- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. The New York Times has a new piece
- 0:07Speaker 1: out about Karinia Shulak, Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend, at the time
- 0:12Speaker 1: that he died. And there's certainly a lot of questions
- 0:16Speaker 1: that still hang in the air when it comes to
- 0:18Speaker 1: Karinia Shulak and where exactly she fits in in the
- 0:22Speaker 1: story overall. So in this episode, we're going to jump
- 0:25Speaker 1: into an article from the New York Times talking about
- 0:28Speaker 1: Karinia Shulak and providing us a bit more context about
- 0:32Speaker 1: who she is and what her role was. Like I said,
- 0:36Speaker 1: this article was published by the New York Times and
- 0:39Speaker 1: the headline, Meet the Woman Who Stands to Inherit Much
- 0:42Speaker 1: of Jeffrey Epstein's Fortune. This article was authored by Matthew
- 0:47Speaker 1: Goldstein and Sharon Otterman. The young dentist was smiling and soft-spoken,
- 0:54Speaker 1: wearing a Columbia University fleece jacket, and holding her long
- 0:57Speaker 1: hair back with a clip. She was introduced by her assistant,
- 1:01Speaker 1: simply Dr. Corinna. But what the patient, who had come
- 1:04Speaker 1: to the office in December, expecting to see a different dentist,
- 1:08Speaker 1: didn't know, was that she was being treated by Dr.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Corinna Shulak, the notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend. Yeah,
- 1:17Speaker 1: probably not the person I want rooting around in my mouth.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Can I have somebody besides Nurse Ratched, please? Dr. Shulak
- 1:27Speaker 1: was the last person Mr. Epstein called before he killed
- 1:29Speaker 1: himself in his jail cell in 2019, allegedly. I'm glad
- 1:35Speaker 1: they're so sure about everything, huh? I mean, Matthew Goldstein
- 1:38Speaker 1: and Sharon Otterman, I'm sure they trust the Trump administration
- 1:41Speaker 1: in all other areas. But all of a sudden, they're
- 1:45Speaker 1: sure that Epstein killed himself, huh? Okay, I guess. She
- 1:52Speaker 1: could inherit as much as $ 100 million from his estate,
- 1:55Speaker 1: including a 33-carat diamond ring, according to a trove of
- 1:59Speaker 1: investigative records released by federal authorities. But on that winter day, Dr.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Shulak was working as a part-time dentist in an unremarkable
- 2:08Speaker 1: office in downtown Brooklyn, according to dentists who work or
- 2:12Speaker 1: used to work at the practice. That must be wild.
- 2:17Speaker 1: You find out that you were working with one of
- 2:19Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's, you know, girlfriends, one of his confidants. And look,
- 2:24Speaker 1: I don't know what Karinia Shulak was up to, if anything,
- 2:27Speaker 1: as far as Jeffrey Epstein's criminal operation goes. But I'm
- 2:31Speaker 1: sure she has some information that could be helpful. Whether
- 2:35Speaker 1: that's incriminating or not, I have no idea. But she
- 2:38Speaker 1: was certainly around. She has intimate knowledge of who that
- 2:41Speaker 1: dude was, what his mind frame was, and what was
- 2:45Speaker 1: going on. That final phone call. And I think that's
- 2:49Speaker 1: very important for us to hear. and I think Congress
- 2:53Speaker 1: should subpoena her. Her attempt to forge something of a
- 2:57Speaker 1: normal life, though, was soon shattered when the Justice Department
- 3:01Speaker 1: released 3 million pages of investigative files and emails it
- 3:05Speaker 1: had gathered on Mr. Epstein. The files, released in late January,
- 3:10Speaker 1: included thousands of intimate emails between Dr. Shulak and Mr. Epstein,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and dozens of photographs of her and them together. Not
- 3:19Speaker 1: exactly the kind of information you want to go down
- 3:21Speaker 1: in the record, right? Yeah, you know, Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend,
- 3:25Speaker 1: no big deal. Suddenly, their nearly eight-year relationship was on
- 3:31Speaker 1: vivid display for all to see. They had fights about sex.
- 3:35Speaker 1: With both wanting more at different times, she placed orders
- 3:38Speaker 1: to a sexual wellness company for couples. She periodically sent
- 3:42Speaker 1: them links to graphic pornographic videos. In some emails, they
- 3:46Speaker 1: discussed birth control pills and acne medications. and treatments. Dr. Shuliac, 37,
- 3:53Speaker 1: emerges as a complicated and unusual figure in Mr. Epstein's world,
- 3:58Speaker 1: based on a close review of the files and conversations
- 4:01Speaker 1: with several people familiar with her. A native of Belarus
- 4:06Speaker 1: who met Mr. Epstein when she was 21, she's not
- 4:09Speaker 1: identified herself as a victim, nor have federal authorities considered
- 4:13Speaker 1: her a co-conspirator in Mr. Epstein's sex trafficking. And that's
- 4:17Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. She's occupying a pretty complicated space here.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Like she hasn't called herself a victim. And we have
- 4:27Speaker 1: no information that she was partaking in any of the abuse.
- 4:32Speaker 1: So where does she fit in? In my opinion, she
- 4:36Speaker 1: fits in as somebody that has a whole lot of knowledge.
- 4:39Speaker 1: She can fill in some gaps. She can provide maybe
- 4:42Speaker 1: some details about some situations that they don't have a
- 4:47Speaker 1: complete picture of. And if they would have done a
- 4:51Speaker 1: real investigation from the very beginning, you would think that
- 4:53Speaker 1: they'd call her in, right? Sit her down. What did
- 4:56Speaker 1: you guys talk about on that last phone call? What happened?
- 4:59Speaker 1: What did he tell you? What was his state of mind?
- 5:02Speaker 1: Is there anything that we might have missed? But God
- 5:04Speaker 1: forbid they do that, right? God forbid they have a
- 5:07Speaker 1: real investigation. There's no indication that the Federal Bureau of
- 5:10Speaker 1: Investigations ever interviewed her and lawyers for hundreds of his
- 5:13Speaker 1: victims have never deposed her. The last person to talk
- 5:17Speaker 1: to him and the authorities never bothered to talk to her. Yeah,
- 5:21Speaker 1: nothing odd about that. Everything is on the up and
- 5:24Speaker 1: up here. Meanwhile, we have the Attorney General at the time,
- 5:28Speaker 1: Bill Barr, going to visit Stone Reyes at his house
- 5:31Speaker 1: after he was released from jail? Okay, cool. Can we
- 5:35Speaker 1: get some contemporaneous notes on that? What did they talk about?
