Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: He Hello, friends from across the nation and around the world.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I'm Martin, and you are listening to a weekend compilation
- 0:13Speaker 1: episode of Dad's Bedtime Stories. This week, we're going to
- 0:17Speaker 1: continue with our Summer Camp Planet theme and I'm gonna
- 0:22Speaker 1: present to you the next couple Summer Camp Planet episodes
- 0:26Speaker 1: we've done in hopes that as we approach this next summer,
- 0:31Speaker 1: I get a bunch more ideas for new ones. If
- 0:34Speaker 1: you have ideas for a Summer Camp Planet episode, please
- 0:38Speaker 1: please please leave me a speak Pipe message or you
- 0:43Speaker 1: fill out the Google form. I'll check out both of those,
- 0:46Speaker 1: and if you really like hearing my voice tell stories,
- 0:50Speaker 1: please consider checking out Dad's Anytime Stories. It's a little
- 0:56Speaker 1: different than this podcast. Mainly it's not set up for
- 0:59Speaker 1: bed time, so there's no background music and that sort
- 1:02Speaker 1: of thing. But I am doing a chapter of one
- 1:07Speaker 1: of my books every single week in order, season by season,
- 1:12Speaker 1: and we are just wrapping up season one, which is
- 1:16Speaker 1: the first Cards of Power novel, so you can check
- 1:19Speaker 1: that out anywhere podcasts are distributed, and you can even
- 1:24Speaker 1: binge most of the Cards of Power audiobook at this point. Anyways,
- 1:29Speaker 1: it's now that time again, time for a possible word
- 1:33Speaker 1: from a possible sponsor. We need them to keep the
- 1:37Speaker 1: lights on around here. Now, get as comfy as you
- 1:42Speaker 1: can in then bed, close your eyes, and get ready
- 1:46Speaker 1: to enjoy a couple episodes from the Summer Camp Planet.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Imagine yourself waking up on Spaceship. You get up out
- 1:58Speaker 1: of bed and you go towards the main part of
- 2:03Speaker 1: the ship, the part with everything you'd ever need to survive.
- 2:09Speaker 1: A kitchen, a living room, a play area, a library,
- 2:14Speaker 1: and of course, a command center. You walk straight towards
- 2:19Speaker 1: the command center and look out the main view screen.
- 2:24Speaker 1: For some reason, it just looks black, completely dark. Uh,
- 2:30Speaker 1: good morning, Spaceship, you say, Good morning, Spaceship replies, is
- 2:38Speaker 1: the viewscreen broken? You ask, I don't see anything. That
- 2:45Speaker 1: is because we are currently in a void, a large
- 2:51Speaker 1: expanse of space with absolutely no stars. I expect at
- 2:58Speaker 1: least two days until we are near something interesting again.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Spaceship explains, Oh, well, I guess I'll just entertain myself,
- 3:13Speaker 1: then you say, and you try to do that. You
- 3:19Speaker 1: spend some time reading books and playing with all of
- 3:23Speaker 1: the crazy numbers of toys on Spaceship. You eat a
- 3:27Speaker 1: little breakfast, and then you sit down on the couch,
- 3:32Speaker 1: grab the remote, and start flipping through channels. Now, the
- 3:37Speaker 1: strange part about Spaceship's television is that it isn't only
- 3:42Speaker 1: connected to channels from Earth. I mean, it is connected
- 3:47Speaker 1: to channels from Earth, but it also gets channels from
- 3:51Speaker 1: all over the universe, from all different kinds of alien
- 3:56Speaker 1: planets who, at one time or another send signals out
- 4:01Speaker 1: into space. Luckily, all of the channels are automatically translated
- 4:07Speaker 1: into English. As you're flipping through channels, you suddenly see
- 4:13Speaker 1: a commercial. Come on, Welcome to the Summer Camp Planet.
- 4:19Speaker 1: The commercial says, your number one destination for a camp
- 4:25Speaker 1: for the kids and a vacation for yourselves. Choose from
- 4:32Speaker 1: thousands of different camp options. As you watch and start
- 4:37Speaker 1: to see some of the highlights of different summer camps available,
- 4:42Speaker 1: your heart longs for the Summer Camp Planet. The fun
- 4:46Speaker 1: you had there. It was a really good time, certainly
- 4:52Speaker 1: better than sitting around in a small room watching a television,
- 4:58Speaker 1: although that could be fun too. Spaceship, noticing your excitement
- 5:03Speaker 1: at the commercial, speaks up. May I make a suggestion,
- 5:09Speaker 1: Spaceship says, uh, yeah, what is it you say? You
- 5:16Speaker 1: could simply go back to the Summer Camp Planet any
- 5:21Speaker 1: time you wish. Well, we are very far away at
- 5:26Speaker 1: the moment. I took the liberty of building a miniature
- 5:31Speaker 1: portal near the entrance to the planet. You can use
- 5:37Speaker 1: the portal on the ship to travel there and back
- 5:41Speaker 1: whenever you want. Oh, that's a great idea, you say,
- 5:49Speaker 1: But won't you be lonely? I am not programmed to
- 5:54Speaker 1: become lonely. Plus, Changer will have to stay with me. Changer,
- 6:02Speaker 1: your shape shifting alien dog currently in the form of
- 6:06Speaker 1: an Earth puppy, looks up from the couch and turns
- 6:10Speaker 1: his head slightly sideways. Somehow he seems to know that
- 6:15Speaker 1: you're talking about him. Well, what about the money for
- 6:20Speaker 1: the Summer Camp Planet. It took you quite a while
- 6:23Speaker 1: to print enough gold for the last visit, you say,
- 6:28Speaker 1: I have already calculated that, spaceship replies. For the past
- 6:34Speaker 1: two weeks, I have been constantly printing money, particularly gold,
- 6:43Speaker 1: using that as a queue. Little openings slide open in
- 6:48Speaker 1: the walls and the floor, and tiny little flying robots
- 6:53Speaker 1: fly out of them, each one carrying a small chest
- 6:57Speaker 1: of gold coins. They pile the chest of gold on
- 7:02Speaker 1: the ground right beside you, and then disappear back into
- 7:08Speaker 1: the walls and the floor of the ship. Ah. Whoa,
- 7:15Speaker 1: this should certainly be enough gold, you say, looking at
- 7:20Speaker 1: the giant pile of gold chests on the ground in
- 7:24Speaker 1: front of you. Some are camps. Certainly aren't cheap, are they? Again?
- 7:31Speaker 1: I have already taken the liberty of packing as well,
- 7:35Speaker 1: Spaceship says. Another little slit in the wall opens up,
- 7:41Speaker 1: and a long robot arm carrying a duffel bag extends
- 7:45Speaker 1: out of it and drops the duffel bag right beside you.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Uh.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Thanks, you say, as you pick the duffel bag up.
