- 0:07Speaker 1: found three clues. Clue number one was in Olivia's library book.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Clue number two was at the hospital behind a plaque.
- 0:16Speaker 1: And clue number three was under the school gym stage.
- 0:20Speaker 1: How it survived for 40 years? Well, that tells you
- 0:24Speaker 1: a lot about how well the cupboard under the stage
- 0:27Speaker 1: is cleaned. Let's join Olivia and Addison as they continue
- 0:31Speaker 1: their hunt. it will lead them to the heart of
- 0:34Speaker 1: Discovery Mountain in today's episode called In Plain Sight.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Read the clue one more time, Addison.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Okay, here it is. Look where Discovery Business is noticed
- 0:45Speaker 3: and posted.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Discovery Business. So, town business?
- 0:50Speaker 3: I think so.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Would it be the mayor's office?
- 0:54Speaker 3: Well, that's where official town business happens. Lead on.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Let's try the mayor's office.
- 1:03Speaker 3: The door's locked. Yeah, closed.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I guess Mr. Simon isn't here.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Nah, he's at Trecker's. Trecker's! Of course! That's where the
- 1:12Speaker 3: real town business happens.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Let's go. Hi, Gadget. Who's a good boy?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Now, where would a 40-year-old clue be hiding? I don't know.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Mr.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Simon keeps trekkers spotless. I mean, look at these floors.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Admiring my shiny wood floors?
- 1:42Speaker 3: Yes. Hi, Mr. Simon.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Mr.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Simon, you can help us. You remember 1986, right?
- 1:47Speaker 4: Uh, yes, I do.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Why?
- 1:51Speaker 2: We found a flyer for a scavenger hunt that the
- 1:53Speaker 2: youth group did in 1986.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Well, how nostalgic.
- 1:57Speaker 3: And guess what? We found three of the clues.
- 2:00Speaker 4: From 40 years ago? That's incredible.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Do you remember the scavenger hunt? You could help us
- 2:07Speaker 2: with this clue.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Oh, I don't remember a scavenger hunt from 1986. That's
- 2:13Speaker 4: too bad.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Here's the clue.
- 2:17Speaker 4: That paper and font sure looks like the 80s. It's dusty.
- 2:22Speaker 2: We found it under the school stage.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Oh, my. Well, let's see. Look where Discovery Business is
- 2:30Speaker 4: noticed and posted.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Business happens here. Oh, Gadget wants to see it.
- 2:38Speaker 4: He wants to smell it. Here you go, boy.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Aw, he's leading us.
- 2:44Speaker 2: To Mr. Simon's office, Gadget?
- 2:47Speaker 4: Well, may as well follow.
- 2:49Speaker 3: That is where business happens.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Gadget!
- 2:53Speaker 3: Gadget!
- 2:54Speaker 2: You led us right to your food bowl.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Oh, Gadget, you're hungry.
- 2:59Speaker 4: I'll fill up the bowl. Now, post it. Do you
- 3:03Speaker 4: think they meant the postal mail slots?
- 3:06Speaker 3: Oh, can we look?
- 3:08Speaker 4: Be my guest.
- 3:10Speaker 2: These mail slots are old. Probably original to the store.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Yeah, but run your finger over the wood.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Not a speck of dust.
- 3:20Speaker 3: There's no chance any piece of paper has sat here
- 3:23Speaker 3: for 40 years.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Where discovery business is noticed and posted. Why noticed? Why
- 3:30Speaker 2: that word?
- 3:32Speaker 3: Noticed. Like people see it. Notice it.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Noticed.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Noticed.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Ah, that's what bulletin boards are called sometimes. Notice boards.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Oh, the trucker's bulletin board by the front door.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Lead on.
- 3:50Speaker 3: This bulletin board is covered.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Oh, look.
- 3:54Speaker 3: There's a pet sitting ad from Kayla. From 2015. Aw.
- 3:57Speaker 2: And your dad's business card for the barbershop.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Oh.
- 4:03Speaker 3: You look like he's a teenager. Almost.
- 4:06Speaker 2: There's a lot of old paper on here, but I'm
- 4:08Speaker 2: not seeing a clue.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Me neither. And it's not taped behind either.
- 4:13Speaker 4: No luck? Nah. That bulletin board has been there for years.
- 4:19Speaker 4: It was a good guess.
- 4:21Speaker 3: For how many years, Mr.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Simons? Oh, late 90s, I'd guess.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Late 90s? Mr.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Simon, what happened to the bulletin board you had here
- 4:29Speaker 2: in the late 80s?
- 4:31Speaker 4: Oh, that's hanging in my office. Yes, right above your
- 4:37Speaker 4: food bowl, Gadget. Gadget was leading you to it.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Whoa, this bulletin board is ancient.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I hung it there when I got the new one
- 4:50Speaker 4: and haven't looked since.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Oh, look. A bulletin for the Harmony Corner Church. From 1979.
- 4:59Speaker 2: A receipt from a train trip in 1982. Mr. Simon,
- 5:03Speaker 2: this is a historical archive.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Well, I suppose it is.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And, oh, Olivia, look.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Oh, Gadget, you knew it all along. It's the fourth clue.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Well, what does it say?
- 5:17Speaker 3: Mr. Simon, you read it. It's been in your office
- 5:20Speaker 3: for 40 years.
- 5:22Speaker 4: My, my. And you two helped me find it. All
- 5:25Speaker 4: these memories right in front of my eyes.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Glad to help.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Clue number four. It says, the last clue. Look where
- 5:37Speaker 4: 100 have sung, praising the one.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Ah, the one. Spelled with a capital O.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Oh, like for God.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Yes, that's a good clue. What a great team you
- 5:49Speaker 4: two are. You three are. Sorry, Gadget.
- 5:57Speaker 2: We're having fun helping each other. Now, there can only
- 6:00Speaker 2: be one place this last clue leads.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Let's go. Oh, Mr. Simon, Gadget, come with us.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 6:07Speaker 4: I have treasures on this bulletin board to enjoy. Some
- 6:11Speaker 4: comforting memories.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Okay. Enjoy, Mr. Simon. Addison, the hunt continues.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Lead on.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Another clue found and the last clue in the old
- 6:24Speaker 1: scavenger hunt. Olivia and Addison have worked well together and
- 6:28Speaker 1: catch it really helped. They've observed their surroundings and found
- 6:32Speaker 1: clues and more.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Mr.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Simon had a bulletin board full of memories in his
- 6:38Speaker 1: office and he hadn't even noticed it.
- 6:41Speaker 2: He described them as comforting.
- 6:44Speaker 1: And that reminds me of this verse from 1 Thessalonians
- 6:47Speaker 1: chapter 5 and verse 11. Therefore, comfort each other and
- 6:51Speaker 1: edify one another, just as you also are doing. This
- 6:56Speaker 1: scavenger hunt is drawing people together and leading them to
- 6:59Speaker 1: exercise their faith. I wonder if that was the intention
- 7:03Speaker 1: 40 years ago. We'll find out next time. I'm Miss Jean,