- 5:41Speaker 1: He once called her his favorite and often told her
- 5:44Speaker 1: he loved her. She had free use of a credit
- 5:46Speaker 1: card to buy whatever she wanted They jetted around the
- 5:49Speaker 1: world together, and he funneled payments of nearly $ 1 million
- 5:52Speaker 1: to her over the years. He also sent tens of
- 5:55Speaker 1: thousands of dollars to her parents in Belarus, the files reveal.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And there is abject poverty in Belarus. Well, they have
- 6:04Speaker 1: money for weapons of war, right? They have money to
- 6:07Speaker 1: help their boy Putin. But besides that, not exactly what
- 6:10Speaker 1: you would call a rich country. And when you have
- 6:14Speaker 1: somebody sending tens of thousands of dollars back to your family...
- 6:18Speaker 1: Certainly not the kind of thing you want to let
- 6:19Speaker 1: go of. Over the years, she earned enough of his
- 6:24Speaker 1: trust to help manage his properties and staff and even
- 6:27Speaker 1: played a critical role in his effort to buy a
- 6:29Speaker 1: Moroccan plane just weeks before his 2019 arrest. So she
- 6:34Speaker 1: basically stepped in and took over the role of Ghislaine
- 6:37Speaker 1: Maxwell and Sarah Kellen Vickers. Maybe not with the abuse
- 6:41Speaker 1: and the criminal end of it, but the logistics. Taking
- 6:45Speaker 1: over Epstein's household. calling the shots, you know, that kind
- 6:49Speaker 1: of thing. And again, look, I'm not saying she was
- 6:52Speaker 1: involved in the abuse. We've seen no indication of that.
- 6:55Speaker 1: But she was around. And I think that that's very important.
- 6:59Speaker 1: And I think that if you were around something like this,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you probably saw stuff, even if you don't know it.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And that's why it's important for everybody to sit down
- 7:06Speaker 1: with investigators. Mr. Epstein controlled the relationship, but there's little
- 7:11Speaker 1: doubt she benefited from it professionally, personally, and financially. The
- 7:16Speaker 1: emails reveal new details about how Mr. Epstein helped her
- 7:19Speaker 1: get into Columbia University's dental school and how he helped
- 7:23Speaker 1: her obtain U.S. citizenship by asking one of his female
- 7:26Speaker 1: victims to marry her. Well, who told you about that?
- 7:31Speaker 1: I told you there was marriage fraud and immigration fraud
- 7:34Speaker 1: and a whole host of other shit nobody's talking about.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And look, Epstein didn't do all of that on his own.
- 7:39Speaker 1: There was somebody at the immigration office that was playing ball.
- 7:43Speaker 1: There was somebody that was like, OK, we can do this.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Send over the paperwork. Now, we'll probably never find out
- 7:50Speaker 1: who that is because the government doesn't want to show
- 7:52Speaker 1: their ass. And we've seen that with the redactions in
- 7:55Speaker 1: the files. We have no idea who was engaging in
- 7:59Speaker 1: the investigation. So how do we know who to hold accountable?
- 8:02Speaker 1: And obviously, the law says that we should know who
- 8:04Speaker 1: was engaging in these conversations and certainly who made the
- 8:07Speaker 1: decision to not go after Epstein, to go after this one,
- 8:11Speaker 1: to go after that one. and to give this one
- 8:13Speaker 1: or that one a pass. All of that should be
- 8:15Speaker 1: known to us. In one email, he suggested that the
- 8:20Speaker 1: fastest way to a green card was through a same-sex marriage.
- 8:24Speaker 1: This year, congressional Democrats accused Mr. Epstein of exploiting the
- 8:27Speaker 1: immigration system and called out Dr. Shulak's marriage to an
- 8:31Speaker 1: American woman, which ended in divorce, as potentially a luxury one. U.S.
- 8:37Speaker 1: immigration authorities have not challenged the process through which Dr.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Shuliac obtained her citizenship because that would give up the game.
- 8:44Speaker 1: They'd have to admit then that what I've been telling
- 8:46Speaker 1: you is true. And look, don't get this shit confused
- 8:50Speaker 1: with the nonsense you see coming from people like Candace
- 8:53Speaker 1: Owens and Charlie Kirk. We have evidence. Mountains of it.
- 8:59Speaker 1: They have speculation. And if you're looking for a real cover-up,
- 9:03Speaker 1: this is it. This is the whole game right here.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And that's why they're fighting tooth and nail to make
- 9:11Speaker 1: sure you never see the real details. As of this spring, Dr.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Shuliac had been living in the Upper East Side, condo
- 9:20Speaker 1: building in which Mr. Epstein's brother, Mark, has a financial stake.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And that's the building at East 66th Street. And if
- 9:27Speaker 1: you remember, that's where Epstein kept all of his models
- 9:30Speaker 1: and his employees. And through a partnership with his brother, allegedly...
- 9:34Speaker 1: they had access to a group of apartments in that building.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Through her lawyer, she declined to comment. In a brief interview,
- 9:43Speaker 1: Mark Epstein said, I only wish that woman the best. Oh,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I'm sure. Do you wish any of the survivors the best, Mark?
- 9:51Speaker 1: Anybody ask him about that? A friend of Dr. Shuliac's
- 9:53Speaker 1: from Belarus, who once shared an apartment with her in
- 9:56Speaker 1: Brooklyn and asked not to be named to protect her privacy,
- 9:59Speaker 1: said she believed Dr. Shulak truly loved Jeffrey Epstein. Well,
- 10:03Speaker 1: that's possible. I'm not going to say that, you know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: she wasn't in love with him, but I will tell
- 10:09Speaker 1: you this, he didn't love her. This man was incapable
- 10:13Speaker 1: of real love. He was a monster, okay? A straight
- 10:17Speaker 1: up monster. And I'm not just talking about the sexual deviancy.
- 10:21Speaker 1: All of it. The shit he was engaging in. Arms running.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Collecting compromise. Ruining people's lives. All of it is just heinous.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Everything this guy was involved in. Corinna Shulak had lived
- 10:36Speaker 1: in New York for only nine months when she met Mr.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Epstein in late March of 2001. She had moved from
- 10:42Speaker 1: Belarus on a temporary student visa to study English at
- 10:45Speaker 1: a school in Manhattan. She was making about $ 15 an
- 10:49Speaker 1: hour as a dental assistant and applying for waitressing jobs
- 10:53Speaker 1: while she tried to figure out how to continue the
- 10:56Speaker 1: dental education she had begun in Belarus. A young woman
- 11:00Speaker 1: from Siberia who introduced her to Mr. Epstein the final show.
- 11:04Speaker 1: And that's how deep this dude's reach went. All the
- 11:06Speaker 1: way into Siberia. Make no mistake. He had his boy,
- 11:11Speaker 1: Jean-Luc Brunel, on the prowl. And Jean-Luc Brunel had no
- 11:15Speaker 1: problem going to far-flung places to find girls to abuse,
- 11:20Speaker 1: for him and Jeffrey Epstein to share. And when I
- 11:22Speaker 1: tell you it was worldwide, this is what I mean.