- 7:57Speaker 1: You can't help but think that Spaceship is maybe trying
- 8:01Speaker 1: to get rid of you or something for a little while.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Could he want some time to himself? You shake off
- 8:09Speaker 1: that feeling and pick up the duffel bag, slinging it
- 8:14Speaker 1: over your shoulder. You look down at the pile of gold.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I will have robots deliver that, Spaceship says, looking down
- 8:25Speaker 1: at the pile as well. A long, narrow door slides
- 8:30Speaker 1: open in the center of the floor, and a gigantic,
- 8:35Speaker 1: circular portal raises up out of the thing. The portal
- 8:40Speaker 1: powers up and glows a bright blue color. You look
- 8:46Speaker 1: at spaceship one more time. Then you take a deep
- 8:50Speaker 1: breath and jump into the portal. You find yourself flying
- 8:56Speaker 1: through a wormhole, a wormhole of all different colors. Somehow,
- 9:03Speaker 1: you stay directly in the center as you wind left
- 9:07Speaker 1: and right and up and down, until eventually you pop
- 9:12Speaker 1: out the other side. You find yourself beside a little
- 9:18Speaker 1: tree tucked away hidden by some bushes, right by the
- 9:24Speaker 1: main building on the Summer Camp Planet. A group of
- 9:29Speaker 1: robots carrying a tray of gold fly out behind you.
- 9:35Speaker 1: You carefully push through the bushes and walk towards the
- 9:40Speaker 1: main building, followed by your little robots carrying the gigantic
- 9:46Speaker 1: thing of gold. As soon as you get inside, one
- 9:51Speaker 1: of the workers immediately notices the gold. Their eyes widen
- 9:58Speaker 1: a considerable amount, and they walk over to greet you. Welcome,
- 10:05Speaker 1: The woman says, I see you've decided to return to
- 10:11Speaker 1: the Summer Cap Planet. Payment in hand, after all, Well,
- 10:18Speaker 1: let me show you all of the Summer Cap options.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Screens suddenly appear all around you, a whole bunch of
- 10:29Speaker 1: tiny floating screens, each one a video of a different
- 10:36Speaker 1: Summer Camp. There's so many you don't even know what
- 10:40Speaker 1: to look at. You pass by summer camps full of ninjas,
- 10:46Speaker 1: camps of people playing instruments, camps of people cheerleading, I guess,
- 10:54Speaker 1: camps of people building battle robots. Until you set only
- 11:00Speaker 1: see a picture or a video of the cutest puppy
- 11:07Speaker 1: you've ever seen in your life. I mean, just imagine
- 11:12Speaker 1: the cutest puppy you could possibly think of, and then
- 11:17Speaker 1: make it even cuter. Fluffy, soft looking fur, giant puppy
- 11:23Speaker 1: dog eyes, and it's surrounded by all sorts of other
- 11:29Speaker 1: different pets, flying unicorns, griffins, fish that look like they're
- 11:36Speaker 1: floating in the air, and all kinds of other creatures.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Oh what's that camp, you ask, pointing at the screen. Boo,
- 11:48Speaker 1: That is an alien petcat camp, A camp designed to
- 11:54Speaker 1: teach you the ways of taking care of pets of
- 11:59Speaker 1: all different in shapes and sizes. You can care for
- 12:04Speaker 1: the pets, you can sometimes ride the pets band. Generally
- 12:11Speaker 1: you just enjoy being around very cute pets. Would you
- 12:17Speaker 1: like to check it out? Ah? Absolutely, you respond, that's
- 12:25Speaker 1: the camp that I want to go to. Very good,
- 12:30Speaker 1: The woman says, Now, will transportation be required? I noticed
- 12:38Speaker 1: you don't have a ship with you this time. Uh, yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 1: you respond, I'm definitely gonna need some way to get there.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Follow me, she says, will take care of the payment.
- 12:54Speaker 1: As the woman walks away, she makes a snapping motion
- 12:58Speaker 1: with her fingers, signaling for other workers to go and
- 13:03Speaker 1: collect the gold. Several people automatically jump to action and
- 13:09Speaker 1: carry case after case of the stuff off into the
- 13:13Speaker 1: back room. You follow the woman through a series of
- 13:18Speaker 1: doors and out onto a gigantic balcony, a balcony that
- 13:23Speaker 1: looks out on the sky. She grabs a hold of
- 13:28Speaker 1: a cord, pulls it a couple times, and a bell sounds.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Your ride should be here soon, she says. You soon
- 13:40Speaker 1: hear a strange noise, a noise that, if you didn't
- 13:45Speaker 1: know better, you'd say with some sort of wail call,
- 13:50Speaker 1: like a kind of high pitched squealing or singing or calling.
- 13:58Speaker 1: But then you see something rather unexpected. A gigantic whale
- 14:05Speaker 1: with a huge platform strapped to its back, floats along
- 14:11Speaker 1: through the air and hovers right beside the platform you're
- 14:16Speaker 1: standing on. There's the shuttle to the pet cab planet.
- 14:23Speaker 1: May I introduce you to Gary the helium whale. You
- 14:30Speaker 1: look at the giant whale and his eye turns towards you.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Then he kind of waves the fin on the one
- 14:39Speaker 1: side to say hello, and makes another one of those
- 14:43Speaker 1: strange whale calls, only this time it sounds kind of happy.
- 14:48Speaker 1: You reluctantly walk over towards the gigantic floating whale with
- 14:52Speaker 1: the platform on its back. The workers place a little
- 14:58Speaker 1: ladder over towards the whale, and you climb up the
- 15:02Speaker 1: thing and then jump onto the large platform on the
- 15:06Speaker 1: whale's back. The whale makes another happy noise and begins
- 15:12Speaker 1: to fly up into the air. You've never ridden on
- 15:17Speaker 1: a helium whale before, mostly because you didn't know they existed,
- 15:24Speaker 1: but you find the ride kind of peaceful. It's certainly
- 15:28Speaker 1: not as fast as an airplane or a spaceship, but
- 15:32Speaker 1: it does travel rather high and the ride is pretty smooth.
