it's winter, go home, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, why is no one talking about the Jaguar?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I understand people not talking about special teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody talks about special teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that is a ridiculous, it's ridiculous that no one talks about special teams, but,

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's like a different conversation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not talking about the Jaguar's defense is wild to me.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So just if you're just talking about like what happened last year, numbers wise, the Jaguar's defense best run defense in football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And yes, run defense does matter because when you stop the run.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Opposing teams have to go away from it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can start hunting a little bit from a turnover standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can start forcing them into this advantageous down in distances, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Opponents only average 85.6 yards per game on the ground against the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And they carry that into the playoffs against the bills against the NFL's leading Russia.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The next closest team was the Broncos at 91.1.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they were a significant chunk ahead of everyone.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then you look at their past defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It was more middle of the pack last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: 218 yards for a game allowed through the air.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've talked about why I think that's going to improve dramatically.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Two words, Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Replacing Greg Newsom.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You also have the idea that the health of Travelling Walker and Eric Armstead and the depth that they have added to that group this year should help when it comes to past rush.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hinddown's been getting after it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then points per game, they were a top 10 unit all year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like they were good, they were very good at not allowing their opponents to score a whole lot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Part of that was the offense, putting up points, part of that was the offense sustaining drives.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The offense, despite how explosive it was in the past game, they didn't have those 30, 40, 50 yard pass plays.

  [SPEAKER_00]: very consistently that really obviously accelerated the time of the drive like, you know, strength the time of the drive, but also just made offense easier.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They didn't have as much of that, but I think that that was probably to the Jaguar's defenses benefit because they were getting plenty of time to rest with some of these long methodical drives.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Campanila is back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That is one of the most underrated storylines in football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Camp, he did get some flowers around the league by different coaches in such last year, but like.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anyone was more dynamic as a playcaller in Schemer than Anthony Campanilla last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that gets swept under the rug.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone likes to focus on his raw raw, his, you know, leadership, his attitude, jerseys, Italian, all that stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But this guy beyond just that kind of caricature of him, he is a brilliant Schemer in playcaller on defense of my opinion.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He met Mary's a super diverse defensive front alignment, like he will run all of the different defensive fronts that really have given teams problems over the last, like 20, 30 years.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that makes it confusing for

  [SPEAKER_00]: Potential Blitz ID, it makes it confusing for just past pro assignment soundness for the offensive line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It makes it confusing for the quarterback, not necessarily knowing who's coming, who's dropping, all that stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then on the back end, you have a group that less at corner, more at safety and linebacker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: you're getting post-snap coverage rotations.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that combined with how confusing the defensive front can be at times, when you have personnel, which, again, I hate to just slam Greg Newsom.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He just wasn't a good fit in Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter replacing Greg Newsom, Buster Brown being back, Antonio Johnson, Eric Murray, Kayla Branson, et cetera, at lineback or foil, Luke and Ventral Miller, like,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I really think that's gonna play, and I think it's gonna feel so much more suffocating.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there's going to be some completions that are easy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if you try to take quick game completions consistently against Buster Brown and Travis Hunter and Off coverage, you're gonna end up getting intercepted.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna jump.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like they're gonna jump throughout eventually.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, and they're gonna get their hands on the football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I really think this Jack's defense is going to be a force to be reckoned with and everybody talks about the offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody talks about, can the offense sustain, can the offense be as good with their offensive line question marks, which I think can be a little overstated.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The biggest question mark is Cole Van Linnon's health.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If he's healthy, I think the offense of lines good to go.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then the other biggest question a lot of people ask about is the running game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think they've done a lot to improve the running game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, Chris Rodriguez, the success rate king.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a good tackle breaker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's got good vision in pace He runs well against heavy boxes, low to box.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's like all these things kind of stack up And then bashed two and I think I can do a lot of the travesy T and stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then Lee Quint Allen is still Lee Quint Allen as that third down back and then you have I think and improved

  [SPEAKER_00]: emphasis and, you know, coaching for the running game with Brian Picucchi coming in, who's been with Liam Cohen forever, who's been a part of a lot of good rushing attacks with Liam Cohen and don't forget Chris Rodriguez did play with Liam Cohen before, played with Liam Cohen as his offensive coordinator Kentucky.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I think the Jaguars are a very complete team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that the Jaguars defense is being completely overlooked.

  [SPEAKER_00]: probably because it's Jacksonville, probably because it's like, oh, they have an offensive head coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And they have a quarterback as a former first overall pig.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They got all these receivers, Brian Thomas Jr., et cetera, like, but this defense, you have

  [SPEAKER_00]: Two big time pass rushers at edge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have one of the best run stopping nose tackles in the game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Eric Rarm said who went healthy last year was one of the most productive into your defensive lineman in terms of getting pressures and sacks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Foyaloo can, one of the most underrated players in football regardless of position at linebacker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Ben Troll Miller, I think is very underrated as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then on the back end again, Travis Hunter, Buster Brown, Jarring Jones, Jordan Lewis,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Caleb Branson, this is a good, good group.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And there's depth, there's depth of these spots.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And Anthony Campanylei, I think, I think he should be ahead, go try now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm glad he's.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, obviously I want him to be able to, you know, push his career forward at some point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I'll just say this, I am really happy to see him on the sidelines in Jacksonville this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to see what the Jaguars can do here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're a top 10 unit on both sides of the ball plus special teams, like, easily.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's going to be top 10 on both sides of the wall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's a recipe for wins.