- 11:25Speaker 1: The woman said in an interview with the New York
- 11:27Speaker 1: Times that she had periodically been expected to recruit other
- 11:31Speaker 1: young women, presumably to provide Mr. Epstein with sexualized massages.
- 11:36Speaker 1: And that appeared to be Mr. Epstein's intention with Dr. Shuliac. Yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 1: he had to have a whole roster, right? He had
- 11:42Speaker 1: a menagerie of women and girls. that were quote-unquote coming
- 11:46Speaker 1: to give him massages. We all know what that means.
- 11:50Speaker 1: They weren't going to give him massages, just like you're
- 11:52Speaker 1: not going to the weed dispensary to buy a six-pack
- 11:54Speaker 1: of beer. The woman, who asked not to be named
- 11:59Speaker 1: because she said Mr. Epstein had abused her, had sent Mr.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Epstein a photo of Dr. Shuliac describing her as pretty.
- 12:07Speaker 1: After some back and forth, it was decided that the woman, Dr. Shuliac,
- 12:11Speaker 1: and her roommate from Belarus would meet Mr. Epstein at
- 12:14Speaker 1: his Manhattan mansion. Go slow, the woman advised Mr. Epstein
- 12:18Speaker 1: in an email. Their first encounter fit the familiar pattern
- 12:23Speaker 1: he used with other women. Epstein flattered, pampered, and tried
- 12:27Speaker 1: to manipulate her. The files show. Almost immediately, he offered
- 12:31Speaker 1: to help her realize her dream of becoming a dentist.
- 12:35Speaker 1: And the trap was set. Hook, line, sinker. But the
- 12:40Speaker 1: emails show that Dr. Shulak pushed back, at least in
- 12:43Speaker 1: the first few months. A few weeks after they met,
- 12:46Speaker 1: she wrote to Mr. Epstein telling him she had thought
- 12:49Speaker 1: he was a remarkable person, but, she added, that she
- 12:52Speaker 1: could not accept his help due to some views which
- 12:55Speaker 1: strongly stay in my mind, no matter how stupid it
- 12:57Speaker 1: may look. I wish you all the best, and I
- 13:00Speaker 1: apologize if I wasted your time, she added. Though she
- 13:04Speaker 1: doesn't specify what upset her, their introduction occurred after Mr.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Epstein had pleaded guilty in Florida to a charge of
- 13:11Speaker 1: soliciting prostitution from an underage teenager. and had been accused
- 13:15Speaker 1: of abusing dozens of other teenagers. His response was to
- 13:19Speaker 1: berate her for listening to rumors and stories. She responded, Mr. Epstein,
- 13:24Speaker 1: who was 58 at the time, did not take no
- 13:26Speaker 1: for an answer. The emails, released by federal prosecutors, show
- 13:28Speaker 1: that he bought Dr. Shulak and her roommate tickets to
- 13:30Speaker 1: see The Lion King, on Broadway and dinners at restaurants.
- 13:46Speaker 1: He treated her to a scenic helicopter ride around Manhattan.
- 13:50Speaker 1: By July 2011, she had visited his New Mexico ranch.
- 13:54Speaker 1: A few months later, his private island residence in the U.S.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Virgin Islands. All right, folks, we're going to wrap up
- 14:01Speaker 1: episode one right here. And in the next episode, we're
- 14:03Speaker 1: going to pick up where we left off. All the
- 14:06Speaker 1: information that goes with this episode can be found in
- 14:09Speaker 1: the description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome to another
- 14:12Speaker 1: episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're picking
- 14:17Speaker 1: up where we left off with the New York Times
- 14:19Speaker 1: article that was authored by Matthew Goldstein and Sharon Otterman
- 14:24Speaker 1: dealing with Karinia Shulak. You are the purest man. Ever
- 14:29Speaker 1: since she was a child, Dr. Shulak wanted to be
- 14:32Speaker 1: a dentist. She was inspired by her own family's dental
- 14:35Speaker 1: problems and what she saw as poor dental health in Belarus.
- 14:39Speaker 1: She wrote in an admissions essay to dental school reviewed
- 14:42Speaker 1: by the Times. She completed four or five years of
- 14:45Speaker 1: dental school in Minsk, but stopped her studies to go
- 14:48Speaker 1: to New York. By the winter of 2012, she accepted Mr.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Epstein's help to get into dental school. After Columbia's College
- 14:57Speaker 1: of Dental Medicine initially rejected her, Mr. Epstein asked his
- 15:00Speaker 1: own dentist, Dr. Thomas J. Magnani, a powerful alumnus, to
- 15:07Speaker 1: put him in contact with the dental school's dean. Mr.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Epstein dangled the idea, of making up to a $ 10
- 15:13Speaker 1: million donation. In the end, he would only give around $ 210, 000
- 15:18Speaker 1: to Columbia, according to an accounting by the university, but
- 15:22Speaker 1: it was enough to grease the wheels. Must be nice, huh?
- 15:26Speaker 1: Little Lord Fuckleroy. Epstein shows up with a bag of
- 15:29Speaker 1: money and gets whoever he wants into school. The Justice
- 15:34Speaker 1: Department files include a text message chain showing how Dr.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Magnani and Dr. James Fine, a dental school administrator, gave
- 15:42Speaker 1: Shuliac a heads up on topics she would encounter during
- 15:45Speaker 1: an admissions exam in April of 2012 to test her
- 15:48Speaker 1: practical skills as a transfer student. Neither Dr. Magnani or Dr.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Fine responded to a request for comment. Oh, why would they?
- 15:58Speaker 1: They don't have to explain themselves to mere peasants like us.
- 16:02Speaker 1: They're fine members of the community. Pillars, in fact. After
- 16:07Speaker 1: she passed and Columbia admitted her, Mr. Epstein arranged for Dr.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Shulak's mother to visit from Belarus. He would pay her
- 16:14Speaker 1: tuition for three years of school. You are the purest
- 16:18Speaker 1: man of all men, Dr. Shulak wrote to him in
- 16:22Speaker 1: June of 2012. Can you fucking imagine? Imagine the gaslighting
- 16:26Speaker 1: that must have occurred. Or maybe not. Maybe Karinia Shulak
- 16:31Speaker 1: was willing to look past what Epstein really was because
- 16:35Speaker 1: of the benefits it brought her, and unfortunately there's a
- 16:37Speaker 1: lot of people like that. How many people in this
- 16:40Speaker 1: story especially? All your love and care, my parents, school, apartment,
- 16:46Speaker 1: thank you so much for everything. They fought at times
- 16:50Speaker 1: over his insistence on having sex with other women in
- 16:53Speaker 1: their 20s, including with the small group of assistants who
- 16:57Speaker 1: did chores for him, and whom he referred to as
- 16:59Speaker 1: his family, according to emails. Some fucking Charles Manson type shit.