- 15:40Speaker 1: You spend the time bathing in the sun, feeling the
- 15:44Speaker 1: breeze against your face. As Gary the helium whale leads
- 15:51Speaker 1: you past a whole bunch of different summer camps until
- 15:56Speaker 1: he finally arrives at the Alien Care camp. As he
- 16:02Speaker 1: descends down towards the camp, you see a beautiful forested
- 16:08Speaker 1: area spotted with all kinds of lakes, and rivers and
- 16:15Speaker 1: full of all sorts of different animals you've never seen before.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Even as you float down through the air, you can
- 16:24Speaker 1: see flying unicorns, griffins, birds, podactyls, and what seemed to
- 16:33Speaker 1: be other types of helium fish just kind of swimming
- 16:40Speaker 1: through the air. The whole site is very, very strange.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Gary lands right beside another cabin or chalet, they lift
- 16:53Speaker 1: another platform up towards you. You climb on top of
- 16:57Speaker 1: it and slide down it almost like a little slide.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Welcome to Alien Pet Camp. A woman says, my name
- 17:09Speaker 1: is Zoya, and I will be your camp counselor. This week,
- 17:16Speaker 1: we seem to only have you and one other student
- 17:21Speaker 1: or camper. I should say this one over here. The
- 17:27Speaker 1: person reaches over and you see a familiar face, your
- 17:33Speaker 1: friend Pip, the shy one from Adventure Camp. Hi, there,
- 17:39Speaker 1: good to see you again, Pip says, good to see
- 17:43Speaker 1: you again. Do what are you doing here? You ask, Well,
- 17:49Speaker 1: I am kind of on a tour of different summer
- 17:52Speaker 1: camps this summer. My parents have to work, and they
- 17:57Speaker 1: send me to these things to keep me busy and well,
- 18:02Speaker 1: hopefully make me more. I don't know how to say it. Adventurous,
- 18:07Speaker 1: I guess, Pip explains, well, I'm certainly glad to see
- 18:13Speaker 1: a familiar face. Now Caaba's Zoya, the camp counselor says,
- 18:21Speaker 1: follow me to your cabins, and then we'll head to
- 18:26Speaker 1: our first destination. As you walk down the path towards
- 18:32Speaker 1: your cabin, to the left of you and to the
- 18:36Speaker 1: right of you, you see all sorts of super cute animals.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Not only are there strange and interesting animals flying through
- 18:46Speaker 1: the air, but there's very fluffy and very cuddly looking
- 18:52Speaker 1: animals walking around on the grounds. You see a particularly
- 18:58Speaker 1: cute looking puppy dog. You kneel down beside it, reach
- 19:03Speaker 1: out your hand, and it moves over and brushes up
- 19:07Speaker 1: against it. Its fur is incredibly smooth, almost silky. Soon
- 19:15Speaker 1: other pets who see how that particular dog is being
- 19:19Speaker 1: treated notice you and want some attention too. It doesn't
- 19:24Speaker 1: take very long until you find yourself surrounded by fluffy cats,
- 19:29Speaker 1: and fluffy dogs and fluffy bunnies of all different kinds. Now, then,
- 19:36Speaker 1: come now, Zoya says, we must get moving. Don't worry,
- 19:42Speaker 1: they'll follow you, and sure enough, as you get up
- 19:46Speaker 1: and continue to follow, Zoya, the camp counselor back towards
- 19:51Speaker 1: the cabin. Some of the puppies and bunnies and kiddies
- 19:56Speaker 1: do decide to follow you. In fact, they follow you
- 20:01Speaker 1: all the way back to the cabin and even inside.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Now this will be our cabin for the time you're here,
- 20:11Speaker 1: Zoya explains, We certainly welcome all pets from the pet
- 20:18Speaker 1: Cab to come and visit. All of them are very
- 20:23Speaker 1: safe and their shots are mostly up to date, so
- 20:27Speaker 1: you probably shouldn't get rabies or anything, though you find
- 20:32Speaker 1: that last comment kind of strange. You find a bunk bed,
- 20:37Speaker 1: throw your stuff into it, and continue to play with
- 20:41Speaker 1: all of the cute dogs and cute cats. Now it's
- 20:46Speaker 1: time for our first activity, Zoya says. Follow me. You
- 20:54Speaker 1: follow Zoya out of the cabin along a path and
- 20:59Speaker 1: down to war It's a large wooded area. Ah first
- 21:03Speaker 1: activity will be one of my favorites. Magical pet riding.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Zoya says. We have a stable of very well trained pets,
- 21:18Speaker 1: flying pets of all different kinds. You will be able
- 21:24Speaker 1: to choose one, saddle one and ride one around. You
- 21:31Speaker 1: walk through the forest until you come across a clearing
- 21:36Speaker 1: with a whole bunch of magical winged animals standing in
- 21:41Speaker 1: front of you. A pagasays, a normal sort of looking
- 21:45Speaker 1: horse with wings, Unicorns also with a horn and wings, griffins,
- 21:53Speaker 1: and some type of super ugly looking teodactyl like creature. Honestly,
- 22:03Speaker 1: you would not get on that thing if you got
- 22:05Speaker 1: paid to do so. You may pick your favorite, the
- 22:11Speaker 1: woman says. You immediately find yourself attracted to the pagasus,
- 22:19Speaker 1: a large winged horse. You walk towards it and hold
- 22:25Speaker 1: out your hand. It presses its nose into you and
- 22:30Speaker 1: then moves closer toward you. Pip, on the other hand,
- 22:36Speaker 1: reluctantly approaches a griffin. The griffin, half bird, half lion
- 22:44Speaker 1: like creature walks towards him and presses its head up
- 22:49Speaker 1: against his hand. Very good, I see you've already made friends.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Next to saddle them up, Zoya leads you to a
- 23:02Speaker 1: bunch of saddles. She helps you grab the saddle, get
- 23:07Speaker 1: it over the pegasus, and tie it on properly. When
- 23:11Speaker 1: all of the animals are saddled up, you Pip and
- 23:15Speaker 1: Zoya climb on top of your own. You on your
- 23:20Speaker 1: flying pegasus, Pip on his flying griffin, and Zoya on
- 23:28Speaker 1: none other than a flying unicorn. Follow me, Zoya says.
- 23:36Speaker 1: She gives the unicorn a couple light kicks, and it
- 23:39Speaker 1: begins to run. It spreads its wings and flaps them powerfully,
- 23:46Speaker 1: shooting her up into the air. Following the example, you
- 23:51Speaker 1: give your own pegasus a little kick and it begins
- 23:55Speaker 1: to run forward, galloping faster and faster before jumping into
- 24:01Speaker 1: the air and spreading its wings. It feels weightless as
- 24:07Speaker 1: the thing finally catches the air, it flaps its wings
- 24:12Speaker 1: more and more, and with each flap it takes you
- 24:16Speaker 1: higher and higher into the air until you find yourself
- 24:22Speaker 1: side by side with Pip gliding above the pet camp.
- 24:30Speaker 1: The place is absolutely amazing. You swoop down over top
- 24:36Speaker 1: of the tree tops and fly past other unicorns, other pegasuses,
- 24:44Speaker 1: other super ugly looking pterodactyls, and a whole bunch of
- 24:50Speaker 1: flying helium filled fish. It's absolutely beautiful. You dip down
- 24:59Speaker 1: a over a lake and your pagasus flies so close
- 25:05Speaker 1: that it dips its foot inside the water. You and
- 25:10Speaker 1: Pip begin taking turns, first you chasing Pip and then
- 25:17Speaker 1: Pip chasing you. You spend a good part of the
- 25:21Speaker 1: afternoon just flying around on the beautiful creatures, looking down
- 25:28Speaker 1: on the beautiful forests and lakes and generally having a
- 25:33Speaker 1: good time. Well, I believe our time is up, Zoya says,
- 25:39Speaker 1: as she swoops down past you. Follow me back to camp.
- 25:46Speaker 1: You follow Zoya back towards the camp area. You land
- 25:52Speaker 1: on the ground and climb off of your pagasus. There's
- 25:57Speaker 1: another person there, though, who looks somewhat familiar. Zoya hands
- 26:05Speaker 1: the person the reins of her unicorn. Well, now, please
- 26:11Speaker 1: give your animals to Jeff here, she says, Jeff is
- 26:17Speaker 1: one of our newer caretakers. You walk towards Jeff and
- 26:23Speaker 1: hand over the reins to your pegasus. But as you do,
- 26:30Speaker 1: you get the best look of the person you can,
- 26:34Speaker 1: because you know that that man is not, in fact,
- 26:39Speaker 1: Jeff as he claims to be. That man is the Zookeeper. Now,
- 26:49Speaker 1: if you haven't listened to every single story inside the
- 26:54Speaker 1: Dad's Bedtime universe, you might not know who the Zookeeper is.
- 26:59Speaker 1: But as a short summary, in some of the past episodes,
- 27:05Speaker 1: he was kind of responsible for well kidnapping gigantic groups
- 27:10Speaker 1: of alien creatures and holding them hostage on his gigantic
- 27:15Speaker 1: spaceship Zoo for alien creatures. When the zookeeper looks towards you,
- 27:22Speaker 1: you quickly turn your head, not wanting to give him
- 27:26Speaker 1: a very good look. Why, thank you, the man says,
- 27:32Speaker 1: I will take care of all of these magical creatures. Yes,
- 27:39Speaker 1: just leave them to me, he says, in an incredibly
- 27:44Speaker 1: sinister way that you can't believe. The camp counselor doesn't
- 27:48Speaker 1: seem to notice. Thank you, Jeff, she says, and then
- 27:54Speaker 1: she leads you away from the area towards the main lodge.
- 27:59Speaker 1: It's time for dinner, after all. The main lodge is
- 28:03Speaker 1: almost an exact replica of the main lodge at Adventure Camp,
- 28:08Speaker 1: full of tables and chairs with a buffet of pretty
- 28:12Speaker 1: much any food you could ever imagine. After gathering your
- 28:17Speaker 1: food and sitting down at the table, you decide you
- 28:21Speaker 1: have to speak up about the zookeeper. Ah, listen, Zoya.
- 28:26Speaker 1: I know this will sound crazy coming from a kid,
- 28:29Speaker 1: but that Jeff guy back there, his name's not Jeff.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I know him from somewhere else. It's kind of a
- 28:39Speaker 1: long story, but essentially, he's an evil zookeeper. You explain
- 28:46Speaker 1: to the best of your ability. You're past with Jeff
- 28:50Speaker 1: defeating him in his various attempts to abduct alien creatures,
- 28:56Speaker 1: and when you're done, Zoya simply says, well, that is
- 29:01Speaker 1: certainly an interesting story, but I assure you the person
- 29:07Speaker 1: you see there is none other than Jeff. We have
- 29:13Speaker 1: a very rigorous criminal records check here on the Summer
- 29:19Speaker 1: cap planet. We would never let through a person as
- 29:23Speaker 1: you describe. Oh, no, I'm sure he looks similar, but
- 29:30Speaker 1: I assure you that is Jeff. For some reason, it
- 29:36Speaker 1: doesn't seem like she's going to acknowledge your concerns. She
- 29:41Speaker 1: seems certain that the vigorous criminal records check is actually
- 29:46Speaker 1: enough to keep the kid safe. But you saw the
- 29:50Speaker 1: man yourself, and you're certain it's the zookeeper. After dinner,
- 29:56Speaker 1: you head back to your cabin. Zoya turns in the
- 30:00Speaker 1: lights and you and Pip lay down to sleep. But
- 30:05Speaker 1: you can't let the zookeeper thing go. Hey, Pip, you say,
- 30:13Speaker 1: I don't know if you believe me, but I'm sure
- 30:16Speaker 1: that that's the zoo keeper, and if it is, none
- 30:21Speaker 1: of those animals are safe. I'm gonna go check it out.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I totally understand if you want to stay here, but
- 30:29Speaker 1: I I, oh, I'll go with you. I can't let
- 30:34Speaker 1: you do that alone, Pip says. So you and Pip
- 30:41Speaker 1: very quietly sneak out the cabin door, sneak past the
- 30:46Speaker 1: counselors and down the forest path to where all of
- 30:51Speaker 1: the magical creatures seem to be kept. You duck behind
- 30:57Speaker 1: some bushes and you gout what's going on. Sure enough,
- 31:03Speaker 1: you see him, the zookeeper, leading some of the pets somewhere.
- 31:10Speaker 1: We have to follow him, you say to Pip. And
- 31:14Speaker 1: you and Pip do exactly that. You follow the zookeeper
- 31:20Speaker 1: down a little path over to a gigantic clearing where
- 31:27Speaker 1: he guides two of the animals, the pegasus and the
- 31:31Speaker 1: griffin that you and Pip had been riding over towards. Uh, nothing,
- 31:38Speaker 1: you guess. Then he reaches out and sort of pokes
- 31:44Speaker 1: at the air, as if he's pressing buttons on a keypad.
- 31:49Speaker 1: A door suddenly opens up out of nowhere, a door
- 31:54Speaker 1: to an invisible ship. Oh no, he's doing the same
- 32:00Speaker 1: thing again. He's gonna take those animals hostage, and we
- 32:04Speaker 1: can't let him, you say, And with that you jump
- 32:09Speaker 1: out of the bushes and whistle as loud as you can.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Hey run, you say to the pagasus and the Griffin.
- 32:20Speaker 1: That man's not nice. The Griffin and Pegasus look at
- 32:26Speaker 1: each other, look at you, and then look at the zookeeper.
- 32:32Speaker 1: What I'm perfectly nice, the zookeeper says. Now go through
- 32:41Speaker 1: the door. The zookeeper tries to pull the two creatures
- 32:46Speaker 1: through the invisible door into what you're certain is another
- 32:51Speaker 1: version of his zookeeper spaceship, but the animals pull back.