- 17:05Speaker 1: That's another thing I've said. This dude had a cult
- 17:08Speaker 1: around him. That was his goal. Get all those girls
- 17:12Speaker 1: believing all kinds of funky shit and thinking that everything
- 17:15Speaker 1: he was up to and the stuff his friends were
- 17:17Speaker 1: up to was fucking normal. Meanwhile, it was anything but.
- 17:22Speaker 1: She was about as normal as Norman Bates. I understand
- 17:29Speaker 1: you need it. However, these are the things that don't
- 17:31Speaker 1: feel natural to me. It feels somewhat dirty to me,
- 17:34Speaker 1: she wrote to him in August of 2012. Nowhere in
- 17:38Speaker 1: the Justice Department files that were reviewed by the Times
- 17:42Speaker 1: does Dr. Shulak express a broader ethical concern about how
- 17:46Speaker 1: he was treating those other women, many of whom would
- 17:48Speaker 1: later claim to be victims of his abuse. Instead, she
- 17:52Speaker 1: asked Mr. Epstein to keep his relations with those women
- 17:56Speaker 1: out of sight. See no evil, hear no evil, speak
- 18:00Speaker 1: no evil. And unfortunately, that was the M.O. surrounding Epstein,
- 18:04Speaker 1: not just with Shuliac, but with most people. If that
- 18:09Speaker 1: is not a lot to ask, please enjoy it, but
- 18:11Speaker 1: keep me away from it, she wrote. I will stay
- 18:14Speaker 1: with you no matter what, as long as you are happy.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I love you. By the time she applied to Columbia
- 18:23Speaker 1: in 2012, Dr. Shuliac had overstayed the student visa she
- 18:26Speaker 1: had obtained in 2010. In early 2013, Mr. Epstein found
- 18:32Speaker 1: a solution to keep her in the country, the files show.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Two years earlier, New York became one of the first
- 18:38Speaker 1: states to legalize same-sex marriage. Mr. Epstein concluded that a
- 18:43Speaker 1: marriage in New York between two women might be the
- 18:46Speaker 1: easiest way to gain U.S. citizenship without raising red flags
- 18:49Speaker 1: that the marriage was arranged solely to avoid deportation. The
- 18:54Speaker 1: marriage hustle. And Jeffrey Epstein was pretty good at it.
- 18:59Speaker 1: And it wasn't just the fake marriages. There was a
- 19:01Speaker 1: lot of immigration fraud. And my question has always been,
- 19:06Speaker 1: who helped him out doing that? Like I said in
- 19:08Speaker 1: the earlier episode, he didn't do it on his own.
- 19:11Speaker 1: There was somebody in the immigration office. He had a contact, somebody.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Who was it? Mr. Epstein chose from the ranks of
- 19:18Speaker 1: his assistants, a 30-year-old woman from Minnesota, to be her spouse.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Brad Edwards, the lawyer for the woman, said that his
- 19:26Speaker 1: client was a victim of Mr. Epstein's and that he
- 19:29Speaker 1: could not speak about her situation. But he said that,
- 19:32Speaker 1: as a general rule, nobody was permitted or dared to
- 19:35Speaker 1: ever disobey Jeffrey Epstein. And, you know, Brad Edwards has
- 19:40Speaker 1: really turned heel here, huh? All of a sudden, he's
- 19:43Speaker 1: defending all these women that for years he called co-conspirators?
- 19:47Speaker 1: Pretty odd to me. And look, I get it. The
- 19:50Speaker 1: facts change on the ground. But here's a fact that's
- 19:52Speaker 1: never going to change. A lot of those people that
- 19:55Speaker 1: he's now representing were allegedly involved in abusing people like Virginia.
- 20:01Speaker 1: So I don't know how he squares that circle. The
- 20:04Speaker 1: emails show that Mr. Epstein instructed the woman to meet Dr.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Shuliac on the morning of September 16th 2013, at the
- 20:12Speaker 1: New York City Marriage Bureau. She was told to have
- 20:14Speaker 1: her bags packed so she could immediately fly to the
- 20:17Speaker 1: Virgin Islands after getting the marriage license, while Dr. Shulak
- 20:21Speaker 1: would stay behind to attend her dental school classes. The
- 20:25Speaker 1: women were married three weeks later at the office of
- 20:27Speaker 1: the city clerk. Photos were taken of the ceremony. Yeah,
- 20:32Speaker 1: they had to make it look legit, right? If anyone
- 20:34Speaker 1: came asking questions, we have to have some contemporaneous evidence
- 20:37Speaker 1: that this is legit, or at least close to being legit.
- 20:41Speaker 1: After the wedding, a Brooklyn immigration lawyer working for Mr.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Epstein submitted an immigration form stating that the woman wanted
- 20:49Speaker 1: to list Dr. Shuliac as her wife and beneficiary. The
- 20:53Speaker 1: request was approved and immigration officials dismissed Dr. Shuliac's pending
- 20:58Speaker 1: deportation proceedings. Months after the marriage, Dr. Shuliac got a
- 21:03Speaker 1: green card making her a lawful resident. Talk about game
- 21:08Speaker 1: in the system. My question is how many other girls
- 21:12Speaker 1: did this happen to that we don't know about? Girls
- 21:15Speaker 1: that weren't as lucky as Karinia Shulak. Outwardly, the marriage
- 21:20Speaker 1: had signs of legitimacy. The two women shared an apartment
- 21:24Speaker 1: in the Upper East Side building that was partly owned
- 21:26Speaker 1: by Mr. Epstein's brother and where Mr. Epstein housed many
- 21:30Speaker 1: of his assistants. They had a joint bank account at
- 21:33Speaker 1: Deutsche Bank and went on trips together to London, Europe,
- 21:37Speaker 1: and Japan. Yeah, accompanying Epstein. doing work for Epstein. In
- 21:44Speaker 1: May of 2018, she officially became a U.S. citizen. A
- 21:48Speaker 1: year later, Dr. Shulak and her spouse divorced. According to
- 21:53Speaker 1: a report released this year by Democrats on the House
- 21:55Speaker 1: Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Dr. Shulak's former wife
- 22:00Speaker 1: claimed she had been forced into the marriage. The woman,
- 22:03Speaker 1: in a statement to the Epstein estate, said she had
- 22:05Speaker 1: not known that the wedding had been scheduled just days
- 22:08Speaker 1: before Dr. Shulak's deportation hearing. The report concluded that the
- 22:13Speaker 1: marriage may have been done to provide Dr. Shulak with
- 22:16Speaker 1: the legal basis to continue residing in the United States.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It didn't recommend any legal challenge to her citizenship, of
- 22:23Speaker 1: course not. Epstein reached out, talked to his buddies, and
- 22:27Speaker 1: made sure everything was cool. I met Epstein's girlfriend. In
- 22:32Speaker 1: early 2019, Dr. Shuliac and Mr. Epstein seemed every bit
- 22:35Speaker 1: the couple. She was living most of the time in
- 22:38Speaker 1: his New York mansion and took along her cat, Blueberry,
- 22:41Speaker 1: when they traveled together. She had become a licensed dentist
- 22:45Speaker 1: in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Florida, and New Mexico after
- 22:48Speaker 1: completing dental school in 2015, but there's no evidence that
- 22:53Speaker 1: she had much of a practice, even though the files
- 22:55Speaker 1: detail dental equipment installed at some of the residences. Instead,
- 23:00Speaker 1: she spent much of her energy helping to manage his
- 23:02Speaker 1: properties and staff. That was her new role. She took
- 23:06Speaker 1: over for Sarah Kellan Vickers and Ghislaine Maxwell. That was
- 23:09Speaker 1: the role. Now, was she setting up girls to come in?