- 32:57Speaker 1: You run towards them as quickly as you can. You
- 33:02Speaker 1: jump up in the air straight onto the Pagasus's back,
- 33:07Speaker 1: and Pip does the same thing to the griffin. Come on, buddy,
- 33:12Speaker 1: we have to get out of here, you say, and
- 33:16Speaker 1: with that the Pegasus listens. It rears up on its
- 33:21Speaker 1: hind legs, waves its two front hooves in the air,
- 33:26Speaker 1: and kicks the bad zookeeper deep within his own ship.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Then it turns away and runs the other direction, with
- 33:37Speaker 1: you still riding on its back. The Griffin, along with Pip,
- 33:43Speaker 1: follows closely behind. The two creatures take to the air
- 33:49Speaker 1: and fly back towards the main cabin. You land on
- 33:54Speaker 1: the ground outside the lodge, and the camp counselors all
- 33:59Speaker 1: get up and come to see what happened. You and
- 34:03Speaker 1: Pip quickly tell them the story about the zoo keeper
- 34:08Speaker 1: and how we tried to take the Pegasus and the
- 34:11Speaker 1: Griffin away. Pip backs you up, but the camp counselors,
- 34:18Speaker 1: including Zoya, don't seem to buy it. Well, if this
- 34:24Speaker 1: were true, then all we have to do to be
- 34:28Speaker 1: sure is to ask the animals, did you too see
- 34:34Speaker 1: this too, Zoya says to the Pegasus and the Griffin, Yes,
- 34:41Speaker 1: I can confirm that that is exactly what happened, says
- 34:47Speaker 1: a voice coming from the Pegasus. You're both shocked to
- 34:52Speaker 1: realize that the Pegasus could talk this whole time, and
- 34:57Speaker 1: also still shocked that the camp counselors didn't believe you
- 35:00Speaker 1: in the first place. Well, Zoya says, I I have
- 35:07Speaker 1: to believe this is true. I will call it into
- 35:12Speaker 1: management right away, Zoya says, and then she runs back
- 35:18Speaker 1: into the main lodge dials of phone, and before very
- 35:23Speaker 1: long at all, flying police cars arrive on the scene.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Not very long afterwards, you see the zoo keeper being
- 35:34Speaker 1: carried away in handcuffs. Well, thank you very much for
- 35:41Speaker 1: keeping our camp safe, Zoya says, I'm sorry I didn't
- 35:47Speaker 1: believe you anyways. I will promise you one free camp
- 35:56Speaker 1: on us. Now, that seems like a pretty good idea.
- 36:02Speaker 1: You and Pip make your way back to the cabin
- 36:06Speaker 1: and each of you climbs into your bed. A whole
- 36:10Speaker 1: bunch of very fluffy cats and very fluffy dogs jump
- 36:16Speaker 1: up on the bed with you. You close your eyes,
- 36:22Speaker 1: and as you gently pet one of the creatures, you
- 36:27Speaker 1: focus on your breath. With each breath, your body becomes
- 36:34Speaker 1: more and more relaxed, and slowly you begin to drift
- 36:42Speaker 1: off to dreams of new camps and new adventures to come.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Good night everyone, now, friends, If you don't remember where
- 36:55Speaker 1: we left off last time in the Spaceship Universe, were
- 37:00Speaker 1: sound asleep at a different summer camp, Alien PetCare summer Camp.
- 37:09Speaker 1: You wake up on Alien PetCare summer Camp. You look
- 37:15Speaker 1: around the room and you see that you're absolutely surrounded
- 37:20Speaker 1: by all sorts of adorable puppies and adorable kiddies, and
- 37:27Speaker 1: pretty much all of them want to backscratch. You and
- 37:31Speaker 1: your friend Pip get up out of bed and you
- 37:35Speaker 1: pet as many of the cute little animals as you
- 37:38Speaker 1: possibly can before Pip tells you his news. Oh well,
- 37:45Speaker 1: I guess I'll see a leader, he says, Oh, why
- 37:50Speaker 1: where are you going, You ask, well, you know how
- 37:55Speaker 1: I said, I was kind of on a summer camp tour. Well,
- 37:59Speaker 1: it's time for me to leave this summer camp and
- 38:03Speaker 1: go to one of my favorite summer camps of all time,
- 38:08Speaker 1: Battle Robots Summer Camp. Wait a second, are you telling
- 38:14Speaker 1: me there's a battle robot summer Camp? You say, yeah,
- 38:19Speaker 1: there totally is. Pip explains, you get to work with
- 38:26Speaker 1: artificial inteligence to create and print a battle robot of
- 38:31Speaker 1: your own, Then you train it, and then you battle
- 38:37Speaker 1: it against other battle robots that other kids have created.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I think I might need to go to this summer
- 38:46Speaker 1: camp with you. You respond, You quickly and quietly head over
- 38:53Speaker 1: to the corner of the cabin. You lift up your
- 38:56Speaker 1: wristwatch and press the communication button on it. Spaceship You say, yes.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Spaceship response, can you call the summer camp Planet people
- 39:11Speaker 1: and have me switched to Battle Robots summer Camp? You ask, understood,
- 39:19Speaker 1: It will be done. Spaceship announces, and with that you
- 39:26Speaker 1: and Pip begin to pack up your belongings back into
- 39:30Speaker 1: a large Duffel bag. Then you wave goodbye to your
- 39:35Speaker 1: camp counselor and head back to the pickup area. Sure, enough,
- 39:41Speaker 1: a gigantic floating helium whale with a large platform on
- 39:46Speaker 1: its back is floating just above you, waiting to take
- 39:51Speaker 1: you to the next destination. All right, A voice from
- 39:57Speaker 1: some teenager sitting on the back of the whale says, well,
- 40:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna need the following people. Uh, just climb on
- 40:05Speaker 1: the whale if I call your name. Sure enough, the
- 40:08Speaker 1: kid goes through a list of names, and both you
- 40:12Speaker 1: and Pip are on it. You climb up a long
- 40:16Speaker 1: and large ramp that they've draped onto the helium whale
- 40:22Speaker 1: and sit down on the large platform. Before very long
- 40:27Speaker 1: at all, the whale begins to float into the air
- 40:32Speaker 1: and high above the summer camp planet once again. Once again,
- 40:39Speaker 1: you look off the side of the whale and you
- 40:42Speaker 1: see camp after camp appear below you. Some camps look cold,
- 40:49Speaker 1: some look hot. One seems to be definitely designed for
- 40:53Speaker 1: snowboarding entirely. You're blown away by how many camps they're
- 40:59Speaker 1: actually are on this planet. And what's that down there,
- 41:05Speaker 1: you ask as you point below you. Oh, that's a
- 41:10Speaker 1: trash camp. The teenager in charge of the helium whale says, well,
- 41:16Speaker 1: most people don't really like to go there, but well,
- 41:20Speaker 1: they think it's important to have options for everyone, I guess,
- 41:24Speaker 1: and let me tell you, it certainly beats Slippery Coffee Camp.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Oh man. They once had me stationed at Slippery Coffee Camp,
- 41:35Speaker 1: and I just a bit went insane. Nobody wanted to
- 41:39Speaker 1: be there, so it was just me. I'm all by
- 41:42Speaker 1: myself walking around slipping on coffee. One time I slipped
- 41:49Speaker 1: so badly that I flew into the side of the building.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Luckily it was made of chocolate. But unluckily it was
- 41:57Speaker 1: made of melting chocolate, which is just gilly and sticky,
- 42:02Speaker 1: and it made me slip even more. You just stand
- 42:07Speaker 1: there for a second, staring at the teenager in some
- 42:12Speaker 1: kind of disbelief that the owners of the Summer camp
- 42:17Speaker 1: Planet actually created both of these camps. But you just
- 42:21Speaker 1: shrug your shoulders and move on. All right, We're finally
- 42:26Speaker 1: arriving at Battle Bought Camp, the same teenager announced. Slowly,
- 42:34Speaker 1: the helium whale lowers down over top of what seems
- 42:39Speaker 1: to be a very high tech camp. You look around
- 42:43Speaker 1: at buildings that are almost entirely white and modern and
- 42:50Speaker 1: look really high tech too. Floating around the camp or
- 42:54Speaker 1: a whole bunch of different helper robots or something a
- 42:59Speaker 1: lot like the ones that fly around Spaceship from time
- 43:02Speaker 1: to time. The whole place looks like a marvel of
- 43:07Speaker 1: robotic engineering. Once the ramp is lowered down from the
- 43:12Speaker 1: helium whale, you and Pip climb to the bottom, only
- 43:18Speaker 1: to be greeted by a man wearing well a lab
- 43:22Speaker 1: coat and a high tech eyepiece of some kind. Welcome
- 43:29Speaker 1: to battle Bot Camp. My name is cork Meant. I
- 43:36Speaker 1: will be your camp counselor let me show you around.
- 43:45Speaker 1: You follow Quirk as he leads you down a series
- 43:48Speaker 1: of pathways.
- 43:50Speaker 3: This is our building and testing center, the place where
- 43:55Speaker 3: our young campers work beside and AI computer system and
- 44:04Speaker 3: design and print a robot of their choice. As you
- 44:10Speaker 3: look through the windows, you see a whole bunch of
- 44:13Speaker 3: different cubicles, each one with a large computer screen and
- 44:19Speaker 3: a large three D printer. Kids are talking to the computer,
- 44:24Speaker 3: typing things and snapping together pieces that come out of
- 44:28Speaker 3: the three D printer and the robots of their own.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Next up, we have our training center. Here our young
- 44:40Speaker 1: ones train their robots, teaching them how they want them
- 44:46Speaker 1: to respond in all sorts of different scenarios. You raise
- 44:53Speaker 1: your hand, yes, you. The man says, uh, you mean,
- 45:00Speaker 1: we don't have to like program these robots in the
- 45:03Speaker 1: traditional sense. You ask ough prograb them in what traditional sense?
- 45:11Speaker 1: Since the advent of artificial intelligence, the most popular programming
- 45:19Speaker 1: language is well language. Your job is to tell the
- 45:26Speaker 1: computer exactly what you wanted to do, to give the
- 45:32Speaker 1: robot all sorts of scenarios that spell out if some
- 45:38Speaker 1: one else does this, the robot should do that. In fact,
- 45:44Speaker 1: the same goes for creating your robot. There's no need
- 45:50Speaker 1: to draw up designs or test out prototypes. All you
- 45:56Speaker 1: have to do is communicate what you imagine to the
- 46:01Speaker 1: computer in the most detailed way possible. The computer then
- 46:08Speaker 1: takes that information, mixes it together, and shows you how
- 46:14Speaker 1: it's interpreted it. From there, you can have it change
- 46:19Speaker 1: the design or print the design. There's no longer a
- 46:25Speaker 1: need for humans to do the actual constructing that sort
- 46:29Speaker 1: of thing. Their job is simply imagining. Wow, cool, I think,
- 46:39Speaker 1: you respond. Not sure how you feel about this artificial
- 46:43Speaker 1: intelligence stuff after all, but you do decide that it's
- 46:48Speaker 1: probably the only way to actually build, train, and fight
- 46:53Speaker 1: a robot of your own within the span of a
- 46:56Speaker 1: week or less. Now, heading over to a cabin. Your
- 47:03Speaker 1: cabin is almost the same size as every other cabin
- 47:07Speaker 1: you've stayed in, only this one looks like it was
- 47:11Speaker 1: three D printed by a gigantic three D printer. A
- 47:16Speaker 1: bright white little cabin building made with absolute precision. As
- 47:23Speaker 1: you enter the cabin, you see that the inside is
- 47:26Speaker 1: no different, all made out of beautiful, polished white metal,
- 47:32Speaker 1: computer screens and video games all over the place, and
- 47:36Speaker 1: of course, a few helper robots. Would you like us
- 47:41Speaker 1: to gather your things? A robot says, as it flies
- 47:46Speaker 1: up towards you. Uh sure, you say, and you and
- 47:51Speaker 1: Pip hand over your duffel bags. We will take care
- 47:56Speaker 1: of this. Have fun programming your own robot, they say,
- 48:02Speaker 1: And then they bring your duffel bag over to your
- 48:05Speaker 1: bed and begin unpacking it in almost the same way
- 48:09Speaker 1: you would have. Very good. Now that that's completely tie
- 48:15Speaker 1: can take the two of you to the creation zone.
- 48:21Speaker 1: The man leads you back down the path to the
- 48:25Speaker 1: very first building you came across. You enter inside and
- 48:30Speaker 1: pass a whole bunch of different campers, all working with
- 48:35Speaker 1: a large computer screen and creating a robot of their
- 48:40Speaker 1: very own. He leads you and Pip to a station
- 48:45Speaker 1: of your own, a little cubicle off to the very
- 48:49Speaker 1: side of the room. Inside the cubicle is a large
- 48:54Speaker 1: computer screen with a little digital face on it and
- 48:58Speaker 1: a medium sized three D printer of some kind. Now,
- 49:03Speaker 1: I'd like to introduce you to your AI. I believe
- 49:09Speaker 1: this one calls himself Quantum. Nice to meet you, Quantum says, Now,
- 49:19Speaker 1: just a few more things before I go. Number One,
- 49:24Speaker 1: you can have as long as you need to create
- 49:28Speaker 1: your robot. There are different battle competitions on different days,
- 49:35Speaker 1: and you can join at almost any time. Second, well,
- 49:42Speaker 1: there are many pretty deadly things that you could possibly
- 49:48Speaker 1: build into a robot. Some people are excited about that, well,
- 49:54Speaker 1: others are apprehensive, with good reason, of course. As a
- 50:00Speaker 1: the result of that and of course insurance companies, all
- 50:05Speaker 1: robots programmed here will have a built in system that
- 50:11Speaker 1: only allows them to use their weapons and gadgets against
- 50:17Speaker 1: other robots. That means that you can go as wild
- 50:22Speaker 1: as you like with the building of weapons and gadgets
- 50:27Speaker 1: and not be afraid of hurting anyone. And last, but
- 50:33Speaker 1: certainly not least, when your robot is done being built,
- 50:38Speaker 1: you can take it over to the training area. There
- 50:43Speaker 1: are all sorts of practice robots to battle. There all
- 50:49Speaker 1: sorts of different rooms and all sorts of different countermeasures
- 50:54Speaker 1: that you can use to train your robot how to
- 50:58Speaker 1: respond to others. If after training you are not happy
- 51:04Speaker 1: with your robot design, feel free to come back here
- 51:09Speaker 1: and make some tweaks as long as you're done by
- 51:13Speaker 1: the time you're ready to battle. I have no complaints,
- 51:19Speaker 1: And unlike other summer camps, there are no other activities.