- 23:12Speaker 1: I don't know. We haven't seen that yet, and she
- 23:15Speaker 1: seems a bit jealous, so probably not. But who knows?
- 23:19Speaker 1: We have to keep going. We have to dig deeper,
- 23:21Speaker 1: and we have to see where the evidence takes us.
- 23:25Speaker 1: No task seemed too small. She instructed his drivers to
- 23:28Speaker 1: keep cold Voss water in Mr. Epstein's cars. organized a
- 23:32Speaker 1: floral installation for his Manhattan mansion, ordered a shipping container
- 23:36Speaker 1: filled with outdoor furniture for his island, and managed repairs
- 23:39Speaker 1: and cleaning schedules for the Upper East Side apartments that
- 23:43Speaker 1: his brother was invested in. In mid-June 2019, the pair
- 23:48Speaker 1: traveled to Paris, where Mr. Epstein had an apartment. On
- 23:52Speaker 1: July 6, Mr. Epstein returned home to the United States,
- 23:56Speaker 1: while Dr. Chuliak remained in Europe. When his plane touched
- 23:59Speaker 1: down at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, federal agents were
- 24:03Speaker 1: waiting and arrested him. Too little, too late. Bro should
- 24:08Speaker 1: have been arrested 20 years ago, and not just arrested,
- 24:11Speaker 1: thrown under the prison. About a month and a half
- 24:15Speaker 1: after his arrest, in a 20-minute phone call from jail,
- 24:18Speaker 1: in lower Manhattan, Mr. Epstein told Dr. Shulak that the
- 24:21Speaker 1: federal sex trafficking charges would take longer to resolve than
- 24:25Speaker 1: he had thought. He advised her to find another place
- 24:27Speaker 1: to stay for the time being, according to an account
- 24:31Speaker 1: of the call provided by her lawyer to federal authorities.
- 24:34Speaker 1: The lawyer, Maurice Sercars, said he had told her to
- 24:38Speaker 1: be strong. The next morning, August 10th, 2019, Mr. Epstein
- 24:43Speaker 1: was found to have died by suicide in his jail cell, allegedly.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Now look. I am more than willing to accept that
- 24:51Speaker 1: it was suicide. But we need more evidence. I mean,
- 24:54Speaker 1: when you have Dr. Bodden and several other medical examiners
- 24:59Speaker 1: calling out Barbara Sampson Hawk for her job here, for
- 25:03Speaker 1: what she said, what she did, I think we have
- 25:06Speaker 1: to take note of that. And I think we should
- 25:08Speaker 1: pay attention. Shortly before his death, Mr. Epstein amended his
- 25:13Speaker 1: will to leave her much of the $ 600 million fortune
- 25:16Speaker 1: that he had at the time, including the large diamond
- 25:19Speaker 1: ring in contemplation of marriage, according to a handwritten note
- 25:23Speaker 1: on a related document. But how much she will actually
- 25:27Speaker 1: receive is unclear. The estate is worth between $ 120 million
- 25:32Speaker 1: and $ 200 million after paying out large sums to his victims,
- 25:36Speaker 1: records show. There are dozens of beneficiaries, in addition to Dr. Shuliac,
- 25:41Speaker 1: including Mark Epstein's children, who stand to inherit $ 10 million.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Of course they do, and all this money is ill-gotten gains.
- 25:48Speaker 1: The money should be seized. If it was a RICO case,
- 25:51Speaker 1: the money would have been seized. And that's another reason
- 25:53Speaker 1: why it's not a RICO case. People are still getting
- 25:56Speaker 1: rich here. And when I say people, I don't mean survivors.
- 25:59Speaker 1: And all the jackholes out there saying, oh, it was
- 26:02Speaker 1: a big money grab by the survivors. Well, Jeffrey Epstein's
- 26:05Speaker 1: nieces or whatever the fuck, they're about to get $ 10 million.
- 26:10Speaker 1: And I can assure you, none of the survivors got
- 26:12Speaker 1: $ 10 million from Jeffrey Epstein's estate. So take your bitch
- 26:16Speaker 1: ass narrative and shove it. Yet despite this potential windfall, Dr.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Chuliak did not give up her desire to be a dentist.
- 26:24Speaker 1: By 2023, she was back in New York applying for
- 26:27Speaker 1: a postdoctoral dental program at Columbia, apparently to fulfill a
- 26:32Speaker 1: requirement she needed to obtain a license to practice in
- 26:35Speaker 1: the state. The same two dentists who helped her gain
- 26:38Speaker 1: admission to Columbia in 2012 once again came to her assistance,
- 26:42Speaker 1: according to a copy of her admission file reviewed by
- 26:45Speaker 1: the Times. The file shows that Dr. Fine, the dean
- 26:50Speaker 1: overseeing Columbia's postgraduate residency program, created a special faculty internship
- 26:55Speaker 1: for her at the Midtown Manhattan dental practice he shared
- 26:58Speaker 1: with Dr. Magnani. Both men gave her their highest recommendation
- 27:02Speaker 1: for the program, which she graduated from in May of 2025,
- 27:06Speaker 1: along with six other students. In November, she received her
- 27:09Speaker 1: dental license to practice in New York. In the aftermath
- 27:13Speaker 1: of the release of the Epstein files, Columbia demoted Dr.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Fine and remove Dr. Magnani from his alumni leadership post.
- 27:21Speaker 1: The men declined to comment. The university did not recommend
- 27:25Speaker 1: any consequences for Dr. Shulak, who it said had met
- 27:28Speaker 1: the qualifications for admission. Oh, well, in that case, I'm
- 27:33Speaker 1: sure Jeffrey Epstein and his long arm had nothing to
- 27:36Speaker 1: do with it. At around the same time she received
- 27:39Speaker 1: her New York dental license, Dr. Shulak entered a want
- 27:42Speaker 1: ad on Indeed.com for a part-time job as a dentist
- 27:46Speaker 1: in downtown Brooklyn. according to a dentist with a practice
- 27:49Speaker 1: who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss workplace issues.