- 51:26Speaker 1: You build your robot and you like it. You know
- 51:30Speaker 1: where the cabin is if you need a sleep, and
- 51:34Speaker 1: the kitchens are over there if you need something to eat, Now,
- 51:40Speaker 1: farewell and good building er. Call me if you need anything.
- 51:45Speaker 1: The man waves goodbye and just walks away. Well, folks,
- 51:52Speaker 1: are you ready to work together and build one of
- 51:55Speaker 1: the best battle robots the world has ever seen? Quantum
- 52:01Speaker 1: masks You turn back towards the computer. Then you look
- 52:06Speaker 1: at PIP. I think we are, you say, and so
- 52:12Speaker 1: you begin telling Quantum all sorts of different ideas for
- 52:17Speaker 1: a battle robot. I think it's gonna need like a
- 52:22Speaker 1: giant blade that spins around and you know, comes out
- 52:25Speaker 1: of the robot at the front. You say, yeah, And
- 52:30Speaker 1: maybe like something that can flip other robots that just
- 52:34Speaker 1: like goes underneath them and flips upward. Pip suggests, Oh,
- 52:40Speaker 1: and can you can you add like a shock ray
- 52:43Speaker 1: or something like that? You say, Oh, and like, we
- 52:48Speaker 1: totally need a freeze ray doo and a heat ray.
- 52:53Speaker 1: You and Pip continue to go through a list of
- 52:56Speaker 1: different crazy weapons and devices that you plan to have
- 53:00Speaker 1: your robot use, and Quantum continues to take note, I
- 53:06Speaker 1: have mocked up what I believe the robot could look like,
- 53:11Speaker 1: Quantum says, and a picture generates on the computer, a
- 53:17Speaker 1: picture of a large, square robot with big wheels and
- 53:22Speaker 1: a whole bunch of different devices sticking out of it,
- 53:26Speaker 1: a saw blade, a whole bunch of different ray guns,
- 53:32Speaker 1: that sort of thing. I can't help but think it
- 53:36Speaker 1: looks just kind of like an everyday battle robot, you say,
- 53:41Speaker 1: as you look around the room at everyone else's boxy
- 53:45Speaker 1: robot designs. Yeah, Pip says, but maybe it's what we
- 53:52Speaker 1: should go with, maybe, you say, or maybe Quantum, do
- 54:01Speaker 1: you have the ability to create transforming robot parts? You ask,
- 54:08Speaker 1: what exactly are you thinking? Well, what if our little
- 54:14Speaker 1: boxy robot was just what everyone saw it first? I
- 54:19Speaker 1: mean sure, it'll be pretty capable with that saw and
- 54:22Speaker 1: those ray guns and stuff on it. But if that
- 54:26Speaker 1: doesn't work, what if it transforms into a like a
- 54:31Speaker 1: humanoid looking robot and just picks up the other robots
- 54:36Speaker 1: and throws them. You suggest analyzing idea now, Quantum says,
- 54:45Speaker 1: I believe your idea could have a lot of merit.
- 54:51Speaker 1: You are correct in thinking that most people who build
- 54:54Speaker 1: robots build a design similar to your first one. Humanoid
- 55:00Speaker 1: robots are extremely rare, and transforming robots. Well, I'm not
- 55:07Speaker 1: sure anyone has suggested that before. Can I add to
- 55:11Speaker 1: the design, Pip says shyly, Of course you can, Pip,
- 55:17Speaker 1: Quantum says, what did you have in mind? Well, back
- 55:22Speaker 1: on adventure Camp, we kind of got these memories of ninjas,
- 55:30Speaker 1: and I was kind of thinking, like, what if the
- 55:33Speaker 1: robot transforms into like a Ninja bot with all sorts
- 55:39Speaker 1: of different swords and throwing stars, and then we could
- 55:43Speaker 1: train it in ninjits it as well. That is an
- 55:47Speaker 1: awesome idea, Pip, you say, Quantum, what do you think.
- 55:53Speaker 1: I believe it could be done. However, our printing time
- 55:59Speaker 1: may take a little while. Before long, Quantum mocks up
- 56:05Speaker 1: a picture of the Ninja robot. You and Pip make
- 56:10Speaker 1: a few different adjustments until the robot looks exactly like
- 56:15Speaker 1: you'd expect a ninja robot to look, all black, metallic
- 56:22Speaker 1: mask and covered from head to toe with all sorts
- 56:27Speaker 1: of different ninja weapons. When you and Pip are completely satisfied,
- 56:33Speaker 1: Quantum begins to build the parts one by one, and
- 56:38Speaker 1: part by part, you and Pip begin to snap them
- 56:42Speaker 1: all together. It takes a couple of days to actually
- 56:47Speaker 1: finish the robot completely, but soon you have a fully
- 56:52Speaker 1: built Ninja robot that transforms into a little boxy robot.
- 57:00Speaker 1: All right, you say to the robot, Are you there?
- 57:04Speaker 1: You ask, yes, I am here. The robot responds, what
- 57:11Speaker 1: are your orders? Well, first let's see if you can transform,
- 57:18Speaker 1: you suggest, understood. The robot responds, and then quickly transforms
- 57:25Speaker 1: into a little boxy robot with a bunch of robotic
- 57:30Speaker 1: arms sticking up out of it, some of them with
- 57:33Speaker 1: ray guns, some of them with blades, one of them
- 57:37Speaker 1: with a gigantic spinning saw blade. All right, perfect, Now,
- 57:44Speaker 1: I think it might be time to train, you suggest,
- 57:48Speaker 1: So you and Pip take your little robot Ninja about
- 57:53Speaker 1: three thousand as you've decided to call it, and you
- 57:58Speaker 1: go to the training area. You start by battling some
- 58:02Speaker 1: of the practice robots, little robots designed for this sort
- 58:07Speaker 1: of thing. When the first robot runs at Ninjabot three thousand,
- 58:14Speaker 1: the bot doesn't seem to know what to do. The
- 58:17Speaker 1: other robot slams into it head first, and your robot
- 58:23Speaker 1: just kind of stands there. All right, robot, your goal
- 58:29Speaker 1: is to try to avoid the other robot and then
- 58:33Speaker 1: strike back against it with one of your own weapons,
- 58:37Speaker 1: You say, understood, Ninjabot three thousand replies. This time, when
- 58:45Speaker 1: the other robot comes towards it, it spins its wheels,
- 58:49Speaker 1: turns out of the way, and slams down on the
- 58:54Speaker 1: other robot with the giant spinning sob blade, sparks fly everywhere,
- 59:00Speaker 1: and the other robot just kind of collapses completely broken.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Ah yeah, more like that, you say. And then you
- 59:13Speaker 1: and Pip get another battle robot, and another, and another
- 59:19Speaker 1: and another. Each one attacks your robot in slightly different ways,
- 59:25Speaker 1: with slightly different mechanical devices and techniques. Each time you
- 59:31Speaker 1: see a new technique, you give ninjabad three thousand a
- 59:36Speaker 1: little coaching session, telling it how it probably should have
- 59:41Speaker 1: moved away and how it should counterattack understood, Ninjabad three
- 59:49Speaker 1: thousand responds every single time, and then it does exactly
- 59:55Speaker 1: what you say. When you're done with ground training with
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Ninjabud's boxy form, you have Ninjabod transform into its ninja form,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: and from there you decide to train it in the
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: ways of ninjitsu. Now. Luckily, in case you haven't you know,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: listen to the first Summer Camp Planet episodes. You and
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Bip have downloaded the memories of many different ninjas directly
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: into your brains. These memories come in very handy as
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: you train the robot in just the way whoever had
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: the memories trained themselves. You teach it to block, you
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: teach it to strike, you teach it to dodge to
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: the side, and of course you teach it how to
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: jump through the air and do perfect front flips and backflips,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: something every ninja needs to know how to do. After
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: a few days of this, the Ninjabod is picked up
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: every single move you could think to teach it, and
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: there's nothing left but to join a battle. A robot battle.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: You have the Ninjabod shrink back down into its original
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: size and you walk it towards the signup table. Alright,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: so we're gonna enter your what did you call it,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Ninjabot three thousand, I believe, into the next competition, which
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: we'll be starting in five minutes. Please go stand over
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: there with your robot. Someone will tell you when it's
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: your turn to battle. So you move towards where the
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: person told you to stand, and you wait. You wait
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: until before very long at all, there's a little announcement
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: and a series of curtains lift up towards the ceiling,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: revealing a gigantic protected robot fighting ring in the center.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Ladies and gentle men, people of all ages, Welcome to
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: the six hundred and fifty fourth robot competition of the day.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Today we have ninjabout three thousand competing against the Crusher.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: The crowd goes wild. You look around to see that
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: the crowd is actually made up of a bunch of robots,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: though human looking robots, who seem designed to just watch
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: the competitions and cheer in excitement. What else did you expect, anyways,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: like a whole bunch of humans just sitting around all day. Anyways,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: the doors opened and the two robots wheel in the
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: announcer counts down from three two one and announces begin.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: As soon as he says that, the other robot comes
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: running towards Ninjabad three thousand with two gigantic hammers on
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: two gigantic robot arms. One hammer lifts up into the air,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: slams down, but luckily, Ninjabad three thousand spins to the side,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: lifts up its saw blade and cuts directly through the
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: other robot, blowing it into a whole bunch of pieces.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we have a winner. You
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: advance to the semi finals, where you take on yet
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: another robot, this one designed a lot like yours, with
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: a whole bunch of flying sob blades. After battling it
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: out for a little while in its normal form, Ninjabad
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: three thousand decides to suddenly transform. It jumps up in
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: the air, transforms into a ninja, and draws several katanas
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: at the same time. It takes a perfect ninja fighting stance,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: and as the other robot attacks, it slices through the
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: robot arms with ease, and then well, it slices the
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: robot in half as well. Ladies and gentlemen, I believe
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: we have a winner again, Ninjabot three thousand will go
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: on to the finals against let's see here, uh Rex Junior.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I believe is what it says. Little flying robots fly
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: into the battle area, pick up the broken pieces of robot,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: and fly away. Then the door opens on the other side,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: and into the arena walks well medium sized, fully mechanical
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Terranosaurus robot. A spotlight appears on his programmer, and you
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: find yourself staring at none other than well Rex, but
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Rex as a kid kid Rex. Hey, you say, are you?
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Are you Rex? Well, the dinosaur like creature respect bonds,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: I see you've heard of me before. Well, I am Rex,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: and I'm not Rex technically, I'm a Rex clone, a
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Rex clone that never grew to maturity. Well, all of
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: the other Rex clones got to become adults right away
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: and then go off into the universe and cose havoc.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: My development was cut a little bit short, ah, a
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: little bit young, I should say. So, Rex just put
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: me here on the summer camp planet, saying it was
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: the perfect battle ground for an evil genius to grow up.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: I didn't know what he was talking about until I
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: started discovering camps like this one. Camps that allow me
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: to create things like this. With that, the robotic Tarannosaurus
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: roars and breathes out a huge plume of fire. Luckily,
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Ninjabod three thousand ducks out of the way, then jumps
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: up into the air with two katanas in hand and
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: attempts to cut the other robot into pieces. But just
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: before it can strike, the other tarannosaurus spins around in
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: a circle and sweeps Ninjabod using its tail. Ninjabod falls
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: directly onto its back, and the Tarannosaurus jumps up into
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: the air, opens both of its claws and attacks Ninjabod
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: with every pound of biting force it can. Luckily, Ninjabod
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: sticks his swords up in time and catches either side
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: of the Tarannosaurus's mouth. The Tarannosaurus chomps directly through them
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: and goes back for the bot. The bod moves to
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: the side and the Tarannosaurus smashes into the ground. Then
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: it lifts up its head again and attempts to eat
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: Ninjabod once again. Once again, Ninjabod sneaks to the side
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: and pushes the dinosaur into the ground. He shrimps out
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: from below the dinosaur creature and jumps on top of
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: its back. The Tarannosaurus starts to move around quickly, trying
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: to shake the ninjabod off of its back, but the
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: ninjabud holds on as tightly as it can, spinning around
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: in circles, crashing up against the side of the cage.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: As it slams up against the side of the cage,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: you notice something just below the neck of the bot,
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: A little slot where a wire is visible. Ninjabot, you say,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: I think I see a weak spot on the back
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: of its neck. Ninjabot nods in confirmation and looks at
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: the spot you're talking about. It lifts up its hand
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: into a perfect karate chop shape, and well, it chops
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: the Taranosaurus as hard as it possibly can, breaking apart
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: its steel and breaking open a big enough slit to
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: rip out the wires. The ninjabod yanks a series of
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: wires out, and the Tarannosaurus robot begins to spark and
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: sputter and move around in an even crazier fashion. Ninjabad
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: three thousand jumps off, and the Tarannosaurus bod runs into
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: the wall, falls over on its side, and then falls
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: apart completely. A man not again, minnie Rex says, as
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: he immediately turns around and leaves the battle area. Ladies
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: and gentlemen, I would like to announce the winner of
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: this particular competition. I give to you Ninjabot three thousand.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: The crowd of robots once again cheers as loudly as
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: they can. The door to the battle arena opens up,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: and Ninjabad three thousand walks out. Good job, buddy, you
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: say thank you, Ninjabad says. Together, you, Pip and Ninjabad
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: walk back to the cabin. After days upon days of
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: building a robot, A good night's sleep sounds even better
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: than ever. Ninjabad transforms back into his little boxy shape,
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: and you and Pip climb into your beds. You pull
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: the covers up to your chin, close your eyes and
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: begin to imagine every muscle in your body just releasing
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: all tension and sinking down deeper and deeper into the mattress.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: And with each breath you sink a little more, and
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: your mind starts to wander off to thoughts of new
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: dreams and new adventures to come. Good night, everyone, ne m.
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: M M.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: No more than us means.
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: More than.