- 27:54Speaker 1: It was there that Yoon Han Kim, a patient, was
- 27:58Speaker 1: treated by her twice for cleaning in December and a
- 28:01Speaker 1: filling in February. Ms. Kim said she hadn't realized Dr.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Shuliac's true identity until she saw photographs of her released
- 28:09Speaker 1: with the Epstein files. Feeling duped because she was not
- 28:12Speaker 1: informed of Dr. Shuliac's full name and wanting to warn
- 28:16Speaker 1: other patients, she reached out to the Times. Hey, I
- 28:19Speaker 1: get it, man. I don't want one of Jeffrey Epstein's
- 28:22Speaker 1: Manson family people digging around in my mouth either. I
- 28:27Speaker 1: was so upset, Ms. Kim said. I just couldn't believe it.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Of all the things that happened to me, I didn't
- 28:32Speaker 1: win the lottery. I met Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend. Dr. Shuliac's
- 28:37Speaker 1: last day working at the Brooklyn office was February 12th.
- 28:40Speaker 1: She was supposed to work on February 16th, but called
- 28:43Speaker 1: in sick and never returned. The notoriety from the files
- 28:48Speaker 1: probably made it difficult for her to keep working there,
- 28:51Speaker 1: the dentist at the practice said. Dr. Shuliac's lawyer declined
- 28:54Speaker 1: to say whether she had gotten another dental job, and
- 28:57Speaker 1: unfortunately that's the scarlet letter, right? Epstein's girlfriend? Somebody that
- 29:03Speaker 1: was that close to him. Somebody that knew what he was.
- 29:06Speaker 1: And not only that, but according to the files, according
- 29:08Speaker 1: to what we know, she never claimed to be a victim.
- 29:11Speaker 1: So she was there willingly. So I could understand why Ms.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Kim wants nothing to do with a dentist that was
- 29:17Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend. I mean, it seems like a quality
- 29:20Speaker 1: life decision to me. So I wonder what's going to
- 29:23Speaker 1: happen with the money. And I wonder if Shuliac is
- 29:25Speaker 1: going to get her share of it. And to that end,
- 29:28Speaker 1: like usual, we'll keep an eye on it. And when
- 29:30Speaker 1: we have some more information, one way or the other...
- 29:32Speaker 1: We'll get that added to the catalog as well. All
- 29:36Speaker 1: the information that goes with this episode can be found
- 29:39Speaker 1: in the description. box. What's up everyone and welcome to
- 29:43Speaker 1: another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. When it comes to
- 29:48Speaker 1: New Mexico and Jeffrey Epstein, we still don't have a
- 29:51Speaker 1: firm grasp on exactly what he was up to. Now,
- 29:55Speaker 1: we have a few ideas, but the full scope, the
- 29:59Speaker 1: true extent, of what he was up to at Zorro
- 30:01Speaker 1: Ranch has yet to be revealed. And we're still trying
- 30:04Speaker 1: to piece together what exactly happened over the years at
- 30:08Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch and just how many people were hurt. Well,
- 30:12Speaker 1: now we're learning a little bit more about Jeffrey Epstein's
- 30:16Speaker 1: activities in New Mexico. And that also includes his ex-girlfriend,
- 30:20Speaker 1: Crinia Shuliac, applying for a dental license for a dental
- 30:25Speaker 1: practice in New Mexico. And get this, the name of
- 30:28Speaker 1: the practice is Zorro smiles. And where would this practice
- 30:32Speaker 1: be located? Well, you guessed it. On the property of
- 30:37Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch. Now, this dental practice was never put into play.
- 30:42Speaker 1: But the fact that it was even a thought just
- 30:45Speaker 1: shows you how deeply entrenched Jeffrey Epstein was in the
- 30:50Speaker 1: state of New Mexico. And he really thought that he'd
- 30:53Speaker 1: be able to get away with setting up a dental
- 30:55Speaker 1: office right on the property of Zorro Ranch. And that's
- 30:59Speaker 1: because nobody in the whole ass state really cared what
- 31:02Speaker 1: Epstein was up to. And that's because some of the
- 31:05Speaker 1: most powerful people in the state were friends with him.
- 31:10Speaker 1: I mean, the Kings, the Richardsons, sheriffs, you name it.
- 31:17Speaker 1: So of course people are willing to look the other way.
- 31:20Speaker 1: And that's been the MO with Epstein for how long?
- 31:23Speaker 1: In how many cities? How many states? He ingratiates himself
- 31:28Speaker 1: to powerful people And then those powerful people get caught
- 31:31Speaker 1: up in his orbit. And before you know it, he's
- 31:34Speaker 1: being protected. And we've seen it so many times. And
- 31:38Speaker 1: down here in New Mexico, it was obviously happening. Now
- 31:42Speaker 1: the question is, will this truth commission be able to
- 31:45Speaker 1: get to the bottom of it? And today we have
- 31:47Speaker 1: an article from the Santa Fe New Mexican talking about
- 31:49Speaker 1: this very topic. Headline, Zorro Smiles. Epstein's girlfriend was a
- 31:55Speaker 1: licensed dentist in New Mexico. This article was authored by
- 31:59Speaker 1: Clara Bates. Jeffrey Epstein wrote to his girlfriend and assistant
- 32:05Speaker 1: in 2016 with a request. Please get oxygen for a
- 32:09Speaker 1: dental office, New York and New Mexico, he wrote in
- 32:12Speaker 1: an email. One of millions of documents the U.S. Justice
- 32:15Speaker 1: Department has released on the sex offender and financier. He
- 32:19Speaker 1: also instructed her to travel with anesthetic. And one of
- 32:23Speaker 1: the main reasons that Epstein had a dentist on hand
- 32:26Speaker 1: and all these doctors in his orbit was because a
- 32:29Speaker 1: lot of these girls were being trafficked, and everything had
- 32:31Speaker 1: to be done on the hush-hush. You know, like in
- 32:34Speaker 1: a TV show, when somebody gets shot, and they take
- 32:36Speaker 1: them to a veterinarian, because they can't risk, you know,
- 32:39Speaker 1: the authorities knowing what's happening? Same shit. So they have
- 32:43Speaker 1: all these other people in play, that can take care
- 32:46Speaker 1: of the needs of the girls, without raising any alarms
- 32:49Speaker 1: or suspicions. And Krenia Shulak certainly was one of those.
- 32:55Speaker 1: She was a dentist, and how many of these girls...
- 32:58Speaker 1: did she treat? And how many of those girls might
- 33:02Speaker 1: have reported something or a doctor might have seen something
- 33:06Speaker 1: if they went to somebody, a medical provider, that wasn't
- 33:09Speaker 1: provided by Epstein? The message was directed to Krenia Shuliac,
- 33:15Speaker 1: who graduated from dental school in 2015 and promptly applied
- 33:19Speaker 1: for licensure in New Mexico and the U.S. Virgin Islands,
- 33:23Speaker 1: both sites of Epstein's major properties. Yeah, she wanted to
- 33:26Speaker 1: have that Leg up, right? Epstein needed to have a dentist,
- 33:31Speaker 1: needed to have somebody to take care of the girl's teeth,
- 33:34Speaker 1: and somebody that's not going to ask questions. So who
- 33:37Speaker 1: better than somebody that's in on it? I mean, if
- 33:39Speaker 1: you're trying to catch a rat, you might as well
- 33:42Speaker 1: get a rat catcher. In her application to become licensed
- 33:46Speaker 1: in New Mexico obtained by the New Mexican under a
- 33:49Speaker 1: public records request, Shuliac proposed that she would practice dentistry
- 33:53Speaker 1: from Epstein's southern Santa Fe County ranch. At 49 Zorro
- 33:57Speaker 1: Ranch Road. All these people with all these businesses. Everything
- 34:01Speaker 1: tied back to Jeffrey Epstein. And still. You know what
- 34:05Speaker 1: I'm going to say right? No Rico. Why not? This
- 34:10Speaker 1: is obviously. A predicate. This is obviously. Some kind of
- 34:14Speaker 1: front operation. Maybe not as far as to launder money.
- 34:18Speaker 1: But a front as far as. People's health. And a
- 34:22Speaker 1: way to make sure that the girls. That are in
- 34:24Speaker 1: Epstein's clutches. Don't have any medical professionals that aren't on
- 34:28Speaker 1: the dime taking a look at them. It's really not
- 34:32Speaker 1: that difficult to follow. The name of the proposed venture,
- 34:37Speaker 1: Shuliac wrote, Zorro Smiles. There's no evidence that Zorro Smiles
- 34:43Speaker 1: or any dental practice was formally established at the ranch
- 34:46Speaker 1: with Santa Fe County, which requires medical businesses to abide
- 34:50Speaker 1: by certain regulations. Yeah, did that stop Epstein down in
- 34:54Speaker 1: the USVI where he had the dental chair? Do you
- 34:57Speaker 1: really think Jeffrey Epstein of all people cared about your regulations?
- 35:04Speaker 1: But a handful of emails released by the Justice Department
- 35:07Speaker 1: suggest there was dentistry equipment at Zorro Ranch. Later in 2015,
- 35:12Speaker 1: Epstein instructed the ranch manager to unplug a dental chair pump. Look,
- 35:16Speaker 1: he was obviously having the girl's teeth fixed. And whether
- 35:21Speaker 1: it was Karinia Shulak or somebody else, somebody was doing it.
- 35:26Speaker 1: So before Shulak... became a dentist. I'm sure somebody else
- 35:30Speaker 1: was involved as far as keeping the girls' teeth clean.
- 35:33Speaker 1: We know that he sent girls to Frederick Fakai to
- 35:36Speaker 1: get their hair done. And then we hear from Sarah
- 35:38Speaker 1: Kellen about what she says Frederick Fakai did to her.
- 35:42Speaker 1: So you see the loop here? Epstein had like a
- 35:45Speaker 1: closed circuit of people that he could send these girls
- 35:47Speaker 1: to that would keep quiet. And he knew they would
- 35:50Speaker 1: keep quiet. And that's why he sent them there. Shuliac
- 35:55Speaker 1: was licensed as a New Mexico dentist from August 2015
- 35:59Speaker 1: around to around 2021, according to public records provided by
- 36:04Speaker 1: the New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care. U.S. Justice
- 36:07Speaker 1: Department files and public licensure information show she became licensed
- 36:12Speaker 1: in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Florida in late 2015. Like,
- 36:17Speaker 1: as if things aren't bad enough if you're in the
- 36:19Speaker 1: clutches of Epstein. Now he's like, I want you to
- 36:21Speaker 1: go sit in this dental chair and look at all
- 36:23Speaker 1: these weird ass masks. That has to be reassuring while
- 36:26Speaker 1: you're getting your teeth drilled on. A photo of what
- 36:32Speaker 1: appears to be a dental office in Epstein's Virgin Island
- 36:34Speaker 1: property drew public attention last year. The room features a
- 36:38Speaker 1: large yellow dental chair and masks of unidentified men's faces
- 36:43Speaker 1: adorning the walls. Released by the House Oversight Committee, the
- 36:46Speaker 1: photo came out of a U.S. Virgin Islands government investigation,
- 36:50Speaker 1: and that was the Seco case that they had against
- 36:53Speaker 1: the estate. and the estate ended up settling with the USVI.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch was not searched by law enforcement in the
- 37:02Speaker 1: aftermath of Epstein's arrest, even as several of his other
- 37:05Speaker 1: properties were. I wonder why. I'm sure it was just
- 37:08Speaker 1: an oversight, right? You see, what had happened was, we
- 37:11Speaker 1: meant to raid Zorro Ranch, but we just couldn't find
- 37:13Speaker 1: the time. Like, there's no plausible explanation or excuse. If
- 37:19Speaker 1: you're going after somebody like Epstein, and you're raiding all
- 37:22Speaker 1: of his other mansions, probably a good idea to raid
- 37:25Speaker 1: This one too, right? Or maybe the place in Colorado?
- 37:30Speaker 1: But I guess that would be too much work for
- 37:31Speaker 1: the federal government. We can't have the case expanding now,
- 37:34Speaker 1: can we? A New Mexico Legislative Truth Commission investigating Epstein
- 37:42Speaker 1: on Friday published a subpoena to the State Regulation and
- 37:45Speaker 1: Licensing Department seeking records related to oversight of medical, dental,
- 37:50Speaker 1: and ambulance services at the ranch. Commission Chair Andrea Romero said,
- 37:55Speaker 1: Democrat from Santa Fe, said in an interview on Friday
- 37:58Speaker 1: that it was the first she was hearing about Shuliac's license. Yeah,
- 38:03Speaker 1: I never heard that before. I knew she was a dentist,
- 38:06Speaker 1: but I didn't know that she was licensed in New Mexico.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I had heard about the Virgin Islands, but not New Mexico.
- 38:17Speaker 1: And again, look, that's all by design. All of this secrecy,
- 38:20Speaker 1: all these shadows, all the obfuscation, everything in New Mexico
- 38:24Speaker 1: is by design. We heard about allegations of different medical
- 38:29Speaker 1: procedures being done there. People waking up around medical equipment
- 38:32Speaker 1: has been alleged quite a bit. And so any information
- 38:36Speaker 1: that we can have, and it sounds like you have
- 38:38Speaker 1: some more information than we do, would be really interesting
- 38:41Speaker 1: to try to pull together what really was going on there,
- 38:44Speaker 1: Romero said. Well, look, there's a lot of reports, right?
- 38:48Speaker 1: We've heard from a lot of people that they woke
- 38:51Speaker 1: up and exactly like Ms. Romero says here, there was
- 38:54Speaker 1: medical equipment around. It's like waking up in a fucking
- 38:58Speaker 1: alien movie. You're on some kind of table. You're getting
- 39:01Speaker 1: anally probed by some little green men. It's the kind
- 39:04Speaker 1: of shit that Nightmare Fuel is made of. Bad enough
- 39:08Speaker 1: that Jeffrey Epstein was abusing people physically to think that
- 39:11Speaker 1: there was some kind of medical nonsense going on as well.
- 39:16Speaker 1: That is some very, very dark, dark shit. But it's
- 39:20Speaker 1: something that we know Jeffrey Epstein was into. He was
- 39:23Speaker 1: into a lot of weird stuff. And I think as
- 39:25Speaker 1: more is revealed, we're going to find even weirder shit
- 39:29Speaker 1: if you can believe it, that this idiot was up to.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Shuliac was listed as the primary beneficiary of Epstein's trust
- 39:38Speaker 1: and was his last call from jail before his death.
- 39:41Speaker 1: He planned to give her $ 100 million and his home,
- 39:45Speaker 1: including the ranch. Why Epstein wanted private dental offices at
- 39:49Speaker 1: his properties remains unclear. Well, only for people that don't
- 39:52Speaker 1: know what they're talking about. I'll just explain that. The
- 39:56Speaker 1: idea was to keep everything on the hush. No medical records,
- 40:00Speaker 1: nobody in the system, so they could have their girls
- 40:03Speaker 1: that they brought in from Eastern Europe or wherever hidden.
- 40:08Speaker 1: That way they can continue to control them. Can't have
- 40:11Speaker 1: a medical professional getting in the way, can we? A
- 40:15Speaker 1: New York Times report earlier this year found Epstein sought
- 40:18Speaker 1: medical care for himself and women around him outside established channels,
- 40:22Speaker 1: including from doctors who broke the ethical rules of their professions.
- 40:26Speaker 1: In one case, the doctor performed surgery on a girl
- 40:29Speaker 1: on Epstein's dining room table. Like I said. And look,
- 40:34Speaker 1: all you have to do is follow along with the story,
- 40:37Speaker 1: and you realize this is what Epstein was up to.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Epstein frequently arranged dental cleanings for the young women he
- 40:43Speaker 1: surrounded himself with the Justice Department email show. Although those
- 40:48Speaker 1: were at professional dentist office. Yeah, they were for the assistants.
- 40:52Speaker 1: People that were already Americans. Not the girls that were
- 40:55Speaker 1: being smuggled in under the shroud of them being some
- 40:57Speaker 1: kind of model. Then they get here and there's no
- 41:00Speaker 1: modeling job for them. Only abuse and misery. Many of
- 41:06Speaker 1: the girls Epstein was accused of abusing were from overseas.
- 41:10Speaker 1: In one 2013 email, A woman thanked Epstein for sending
- 41:13Speaker 1: her to the dentist, saying she had never gotten a
- 41:16Speaker 1: teeth cleaning in Lithuania. Shuliac's New Mexico license with the
- 41:20Speaker 1: Board of Dental Health Care was approved in a one-line email.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Grant K. Sulica, General Dentistry License for the State of
- 41:28Speaker 1: New Mexico, then Board Chair Dr. Burrell Tucker, wrote August 12, 2015,
- 41:34Speaker 1: misspelling Shuliac's name. The New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department
- 41:40Speaker 1: Had no record of complaints against Chuliak. Look, I doubt
- 41:44Speaker 1: that she was like practicing, practicing. The whole entire point
- 41:47Speaker 1: and idea was to do this for Epstein. Andrea Brown,
- 41:54Speaker 1: a spokesperson for the regulation board, said it's not in
- 41:58Speaker 1: the board's purview to oversee practice locations. The statute does
- 42:02Speaker 1: not include provision to regulate the establishment of a practice location.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Various county regulations would apply if Epstein was trying to
- 42:11Speaker 1: operate a dental practice out of his property, even if
- 42:14Speaker 1: it took up just one room, Santa Fe County spokesperson
- 42:17Speaker 1: Shauna Graves said. Well, that would mean that you'd think
- 42:21Speaker 1: that Epstein cared about your regulations. He did not. Epstein
- 42:25Speaker 1: did what he wanted when he wanted to do it.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Graves said the owner would have been required to submit
- 42:32Speaker 1: various material for approval to the county, including a home
- 42:35Speaker 1: occupation license if a limited area in the home was
- 42:39Speaker 1: being used for a dental practice. County records show no
- 42:42Speaker 1: application for a dental business license or any reference to
- 42:46Speaker 1: a dental practice at the property in a development or
- 42:49Speaker 1: a business license application, she said. There's no record of
- 42:53Speaker 1: Zorro Smiles or that it was ever registered as a
- 42:55Speaker 1: company with the Secretary of State's office, a spokesperson confirmed. Yeah, look,
- 43:01Speaker 1: it was all for Epstein and to keep the girls
- 43:04Speaker 1: off the radar. That's what it comes down to. The
- 43:07Speaker 1: Truth Commission has so far published 20 subpoenas. It's issued
- 43:10Speaker 1: to public and private institutions, including the one to a
- 43:14Speaker 1: regulation agency, which requests documents related to regulatory oversight of
- 43:19Speaker 1: medical services, dental services, and ambulance services, along with permits
- 43:24Speaker 1: and related files. The subpoenas don't name Shuliac. Emails released
- 43:29Speaker 1: by the Justice Department earlier this year show Epstein's interest
- 43:33Speaker 1: in medical self-sufficiency extended to purchasing a private ambulance for
- 43:37Speaker 1: the ranch. On June 2015, he began seeking information on
- 43:42Speaker 1: two fully equipped ambulances for the island and ranch, according
- 43:46Speaker 1: to an email written by Shuliac, who served as one
- 43:49Speaker 1: of Epstein's assistants. He paid $ 50, 684 for an ambulance in
- 43:55Speaker 1: early 2016, an invoice in the Justice Department file shows,
- 44:00Speaker 1: which included a medical cot, defibrillator, and a 100-pound oxygen tank.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Ambulance will read, Zorro Ambulance on all three sides, Epstein's
- 44:10Speaker 1: accountant wrote to him, finalizing the purchase. Epstein also purchased
- 44:15Speaker 1: an ambulance for the U.S. Virgin Islands property record show. Well,
- 44:19Speaker 1: that's not weird. The fuck do you need an ambulance for? Unless,
- 44:24Speaker 1: of course, you're up to no good. And as we
- 44:26Speaker 1: all know, Jeffrey Epstein was certainly up to no good.
- 44:30Speaker 1: So it's going to be real interesting to see what
- 44:32Speaker 1: this commission comes up with. And if they find anything else...
- 44:35Speaker 1: that might not have been known previously. So until then,
- 44:39Speaker 1: we'll keep on keeping on, and we'll be here every
- 44:42Speaker 1: step of the way. All the information that goes with
- 44:45Speaker 1: this episode can be found in the description box.
